hi!! I saw your complaining about ordering albums from some sites and I totally agree! you should try evepink, they are based in texas and shipping is normally around $8-10 so not as bad as some of the other ones plus they ship things pretty quickly!
I don’t think I’ve ever bought from them before, but they’re on my radar for stores to buy from definitely!

Tumblr media
You take that back, you absolutely hate hockey. More specifically, you hate the handsome devils that make up NCT U’s team and how they turned your meal with Jaemin and Jeno to a team dinner.
You hate how they are relentless in their teasing and force you into a chair right next to their captain. And you absolutely despise how all eyes are on you as Mark tries to strike a conversation with you.
The group decided to forgo your original plans of eating at a Thai place, opting to visit the local diner they frequented instead. You felt sorry for the person waiting on your group; having to deal with a loudmouth team that wanted to split the check was always a struggle. They just smiled as they readied your seating, pushing several tables together to accommodate your group. They quickly took your drink orders, the others ordering milkshakes and sodas while you and Mark just asked for waters. Your friends mocked you for even getting the same drink and it just went spiraling from there.
“I’m so sorry about them,” Mark whispers under his breath, hand coming up to cover his small face. “They’re being dumb. I’ll tell them to stop.”
He’s leaning his body towards yours and you feel the team’s stares as you move to cover your mouth. “Are they like this all the time? I mean, I know Jaemin and Donghyuck are but the rest, questionable.”
He rolls his brown eyes to convey his extremely annoyed state, “They’re nosy assholes, all of them.” Mark shoots his mates a glare that’s meant to be intimidating but it’s far from that off the ice. He looks like an upset little puppy, face crinkled and eyes rounded in the cutest way. You want to pinch his cheeks but you refrain from doing so.
“What are you two lovebirds talking about?” Donghyuck smirks from the other side of the table.
From beside him, Yangyang adds, “Yeah, share with the whole class!”
Mark groans— he can’t believe he has to deal with two loudmouths in his team. He looks to the older members: Sicheng is just silently grinning and Ten is wiggling his brows at the captain. The only one’s looking sorry for him are Jeno, the ever-so-sweet one sitting beside his boyfriend, and Sungchan, the shy new addition to the team.
Jaemin, sitting on your right while Mark is squished on your left, laughs, “You’re not talking about being smashed by him, are you?” He’s obviously taking pleasure in your pain. You don’t think they’re ever going to let that go.
You smack him across the arm and he winces at the stinging contact, surprised by your strength. “Oh my god, stop! No one was supposed to hear that!”
“And yet, everybody did,” Yangyang says teasingly, eyes slotted and mouth upturned into a shit-eating grin. You don’t think he should be talking, you’ve seen his struggles with the person in the dinosaur mascot suit but that’s another story.
“Let’s just forget everything about that, please!”
“I, uh, agree,” Mark says, clearing his throat. He smiles nervously at you and you return it with a shy one of your own. God, how can one person be so attractive?
“So cuuuuute,” Donghyuck coos and the other players follow, loving the way their captain cringes at their voices. Not being able to take it anymore, you put your face in your hands as Jaemin joins in on the commotion.
What in the world did you do to deserve this treatment, you wonder as your face heats up in your hold. You’re at the point where yanking your hair out sounds like a better time than dealing with the jokes the boys are throwing your way. You don’t know how much more of this you can take.
You feel Mark shift in his chair. He brings his lips to your ear to ask, “Do you, uh, I don’t know, maybe, wanna get outta here?”
His voice is low, soft, and comes off as a bit timid as he presents the question but it still sets the butterflies free in your stomach. They’re flying around, tickling you in the weirdest way but you don’t mind— it’s been a while since your heart fluttered like this.
Biting back a huge smile, your cheeks make your eyes curl into little slits as you nodded enthusiastically. “Oh my god, yes please,” you answer as you scramble for your belongings.
Mark wastes no time, pushing his metal chair out from under the table before pulling yours out. He grabs his team jacket and slings it over his shoulder before guiding you out the door, his hand gripping tightly onto yours. The group of boys yell at you to come back and you ignore them, too busy reeling at the feeling of Mark’s hand in yours. It’s warm and inviting, the way his fingers wrap around your smaller palm.
The cold autumn breeze hits you as soon as he opens the door and it gets worse when you’re running down the street so one of the boys can’t chase after you. You’ve made it two blocks before you stop running and that’s when Mark finally notices that he’s still holding on tightly to your hand.
“Oh, I, um, sorry,” he mumbles as he rushes to let go. His high cheeks are turning red and it clearly shows how flustered he is.
“It’s okay,” you reassure him with a giggle.
The wind blows through the holes in your knit sweater and you shiver at the sudden cold. Ugh, why didn’t you think to bring a thicker jacket?
Mark notices and he immediately takes action. “Oh, here,” he says before taking his team jacket and draping it over your shoulders. You quickly try to tell him it’s okay and shrug it off but he insists on you wearing it, a small grin peeking out on his lips. He watches you slip your arms through the blue sleeves and pull your hands out through the orange and white lined ends.
Before you could get to it, the blond hastily zips the jacket up to the very top for you, his knuckles brushing against your chin. It leaves your heart beating wildly against your ribcage, fighting its way to come out. Mark takes a step back to admire the sight of you in his clothes— his last name embroidered on one side rests proudly against your chest and it looks damn good on you.
“T—thanks,” you stutter, not used to being treated this way. The move was so incredibly sweet and you think it’ll live in your mind for the rest of your life, rent free, along with all the other cute things he does.
Mark’s grin widens. “Yeah, yeah, of course,” he replies, glad he’s not the one stumbling over his words for once. Maybe he’s staring at you in his jacket longer than he needs to but you don’t mind, not when he’s looking at you with shining eyes you want to get lost in.
You don’t though, your little moment being interrupted by the loud growling of your empty stomach. Your eyes become circles and you’re suddenly burning up in his jacket. Wrapping your arms around your middle, you let out an uneasy laugh.
Mark’s bright laughter fills your ears and soon, you’re joining in too, quiet giggles shaking your body.
He clears his throat and scrunches his nose at you. It’s an endearing look, you think, as you save the sight in your memory. “C’mon, let’s go get you some food,” he chuckles, slipping his hand into yours once again.
Mark leads you down the street, a loose grip on your hand, and he hopes you don’t feel how clammy his palms are through your sweater paws. His eyes are darting to anything and everything but you, too scared to look you in the eye. He thinks if he spares one more look at you, he’ll combust.
“You were gonna get some Thai food, right?” Mark asks.
You glance at him and nod in agreement, “Yeah, there’s a place Jaemin and I usually go to. We were just gonna head there.” You tell him where it’s located and it’s a bit of a long walk. He didn’t mind though, he quite enjoyed holding your hand.
You don’t see it but Mark secretly pumps his fist when you initiate the interlocking of your fingers. The feeling of his hand in yours is so comforting, you don’t think you ever want to let go.
Peeping over at him, you catch him do the same to you at the exact same time, right down to the second. He blinks at you, eyes widened in shock and another burst of laughter bubbles through you, entertained at how ridiculously shy the both of you were.
Seeing the university’s golden boy as fumbly as you were in this particular moment relaxes a bit of your nerves, though. Many people see the famous Mark Lee as this picture perfect student athlete but during this moment, you just see him as a boy.
You’re just a girl walking time with a boy and you think nothing else could ever beat this moment.

What Could Have Been?
Part Four. (Smut)
Several weeks later.
After what happened with Ten, you decided you didn’t want to mourn the loss of someone close to your heart anymore. You just wanted to move on and put all of that behind you.
So you decided it was the perfect time to indulge in your feelings for Johnny.
Ever since the breakup, you spent a lot of time talking to each other. Whether it was over text or phone calls, it was a constant thing. From morning to night.
At work, you worked with him the most because you did everything you could to do so. And even though he would never admit it, he did too.
The people around you were starting to notice the little things that kind of hinted that there was something more going on between the two of you.
They noticed the loud giggles, the handsy moments, the longing stares from across the room. The twinkle in your eyes and the playful smirks. Some have even accidently passed by when you were having flirty interactions.
But everyone had doubts because they all knew Johnny and what he was like. It would have been out of his character to get involved with someone at work, especially so publicly.
While everyone was in doubt, Johnny and you were having a great time together.
The first time you had him over again, he was really just there as a friend. Nothing more happened besides a light make out session for a couple of minutes.
You spent most of the time talking and getting to know each other more. He really opened up to you about his past and the history he had with girls.
Johnny felt like he could really trust you, he had no reason to think otherwise. And because of that, he really opened up to you. He told you his struggles in life, the ones he had before he even got where he was now.
He also told you the struggles he was going through at the moment and how hard everything has been on him. The pressure of being present for the fans and everyone around him was really draining him.
He almost felt like he had no escape right now. But you, you made everything just a bit better. You listened with no judgement, with no expectations of Johnny from Nct.
Because to you, he wasn’t Johnny from a famous boy band. He was just Johnny, a sweet kind hearted guy from Chicago who you wanted to get to know more of.
Slowly but surely you were getting there.
The third time Johnny came around, things were different. The energy and the vibes weren’t the same. There was something tense in the air, you could feel it radiating off your bodies.
You drank and watched a movie like always, at least you started too. But the feelings were too strong to ignore.
Before you knew it, you were straddling Johnny shirtless on the couch yet again, much like the first time. Hands were touching everything and anything they could reach, squeezing what they could. His shirt came off not too long after yours.
His face was buried in your chest, sucking on your boobs as hard as he could. His tongue played with your nipples as he pushed you more into his mouth.
Your nails were digging into his shoulder blades scared you were going to break skin but the pleasure was too much. You grinded yourself down on him harder feeling everything he had to offer.
“Johnny.” You moaned, throwing your head back, letting the passion consume you.
With his mouth still on your breast, sucking away and licking with need, his hands slide down your back into your underwear, groping your thick skin.
He pushed you down harder on his crotch, wanting to feel more of you, so much more. You moved with his body, with what he wanted.
“Let’s take this to my room.” You whispered in his ear.
Johnny pulled away from you and looked you in the eyes, “If we pass that door (Y/N), I am going to devour you whole. So make sure that is what you want.”
“Ravish me Johnny, I beg you.”
And just like that, you went from being on the couch in the living room to being thrown on your bed with Johnny climbing in between your legs without missing a beat.
Once that door was crossed, all hell broke loose and you saw a side of that man that will have your mouth water every time you think about him from now on.
Tongues were deep in each other mouth’s trying to savor every taste possible, teeth were knocking into each other at the force your lips were meeting. Hands were mixed together trying to unbutton pants.
You were fumbling around with his belt when he pinned your hands with his own above your head and pulled away from your mouth.
“We’re very eager for more, aren’t we?” He teased softly biting your earlobe.
You tried hard to keep your breath elevated to not give away just how much you wanted this to happen, how much you wanted him but it was very much not working.
Johnny heard your light panting and chuckled seductively in your ear, “Don’t worry baby girl, I’ll give you what you want.”
He sat up letting go of your hands, checking out your semi-naked body with his lip caught between his teeth, his eyes eating you whole.
The wild things that were running through his mind made him excited beyond his control, he could feel his fingertips itch with the need to feel you, to touch you. He wanted all of you.
Johnny looked you in the eyes and placed his hand on your cheek, “But not yet, there’s so much I want to do to you first.” He traced his finger from your lips down to your chest, to your stomach, to the waistband of your shorts.
He ripped off your shorts and laid down in between your legs just enough for him to be face to face with your aching core. You could feel his soft breath on your skin, goosebumps breaking out all over your body.
You were fully exposed to him for him to do anything and everything he desired with your naked being. The air was heavy and your mind was clouded with lust.
In the one breath, your legs were thrown over his shoulders and his face was buried in the depths of you pussy, savoring all the juices that were dripping off your hot skin.
His tongue licked up your folds, his nose rubbing against your nub for a split second, “Mmm, exactly what I thought you’d taste like.”
You shadowed his hands as his fingers dug into the soft flesh of your hips. Heavy breathing and soft moans were leaving your mouth needing more.
“More Johnny, please” You begged pushing his head deeper into your core.
One of his hands left your hips and moved down to penetrate your walls. One finger went in first to feel you out but you still felt empty.
You hurriedly begged him for more, it wasn’t enough.
He slipped another finger inside, pumping them slowly just to tease you. He wanted to keep hearing you beg for him, it was doing wonders for his dominate side.
“Stop teasing Johnny.”
Your tone sounded very order like despite your heavy breathing. Something in Johnny flipped like a switch, no one gave him orders, especially not in the bedroom.
“What did you say?” Johnny seized all actions and hovered over you causing a small whine to escape your lips.
When you started, the look in his eyes were filled with hunger but now, there was a fire burning behind them. A part of you felt like you were supposed to feel scared maybe, if not a little worried.
But that wasn’t case. You weren’t exactly sure what risk you were running here but you wanted to find out. If he wanted to tear you from limb to limb right now, you would let him.
“I told you to stop teasing.”
For a second you swore his eyes turned pitch black before they went back to their normal color. Excitement began to radiate off your bodies when one of his hands wrapped around your neck tightly.
“You do not tell me what to do (Y/N). I tell you what to do and you listen.”
Fuck, your body was experiencing a heat you have never felt before, with anybody. You wanted him badly, all of him and everything he had to offer.
Without warning, Johnny shoved three fingers into your aching pussy. His speed now was nothing compared to what he was doing earlier.
Your hands wrapped around his wrist with massive strength, trying to stop your body from shaking off the bed. There was sounds that wanted to escape your throat but they couldn’t. Your vision was turning white
Words were being spoken to you but they were barely audible, your brain was mush and could not make sense of anything going on around you.
Johnny tightened his grip around your neck harder and forced you to focus on him, “Is this what you wanted? You wanted me to finger fuck you this hard?”
“Look at me.” he ordered, burying his fingers deeper in you and curling them right at your sweet spot, his thumb rubbing circles on your nub.
He wanted you to ride his fingers while you came, he wanted you to feel everything inch of his fingers.
“I’m gon-” You moaned, throwing your head back into the pillows with pure pleasure, your nails digging into his skin. Your legs were trying hard to close around his hand before he pushed them open with his elbow.
Your body couldn’t hold it any longer, you shook uncontrollably and let go. You gushed of sweet relief, there was an ache in your throat and you were sure you were screaming his name but just couldn’t hear yourself.
After what felt forever, the wave of pleasure finally faded and your body went completely limp. Your nails no longer dug into Johnny’s skin, your eyelids couldn’t stay open, and your breathing was decreasing.
Johnny got off the bed to get a cloth to wipe his hands and to clean you up a bit. While doing so, he was gentle and you laid with your eyes still closed.
Once he was done, he threw the cloth to the side and then kissed your cheek, “You haven’t said anything since you squirted everywhere, you okay?”
You laughed and nodded yes, not having any real energy to use your voice. You finally opened your eyes to look at Johnny in the eyes.
He had a smirk plastered on his face, feeling overly satisfied that he had you this drained from only fingering you. He couldn’t wait to see how you’d be after he was fully done with you.
“You think you can handle more or you want to tap out here?” Johnny asked, tracing his finger down your neck.
With your voice raspy and a smirk on your lips, you answered, “Fuck me Johnny. Fuck me hard.”

