REHEARSAL:
All dancers will need to arrive in costume by 9:45am.
Dancers who have multiple dances will need to bring a small laundry basket with their multiple costume accessories with them. Please make sure their laundry basket is clearly marked with their name, dance and accessories that goes with their dance in show order. This will make the transitions a lot smoother for the dancers who have very quick changes.
The laundry baskets will be left in the cafeteria or back hallway if you are an upper level dancer.
Once the show is over and the dancers have been checked out all costume accessories borrowed from NSD must be returned to the basket by the stage door.
Example of how to label your dancers laundry basket:
Cindy Lou Who
1. Tap – ugly Christmas sweater, black leggings, black jazz shoes
2. Jazz – green shirt, black leggings, black jazz shoes
11. Ballet – red shirt, black leggings, pink ballet shoes
Hair and Make-up – Dancers 8 and under – High Bun / Dancers 9 and older – Center part low bun. All dancers will need stage make-up. Dancers are welcome to add any holiday accessories to their hair.
Dancers will be in costume using items they hopefully already have at home. If you do not have the color t-shirt your dancer needs, you can purchase them for cheap at Hobby Lobby or Walmart. Hobby Lobby often has coupons for an extra 40% off.
A few classes will BORROW some accessories for the show. All costumes will be handed out during class in labeled bags. All costumes not returned the day of the show will be charged a $40 replacement fee.
Please see attachment for class costumes. Below is the show order.

Note
Do you have any headcanons for the Rockies or hip hoppers?
I Do!
They are all Poppa's bio children and Rusty's adopted siblings.
The Rockies are older then the Hip Hoppers.
Their names are based off of @goblinlovesmusicals headcanons for the characters. The Rockies: Rocky (Red, Rocky 1) Rocco (Yellow) Rocket (Blue) Roxy (Green). The Hip Hoppers: Jive (Yellow, Hip Hopper 1) Jazz (Red, Hip Hopper 2) Tune (Blue Hip Hopper 3)
Roxy is a girl.
Rocky is very over protective of his younger siblings, thinking he is responsible for them as the oldest.
Rocky is the most likely to threaten his siblings' significant others.
The other Rockies follow his lead but also love to tease him.
The Hip Hoppers took an interest in rap and break-dancing originally so they could stand out from their older set of siblings.

Summary: You and Hopper decide to go to a local jazz club for one of your date nights, and the jazz isn’t the only thing that’s music to your ears.

MASTERLIST
It had been about a year and a half since you and Hopper got married. While you never thought that the spice in your love life was lacking, the both of you had made a pact early on that the two of you would have a date night at least twice a month. Hopper was a sweetheart, managing to make those date nights a priority, always working around your schedule to make sure your plans were never interrupted.
You were currently sliding the ends of your earrings into your lobes, admiring the dangling diamonds of the jewelry that Hopper had bought for your anniversary. Date nights were your favorite time to experiment with your look, always wanting to make yourself look good for your husband. Your sex life was amazing, but you never wanted to miss a chance to make the man squirm for your seductive looks. You swiped your red lipstick along your lips before puckering them in front of the vanity mirror. Your eyes were drawn to the large man emerging from the bathroom as he sprayed cologne onto his chest. Once he connected his eyes with yours in the mirror, his mouth parted in surprise.
“Damn, baby,” he whistled, placing the bottle of fragrance on top of your shared dressed. “You know how red drives me crazy.”
You smirked devilishly, knowing exactly what you were doing to the man. You stood up, smoothing down the edges of your tight, red dress, which hovered just a few inches above your knee. You exuded class and sex appeal. Bending down to adjust the straps of your black heels, you looked up at him under your impossibly long lashes.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about, Mr. Hopper,” you chuckled before standing back up. Looking him up and down, you bit your lip, “You look absolutely delicious.”
His cheeks turned a light shade of pink as he looked down at his outfit coyly, adjusting the sleeves of his grey jacket. While the man pulled off a police uniform better than any other man you had ever met, you always melted whenever you saw him in a form-fitting suit. The contours of the outfit hugged his body in just the right way in all of the right places. If you paired his outfit with the way he styled his hair and trimmed his beard, you just wanted to push him into the bed and have your way with him.
“Thank you,” he murmured sheepishly before walking towards you, placing his hands gently on top of your hips. He bent down to chastely kiss your blushed cheek, your curls brushing the contours of his face lightly. “Are you ready to go?”
“Oh, I was born ready, Chief,” you teased, sending a wink towards him before you went to grab your matching clutch. With a lingering look, you pushed past him and entered the living room space.
You adjusted your attitude when you saw Eleven and Mike getting cozy on the couch, splitting a large bowl of popcorn as they watched the latest episode of Knight Rider. Bending down, you placed a kiss to El’s cheek and patted Mike on the shoulder.
“Are you guys all set for tonight?” you questioned, walking in front of the front door. “Do you need me to do anything for you before we leave?”
El shook her head as he threaded her hands in Mike’s curly hair, “No, we should be good.”
Hopper grunted behind the young couple, causing Mike to jump slightly. He joined you by the door before looking at the teenagers on the couch, puffing his chest out slightly when he made eye contact with Mike.
“I trust there will be no funny business after I leave this cabin,” he stated, no doubt trying his hardest to intimidate his daughter’s boyfriend.
Mike swallowed harshly, straightening his back as he nodded his head, “No, sir. Just a movie, and then I’m going home.”
Adjusting his mouth in a tight line, he nodded his head, “Good, because I have cameras all around here, and I’d hate to see my daughter’s boyfriend caught in a lie.”
You couldn’t help from a laugh escaping your lips as you saw Mike tense up. You smacked Hopper’s shoulder, “Stop teasing the poor boy.”
You looked at the both of them knowingly, before placing your hand on the doorknob, “You kids have a good night. Page me if you need anything.”
El nodded her head before resting it against Mike’s shoulder. You grabbed your hand for Hopper’s, ushering him out the door behind you. Once you closed the door, you followed Hopper to his police Blazer. He politely opened the passenger side door for you with a grin spread across his face.
