it’s all been said before but the whole pronouns thing for some people is getting so ridiculous it’s honestly just sad
#just saw a TIF post ‘i’ve decided that in addition to he/they i am now interested in ‘he/they/she. but just as a spicy little extra#only on rare occasion for fun. but please don’t ONLY use she/her for me if you use that please switch it up from time to time!’#like girl can’t you see how meaningless this all is. it’s a consumerist hobby to you it’s a game of playing with masks for fun#it’s literally just about playing pretend and getting excited when your friends play along. it’s a bit#but actors get uncomfortable when the topic lingers on the truth for too long. they’re cool with dancing around it sometimes#but they don’t like being unmasked openly because they don’t like their true selves they like having a persona#this whole trans thing is so insanely dangerous people are straight up encouraging personality disorder type behavior#or like. when people who ‘use multiple pronoun sets’ post stuff like ‘i wish people would actually bother to switch it up sometimes#or use he or she instead of always just they :/‘ like yeah people are avoiding saying anything real because they’re afraid of upsetting you#and catching you on a bad day where that’s not right#or like. they’d prefer a consistent approach to language at the very least instead of fulfilling your ever-changing fantasies#because you can’t make up your mind because you always need more and more attention and can’t just be satisfied with yourself#literally i can remember my own experience with this thing wasn’t ‘maybe i’m actually not a girl’ (this is almost never it)#it was ‘maybe it would be fun to go she/they and put a non-binary flag in my icon and reblog all these cool posts about being trans’#’it looks like it would be a lot of fun to get in on this cool thing and be someone special and have a secret identity in real life’#it is so much fun to play pretend. and it is so damaging to act like these intrusive thoughts actually mean anything about your gender#bc when you spend too much time on the internet and start entertaining the idea of being someone else#it starts to feel weird when people irl refer to you as who you are with all relevant gendered language#dysphoria is being manufactured by overthinking about things while having ideas flow into your mind by a constant social media stream#for a whole generation of people online it is almost never an actual natural thing

hellolololo!¡! so i recently saw this video where their
s/o goes on to omegle and the other person from omegle like goes “hi ur cute” or “u have snap?” and then their boyfriend just enters the frame,, can u do that to todobakudeku separately :3
if u dont understand u can check this out 😭 https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSJdEqc7V/ tyy ❤️❤️
“ur kinda cute” on omegle
(tiktok prank)
character(s) : todoroki shouto, bakugou katsuki, midoriya izuku (bnha)
part two — part three
legend : [Y/N = your name] they/them pronouns used, quirk not mentioned
headcanon type : fluff, crack — ‘x reader’
note(s) : i love these types of requests 🤩 so i plan on making 3 parts with this (oh and don’t worry, i’ll finish the other tiktok prank series i have going on at the moment)
also, there’s no proofread on this so if there’s any typos or mistakes, sorry! i’ll be editing them in the morning
┈ ✁✃✁✃✁✃✁✃✁ ┈
todoroki shouto
okay so, the entire tiktok idea was planned— but the part where shouto came in surely wasn’t staged
so, being a curious young person— you wanted to make a tiktok, where you went on omegle just to speak to people for fun
and inside of your head, you’re kinda thinking that “this is dumb, omg im going to get flashed on there.” also while you were setting up your laptop
but you just used the appropriate tags and !! you were set off for an adventure
you set your phone aside, and you filmed most of the experience— cutting out the not so interesting encounters out of your tiktok
and then came on a dude, who had a,, unique reaction. he didn’t seem all that fishy— until he asked you for your snap (your social medias, essentially)
“you’re kinda cute, y’know. how did i not see you before?”
you shake your head, “oh no no! i appreciate your compliment, but i’m very much taken!” your mind immediately flashing back to the image of your icyhot boyfriend
“nahh you’re lying! i don’t see any dude back there”
oh,, and that was because shouto was out getting snacks 🧎 “no really dude, i appreciate it! i’m very much taken and being disloyal is out of the question!”
this dude just kept insisting and insisting, and due to the struggle— you weren’t able to hear the door knob jiggle
it seemed to be that his advances came to an end, and your lover made an entrance— a mop of red and white peaked out from the door frame
and the dude literally got scared and ended the conversation 💀 because you really weren’t lying!