A Fateful Delay
Pairing: Jaehyun x Gn!Reader
Genre: friends to strangers to lovers au, fluff,
Word Count: 4.1k
Warnings: swearing, kissing, lots of dialogue
Rating: PG-13?
Note: Happy birthday nct aquarius boy 5/5! Forewarning I am an amateur tarot reader, so if it’s not entirely accurate *shrugs* Heavily inspired by Jaehyun’s I like me better cover video. (p.s. you’re a real one if you recognize the book quotes.)
Tumblr media
Gate 26, gate 26, gate 26, you repeated in your head, not confident that your half awake mind wouldn’t forget. Heathrow airport was still quite empty at this hour, with only a few other stragglers hanging about. 6:00 am wasn’t exactly the most desirable time for a flight after all.
Here it is, you sighed in relief when you saw a crowd still waiting to board the early flight. You looked down to check that you had your boarding pass before looking up and suddenly being transported back to an older time.
“Jaehyun,” you said it without thinking, prompting him to look up from his phone and make eye contact with you. Recognition flashed across his face almost immediately, along with something else you couldn't quite place.
“What are you doing here?” you asked as you reached him, setting your backpack down on the bench beside him.
“I’ve been studying here,” he said. “What about you?”
“Just traveling. I’ve been in Europe for,” you paused to count in your head. “A little over two months now.”
“Alone?”
“Mostly, yeah.”
He whistled. “That’s pretty impressive.”
“It’s been an adventure, that’s for sure.”
You lapsed into silence, your mind still reeling with the fact that you had run into Jaehyun here of all places. And as coincidences like this didn’t happen very often, you quickly resigned yourself to the fact that you would probably never see him again.
Except…
“Flight 2491 from London Heathrow to Incheon International Airport has been delayed 18 hours,” a nasally voice announced over the speaker. Groans erupted all around you as they continued. “Boarding will commence at 12:00 am. If you have any questions or wish to board another flight please come to the front desk. Thank you and have a good day.”
Jaehyun sighed, reaching up to run a hand through his hair.
“Good thing I checked my bag,” he said as though he was trying to find a glimpse of good in the situation. You nodded emphatically.
“I was just thinking the same thing.”
“You know what I need now?”
“What?”
“Coffee.”
——
Once you’d left the airport the two of you entered the first cafe you could find. Unlike Heathrow, this was it’s busiest time of the day. You looked around as you waited, observing the artwork and the office workers that came and went without a second glace in your direction. They must be used to tourists.
“Does this place have a bookstore?” you asked as you peered past the espresso machines. You repeated your question to the barista when you reached the front of the line, and learned that yes, there was a bookstore just down the hall.
“Lets go,” you said once you’d ordered.
“Now?”
“When else?”
“You go,” he said. “I’ll wait for our coffee.”
——
The bookstore was even quieter than the airport, with not a soul to be seen but your own. You ran your finger along the bookcases as you explored, the rough texture and musty scent of the books making you feel at home. Jaehyun found you sitting on the carpeted floor in the aisle between two bookcases, a stack of hardcovers next to you.
“Watcha doing?” he asked as he handed you your coffee and sat down next to you.
“Let me read you some of my favorite lines,” you said in place of an answer.
“Didn’t we read that in high school?” Jaehyun asked as you picked The Sun Also Rises from the top of the pile.
“Yeah,” you said. “Junior year.”
Eventually you found the page you were looking for and read the line: “I can’t stand it to think my life is going so fast and I’m not really living it.”
“Damn,” he sighed.
You nodded. “That’s why I decided to come here. To Europe I mean.”
You picked up the next book.
“Okay here’s another one. ‘Brave doesn’t mean you’re not scared. It means you go on even though you’re scared.’”
“How are you finding these so fast?” Jaehyun asked, dimples appearing on his cheeks as he smiled.
“I’ve probably read them too many times,” you laughed along with him, ripping your eyes away from the ever endearing marks.
A minute later: “We accept the love we think we deserve.”
“Ouch.”
You laughed again, and he forced himself to smile with you.
“Okay last one. ‘That’s what love is. Love is keeping the promise anyway. Don’t you believe in true love?’”
“Do you?”
“What?”
“Believe in true love.”
“Yeah, don’t you?”
He sipped his coffee as he considered the question.
“Yes,” he said finally. “I just don’t think I’ll ever find it.”
You were taken aback by that. Jung Jaehyun had always been one of the most desirable people you knew, and from what you could tell the last six years had done nothing but make him even more so. But maybe that wasn’t what mattered.
“Doesn’t it scare you?” Jaehyun interrupted your thoughts.
“What? Love?”
“Yeah.”
“I mean yeah I guess so, but isn’t true love worth the fear?”
Jaehyun smiled again at that, nodding quietly as his gaze moved to focus on the floor between you. You weren’t sure if the nod meant yes, but it brought an end to the conversation anyway.
——
As the morning turned into midday the two of you found yourselves in a quieter part of town. The sky had begun to darken as you walked and it casted a looming shadow over the street, filling you with a strange sense of foreboding.
Soon enough raindrops began to fall, creating dark spots on the concrete beneath your feet. You ducked into the first shop you could find for shelter, not paying any attention to the signs posted outside. Thus you were surprised to see the crystal balls, tarot decks, and palm reading books laid out on the tables inside.
Incense filled the air, and midnight blue and royal purple drapes were hung along the walls, highlighted by shimmering golds and silvers. A woman stood at the counter wearing colors to match. Other than her the store was empty, which didn’t surprise you considering the fact that it was late morning on a Monday in February. Not exactly the height of tourist season.
“Welcome,” the woman said, her voice soft and silvery. “Are you looking for something in particular today?”
“Uh, no,” you looked back at Jaehyun.
“We were just escaping the rain,” he finished for you.
“Well then, perhaps you’d be interested in a reading?”
You felt bad for seeking refuge from the rain but not buying anything, so you agreed. You followed her to the back of the shop with Jaehyun close on your heels. An embroidered curtain was pushed to the side to reveal a small table with a few chairs scattered around it.
“Please take a seat,” she said as she pulled a deck of tarot cards from a drawer in the table. You and Jaehyun sat next to each other on the side closest to the curtain, and she sat across from you.
“So, I want you to think of a question,” she said as she began to shuffle the cards. “It could be about anything really, but please make sure that it’s clear and specific.”
You played with your hands where they rested in your lap, feeling quite put on the spot.
“Take your time,” she smiled at you.
Your mind came up with and then discarded a million questions as the seconds ticked by, but eventually you settled on one.
“Our uh, flight was delayed this morning,” you explained. “Do you, or do the cards think that it was delayed for a reason?”
“Hmm,” she nodded in understanding. First she split the deck in three, then put it back together as a whole in no obvious order, before finally beginning to place the cards on the table.
“Let’s see,” she pondered, looking down at the cards she’d laid out. First she pointed to the world and high priestess cards, both reversed on the table before you.“It looks as though you lack closure, likely because of some feelings that you’ve repressed or kept hidden.” Next she pointed to the hermit and the ace of swords. “But you are searching for the truth, which will soon lead to a breakthrough that will provide you with clarity.”
Now she pointed to the page of wands. “You have been exploring recently, or maybe you still are.” Next to the knight of wands and the knight of cups. “You are fearless right now, and are ready to follow your heart. This will lead to new beginnings,” the fool, “dreams come true,” the ten of cups, “and a unique and deep partnership,” the lovers.
“Taking all of this into consideration, I’d say that yes, it did happen for a reason,” she finished. And although you weren’t one to believe in the superstitious, when she looked up at you with a twinkle in her eye you had a feeling she knew something that you didn’t.
——
Your stomach grumbled as you left the store, which made you realize that you hadn’t actually had a proper meal all day. You hadn’t had time on your way to the airport that morning, and coffee didn’t exactly count as food.
Like he could read your mind Jaehyun pointed out a fish and chips place nearby. It was lunchtime, so the place was bustling. Nevertheless you were quickly escorted to a booth made of dark wood with faux leather seats. It had been placed near a window looking out on the street you had just left behind.
Music played through speakers, battling the rowdy conversation of your fellow diners. Your still complaining stomach prompted you to order without much consideration, confident that you were hungry enough to enjoy whatever you were served.
“Do you believe everything she said back there?” Jaehyun asked as you waited for your food, his nail tracing a crack in the table.
“Yeah?” you phrased it as a question, watching as the group next to you was served. “I mean I wouldn’t usually, but a lot of what she said rang true.”
You lapsed into silence again, and you noticed a newfound awkwardness filling the space between you. An awkwardness that had nothing to do with the time that had passed since you’d last seen each other. You couldn’t stand the feeling, and so no matter how out of character it was for you, you felt that you needed to disrupt it somehow. So you said the thing that had been dancing around in the back of your mind since you’d first laid eyes on Jaehyun that morning.
“I liked you in high school you know.”
“Oh. You did.” He tilted his head, the look in his eyes hard to decipher. It wasn’t a question but you answered anyway.
“Yeah well I mean everyone probably liked you at some point, but,” you bit your tongue, already regretting your words.
“So you liked me because everyone else did?”
“No! I liked you a lot more than everyone else did.”
You only registered the teasing lilt in his voice after you’d finished blurting out the confession, and you felt your whole body go hot as the smile dropped from his face. The pause felt like it lasted for centuries because of your embarrassment.
“Why?” he asked eventually.
“Why what?”
“Did you like me.”
“Um,” you fiddled with your paper napkin to focus your thoughts. You second guessed yourself yet again. Were you really going to spill your guts to him now, here, after all this time?
Fuck it. When else?
“It always seemed to me like you didn’t care what anyone else thought of you, but not in a high and mighty way, you just minded your own business. Everyone either wanted to be you, or be with you in high school, but you didn’t let it affect you. It never got to your head, and you were always equally kind to everyone no matter what.”
Your eyes didn’t leave your hands the entire time you talked. Your fingers shredded your napkin methodically, too embarrassed to even imagine looking him in the eye ever again.
“Plus, you’re not bad to look at,” you said with your last ounce of confidence, before descending back into silence.
Luckily you didn’t need to say anything else, as just then your server arrived with your food. You dug in despite your now roiling nerves, still too scared to look up. If you had, you would have seen the fond look in Jaehyun’s eyes, and the way his dimples couldn’t seem to be tamed.
——
After lunch you walked across the Thames, but were eventually forced to make way for two small children zipping by on their scooters, their faces both full of pure and unadulterated joy. You couldn’t help but smile as you watched them go by, remembering when things had been that simple for you too.
“Do you want kids?”
You don’t know why you’d asked. Maybe it was something about the way his eyes had sparkled when he’d moved for them to pass by, or the small smile that still graced his face almost a minute later.
“Me?” he laughed a little after he said it, knowing full well that he was the only person around for you to ask. “I…yeah.”
You nodded, not particularly inclined to say anything more, but he went on anyway.
“Sometimes I think about like, having a house with a big yard, and a dog, and some kids, and just all the people I love with me,” he trailed off. “I guess it sounds kinda cliche to say it out loud.”
“A little,” you chuckled lightheartedly even as your heart leaped in your chest. “But I know what you mean.”
——
Soon enough you stumbled upon a covered market set up along the river selling everything from clothes, to records, to furniture. You wandered into the clothes section while Jaehyun browsed the rows of records.
Eventually you found a mirror and started trying on the most ridiculous accessories you could find. Jaehyun found you adorned with a lime sunhat, sparkling ruby red glasses, and a fluffy green absinthe scarf.
“Why does that kind of work?” he chuckled as he looked you up and down.
“Complementary colors,” you said simply, trying to ignore the way his eyes surveyed your figure. His mouth was smiling, but his eyes were serious. They took you in like you were a statue in a museum, something to treat delicately and with reverence.
“I had an idea,” he said as you began to shed your layers of color and ludicrous.
“What kind of idea?”
“I thought maybe we could pick something from all of this,” he waved his arms around, gesturing to the market around you, “and buy it for each other.”
“Like a secret santa?”
“Kinda, yeah.”
“Okay,” you nodded. “Meet back here in say, twenty minutes?”
“Sure.”
You set off in opposite directions, not wanting to spy on each other’s search and spoil your own present. Twenty minutes later you met back up where you’d started, before quickly deciding that you needed to find somewhere to sit while you shared what you’d bought. You chose a loveseat in the middle of the furniture section, it’s surface made of navy blue linen.
“You first,” Jaehyun said once he’d made himself comfortable next to you.
“Okay but fair warning, this is kind of dumb,” you said before pulling a white mug from behind your back. On its surface was painted a singular peach hued letter J.
“I just had to,” you laughed, relief filling you at the look of amusement on his face as he took it in his hands. “You can use it when you get that house you were talking about.”
His smile softened at that, and he looked up at you with a genuine look of gratitude. “I love it. Seriously. Is it weird how much I love it?”
You laughed again, your cheeks aching with delight.
“Okay my turn,” Jaehyun turned serious again as he leaned down to carefully tuck the cup into his bag. When he straightened up he had a record in his hands. Taking it from him you saw that it was the self titled Hozier album from 2014.
“I remembered that it was your favorite album in high school so I uh, yeah,” he trailed of as you looked back up at him, your eyes as big and sparkling as the full moon.
“I can’t believe you remembered.”
“Yeah well, maybe I liked you a little bit in high school too.”
Your stomach dropped at his words and you forced yourself to swallow back your surprise.
“Really?” you managed to get out, desperately searching his eyes for any hint of insincerity. But when he nodded you found nothing but nerves at his years awaited confession.
——
Eventually the two of you found yourselves in a sprawling garden backed by a row of old Victorian houses. Wide walkways created borders between garden beds full of both familiar and unrecognizable plants, the air full of their sweet scent.
You split off to wander on your own for a while before meeting back up at a bench near the back of the garden. Jaehyun presented you with a one of spring’s first daffodils when you reached him, and you bit down on your bottom lip hard as he tucked it behind your ear.
“I bet a lot of people get married here,” he mused a while later, arms propped up on the back of the bench.
“Yeah, it’s beautiful.”
The foolish part of you let your mind imagine yourself having a wedding here. As your eyes traced the slope of his nose you wondered who would be in attendance, what food would be served, what you would be wearing.
“Do you ever think about all the things that had to happen for us to run into each other this morning?” Jaehyun asked. “Like I never thought I’d ever see you again, and even if I did I thought it would be at a reunion or something.”
“And what if our flight hadn’t been delayed?” you considered. You knew what would’ve happened. You would have gotten on that plane without speaking another word to each other. Maybe a brief goodbye in Incheon, but that was certainly the very most. And then you would go your separate ways yet again, passing it off as an innocent coincidence.
“I’m glad it was,” he said as though, yet again, he could read your mind. Or maybe he was just thinking the same thing.
The sun was setting now and his face was lit up by its fiery glow. It turned his deep brown eyes gold and his cheeks rosy. His lips were parted the tiniest bit, like they were trying to grasp onto a word that he couldn’t quite remember.
“Stop looking at me like that.”
“Like what?” you asked.
“Like you,” his jaw clenched as he paused, eyes flickering with uncertainty. “Like you could fall in love with me,” he finished finally.
“Maybe I already have.”
He ripped his eyes from the setting sun in favor of looking at you. The corners of his lips were down turned, and his eyes were set in shadow. You decided you liked them better this way, twin pools of warmth that you could fall into and stay in comfort forever.
“Would it be crazy if I kissed you right now?” he whispered just loud enough for you to hear.
“Yes,” you said breathlessly, your lungs not working quite the way they were supposed to. “But you should do it anyway.”
And so he leaned forward that left over inch, and your lips melded together like honey in the golden light of the sun as it sunk beneath the horizon.
——
As night fell upon the city you decided you needed something sweet to end your day. You ended up at a diner near the center of the city, with milkshakes and french fries set on the table between you. You dipped one into your shake and then huffed out a laugh as Jaehyun grimaced.
“It’s good!” you defended yourself. “At least try it before you judge me.”
“Fine.”
He reached forward and dipped a fry into his vanilla milkshake before popping it into his mouth. He considered carefully, eyes never once leaving yours.
“Okay I admit, it’s pretty good.”
You cried out victoriously before he’d even finished his sentence properly, pumping your fists in the air. It was Jaehyun’s turn to laugh now, the indent of his dimples enchanting you for the thousandth time that day.
“Do you think,” Jaehyun began, spinning the shiny silver spoon in his cup around in circles.
“Hm?”
“Are you…happy?”
You blinked. As an adult people would always ask you how your career was going, if you were married, or if you’d bought a house yet, as if life was some kind of grocery list where you had to check off each item in order for you to be complete. He was the first to ask if you were happy.
“I think so,” you leaned down and took another sip of your milkshake to give yourself a chance to think. “I’m not unhappy,” you decided after a moments thought.
“You know what makes me happy?” he asked next.
“What?”
“You.”
You stared at him, your mind reeling. A thousand thoughts came to you, but none of them expressed quite what you were feeling. But maybe words weren’t what you needed right now.
You reached across the table, pushing your cups and fries out of the way until you could lean forward free of any obstructions. He met you halfway without you needing to do or say a thing.
This time he tasted sweet and salty, like adventure and familiarity all wrapped into one. Fireworks erupted behind your eyelids as you kissed, disrupting the calm darkness you usually found there. When you pulled away you became starkly aware of the countless eyes on you, but you couldn’t find it in yourself to care. The only eyes you cared about were the chocolate ones looking straight into yours.
As you sat back down you noticed the flower that had fallen from behind your ear and on to the table top. Jaehyun noticed it at the same time as you, and carefully he reached forward to pick it up and twirl it between his fingers absentmindedly.
“One of the classes I took while I was here,” he started. “It was just for fun, an extra credit course you know. And at some point we talked about the language of the flowers.”
You watched the flower spin, a yellow blur under the diner’s fluorescent lights. It was mesmerizing, or maybe you were just tired.
“Do you know what the daffodil’s meaning is?” he asked.
You shook your head.
“Unequalled love.”
——
You reached gate 26 for the second time that day with nearly half an hour left until midnight. Some of your fellow voyagers sat around in groups, some by themselves. Some lay across the airport benches like cats trying to enjoy their midday nap. There were tired eyes everywhere you looked.
You, on the other hand, felt more awake than you had all day. None of it had felt real, passing more like a dream than real life. You had been tempted to pinch yourself several times that day, and now you finally decided to submit to the urge. You pushed back the sleeve covering your left arm and gave the skin underneath a quick pinch, if only to confirm that you were indeed corporeal.
You sucked in a short breath at the small tinge of pain, but then smiled at the ground at the confirmation that everything that had happened today was in fact real, and not just a figment of your overactive imagination. Jaehyun looked over at you with curious eyes at the small sound. You shook your head at the unspoken question, preferring to not indulge exactly how surreal all of this felt.
“What’s your seat number,” you asked instead.
“Uhhh,” Jaehyun rummaged around in his bag for a second before pulling out his boarding pass. “32F. How about you?”
“32G.”
You stared at each other for a second before Jaehyun burst out laughing.
“You’re telling me that our seats were next to each other this whole time?”
“I think so,” you looked down at your boarding pass once more before joining in on Jaehyun’s disbelieving laughter.
“Well would you look at that,” Jaehyun said, pulling your right hand into his lap and squeezing it gently. “I guess this really was fate.”

// could you be the one who gets to save me // (x)
--
[11:34]
“Heads up, Jae!” you ducked, throwing a glance over your shoulder to make sure your ‘business partner’ had dodged the knife as well. Said man swerved to the side in accordance with your warning and shot a mischievous grin at you as he kicked another masked man. A couple golden brown strands of sweaty hair fell into his eyes, making him that much more attractive. “Thanks, Princess.” He grunted as his fist made contact with another unfortunate jaw, tossing a quick uppercut at someone else. “Hey, watch your left-”
Nodding, you turned back around, flicking the sturdy switchblade open to slash at the figure in all back running towards you. A quick flash of metal, a strangled scream, and the crunch of bone against pavement beneath you as the body made contact with black top… it should have been sickening to you. But after all these years of fighting for survival in an illegal life like yours, a grim smirk made its way across your lips. You took a breath, scanning the chaos in your surroundings as you leaned back against Jaehyun, the man your father had originally said was your ‘paid protection’. The muscles in his back contracted as he kicked someone else across the yard and a quiet sigh left your lips. But, at this point, Jaehyun was more to you than just paid protection.
“You good, Princess?” His breath came out in harsh pants as he turned slightly to glance at you out of the corner of his eye. “You don’t usually lean against me in a fight unless you’re really tired.”
“I’m good-” you mumbled just as something whizzed a mere centimeter from your face. The curse left your mouth in seconds and you tugged the .44 mag revolver from its holster around your waist. “Shit, Jaehyun, watch the second wave.” He nodded, jaw clenched as he barked orders to his men. Pointing the gun towards the approaching enemies, you shot back. Hair in your face, back against a man you trusted with your life, and a solid three pounds of steel and polymer in your hands, you let the crazed smile take over your lips. There was something so exhilarating about fighting with someone rather than against someone.
The sounds of gunshots, breaking bones, and pure violence rang out in the warehouse yard for longer than it should have, but within minutes, the last body fell and it was over. Tucking your weapons back into their respective hiding places, you let your head fall against Jaehyun’s back.
“You doing okay, Jae?” You murmured, watching as a couple of his men walked off towards their vehicles, cleaning cloth and weapons draped over their shoulders.
He chuckled and stood there for a second, letting you rest against him. “Have I ever told you how much I hate starting my days out with my life on the line?”
“Shut up, dumbass….” You rolled your eyes, jabbing your elbow into his back, giggling when he yelped in surprise. “Don’t even lie, though. You wouldn’t be one of the most successful mafia heads in Korea if you didn’t have an unhealthy, animalistic thirst for steel and blood in the mornings.”
“I wouldn’t call it an ‘animalistic thirst’…” Jaehyun laughed again, a deep, baritone sound that reverberated through his body and sent a light flush to your cheeks. Lifting his head from yours, he pushed off your back to turn towards you. “More like an… acquired taste. Your dad said he’d cover clean up, right?” You nodded, kicking a few fallen limbs out of your path as you followed your ‘bodyguard’ towards his SUV.
“Yeah,” you murmured, admiring the muscles lining his back, pressed up against the skin-tight long sleeve hugging his body. “He said he’d send over Lucas and Ten whenever we were done.”
“Sweet.” Unlocking the car, he opened the door to the driver’s seat, shamelessly lifting the shirt over his head to change. Your eyes drank in the sight of his scarred, tattooed, well cut figure, not bothering to hide the fact you were staring. He pulled the bloodied shirt off, smirking when he caught your gaze. You whistled your approval and he tossed the shirt at you playfully. “Get changed, Princess. I don’t think your econ professor will appreciate the way those bloodied jeans hug your ass as much as I do. That, and you are not getting blood on my leather seats. I will literally make you sit in the trunk if you don’t change.”
Jaehyun tossed you a change of clothes, a simple t-shirt and jeans. “Fine, Mr. Jung.” An overexaggerated groan left your lips as he turned around to give you some privacy. Jung Jaehyun had been your first choice in ‘hired muscle’ for a couple years now, ever since the night of your first assassination attempt. Needless to say, had he not been doing business with your father that evening at the gala, you would have most definitely been shot dead.
Fingering the scar right below your rib cage, a shudder ran through your body as your eyes caressed the matching scar on your partner’s body. The way he had grabbed you that evening, turning so that his body shielded yours, the only response of pain from him being the way his teeth clenched as he bit back a grunt. But even now, as you tore your eyes away from him to pull the fresh pair of jeans up your legs, you knew you still would have fallen for him, regardless of if he saved your life or not.
You stripped your bloodied shirt from your body, wincing when the movement shot a stab of pain through your body. You must have reopened that laceration on your shoulder from the night before. A sudden presence behind you sent a familiar thrill down your spine and you halted all movement. You already knew who it was. Only one person felt that confident, that firm merely standing behind you.
“You okay, princess?” Jaehyun ran his fingers down the scarred skin of your back, voice low and a different type of risky. His breath ghosted over your skin and you shivered, dropping your arms back down to your side. With one hand, he brushed your hair to the side, leaning closer to examine the open wound from the day before. A dark blush covered your cheeks at how close he was. Deep down, you knew you weren’t special. Jaehyun always treated his men, his friends this well when they were hurt. But when you turned, caught the way his brows furrowed with concern… something within you wished you were more to him than an associate’s daughter. “Looks like you worked the cut from last fight too hard.”
The calloused fingers left your skin only to return a moment later with a cotton swab drenched in alcohol. You hissed, immediately moving away from his hands and he snickered. “Easy, Y/N. Don’t move too much, okay?” Saying nothing, you squared your shoulders and clenched your teeth to stop the sounds of pain from escaping your lips. Soon, the cleaning was done and your shoulder was wrapped.
You stared blankly ahead of you, gaze somewhat unfocused as you pondered your chances of being able to pull off a relationship with someone as dangerous as Jaehyun. Your father would definitely approve. Not only would it secure an alliance with the notorious 127 syndicate, your father had been pushing to arrange ‘something’ between the two of you since that first night he saved you. And as exciting as a relationship with him would be… What fun would marriage be if your feelings were one sided?
Like a ray of sunshine through your clouded thoughts, Jaehyun appeared in front of you, dark eyes swimming in nothing but careful affection, as he held the clean t-shirt out for you to put your arms through. “Come on, Princess,” his voice was soft, much different than the voice he used with his men and for a split second, you thought just maybe you had a chance. A gentle smile danced across his lips when you finally looked up at the dangerously handsome man in front of you. “Let’s get you covered.”
Placing your arms through the holes, he gently eased the clothing over your head and down your scarred, bandaged torso. His hands smoothed the hem of your shirt down, resting over the soft curve of your waist for one moment too long.
And that single moment was all your body needed to start the unwarranted gymnastics routine in your heart once again. The breath escaping your lungs became ragged, uneven. Your hands came up to rest on his broad shoulders. From the dip of your collar bone to the pillowy pink of your lips and then up to your blank gaze was the path Jaehyun’s eyes traveled. With every sense of yours heightened and hyper aware from the lack of space between you two, you had yet to forget the way his hands remained on your hips. In the deafening silence, the glance he shot back down to your lips was just enough clarification you needed.
His mouth covered yours in seconds, the kiss a harsh combination of clashing teeth and the iron aftertaste of blood. It was passionless, the way he cradled your body in his hands as if he was afraid you could break any moment. For such an infamous criminal, you thought to yourself. Jung Jaehyun certainly had the softest lips you’d ever kissed.
But there were no sparks. There was no fire that lit in the pit of your stomach when he bit down on your bottom lip, tugging ever so slightly. No matter how gentle he was with you, no matter how intoxicating he was on your tongue… it became more obvious when you pulled away, observing the way he made no move to chase your lips. A bitter feeling spread over your chest when you realized something. He cared for you, yes. But he didn’t love you. Jaehyun didn’t love you.
A sad smile crept up your lips and you sighed. Pulling out your own teeth would have been less painful than the hurt you felt extracting yourself from his arms. He sighed, gathering his dirty clothes up to wash later, the moment prior already forgotten.
“Hey… Y/N,” Jaehyun cleared his throat, tossing a bag for clothes towards you. You blinked, nearly missing the bag. He nodded towards the car, face still a pale pink from what had transpired only seconds before. “We… we gotta head out soon or you’ll be late for class.”
“... Right.”
You sat in the passenger seat, glaring out the window at the beautiful cerulean sky. The drive out had only been forty-five minutes, but a stifling hatred towards your naivety bubbled, simmering in the jagged cavity where your heart had been and made the trip feel even longer. Nothing, not even the low jazz Jaehyun had playing in the background could block out the unreasonable frustration boiling in your stomach. Finally, after thirty seconds, you broke.
“Who is it?” your voice came out low, level, masterfully masking the intense desire of yours to cry. And if Jaehyun hadn’t known you for as long as he had, he wouldn’t have caught the slight tremble in the last syllable you spoke.
“What was that, Princess?”
“I said, who is it?” The question was more forceful this time. His grip on the steering wheel tightened and his jaw clenched. You knew he had heard you.
“... Who is what?” Silky and suave as always, Jaehyun cleared his throat, doing his best to sound unfazed. You had heard this voice before. Many times before. This was the voice he used when he was trying to evade a difficult topic.
“Who is it?” This time, you didn’t even try to hide the quiver in your voice. Melancholy rolled off you in waves and the first of the wretched tears made its way down your cheek. “Who… who’s keeping you from loving me the way I love you?”
“I don’t- I don’t know what you’re talking abou-”
“Cut the bullshit, Jung Jaehyun.” Anger manifested itself in the sudden raise of your voice. Jaehyun winced and you pressed on, growling through clenched teeth. “I lie way too much to believe that load of ass you just fed me.”
He swallowed, gaze straight ahead to avoid your prying eyes. “She… doesn’t know.” His words were quiet, almost reluctant. So the lucky girl didn’t know she was lucky.
“You should…” this time, your voice was barely audible, void of all the anger from a few seconds ago. “You should tell her. She deserves that at the very least.”
“But that would put her in danger!” It was Jaehyun’s turn to sound wildly distraught. Though his gaze remained firm on the road ahead, you could see the fear of rejection, the fear of any other young man deeply in love in his dark eyes. “She doesn’t even- she doesn’t know I’m one of the most dangerous criminals in Korea. She doesn’t know that I do what I do. How am I supposed to spring both on her at once? That just- that wouldn’t be fair to her.”
“You know what else isn’t fair to her? Keeping it a secret. Imagine how she might feel every time you leave for weeks on overseas assignments. Imagine how she might feel every time you come back with another cut lining your ridiculously flawless skin. Imagine… imagine how she’d feel if you died one day, never came back and never told her. Never told her that you loved her. Never told her why you disappeared so much. She’d be heartbroken in more ways than one, Jae.” Your words trailed off by the time you had finished. You pulled the collar of your shirt up to swipe furiously at the dried tears dotting your skin. Those words you had spoken... it wasn’t just the mystery girl you were speaking of.
Jaehyun was quiet for a moment, digesting the information you had just spat at him.
“And… I’m not saying you need to tell her both at once, I’m just- I… Give her the chance to love you for all you are.” Give her the chance to love you like I do.