Chuckling lightly into the cold air, you placed your hand against your chest, feigning surprise, “Oh my word, what a gentleman.”
You brushed past him and sat on the seat, crossing your legs seductively as he hummed, “Only the best for you, baby.”
He gently shut the door behind you before he jogged over to his side of the car. Once inside, he opened up the glove compartment and shuffled around for the mixtape he had made for the both of you after the first few months of dating. The tape had a mixture of songs that reminded you of your relationship with the sweet man. He pushed the cassette into the radio before he reached for your hand. Songbird by Fleetwood Mac began to play softly through the speakers before he reversed the car and began to drive.
You looked over at him with a large smile, “Have I told you recently just how much I’m in love with you?”
You leaned over and placed a kiss to the man’s scruffy jaw. Chuckling low in his chest, he squeezed your hand, driving towards the jazz club at the edge of town. You had been bothering him to bring you there for a few months ever since the lounge opened. All you wanted to was to pull the taller man into you as you danced the night away with him.
“I love you, too,” he replied. “That’s why I’m dressed up in this monkey suit about to dance with you, because, trust me, this would not happen with anyone else.”
You bit your bottom lip as your chest flushed at his words. The two of you fell into a comfortable silence as you listened to the soothing songs that filtered throughout the car. After about fifteen minutes of driving, he pulled up behind the bar to park the car.
After cutting the engine, he turned to you with raised eyebrows, “You ready to dance the night away?”
You nodded your head with excitement before he exited the car and walked over to your side to open your own. He held his hand out for you to take, helping you to exit the car. After he closed the door, he pulled you behind him and led you through the wooden double-doors that lead to the lounge.
The atmosphere of the club was incredibly intimate. The walls, which were made up of dark wood panels and lined with various musical memorabilia, seemed to cradle the space of the bar perfectly. The live band at the front of the lounge was playing a smooth song on a medium-sized stage, raised only a few feet off of the ground that was occupied by several couples intimately dancing with one another. Glancing your eyes to the other areas of the bar, you noticed several velvet-covered booths that were placed opposite of the wooden bar across the way. The bartenders were dressed in variations of black and white, serving mixed drinks to the patrons seated at leather barstools around the area.
“Oh my god,” you murmured with a smile before squeezing Hopper’s hand in excitement. “I’m obsessed with this place!”
Looking around at the environment, he smiled and nodded his head in agreement, “It’s really romantic. I’m glad you convinced me to come.”
He rested his hand on your lower back before guiding you to the bar. He ordered you both shots of whiskey before kissing your cheek and looking down at your body, “God, you look so sexy tonight. I can’t get over how good your ass looks in that dress.”
You smacked his chest playfully and giggled, “Oh my gosh, you have to stop. You’re making me blush.”
He leaned down slightly before whispering reluctantly into your ear, “Darling, I’m not going to stop until you’re blushing all over your body.”
Your stomach filled with butterflies, amazed at how flustered he still managed to make you feel despite almost two years of marriage. He placed a gently kiss to you neck before he dragged his hand to the swell of your ass, eliciting a quiet moan out of your lips.
The bartender approached with a grin, placing the two shot glasses down before you. You raised your shot glass to Hopper’s with a grin, “To a romantic night out.”
“I’ll drink to that,” he responded lowly, tapping his glass against yours before downing the bronze liquid down his throat.
Following his action, you let out a hiss after the glass emptied. You both returned the glasses to the wooden panels of the bar before Hopper took your hand and dragged you to the center of the dance floor. Pushing past warm and moving bodies, your own body filled with excitement at the thought of dancing with your handsome man. Once you found yourselves in the middle, he grabbed your waist gently and pressed his hips against your own. You raised your hands to wrap around the back of his neck as you allowed your hips to sway against his slowly and smoothly.
You looked up at him with a gentle smile, your eyes filling with love and adoration as you looked into his own. You found yourself getting more lost in the blues of his eyes every day you were with him, your heart beating wildly out of your chest as the intensity of his stare increased. He hummed in his throat before he reached his hands down to cup your ass playfully. You giggled before bringing his neck down toward you, pressing a deep kiss to his lips.
As the both of you continued to sway to the music, your kiss became more and more passionate, not caring about the other people in the room. His tongue massaged yours lightly, love blooming widely in your chest. You broke the kiss, rubbing your nose affectionately against his own.
He looked down into your eyes, his pupils slightly dilated as you could see the flicker of an idea flash behind them. He nuzzled his face across your cheek before he placed a kiss against your earlobe.
He began to rub his hands up and down your sides tantalizingly slow as he whispered lowly, “Damn, baby. You’re body is so fucking tight underneath this dress. Almost as tight…as that pretty little cunt of yours.”
Your eyes widened before you stumbled over your feet in shock. He caught you in his large arms as your face turned a shade of beet red. With a laugh, he pulled you close to his chest, returning his mouth to your ear, “Careful, baby girl. If you act too obvious, everyone on the dance floor is going to notice how wet you are for my cock.”
Swallowing audibly, you closed your eyes impossibly tight and bit the inside of your cheek to prevent the moan that was threatening to escape your lips. You loved when Hopper talked dirty to you, but he never did it in public. You weren’t sure how to act, especially since all you wanted to do was pin the man up against the nearest wall and suck him off.
You gripped onto his shoulders tightly, fearing that you would trip over your heels once more the next time he opened that sinful mouth of his. He looked down between you both, eyes focusing on the slight swell of your breasts that was peaking out from the confines of your dress, “You’re tits look so bitable behind that dress, baby girl. Want to wrap my mouth around your nipple and make you fall a part underneath me.”
Your lips parted slightly before you looked up at him with dilated eyes, “I-I-Thank you.”
He chuckled low in his throat before dipping you gently in time with the music, your body loving the way Hopper could just move you however he wanted. Bringing you back up to him, he pressed a kiss to each side of your lips, teasing your mouth before pressing a feather-light kiss to your red lips.
Nuzzling his face against yours, he whispered, “You just look so fucking beautiful in red, baby, but you’d look so much better with that dress on our bedroom floor.”
