So question about your au, are you going to adapt it into something like a written fanfiction or a comic, or is it something you've just been playing around with and you wanna see where it goes?

I've been wanting to answer this for a long time... but I cannot fully explain what I want to do.

Part of me wants to make it legit, not just a fan thing, I would love to give Skylanders, and a Spyro TV show a second chance, especially surrounding the conversation of Mental Health and Family and portraying it correctly and in a healthy manner.

i think the dragon fucking thing is the dumbest shit people have gotten on you for because there really truly is no real world equivalent to it. like yeah lizards exist but the biggest ones are about the size of a small or medium sized dog, and all without what likely makes a dragon sexy to you! which is the huge size and sentience and the sharp teeth and all that good stuff! it's just monster fucking to me. because what else is it comparable to?

also i honestly just feel like people want to have their morally right opinions in a community built upon critical analysis that talks about how problematic certain things are in these shows to a sometimes excessive degree for cartoons about demons in hell, while ignoring all the genuine good you've done for helping vivs actual victims speak out and have a voice/platform, to make them feel better about their critical voices, because you dont just. complain that viv is a bad writer who botches adult topics in her adult shows like a femcel 14 year old on wattpad. (although you still do that and it's absolutely warranted because she does, i just feel like part of the reason people feel comfortable coming to you is because you're honest about who you are and what you enjoy in fiction, you're mature enough to understand morality in fiction vs morality irl and the difference between it, and obviously the fact that you're an anonymous voice who can easily archive this info for years to come compared to other websites. and to me there's a major difference between the stuff youre writing and the stuff vivs writing based on scale and audience. you aren't going to make anyone want to fuck their pet lizards, but vivs certainly given lots of people a warped idea of consent and why someone should be harassed if you look at her likes.)

I think it's one of the more unsettling things they come at me for, because let me tell you, the idea that dragons = bestiality came up out of nowhere. A couple of years ago, the big trend in art/writing online was sexy dragons as the preferred love interest for princesses, and it was everywhere. And then, suddenly, they were problematic and I was getting 19 year olds arguing with me that it was "against federal law."

That weird thing you like, even if it's considered utterly vanilla today? I promise you, it'll be next. It's already starting to happen with anthros.

I think liking weird fictional things openly and unabashedly, and being able to argue in favor of why you do, is important. I think it's normal, human, and makes it makes everything safer on the whole, and makes it easier to root out the actual creeps.

Skylanders Review: Gill Grunt

Now that we got the golden boy out of the way, we can get into the things that aren't Spyro! And believe it or not, that has more meaning in regard to this series than you'd think - but no spoilers! Let's start with the second Skylander ever introduced, if you bought the base game anyways, Gill Grunt!

[Image: Gill Grunt is a bipedal, humanoid creature with fish-like features similar to the Creature from the Black Lagoon aka Gillman! He has webbed feet and hands, and rounded scales on his limbs. He has blue skin and wears clothing that's a darker, Royal Blue color. Alongside some belts around his wrists, ankles, and waist, he wears something akin to a janitor's jumpsuit with the legs and sleeves cut off. He has wide fishy eyes with yellow sclera and orange irises, alongside fins on his head resembling ears and a mohawk. He lacks teeth, but his bottom jaw has two tusk-like jutting points coming from the bottom lip giving him a pseudo-underbite. He lacks a nose, only having nostril holes in the middle of his face.]

I genuinely cannot tell what this funny fish man is wearing, but I think I've seen anime schoolgirls wear the same thing to battle so he's clearly prepared for anything.

Gill Grunt here actually enlisted in the "gillmen army," but met a mermaid on one of his travels and fell in love. He promised to reunite with her after completing his service but found out that she was kidnapped by pirates after he left. He continues to search for her to this day, and works as a Skylander to combat pirates to prevent this from happening again to others.

Sources vary on whether or not he'll ever find her, or if he did after his many rendezvous with Spyro and his clique. Maybe she doesn't want to be found because she heard about his gillman war crimes.