you also figured that it was time to end your omegle shenanigans, and finish the tiktok— because your boyfriend was already there “hi love, who were you talking to?”
you closed your laptop, and offered him a smile “i was on omegle for a tiktok! i’m glad you’re back.” you discard your phone, wrapping your arms around his torso (and also making sure you don’t delete the draft)
shouto doesn’t say a lot, but he immediately accepts your touch, setting the groceries aside.
he doesn’t question the fact that you were on omegle because well,, he had to get used to your shenanigans on tiktok SOMEHOW
a few hours later, you posted the tiktok— and almost immediately, the tiktok gains a lot of attention
“i love how your boyfriend drove the last dude away 💀💀” “man the last dude didn’t take the hint 🗿” “your boyfriend indirectly protected you! we need more guys like him.”
you snicker at the comments, which ultimately gathered shouto’s attention “what’s up, love?”
you show him the tiktok, “the tiktok did well.” he’ll comment calmly, but shouto’s lowkey MAD ?? that a dude had the audacity. but he’s just glad that you’re happy just maybe,, don’t go on omegle anymore 💀
“love— next time, let me in on your tiktoks.” he says, running a thumb along your cheek lightly. because he was actually quite entertained, putting everything aside
bakugou katsuki
as if bakugou katsuki would let you go on OMEGLE, a place that’s known for having the sketchiest people to ever exist— but make it virtual
but being with you made him realize that well,, if you want to do something, you’ll go through lengths just to do it.
even the great bakugou katsuki can’t really stop you. whatever makes you happy— but oh, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t highly discourage it
which lead you to go on omegle for a tiktok in the other room, while bakugou exercised in the very next room.
when you told him that you wanted to film a tiktok, bakugou only shrugged— “don’t do overly dumb shit.” was what he only told you and he left the door open too
you then set up your phone and laptop, applied the appropriate tags— and went off to make your tiktok
you only filmed the interesting encounters, and the people you met on there were very diverse in personality and just,, in general.
after the 4th encounter, then came a rather interesting dude. he didn’t seem all that ordinary but he wasn’t spectacular. he was just nice
and the conversation was rather normal— until he started asking for your socials “putting everything aside, do you have social media? you’re really cute.”
you reject immediately, “oh no, i appreciate your words but— i already have a boyfriend.”
you just have to hope that he noticed bakugou walking back and forth with equipment, but with his next words— that doesn’t seem to be the case
“i didn’t see anyone back there, a simple no would’ve been sufficient instead.” uh oh
“no really, i—” and before things escalated, katsuki’s head peaked through the door frame, freshly out of the shower “are you almost done, idiot?”
the dude literally looked behind you, and thought “oh shit, their boyfriend is bakugou fucking katsuki.” because bakugou is famous for,, multiple different reasons
the dude’s camera shakes in terror, “oh uhm,, it was nice meeting you!” not long before he dips from of the conversation, never to be seen again.
closing your laptop— you end the tiktok while bursting into laughter, and this action just confused katsuki ever further. he heard you speaking to someone, and when he looked, the person was nowhere to be seen
“what are you laughing at??”
“nothing katsuki, i was laughing at the tiktok i just made.”
then— you figured that it would be best to tell katsuki now that you were on omegle (long story short, he wasn’t pleased)
he scolded you that you shouldn’t be on omegle, but let’s be honest, he couldn’t stay mad at you— so he just cuddles the frustration away
when you upload the tiktok the following hours, it blows up pretty quickly—with comments like “LOL IS THAT BAKUGOU KATSUKI??” “he had guts until he saw bakugou katsuki 💀” “tbh i’d be scared too”
and when you report the news the katsuki, he smirks— “as he should be.”
midoriya izuku
at this point, izuku is very much used to your shenanigans on tiktok. he’s very supportive of whatever you do all in all
but, about omegle,,, yeah,, as much as he trusts you— he does not trust omegle. he’s aware that it’s a shady place, and he doesn’t advise that you do go on that website bc he cares
so when you brought up the tiktok idea, he proposed that he’d be there, right beside you just to monitor if anyone’s being weird :)
and that’s great! because you also wanted to ask if he wanted to be a reoccuring guest in your tiktok— and of course, what kind of boyfriend would he be if he opposed?