You felt a familiar heat pool in between your legs as you cupped the man’s jaw in your hands. Reaching your mouth up to his own ear, you felt inspired to play along with your husband’s game of cat and mouse, “Tell me…in detail…what you want to do to me, Chief.”
You felt a shiver run down the man’s spine, knowing the effect that title had on his arousal. He pushed your body out to twirl you playfully, trying to keep up the charade of a simple dance between partners. You soon returned to the warmth of the man’s chest and continued to sway to the music with him.
Leaning down, he pressed a kiss to your temple before he growled, “I want to rip off your panties with my teeth and kiss up your pussy until you’re so wet that you’re practically begging for my cock to fill you up.”
You whimpered against his chest, feeling your underwear become damp from the man’s filthy vocabulary. Your center throbbed with want, aching for every part of him to be pressed against you.
You whispered back against the man’s lips, “I fucking love you cock, baby. I love the way it feels filling up my pussy.”
The man swallowed thickly and groaned as he felt your hips buck up into his own to the rhythm of the drums that were filling the air of the lounge. Your entire being was suffocated by the notes of the soft jazz from the band and Hopper’s thick, sultry voice against your ear.
“Fuck,” he groaned out. “I just want to keel in between your legs, baby, and shove my tongue so, so deep inside that wet little cunt. I want to feel you all over my face as you fuck my mouth.”
You couldn’t take this intense act of foreplay any longer. With a whine, you parted your body from his, grabbing his hand and guiding him through the crowd of bodies dancing to the music. After pushing through, you both exited the wooden doors of the lounge and quickly trotted to the back of the building. Once you approached the police car, Hopper spun you around and pushed you up against the side of the door.
Attacking your neck with sloppy kisses, he growled against the rapid pulsation in your neck, “Shit, baby. You can’t even handle my voice, can you? Almost coming in front of all of those strangers in there. You didn’t even need me to touch you. You almost wet your panties just from my words.”
“Jesus, fuck!” you mewled, arching your back into the man’s chest as your hand fumbled for the handle of the backseat, “I-I need you inside of me. Right. Now.”
He grabbed your hips and began to rut his already-hardened cock against your bare thigh, his strong thigh rubbing deliciously between your parted legs, providing much-needed pressure against your aching center.
After managing to finally open the door, Hopper swung it open and practically threw you into the back seat. Climbing in after you and settling himself between your legs, he shut the door with the edge of his shoe. He roughly removed his suit jacket and tossed it in the front seat, revealing his tight-fitting white dress shirt. The first two buttons were already undone, showing off a piece of the delicious skin leading to his strong chest.
Grabbing him by the base of his neck and pulling him towards your mouth, you wrapped your thighs around his waist and thrusted your hips up against his cock, seeking any friction you could possibly receive. He slid his tongue inside of your mouth, the thick and wet heat of it rubbing against your own in a battle for dominance, which you happily allowed him to win. Sliding his large hands down the sides of your body, he pushed your tight dress up to your belly button, putting you panty-clad center on full-view. He reached his hand between you both and began to rub his thumb over your underwear harshly against your swollen clit.
“Fuck, baby girl,” he hissed. “You’re so fucking wet for me. You just can’t wait for my cock to fill up that tight little cunt of yours, can you?”
You whimpered, bringing your hands up to cover your reddening face. He brought his face down to pepper sloppy kisses across the revealed skin of your chest. As he suckled a bruise on top of one of your breasts, you began to unbutton his shirt, tearing it away once it was fully undone. You latched your mouth onto on of his nipples and scratched the untouched pectoral muscle lightly with a perfectly manicured nail, eliciting a moan from the man hovering over you.
“Baby,” he moaned. “Talk to me. Talk to me with that filthy little mouth.”
You growled against his chest, kissing along his clavicle and up his neck. You sucked his earlobe into your mouth before whispering, “You like it when I talk dirty to you, Chief Hopper? Like it when I whisper filthy things about my pussy in your ear?”
The man groaned, thrusting his hips against your center at a steady pace as you continued to release a stream of dirty words into the silence of the car, “You like it when I rub my pussy over your cock? Like when I lick up your cock, rubbing my tongue up and down your long, thick shaft?”
“Oh my fucking god,” he moaned in pleasure, arching his neck before reaching down to unbutton his pants and lower his zipper. He quickly pulled his swollen cock through the opening of his boxer briefs and guided it to your center, dragging your panties to the side as he rubbed the head of his cock over your wet lips.
“Shit, Chief,” you whined, reaching down to replace his hand with yours. “You’re so fucking big in my hand. You want to shove your cock in my pussy, baby? Want to shoot your cum inside of my cunt as I come around your dick?”
“Christ, you have a filthy mouth,” he hissed, sucking a hickey into your neck and you began to rub your hand up and down his shaft, thumb teasing the slit on top of the head of his cock.
“You want to put it inside, Chief?” you whispered, pulling him towards your soaking center, guiding him to rub his cock up and down your slit slowly.
Once he nodded his head, he began to push himself inside of you, causing you to clench down incredibly hard around his cock.
Bottoming out, he groaned out loudly, “Fuck, baby! You’re so fucking wet and tight. How are you still so fucking tight?”
He began to thrust in and out of you quickly, holding the back of your knees in his hands as the car began to rock with each of his thrusts. You arched your back, meeting his thrusts with your own hips, purring at the feeling of his thick cock sliding in and out of you, stretching you impossibly tight with each drag.
“I w-wanna make your pretty little pussy squirt around my cock,” he grunted with each thrust. “Think you can come for me, baby? Gush all over my cock?”
You closed your eyes in bliss, nodding your head before positioning your hips in a way that made Hopper’s cock rub harshly against your sweet spot. You cried out in pleasure, you thighs going limp. He held your legs up and above your head, driving into you roughly, feeling you begin to tighten around his dick.
“Oh, shit, baby,” he growled. “I can feel you getting close. Are you close, baby? Come for me. Come, baby girl. Squirt all over me. Make me wet with your cum.”
You cried out in pleasure, feeling the coil in your stomach snap. You felt the strong urge to release, prompting you to push through your embarassment and to allow yourself to let you. Coming around him, you clenched so hard around him that you pushed him out, squirting warmly over his cock and pants. He rubbed his cock in between your lips as you continued to squirt before he slammed himself back into you. You continued to orgasm as his pace and pressure increased.