Doyoung didn’t like the idea of soulmates. And it largely had to do with his dislike of anyone telling him what to do.
He found it annoying – how he wasn’t allowed to choose. To add to that, the only way he’d ever find out who his soulmate was, was by finding his matching mark. Was he supposed to live his life looking for someone with a leaf tattooed somewhere on their body? There was enough mystery in the wizarding world to last a lifetime, and he didn’t like his love life being tossed into the equation.
Easy enough for him, though, it shouldn’t be too hard to look for since it was right on his neck. Commonplace is that soulmates have it on matching places, but he was sure with his luck he’d be one of the exceptions.
“I don’t see why you’re so obsessed with it all. Just go with the flow,” Ten remarked cockily, flicking his vivid green collar back as he steadied himself.
Yuta scoffed. “Doyoung? Going with the flow? Of all the things that’s ever come out of your big mouth, that has got to be the most impossible, yet.”
“What’s impossible is thinking some spell is going to tell you whoever your soulmate is,” Ten piped, his smirk matching Yuta’s. “You’re absolutely deluded, Yongie.”
The wizard mentioned was starting to get irritated and his stress lines were beginning to show again. “Don’t give me more of a headache. If this is so impossible, why bother volunteering as my test subjects?”
They looked to each other and shrugged simultaneously, “‘Cuz it’s fun.”
“Whatever. Just do what I told you earlier,” he shook his head. He had to focus on the task at hand, if he were to get annoyed each time they’d try him, this would never end.
Putting his wand up in the air, he waved it at them, furrowing his brows as he recited the enchanted words. For a moment, they all stood still as a ray of light shot out from the tip of his Phoenix feather wand, encircling through the room in spurts before splitting, bursting into his test subjects’ chests. As each bolt hit their targets, eliciting small grunts of surprise, Doyoung watched in anticipation as different colours erupted.
“Merlin’s beard, is this one going to work?” Yuta gaped at the purple wisps fluttering at his nose.
It was promising. But, it was a bust.
Doyoung slouched, lowering his wand to his side when the light faltered, and eventually diminished.
“You sure this isn’t a spell to find out my future lover’s favourite colour? Because, if we’re being honest, I’m not sure I want to end up with someone whose favourite colour is neon orange,” Ten sneered, following Doyoung as he stormed out of the empty classroom. “Kinda tacky, if you ask me.”
Yuta skipped forward, faced them as he galloped backwards. With a mischievous smile, he poked at Ten, “Johnny’s favourite colour is neon orange.”
“But so is Hendery’s,” Doyoung smirked, and for the first time in the afternoon, Ten had shut up.
~
Doyoung couldn’t get over it. He was so close. Maybe he just needed to go deeper into the Forbidden section. (what a way of thinking)
He stood before his mirror, fiddling with the ends of his turtleneck. Unfolded, he could spot the small Slytherin-green leaf stem tattooed along his skin.
“As much as I hate to admit it – Ten has a point,” his roommate, Jaehyun, leaned by the mirror. His eyes followed Doyoung’s fingers, trailed its gaze along the mark. He was one of the chosen few that’s ever seen the thing. As much as Doyoung obsessed over finding his match, he was ironically persistent on leaving it up to fate.
To understand Doyoung, Jaehyun could only wish.
“If you hate it so much, don’t admit it. I’d rather piss off a hippogriff than give that pixie the satisfaction,” Doyoung muttered, rolling his collar back up, tucking it underneath a scarf.
Jaehyun chuckled. “Alright. Still, you’ve never told us why you care so much about finding your soulmate.”
Jaehyun walked to the door, held it open, and waited against it as Doyoung grabbed his books. An emotion flickered in Doyoung’s eyes, and Jaehyun was too quick to miss it.
Stubbornly, Doyoung frowned. “Because I don’t.”
And out he strode. Drooping his head in defeat, Jaehyun kicked the door closed behind him, tossing his keys in hand. “I don’t know who you’re trying to fool, Kim Doyoung.”
~
“I think I’m starting to understand,” Yuta conspired, nodding to himself in self-satisfaction. He jumped up with a radiant smile on his lips, eager to share his news to the rest of the boys underneath the (not whomping) willow tree. “Doyoung, over here, doesn’t like wasting time.”
“And it only took you 54 times of being late for you to realize that.”
Yuta shushed the other, maintaining his beaming smile. “Hear me out.”
Despite knowing what was to come out of his mouth was likely bull, eyes gathered reluctantly to the man on the main stage. “He so badly wants to know who his soulmate is because he doesn’t like wasting time! If he doesn’t know exactly who it is, he’ll have to keep putting effort in relationships that might not be the one!”
Doyoung tried not to flinch.
Their attention was now fully in Yuta’s manicured hands.
“Okay. I’m listening,” Taeyong giggled, swinging his feet from the branch he balanced on.
“So, in order to most efficiently use his time, Doyoung has to find his soulmate so he doesn’t have to stress about wasted effort on a person he doesn’t really love!” Yuta finished strongly, earning the approving nods from all around. It was like an episode of Buzzfeed Unsolved – almost completely baseless yet amusing.
Bowing, Yuta flipped his pink-ish hair, continuously dropping his torso as the crowd continued to appreciate him.
Jaehyun chuckled, throwing a book to the Slytherin. “You make him sound like he’s doing this for business hours,” his eyes flickered to Doyoung’s empty stare, “Besides, I’m sure you think the same, Nakamoto. So, let’s lay off.”
With the chuckling dying down and the topic switching to what was for dinner, Doyoung was finally able to think. They could laugh and laugh, but his one-track mind was set on another book down the Forbidden aisles in the library and he wasn’t going to stop until a spell worked.
~
This soulmate search was relatively new, but the boys weren’t surprised about Doyoung’s focus on it – he often got too carried away with anything he did.
With most of them in class, or trying desperately to pass their O.W.L.S., Jaehyun was the only one who had the time to accompany Doyoung to his library trips. After all, Jaehyun was a prefect – only second to the rabbit-nosed boy who had his rabbit-nose dug into the latest copy of “Love and Other Drugs” by the Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, no less.
“Thanks for telling them to back off. It was getting out of hand,” Doyoung muttered, his volume only a whisper to the quiet murmur of the library.
Jaehyun chuckled, nudged his side. Doyoung and his tsundere moments.
“No problem. Yuta’s just cocky ‘cause he’s already found his,” Jaehyun looked back, both of them reminiscing to the first time Yuta had seen the matching arrow on Winwin’s finger. ‘Twas the biggest ‘no homo’ of the century (but they all knew what it really meant). “I’ll help you find yours, bud.”
Doyoung met his gaze. It wasn’t something you could get used to – seeing the vulnerability in Doyoung’s eyes, not when he carried himself with a high chin and straightened shoulders at all times. For someone so mighty, he appreciated the little things. Things like little loyal comments of reassurance. He was also less secure than he’d let on, contrast to the older brother figure he tended to play. This soulmate thing was just a confirmation of what Jaehyun already knew – Doyoung wanted love and was ready to give it.
In a way, Yuta was right – but just as he usually is, he was also incredibly way off target. Doyoung didn’t want to waste time, correct. But only because he was ready to spend every waking moment with someone he loved, give his love to someone he knew was worthy of giving it too. That boy was careful with his heart.
But of course, there was no way Jaehyun would make him aware he knew of that information.
“But first,” Jaehyun picked up the stack he’d put aside, “we’ll have to get these checked out. Hopefully, whoever’s at the front isn’t cranky or we’re going to have some trouble getting some of these restricted options out.”
The two mannequin-esque figures strode through the library like it was a carpeted runway, stopping at the front desk. And you were there, hair pulled up with small fringes falling down your forehead, wrinkles along your face as you reiterated to your junior that using a mandrake as an alarm to prank his friend wasn’t ‘harmless fun’.
You pinched your nose between your fingers, closed your eyes as the boy stared at you vacantly. “Listen, I know you two get up to some delightful antics,” you tilted your head, “but Jisung, I don’t think that’s as innocuous as you think it is.”
The younger boy dropped the book in his hands tenderly, a crestfallen expression donning his face as he looked once more to the screeching mandrake animated on the page. You chuckled, grabbed his cheek before nudging him away.
Shrugging, in a moment’s time the younger boy let it go. “Fine. I’ll be back with my next ideas, then. Thanks anyways, Y/N!”
Shaking your head, you filed the book into your unsorted stack behind you, waved as he ran swiftly through the hall, steps echoing. “Scurry off! I don’t want to see you or Chenle at the Hospital Wing because of your bright ideas!”
Jaehyun lightly knocked on the wood, your eyes averting to the tall figures opposite your table. “Hey.”
“Oh! Hey,” you smiled. Your black and yellow robes sheened under the colourful wisps of light that sorted the books in their shelves, soaring way over the heads of students walking by. “Got quite the bundle of books there.”
Jaehyun piled them on the countertop. “Hoping to have read all the books in here before we graduate,” he said triumphantly.
You giggled, lifting the books with the wave of your wand. “May I know the borrower?”
“Do—”
To Jaehyun’s surprise, the boy wasn’t completely engrossed in his book, finding that Doyoung was actually paying great attention to you, Doyoung’s hand having stopped him from finishing his name. If he wasn’t mistaken, he’d even think there was mild interest in Doyoung’s stare.
“Kim Doyoung, Gryffindor,” he stated, sternly, concise and accurate.
You shook your head, your effortless smile increasingly affecting Doyoung’s features. “I mean, you could’ve just said ‘me’ or something. Doyoung, I’ve known you for like, six years.”
“If the goal is to read everything in here, is the first goal to finish all of the—" you read the titles, raising a brow, “soulmate and love related ones first?”
“Listen, I don’t need to hear more judgement about it—”
“No! Don’t misunderstand,” you waved your hand, in turn, making his jaw unclench and neck relax. “I just didn’t think many other people were interested in such a subject. Jungwoo’s been calling me a conservative old fart for thinking so much about it.”
“Oh.”
Jaehyun watched in amusement as Doyoung’s steady façade faltered. “Well, then you’ve got the perfect person here to chat about it. Ask Yuta and he’ll tell you how much Doyoung’s been plagued with the notion.”
“I wouldn’t have guessed.” You beamed at him, pushing back a fallen hair strand.
A nervous haze cruised over Doyoung, seemingly obscuring him from forming proper words – uncommon for the highly opinionated speaker. He was so distracted by the jiggles of the curls framing your hair, he almost forgot to reply. “I-I suppose you could say I know a few things.”
“Well, if you ever feel the need to know more than a few things, let me know.”
Jaehyun wanted to rub his eyes, double check to see if maybe someone had slipped something down his breakfast, because there was a pink tint tainting Doyoung’s cheeks that wasn’t there previously.
Jaehyun cleared his throat, grunted as he heaved the last book on his stack. “Uh, you’ve been part-timing quite a bit, ____. Hogwarts down on staff?”
Your eyes flickered to the other Gryffindor, suddenly aware of your surroundings. “Oh, that,” you blinked back to Doyoung, “Nah, I’m just trying to get a good word in with the superiors. This is a world of making connections, my friend.”
“Ah, I see,” Jaehyun chuckled, still feeling put aside despite your genuine answer, but not as disappointed thanks to the live entertainment of a baffled Doyoung.
“I’ve even started volunteering at the hospital wing.”
“Really?”
“What can I say? I’m a pretty well-rounded gal,” you admitted, jokingly, putting a chirpy hand on your hip.
Jaehyun turned his attention to the raven-haired boy, his dimples reappearing with his knowing smile. Everything Doyoung heard was going through one ear and out the other. “You sure are. Wouldn’t you agree, Doyoung?” He nudged his side, ushering him forward.
His lips moving without command, Doyoung stared back vacantly. The rounded parts of you that danced around his head weren’t necessarily ones of your well-balanced personality. “She sure is.”
Put out of his trance at the sound of his name, seconds after it’d already been said, he blinked back at his snickering company. You blushed at how Doyoung was so evidently immersed in staring at you, his words sounding genuine even to Jaehyun. Still, you just shook your head and took his flirting lightly, and went back to the person next in line.
The embarrassment only caught up once they’d entered the halls.
“Ow! What was that for?” Jaehyun glowered, eyes still retaining its smile.
“You know very well that was for,” Doyoung power walked ahead of him, his robe trailing in the wind behind him.
“Someone’s knickers are in a twist.”
~
The search went on, and no distractions were to be tolerated.
Doyoung devoured information through books in instants, flinging through pages to skim through the next one. He wanted things faster, accurate – more efficient. Desperate for answers. Which is, of course, the only reason he made excessive trips to the library – for more books.
Every busted spell, he’d find himself back where he was now, crouched at a table in a vacant row, nose buried in pages, yet finding himself looking over his shoulder every so often.
“You never took me up on my deal,” you whispered from behind him, startling him enough to have a small shriek escape his lips. It might’ve been the lighting but from his view, but he could only spot your dancing silhouette against the afternoon Sun.
He struggled to find words, rummaging through excuses as you stared back expectantly. “Sorry, I forgot—No, I didn’t. I just didn’t want to bother and um—”
His pacing heart only ebbed when a pert grin split on your face – only to feel like his pulse was coming to a halt at the dimples that stretched your cheeks.
“Well, I’m telling you now that it’s not a bother at all.”
You treaded to the seat across him, asked politely, and plotted yourself with your face buried in your palms, arms propped against the table. “You have a soulmate mark?” You inquired, receiving a curt nod as an answer. “Ah, so it’s a secret.”
“Have it your way, then. I won’t tell you mine either,” you grinned.
“No one’s seen it, so please don’t be offended.”
Doyoung’s fingers twitched to his neck as you flashed another smile at him, shooting pleasant shivers down his spine like a zing! of lightning.
“I’m sure it’s not as pretty as mine,” you gloated, your sweet eyes contrasting your daring tone. He’d always wondered how you didn’t end up as a Gryffindor.
“You know,” you paused, taking care to have his attention – not that that wasn’t already yours, “soulmates are something we’ve got in common with muggles. Though they can’t see the marks like we do, a handful of them still believe in it.”
Abruptly, you shuffled, scrambled for your bag, produced a load of three books within your hands. The way your eyes sparkled as you fluttered through the pages reminded him of the light emitted from the moon – gentle, tender, invasive only in the way that it clawed at a piece of his heart the longer he stared.
“They don’t know their definite fate. And in that is the most beautiful thing – it’s the largest leap of faith any could take, really. Instead of seeing, I don’t know,” your eyes searched the room, “a heart on their wrist, they have to rely completely on a gut feeling.”
You spoke with such fervent emotions, it was hard not to absorb each word that left your soft-looking, pink mouth. “Us, we have soulmarks,” you explained, “Which, I think, is much more convenient.”
He tried not to notice how Yuta’s words resonated in an echo to what he thought Doyoung’s perspective was, his lips twisting into a genuine grin. “And those books?”
“Oh, right.” You pushed it up for him to see, “I thought you’d need more references.” Whipping out a floating list with your wand, you procured books he’d gone through in the past two weeks. Perks of being a librarian’s assistant. “I don’t think we’ve got many left.”
“Do you always carry those around or are those just for me?” he jabbed, half-heartedly hoping the latter was true.
“No, and yes.” You took a moment, grin twisted crookedly, eyebrow raised. “Why? You like the idea of me thinking about you a lot?”
“Wouldn’t mind actually,” he admitted, breaking his own thoughts in surprise.
You stirred, head jerked up with a shocked delight painted on your features. “I like your style, Kim Doyoung,” you lifted yourself off the stool, slung your backpack on one shoulder. “It’s just, next time, don’t make me come looking for you.”
“You’re going?”
You peaked over your shoulder, chuckling to yourself. “And so should you. I don’t suppose Professor Flitwick is going to appreciate his favourite student being late.”
Doyoung read the 10:37 blaring on the grandfather clock, his tailored robes ruffling with his urgency as he scattered the contents of the table into his satchel, jogging down beside you with a flutter in his stomach that erupted when you bumped arms.
~
If he knew why he was walking up to the library, knowing well that it was about to close, and that all other students were rushing back to the dorms, Doyoung probably wouldn’t be doing it. But because he’d so perfected the art of denial, he’d convinced himself that it was because he’d forgotten his pen.
And of course, you’d so happened to be there.
“Oh. Doyoung,” you smiled, flashing him your pearly whites just as you did for everyone.
Sometimes, he liked to think you had a smile reserved for him. Sometimes, he wasn’t wrong.
“____,” he replied. “I’ve finished all the books you’ve given me from the last time.”
You walked out the front desk, shutting the mini gate behind you. Astonishment on your features, you struggled to replay his words. “That’s why you’re here.”