he helps you set up your laptop and phone— all of that sort of stuff, and then you guys were off to make an interesting tiktok
oh, but izuku did apply the appropriate tags because he didn’t want you to see odd things he was secretly nervous but,, you were very ethusiastic, so he was too.
the first several people were interesting in their own way— especially with their reactions to your boyfriend appearing on screen
usually, they’d back off with, and comment on how cute your boyfriend is— wishing the both of you well before calmly leaving to meet new people,
that was how it was, until you met this person in particular.
he sounded very,, egotistical— i wouldn’t say that because you’ve just met the dude, but he acted like everyone wanted him or it sounded like that
then he says, “you definitely have a phone number, right? you’re cute, just my type.” wkdksmd this is awkward since izuku’s right beside you, but he’s just outside of the frame
then, izuku pops out of the frame— in all his cute ass glory, he gives a small wave to the not so pleased stranger
“please, that’s your boyfriend?” he scoffs, “with those arms, he looks like he could be your little brother! now let me ask again—”
it’s really weird?? because have you seen izuku’s gainz?? and this dude’s audacity is extraordinary.
but little did this guy know, he’s looking at midoriya izuku— and,, you’ve seen his performance in the sports festival.
the dude takes another glance at your boyfriend, who’s sitting there right beside you— and he realizes who he was talking to
“oh shit, you’re—” and before the both of you could realize it, he nopes out of the conversation.
after that encounter, you burst into a fit of laughter— the look on izuku’s face being priceless. “you should’ve seen your reaction!”
“haha, i guess he knew who i was,” he says bashfully, cheeks warming up. because it registered in his mind that people actually knew who he was. “can you,, upload the tiktok later? i want to hug you— i mean! if that’s fine.”
of course it’s fine! you oblige, and give him all the hugs he could ever need
after cuddling with izuku, you do upload the tiktok— and an hour later, your tiktok notifications blow up
the tiktok all in all gathered 1M views, 780K likes, and over 1,500 comments— most of them saying stuff like
“your boyfriend’s reaction was so cute?? i know he looked like he was going to punch him through the screen but 👀” “last dude was just not it.” “LMAO HE REALLY TRIED IT” “is your boyfriend IZUKU MIDORIYA??”
when you excitingly showed him the tiktok’s results, he was certainly pleased— because most of the comments were positive, and also because the tiktok’s results made you happy
“i’m glad that it did well!” he’ll sigh in relief, pressing a kiss against your temple, let’s just not go on there ever again

In General
This is a Deltarune blog, as of currently.
Please keep requests and asks SFW.
If multiple requests for a certain character are made, the finished requests will be scheduled to be weeks apart. If you sent an ask for a popular character and haven't gotten an answer, it's probably because of this.
You may ask if an ask was received, but please don't spam about it.
You're allowed to request character headcanons, not just "x reader" headcanons!
Headcanons will mainly be in second person, while written stories will be in third person (using they/them pronouns, unless specified otherwise). If you wish for headcanons to be in third person or stories to be in second person, please say so.
If a set of pronouns is specified (such as she/her, he/him, xe/xim, etc.), I will later post a gender neutral version of the headcanon/story.
Please don't use the submission box as a secondary ask box. The submission box is purely meant for submitted art, writing, etc NOT for making requests; the ask box is for making requests, and anon is on in the ask box.
For writing purposes
If we believe we can't write for something, we will try to send you in the direction of a blog that can.
If we ever decide to do match-ups, please don't be vague (anon is on, if you don't want your name attached to anything).
The above means that you can't request match-ups, and we'll delete the ask if you do!
Things that won't be written
We will not write anything related to y*ndere, which means no yan!characters or "reader had y*ndere friend/partner".
Adults and children in romantic relationships will be automatically denied. This also applies for older children and younger children in romantic relationships.
Note for Above: This means that any Lancer requests need to be strictly platonic. Any requests with Lancer will be tagged "deltarune & reader" and "lancer & reader".
People that are relatives in a romantic relationship will be automatically denied. This applies for biological, adoptive, step-relatives, etc. etc.
Tagging System
Tags will be at the end of posts.
