Not me doing all the calculations of what I’d have left over wage wise if I were to lower my hours up to 9hours less and noting that I will still be able to live comfortably (i dont...spend...like anything....so-y’know)
but I still won’t be able to get the courage to ask for less hours because it is still like 300€ less and I haven’t even checked how it’d affect stuff like my pension (i have private insurance set up anyway bc it won’t be enough no matter what, but still)+ we already have a whole new schedule which let’s us have 2 days of ‘only’ 6hours of work, with the rest at 9 so it still comes up to 39hours

i have tuesdays off (unless its a saturday off but thats a whole other spiel), and wednesday is a short day of 6hours
i COULD ask for that to just...be down to 0 so I’d have 32hours a work week, but then i’d have 2days off in a row and I’d stay for the short saturday where we usually are understaffed anyway
but also we aren’t allowed to hire new staff and our regional boss hinted at replacing or just removing staff bc...idfk, money?
they aren’t even willing to pay travel expenses for the staff that has been explicitly hired TO travel to different locations as needed in case of shortage
so it’s all going downhill anyway which is stressful but mostly annoying because I don’t wanna switch to a place that’s even more stuck up so i might as well switch my whole career but that’ll take at LEAST another 3 years of shit for all money but the same if not more stress

What inspired your currently coloring style? I'd love to know your process and who/what inspired you to gain such a beautiful way of depicting your characters. What is your process for practicing anatomy as well? Love your stuff!
THANK YOUUU I've always chased the Movie Screenshot look but im recently working on the barrel of worms that is color theory and the way lighting/shadows affect different surfaces. My go to rn is rim light sksksk but im kinda itching to do more challenging lighting scenarios its just a matter of pin pointing What to study and taking the time 🤙 so i guess a movie look and noticing interesting lighting/shadows throughout my day and trying to apply that in drawing form 🤘 as for the anatomy I like to take a scientific approach to it like studying the muscles and where they stack up, how they can move even down to the positioning of the tib and fib, or just real life references or hell sometimes i gotta look at my own arm to grasp wtf a pose is lmfao but i also recommend loose gesture drawing and grasping the overall flow of a pose or limb it rlly helps keep your hand loose and relaxed and can piece the drawing together easier and faster
#basically the way that things can completely change colors in certain atmospheres fascinates me and i wanna learn how to do it too#impressionism i think the practice is called if im regurgitating art shit properly#and like i Know being glued to the multiply and add layers is limiting me from rlly goin crazy with colors and i feel like my brain is#just now accepting that now its just up to me to get off my ass and learn

Jeepers Creepers (2001) & House of 1000 corpses (2003) etc really put spn into perspective. Later seasons were very obviously daytime tv inspired (shoddy sets, relying heavily on bad cgi or a very limited costume department, extremely bright super detailed shots, but also just the acting, plots, side characters etc all follow a OUAT, Teen Wolf, random doctor show that airs daily format. lots of talking, lots of random plots), but in the first seasons you can feel this early 2000s Americana horror background. It's really interesting to see, it contextualises a lot.
But apart from that analytical aspect, it's also really inspiring. Imagine what could've been. (on that note: I feel like the Conjuring franchise is a good example for what Americana horror was doing in the 2010s and onward. that also would've been a fun route for spn to take. too bad!)
#the later seasons are just not scary. they just aren't#it's mainly talking.#and I do have a soft spot for conjuring - I think they did something VERY fun with atmosphere etc#imagineeeeeeeee ugh#instead of all this stupid angel demon bs. imagine if we had gotten the creatures that grow in the shadows#ughhhh I LOVED that scene in...the one conjuring that takes place in their home? is it 3? Ugh it was lovely#and the painting of course. that was fun too. I think they ripped that off in IT but in a cute way. Modigliani reference I still adore#or the stuff they do with the ghosts walking background. I'm always a sucker for that#more of THAT would've been so so so so so fun#but no. we have to look at Crowley and his mom doing shoddy politics for 45 minutes#BLEAK#anyways I just watched house of 1000 corpses in case you couldn't tell#and I do find it very goofy and funny obviously. but the sweat! the blood! the dust!!! the cluttered spaces!!!!#oh it's all so fun.#clown boys

Is it just me or do new-engine video games feel like they're getting worse rather than better. Like yeah the textures and physics and FX themselves are improved, but at the same time why does it feel like I'm playing a game from 2001. Something's wrong here.