He nodded, confidently, pushing and pulling in breaths to conjure up the courage to talk to you without stuttering like an idiot. After weeks of consistent relaying and charming small talk, he’d finally gained the confidence to put a flirtatious note in his words and he wasn’t going to lose it after one night of cold feet.
You carded a hair out of your face, letting him a look at your beauty. He was sure you looked tired, but there was a nagging in his head shouting that you were too pretty for someone who was tired – whatever that meant.
“That and um, I’m taking over Jaehyun’s duties as Prefect today, and am therefore obliged to accompany you to your common room,” he smiled, flashing you his own crooked smile.
“Alright,” you walked at his pace, looking down at your obvious foot size difference. “But shouldn’t you be leading the first years first?”
He scoffed, inching close enough for your shoulders to bump. “Those kids can get lost.”
You laughed, eyes crinkling at the ends. “So much for a prefect.”
“Oh, they’ll manage.”
The night carried on, filled with laughter and pitted jokes to the other. Sometime between the Sun setting and the moon rising, you’d found yourselves on the courtyard, using a fanned out bush to hide from patrolling teachers.
“You’ve been practicing the spells?” You beamed at him, smile everlastingly reaching your eyes. “Who in Merlin’s beard would volunteer as your target practice?”
“All o’ them,” he stated, only to have you chuckle in disbelief. “That’s not the worst thing we’ve done, so this is no way out of bounds.”
“That so?”
“They’ve dragged me into lots of things. After hearing about Animagus – Animagi is it? Whatever. When Yuta heard about it in 4th year, he just couldn’t wait to turn into a peacock of all things,” Doyoung loosened the knuckle white grip he had on his coat as your melancholic laughter continued to roar out into the night. “Safe to say he unfortunately isn’t a peacock, though.”
“And what did you want to be?” you quipped.
He leaned on the wall, crossed his arms. “I wanted to be a tiger. Much cooler than some bird,” he explained, matter-of-factly. “Cats eats birds, and all a tiger is, is a bad ass cat.”
Soon enough, a lit wand flashed your way and you ducked beneath the cemented walls, disrupting your chatting session under the sky. You couldn’t help giggling as Doyoung procured jelly beans to throw in the other direction. Somehow, his plan worked. One “take my hand” later and your pampered hand was in his, being dragged down to the kitchens where your common room was by.
Doyoung blamed the heat of his hand on the adrenaline rush, and not the image of your warm, delicate hand in his.
He halted in a corner, wedging you both into a blind spot from all corners but the entrance of your dorm.
And then he noticed your proximity.
You were within a breath’s distance. From here, he could spot a flicker of glitter on your eyelash, sparkling as you batted it away. The hammering in his chest seemingly pounded itself to get closer to you, and he was honestly scared it would try.
You turned back, eyes throbbing with adrenaline. “Quick thinking, Mr. Prefect. Got me straight to my common room.”
A shell of a smile broke onto his face as you patted the space beside you, “So, would you like to explain to me why you’re on such a search? Never would’ve guessed that was your main priority right now. Thought it’d be something like studying.”
He scoffed. “You say that derogatively.”
You scoffed back, met his eyeline. “I meant it derogatively.”
“Well, since you asked so nicely, I’ll tell you,” he said lowly, voice languid and gentle. “I’m impatient.”
You stared blankly, confusion overtaking your features. Anybody who knew 11-year-old Doyoung would know he was impatient – he defined the word.
“I don’t like waiting and I’m not going to wait for fate to tell me what to do.”
You stifled a laugh, rolled your eyes. “That’s what it is? You don’t like people telling you what to do? Oddly enough, I can’t think of anything that would suit you more,” you sneered, picked mockingly at his gold and maroon shimmering robe.
“That’s what I’d tell my friends,” he paused, drew his lips into a line. “The whole truth is though, I really just want to know who they are. I want to see if it’s all true, the feelings that rush through you, and the endless, unconditional pining that overtakes your complete being for them. How they’re all you’ll ever need to be satisfied. I’ve read it in all the books. Can’t find that out till I meet them.”
He couldn’t read what your eyes were saying but if he had to guess, he’d say they were awestruck, mirroring the shimmering lights of the basements as you blinked sluggishly. “It’s stupid, but that’s the vulnerable truth.”
You scuttled closer, slipped the collar of his robe between your fingers. “If that’s the case, then I think you’re more of a Hufflepuff than you let on,” you beamed at him, meeting the vacant stare that shot from his eyes. “Kind, warm, filled with love,” you trailed your finger down the outline of his face, “That or you’re just really good at sweet talking me.”
Your finger stung on his skin. Doyoung was biting the corner of his lip until he struck blood, result of staring at your – your plush lips that so tunneled his vision. “I’d like to think it’s a fair mix of both.”
And he was about to lean in, tilting his head to meet yours, his nose overwhelmed by the sweet watermelon scent that could only come in bottles, hesitating with only a second left before your lips braised his.
This was a risk he wasn’t sure he was willing to take. This wasn’t what he’d planned – he had no clue if you were his soulmate or not, and that could be dangerous.
Swiftly, he went over your features, scanning for the familiar olive branch on your neck, eyes frantic and desperate, only to find none. Regret loomed over him, filled the pits of his stomach with malice, left him wishing he could take it back, but the moment of hesitance was enough to put you off.
You jerked up, chin held high, jaw clenched. Your once vibrant eyes radiated animosity, vacant, sore and bare.
“I think I heard some footsteps. Better to go in,” you opened your mouth, as if to say something, but then seem to think better of it. With a sigh, you kept your head lowered, like you were terrified to look up. “Good night, Doyoung.”
You sounded shattered. And he was the cause. In all his life, he’d never felt lower.
If you’d stayed just a second longer, you would’ve heard the crack of his foot against the wall he’d just kicked and the painful yelp he’d screamed after.
~
As a Gryffindor, Doyoung felt anything but brave. His suave composure didn’t seem to extend to apologizing to fantastic, sarcastic, women with infectious honey smiles.
“Jaehyun, I think I love her,” nothing but tenderness in his whisper.
Without missing a heartbeat, Jaehyun was quick to answer. “Bud, I know you do.”
~
The autumn chill creeped up Hogwarts’ windowsills, wind howled through the halls in loud echoes. And as the weather got dimmer, Doyoung only felt his mood dampen as he got no closer to his objective – his objective which had apparated elsewhere and vanished from his sight. He didn’t know what he wanted anymore.
Doyoung wiped his dry cheek, head struggling to keep itself balanced on his palm as he stared listlessly at the crossed-out page of useless words. He lacked motivation – and despite constant teasing and insurance to make sure Doyoung was irked at all times, his friends couldn’t bear to see him pouty.
There they sat, legs sprawled like a web of entangled spiders, drawing the perfect example for the first years passing by to the study hall as they wasted their free hours. A clump of boys, rowdy, and loud, sitting out on the curb.
Amongst the crowd however, Doyoung stayed still, quiet and yielding as he stared a hole through his trial journal.
The others were worried, but only few brave soldiers are ever up to the task.
Ten cleared his throat, “Hey, you feeling in a slump?”
Lifting his eyes, the boy in question turned his glare onto the Slytherin instead, noting the silence that dawned upon the group. Only Jaehyun knew the happenings of that night – and Doyoung planned to keep it that way. “I’m not in a slump.”
“Okay,” Yuta put his arm over his shoulder, “Then you’re not. But if you were, what could we do to make it better?”
Doyoung allowed the silence to linger, mute for a moment as he watched the rain begin to pour. “Maybe this whole soulmate thing is stupid.”
“Rubbish. You haven’t spent a month’s worth of time on that to get nowhere,” Ten continued, invited himself to flip through the notebook. “Look, there are still some spells yet to be tested.”
A miniscule smile tugged Doyoung’s lips, forcefully creeping up on his face, and that was all the rest needed to pull him off the chair and into the open air. They dragged him under the rain, ignoring his yaps and hisses when the water soaked his clothes.
They managed to make him laugh when Taeyong’s attempt to reveal Johnny’s deepest desire through a spell paints a picture not safe to describe.
(“Oh, man I don’t think I want to know the rest of your secrets,” Taeyong grimaced, blinking back the picture to erase it.
“I told you, I’m a mystery,” Johnny gloated, as Taeyong took a step back, nose scrunching in disgust.
“Yeah, and stay that way you freak,” Yuta chuckled at his smugness, poking him with the notebook.)
They had successfully cured him of his sadness by the time water pooled the heels of their shoes, and wrinkles formed on their fingers. But they still had to get a kick out of him, otherwise they wouldn’t really be his friends. Jaehyun prompted this first.
As Doyoung was busy running away from Taeyong, who had dipped his designer shoes into a mud pie he’d made and had full intention on making that Doyoung’s shampoo, Jaehyun sneakily ran up to Yuta, whispered in his ear. Smirking at each other, they let the other boys in, only to stop when the other two had come back around, Doyoung with a new mud facial and Taeyong, a scratch on his arm.
“Oi Doyoung,” Yuta yelled, eyes smizing. “C’mere.”
Like unsuspecting prey, he jogged up with a wide grin, already halfway up the small hill, his grin vanishing once he saw the one on Jaehyun’s face. “No!”
The boys clambered to run after him, Johnny on his right and Jaehyun on his left – only giants can take down another.
“You don’t even know what we’re about to do yet!”
Doyoung struggled, groaned and grew limp in Johnny’s arms as the older boy lifted him above his shoulders, managing to make Doyoung look frail in comparison. All he could do was shoot glares. “I don’t have to, I already know I won’t like it.”
Yuta ignored his pleas, the grunts he made through failed escapes, focusing instead to find the last untested spell. “One spell. Please,” he pleaded, tossing the book over to Jaehyun who begged to be the one to administer it.
Gritting his teeth, Doyoung shook his head.
“It’ll give you a nice happy image of your soulmate, and maybe then you can find ‘em,” Jaehyun continued, slyly. “We’re doing this because we love you.”
He ground his teeth some more, puffing through his cheeks with his arms fighting for freedom. “You’re doing this because you’re assholes.”
Doyoung being angry never stopped them from doing what they did and before he knew any better, there was a flash of pink-green light, filling every corner of his vision with Jaehyun’s voice ringing in the distance.
Fade to black.
~
“I told you not to do it,” a voice muttered, lowly.
“No, you told me to aim for the head!”
“And therefore, telling you not to do what you were doing then!”
Doyoung blinked once. Then twice.
Squinting, he searched the room. He could only think of Jaehyun, the rain, and the splitting headache that hammered against his forehead.
“It’ll give you a nice happy image of your soulmate, and maybe then you can find ‘em.”
Right. They had done this.
Light tunneled his vision, not as overwhelming as the last, filling his sight once more. Except when this cleared, he was no longer in the courtyard. His clothes were dry, and somehow he was wearing a different pair of trousers. He’d ended up on a bed, in the Hospital Wing, his head whirring and his back throbbing in a constant pain.
But beyond all, when he opened his eyes, he saw you.
You were there, beaming down at him, smiling, this time without flashing him your teeth. It was dark, but he could make out your features. From the curve of your cheek to the arc of your nose, he could pluck you from a crowd – he knew this was you.
Debating whether this was a fever dream, or was the effect of the spell, he thought to pinch himself. A fighting voice within him told him the latter.
A crash resounded from the other end of the room before he had the chance to adjust, making Doyoung jolt up at the sudden raucous.
“Hey!” You jumped, waving your hands at him to calm him down, meeting his widened and frightened eyes.
Seeing you reassured him this wasn’t a fever dream, but now he wasn’t sure whether he preferred it to be one. Still, he relaxed, shuffled back in his bed, looked around at the moonlit curtains that shielded his mini-corner.
Doyoung opened his mouth only to close it. It had been a week since the night by the kitchens and he was beyond ashamed to look you in the eye– some bravery he had.
“Jaehyun brought you up here,” you whispered, back faced towards him as you poured a glass of water. “Well, all of them did, but he said to make sure you could imagine his shit-eating grin when you woke up.”
Doyoung stifled a laugh for your sake, hiding the growl at the base of his throat for another day. Imagine his shit eating grin, he could.
You held out the cup, prompting him to drink. Doyoung couldn’t help but hesitate, not knowing why you were bothering caring for him.
Muttering a thanks, he took a sip and put it aside. Just like any other time he saw you, he felt this gnawing scratching at his neck, like—his neck.
“Shit.”
Doyoung jerked his focus to his clothes, melting into a liquid when he noticed the turtle neck that wrapped his body. Relief has never come as such bliss. His eyes flickered to you, wondering if you’d seen his mark, only to grow desponded when the question of ‘why would you care?’ came to mind. You shouldn’t care. He didn’t even give you the benefit of the doubt before.
“Y/N.” He cleared his throat.
Doyoung was greeted with your doe eyes. They lacked sleep but retained the resistance to stop from closing. Still, he found them undeniably enchanting.
“Shouldn’t you be sleeping?” he croaked.
You shrugged, fiddling with your thumbs. “To be fair, you should be too,” you joked, a dry laugh escaping your lips. “So, a spell, huh? Something finally went wrong?” You jived, faintly smiling. “Had a feeling I’d see you here if you kept that up.”
“I don’t know if it’d help, but Jungwoo’s quite the alchemist. He helps over here too. Maybe dabbling in potions might—”
Doyoung shook his head sternly, jaw clenched and Adam’s apple bobbing. “No, I don’t think so.”
You paused, gaped. “Oh.”
With your head bowed and lighting dim, he almost missed the gutted fall of your chest when he said that. A restless hope wished that maybe you were going to miss him at the library.
“Can I ask why?” You sounded almost distraught, like speaking betrayed you.
“I don’t want my mark telling me what I can or cannot do,” he stated, a light tone in his voice. You looked up, a ghost of a smile taking its place on your lips. “It’s already stopped me before.”
Expanding his arms out to yours, he grabbed your neck with a gentle force, managing to cradle it between his wide palm, imposing but loose enough that you could retract any time you wished. He registered your eyes and hoped that his judgement wasn’t betraying him in thinking you wanted the same thing.
He gave you only a smile before pulling you in. “Fuck soul marks.”
And like the pink-green flashes from the spell before, it was all happening in a rapid blur. Your lips on his brought out a sultry need for more, leaving few moments for breaths in between. All that ran through his head was the image of you, your warmth, the way in which your synchronized rhythm paired with his in fast paced movement. Doyoung’s entire being couldn’t help but indulge in you.
Seeing your stupid smile, forehead against his, Doyoung just knew he mirrored that same shit-eating, helplessly happy grin and wasn’t ashamed of how much he wanted more of you.
He didn’t know why he ever thought fate could decide anything for him. (or at least, not unless it did that without telling him)
~ bonus ~
“Doyoung, will you ever show me your tattoo?”
Eyes wider than a deer in the headlights, anyone could tell he wanted to say no. You’d only been dating for two weeks, this would put a permanent damper on anything henceforth if it wasn’t what you thought it was going to be.
He shifted underneath you, adjusting his trademark turtleneck as you played with the tips of his hair. He was searching for doubt in your eyes, anything to mirror the fear that was building within him, but he was only met with eyes of deep pleasure. “Are you sure?”
Nodding, you hid your smirk.
He tilted his head in uncertainty but followed nonetheless. You watched in amusement as he revealed his bare shoulders, vast and as wide as the sea. You allowed your eyes to feast, hands travelling at their own will, finding yourself too busy to even bother to look for the wretched mark.
You gaped at him, transfixed, with more than just butterflies erupting in your stomach.
“It’s on my neck,” he cleared up, confused as to why you’ve completely abandoned the overall objective.
You hummed, lifted yourself from his torso and patted his chest as to say, ‘give me a minute, I’ll be right back’. Looking him dead in the eye, you grinned, “I know.”
“You do?” Doyoung jumped in shock, managing to lift your body with his, landing you in his lap.
Your grin spreading wider, expanding as fast as the shock registered on his features. You allowed your arms to dangle around his neck, whispering in his ear with more breath than needed. “I saw it back at the Hospital Wing.”
He pulled you back, meeting your stare with his expectant one. Bunny furrowed eyebrows and all. “And I’m happy to say…that you’re dating your soulmate, baby.”
You peeled off the bandage on your arm, Doyoung already analyzing that you getting scratched by a werewolf was a complete lie, revealing the familiar outline Doyoung had come to know.
“Wait, why’d you make me wait two weeks?” The tone of betrayal laced into his sentence.
“That’s for not kissing me back then,” you retorted, planting one gently on his lips with dedicated grace. “I’m nice but I’m not a saint.”
“Fair enough,” he let it go, too entranced in the identical mark that scarred your arm. Shooting you the toothiest smile, he looked at you with one objective. “Now c’mere, I’ve got to give the soulmate I chose a kiss.”
Doyoung still didn’t like being told what to do, but he didn’t mind how fate matched him with you, so he’d just have to let that slide.