As a fishman, Gill Grunt is our first Water Elemental Skylander, armed with both a hose gun and some sort of weirdly shaped trident launcher. He's a cute little guy, and he's definitely a good example of the other Water elementals. His story is especially interesting, though unfortunately we never get a fully fish-tailed mermaid as a core figure in the franchise despite how obvious I feel that should've been.

Heck, his story actually lends well to his girlfriend becoming a Skylander if he ever finds her while on Spyro's adventure, but I guess a few upcoming Skylanders fill the niche of singing Ningyo for the franchise. And as a retired war vet, he has enough seniority that he can actually recruit other Skylanders (specifically other Water elementals) on Eon and Spyro's behalf.

Alternates: Gill Grunt gets a slight redesign for Superchargers, now wearing golden armor with a helmet and water tanks on his back. He actually wields a real trident this time.

It's said that Gill Grunt loves singing, which is also what his girlfriend does, but his entire species is tone deaf. The book says it sounds like a jellyfish gargling on seaweed, so imagine that, because I sure can't.

Motto: "Fear the Fish!" - Yeah, a lot of these are just vague and absurd threats but sure Gill Grunt. The ocean is scary, so sound advice. 4/5

Hey guys, I decided to try another top 10, and this time I'll be talking about my top 10 unpopular opinions. Now keep in mind, these are my unpopular opinions, so if you disagree with me, that's completely fine. Now without further ado, let's get to the list.

10. I hate Gacha Life

Yeah, I know I'm gonna get shot for saying this but I hate Gacha Life, In my opinion, it's overrated in a bad way, overused, and it really gets on my nerves. @asherbuddy uses this from what I've heard. Anyways, you won't be seeing me use Gacha Life AT ALL!

9. I find VHS better than DVD

As a kid, I always had a fondness for VHS, I especially loved seeing the nostalgic previews, the different promo material that can be included inside the VHS along with the tape, and the different colors that the actual tape can be. DVD on the other hand, I hate it. Discs get scratched easily, some previews can't be seen on DVDs. But yeah, VHS is my preferred format.

8. I like cartoony games better than games that are real

You know how I prefer animation over live action? Well the same could be said with video games. When it comes to video games, I prefer a cartoony and distinct style better than games that look real and boring. Games like any FPS game, feel like they look the same, and I find it overrated in a bad way. But when it comes to cartoony games like Spyro the Dragon or Crash Bandicoot, they have very unique styles for their games. So yeah, I would rather play games that are cartoony rather than games that look real, boring, and cheap for a quick paycheck.

7. I prefer Nintendo consoles

I'm a huge Nintendo fan, especially with their consoles. I always played them a lot even as a kid. As for the PlayStation consoles, I have played those consoles a few times, but as for Xbox consoles, I hate Xbox mainly because they have so many FPS's and I hate them. Nintendo's got a lot of distinct games which is why I've been on the Nintendo bandwagon for so long.

6. I prefer cartoons with anthropomorphic animals, food, or vehicles

When it comes to cartoons, one thing that I like seeing the most, is seeing different cartoon characters that are either animals, food, or vehicles. Shows like Elinor Wonders Why, Work it Out Wombats, or VeggieTales, make it different because they decided to try something different character-wise. But cartoons where it's nothing but humans, I get bored of it real fast. Although there are a few exceptions like The Loud House, Peanuts, or The Powerpuff Girls for example.

5. I prefer the original version of Super Mario 64 over the Nintendo DS remake

For those who've been following me for a while now, you'll know that Super Mario 64 is one of my favorite games of all time. Heck, it was thanks to Super Mario 64 that it introduced me to video games in general and I've played it countless times. In 2004, came the release of the Nintendo DS, and the launch title, Super Mario 64 DS, which is a remake of the original. But in my opinion, I prefer the Nintendo 64 original over the DS remake. The Nintendo 64 original is simple yet charming, but the DS remake in my opinion, there's been stuff that's either added or changed, and I'm not one for changes like this.

4. I hate RPG's as a whole

If there's a genre for video games that I hate, it's RPG's. I just find RPG's to be boring, repetitive, and overrated. Games like Final Fantasy, Paper Mario, and some others, are not really for me. I'm more of a platformer kind of person in my opinion. When it comes to video games, you won't see me playing any RPG's any time soon.