You felt your eyes prickle with tears as the intensity of your orgasm increased, body beginning to shake violently as your body tripled in number of times you came.
“Oh. My. Fucking. God.” he whimpered. “You’re so sexy, baby. I’m gonna come. You want me to come inside of you? Fill you up with my come, baby?”
You sobbed loudly, covering your mouth with both hands as you felt a fourth orgasm ripple down your body, squirting weakly against his cock, “Oh. My. God. Come inside of me. Please, baby. Give me your come. Fill up my cunt, Chief.”
He moaned loudly, sound rippling through the atmosphere and making your ears ring as his body stilled against yours, filling up your still-clenching core with his load, coating your walls. He lazily thrusted in and out of you as he came down from his hight, loud grunts escaping his lips with each thrust.
Soon, the both of you returned to reality. His body slacked against yours as you threaded your hands through his now-wild hair. Looking around the car, you felt your face redden in embarrassment when you discovered that the windows had now fogged up and that the leather seats were now coated in your sweat and…other things.
This had been the second time that you had squirted when you were intimate with your husband, the first being during your honeymoon. You had been so embarrassed by it, not even knowing that you could do it. Ever since it happened, he had been to scared to bring it up in the bedroom; you had just assumed that he didn’t like it. Clearly, it had the opposite effect on him.
You placed gentle kisses along the man’s hairline, tipping his chin up with your finger to meet your eyes. Looking up under sleepy lids, he smiled like a love-struck school body, “Fuck, I love you so much.”
“I love you, too,” you giggled, pressing a quick kiss to his lips. “Shit, I love it when you talk filthy like that. Makes me so hot.”
“And I love it when you come like that,” he murmured, reaching his hand down to remove his softening cock with a whimper.
Looking down, he dragged his finger around your hole, collecting the dripping come on his finger before bringing it up to your lips. You greedily sucked his entire finger into your mouth, swallowing around him and moaning at the taste of his cum on his finger.
“You taste good, Chief,” you whimpered.
He chuckled low in his throat, “Well, thank you Mrs. Hopper.”
You smiled wildly, always loving being reminded that you were his.
“That was definitely the best date night that we’ve had in a long time,” he said, wiping his hand across his sweat-clad forehead.
You nodded in agreement, rubbing your hands up and down his chest affectionately. You pushed on him lightly, allowing you space to sit up. Reaching down to adjust your underwear, you looked over to see Hopper tucking his cock back into his pants before reaching over to grab his shirt.
Once he buttoned the shirt up, he looked over at you with a dopey look and gently caressed your hand in his, “You look so gorgeous when you’re turned on.”
You pulled your bottom lip between your teeth before you slid over to him, rubbed his thigh gently, and slid your lips in between his.
“So I must look good every time you’re in the room, then,” you murmured playfully against his lips.
“Don’t make me fuck you again,” he warned, removing your hand from his thigh.
“You say that like it’s a threat,” you teased, tilting your head in feigned confusion.
“Just wait until we get home, baby girl,” he said, reaching for the handle of the car door. “I’m gonna wreck you. You won’t be able to walk for weeks.”
You gasped and couldn’t help the smiled that grew on your face, “What about the kids?”
He winked at you, “Guess you’ll have to keep that dirty mouth of yours shut.”

Murray/Alexei Drabble
“You like him.” Murray almost dropped the radiation detector he’d been waving in front of Joyce’s face.
“What, no! I mean … I don’t … what are you talking about … it’s not …”
Joyce put her hands on her hips, a smile appearing on her face that reminded him uncomfortably off Hopper.
“You told me and Hopper to fuck on the way to the festival so you are not getting out of this that easily.”
He regretted many things in his life. Right now though he regretted nothing more than becoming friends with Joyce Byers. Joyce and her stupid fantasies about … about nothing.
“I don’t know what you’re-“ he began again, hoping his face wasn’t as flaming red as it felt like.
“Murray, what is jazz-er-cise?” He was interrupted by a curly-headed man peering out of his living room, talking slowly as he tried to work his way around the unfamiliar word. His English had improved a lot but his Russian accent slipped back if he didn’t know a word.
“I will tell you later,” Murray said. “This is another lesson about the American bourgeoisie.” Alexei nodded seriously but a small smile appeared on his face, showing that he wasn’t likely to take this one of Murray’s lessons any more serious than the ones before. Murray couldn’t help his answering smile.
It disappeared when he turned around and noticed Joyce who had been watching the entire thing.
She raised one eyebrow and immediately he felt his face flush again.
“Sexual. Tension,” she just said.
“I still have no clue what you are talking about,” he mumbled because he didn’t. Truly. And if he was looking forward to helping Alexei with the correct pronunciation of jazzercise then it was purely for the benefit of intercultural exchange. Yes. Absolutely. Nothing else, he thought. Only exchanges. Damn it, he thought, when he felt his face flush again at that last image.

Summary: What if Bob had an adopted daughter? What happens now?
Pairing: Billy Hargrove x Reader
Disclaimer: I don’t own anything. Not this show, not the characters. I don’t even own my cat. We’re just buddies.
Author’s Note: Why am I updating this so much? Also, feel free to let me know what you think! Also, this is turning into SUCH a long burn. But I like the fics that take their time. Usually makes it more realistic, in my opinion.
Word Count: 2,092
part one/part two/part three/part four/part five/part seven/part eight/part nine/part ten/part eleven/epilogue
Well. Shit. It wasn’t like you could just leave him out there. Of course, you actually could. Then again, you weren’t the kind of person to leave someone out in the snow.
“Fine.” As soon as he started to climb up the trellis next to your window, your heart started to race. What the hell were you thinking? If Hopper woke up... Or even El... You were screwed.
He suddenly appeared in the doorway, a sly smirk on his face. “Hey there, peaches.”
“I have half a mind to push you out this window.” Your arms were crossed over your chest, your eyes narrowed as you glared at him from where you stood by your desk.
Billy let out a breath, pulling himself completely into the room. “I’d really prefer if you didn’t. I like living, believe it or not.”