Not Alone | Pt. 04
Tumblr media
Summary: Hayoon has never had an easy life. From a very early age she learned that if she wanted to be a known designer, she would have to work harder than most. After years of working odd jobs since high school trying to take care of her family, at the age of 29 she has finally been offered the opportunity to become a stylist for one of the top entertainment companies in South Korea: SM Entertainment. Little does she know that working there will change her life forever.
Fashion, idols and love all in one. Will she be able to handle it, or will the pressure of it all make her give up on her dreams?
Rating: M
Pairing: Jaehyun & Hayoon/Reader
Genre & Warning:  Strangers to lovers. Angst, eventual fluff and maybe smut. Talk about depression and abandonment.
A/N: My first NCT fanfic. I named the female character Hayoon. Though I wrote her a bit more mature, you can change her name to yours if you want. It’s written in 3rd person. I feel like I should add the (obvious) disclaimer that the story is not real, and though the characters are inspired by the members of NCT, they are not the members.
PS. The name of the story is inspired by NCT 127’s Not Alone.

“Did you hear? They hired a new girl without any experience.”
“Yes, I even saw her interrupt Sang-Hee’s session.” The girl had a long braid down her back, her expression annoyed as she was surrounded by two other girls. “She even got here late. The audacity of her thinking she can have her way her first day.”
Hearing that conversation gave Hayoon flashbacks of high school. She was bullied and looked down upon because her mother abandoned them and her father was unable to work so she would sometimes see her classmates across a coffee shop counter after taking their order. She was old enough not to let things like that bother her, but she did find it ridiculous how there were people already talking about her, her first day.
Hayoon watched the girls walk out of the elevator in front of her before following out into the lobby.
“Hayoon!” she looked up at Sungho waiting for her. He smiled brightly at her as always.
Sungho had been the kid she used to fight with at lunch over dessert. They eventually decided to split the dessert and slowly they became friends. Since then on they had simply become part of each other’s lives. It was partly because of him that Hayoon had applied at SM. Sungho worked in SM as a photographer and made a few questions here and there before letting Hayoon know that there was a possible job opening.
“You didn’t have to wait for me.” Hayoon smiled falling into step next to him.
“You’re still new. You might get lost on your way down.”
“Right, cause I don’t know how to get to the lobby I came in through in the first place.”
After traffic, they made it to the bar close to her apartment where Minsuh and Yeona were already waiting with their first round of soju and beer.
“So? How was it?” Yeona asked serving them another round.
“Did you see any naked idols?” Minsuh raised her brows suggestively.
“Is that really your first question?” Sungho rolled his eyes.
“I bet she’ll see someone naked before you do.” Yeona said pointedly.
“I see idols shirtless from time to time,” he paused and rubbed his temple. “What am I even saying?” he drank from his glass.
“She probably saw someone shirtless today so your awesomeness has been greatly reduced.” Minsuh shrugged.
“And here I was thinking you’d want to listen to how much designer brands I saw in one rack alone.” Hayoon laughed more to herself.
“You can ignore them. I’ll listen to your day unlike them as always.” Sungho turned to her.
“You say that but where were you last week when she was having a meltdown?” Minsuh shot feigning innocence.
“It was not a meltdown thank you very much.”
“I was pulling an all-nighter.”
They both answered at the same time.
“Ok. For real now, how was it?” Yeona asked.
“My boss is obviously a woman who’s made a name for herself. The people seem nice. Tomorrow I have to get to the office at five am though.”
“Five am?” Minsuh looked shocked.
“I’m part of tomorrow’s morning team so I’ll be going to the bathroom before calling it a night,” she grabbed her bag and made her way to the bathroom.
“Did you really have to throw me under the buss?” Sungho shot Minsuh a deadly look.
“I mean we all know you work like crazy and if you didn’t you’d be with us so there was no harm in the comment. The real problem here is you still being this slow. It’s been over ten years. When will you make your move already?”
Sungho looked at Yeona for support. “Don’t look at me. If you don’t tell her how you feel you might never find out if you have a chance or not.”
Sungho sighed looking at his half-empty glass. He had been next to Hayoon for so long. He had seen her sort of date but never stick with anyone. She was always working, she was always taking care of her family and he was always there but she had never hinted at maybe liking him like he liked her.
-
“Good morning Hayoon.” Sang-Hee greeted her with a  bright smile. “I’m going to ask you to help with the setup for Johnny, Doyoung and Jaehyun’s racks before the members come in in an hour. I want you to meet them before we head out.”
“Head out?”
“Oh, we’re sending you with the team heading for Jaehyun’s shoot today. We want you to have the experience of working with the members when they need to perform as soon as possible. We have an hour so let’s get to it.”
Hayoon stood in the corner of the studio Jaehyun was shooting in finishing the notes she had taken of Jungwoo, Yuta, Taeil and Mark. She could immediately understand on another level what Sang-Hee meant when she said that she would see a lot of sides to the members. They were all extremely energetic at times, kind and professional too. She was starting to picture outfits for the seven members she had officially met. She hadn’t looked them up even after knowing she would work with them knowing that meeting them in person would be more helpful. Seeing how the person moved and held themself was always something she wanted to consider when making designs for specific people.
“You’re lucky you didn’t get Haechan with Jungwoo and Doyoung the same day.” Jaehyun laughed standing next to her. Hayoon suddenly jumped closing the notebook with her notes. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you.
They both bowed politely at each other.
“Good morning.” Hayoon greeted him.
“I hope the members weren’t too much this morning.”
“Oh, not at all. They were very polite.” Hayoon tried to hold back a smile remembering Jungwoo doing aegyo at Mark while Yuta wrapped an arm around Mark’s neck pulling him away from Jungwoo all while Taeil stood as  a bystander. “How does the jacket feel?” she quickly remembered why she was there.
Jaehyun had hair and makeup done, he had dressed as well and now stood in front of her like a full fledge idol compared to when they had met first.
“It’s good.”
“Want me to check the neck, seems like it might be digging into your neck,” she quickly noticed. Jaehyun nodded politely standing in front of a mirror. Hayoon moved around him. She tried to reach his neck but couldn’t find an angle where she could actually reach. Jaehyun suddenly crouched down a bit. “I have a better idea,” she said reaching for a stool close by. She quickly stepped onto it. Jaehyun smiled, his dimples present as always. He watched her work through the mirror, her hands brushing his neck briefly. He watched her brow furrow in concentration. “Ok, now turn around.”
He did as asked and faced her. They stood face to face thanks to the stool. Before either could do anything, Hayoon slipped from the stool onto Jaehyun’s arms. He held onto her steadying them both. Hayoon could feel his arms around her waist, her chest against his chest and suddenly her neck was warm. He gently put her down and let her go.
“Are you ok?” he cleared his throat asking nicely hoping his ears weren’t red.
“Yes. Thank you. I’m sorry.”
“No need to apologize.”
“Jaehyun they need you on stage.”
“Does it feel better?” Hayoon asked.
Jaehyun looked at himself in the mirror one last time moving the jacket around. “Yes. Much better thank you.”
“Oh, before you go I need to take a picture of the outfit,” she remembered Sang-Hee had asked her to do so before leaving the dressing room. Jaehyun stood against the door and posed. Hayoon realized not for the first time how attractive he was. “Thank you.”
“Thank you,” he smiled before leaving the room.
Hayoon looked around the room feeling self-conscious suddenly, she could still feel Jaehyun’s arms around her waist. She wanted to hit herself for so many reasons in that moment. She started to question if she was truly that deprived of any physical contact with an attractive man when she remembered how deprived she actually was. She pushed the thoughts away. She was working, she shouldn’t be thinking about her personal needs during work, especially because of a young idol that was clearly off limits not only because of the obvious fact of him being an idol, but because she could clearly hear Eun Sook’s warning. Her needs would have to be silent, she wasn’t going to risk getting into trouble because she found an idol attractive. She was there to work and that was it.

pairing: Nct Dream x Reader  [female]
genre/au: fluff | teeny bit of angst (to come) | enemies to lovers | Everyone is just a clueless bunch of weirdos, you get the drill.
warnings: slight swearing.
A/N: its’s my first fanfic so no judgment lol | each chp is kinda short but I’ll update often | here we go~
_____________________________________
"I was warned,  and god I wish I listened.”
[8:02 am]
“Y/n get the hell up already!! ” Renjun growled, shaking the coffee cup in front of you in order to tempt you to get up. And it worked.“ Do I really have to bribe you with coffee every single morning to get you to get up?”
“…maybe”
and he laughed that beautiful laugh. “You ready for the first day back to school?” he asked, already knowing the answer.
“Please don’t remind me, I literally just got up if you don’t remember”
And that was how almost every day started. Renjun lived quite close to you and your brother's apartment, and his family owned a cafe (one of the reasons you two were friends.) so while he fueled your coffee addiction, you did his homework once a week. Cmon, you know Renjun wouldn't do anything for free.
———
Let’s just say you did not miss school AT ALL, and even that was an understatement, you fucking hated this shithole. The books, the exams, the gossip that spread like wildfire. However a part of you missed Renjun’s sarcasm and Lila’s warming smile first thing in the morning. And that’s what you were counting on to get you through this year.
Renjun has been your best friend for as long as you can remember. As for Lila, she joined your little group 3 years ago when she transferred from Kyoto, Japan. Since then, they’ve been all you’ve ever needed. Up until now, they were all you ever wanted, but something in you felt like this year was going to be a little bit different.
Nothing changed as you met Renjun and Lila in the cafeteria. Lila always looked like a fairy, with bright eyes. She was the prettiest girl you’ve ever met, with jet black hair tied into two moon buns with baby hair spilling out. Her makeup was always perfectly minimal, and she tucked an oversized patterned jumper into a pair of ripped mom jeans.
Renjun, however, had his hair dyed a shade darker than his natural one, he was the most sarcastic person you’ve ever met and if you needed a wrestling match to cheer you up, you knew you could always count on him. He was good at studying when he wanted to, but he was better at eating.
You were a bit different from the others, you had never dated anyone, yet you spent your time reading romance novels. Your hair was still in the same abstract shape it was in last night, and you were wearing comfy, maybe too comfy clothes. But they loved you none the less. More like they put up with you.
“So…guess who I’m sitting beside in homeroom?” Lila announced, beaming. This happened every year, Lila was nothing but a flirt with nice eyes, which she batted sweetly at whomever she sat beside in homeroom, in order to win them over, like a challenge.
“Go on..” Renjun rolled his eyes, getting bored with this annual conversation.
“Jaemin.”
And that was enough to get Renjun’s attention.
“And you’re happy? Like How?  He only flirts his way through, basically everything and then leaves them in the dark wanting more!?”
Yet Lila winked suggestively. “Exactly”
“As if he’ll ever even talk to you.” he scoffed
“Oh, I’m sorry what’s this?” Lila retorted as she pulled out a piece of paper with a number on it. “And I’m even going to Haechan’s party.”
Renjun never sighed so loudly before, as you laughed at the two of them.
Jaemin held a reputation, which you were aware of, which everyone was aware of. People say he flirts with teachers to get out of homework, others say if you look into his eyes for too long you fall in love. Both are believable. He was charming, to say the least, and you haven’t even met him before.
Every girl in the school was wrapped around his pinky finger, all he had to do was ask, and they’d drop to their knees. Despite his ‘alluring personality’, he’s never had a girlfriend for longer than a week. Well, that’s what Taeil said, and you know Taeil better than to believe everything he spits out.
He was basically every girl's fantasy— to put it short. But he wasn’t yours.
“Y/n…Y/N!!! The bell rang, let’s get to class.” Renjun said waving a hand in front of your face, interrupting your daydream thinking.
When you burst into class, silence descended upon the room.
“Ahh y/n, I see you’ve actually decided to come to my class, sadly….oh and Renjun.” Ms.Bracken scowled. God, you hated her. “This year I’ll have to split you two up, finally, y/n…back corner, Renjun… hmm, right in front of me.” and she smiled a deathly smile.
You lifted your gaze to see your deskmate, reading, taking sips of coffee with every paragraph. He was beautiful, and then his dark eyes met yours.
“Hi, I’m Jeno.” he smiled, and you almost melted right on the spot.
You barely stuttered out your name as you took your seat….awkwardly at that.
You’ve seen Jeno around the campus, I mean how could you not with that face. He was handsome, smart, and he was a god at football, but he was sweet, a little bit awkward, and he thought he was funny (he wasn’t) but how could you not laugh. He was perfect, and you would most definitely agree with stars brightening your eyes and warming your heart.
He was definitely one of the more ‘well-known’ people in our school, as well as the group he carries himself with. But anyone could tell you he’s the least of a ‘dick’ in that group, which was why you were glad to see him sitting beside you instead of someone like, Jaehyun for example who would probably try chat up the wall.
You felt relieved because so far everything was going quite well. Which was unusual because bad luck had a way of following you at this school.
‘Maybe this year won’t be so bad at all.’
But clearly it was too early to tell because by the time lunchtime came, you had already made a new enemy. And god was he gorgeous.

2019 in Review
I’m gonna do a bunch of different categories. Also the first half or two-thirds of the year might be more heavily represented because I’ve had more time to sit with them plus I was gone and only semi-keeping up since September. Anyways overall takeaway from this year, the boys impressed me.
Favorite Summer Songs (not many groups released summer songs)
For The Summer (special album) - WJSN
Feedback - Boa
Questions - Zelo
Wave - ATEEZ
Illusion - ATEEZ
I'm mad Seventeen didn’t release Network Love in summer
Rookie of the Year
Female: GWSN
I had to give it to them once I found out that they were my #5 Spotify artist! I didn’t even realize I listened to them that much but I really do like they’re music. I just don’t know anything about them.
Male : TXT / VERIVERY
Honorable Mention: CIX, AB6IX
This was so hard because the newer boy groups have really been impressing me this year. I don’t think I mention TXT or VERIVERY on my blog at all but both have started their careers with a solid discography and verivery already has a signature sound. CIX and AB6IX get honorable mention for their amazing debuts but I think both of their comeback projects are weaker than the debuts.
Not Song of the Year But You Should Definitely Check It Out
1m1s - W Project 4
An emotional dance bop! Watch the choreography video. I wouldn’t even be mad if they put this on their debut album.
Face - Woosung
You’ve probably already heard this but if you haven’t go listen. Woosung carries this song with his voice
Still Loving You - 100%
Let’s Get Loud - We In The Zone (WITZ)
Time of our Life - Day6
I feel like this didn’t get as much hype as their other titles. Please enjoy happy Day6!!
Reminsce All - ONEWE
As I’ve already said this song epitomizes slow burn.
All night - ASTRO
You probably know this one too but you should stream it again anyways
Focus - Kim Dong Han
I feel like people really overlooked this one. If he had released it like a month and a half later I feel like it could have done well as a song for the summer that doesn’t sound like a summer song
Leave it - N.FLYING
Feel Good - Jang Dae Hyeon
The song makes you feel good as the title says
Binu - Bibi
I.M. - Horizon
Sometimes solo endeavors can slip under the radar so make sure you check this out.
I Like That - Lee Jinhyuk
Loca Mini Album - Favorite
Remember Me - Boys De Capo (BDC)
Summer! - Pentagon
You may be wondering why this was not in my summer list. Well I didn’t like Humph so I didn’t actually listen to this for awhile.
Round 2 - Pentagon
The Only - Raiden
Thank you Raiden for doing what SM won’t. Blessed Irene solo.
Forever Young - Giant Pink
Love U - Monsta X
I love this song cuz it’s light and catchy but most of all the lyrics.
Tonight, - June
Happiness - Pentagon
Forever Love - Youngjae
good party/dance song
ILLUSION - B.I.G
Fever - DONGKIZ
Super fun and retro
Beautiful Girl - WooSung
TOUCHIN' - Kang Daniel
Really good song I considered putting it in my top song list but there were too many
COME - Newkidd
I pay attention to them mostly bc Hansol but this is their most interesting output so far
The Time I Need - Kim Jaehwan
Take a Hike - Jiyeon
Stray Kids Mixtape : Gone Days
This is my favorite thing I’ve heard from them cuz I don’t like their title track sound
Tie - Oh Saebom
I hate drops so much but this has one of the best instrumental breaks
Maybe I - CIX
Although I was not in love with their comeback, this mellow song stands out
Top Albums
I gave these an order but it’s more you could split the list into thirds of top tier, 2nd tier, 3rd tier (i.e. Feel Special is definitely better than XX but Superhuman is practically on the same level as Feel Special)
Fancy You - TWICE
Feel Special - TWICE
End of Nightmare - Dreamcatcher
Raid of Dream - Dreamcatcher
Superhuman - NCT 127
Famous - Taemin
Moonwalk - WayV
Jumping Suran
HELLO Chapter 1: Hello, Stranger - CIX
The Park In The Night Part Two - GWSN
The Park In The Night Part Three - GWSN
We Boom - NCT DREAM
The Dream Chapter: Magic - TXT
Go Live - ONF
B:COMPLETE - AB6IX
An Ode - Seventeen
As You Wish - WJSN
The Reve Festival Finale - Red Velvet
No - CLC
For the Summer - WJSN
Under Cover - A.C.E.
Flourishing - Chungha
XX - LOONA
Single Albums
3 or less songs because they can’t be compared to proper albums or even minis. This list isn’t as complete as the full album list. It’s really just the single albums I wanted to put on the other list.
Rising - TRCNG
Wolf - Woosung
2/4 - ONEWE
HELLO! - 1TEAM
Veri-Chill - VERIVERY
Nappa - Crush
Female Top Title Song
This year I feel like I was really picky. There were so many songs that I were fine or good but I just didn’t particularly like them. Again like the albums there’s an order but it’s not a hard order
Psycho - Red Velvet
Breakthrough - Twice
Gotta Go - Chungha
Zgzg - Saay
Don’t Hang Up - Suran
Noir - Sunmi
Lalalay - Sunmi
Feel Special - Twice
Snapping - Chungha
Fancy - Twice
Deja Vu - Dreamcatcher
Piri - Dreamcatcher
Picky Picky - Weki Meki
Flower Shower - Hyuna
No - CLC
Dumb - BVNDIT
She’s Fine Heize
IU Bleuming
Butterfly - Loona
Male Top Title Song
On the opposite end I loved A LOT of boy groups songs. I don’t think my blog reflects it at all but buckle up for this long list. Again this list has an order but it’s not a hard order however, number one is definitely my number one. A recurring element of this list is songs with amazing choruses
*Parallel isn’t an official title track but I love VIXX and I don’t care
**Lim Jimin is a late release so I’m tentative about adding his song but I’ve listened to it a few times and I think it has staying power
Missing - TRCNG
Moonwalk - WayV
Superhuman - NCT 127
Famous - Taemin
Alligator - MONSTA X
Why - ONF
Fear - SEVENTEEN
Sunset - KNK
We Must Love - ONF
Tag Tag Tag - VERIVERY
Bullet to the Heart - Jackson Wang
Run Away - TXT
Breathe - AB6IX

Last Time I Saw You...
Tumblr media
pairing jung jaehyun x female reader
summary every time he closes his eyes, he goes back to december 24th, 2017.
genre & theme angst bc thats all i know how to write, non-idol au
warnings death
author’s note lol idk what the fuck I was doing with this I was gonna base this off nct u’s timeless but I guess I got carried away and boom
Jaehyun was always eager to fall asleep, his friends never really knew why, but they never asked, deciding he just loved sleep a lot. That was somewhat the truth, but it was what happened during his sleep that he loved -- dreams.
Every time he falls asleep, he goes back to December 24th, 2017. The last time he saw you.
The day before Christmas was cold, as always during December in Seoul, when he got a call from you to meet him at the coffee shop you guys always went to. He had gotten there ten minutes early, deciding to wait at a table after ordering drinks for the two of you. The bell over the door rang and his head turned, finding you at the door, your nose red and you kept sniffling, as you pulled the hood of your coat down. Your eyes found his and you smiled, walking over to the table.
Jaehyun smiled back until he caught sight of your bare legs, ‘‘Hey, you! Why are you wearing a dress in this weather?‘‘ He reached over and tugged your white dress down, frowning up at you. You smiled sheepishly, settling down across from him as you took off your gloves.
‘‘Rest of my clothes were in the washer,‘‘ you explained, accepting the hot chocolate he slid over to you, ‘‘This was the only thing acceptable in public in my closet.’‘ You let out a laugh.
‘‘I could’ve just came over,’‘ he replied, eyeing you.
‘‘I didn’t feel like cleaning.’‘
‘‘You have an answer for everything, don’t you?’‘ He smiled, watching you take a sip of the hot chocolate and look up at him from under your eyelashes.
You smiled, ‘‘Maybe.’‘ The rest of your time was as normal as usual, the two of you talking of your plans for Christmas day, both of you would be spending the day with your families, seeing as neither of you saw your families as much as you liked to due to college.
It was almost dark when the two of you realized you’d been there all day, both your hot chocolates gone by then. The two of you looked at each other sheepishly smiling before the two of you started to get up, putting your coats back on.
‘‘Do you need a ride home?’‘ You asked Jaehyun, him helping you button your coat before you slid on your gloves.
He shook his head, ‘’No, it’s fine, I’ll get a ride on the bus.’’ He smiled, ‘‘Thanks for the offer, though.’‘
The two of you split the bill, waving goodbye to the waitress as you two walked out the warm coffee shop and into the cold. You shivered, the two of you walking to your car as you unlocked it before turning to face him.
‘‘Stay safe,’‘ You started, ‘‘I don’t exactly...’‘
‘‘Trust public transportations,’‘ he laughed, ‘‘I know, and I will. Be careful driving,’‘ he looked around, squinting as he spotted the ice on the road, ‘‘Ice on the roads,’‘ he murmured, before looking back at you, sending a smile your way, ‘‘I’ll see you back at campus?’‘
You smiled, nodding your head as you pulled him into a hug. He inhaled the scent of your shampoo, closing his eyes as his arms tightened around you. He felt you relax in his arms, his body heat warming you. You pulled away first, sending him another smile as you squeezed his arm, ‘‘See you.’‘
He stepped away from your car as you got in, him waving as you backed out of your parking space. He watched your car drive around the corner before he finally backed up as a bus pulled up to the bus stop, hurrying to get in.
That was the last time Jaehyun saw you.  You in your white dress, coffee brown coat, with your hair down for the first time since you guys were sixteen. He got the call the next day from your older sibling, them explaining on your way home from the coffee shop a driver was driving through a red light, and due to the ice on the road, you couldn’t stop in time and the cars collided. Your sibling had said it was pretty bad, and the doctors did everything they could to save you, but in the end, they couldn’t.
He went to your funeral two weeks later, watching as your casket was lowered into the ground after your family said words, watching as your mother cried her heart out into your father’s chest, your father holding an expression of pain as he tried to hold back his tears.
You were taken too soon, Jaehyun knew. He wished he had taken your offer to drive him home, maybe ... at least, he’d be with you.
Jaehyun’s eyes flickered open at the sound of an alarm, the sun through the blinds blinding him momentarily as he rapidly blinked his eyes open. He sighed, turning to his side to turn his alarm off. As he turned, he caught sight of the picture in the frame on his bed side table.
The picture was of the two of you in your uniforms, at your high school graduation. The two of you were beaming, both glad to be out of high school, even if it was only for a few months before you started college.
Jaehyun smiled wistfully, wishing you were here with him, right by his side. But you weren’t. And you never would be again.