"ask answered" is what will be used for answered asks.
"request granted" is what will be used for written requests.
"request denied" is what will be used for requests that we're not entirely sure about. We will also use this tag with anonymous requests we're denying to explain why we're denying the request.
Note for Above: If "for now" is tagged, that means we'll consider writing it if given more info.
"reblog" is what will be used for reblogged posts.
Please don't interact if...
You misgender any of the non-binary characters (Kris, Frisk, Chara, and Seam). We're aware that Frisk and Chara aren't in Deltarune, but we're counting them just in case.
Note for Above: Book made a post about Kris and Seam's pronouns, which are linked in their names, if you're wondering when they use they/them pronouns.
You fit the usual criteria (racist, queerphobic, "MAP"/p*do, pr*ship/"anti anti", etc. etc.)
You post NS/FW content and extreme violence (g*re, pictures of irl injuries, etc.). This mainly applies to those who don't tag those things, even if they're jokes.

Or should I say, attention, possible future students? Yeah, that would be more fitting but I’m not editing this again.
I have already mentioned this and I promised more info, so here it is. Would you like to have your teenage sim(s) make a cameo in my story? If the answer is yes, continue under the cut for more info.
I’ve revived this old story that’s been haunting me (in a good way) since 2018 and I need your sims. Or rather - my sims need your sims. What’s a school without classmates, right?
Your characters will have some minor roles, short appearances or will be included, for example, in the background in the classroom scenes. I want the environment to feel a bit more alive with more people around, if that makes sense.
So what are the requirements?
First, just let me know you’re interested in this - send me a message (either here or on discord, doesn’t matter) or an ask.
Choose your sim(s) - it can be an old sim from a bc that didn’t win, sims from your legacy, a pretty sim you made once and didn’t know what to do with them, whoever, that’s fully up to you and who you’re comfortable sending me/who you want to see in my story.
Seriously, please, you choose your sim(s), no “so who would you like the most?”. I’m terrible at choosing anything. It’s a rare miracle I’ve known for months who I’m going to vote for in the elections tomorrow lol
You can create new sims for me as well, if that’s what you’d like, but since they won’t have a big role, I suggest use an already existing sim, don’t waste your time.
Make sure the sim’s age is set to be a teenager.
Vanilla or banilla sims.
Please, keep the cc minimal. Don’t use cc clothes or too much cc makeup.
You can send me multiple sims if you’d like, I’m leaving that up to you. For now, I’ll accept 1-3 sims from everyone who wants to participate.
If there’s anything important about the sim (their pronouns, their relationship with the other sims you’re sending etc.), just tell me when sending them and I’ll keep it in mind.
There’s no set deadline for this yet but the sooner you send them, the better.
As for when the story will be posted, I’ll be honest with you, I don’t know. My work process is slow and it’ll be even slower now with school starting again (and in person this time, so I’ll unfortunately have to be away from home for most of the week - unrelated but god I wish I could quit and go to work here in my town instead). I'm not even going to guess the release date, but I’m positive this attempt at this story will go much better than the first one from 2018, so you will see it someday. I generally finish my stuff. Even if it takes three years. Looking at you, gen 6. No, honestly, one reason why I feel better about it this time is that no other story will be distracting me, as the original legacy itself is wrapped and I’m not playing it anymore (the rest of gen 6 will be posted soon, btw).
If you have any questions, let me know.
See you in the classrooms of Twinbrook High!

i feel like making a post about my revan’s pronouns / gender. my revan is nonbinary ( specifically pangender ) & uses they/she/he pronouns! different characters use different pronoun sets for them so i’m going to talk about that a little
obligatory disclaimer that i am a nonbinary person with multiple pronoun sets myself so this is coming from a ‘I Will Create My Own Representation’ pov. but anyway here we go:
pre-mandalorian wars revan used she/they pronouns. a solid 90% of the jedi only referred to them using she/her though. the main exceptions were arren kae (who used near-exclusive they/them), the exile (who, at this point, also used near-exclusive they/them), atris (who simply copied the exile) & alek (who mostly used she/her but did mix it up at times)
during the mandalorian wars, people began to assume that revan was a man due to their mask. revan ended up liking the he/him pronouns, though, and quickly adopted them. no one (bar their closest friends) knew revan’s actual gender so it was a coin-flip as to what pronouns someone would use at any given time (which, coincidentally, was how revan preferred it)
as the dark lord of the sith, people began to refer to revan near-exclusively using he/him pronouns. revan leaned into this, as it helped them distance themself from the persona they were projecting, and began to exclusively use he/him while in public. at the start, malak would continue to use she/they in private, but as their relationship deteriorated he began to use he/him at all times. it stopped being worth it to separate revan the dark lord from revan his friend.
