Buddie Dæmon AU where Eddie has a male Dæmon that settles as a Lion, of all things. All the shit he has to go through growing up in Texas like that. Locking him up in a moment of stupidity and running away, surviving somehow and thus completing the separation Ritual. (Practically unheard of. There probably aren't even any equivalents to witches)

His "pocket sized" dæmon being another reason he's very desirable to the LAFD because usually people with the temperament for it having big dæmons that make navigating fires and shit hell.

Eddie pretending to talk to whatever is hiding in his pocket occasionally, maybe he even has a special bag that is actually empty. Nobody knows what his dæmon looks like. There are bets. Chim is convinced it's a scorpion.

Meanwhile Chris is followed by a lion everywhere he goes, but at a distance unless he's with Isabel or Pepa, and maybe it takes until the Tsunami for everyone to figure it out when Eddie's Dæmon rescues Chris after he falls back into the water.

Hello, I'm aegoaceflux but I'm not sure about my romantic Identity. I feel romantic attraction I think, but I don't necessarily need romantic attraction for me to be in a relationship, and so I'm not really sure if I feel romantic attraction as I like romantic things and stuff and just watching people be romantic, and want perhaps to be in a romantic relationship, but also of the attraction I do feel I think the basis of my relationships is emotional and aesthetic (to some extent I honestly feel aesthetic attraction to a LOT of people), sensual and platonic. I think I would be perfectly fine with just a strong emotional relationship even if not romantic. Would there be any labels to describe any of these feelings?

I can relate to some parts of this ask, actually. I do go by orchidromantic, which is when you feel romantic attraction but don't feel a need for a romantic relationship. That doesn't really sound like your case though, but it's a thing. You do sound romance-favorable, which would mean you're favorable towards romance. Cupioromantic is the opposite of orchidromantic, which would mean you don't feel romantic attraction but would like to be in a romantic relationship. If you're not sure if you feel romantic attraction, it's possible you're not feeling it at all, so that's something you could look into.

I think most people, myself and allos included, feel a big mix of aesthetic, emotional, sensual, and platonic attraction towards their romantic partners/crushes. Allos just usually don't pay attention to that sort of thing cuz they never have to. So I think what your describing is a "normal" thing so normal it doesn't have a label I'm aware of. The only thing that makes it "not normal" in our case is, we're missing the sexual and/or romantic pieces of the attraction puzzle. Which is where us going by an aspec label comes into play. Unless you don’t feel any of the other types of attractions, or feel them in a different way, I don’t think there’s any relevant labels for your case outside of the ace and aro spectrums. 

Come to think of it, if there’s a label for not being able to differentiate between emotional and romantic attraction, that would probably be useful for the both of us because I have a hard time telling the difference too. 😅

I would say, the vast majority of healthy romantic relationships are also emotional in the way you're describing. And I don't see why someone can't happily be in a romantic relationship with someone they're not romantically attracted to, as long as there's still some level of emotional attraction going on. Like, emotional attraction is what would keep that relationship strong and long-lasting. Maybe it's the arospec in me, but the romantic aspects of a romantic relationship feel more like cake decorations. They're nice, but I’d still be happy without.

A strong, emotional relationship without any romantic stuff going on could be considered a queerplatonic relationship. So you could have a QPR instead of a romantic relationship. That might be worth looking into.

Like I did with The Rockies, The Hip Hoppers all have individual names, so let's go:

Jive (Hip Hopper 1/Yellow)

The oldest of The Hip Hoppers and their leader. The best at breakdancing and rapping, it was only natural he be put on the pedestal as the Top Hopper.

Thing is, he has severe anxiety. Like severe. He's passed out and thrown up from panic attacks before. He hides it well from everyone but his siblings.

He's in denial that he needs therapy or medication. Even though he once broke his leg and ended up physically sick because he couldn't dance. You see, breakdancing is an outlet for him, and it helps him keep calm. Without it hes....yikes.

He's AroAce, but desires a Queerplatonic partner.