The War
Fandom(s): EXO,NCT, and Red Velvet
Type: Multi-chapter
Part: CH.1 - Prologue
Summary: Exo. The name alone brought the people fear. The infamous gang resided in Seoul, South Korea but was well known around the world. With a powerful sub-gang and dominant alliances, they were unbeatable. Exo consisted of 12 leaders and hundreds of men. The 12 leaders were a family. With many enemies coming for their heads they strived to be the most powerful. With old enemies coming to light, how will Exo deal with love and betrayal while still defending their honor. Will Exo continue to be one or will they crumble once and for all?
Third Person POV
“They betrayed us. Hyung they betrayed us! They lied and pretended to care. All so that can find out our weaknesses and expose them to the enemy!”
Disbelief. That’s all that Kim Junmyeon, the co-leader of Exo could feel upon the revelation. The powerful leader, the one who would torture someone until they gave him what he wanted, could do nothing but stare at his members. His brain working on overdrive tried to make sense of what had become of their situation. He couldn’t think about how and when everything went wrong. Things were looking well, their enemy had been quiet, they had just expanded their territory, and most of all they had only recently signed an agreement with Super Junior stating that their sub-gang NCT will now be working for them as a peace agreement between the two powerful gangs.
It was then did Suho realize that their peace was really the calm before the storm.
____________________________
1 month earlier
Third Person POV
Seoul was a very popular city. With companies starting up left and right it's no wonder it’s one of the most richest cities in the world. With great food, people and culture, it definitely earned their popularity. Although it’s atmosphere was very well-known around the world there was also a much sinister reason for why the city was so popular. The city was home to the infamous gang, Exo. Under their rule, the city was almost always on their toes for an all out gang war but with such a powerful gang ruling it was a very much safe place.
Exo is a gang consisting of 12 head members with a sub-gang and multiple alliances.. Kim Junmyeon and Wu Yifan, better known as Suho and Kris, were co-leaders to the gang. Both, who although have opposite personalities, can be in sync with how they rule their empire. Lu-Han, Lu, and Kim Minseok, Xiumin, were Kris’ and Suho’s right hand men respectively. The men both were in charge of the gangs drug trade and often dealt with the clients. Oh Sehun and Kim Jongin, Kai, were the gangs trainers, making sure everyone were in shape and ready to fight at any moment. They were often the first line of attack, leading their team into combat and clearing way for the rest of the gang. Byun Baekhyun, Park Chanyeol, and Kim Jongdae, Chen, or in other words the gangs beagle line, contrary to their looks, were the ones who took to torturing their prisoners for their needed information. Huang Zi Tao and Zhang Yixing were in charge of their weapon trade, making sure a gang paid enough and that no one was stealing from them. And last but certainly not any less dangerous was Do Kyungsoo or D.O., he was the gangs mastermind, not only does he watch the gang as they go on their missions but he is said to be able to hack into even the hardest of protected files.
The gang although rumored to have significant others, had never been seen with said partner, thus making things hard for minor gangs to find a weakness.
Exo’s sub-gang was the infamous Red Velvet, named after their skill in how smooth their missions were completed. Exo also had many alliances with other fairly large gangs such as Super Junior, Shinee, F(x), SNSD and TVXQ. This superb alliance is known as SM-Town.
Red Velvet was a fairly new subunit to Exo consisting of only five members. Although the subunit was very new it was said that they had been training under SM-Town since they were able to walk. They are essentially known as Exo’s little sisters. The gang consisting of five beauties were highly skilled assassins. The sub-gang is lead by the oldest member,Bae Ju Hyun, Irene. To the civilians Irene was a true beauty, but many say she’s the most dangerous. With her intense gaze and seductive glances, she lures her targets in and once they are captured by her being, she’ll strike. Kang Seul Gi, Seulgi, was the definition of grace. Her reflexes sharp and controlled definitely lives up expectations and then some. Son Seung Won, Wendy, was the only member who was raised on foreign land. Growing up abroad allowed the group to gain much knowledge of how potential enemies could be ruling. Wendy, with her intense knowledge about the gangs in the America’s has helped their leaders greatly. She not only gave then insight how their rule but also some weaknesses she happened to come across. Park Soo Young, Joy, was the gangs’ hoaxer. While she specializes in luring in the old men and then killing them much like Irene, she chooses to work silently thus not much information can be found on her. She is said to have beauty that can rival her leader though many don’t know exactly what she looks like. The secrecy though was nothing compared to how their youngest member is portrayed. Many would even go so far as to say that she was just a rumor conjured up by the gang to create a sense of mystery and fear to those that dare challenge them. Not much is known about the fifth member besides her age and ‘name’. She was only known as Yeri and that she was the youngest of the entire subgang. It is rumored that she could even fool other gang leaders into believing her to just be an innocent face though no one was ever able to prove that.
These five members made up EXO’s central line of authority. Besides the 12 leaders, they were essentially the ones in charge. Any missions involving disguise and seduction were ordered and conducted by these sole 5 women.
The alliance SM-Town ultimately came from a single gang that ran a rather large empire in South Korea. The gangs leader Lee Soo Man had then decided to split his empire into multiple sub-gangs as a final wish so that the empire would still stand strong, thus creating SM-Town. The alliance essentially was one empire with different units focusing on one specific area. The empire that was left behind by Lee Soo Man has, since his passing, been thriving and becoming more powerful each day that passes by.
Though Seoul is essentially ran by EXO, there are also multiple other gangs that rule other provinces in South Korea. Some of which include 2ne1Bang, Bangtan Sonyeondan, and SEVENTEEN. Though these gangs are separate and also have a reputation, they all choose to be civil with one another.

Suho POV
I was in my office looking over some files that Kyungsoo had managed to find on the smaller gangs that wanted to purchase guns from us. Xiumin was out with Lu Han checking up on our warehouses so I was stuck doing all the paperwork by myself. While scanning over a new gangs profile I saw that they had connections to a well known gang called ‘Madhatters’, stupid name if you ask me but whatever.
Wanting to know more about the gang I go to find Kyungsoo. Standing up and stretching my limbs and hearing those pops are always so satisfying, maybe not as much as screams but close enough. Grabbing the file of the small gang I leave the office and walk downstairs.
Passing by the living room, I come across a pretty ordinary site. The beagle-line plus Tao leaning over a sleeping Kris giggling while holding a black marker. Deciding to make my presence known I make my way over.
“Kids make sure he doesn’t have his knife on him when he wakes up or else I’m going to have to buy you four your caskets” and as I expected they all jumped, shocked by my presence.
“H-hyung when did you get here?! We weren’t drawing on Kris-hyungs face or anything, right guys?” the oldest of the bunch, Baekhyun stated.
Raising an amused brow, I watch as they all nodded their heads in sync. Hearing movement on the couch they all slowly turned around and to their horror see Kris waking up. Fearing for their lives they all but sprinted out the room. Chuckling in amusement I make my way over to a now awoken Kris staring at where the kids just left.
Hearing my chuckling, he turned to stare at me wondering why I was laughing. Realization soon crossed his face.
“They did it again didn’t they?”
“What makes you think that babe?”
Sighing in exasperation, “I don’t maybe because the kids ran away as soon as I woke up?”
Making my way over, I sit down near his chest and run my fingers through his hair. “Don’t go too hard on them, let them be kids for awhile before they have to get back to work.”
“Whatever you say eomma, you spoil the kids too much.” he retorted. I didn’t have a response to that because it was true so I just let him lean into my touch. After a few minutes I suddenly remembered that I had to find Kyungsoo, “Have you seen Kyungsoo around I have something I need him to do.”
Hearing a grunt I took that as a no so I got up to go find him myself. What I didn’t expect though was to be grabbed by the wrist and then suddenly finding myself between Kris and the back of the couch. Yelping in surprise I tried to escape. Seeing as it was useless as I was trapped in Kris’ arms I stopped struggling.
“Ya! Why’d you do that for?” I said while hitting him in the shoulder.
“I’m still tired and you’ve been stuck in your office for a few hours already so let’s take a nap.”
Sighing, “We can take a nap after I find Kyungsoo.”
“Why do you need to find him so bad?” Kris cracked his eyes open.
“I wanna see what he knows about the gang ‘Madhatters’.”
“Madhatters, isn’t that the gang where we killed some of their men that we found were undercover?”
“Yeah, it seems that they’re making more alliances. I found a small gang that’s under their control so I wanted to see if we should be worried or not.”
Third Person POV
Before Kris could respond, there was a crash and yelling in the next room over. Suho looked back at Kris and Kris knowing fully well what that look meant sighed and let his boyfriend go. Smiling in thanks, Suho gave Kris a peck and went off to check on the ruckus.
Stopping at the doorway, Suho suddenly turned around and said to his boyfriend, “You might wanna go wash up before the marker stains.” Narrowly avoiding a thrown pillow he finally left the room all the while laughing at his boyfriends antics.
What Suho walked into was not something he expected but also not out of the ordinary. The bunch that ran off earlier somehow managed to convince Yixing into a game of twister. The horrid game was a suggestion from Jongin and Sehun to make sure that all the leaders stay in their best shape.
Yixing who was convinced to play with the bunch seemed to be quite enjoying himself in the mess of tangled limbs. Although quite often he says that he plays to work on his flexibility,(We all know that's a lie, I mean have you seen his body rolls?!) everybody knew he did it as an excuse to be able to touch people's butts. Though no one ever gets surprised anymore when they feel a hand of their butt.
Suho POV
At the moment Baekhyun seemed to be inches away from completing a split. Chanyeol and Jongdae were both so tangled up with each other that the only way to tell whose limbs were whose was the lengths of said limbs. Yixing on the other hand seemed to be quiet comfortable with his back bend. Taotao was a completely different story, he was so twisted up that I think we might’ve had to go to the hospital if he’d been anyone else.
“Ummmm, guys? Need some help there? Wait don’t answer that, what was that crash?” Suho asked.
“Ahhhh that, well ummm you see hyung I was going to lose my balance and I sorta maybe….Brokeyourvasethatyoujustboughtyesterday!”
Baekhyun barely managed to rush those words out before he bowed his head awaiting punishment. The other four also looked scared.
It was a tense few minutes before the sound of chuckling reached the group of four ears.
“Hahahahahahahahaha! That ol’thing? I just bought it because the ajumma was nice!”, I took amusement in their faces. As soon as I said that it wasn’t of any value, you could’ve assumed that a wrecking ball came through the house with how fast they’d all fallen. Chuckling still I went on to what my mission was.
“Have any of you guys seen Kyungsoo?”, they all shook their heads.
“He might be in the black-room Junmyeon-ge” the youngest suggested.
“Thank you Taotao.”
Leaving the dining room I start making my way to finally deliver Kyungsoo’s newest assignment. Stopping at the doorway I turn to remind the kids to clean up the broken glass.
“Kid’s remember to clean up all that glass.”
“Yes eomma” they chorused. Rolling my eyes at the childish insult i make my way down the hallway and up the stairs. Arriving at the third floor where most of our technological equipment is at, I make my way down the hall till I arrive at a black door. I knocked and without waiting for a response I walked in. Walking in I see that Jongin, Sehun, and Kyungsoo seem to be having a video call meeting with Red Velvet. Hearing me walk in they all went to face where I was. Seeing as it was on Red Velvet on call I decided that I could just say what I needed without any worry about it getting out.
“Kyungsoo, when you’re done with your meeting I need you to gather information for me about Madhatters please. Continue on.” Turning to leave I moved to grab the handle only to stop when a voice reached my ears.
“Wait! Oppa did you say Madhatters? As is the gang that’s controlling those smaller gangs?” Irene asked.
“Yeah, that’s them.” Turning to face the girls on the screen I see them fidgeting. “What about it?”
It was Wendy that answered, “Well it’s just that they contacted us through a lesser known gang. We knew it was them because we did some research ourselves but they said that they want a meeting with EXO so that you guys can ‘cut off the loose ties’ according to them, whatever that means. It seemed that they knew the best way to get to you guys was through the little sisters.”
“When was this?”
“We got the message about two weeks ago but we were on another mission, sorry oppa.”, Yeri apologized, ever the sweetest she is.
“What are we gonna do hyung?” Sehun asked.
Switching my focus from the girls to EXO’s maknae, “ Well, we’re gonna need to find out all we can about the gang and then I’ll talk to Kris about what we should do. Kyungsoo can you get to that right away?” At Jongin’s nod I say proceed to say my goodbyes to the girls and guys and leave the room.

