I hope they make a full-on sonic horror game like unironically
#ramblings#i don't mean that sonic.exe bullshit#i mean something that delves deep into the already established horrors of the sonic universe#the many manevolent gods and spirits only spoken of in legends#the hungry alien races that seek nothing more than to consume#the bloody massacres that occur just out of the public eye#there is. so much potential#honestly a horror game abt shadow and the arc massacre and stuff relating to the black arms is what i'd like to see the most#but something involving body horror like what dark gaia's energy did to sonic in unleashed#or stuff with the phantom ruby for psychological horror#i've already made a post like this haven't i#ah who cares i'll say it again I WANT GOOD SONIC HORROR

Sometimes I see someone make a new sonic.exe au or whatever and doing all this crazy horror shit with possession and gore and eldritch horror and I'm just sitting there like
There are horrors in sonic already. There's the end and dark gaia and the black arms and the phantom ruby and time eater and probably more that I'm forgetting. Why not build upon those?
Why not do psychological horror with the phantom ruby or time eater breaking down reality making the characters question what's real and what's illusion or have them forget the past as the timeline slowly gets destroyed
Or body horror with dark gaia and the werehog, pushing the transformation further and seeing how that affects sonic's body and mind. Or the black arms and shadow for some alien themed body horror
Or eldritch horror with the end and how it's basically the physical manifestation of death and appears differently to everyone based on their perception of death. Or eldritch horror with some other god idk
Hell you don't even have to do anything with the gods or anything you can make a horror using just basic ass sonic. Like isn't it freaky how he never seems to die no matter what. Stuff like that
Like there's so much potential for interesting horror here and yet sonic.exe stuff tends to basically do the same thing with like demon possession and the same body horror tropes again and again. It feels uninspired imo but maybe that's just me not seeing the appeal of it