the jedi council in general were a bit... slow when it came to revan’s pronouns. nonbinary folks aren’t exactly rare in the galaxy, but the council has historically not been the best when it comes to understanding revan. in a hilarious turn of fate, atris ends up being the most respectful person in the room when it comes to revan’s pronouns exclusively because of the exile’s lasting influence
leading on from that, when the council reprogrammed revan they gave their false persona exclusively she/her pronouns. they thought that revan only used he/him after their fall, and didn’t want to tempt fate by allowing them to recognise any part of themself from after their fall. revan genuinely does not mind the pronouns people use for them, but that is something that they are not okay with
this is getting long so the rest are going under a cut
canderous referred to them using ‘he/him’ pronouns by mistake at one point. revan’s response was to go ‘:o’ because they really vibed with that, and so started reprogrammed revan’s gender exploration
while revan is cool with any pronouns being used, the jedi exclusively using she/her on them rubs them the wrong way to the point where they ended up taking she/her privileges away from them, with a few exceptions
two such exceptions were atris and vrook. they irritate revan to the point where revan ends up ‘correcting’ them every time they use any pronoun set for them. revan simply does not wish to be perceived by them (and, besides, they think it’s real funny to watch them get riled up when they realise revan’s messing with them)
a more genuine exception is bastila. bastila doesn’t entirely get revan’s gender thing (especially at first when she fears that revan using he/him is a sign of their memories returning), but she does try to understand them. pre-leviathan, bastila mostly uses she/her for revan. during her fall, bastila exclusively uses he/him for revan. after she returns to the light, she alternates between she/they/he pretty easily
juhani is the other exception. juhani sat down with revan one night on the hawk to find out if revan has a genuine preference or if they really don’t care. upon finding out that revan really doesn’t care, juhani alternates between she/he for revan, though is consistent enough with her alternation that it’s always clear who she’s referring to. juhani says nonbinary rights!
mission has no trouble alternating pronouns, too. she’s used to these kinds of presentations! though, mission’s pronoun alteration is far less consistent than juhani’s. she won’t alternate mid-conversation, but she just uses whichever pronoun set comes to her mind first, which can be confusing for those who don’t know revan
hk-47 does alternate mid-conversation. revan programmed him to because they thought it was hilarious. it’s an absolute nightmare to keep track of who hk is referring to in any conversation that involves revan, but he will never stop
carth doesn’t entirely get it, but he respects revan and will use any pronouns to make them comfortable. he mostly uses they/them on revan, though he goes through a phase post-leviathan of using she/her. revan doesn’t really notice, and after he’s worked through his issues with how to see revan he goes back to mostly using they/them
jolee near exclusively uses they/them for revan. except when he’s in a chaotic mood, then he can get as bad as hk with the alternation. revan finds this hilarious, too
zaalbar mostly uses he/they, though has been known to mimic what others are using. pronoun stuff is also pretty normal for big z
after the mandalorian wars, the exile just starts mimicking what others use for revan. she says it’s because she really doesn’t care enough to put any amount of thought into how she wants to refer to revan, though she would be lying if she said it doesn’t rub her the wrong way to hear the council use she/her on revan
#knights of the old republic#kotor#darth revan#revan#nb revan rights#being nonbinary means putting far too much thought into pronouns#misgendering /#just for the stuff with the council#& i dont know how comfortable everyone is with going ham on pronouns like this

THE BASICS
Name: Maverick Hobbes Braxton
Age: Twenty-one
Gender: Cismale
Pronouns: He/Him
Major & year: Philosophy, Third year
Faceclaim: Alex Fitzalan
Occupation: N/A
THE FLIGHT RISK
Maverick Braxton, as you might see, is an enigma—or rather, has evolved into one, slowly: a transformation that begun with his first breath. In his early years, the stage had been set for him, line by line. Act One: attend prep schools, excel in classes. Act Two: attend Covington, take center stage—you know, all of the things his older brother, Richard had accomplished with ease, just one year prior to all of his expectations. It was simple, really: a blueprint laid out ahead of him, with little to nothing in his way.