Call Boy Taeil (Taeil x Reader)
Rating: M
(A/N) Ayyyy what is up my dudeS??? I’m back with another installment to the NCT Call Boy Series!!! This time, I’m back with my number two main man, Taeil!! Listen, I think our old man needs more love and more smut literature because I crave that damn shit like a cocaine addict with crack lmao Anyway, hope you enjoy this one!!!!
Tumblr media
You’re thumb stopped on the green call button, body shaking as you willed yourself to just press it. Part of you thought it was a good idea, the other half screamed for you to forget about it all entirely and just cry in your bed alone again. It had been a few weeks since your long time boyfriend of over three years broke up with you. But that wasn’t even the worst part, he broke up with you, even though you should have broken up with him. You had caught him cheating a month or so ago, heart crushed into the dirt when you saw the way he moaned and bit his lip in ecstasy, while some unknown girl did things to him only you thought you could. When you told him what you saw, he had looked like a man staring death in the face, tears spilling down his cheeks as he explained that it was because he was drunk and didn’t realize how much he had drank, that he would never think about doing it ever again. Because he loved you more than anything.
But it happened again, then again, and again, until finally, having realized you weren’t worth much to him anymore, he dropped you completely. He broke up with you in the nastiest way possible, saying that he fucked all those girls because he couldn’t stand the thought of banging you again.
He left you in a crumpled heap of tears in your own apartment, which smelled like him, alone to wallow in your self pity and sadness. That had been over two weeks ago, and the tears had faded, leaving only anger and bitterness. You weren’t low enough to get back at him, no, at this point he wasn’t even worth your time, let alone another thought. Your body craved for touch though, to be loved in a way that you realized your boyfriend had never actually had. It was a bad idea. But you were so, so desperate as you lay in a quivering mess on the hotel bed, heart aching as you finally pressed the call button. You read the hastily scrawled number of the sticky note you had written on, eyes tracing the name still branded on the backs of your eyelids when you looked away: Taeil. You thought no one would pick up, the dial tone seemed to last for hours, but eventually a calm voice answered the phone, “Hello?” “H-Hello,” you managed through your trembling lips, fingers tightening on bed spread. “I’d like to make an order.” You did as the advertisement in the mature magazine had instructed, feeling silly and stupid as those words struggled to escape your mouth. “And who is it you wish to deliver?,” the unknown voice asked, emotionless and businesslike. You shakily exhaled the name, “T-Taeil, please.” There was no doing back now, you’d just either dug your own grave or gave yourself the best early birthday present of your life. “Ah, you’re lucky he’s free tonight and not very busy,” the voice sighed, “And the address, ma'am?” You gave the name of the hotel you were staying at, and even your room number, placing all cards down on the table as you prayed that a serial killer wasn’t going to show up at your door. “Right,” the nameless voice confirmed your address with you, “It should be about an hour, is that quite alright?” “Oh, y-yes!,” you stuttered, snapping out of your horrid daydreams. “Thank you!” No, ‘your welcome’, only the rhythmic beeping of your phone as the voice hung up without a word, leaving you once again in silence. The only other sound in the room, was the pattering of rain drops down the big glass window of the hotel room. Maybe he would get lost and you could just spend the night in this nice hotel room to try and forget your troubles. You closed your eyes for a moment, letting the rain lull you into a trance, your eyes snapping open as you felt the weight of your phone still in your hand. You sat up quickly, pressing a hand to your mouth as you read the list of recent calls and saw the unknown number at the very top. You had just called for a call boy. You had just called for a call boy. You shrieked and threw your phone against the mattress, flailing as you slammed your head into a pillow, burying your face as far in as it would go before releasing a blood curdling scream. You can’t believe you did that, and for what? A good fuck because you haven’t had one in weeks? You literally couldn’t believe what a sad sight you must have looked at that moment. You definitely were not dressed like a (hopefully) hot guy was about to show up at your hotel room and bang you. You sat up, hair disheveled and lips pouting as you caught sight of your appearance in a mirror. You wore a baggy sweater to fight the biting cold of winter, a semi-cute skirt with black tights that might have passed for presentable, had you not topped off the look with your worn white high tops. You snorted at yourself and kicked off the shoes, throwing them somewhere in the spacious room. Even if you looked like trash, the guy was still obliged to fuck you, so long as you paid what was owed. And boy, was this guy expensive. You didn’t realize what a pretty penny he would cost you, but at this point you had little to lose, so why not go out with a bang? Literally. You knew you would kick yourself later for this, but for right now, all you knew was that you were getting increasingly aroused and bitter, a little impatient too. You weren’t sure you could wait a whole hour for this guy to show up, so you did what you could to distract yourself. You thought about maybe touching yourself, but then that would defeat the purpose of the call boy. So instead, you opted to sip some hot tea and browse social media, two things you did outrageously well. The minutes slipped by with the aid of your phone, and you nearly jumped out of your skin when you heard three short raps on the door. You first panicked, shoving your entire mug of unfinished tea into one of the trash cans, then proceeded to dump your phone on the desk as you inspected yourself once over in the mirror. In a last ditch effort, you put on chapstick and wiped underneath your eyes with a tissue to clean up your makeup, screaming internally as you walked over to the door and opened it breathlessly. Oh, fuck. No singular adjective could properly describe the god that stood in the dimply lit hallway of the hotel, his eyes opening in surprise for a split second as he gave you a once over. He had a jawline that would probably butcher you if you touched it, soft, warm brown eyes, and a sinful tongue that darted out to casually lick his bottom lip. Your body was already reacting and you had only just looked at him for a solid minute. “This should be fun,” he murmured, eyeing you like a predator. You backed up into the room as he stepped through the doorway, confused, “What?” You watched as he casually shed his coat, the movement fluid as you still recovered from the fact that his voice sounded like milk and honey. “Baby girl,” he began, popping open a few buttons on his shirt, “Anyone with a nose and a brain can tell that you’ve been thinking about a thing or two.” He barely spared you another glance, nodding down at your skirt as he undid a few more buttons, exposing his lean chest. You blushed, trying to sniff the air inconspicuously as you tugged down on your skirt, “Oh, n-no that’s not-” You stopped yourself, sighing as you decided to plop yourself on the bed, admiring the call boy without a care in the world now. “You have a name, sweetheart?,” he asked, finally meeting your eyes and catching you eyeing him with a smirk. “_______,” you murmured, feeling a flare of arousal in your stomach as you realized how wet you really were. You thought of how long it had been since someone touched you, since you’ve been kissed. You craved that now more than ever, here was a beautiful man, willing to please you so long as you paid. “Cute,” he smiled, walking over and letting his fingers run through your hair where you sat on the bed. You had to crane your neck back to look up at him, as he spoke again, “You can call me Taeil, or something else if you really wanted to. Daddy, master, doesn’t matter to me, it’s what you want, right?” He smirked down at you seeing the way your eyes widened at his suggestions. “I like Taeil,” you said, chewing on your bottom lip. He chuckled, pushing you back into the mattress as he crawled on top and caged you in with his arms, “I bet you do. Don’t be afraid to say whatever later, you might find you like having a daddy, or a master.” You squirmed beneath him as he took your chin in his hand, forcing you to look him in the eye, “Got it?” You nodded, lips parting as he leaned in, capturing your mouth in a deep kiss as your body already ached for him to press himself onto you. You wanted the satisfying weight of him on top of you, your thighs rubbing together eagerly as he kissed you like no one else. You parted your lips and he hummed in approval, causing a flare of pride to spark in your belly as he slid his tongue in. He tasted of dark chocolate, like he’d just ate an entire bag before coming here, and you didn’t mind at all. In fact, your kisses increased, tongue fighting to enter his mouth as he pulled away with a chuckle, “A little eager there, aren’t we?” A shining bridge of saliva stretched between the two of you, causing your eyes to darken. Knowing you’d probably never see him again, you might as well be honest, so you gasped, chest heaving, “You taste so good.” His soft brown eyes darkened, finally sinking down to press his chest against yours, “Oh, yeah?” He shifted until one of his knees was pressed between your thighs, causing your skirt to ride up around your hips. You bit your lip and nodded, seeing the way he smirked and nosed his way down towards your neck caused your skin to flush. Taeil pressed several wet kisses to the skin there, trailing his tongue up before he reached your ear, his breath hot and full of unadulterated desire. “Poor baby girl,” he simpered, hand moving from the bed sheets to your thigh as he squeezed it, “You want it so bad you’ll say just about anything, am I right?” You felt daring in your lust, so you grabbed the hand that was creeping along and massaging your inner thigh, pressing it to the wetness that soaked through your tights. He looked down at you in surprise for a moment before grinning as you traced a finger along his knife sharp jaw, turning his face towards you, whispering, “I don’t have to say anything.” Taeil chuckled, his free hand stroking your hair surprisingly gently as he looked down at you, “You know what, ______? I like you a lot,” he started to move his fingers against your core, already feeling how wet you were for him. “So that’s why I’m not going to fuck you as a customer, but because I really want to fuck you.” You moaned and moved your hips in accordance with his strokes, your fingers already coming up to tangle in his soft brown hair. You felt another leap of pride, thinking that it had been far too long since someone actually wanted you. This night was going to turn out far better than you had initially planned. Taeil was completely surprised to say the least, but he wasn’t showing it as he watched you squirm beneath him as he worked a hole into your tights. The moment you opened the door with your wide eyes and parted lips, he could already feel his cock twitch, wanting nothing more than to ruin you tonight. You looked like such a submissive girl though, he thought it would turn out like every other appointment, but you surprised him. You shocked him with your forwardness, your eagerness and the unashamed way you simply wanted him to fuck you senseless. You knew what you wanted and right now he certainly did too. You heard the thin fabric of your tights tear as Taeil finally managed to make a large enough hole in order to reach your core. He was pleasantly surprised to find you weren’t wearing panties, raising his eyebrows at you in question, all you could do was blush and look away. Taeil felt his heart throb for a second in his chest, but he mentally shook himself and slid the tip of his finger from bottom to the top of your slit, collecting all your essence. You shivered as he took things slow, stroking your core with slender fingers and kissing your collarbones sensually as you arched up from the bed. Your sweater untucked from your skirt and exposed your stomach, giving Taeil the opportunity to suck on the skin there as he reached for the zipper on the side of your skirt. Taeil smiled against your skin, feeling how you quivered underneath him when he slid in a single digit, marveling at just how tight you were. You probably hadn’t had a good fuck in weeks, he thought to himself pensively as he watched your pretty eyes flutter close at the pleasure. He decided then and there he was going to make your night, make you feel good and give you what you deserved. He normally didn’t let his feelings get in the way of his work, but the experienced call boy couldn’t help but want to help you. You didn’t seem like the type of girl who would call for him, or do this sort of thing, so something must have happened. Whatever was obviously troubling you, Taeil made it his goal to make you forget, to only feel and see him for tonight. You gasped his name as he added another finger, “Taeil!” The name sounded foreign on your tongue, but the two syllables tasted so good in your mouth you wanted to chant it like a mantra. “You like that, baby girl?,” he murmured against your hips where he had been nibbling. “Do you want some more?” You nodded rapidly, hair getting moussed by the bed sheets as you covered your mouth with a hand, trying to quiet your moans. The call boy grasped your wrist, pinning it down into the bed, “I don’t think so, I want to hear you tonight.” He leaned in and let his tongue drag from your collarbones to your jaw, voice dropping an octave, “I want everyone to hear how good I’m making you feel, how goddamn well I’m fucking you, okay?” Your breath caught in your throat as he slid your sweater above your head, removing your ruined tights and skirt as well as he pulled you to the edge of the bed. He stood up and unbottoned his shirt, allowing you to drink in the sight of his tan skin while your legs dangled down the sides of the mattress. He kneeled in front of you, parting your thighs with commanding hands and hooking them over his shoulders as he kissed dangerously close to your soaking heat. “You’re so wet for me right now,” he murmured with a smirk against your thigh. “That you’re practically dripping.” He emphasized his words by placing a single kiss on your lower lips, causing your thighs to jolt. Taeil held onto your hips fast, pressing you down into the mattress as he gave you one last smirk before he slowly dragged his tongue from bottom to top. You grabbed the bed sheets in a death grip, head thrown back as he sucked on your labia, teeth tugging at it briefly before he considered your clit. He flicked his tongue over your sensitive bundle of nerves, gentle at first, teasing you and giving you little shocks of pleasure as he began to increase the pressure. He finally attacked it with his mouth, sucking on your clit like his life depended on it. The only thing you could do was curl your toes and moan, moan his name like it was the only thing keeping you grounded to this earth. His hands on your hips slid underneath and grabbed at your ass, squeezing it so hard you’re sure there would be a bruise. This caused you to lift your hips into his mouth, where his tongue was working tirelessly against your folds to taste and drink in all of your essence. You reached down with one hand and knitted your fingers into his hair, causing him to groan into your core as he brought you closer to his mouth. You bit your lip, but couldn’t help the words that poured forth, “Fuck that’s so good, please, please, please, please.” Your felt the familiar and long missed knotting in your stomach that signaled your release was near, never having felt it this intensely before. Taeil could tell by the way you were babbling that you were close, so he toyed with you a bit, pulling away and licking his lips as he regarded your disheveled state. Your bra straps had slipped off your shoulder, there were tears in your eyes, and your ankles were locked together on his back to try and bring him closer. You looked like you’d already been fucked, but he wasn’t even close to being done with you yet. Taeil pressed a singular kiss to your clit, tongue cleaning his mouth of your juices, “Please what, baby girl?” “Please let me come,” you whimpered, seeing the way he smiled at your desperation and want of him. He didn’t reply, but tugged your hips closer to his face again, mouth already busy on your folds as he began to thrust his tongue in and out of your opening. He allowed you to buck into his mouth, hips quick as they fucked into his tongue, feeling how it wetly slid inside of your walls. His nose brushed your clit just right and soon enough, hips bucking wildly into his mouth, you came with a scream. A strange feeling bubbled up through your release, and suddenly, you were squirting and making a mess of the bed sheets. Your hips didn’t stop and neither did his tongue as he continued to fuck you with his tongue and let you ride out you high. Taeil felt himself grow hard at the raw feeling of your hips snapping into his mouth, the taste of your release and the way you looked so shocked to see that you had squirted everywhere. He felt it spill down his chin and soak the sheets, and his dick twitched knowing that he had been the one to make you release like that. Your body trembled, thighs quaking as you finally came down, face already red as you realized what had just happened. Through your lust, you felt the creeping of embarrassment tug at your throat, but Taeil didn’t seem to mind. The call boy looked ready to fuck you right then and there, what with the way he licked up your juices from his lips and savored them. He climbed on top of you, mouth already meeting yours so that you could taste yourself, “God, that was so fucking hot, baby girl.” You flushed with pride, Taeil genuinely seeming like he was impressed and turned on as he slid his shirt from his shoulders. The single lamp that barely illuminated the room made him look ethereal, the tan of his skin had a golden glow as he kissed your forehead chastely. You reached for his belt, wanting nothing more than to return the favor but he gently pushed your hands away. “Tonight’s about you,” he smiled, urging you to crawl further up the bed until you rested against the headboard. His hands never stopped on his pants, sliding them down his muscular thighs as he was left only in his briefs. You licked your lips seeing the familiar outline pressing against the fabric, still eager to please him. “I still want to though,” you murmured, looking him straight in the eye, urging him to let you touch him. The call boy yielded, allowing you to push him down into the mattress and settle between his legs. You inched his briefs down his thighs, having him lift his hips in order to remove the last piece of fabric that separated you from him. You realized your bra was still on, so you unclasped it quickly and tossed it carelessly over his head, having it land somewhere on the floor. You took in the sight of his lean body, lithe muscles that rippled underneath bronze skin and eyes that watched you intently as you decided what to do first. You wanted to cover every inch of him with your tongue, to see if his skin tasted as good as his mouth. But you also wanted to give him immediate pleasure, to take him down your throat and taste another part of him. He was like an all you could eat buffet just waiting for you to make the first move, and Taeil loved the look of thoughtfulness on your face as you contemplated your options. He spoke up, pulling you from your thoughts, a smirk on his face, “Not sure where to start?” You blushed, sliding up to press a kiss to his lips, “I just want to make you feel good.” Taeil smiled at you, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear, an uncharacteristically kind gesture for him to have with a client. His voice was gentle, “You already have, so do whatever comes to mind. I’m patient and we have all night, sweetheart.” You nodded and inched back down, choosing to pay attention to his half hard member. You leaned down and placed a kiss at the tip, hearing him sigh in relief as you took the head of his cock into your mouth, sucking lightly. He weaved his fingers through your hair, not enough to hurt, but enough to take control if he wanted to. You slowly inched down his length with your mouth, testing your limits as you adjusted to the foreign girth of him. You hummed and let your tongue run over one of the prominent veins on the underside of his member, knowing it was there only by the touch of your wet muscle. He groaned softly, “Just like that, baby girl. You’re doing so good.” He shifted his hips slightly, gagging you only for a second as he thrust up into your mouth gently. You breathed heavily through your nose as you began to pick up speed, fingers wrapping around what you couldn’t fit in your mouth. Taeil released heavenly sounding moans, a musical sound that drove the new knot in your stomach insane. You wanted him to keep making those sounds, and you wanted to be the reason why. So you allowed him to fuck up into your mouth, blinking back the natural tears that formed in the corners of your eyes as you gagged around him. Relaxing your throat the best you could, you slid down him even deeper, causing his hips to stutter and his breath to catch. You could tell he was close just by the way his fingers were tightening on your hair, and the way his eyes squeezed shut, his head rolling back at the closeness of it all. You thought he was going to come, and you would get to taste his release, but he pulled out of your mouth suddenly. The call boy’s chest was heaving as he tried to calm himself down and catch his breath. Still gasping, he sat up and pushed you back into the bed aggressively, “Were you trying to make me come in your mouth, baby girl?” He attacked you with his lips, sucking rough hickeys on your neck and nipping at your collarbones as you cried out from the pleasure pain. He didn’t allow you to answer, his lips swallowing your words and stealing your breath as he kissed you passionately. No one had ever kissed you like that before, it felt so real, so full. Taeil pulled away, his eyes dark and a smirk in place on his lips, “The only place I’ll be coming is inside of you.” You moaned at his words, already eager to finally feel him rubbing along your walls and stretching your core. Your thighs parted on their own accord as he positioned himself at your entrance, teasing the tip of his cock in and out of your folds. The call boy smiled down at you, seeing the way you looked like an absolute wreck for him, so ready and willing for him to fuck you senseless. He couldn’t remember a time ever wanting someone just as badly as they wanted him, and for some reason he welcomed the feeling. You wrapped your legs around his waist, ankles hooking together at his lower back as he began to enter you. Your arms wrapped around his neck and brought his lips to yours once again as the perfect feeling of his cock buried deep inside of you sank in. Taeil let out one of the most satisfied groans to ever reach your ears, and it turned you on immensely to know you were the sole purpose of it. “Fuck, baby girl,” he moaned, rocking into you slowly to feel your slickness on his cock. You gasped, crying out at the way he stretched your walls perfectly, fitting inside you unlike any other cock before. Taeil gradually picked up the pace, wanting nothing more than to just fuck your brains out, he had to be patient with you, knowing that you hadn’t been with anyone for a while. You thought the complete opposite, ignoring the pain, you urged him to just let go, “Taeil please…! Just fuck me, fuck me hard!” Tears nearly spilled down your cheeks, your body craving the roughness only he could give you. You were already drunk with pleasure and he had only just begun. Hearing your words he almost thought to pay them no mind, but the desperation behind them caused his own brain to go haywire. All thoughts of carefulness and control slipped away, and only the primal desire to fuck the girl underneath him took over. It was like a switch, one moment he was calculating with his thrusts, the next he was bucking into you like a wild animal. His hips snapped deep inside of you, causing you to cry out as his skin slapped against yours painfully. Unsatisfied with the angle he was hitting you at, the call boy wordless repositioned you without missing a beat, turning you on your side and throwing one of your legs over his shoulder. He hit you much deeper now, his cock reaching so far inside of you, it felt like he was fucking your solar plexus. The bed shook furiously as he drove into you relentlessly, eyes misted with lust and desire as you clenched and unclenched around him. Your body and mind were on cloud nine, everything fuzzy and raw as you only felt the boy above you. You were ripped from your haze as Taeil spanked you harshly on the ass, his voice husky, “Is this what you wanted?” You nodded with tears falling down your cheeks, crying out as he spanked you again, “Answer me.” “Yes!,” you wailed, choking on a sob as he reached down and rubbed at your clit generously, eager to see you come. “You gonna come for me, baby girl?,” he groaned, feeling you already tightening up around him. “Come all over my cock, sweetheart, make me feel good.” And came you did, harder than you had in your entire life as a scream was ripped from your throat. Your thighs twitched madly and your eyes squeezed painfully shut, Taeil coming just minutes after you. His thrusts grew more crazed, more inhuman stopping with a groan as he shot his seed deep inside of you, “Oh, fuck.” The two of you stayed joined together like that for a few minutes, Taeil leaning down to kiss your lips tirelessly as he attempted to soothe the angry red marks on your ass he had left with his hand. He slid out of you gingerly, lazily cleaning himself on his briefs that lay beside him on the bed and tossing them over his shoulder. He collapsed down next to you, where tear trails were still evident on your cheeks, his eyes concerned, “I didn’t hurt you did I?” “No!,” you quickly answered, turning toward him as he drew you into his arms. You bit your lip and blushed as you struggled to meet his gaze, “Honestly, everything was perfect and I really needed that.” You pecked his lips and pulled away, noting with a smile the way he chased your lips, “All of it.” The call boy looked relieved, his personality suddenly gentler as he kissed your forehead, “I’m glad, because for a moment I wasn’t thinking and-” You silenced him with another kiss, pulling barely enough away for your lips to move, “Like I said, I needed all of it.” He smiled softly against your mouth, pulling away so that he could look at you with a face of confusion, “I have a question though, feel free to not answer. No offense, but you just don’t seem like the type of girl who’s into this kind of thing. Why then? What happened?” Your heart sank, suddenly remembering it all, having truly forgotten everything for the time you had been with Taeil. You nuzzled deep into his chest, taking in the warm scent of his skin, “My boyfriend broke up with me because I caught him cheating one too many times. I was coward and never stood up to him, never let him know that what he did was wrong-,” your voice broke, tears spilling anew. “That it hurt me.” Taeil held you and listened, anger and sadness flaring up inside of him. He wanted to say that this entire session was a mess because he kept letting his curiosity and emotions interfere, since he was known as a call boy who was notorious for having zero attachment during work. But you had triggered something inside of him that he had buried deep down ever since he had joined the sex industry. It had been too long since he just laid with someone like this, to just feel each other and hold one another in a nonsexual manner. You were this broken girl in his arms who he couldn’t help but find himself intrigued by and incredibly attracted to, hurt as you were, and he wanted to fix you. He wanted to take you out to his favorite coffee shop, listen to his favorite bands with you, hold hands and watch movies together, lay in bed and just talk about how your day had been. “_______,” he murmured, brushing the hair from your face and tilting your chin up to look at him. You met his eyes through your blurred vision, seeing something so tender in his gaze that your heart lurched and yearned for him to stay with you, to not leave for the night. Your wanted to hold him, and for him to wrap you up inside his arms, to hide you from the world. “I know how much it can hurt,” he started, kissing a salty tear that rolled down your cheek. “But I also know that the only way to heal from something like that is to surround yourself with a better kind of love, to put yourself first, to find what makes you happy.” His words really struck a chord in your heart, surprised that such kind words could spill from a sex worker’s lips. Taeil looked so comforting in that moment, the warmth of his body pressed against your own was a feeling you could get used to. Your voice was tentative, quavering as you proposed something perhaps taboo to him, “Will you stay with me, just for tonight?” The call boy leaned in and captured your lips, pulling away and resting his forehead against yours, “I’ll stay for the night.” Taeil didn’t stop though, taking a chance, a leap of faith, he drew you closer to him, “And I’d like to stay for the next, and the next, and the next-” You felt euphoric when you cut him off with another kiss, unable to help yourself as you let a small laugh leave your lips, tears of relief spilling down your cheeks. You don’t remember much after that, only the warm embrace of Taeil’s arms and the way he hummed softly until you were lulled to sleep. You do remember though, waking up the next morning to find him still next to you, his arm thrown over your stomach as he pulled you close to his slide in his sleep. You remember clearly the peaceful look on his sleeping face. You remember it every time you wake up next to him in your bed, every morning the start of a new day spent with him. A new day to heal, to grow, and fall deeper in love with the call boy, now turned boyfriend, you had met on a whim.

