Katsuki reading Mina's shojo Mangas and romance novels bc he's bored one night and the Bakusquad is drunk and acting like idiots, and Mina making little jokes about him getting hooked.

But in actuality he's reading them and thinking this is schlock. This is pedestrian. He keeps reading hoping for a deeper escalation of the romance but it's all hopelessly cliche. He thinks He could probably write better romance in his sleep, or if he has a few beers himself.

And then he fucking tries, and suddenly he has TWO SECRET PROJECTS.

bakugo is a secret romantic confirmed. It's about the devotion, it's about the 8 years and dying for Izuku twice. It's the Izuku being one of the last things he saw before death!

Katsuki fucking hates romance tropes because they aren't enough. They're flimsy, they're shallow, he can do way fucking better than flowers or crepes or giving up his jacket, and he will because he's the fucking best!!

#obviously he does it as more of a giggle #or maybe a catharsis for all the pent up feelings that he cant tell Izuku (yet)#but soon it becomes a legit side hustle #like just somethong he does when he has a few minutes at the end of his day #if he ever thinks to publish it (unlikely unless theres some meddling from other parties) he does it under a psuedonym of course #he doesnt even want that shit tied to him #then one day izuku casually mentions this new novel he is reading #he knows its more of a feminine thing but his mom probably read it and loved it #so he picked it up out of curiosity and now he tells katsuki about it #and katsuki fucking chokes on his coffee when he asks Izuku the title #and comments about how incredibly written the romance is #how compelling the characters are #and katsukis just like ITS ABOUT US U DWEEB but he cant say that lest his secret is blown so he just stares like a dummy #oblivious Izuku geeking out over Katsukis romance novel written low key about them #katsuki thinking How can he be such a romantic but NOT REALIZE