Your cheeks went red as you got angrier and angrier. “Are you always this much of an asshole?” How dare he. How dare he come in here and act like nothing was wrong, like he hadn’t left you standing in the snow. Maybe you should’ve left him standing out there, after all. Give him a taste of his own medicine.
He looked down and sighed. “Listen, I know I fucked up, and I wish I could tell you why I wasn’t there, but I can’t.”
“Did you find some other girl to fuck?” You bit out, your tone ice cold. He looked shocked by how hostile you had gotten, which was really starting to piss you off. Yeah, you were usually quiet, and a bit of a book worm. That didn’t mean you were okay with being treated like shit. At least, not anymore. “Let me guess, Carol gave you a call? Offered a quickie in the back seat of your Camaro?”
“Y/N, no, I--”
“Then what is it?!” Your cheeks were flushed, your heart racing.
Billy rubbed his eyes, letting out a grown. “Baby... Peaches...”
“Don’t call me that.”
“I wish I could tell you, Y/N. I just can’t.” He finally looked up at you, and you froze. It looked as though makeup had smudged under his left eye when he rubbed them, and you could see faint tinges of purple.
You rushed over to him, licking your thumb and reaching up to wipe it under his eye. He winced back, but didn’t fight it. Instead, he simply closed his eyes, clenching his fists as you wiped away the makeup to real a black eye. “Billy, what happened to you?” Your voice was barely audible, and every bit of anger you had in you disappeared. Now that you were up close, you could see traces of a fight. Other than the black eye, his lip had clearly been busted within the last few days and there was a cut near his hairline. Looking down at his hands, you could see it was one he clearly didn’t win, since they weren’t beat up from fighting back. “Billy...”
“I was getting ready to leave to pick you up,” he murmured, his hands shaking as he kept his eyes from meeting yours. He let out a bit of a weak laugh. “I spent two hours worrying about what I was going to wear, what my hair looked like. I even put on my expensive cologne.” You were watching him with huge e/c eyes, biting your lip. Billy seemed to be almost on the verge of tears. “My dad... He doesn’t like that I’m not doing as well in English as he’d like...”
“He did this to you.” It wasn’t a question. More of a statement. Just the look on Billy’s face told you that you were correct. You watched him shakily, not sure what to say. What could you say? You felt sick to your stomach at the thought of Billy getting ready for you, only to end the night getting beaten to a pulp.
He sniffled, shaking his head. “I, uh... I bought you flowers. I couldn’t find any roses, but I got you lilies. The one’s with the pink in the middle.” He now had tears falling quietly down his cheeks. “They’re all wilted and dead now on my bedroom floor. I’m sorry.”
You grabbed his shaking hands in yours, squeezing them tightly before rushing forward to hug him. “It’s okay. It’s okay, sweetheart.” You guided him to the bed, holding him in your arms as he openly sobbed. “It’s not your fault. I forgive you. I forgive you.”
You weren’t sure how long the two of you sat there before his tears stopped. It hadn’t been too horribly long, though. You were running your fingers through his dirty blonde hair, humming quietly to him.
“What are you humming?” You jumped a little as you heard his quiet voice. You had almost thought he had fallen asleep with his head buried in the crook of your neck. Your hand stilled for a moment, and he nuzzled further against you until you continued to play with his hair.
“It’s an old Billie Holiday song my mama used to sing to me when I couldn’t sleep or was having a bad day.”
“Will you sing it to me?”
You hesitated. That song had always just been for you and your mama... but Billy needed you right now. And part of you knew that you now needed Billy. You swallowed before beginning to sing quietly enough that it wouldn’t wake anyone. “I wished on the moon for something I never knew... wished on the moon for more than I ever knew... a sweeter rose, a softer sky, on April days that would not dance by.” You could feel his heart rate slowing down just a little bit as you sang, and you continued on. “I begged on the stars to throw me a beam or two... wished on the stars and asked for a dream or two... I looked for every loveliness... It all came true...” This felt so normal. So natural. “I wished on the moon for you...”
“I used to hate jazz.” You could feel him smile against your neck, his lips brushing against your soft skin.
You didn’t know why you kept holding him. “Yeah? Why’s that?” Your eyes trailed to the window, watching as the snow continued to fall outside.
“My mother used to listen to it, too. Her favorite was Duke Ellington.” Oh. Well, then. You realized his hand had come up to rest on your waist, rubbing little circles through the fabric of your sweatshirt. “She died a few years ago. Car accident.” He seemed so cold and detached when he said it, as if he were willing himself to not care. To be unaffected by it.
“I’m sorry.”
He hummed, pressing a soft kiss to your neck. It was sweet, though. Pure and loving. “It’s not your fault, peaches.”
You smiled at your new nickname. It was starting to grow on you. “What was she like?” Even if he was willing himself to not feel the emotions that normally come with an event like that, you knew he needed to get it out.
“She was... She was stunning,” he said with a grin. “I always thought she could’ve been a model. She was always the one telling the best stories at all the holiday dinners, and she made the best cookies.” You could feel both sadness and happiness radiating from him in this moment, which would’ve been confusion if you didn’t understand completely. “She was always taking me to the beach. We would make sandcastles and look for seashells. She’s the one who taught me to surfboard.”
After that, he went quiet, simply holding you closer to him. However, you could feel the unspoken question of what had happened to your own mother. “There was a fire. Mama and I were at home when one of the candles in the living room tipped over.” You bit your lip, your vision going a bit out of focus. “It was the middle of the night. The firefighters managed to rescue me, but mama died in the ambulance.” You cleared your throat, running your fingers through your messy hair. “After that, I came here. I was thirteen. Her best friend in high school, Bob, was my godfather.”
“And she was the one who got you into jazz?”
You burst into laughter, quickly covering your mouth. “She was always singing Billie Holiday or Ella Fitzgerald or Frank Sinatra. Mostly Billie and Ella. Said if I was going to sing any woman’s songs, it should be theirs.” Billy’s hand moved under your sweatshirt, but continued to only rub circles into your hip. His touch was warm. It almost felt like electric. “She taught me how to swing dance in our kitchen. Always said that I was her dancing partner, because men were no good.”