halfblood joonie
guess what my school computer has a blue screen lol what is this i dont understand what’s going on
not gonna lie i would rather be updating my nct blog because those are written scenarios and i prefer writing that way because i feel like it actually shows my ability but i owe it to you guys to get something out there
my mark lee thing can wait yikes :((
anyway demigod joonie was the most requested?? and i was like
THE SCREEN CHANGED
anyway i was gonna do like birth order but here we are now, doing namjoon
which is fine because i love namjoon
okay so if you guys couldn’t guess
namjoon is the son of athena
how could he not be??
the stereotype was always like blond hair and gray eyes but nah fam me and namjoon both don’t fit that stereotype and we are athena kids
but in this au namjoon is gonna have that off blond hair like there was that one photoshoot and there is a specific image in mind but it’s like sandy blond and it’s always messy because he constantly runs his hands through his hair when he’s thinking so always a mess but a nice mess because cutie
and he wears the big wire rimmed glasses that aren’t perfectly circular but almost like a bowl shape kind of thing?? like rounded at the bottom but then straight at the top or only a little bent is this making sense i bet it isn’t lol
he’s that kid that always wears the camp half blood tee with skinny jeans and some obscure accessory like idk a scarf or hat
and the aphrodite kids sit there and constantly roast him for his fashion sense but jin always scolds them and says that namjoon is a pure cutie bean who must be protected…
okay but backstory time because hell yah i love backstories
namjoon’s dad was a professor at a local college and he was a genius so it was no suprise that athena was attracted to him
unlike jin’s situation, athena and namjoon dad’s romance was a fleeting thing, and it only lasted but a few months
both of them were too proud and too headstrong to admit actual feelings or that they needed each other
but i personally believe that you don’t just have one true love, you love a lot of people in your life and it’s okay to love and be loved more than once and the mentality that you should save love for the true one actually pisses me off not gonna lie to you
and like they were in love and maybe it wasn’t the strongest love and maybe it wasn’t the truest love but it was still love regardless
athena kids are thought of like that’s how the athena kids happen i remember because percy was like do you have a belly button??
so athena was like you’re different than all my previous lovers and i think our child should be different too and that explains why namjoon naturally has black hair and brown eyes, not the usual blond and gray thing going on
when athena and his dad split up, things were kinda not amazing
his dad didn’t want to think about the relationship and about athena and so he just kind of chose to selectively forget about it
and so he doesn’t tell namjoon that he is a half blood
he tells namjoon that his mom and him were a college thing and that she didn’t want to deal with a child because she needed to finish her schooling whereas namjoon’s father was graduating
namjoon never felt a bitterness towards his birth mom but he always had the want to meet her one day and just have a conversation with her and have some sort of relationship with her…
his dad got married when namjoon was fairly young, in the third grade, and his stepmom and dad had three kids so namjoon has a bunch of half siblings
he really loves his family though, like he was extremely close to them especially his brother who’s the middle child out of the three half siblings
namjoon never felt out of place with them but there was always that longing to meet his mother that never went away
and guess what namjoon gets that chance
by age ten namjoon has already attracted numerous monsters, despite his dad’s efforts to mask his scent by marrying someone else and spraying febreeze in the house every two seconds
namjoon is already an extremely gifted and powerful demigod, already exhibiting powers that mimic something like telekinesis, and monsters have started to take notice
but namjoon, our clumsy bean child namjoon, always has a way of avoiding any harm
it’s because athena has her eye on him constantly and she’s always doing her best to make sure he’s safe
so like one day for instance, he’s walking home from the school bus and this monster comes at him and athena was posing as mom waiting for her kid or something and as soon as namjoon looked away she pulverized that monster into dust
but she seriously underestimates her child
because at age eleven namjoon is like boy genius and he notices the same lady always around and he’s like yikes creeper alert maybe??
so one day instead of you know, telling his dad, he confronts her down at the dollar store where he’s going to by his siblings some candy with his allowance money
idk the dollar store is within walking distance from my dads so this makes a lot of sense to me like this a very valid and relevant point in my mind okay so um like
anyway she senses another monster attack so she’s posing as a cashier and namjoon just kinda heads over to her counter and slams his five dollar bill on the table and he’s like
“we have the same eyes i think”
“also i see you around all the time”
and he just blinks up at her with big inquisitive eyes and she’s like oh sh-
and she’s like well i cannot just tell this kid that i’m his mom but i can at least get him to safety right??
and she’s like i gotta talk about this demigod thing but
suddenly a horde of monsters appear from the aisles and athena is like there is no time and so she uses her goddess powers to transport them to the boundaries of camp half blood
and she’s like look i know you’re probably scared and confused and worried but you need to go past this boundary here and you’ll find help i promise, but i need to get going, i’m not allowed to be this attached to you-
and she ushers namjoon past the border but then she’s gone and namjoon is like what the duck is this about
he doesn’t know if he should run back out and chase after her or if he should move forward and explore but maybe he should cry? always a valid option??
he just stands there dumbly and he feels like maybe he will cry because he doesn’t understand what’s going on but he wants to be home with his dad, not standing in the middle of god(s) only know where
but alas his saving grace arrives
it’s you
you’re the saving grace
you’re also a younger demigod and you’re in the hermes cabin currently because you haven’t been claimed and you’re just kind of wandering around camp because you still are a little !! about this whole demigod thing and you need some time to adjust
but you see namjoon standing there and you’re like !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you run over and stare at him for a few seconds and you then grab his hand and you’re like we gotta find chiron
“you mean the centaur from greek mythology”
and you smile and nod excitedly “well duh, you are at camp half blood”
“what now”
“that place where all the kids if the greek gods and goddesses chill to escape the monsters in the mortal world? seriously how did you get here if you don’t know what this is”
so namjoon tells you his story and you’re holding his hand because small kids and you’re like oh i see i see okay i got it
and then you take him to see chiron and you’re like hello this is a new camper his name is joonie
and namjoon is like actually- but chiron is so busy welcoming him and all that he never really gets to say his official name (is that the right word probably not lol) isn’t joonie but whatever
anyway you stay by namjoon’s side while he gets the explanation of the whole demigod thing
and you’re the one who takes him to the hermes cabin and you’re like yes you can have your bed under my bed because we are basically best friends now!! and ofc namjoon agrees
he’s the kid who sits up really fast and bangs his head on the bunk above him
i actually fell off the top bunk once but that is another story
you and namjoon become bros and all the older demigods think it’s so adorable how you two always waddle around camp together and challenge everyone to duels and riddles and the likes
but then namjoon gets claimed
oh yes namjoon gets claimed one day when you two are sparring and it’s been a while now since he’s arrived at camp and you know what being claimed means
it means that namjoon isn’t gonna be your bunk mate anymore and it means that he’ll be at a new cabin with new siblings and he’ll probably end up forgetting about you or something
and your small brain is not about to let that happen no siree so you fail to mention the glowing emblem above namjoon’s head
you think that it would like go away eventually but it’s been thirty minutes now since it first appeared so um yikes a daisy it probably won’t go away anytime soon but you are not about to lose namjoon
while you’re sitting there debating what to do, one of the athena kids (is it annabeth chase, my queen, my hero, my everything)
no another athena kid comes over and they’re like duDE UM!!
and you’re like b i t c h do you wanna throw down
and namjoon is like wait what’s going on what’s happening am i dying or something
and the athena kid is like no, well yes, we are all technically dying, but i mean you’re our new sibling
“our”
“the athena cabin, i’m sorry”
and namjoon’s eyes light up and he’s so excited and you’re like who am i to take this happiness from him
you don’t walk with him to meet up with chiron or anything, you go sulk in the hermes cabin tbh and kick his bunk and then whine when it hurts your foot
but guess what guys
guess what
guess who comes back later
you right
it’s namjoon
he waves to you and you’re like !!
“i missed you already, you wanna keep sparing. i already got my new bunk set up and all. it’s not as fun around here without you”
and then you run into his arms but he is not expecting that and he tries to catch you but that doesn’t really go so hot and he ends up toppling backwards with you crashing down on top of him
based on true events in case you’re wondering
you knew from that day on that you and najoon were inseparable
fast forward many years so you are out of the awkward small child phase which isn’t awkward really because it isn’t middle school yet
you got claimed by your godly parent so neither you or namjoon are in the hermes cabin anymore!!
but you still are thick as thieves get it lol because hermes cabin-
okay anyway
i dont wanna be generic with all of these so guess what
in media res my dudes, on media res
behold you and namjoon are on a quest and guess who else is there it;s hoseok and yoongi and you guys are having a blast because yoongi nearly managed to become the captive bride of the god of the west wind
hoseok kidnapped a dog and he keeps the thing in his shirt when you guys are setting up camp for the night so he won’t be cold
namjoon almost became a gang lord down in southern new york
you had to fight off rampant cereal gods when the others were going to take a group bathroom break
you and namjoon are sharing a sleeping back
wait what
hoseok somehow managed to burn his and yoongi was like you can’t sleep with me you freak, im still mad you love that dog more than me anyhow and hoseok was all excuse me are you trash talking our child
they were so busy bickering and whining and namjoon, the designated squad leader, was not having it, and so he’s like hoseok here just take mine okay
and then you were like but joonie what about you
and hoseok was all like share
namjoon looked to yoongi hopelessly and yoongi just flipped him off
“excuse me, how;s jungkook gonna feel when he knows you’re trying to win me over”
and you kinda “well i mean i guess we can share”
and hoseok is like “wow what are the odds you’re the only person with the huge two person sleeping bag haha #crazy”
yes he said the word hashtag
but namjoon is all stamerry and blushy and it’s so funny because the super composed, super calculating, super strategic son of athena is at a loss for words and it’s
#crazy
and yoongi is like wow i guess hoseok will take the first watch then
and hoseok is like wow that’s so sweet of you for volunteering-
yoongi smirks and curls up in his sleeping bag and yawns and slips off into dreamland and hoseok is pouting but he starts patrol duty with his puppy safely poking his head out the top of his shirt
and namjoon kinda gives you this look and you shrug “it’s not any different than that time we had to share a bunk when connor and broke the one and they needed extra room you know?”
except it is very different because namjoon is in l o v e with you and he doesn’t want to share a sleeping bag because he might do something weird like try to hold your hand or sleep talk about you and that would not be a good time
but he curls up in the sleeping bag and he motions for you to join and you’re like okay chill nice not like i like namjoon or anything haha
you snuggle up beside him and you’re like are two person sleeping bags even a real thing
they are confirmed
you guys refuse to speak and you can hear hoseok giggling and that makes things more awkward tbh but it’s okay because he’s warm
and so your put your feet on his legs and even through the socks he can feel your cold feet and now the two of you are laughing
but then yoongi sits up and threatens to murder you both in cold blood
so you end up zipping it and going to bed
hoseok wakes namjoon up an hour or two later because switch shift and he’s sleepy
namjoon groggily wakes up and he goes to sit up but??
is that your head on his chest??
why yes it is??
hoseok starts to squeal and namjoon glares but hoseok is
you know that spongebob meme with squidward and crabby patties
that’s hoseok @ namjoon
“you like them don’t you namjoon”
and namjoon was like hoe i thought that was obvious please
and hoseok was like um idk if they know dude
and najoon just groans and stands up and waves hoseok off and goes to stand guard
he doesn’t like the whole crush thing because his entire life as a child of athena you know, he’s used to approaching everything as a problem that has a solution
something that he can work through and tackle if he takes the right steps
everything is a process and with the smart logical choices, he can accomplish anything
but this is different because suddenly his head isn’t in charge and no matter how hard he tries to examine the situation logically, you can’t think like that, not when you’re in love with someone all rules go out the window and namjoon is like wth is this i am not a fan can this not be a thing
he overanalyzes every single scenario and one second he’s determined that you must be in love with him but one second later, he thinks you must hate him or something and that the two of you will never work out and it’s such a vicious cycle
he just wishes he would have some answers-
and then this voice pops up in his head and it’s very familiar and namjoon is like i know who this is but also at the same time i have no idea whatsoever
and then it hits him- the mysterious lady from his childhood, the one who got him to camp and he’s ! because he had totally forgotten about her till now
and the voice is like “you really forgot about your own mother”
and namjoon is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! because mom since when was that a thing
but it makes sense and suddenly everything starts to click and namjoon is like wow your local son of athena couldn’t figure that one out, amazing
but she’s like look kid im sorry that i havent been around, things are complicated, dont be mad
and namjoon is like im not dont sweat it
athena just tsks like thats because you never let your emotions lead
“but it’s okay to let them take over sometimes you know”
you know what she’s implying and the conversation doesn’t last much after that
and namjoon is like right i should maybe confess maybe ill do that when i get back home or something---
but suddenly he’s taken aback because there’s this clanking and rattling and all of th sudden there are these skeletons rising from the earth and namjoon is like just my luck
he draws his sword and starts yelling for the rest of you to wake up and hoseok is first up and he’s racing to get yoongi awake and meanwhile namjoon is battling off these monsters
he uses those telekinesis powers i mentioned to hurl boulders and other projectiles at them while using his long sword to fend off others but they keep multiplying
hoseok comes in with his double daggers and he’s slicing and diving and jabbing
and yoongi has his scythe and he’s totally wrecking these monsters and smashing them to dust
you’re nowhere to be found though and namjoon turns his head for a split second and that’s his mistake
he doesn’t feel the arrow pierce his shoulder, not initially, but he feels the searing pain as yoongi yanks it from his flesh later
he stumbles and trips forward and he’s clutching his shoulder and hoseok is shrieking and yoongi is cursing
namjoon feels like he’s slipping from reality and he doesn’t know what’s happening save that the world is spinning before his eyes
but then your cry snaps him back from his daze and he watches you stumble towards him
yoongi and hoseok fight off the rest of the monsters as you kneel beside namjoon, cradling his head in your lip
namjoon is too shocked to cry but then he sees the tears streaming down your face and he suddenly feels overwhelmed
yoongi and hoseok run over when the coast is clear and yoongi is the one who pulls the arrow out because hoseok is shaking too badly to do so
“i thought i heard something and so i woke up and went to check it out, but clearly i wasnt right and now you’re going to die because of me namjoon, oh gods, you can’t die!!”
and youre sobbing and hoseok is like you need to calm down so i can treat this thing and namjoon is slipping from consciousness and you’re holding his hands tightly between your own
yoongi is praying hard while hoseok does his best to clot the blood flow and go through his bag in search of ambrosia and nectar
namjoon’s eyes close and his lips part and you’re crying harder now because this it, this is the last time you’re going to see namjoon
“i love you, i love you more than life itself namjoon, and im not going to let you die, do you hear me!?”
hoseok pulls out the thermos of nectar and he hands it to you
for those who dont know, nectar is like the healing thing for demigods and it’s not guaranteed life saver, it works hella good
anyway, you hold the thermos to namjoon’s lips and do your best to make sure he drinks some of it
hoseok assures you that namjoon is gonna make it, upon further examination, the wound isn’t deep and it missed any vital nerves or organs
still you can’t help but cry
you hold namjoon in your arms the entire night and none of you guys sleep because you’re so scared??
namjoon does wake up, and he’s fine… he’s just sore the next morning
he first asks about you though if you’re okay and then he looks up and finds you staring down at him and he’s o h
you smile down at him “i swear to god, dont you ever pull that on me again”
“i wasnt trying to die”
omg wth my namjoon ones are always the longest, namjoon, yoongi and jungkook
anyway you mouth “i know” and then stroke the hair from his eyes
hoseok and yoongi watch on but they don;t interfere and they dont get nosy, they jsut let you guys have your moment
it’s like a mutual understanding after that
like the scare makes you realize that yes, you love namjoon, more than a friend
and yes, namjoon loves you too, more than anything in the world
and hoseok and yoongi realize that they’re third and fourth wheeling on the quest and it’s awkward
because once namjoon starts feeling better, it’s like a switch was turned on and now he’s trying to impress you with the psychology of attraction and holding hands and love and it’s a hot mess
and he’s vowing to protect you and you’re like honey i gotta protect you…
yoongi and hoseok regret their life choices
but they think it’s cute and when you guys all return home safely (with the dog in tow), everyone starts handing over drachmas and dollars because their was a camp wide bet on if you guys would get together on your quest

Volleyball!NCT U + 127
So I decided to combine these as just one unit would not be enough and I can’t picture much of Dream to be on a volleyball team to be honest. Like they are so young and scrawny, I can’t see the majority of them being volleyball players. I originally wrote this before 127’s comeback so rip me cause now I have to fit Johnny here.
Outsides: The big guns. These boys are all about the offense. The go-to attackers ready for any set, even off of a 1-point pass. Get the most sets and make the most errors, but their kills make up for any points lost
Lee Taeyong
So I see Taeyong as a strong, responsible young man. He has that dancing build which allows him to get up and hammer balls down. Definition of “Big Gun” on the team. He would be a very intelligient outside hitter. Probably the smartest hitter on the team; he’ll mix up shots accordingly in order to catch the team on their heels. He is also a strong passer, as are the rest of the outsides for the NCT Volleyball Club (NCTVC). When he serves, he would serve a strong jump top-spin. He would also love the pipe set from the back row to really help his hitting percentage! He believes he has a huge responsibility for the team as the team captain (Haechan calls him the team mom, but Tae doesn’t approve of that nickname). That responsibility also transcends into his work ethic. He expects to win and expects his teammates to reciprocate that same desire. During practices, he’ll definitely want to practice as if every drill and scrimmage was played like a real game. When the others slack off, he’ll quickly remind them what they are here for. He really just wants what is best for the team and wants them to do well together.
Tumblr media
Jung Yoonoh (Jaehyun)
Jaehyun would also be an outside hitter. He’d probably fall under the radar during the game, but that wouldn’t affect his rate of play. He is probably the most efficient outside for the team and swings for the deep corners. Would really like hitting the sharp cross court shot. When faced with a block, if he isn’t hitting above them, he is tooling them for a point. He puts up a pretty solid block himself and can shut down the opposing attack, although it doesn’t happen too often despite his strong hands. Speaking of pretty, he’s like the looker of the team and often gets the team sponsorships with his good looks. He’d probably become a model for like athletic clothes to be honest. Makes the crowd’s heart flutter every time he comes out for the starting line-up. He always starts blushing when the cheers go insane when we walks out. Anyways, as he goes into the back row, he would serve a jump float with a lot of heat. Like I mentioned earlier, he would also be a fantastic passer. His time in the back row is mostly focused on defense instead of offense like Taeyong. Strikes me as someone to watch a lot of film, probably with Libero!Mark.
Tumblr media
Nakamoto Yuta
Yuta would be the fiesty outside, ready to go hard all the time. He’d be a lot of fun on and off the court, bringing a lot of energy to the team. He’d tend to just swing away all the time in search of that perfect kill only really using his off-speed shots when his teammates tell him that shot is open. He wouldn’t really do it on his own. His lack of experience makes him sit on the bench most of the time, but when he is on the court, he is able to terminate. He’s a fairly decent passer but looks on to Taeyong and Jaehyun to help him adjust to defending the left side of the court - he looks up to them and wants to learn from them. His other outsides are right next to him in order to teach him more about the game during practice. When he serves, he serves a jump float so he can quickly get to his base and focus on his passing. It wouldn’t be just an easy jump float; it would have a lot of weight on it which would help keep the other team out of system. Absolutely loves being on the team and the court, his smiling shining every time he walks into the gym.
Tumblr media
Middle Blockers: Part 1 of the major defense of each team. Height and speed are needed, although height can be substituted for a mad vertical. Don’t get set often but their efficiency is through the roof.
Seo Youngho (Johnny)
A new addition to the team line-up, Johnny quickly became a starting middle for the NCT squad. His height and his strength far outweighed that of the other middles. He gained a lot of fame before he joined the team so there was a lot of excitement over him joining THE NCT. He powers balls through blocks if he doesn’t hit over them. If the set isn’t where he needs it, he will blast balls off the block and out of bounds in order to score a team for my point. When he blocks, he has strong hands that are pointed inside the court resulting in a stuff most of the time. There will be times when he will get tooled, probably off his finger tips, but he’ll take that as sign that he needs to bring his fingers down towards the court more. Blocks are literally his favorite thing. Every time he gets one, he’ll be screaming at the top of his lungs with a clenched fist in the air. He’d be allowed to serve as a middle and would serve a jump top spin serve. He has a lot of power and could be honestly be an outside, but like I said, his height is what moved him into the middle of the net. Is seen a lot with Opposite!Ten.
Tumblr media
Kim Dongyoung (Doyoung)
Doyoung would be the other starting middle. He would be another player who would swing for deep corners. The 3 set would be his favorite, he’d split the block finding the perfect spot to swing for. As for blocking, Doyoung would ask Johnny for help being efficient. He moves laterally very well, but sometimes he doesn’t press his hands in as much. Sometimes, that doesn’t matter and his recovery move won’t result in a straight down stuff, but it will fly out to the edge of the court getting the point. When he goes back to serve, he would serve just a basic jump float. He doesn’t pass that well for the standards of his team, but when he’s on the court during his service run, he will put everything out there for the team. His calm and mature persona makes him one of the go to players for media presentations. He’d give people a nice impression of his team and they aren’t disappointed.
Tumblr media
Dong Sicheng (WinWin)
Little Sicheng would be the next middle for the NCT squad. He doesn’t see as much playing time as Doyoung and Johnny as he isn’t as powerful, but he does see a lot a time in the middle of the net during practice. WinWin is quite the lanky and fluid boy but I don’t see him having much power. He definitely has the speed required for the middle. When he swings, he would also try and swing for deep corners. When blocking, he can move to the pins very fast. He doesn’t get a lot of stuffs but he will definitely get a piece of it, sometimes it’s a bad thing. If he serves, I think he would just do a standing float or maybe a jump float - basically anything to just get the ball over the net. During practice, he’ll always be asking question. “Am I late on my block? How can I read that play better? Can I get tips?” Anything that would make him a better player he will try and do.

Setter: In charge of spreading around the ball, allowing the offense to be run. Need nice hands to deliver a clean ball to any area of the court. Speed is also vital as location of the first contact varies especially when the level of play increases.
Moon Taeil
Taeil, to me, is very soft and gentle. I don’t see him being too aggressive which means aye he’s a setter in my mind. Would always get his jersey dry cleaned (@mamaastro thanks bro) and he would try and get the rest of his team to do it as well but no, they don’t listen. (Who do they listen to though?) He would definitely be more of a front row setter, wanting to get up and shut down the outside attack (plus he doesn’t want to worry about his passing responsibilities when he is setting in the back row.) Strongest blocker against the outside attack. When he does go into the back row, he goes for the tough jump float. As far as passing, he doesn’t like it that much. He slowly has been getting better at defending the right back, but he prefers being in his setting spot, ready to deliver the next ball. He’d definitely be a quiet leader on the team, he keeps the team entertained and grounded.

Right Side/Opposite: Swings from behind the setter. In charge of shutting down the outside attack, which is vital since the outside gets the most sets. Does not get set often but when they do, they usually terminate.
Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul (Ten)
I see Ten as the starting right side attacker for this team. He is a little on the shorter side (okay a lot) but he still has the vertical to get up there. He is the other wall ready to face the opposing attack from the left pin. He doesn’t get many blocks, but he is one of the players that would absolutely go crazy from getting a block. Loves hitting the line shot, he loves challenging the libero making them guess what’s in and what’s out. If the outside is towering over him, more than usual, then he would tool it and hit that ball off high hands. Going into the back row, he would serve a jump top spin. It’s his favorite part of the game. Would spend time in the back row when facing a weaker opponent. He has good location on defense, but if the pass goes way out of the court, he probably won’t go for it. If not, would get replaced by other Opposite!Donghyuck. Spends a lot of time with Middle!Johnny like literally you can’t separate these two.

Lee Donghyuck (Haechan)
Haechan would be the other opposite hitter, although his main focus is defending the right back. I put him here because despite his focus in the back row, he is a hitter. He doesn’t get much time playing in the front row, but if they are absolutely destroying, he will stay in the rotation. He struggle getting over some blocks but he’ll be able to tool the block easily. He doesn’t serve as often since Ten has such a wicked serve, but he would serve a jump float. Would go all out on defense. When seeing them play, you’d see him layout for everything. When he makes an amazing save, running 15 feet out of the court, he’d wear this bright smile on his face and instantly run back to his base ready for the next attack. Definitely would love teasing his teammates. Would hide Mark’s knee pads before like every practice. He does it out of love though, he hopes that his hyungs know that despite all of the fun and jokes he plays on them, he respects and cares for all of them.

Libero: Have the best passing skill. Second part of the major defense team. Reserved as best receivers and servers. Height is not required as they don’t play at the net. Liberos do not take up substitutions and they wear an off-colored jersey. Goes into the back row for the middle.
Mark Lee
Mark’s only true position on the team is at the libero position. Most of the time, he doesn’t even pass of his platform when digging balls. During serve receive, sure but when those balls are getting hit at him at such high speeds, he just finds the right spot and tries. His reading ability would be great but actually getting the ball to his platform? That’s a different story. Pro at the shoulder pass to be honest. His location is great though! Would serve a jump float when he goes back to the service line. Watches a lot of film, probably watches the most on the team. Is honestly overworked and needs to take a break some times. Leaves the back-up libero role to Opposite!Haechan. He takes the younger one under his wing and helps him come into his role being the youngest defensive player on the team. If Mark is out, he wants the next in line to be ready at all times.

That moment when you accidentally put both your biases in the same position you play rip.