3. Thomas and Friends Season 6 doesn't look that bad

I know you guys are gonna kill me for this but I don't think Season 6 of Thomas and Friends is that bad. A majority of the fans say that the writing in some episodes is sloppy, the narration is flat, or the visuals are dull. But me on the other hand, I don't think it's not so bad. I think Season 6 has a majority of good or okay stories (except for Middle Engine. That story was shit).

2. Wilbur is underrated

Who remembers Discovery Kids? I know I do. One thing that Discovery Kids did on their channel was a special block called "Ready, Set, Learn" and there was two shows I enjoyed from the block, which were Peep and the Big Wide World, and of course Wilbur. When it comes to Wilbur, I feel like it's just underrated. The characters are quite cute, especially since Dasha's my favorite character, and the stories they tell have a good moral too. It just saddens me that this series doesn't get talked about as much as it used to back when it first aired.

1. I prefer the Lyrick Studios releases of VeggieTales episodes more than the Word Entertainment releases

When I was a kid, I had an unhealthy obsession with VeggieTales, especially when I first owned the episodes on VHS, specifically the Lyrick Studios releases. And as a kid, these were the best releases compared to the Word Entertainment releases. These Word Entertainment releases just don't do it for me. I honestly thought they lacked something, but when it comes to the Lyrick releases, they're amazing. Especially with the cover art for the different releases they had.

1 - A big traditional style wolf head with a dagger through the top, on my abdomen. This was my first ever tattoo and took two sessions to finish, actually my least painful??? I would do this again and again lol

2 - A mini Ghostface on my right ankle

3 - Another traditional wolf head (can you tell I enjoy traditional wolf tattoos oops) with a hatchet in its head, on my left thigh above my kneecap

4 - A skull of Spyro on my right thigh also directly above my kneecap, same area as the wolf head

5 - A tree frog wearing a cauldron as a hat on the side of my right calf

6 - A cowboy rat (again in traditional style) on the back of my left calf

7 - The shards of Narsil on my left shin (do I even need to mention it’s traditional style at this point lmao) ((also I absolutely love LOTR with all my heart so this is I think my fave tattoo))

8 - The words Live, Laugh, Lobotomy on my left ankle 🤠 I can’t explain this but my tattoo artist and I found it hilarious

piercings? I now only have my septum and my lobes done, but in the past I’ve also had both my nipples, smiley and cartilage done. I much prefer getting tattooed compared to getting pierced, but I’ve had my septum done for I think 11 years now?? I love it and will never take it out (mainly because I cannot figure out how tf a clicker ring comes out lmao)

7 and 10 for the Soulcalibur Asks

7. Who is your favourite guest character?

I was introduced to the Xbox version of Soul Calibur 2 first when I was `just past my toddlerhood, so I thought Spawn was pretty neat. I remember being mesmerized by the flowing cape in the intro. So basically while baby me was watching Teletubbies and Barney, I was also playing Spyro games and beating people up as Spawn in Soul Calibur 2.

But I guess the guest character that really takes the cake for me is Geralt of Rivia, as he's actually written into the lore of Soul Calibur 6 and we actually get to meet him in Libra of Soul. It was also fun getting my friends together in a Discord call to play his Soul Chronicle and talk about the crazy stuff he got into during the events of the Witcher games or series (I got the entire game series and I still need to get caught up with that, but I also refuse to touch Netflix or wherever the series is hosted).

10. Who is your favourite final boss?

It ain't Inferno. I see that guy in Versus Random Soul in 6 on a higher difficulty and I dip out immediately. But before I get to my favourite (because I get the feeling there's gonna be people that will never respect me again after this but fuck it), I have a bit of a tale to tell regarding Inferno. So I brought my Soul Calibur 6 stuff to the living room (it's the Steam version, so I had to borrow my brother's computer and grab an HDMI cord to play it on the big screen) and we did mini tournaments between me and my siblings. Later that night, two of my brothers started playing against each other and the younger of the two picked Inferno while I think the older brother of the two picked either Geralt or Raphael but I can't be too sure. Anyway, the older brother learned pretty quickly how stupidly OP Inferno is, almost on the verge of tears while the younger brother kept kicking the poor guy's ass. But what made this a little scary is the fact that the older brother did not give up AT ALL until he finally, FINALLY, wiped the floor with Inferno. And this is the guy I accidentally traumatized earlier ago with that trick Taki does where she's on the floor, then does the back kick where he least expected it and it ended in a ring out for him.