Greaseball's gang moved on from Rusty once he won, and they started picking on Jive...

Jazz (Hip Hopper 2/Red)

The middle child of The Hip Hoppers. He's a hopeless romantic who prefers slow dancing and serenading music to the more modern stuff he's known for. They get those crushes so easily lmao.

Their current crush is Swift, the youngest of the Marshals and Trax's lil bro. Swift is oblivious to the fact that Jazz has made several attempts to seduce him or ask him out.

He's the most caring of the Hoppers, and is much more open about feelings than most freight trucks tend to be.

He loves freight cuddle piles, and often initiates them. He tries to drag a very confused Swift into them-

Juke (Hip Hopper 3/Blue)

The youngest of the Hip Hoppers, but also probably the toughest. She's only really doing the dancing and rapping for her brothers and would rather be chillin' with the engines or wrestlin' with The Rockies.

She has a girlfriend, it's Tassita the quiet car. Tass likes watching Juke workout and will occasionally join, but they usually just end up making out. They also love their picnics.

She's the most critical of racing culture out of the freight. She has no desire to race and doesn't like being asked to, she has and will punch arrogant engines in the face if they pester her.

She's a lesbian 💞

She will happily beat up the gang if they dare touch her brothers, her gf, or her cousin. Despite the fact that most of them are bigger than her, they fear her for some reason.

The other OCs are Krinn Varga, Alaric Von Moor, and Ruco (?) whose name is unofficial right now.

Madds is with Crosshair, and there is something queerplatonic involving Vesa but that isn't quite clear yet. Not sure if it will ever be. They're frequently bickering and Madds regularly steals his toothpicks. She's trying more elaborate ways to do so just to try and get him flustered.

Kez is dating Tech. Ruco is dating Echo.

Madds had a pretty normal childhood. I think her parents are still together and she has at least one sibling. She grew up lower class/lower middle class, and met Kez back in their school days (I'd say they were about 10 or 12 or something?). She has a good relationship with her family.

Kez does NOT have a good relationship with his family. He also grew up lower/lower-middle class in a semi-rural area. CHILDHOOD was alright, could've been better/could've been worse, but once he hit his teenage years it was all downhill. He is no longer on speaking terms with his family and he doesn't like to talk about it.

Vesa grew up upper middle class with at least mildly conservative parents. She went to one of those fancy private schools with school uniforms and navy blue sweatervests. For a long time she held the same views as her parents, but since getting out and seeing the galaxy she's gotten a lot more open-minded and left-wing. She's an only child and her parents weren't thrilled about her joining the GAR, but they weren't gonna lock her in her room or anything. She still talks to them, but not as often as they'd like to.

Zuli's relationship with her parents is... complicated. I haven't decided if she's lower/middle class or just middle class, but I do know her parents were strict. She had to choose a "money-making career path" even though her passion and talent was art. She probably has some minor depression or anxiety. Her parents fight, but they aren't divorced.

Madds: If they're on a planet for a while or if they have time, Crosshair will occasionally take her to someplace that would make a good sniper's nest. It's always quiet, peaceful, and secluded, and it always has an amazing view. Since Madds is usually so energetic, social, and busy, she's learning from Crosshair to slow down and appreciate the quiet moments. She usually brings blankets and snacks so they can sit there for a while. Sometimes Cross falls asleep when she's pretending to play with his hair (he got jealous of all the attention Hunter's hair was getting, so Madds now makes a habit of "playing" with his)

Kez: it isn't canon but i wrote a little college AU piece where Kez bought two tickets to an exclusive museum exhibit without any tour guide and they had a blast. It was something Tech really wanted to see, so to get to see it early was spectacular. He spent the whole time dragging Kez around and infodumping. Kez asked questions and Tech happily explained things and pointed things out. He didn't shut up until they were halfway home, but he looked so relaxed and happy with a big goofy grin on his face that Kez didn't care

Ruco: Ruco and Echo don't get to spend a lot of time together and I haven't written a lot for them yet, but I think Echo would say his favorite "date" with Ruco was when they first met. It's after the war, the team was taking a break, visiting some outer-rim planet for a little Festival of Light. Echo was about to commit a Domino Twin Act of Chaos, but then Ruco came up to him and shyly asked him if he would be willing to dance with them. And how was Echo supposed to say no? Ruco confessed that she was dared to ask him by her friends, and that they were so nervous because they thought Echo was so cute. Echo spent most of the night with them and asked for their comm info immediately after. They just clicked.