“I’m guessing your dad isn’t in the picture?”
You couldn’t stop the scowl on your face. “No. He left as soon as things got rough after I was born. Money got tight, and he left. Haven’t heard from him or seen him since.”
Billy sat up, pulling you onto his lap so you were curled up against him. “What a douchebag.”
“You can say that again.” After that, the two of you were quiet for a long time, simply holding each other. That is, until you felt the need to break the silence. “Billy, what is this?” You leaned back a bit so you could look up into his eyes.
He thought for a moment, his eyes staring into yours. “This is two hurt people comforting each other. One is a much better person than the other, but the shitty one is grateful all the same,” he teased, trying to lighten the mood.
“Billy.”
The boy holding you against his chest let out a long breath, looking away from you for a second. “I don’t know.” You started to get panicked, thinking he was going to tell you this was nothing, when he continued, “But what I do know is that I want to take you out on a date. A real one where I pick you up in my car and I come to the door and I knock and face Hopper’s wrath for taking you out before I give you flowers and take you somewhere special. And I’ll even have you home by midnight.” He pulled away from you, pushing a strand of hair away from your face. “How does that sound?”
You nodded, cheeks pink as you looked up into his eyes. You thought he was going to lean in and kiss you, but instead pressed his lips against your forehead softly. “Y/N, you need to go to bed.”
You immediately pushed away from him, shaking your head. “I’m not letting you leave. This snow is too dangerous.”
He rolled his eyes, smiling a bit. “What do you suggest I do then? I can’t exactly stay here.”
“You could stay on the couch.”
Okay. That was a stupid idea. You knew that even before Billy raised his eyebrows at you.
You shook your head as your fingers wound through his curls. “I’m serious. If I explain to Hopper what happened in the morning, neither of us should die.”
He contemplated it before you gave him your puppy eyes and he rolled his eyes before nodding in agreement. “Fine, you little minx.”
You smirked triumphantly before you got up off the bed, grabbing a pillow and one of the extra blankets you had. The door to your bedroom creaked open softly as the two of you slipped out to the living room. You set up the pillow and blanket before being pulled into Billy’s arms. “Goodnight, peaches,” he whispered, kissing your cheek.
“Goodnight.” You let go of him slowly, shaking your head as you went back to your room. You left the door slightly cracked, just in case something happened and he needed you.
You crawled back into bed, managing to fall asleep while staring up at the ceiling with a dumbstruck smile on your lips.
The next morning, you were rudely awoken by Hopper shouting.
“Y/N!”
Fuck.

Gimme some Hip Hopper head canons thank you✨
OK I HAVE SO MANY
First off, they're Dustin's annoying little cousins. Their home yard was going through tough times so their parents sent them to Apollo Victoria.
Like I did with The Rockies, The Hip Hoppers all have individual names, so let's go:
Jive (Hip Hopper 1/Yellow)
The oldest of The Hip Hoppers and their leader. The best at breakdancing and rapping, it was only natural he be put on the pedestal as the Top Hopper.
Thing is, he has severe anxiety. Like severe. He's passed out and thrown up from panic attacks before. He hides it well from everyone but his siblings.
He's in denial that he needs therapy or medication. Even though he once broke his leg and ended up physically sick because he couldn't dance. You see, breakdancing is an outlet for him, and it helps him keep calm. Without it hes....yikes.
He's AroAce, but desires a Queerplatonic partner.
Greaseball's gang moved on from Rusty once he won, and they started picking on Jive...
Jazz (Hip Hopper 2/Red)
The middle child of The Hip Hoppers. He's a hopeless romantic who prefers slow dancing and serenading music to the more modern stuff he's known for. They get those crushes so easily lmao.
Their current crush is Swift, the youngest of the Marshals and Trax's lil bro. Swift is oblivious to the fact that Jazz has made several attempts to seduce him or ask him out.
He's the most caring of the Hoppers, and is much more open about feelings than most freight trucks tend to be.
They're non-binary and use He/They pronouns. He's also gay af-
He loves freight cuddle piles, and often initiates them. He tries to drag a very confused Swift into them-
Juke (Hip Hopper 3/Blue)
The youngest of the Hip Hoppers, but also probably the toughest. She's only really doing the dancing and rapping for her brothers and would rather be chillin' with the engines or wrestlin' with The Rockies.
She has a girlfriend, it's Tassita the quiet car. Tass likes watching Juke workout and will occasionally join, but they usually just end up making out. They also love their picnics.
She's the most critical of racing culture out of the freight. She has no desire to race and doesn't like being asked to, she has and will punch arrogant engines in the face if they pester her.
She's a lesbian 💞
She will happily beat up the gang if they dare touch her brothers, her gf, or her cousin. Despite the fact that most of them are bigger than her, they fear her for some reason.

12/10/19 Art History.
I have attached picture’s of all of my notes from today as I really enjoyed learning about art in New York which then lead to me writing a lot of notes, so instead of just re-writing them all I’m just going to go a bit more in depth on my favourite artist’s we looked at today.
So New York became a great place for artists to travel to in the 1930′s to 1980′s. Artist’s moved to New York because of the cheap accommodation; the cheap studio spaces; the booming economy and amazing trade setup. Art schools were still around whereas they were no longer available in Europe. Museums, art dealers and patrons were easily accessible which allowed artists to make bigger networks within the city. New York was an incubator for radicalism, new ideas and political movements allowing artists of all genders and races to be able to present their work.
The Harlem Renaissance was a big art movement during this time as African Americans were migrating to New York to escape slavery. Jazz music was at the foundation of all of this and has carried on to today’s music and underlies majority of all hip-hop music. The first painting we looked at was Lois Mailou Jones. The Ascent of Ethiopia 1932, oil on canvas. This painting shows Africa being represented at the bottom of the piece with small figures cowered over representing the slaves, which then moves on to them rising up and heading to the big city of New York where you can see the sky scrapers and all the arts presented in different ways. I find this piece to be so interesting as it tells a story throughout the whole canvas. Everywhere you look there is a new figure or symbol to represent the the great migration. I wasn’t really a fan of the colours that were used in this piece though as I feel they are very cold and melancholic colours. I understand the dark blue at the bottom of the painting as it is suited for the hard and sad times that are being represented but I think maybe on the descent up to New York warmer and brighter tones could have been used to show happier times on the horizon and to represent the warmth of the city.