As for my favourite final boss...lemme just explain something, if I haven't gotten into Soul Calibur 6 today, I would tell you that my favourites would be Nightmare and Algol in Soul Calibur 4 (depending on which character you play or which route your OC goes) as they are part of my childhood and that sounds more honest than what I was originally gonna write for this ask due to a bad mix of anxiety, RSD and media literacy dying at a rapid rate nowadays.

But then I wouldn't be here writing for this blog, and I did end up getting into Soul Calibur 6, and my favourite final boss is Azwel in the Libra of Soul story. Well okay, he's technically not the final final boss because that title goes to Grøh, but the narrative built Azwel up to be this big climatic boss in Libra of Soul, so I guess that still counts! I could go on about how Azwel's kind of a guilty pleasure to me, because one: he's got interesting lore hidden away in the game's museum that gives us clues as to why he does what he does once you unlock everything and you get past the fact that he's a quasi-religious creep that talks too much and uses Soul Edge and Soul Calibur almost similarly Algol, and two: I am a huge sucker for charismatic and cunning amoral bastards in media, we're here to talk about bosses. I guess to me, where Grøh gives a grateful smile to the Conduit after using Soul Calibur against him in the Good Ending made the entirety of Libra of Soul a worthwhile game mode to play, it's also a cathartic moment to finally stand up and use either Soul Sword against Azwel after everything he's done to you and your companions, even his own Vanguard, the defiance against his attempt to use YOU to bring about the Ultimate Seed because it is YOU who gets to decide your own fate. And not only have you fought back against a dangerous enemy planning to make you his (my autistic ass thought he reminded me of that one Saints Row 4 quote about not knowing whether he wants to kill me or sleep with me, like sorry dude, your rizz stinks), you have also conquered the very thing you feared from the beginning: The Astral Chaos. Not only have you saved yourself, you ended up saving the world along with it.

Well, that's it.

These are the most famous haiku in Japan. There are four very famous warlords in Japan, they lived in the same era, and all four have different personalities. A poet wrote haiku about the case when they kept a little cuckoo as a pet and its little cuckoo did not sing as they expected.

(1)represents a short-tempered and brutal personality that is quick to kill those who do not get its way.

(2)represents the ability to think out of the box and accomplish what others think is impossible.

(3)represents the ability to persevere and wait for an opportunity to present itself.

(4)represents a character that is very considerate of one's friends, but is cruel to one's enemies.

Which of the above describes Toshihiro? If he does not fit any of them, how does he treat his little cuckoo?

First off, thank you for your support and your kindness. I always like to receive asks and the like, so don't feel bad about sending one, short or long. I always enjoy reading your comments in the tags too, they make me happy. This is a long answer.

1. Creation and design

Now to the topic, after @R3d1ke gave me the ideas for the names, that I never would have thought of by the way. I would have likely given them more western names which would have clashed with what the Nyakuza are supposed to represent in the first place, a Japanese cat mafia. I decided that one of the characters should be more Japanese themed, if that makes sense. I kind of created Toshihiro based off of the good stereotypes we Germans have for the Japanese, politeness, kindness, honor and a serious demeanor are associated with them here, so I decided that he should show those traits...at least on the outside.