Ice Cream Headcanons: Accepting

Death By Chocolate: an indulgence/guilty pleasure headcanon.

The only indulgence Sonic might ever feel guilty for is when he lets himself eat unreasonable amounts of ice cream cake. Otherwise, Sonic happily indulges in whatever he wants with no shame. One of his favorite ways to indulge is to make himself a nice hot bubble bath and just soak. Maybe listen to music, maybe have a tray of treats near by. Said tray most often holds chocolate covered strawberries, cheesecake, or simply fresh cut fruit.

Funnily enough Shadow also greatly enjoys a nice relaxing bubble bath, but I'll give ya another one. Unfortunately, almost any indulgence or pleasure is a guilty one for Shadow. He's getting better about that, but it's hard for him to justify taking the time to indulge when he could be doing more 'important' things ( Rouge and Sonic especially are working hard to teach Shadow that self-care is important ). One indulgence Shadow manages to justify is reading. A comfortable arm chair, a mug of hot tea or coffee, silence, and a good book is pretty close to heaven for him.

Dulce de Leche: a happy/sweet romantic or queerplatonic headcanon.

Sonic may be an affectionate friend, but he will be way more affectionate to his lover. When he's in the mood to cuddle, he will be all over them, leaning on them, laying on them, or tugging them to lay on him instead, holding them close. He'll give casual little massages, even more of them if he knows his partner is sore, and there will be a lot of nuzzling his face into them, sniffing, nibbling, kissing. Physical affection is a big part of his love language, and it's a flood gate that's waiting to burst for this speedster. Whoever ends up romantically involved with him better be ready for it lol

One of Shadow's ways of showing love is taking care of his partner, in all kinds of ways. He'll do favors for them all the time, cook for them, make sure they're taking care of themselves (hydrating, eating, etc), take care of chores, all without being asked. He also pays extremely close attention to their body language, stance, fur texture, etc, so it will be easy for him to tell when something isn't right. Shadow will do whatever it takes to see that his partner is healthy and comfortable.

Strawberry Rhubarb Crunch: a mental health/neurodivergent headcanon.

During and after the war against Dr. Eggman and Infinite, Sonic developed depression. PTSD was something he already dealt with, but that too became worse after the war. Prolonged captivity did not do Sonic any favors, and it has been a huge struggle for him to get back to the point he is at now with his mental health. Hallucinations and nightmares have also been a big issue, although the hallucinations have gone down quite a lot. Sleep walking isn't exactly new to him, but it is more frequent, and now it usually involves very vivid nightmares, or more rarely, hallucinations.

For Shadow I'll focus on the neurodivergent headcanon. Shadow can very easily get lost in hyperfocus. When he is working, or even indulging in a hobby- for example, reading- he might not come out of it for hours and hours. Part of this is due to his lack of need for regular sleep or food, but that doesn't change the fact that he often feels like total ass afterwards. As well as he takes care of others, he isn't so good at taking care of himself sometimes.

Neapolitan: an intimacy/vulnerability (or lack thereof) headcanon.

Both Sonic and Shadow are fairly guarded individuals. They don't like feeling vulnerable, except with those they've come to trust deeply. At this point in their friendship, they have become that for each other. Shadow is still more guarded than Sonic most of the time, but he's a lot better than he used to be about opening up and being honest with the blue hedgehog.

Over all, it takes a long time for either of them to build up enough trust with someone to let themselves be vulnerable around them.