We also looked into American Realism and Edward Hopper’s Nightwalks 1942. American Realism showed the everyday life of ordinary people in New York through all mediums like paintings, writing and poetry. Hopper’s work showed the American culture in bars and presents the feeling of loneliness and isolation. Especially in his Nightwalks piece. This painting really gives off melancholic feelings as the piece shows it’s dark outside, there aren’t many people around and the colours he has used are so muted and dull that it automatically gives an eery feeling. This painting is so simple in it’s structure but the unnerving nature of it allows your imagination to make up meanings of what you think is going to happen or has already happened. This allowed us all to have great discussions on this piece in the lecture. Like someone coming up with the idea that right after this piece a drive by shooting is about to take place. My viewpoint on what is happening in this piece is that it’s a late night and the couple seen could either be an affair taking place or the red hair and the red dress could symbolise a prostitute. I do really like this piece and the different stories that you can gain from other peoples views of the painting. I enjoy looking at Hopper’s work but I don’ think I would ever try and use the same style of simplistic painting or painting a scene in general as I’m too much of a messy artists to be able to try and create anything as smooth and detailed as his work.
There were many other pieces we looked at today but these were the ones that stood out to me the most and that I was able to associate my own interests with. Other artists we looked at during this time period were Kenneth Noland, Drought in 1962; Mark Rothko 1968, Helen Frankenthaler New York Bamboo 1957, Norman Lewis Phantasy II 1946, Andy Warhol Marilyn 1967, Roy Lichtenstein Drowning Girl 1963 and Emma Amos Sandy and her Husband 1973. All of these artists and their different pieces were very intriguing and helped to generate great conversation during the lecture and I think that is what I enjoy most about our art history lectures. Interacting with other students and understanding what they see really helps to broaden my own views on what I understand and take from looking into artists work.
Overall it was a really interesting lecture today and I had ideas about doing New York for my poster assignment but now I think I would like to look into the Black Power Movement in Chicago to add more to my knowledge on how black artists have been underrepresented in history.

Dancewear Market Growth To Remain Stable During the Projection Period 2018-2026
Dancewear includes clothing items generally worn by dancers. The different items of dancewear include dance shorts, dance shoes, tutus, arm warmers, tights, legwarmers, leotards and unitards, and dance belts. The dancewear style varies based on different dance types. For instance, the ballet dance form comprises proper dance attire which includes wrap-around ballet skirt, leotard, tights, and ballet slippers. Tap dance Leotards dance attire can include short-sleeved, long-sleeved or sleeveless attires and are available in different ranges of colors (pink or black) depending on the ballet dress code. Therefore, it is important for dancewear to be breathable, lightweight, and stretchy to provide dancers with freedom and comfort of movement.
Dancewear must fit properly, and leotards or tights should be tight fitting but comfortable, and not baggy or loose fitted. Furthermore, jazz dancewear generally includes a form tight top with jazz pants or leotard with tights, and soft, comfortable leather shoes. Jazz pants are mostly black colored, slightly flared at the bottom, and form fitting at top. Dancewear or dance clothes for other dance forms are not traditional style but are expected to follow the basic elements of the dancewear which consists of breathable and comfortable fabrics. For instance, hip hop dance style students often have the freedom to wear loose fitted and baggy clothes. Students of various other modern dance styles choose to wear a foot thong, whereas hip hoppers opt for runners. Furthermore, lyrical or modern dance attire is expected to include a form fitting top or leotard, stretchy pants, and footless tights.
Increasing awareness about health benefits has encouraged people to opt for dance as a form of exercise, which is expected to positively influence the dancewear market growth over the forecast period. People are majorly adopting dance forms such as zumba to reduce weight, burn calories, and to stay fit. Furthermore, various health benefits associated with dance such as improved muscle tone and strength, better condition of lungs and heart, and aerobic fitness is also influencing the adoption of dance. Employees of private company are majorly adopting dance forms as part of their style status in their schedule. These factors are further projected to boost the dancewear market growth in the coming years. Additionally, increasing inclination toward zumba as a part of exercise has led people to join fitness programs for zumba which incorporates soca, hip-hop, salsa, samba, mambo, and merengue. This in turn is projected to boost the market growth over the forecast period. Furthermore, schools are also including various dance forms such as ballet, salsa, rumba, samba etc. and different ballroom dance forms such as waltz, quickstep, foxtrot etc. for their students, since it helps to reduce stress, ease anxiety, and boosts confidence. This is further expected to spur the dancewear market growth in the coming years.

So You Think You Can Dance S14 - Academy pt 2
62 contenders are left. Some are already on teams, some are still trying to prove their worth. They will go through contemporary then ballroom choreography, then will be put into groups (the ONE thing they kept from Vegas, and one of my favourites, so than you Fox).
One of the first girls to perform the contemp piece is Taylor Sieve from the LA auditions. She told Cat at the auditions she hopes Robert picks her to be on his team. Finally, some hope for that guy.
But Arielle from NY is let go, as is CHAZ WOLCOTT :( :( :( bye Chaz. He crashed out of hip hop and didn’t have the most stellar contemporary. I love his raglan though.
Havoc, a hip hopper from the NY audition is asked to dance for his life aka perform a solo. He impresses with it and gets onto Team Cyrus. His audition partner Klassic didn’t have too good a contemp round and is let go.
The end of the contemporary rounds leaves 18 dancers without teams and ten spots left (coincidentally, 1 for each all-star).
The ballroom round is taught by Dimitry Chaplin and Jenya.
Jenson Arnold hasn’t been put in a team yet, and performs with Allison’s Logan Hernandez. Finally, Robert gives a long long long winded
Kristina is on Team Paul, but her husband Vasily hasn’t gotten a team yet and is partnered with Koine who is already on Team Marko. He missed a step somewhere in the middle and the all-stars aren’t really impressed. Gaby is halfway through telling him the bad news when Paul has a change of heart and puts him on his team as well.