The only problem was that Maverick didn’t exactly see the point in choosing that path, that stage, that story. To him, it wasn’t challenging.
That, and the fact that the life laid out in front of him offered him absolutely nothing.
A series of banal expectations, unfair comparisons, and heartbreaking betrayals, and the traditional life of the Braxton child was thrown out the window—at least, in his brain, it was. See, Maverick Braxton, while independent, coy, and arrogant, isn’t stupid. He knows if he pleases his parents just enough, they’ll still distribute his trust fund and still bail him out of legal trouble when he inevitably tiptoes too far down the delicate line between ambition and rebellion. Perhaps it’s a bit selfish, but what does he owe to a family who paid him no attention, who never asked of his well-being, his own ambitions, his personal dreams?
He’s the kind of person to drive down the highway, windows rolled all the way down, cigarette lit—not because he necessarily likes the taste of nicotine, but because he likes the way the smoke creates clouds that obscure reality. He’ll surprise you in class when he interjects with a sarcastic but surprisingly salient point before throwing up his hood and retreating to the back corner for the rest of class. He’s the kind of person to start reading a book, flipping incessantly through the pages, both impatient by the pace of the plot, yet put it down before he reaches the final pages because he doesn’t want to be disappointed by the ending. He’s the kind of artist who rarely finishes a sketch, the writer who is never satisfied by a poem—for fear, of course, by deep-rooted insecurities that nothing that he will ever do will be enough.
A once-broken heart had taken time to mend, even though it seems ice-cold and whole from the outside. It’s why he has commitment issues: he doesn’t want to be burned again. He plays off his flirtatious bit as a personality trait, someone who is bored by the prospect of being tied down—and yet those who share his bed might consider him Covington’s most surprisingly deep pillow-talker.
An enigma, you see—one who doesn’t stick around long enough for anyone to truly understand, truly a Flight Risk.
BIOGRAPHY:
( You can read his full biography here! Still in the process of editing it a bit, but below are some important bullet points! )
Maverick was born the second of three children to the Braxton family—and as per usual with the Braxton children, he was born into a life filled to the absolute brim of expectation.
His father, a playwright, his mother, an actress. His brother, a theatre prodigy—what part did that leave him to play? The assumed expectations were to follow in his mother and brothers’ footsteps and take center stage; he excelled, for a while, but Maverick always felt lost.
Neighbors and family friends would always ask if he had measured up, in each and every shape and form: it was like the entire universe had a scoreboard with their names titling each section, and Maverick was always playing catch-up, never knowing where the finish line was.
For a while, he stuck to the script that was given to him: study, succeed, repeat. He tried to understand the ins and outs of his father’s work, of masterful acting techniques, trying to make a large enough splash to where his family would even notice the work he put into his life. Surprise: it didn’t.
It took him seventeen years to truly understand that his role in life was not exactly the story his parents had laid out for him, but rather, his sibling, instead.
Downcast emotions transformed quickly into cynicism. What used to make him feel sad now fueled a blue fire within Maverick’s chest, one that felt wronged by the system he was placed in: a complete first-world problem, but it was then and there when he decided to take advantage of his situation, given that he had spent his entire life dedicated to a part he wouldn’t play.
Hypocritical as he was, he still enjoyed the fruits of his parents’ work, cashing the unlimited checks with his name on them, as if it was some sort of sick version of love.
One piece of recognition that Maverick finally earned was an acceptance to Covington—and even that couldn’t be tainted by his brother’s success or his legacy status.
At Covington, Maverick has both lost and found his footing, multiple times. He’s quit acting, quit studying theater, in favor of a topic that stimulates his brain more than reading lines and
PERSONALITY:
Maverick Braxton is certainly a paradox. He’s charismatic, funny, and has a witty sense of humor –– and is generally appreciated by his peers because he’s able to move conversation and discussion without making topics seem dry.