#drop#feeling immensely nostalgic for pre isat release days... i only got into it in like mid 2023 and never participated in the fandom#but it was so fun to theorize#and sasasap brings out a very Particular kind of illness within me.#isat is obv the better game and i love it (obviously) but every time i think about sasasap for just 1 second i explode.#just. auuuogh. i love the atmosphere of it. i love how you can tell there were things before the loops but it doesn't feel like it#i love how you're just. thrown into it. you're not ready. you're never ready.#i really love how sasasap (though probably unintentionally) tells its story by Not telling you things#and only doing offhand mentions when it does. because it doesn't matter to this siffrin#like... the way the ability to choose where they loop back is mentioned vaguely once#and again!!@!! thw fuckig atmosphere!!!#it's so stifling!!!! you feel so trapped!!! everything feels so small!!!!!#and with things like the unskippable dialogue (like it or hate it) it really all just feels so miserable to get through. in a good way#and the lack of guidance. it's nowhere near as obvious in sasasap if you're doing a certain route#and there's so many rooms you just can't go in. you don't even know what's in them#and siffrin probably doesn't either. all they remember is that they marked that off for the sake of walking to their death a little bit#faster#just. auogh. sasasap. god

#A Botanical Daughter#aroaessidhe 2024 reads#man I really wanted to like this but I kinda had to force myself to finish it.#really not a fan of the writing style which is very emotionally distant and full of a lot of telling not showing#it could have gotten weird and atmospheric with the writing style! we could have gotten sentient fungi POV! but no.#The characters were flat. the conceptually weird/creepy/horror aspects were executed in the most boring way#the relationship between the men is something we’re told exists but…. I don’t feel it. I don’t like them as characters.#They’re not even interesting enough to hate - or like it could have gone in the direction of embracing the unhinged murder couple vibes#they flip flop between angry arguments and making up and I’m like what is the point of that?? Honestly I didn’t feel any emotional connecti#it kinda feels like it doesn’t know whether it’s whimsical quirky-cozy vibes or like properly gothic horror#it’s somewhere in between & fails at both. it maybe suffers from trying to play into the popularity of coziness#the closest to weird we get is plant lesbian sex scene but also I laughed out loud when I read the line ‘hungry for her loam’#like…..these men essentially create this person then cut her off from the world and her biological desires; control her autonomy/ability#to speak and the conclusion is <3 what a weird little family <3 and not she should#escape and kill them and/or make them grapple with the fact they are at fault for this potential ecological disaster let loose on the world#there’s also weird colonialist lines scattered throughout that don’t feel super interrogated…

youtube for some inexplicable reason keeps suggesting videos to me about whether sonic 3 or mufasa will be the bigger hit at the box office and I'm not gonna watch the videos but also like. I really hope it's sonic-

Ok played more veilguard today. The writing is definitely. Hm. Well it's been said plenty by people much more invested in the lore than me. But at the very least, what I Can say, is that the game is Fun. Though I need a front liner desperately. I'm a rogue playing at front liner and I suck at dodging and I keep getting the shit beat out of me. But it's ok I've pulled through 👍 with quick and nimble reflexes and my beloved Potion Stealing Skill.

I DID I REALLY ENJOYED THE MOUTHWASHING. I did see the CWs and I went into this fully #ready this game is my shit in so many ways
#I had vouches from multiple parties whom I trust with the matter that it was good at having the conversation it was trying to have#and also info that it's a surreal atmospheric horror point and click. Which I love and which it is. It was awesome#It's so good at writing dialogue that knocks everything out of one and leaves one just going Man. *Fuck*#and at doing fucked up gore. The scene where you saw off Curly's leg is some of the grodiest animated gore I've ever seen#Not even for content but the context and way it's framed and shown and Waugh.#It's also so good at making use of Horrible Noises.