Alexis Gilbert from LA is still looking for a team. Jenna asks her to join her team.
Abby Griffin, ballerina, goes to team Allison, and ballroom dancer Magda (who auditioned with Kiki) goes onto team Gaby.
Now each all-star’s team works overnight to create a group routine. At the end of the round, one dancer from each team will be eliminated.
First to go is Team Paul: Kristina and Vasily, Sydney (didn’t see her audition, looks like Ariana Grande, wore a red tracksuit for hip hop round) and Ramita Ravi (Indian dance/contemp dancer). We hardly saw Ramita throughout academy week so far so I thought she wasn’t picked, and this was a pleasant surprise. She held her own in a ballroomy routine against three other ballroom dancers. At the beginning of their rehearsals, the married couple argued like a, well, married couple. I agree with Paul, I expected more from this dance. It looked pretty nice in the beginning but became underwhelming. At the end, Vasily is cut. Well he had the least hip action in the quartet so I’m not surprised.
Next, Team Allison: Logan Hernandez, Abby Griffin, Zachary something (contemporary dancer) and Kevin Davis Jr, the krumper who had like, 5 people fighting for him. Logan, who’s apparently been on Shaping Sound, was appointed to lead choreography, which seems like a smart move. No one stuck out in particular, but Allison lets Kevin go...and...Jenna steals him. So they have steals now? But that means two of Jenna’s current team will have to be cut then. Their group dance was really nice to watch. In the end, Alexis and a JJ are cut.
Other (notable) cuts: Jensen, Magda.
Next week there will be jazz with Sonya Tayeh, then I think one more cut, one last solo, then the all-stars choose their partners for the live shows.

Talking ‘Bones
By Jeff Lindholm, Burlington Writers Workhop
A preview of Trombone Shorty, who plays the Burlington Waterfront for Discover Jazz Festival on Thursday, June 8. Tickets and information are available at www.flynntix.org.
Who is this Trombone Shorty guy? What’s with that name?
You’d think the “Shorty” part of his name doesn’t matter. That it’s the “Trombone” part that counts. But Troy Andrews, from New Orleans, Louisiana, got dubbed “Shorty” because he started pretty dang young.
He was born in 1986 into a well-known musical family. His uncle, Jessie Hill, was a noted R&B singer, scoring a hit with Ooh Poo Pah Doo in the early ‘60s and his older brother James was a jazz trumpeter. With that pedigree, Troy was reportedly doing professional gigs at age five. Five! Hence the name “Shorty,” which stuck.
As for the “Trombone” part? Well, the trombone is not in the top tier of instruments, in jazz, blues, rock, or other idioms. When rock and blues bands have a horn section, it’s usually saxes and trumpets. And that’s what you usually hear in jazz bands, too. Trombones, with their slide mechanisms, sound a bit different, and they can be harder to master.
But trombones in New Orleans music were fully accepted horns, right up there with saxes and trumpets, as were clarinets, but we’re talking ‘bones here. Which brings me back to Trombone Shorty—who plays trombone, all kinds of trombone.
Andrews is melding the worlds of traditional New Orleans ragtime music, hip-hop, rock, the jam band scene, and more. He’s played with a wide range of artists, from New Orleans’ Rebirth Brass Band and Cyrille Neville to rockers like Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart. Earlier this year, he and his Orleans Avenue band did a run of shows with rock hip-hoppers the Red Hot Chili Peppers, to much acclaim.
Orleans Avenue includes tenor saxophonist B.K. Jackson and baritone saxophonist Dan Oestreicher, who combine their low tones with Shorty’s growl to produce what Downbeat magazine called “the horn section of doom.” The band also includes Dwayne “Big D” Williams on percussion, bassist Mike Ballard, drummer Joey Peebles, and guitarist Pete Murano.
Even though he’s relatively young, Andrews has put out seven studio albums and a few live discs since his first, Trombone Shorty’s Swingin’ Gate, in 2002, at age 16. The latest, just out, is Parking Lot Symphony, his first for the very esteemed jazz label Blue Note. The AllMusic Guide says that on this album, Andrews “fully embraces the organic '70s-style R&B...on a set of songs that bring to mind the earthy, vinyl-laden vibe of '70s artists like New Orleans own the Meters,... [but] hasn’t abandoned his crossover, hip-hop-inflected sound.” The album consists of thirteen Trombone Shorty original songs, plus a version of Allen Toussaint’s On Your Way Down, with Shorty on piano.
We’ll likely hear all of this and more at Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue’s Jazz Fest gig.

REHEARSAL:
All dancers will need to arrive in costume.
The laundry baskets will be left with in the cafeteria or back hallway, if you are an upper level dancer, after rehearsal so it is ready for you at show time.
Once the show is over and the dancers have been checked out they can go back stage and retrieve their basket.
Example of how to label your dancers laundry basket:
Cindy Lou Who

Saturday, November 14th 9-11am - During rehearsal we will run the show twice according to the schedule below.
Hair and Make-up – All dancers will need to have Who hair and Who make up. The easiest way to accomplish these styles is a fun and crazy hair do with bright make up and rosy cheeks. I recommend you google pictures of the Whos for fun ideas.
Dancers will be in costume using items they hopefully already have at home. If you do not have the color t-shirt your dancer needs you can purchase them for cheap at Hobby Lobby or Walmart. Hobby Lobby often has coupons for an extra 40% off.
I have purchased some costume for a few classes to BORROW for the show. All costumes will be checked out the day of the show and returned the day of show. All costumes not returned the day of the show will be charged a $40 replacement fee.

After the final bow all dancers will be directed back to the cafeteria to pick up their belongings and meet their families.
Once Tiny Tots and Houston 3-5yr olds are done with their performance, parents are welcome to check their dancer out and return to the auditorium to finish watching the show once the dancers are checked out they are to remain with their parent for the rest of the time at the auditorium, you cannot check your dancer back in for final bow. If your dancer chooses to remain in the dressing room (cafeteria) please pick them up immediately after the final bow.