He is supposed to show a front of a kind and polite, but a bit eccentric cat that loves art, which isn't entirely inaccurate, more on that later. His design, in my mind at least, you know that I can't draw well, was based on the same concept of a polite Japanese man. He wears a kimono, the pattern on it is inspire by the waves of The Great wave of Kanagawa'. To make him more interesting, I made him speak in haiku like the firefly NPCs in the level 'Spooky Swamp' in one of my favorite games of all time 'Spyro: Year of the dragon” which is the third installment in that series. The characters there have their text boxes show three sentences; the first one has five, the second seven, and the last five syllables again. It made his sentences hard, but fun for me to write and gave the character more personality, it was especially hard to not make the sentences to...simple, for the lack of a better word. Toshihiro was still supposed to sound like a sophisticated man, and not like a toddler that just learned to speak.

I'm really happy that you as a Japanese enjoyed that character, as I was trying to make my characters more diverse and interesting. Nozomi being a mix out of the crazy scientist and cold and calculated secretary archetypes, and Maemi being a non-binary character for example. I just hope that I didn't put anything that could be offensive in there, I know that my little fanfics don't reach a lot of people, but I do care about the few that read them and want them to be comfortable. I do have a tendency to write heavier subjects into my longer stories though, there is no good story without conflict after all.

2. His personality and backstory

As mentioned earlier, Toshihiro's outward appearance and demeanor reflect how we perceive the Japanese in my country, he is dignified, polite and kind, but that is mostly a front for his more...violent behavior. In reality, he is a calculated and very dangerous cat that annihilates every obstacle in his path. This can be seen in how he easily saw through Bow's diguise and knew that they were coming for him, so he sent his underlings out to deal with other adversaries while he wanted to take care of Bow personally. His underlings, by the way, are based off of ninjas as you see them in modern fiction, stealthy and deadly, I gave them weapons to reflect that too in form of the shurikens and kunais they use. The former being more of a ranged weapon while the latter is more of a melee weapon if I remember that right.

The Toshihiro in the story is a cold-hearted individual, who was once a kind and innocent soul, but his father and his peers tainted his character.

Bow in the story quickly realizes that something sinister and dark hides behind his eyes, something traumatic, and she isn't wrong. When he was a child, Toshihiro witnessed his father kill his own mother brutally, he was too young to properly remember that now, but that trauma is subconsciously still with him. Toshihiro was fond of art his whole life and really enjoyed drawing and painting, yet his father wanted him to take on the family business, like many parents of large companies want their first-born kids to do. He, however, wanted to become and artist, a dream that his father quickly destroyed by making sure to burn all his art supplies, so he could only ever draw at school. He didn't have it easy there either as the other kids made fun of him for speaking formally and more like a person much older than him would, that and the fact that to them he was the spoiled rich kid. His classmates bullied him and at home he was terrorized by his father...so when one day Empress found him on the streets and talked to him back when they both were roughly teenagers and told him to just do whatever he wanted to do, he took that to heart. He worked on improving his art, cutting the ties to his father as soon as he could. He later joined Emrpess's gang of cats, being deeply loyal to her for helping him. Toshihiro is known to be a bit of a freespirit, but he always completes his missions with perfect results...He just underestimated Conductor's accuracy and perseverance in the end.

While he was with the Nyakuza, he was polite to his allies, but emotions and feelings other than anger and coldness were simply...lost due to the trauma and the poor treatment he endured, he simply couldn't be compassionate anymore, that part of him was destroyed by both his father, and the cruel children that ridiculed him.

3. How he would treat that little cuckoo

Being that his compassion has been practically beaten out of him, he would likely kill it for not serving its purpose. His former self would have patiently waited until the cuckoo would sing its song.

In summery, he does care for his allies to some degree, but can no longer feel empathy. His sense of loyalty binds him to Empress, as he feels he has to repay the dept he owes her.

He kills his enemies with no remorse, he has some twisted sense of honor though, as he prefers to use his wit and more conventional means to beat his enemies. Kind of like a samurai refusing to wield a gun even if it was the more effective weapon, as his honor and pride wouldn't allow him to even if he died.

Well, that certainly was a long ask to answer, but I had fun going into depth and fleshing out my characters more. I kinda wished that I had thought of those three (Nozomi, Toshihiro and Maemi) earlier, but I'm never too confident in writing any Ocs into my works, because I don't know if people can engage with the character and find them fun to read about.

