hap birf to Ora-Lin Kenobi!! born Helona 35th, 57 BBY!

Jey-Min’s mama, Noridian’s wife, and younger twin sister to a very well known Jedi of the same last name (pls don’t make me say it as i’m trying to keep these posts out of known/popular/canon tags, ajfhdsjkf).

when she was born, no one expected her to live very long, as she was very sick and weak. but, by some miracle, she managed to recover and actually lived well into her adult years. at some point, she got into the merchant business and became quite the shrewd businesswoman. and it was through that trade where she met her eventual husband Noridian. she had zero interest in a relationship at first; she was 100% focused on her work, but eventually decided it was time to settle down a bit. and even then, it was another several years after their wedding before they finally decided to have children.

they only had the one; a daughter named Jey-Min, whom they only knew for just shy of a month before they died during a Separatist attack. Noridian was on his way home from town when the bombings started and was among the first to die, whereas Ora was able to start making her way to the nursery before part of their home collapsed on top of her. her daughter ultimately survived and was adopted by her uncle, but Ora-Lin herself never met her brother (let alone hardly knew anything about him).

~one year later...

tbh i always find myself focusing more on her relationship w/ her mother-in-law than her actual parents, i guess b/c they’re sort of in the same profession? i think when i originally wrote this all up, i didn’t have an exact job description in mind other than a basic “merchant”. whereas now i see them more in like. the farming type business; more specifically orchards. probably need to research a bit on space!fruit trees i guess but i like the idea of essentially apple and orange equivalents, and really just any kind of sub-product you’d get from those two. maybe one family did one type of fruit and the other family had the other, and they just combined everything after Ora and Noridian got married.

just as i did w/ last year’s post, i’m gonna be pretty sparing when it comes to talking about backstory stuff b/c honestly? i don’t trust like that, gfdshfj. i know how fandom feels about ocs like her, what w/ her deep connections and other relations to a number of canon characters, so unlike her bff Tähtien, she’s so much tougher to be open about.

i guess the highlights to know is that she’s a Jedi, thus the orange lightsaber that came about from a kyber crystal pendant she wore as a child. she was very much so an active part of the rebellion under the tutelage of her (technical) second master Deasamu Lacrimosa, and after the war was over, she agreed to be a part of a series of missions hunting down any remaining Imperials hiding out across the galaxy. at one point, she and her partner went deep undercover on Arkanis, where she stayed w/ the couple who contacted her higher-ups asking for help to free their city. long-story short, she volunteered to be a surrogate mother for them and the child was born Force-sensitive. but since she sort of already had a padawan at that point, she got back in touch w/ her former master, who recommended the boy be trained by her previous padawan before Jey. so basically everyone’s all got their connections some way or another, lol.

but ye. there’s a lot more to her; i got about just as much on her overall story as i do for Tähtien, so that’s definitely saying something. though, as i said in last year’s post, i’m so incredibly protective of her, so. seems like she’s gonna be the more mysterious of the two??? question mark?? it just goes to show how much i love her and want her to be safe. my darling lovely Jeybie. whom i love.

happy birf to Eri-Xin Kenobi-Bridger!!!! born Relona 9th, 13 ABY!!

Jey-Min’s oldest daughter and Myrrine’s older sister! and as with both her mom and grandma Ora-Lin, i decided to keep w/ the hyphenated first name theme. b/c why not. and arguably it might be my favorite, but don’t tell the others.

she’s definitely the more active/sporty/athletic of the two sisters; she’s also more active in the sense of wanting to be part of the bigger picture too. in fact, at some point she runs off to join the Resistance, and the reason i say “runs off” is b/c idk what her parents are up to at that point. otherwise, she’s more than welcome to join in the fight at any point, b/c frankly that’s how she was raised. she wants to help and fight the good fight; that’s why she’s practically always training, be it on her own or w/ her father--which is why she’s more of a daddy’s girl than her sister, and why the shape of her lightsaber actually matches her dad’s Rebels s1 lightsaber. she opts for a design that can be easily mistaken for just a fancy blaster b/c if she can hide the fact she’s Force sensitive, that can really work in her favor.

and as for the rest of her family, of course she’s close w/ her mom and sister too, but she absolutely considers Ihme to be an older brother, regardless of blood relation. Celia and Torren are also like the closest she’s got to grandparents given that all her biological ones are dead, and even tho both her parents are only children, Tähtien is still w/e gender neutral term for aunt/uncle you wanna use. not to mention just a lot of people their parents know are basically her extended family in some way or another; not to say she was like some sort of prodigal child or anything, but she was definitely well-loved when she was brought into this world.

~one year later...

i had at least one idea for her son’s dad, but now i’m just super on the fence about it, leaning more towards it prob not being him. but at the very least, it’s highly likely someone she met in the Resistance. for now, i’m resigned to the idea that she just ends up a single mom b/c frankly i really don’t know what direction i want to go w/ her in terms of romantic relationships, ghsjkg. and i’d have to check my timeline, but i’m sure Cai-Lan is born well after the events of the sequel trilogy, so like. on one hand it’s not like it’s super important but given i already wrote her son into her story, tbh i just don’t wanna take that from her.