If you have some time, could you tell me how you felt when you read my attempt and including a Japanese-themed character? Was I offensive or did I do an okay job and made him fun to read about, even if he was just there for 2 chapters? I might try to include more Ocs in my stories if people like them.

after the comics end do you think the telltale walking dead franchise will continue in any way whether it be a tv show, a remake of the first game, or a port to new consoles

I want to say "No, they'll respectfully put it to rest after the comics end."

....but I know how this goes, we can never just let anything end when it should, not when there's money involved. Either something gets cancelled before it's time, or it overstays its welcome and gets milked into the ground.

I've gotten an ask about this and I've seen people talking about it, but with how popular that Last of Us show is [I wouldn't personally know as I'm still not planning on watching it] there's talk from fans of wanting a TV show adaption. Which, as I said before, I would be totally okay with them doing that for S1, and S1 only. It would make the most sense given the whole Lee and Clementine dynamic, Kenny's a fan favorite, and the storytelling is just fantastic. With a good cast, budget, and a whole lot of effort, I think it would be great. Whether or not that'll actually be a thing? I dunno.

And I know people would worry about "canon choices" being made in a TV, like if Lee decided to help Lilly save Larry in the show, everyone who picked to help Kenny would probably get pissy because fans hate feeling like their choices were invalidated, and fans who do feel their choices were validated over others usually can't help but be pricks about it, y'know?

But I've always said this-- The games are their own thing, your choices are yours, no one else gets to dictate what your canon is, and there is no set canon because that's not how that works, your canon is your own. It doesn't matter what the creators have said outside of the game, what matters is what's happening when you play.

As for comics, I do foresee more of those... because why would Skybound learn anything from the Clementine trilogy? It wouldn't be as bad if they could just pick another character to write these comics about, but Clementine is the face of the original games and she's likely to bring in a bigger audience.

I would like it if they branched out and did something with other characters. Again, Kenny's a fan favorite. Why not do a story about him between S1 and S2? How did he get away from the horde? How is he coping after having mercy killed Ben [or alternatively, after helping Christa escape] and how did he get out of Savannah? Could really get into his head and take a look at not only the horror of the walking dead, but the horror of losing a child, a spouse, everything and what it did to Kenny's mental and physical health.

Something like that could also appeal to an audience outside of TWDG fans, too. Like... that's something you have to consider, y'know? Because I could sit here and be like, "They should make a comic about the 400 Days cast! That would be cool!" but... who the hell is gonna really care about them? Even fans within the TWDG probably wouldn't give a shit because they're just not popular, therefore they would bring in less profit.

Let's see... a remake of the first game? Is that a thing people are talking about? I doubt that's something in the works, but you never know. Plenty of games have gotten remakes and done very well for themselves. The Resident Evil 4 remake just came out, and they have a history of doing remakes for their older games. One that really sticks out to me is the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. I was a big Spyro kid and the remake is really damn good. But yeah, I'm sure a remake of the first game could do well but personally, I doubt anything like that is being considered at this point.

And as for a new game? I dunno, whenever I browse youtube, sometimes I see very clickbaity titles like "TWDG SEASON 5 CONFIRMED???" or "TWDG S5 LEAKS AND NEWS???" or "CLEMENTINE WILL BE BACK????" and I just... never click on them because if there was actually a TWDG S5 being made, then why is no one else talking about it? No one in the main #twdg tag is talking about it, no one on reddit is, sooo...? Full of shit, me thinks.

Besides, I don't want a S5, especially with Clementine. She's done, let her rest, her story finished in The Final Season. If you have to do something, then put your big boy pants on and make an effort to tell a new story that doesn't rely on fans' nostalgia for Clementine.

Part of me is curious for what happens next, whether that's more comics or some other piece of media... the other part is just slouched in her chair making a >:[ face and grumbling incoherently.

🎶 What music do you listen to when you write? - Video game music, the most common choices being the OSTs of The Legend of Spyro trilogy, the first three Skylanders games, and Kirby music (especially Mass Attack). Basically instrumental music. Funnily enough I rarely listen to Sonic music even though I write Sonic fics and listen to Sonic music a LOT XDD (Except when I was writing Would You Love a Werehog? I was listening to the Spagonia music, the day version while writing the day scenes and the night version while writing the night scenes. I needed the correct mood.)

😭 Have you ever made yourself cry writing a fic? - Oh yeah, writing chapter 3 of Prophecy of Chaos made me tear up. It's a little funny considering that chapter 4 made the readers cry more, but I had no trouble writing that chapter XD But I think it's because chapter 4 had been planned from the very beginning, but the ideas for 3 came a little later (even though they were planned from the beginning as well but. You know.)

✏️ What is your fave fic from another writer? - If I have to name just one fic as my fave I think it would be But Next Time, On My Terms, I just love the idea of Shadow accidentally developing a habit of kissing Sonic during their fights. The angst of it hits so hard too, and I also love how Amy is written, like this is how I think she should be in Sonadow fics: upset at first, but eventually she'll make SURE Shadow treats Sonic right KJFHSJKFHKJ. Another fave of mine is Second Nature and I have to mention what you see is what you get (just a guy who loves adventure!) because MAN do I love aroace Sonic and queerplatonic Sonadow, and that one made me tear up.

🤔 What’s one genre you’ve never written that you’d like to try? - I know it's more like a trope or a structure, but 5+1. I really enjoy those, and I wanna try one if I get a good enough idea jhgdsjgfds. I'd also love to write a character study fic and a canon divergence fic!

❓ Write an alternate summary for a published fic without using names. (Points if your followers can guess the fic.) - Oh man I'm the WORST with summaries, usually my beta reader helps me with them but uh. I guess "without using names" means not using character names either? Uhh... A very touch starved boy gets a visit from his favorite bro and is very confused about his feelings towards him. Idk don't look at me I'm bad at describing things- (And yes I am a writer shhh)

Got tagged by @blossom-adventures to share 5 songs related to my current WIP; A Dream Come True. My taste in music is all over the place, and I don’t have a playlist dedicated to the fic, but there’s definitely songs that remind me of it.

1. Finding Meadow - The Legend of Spyro, Dawn of the Dragon OST. This song is stupidly gorgeous, like, it’s edgy Spyro you did NOT have to go this hard 😭 I played this game as a kid, but I forgot about this song for the longest time. I remembered it existed, finally found it and…actually burst into tears listening to it again. God, the memories. I used to stall playing this part of the game, and would just fly around to listen to it. The power some music has is indescribable. Link so you can find it, it deserves to be listened to.

I don’t usually do this, but I was actually going to recommend this song for chapter 12 of ADCT. It fits perfectly with the tender moments between Ardyn and reader.

2. Imagination (feat. Tim Henson) by Tilian. I just found this song a few days ago and I’m obsessed. It just sounds so good, it flows very nicely. I also like how one of the opening verses talks about fire, which of course made me think of Ardyn. Then the overall motif of taking it slow makes me think of my fic.

3. The Sailor Song by Autoheart. A quiet, soft song about not feeling like enough for the people we love. Ardyn still blames himself for what happened to Aera, and I often worry about not being enough for him, so it really fits him and the reader character. The opening lines are “I was your sailor, your demon, your lover…”, and it really strikes a cord as Ardyn to me.

4. Beautiful Times by Owl City. A song filled with tragedy and emotion, much like Ardyn’s story. Especially the lines “This fight of my life is so hard, so hard…” remind me of how much he just wants to rest. It makes me so sad for him. And it’s why I want to give him as much love as possible in my fic, to remind him what it feels like to be happy, to be loved.

5. Midna’s Lament - The Legend of Zelda, Twilight Princess OST. A sad piano riff that’s like an elegy to Ardyn. Mourning everything he was, everything he lost. It reminds me why I’m writing, why I’m fighting for him. He deserves to be happy, to be remembered for everything he was and is. Link for this one as well because for some reason finding a decent version of this song is hard.

I guess depression brain wrote this post lol. Sorry most of these songs are sad, or at least have sad undertones. Been feeling a kinda way lately. But yeah, these songs make me think of Ardyn, and why I write my fics. I’ll make up for all the suffering one word at a time.