Despite his apparent inferiority to his sibling, the Braxton family still breeds the cream of the crop. He’s certainly a bit arrogant sometimes, given that he’s intelligent, innovative, and clever, and wants to be recognized for it –– however, even if he might not show it on the outside, he appreciates a good challenger. He thinks it keeps his wit sharp, and of course, his ego would never show it, but he does appreciate learning from people. After all, his passion in philosophy, his current area of study, makes him certainly interested in how the world works.
Those who happen to get to know Maverick outside of the surface-level stuff, outside the initial cockiness and flirtatious front he puts on will know that he’s actually quite thoughtful. His lonely childhood has made him extremely loyal to those who have shown him similar trust and friendship –– he would never turn his back on them.
He asks probing questions, is a good listener –– perhaps because he’s interested in human decision making, but is also because he doesn’t quite know what it’s like to be loved unconditionally –– though he wants to.
Deep down, what almost no one knows is that he’s really quite soft. He passes his curiosity off as wanting to understand people, when really it’s a mechanism for hoping someone asks him questions in return, to give him the time of day he wished his parents ( and the rest of the goddamned universe ) had given him.
Despite his theatre prowess, he isn’t actually a particularly good liar. Those who spend enough time around him can hear his tone of voice incline slightly and see him scratch his brow.
AESTHETICS:
coffee-stained mugs, walking with headphones in but nothing playing, untied shoelaces, black hoodies, a cheeky smirk, small books in his back pocket, writing in the margins, unfinished poems, quoting old authors on a daily basis, incessant eye-rolling, pen ink stains, an unmade bed, mismatched socks, floral ties, empty bottles of liquor, rose thorn pricks, old worn poetry books, polished dress shoes, calloused fingers, unlit cigarettes between teeth.
HEADCANONS:
Funnily enough, Maverick’s name means ‘independent, a noncomformist’, which is exactly the path that he has taken to stray away from his family’s expectations.
He does have one strong connection to his family, though: his grandmother, on his father’s side. She understands the pressure he undergoes, who saw the pressure Maverick’s father endured to obtain the success he has. She is one of the only reasons that Maverick has not just jetted off to take on his own adventure. He loves her dearly, and wishes that her empathy and wisdom would rub off on the rest of his family.
Maverick has some form of synesthesia, which allows him to remember a lot more than the average person. He associates colors, smells, sounds, to words –– and allows him to efficiently study any subjects he doesn’t have immediate passion for.
In the privacy of his own bedroom, he sometimes writes poetry and sketches his thoughts and muses –– when he knows he’s in complete privacy. Faces and features that appear in his sketchbooks are often those he’s thinking of often, those who intrigue him. He’s actually quite good a sketching, maybe not quite as good at writing poetry.
His room is spotless –– evidence that he is a bit of a control freak sometimes. It shows that during his adolescence, he reveled in the parts of his life that he could control and perfect.
tw drugs. He more than dabbles in drug use, smoking marijuana maybe every other day, while partaking in harder drugs like cocaine and adderall and others probably once a week. He feels like he’s in control of his use, but it may start to get the best of him. end tw.
Maverick is left-handed. He hates that he gets pen ink stains when he draws, writes poetry, takes notes. His left palm is probably perennially covered with ink.
Though he’s often wearing headphones ( airpods, of course, the nerve of this rich kid ), half the time, nothing’s playing. Sometimes he forgets to press play on his phone, sometimes he purposely likes listening to decision-making and conversations of strangers. it lets him think about the nature of mankind.
Maverick’s favorite philosopher is Albert Camus, known for his work that heavily developed the idea of absurdism ( much to do with the meaning of life, and human inability to discern an answer ).
Maverick’s preferred method of transportation is his skateboard. he loved it first because his parents hated it: pushing himself around on a board like that would get him injured—besides, why not just take the car to school, the driver had been paid for anyway? It was his first taste of rebellion. Now at Covington, where skateboarding is far more efficient than walking across campus, it comes in handy when he sees someone he’d rather not stop and chat to.
Maverick could die with a poetry book nestled on his chest—it’s the one thing he got out of the impressive book collection his family owned. There was something daunting and beautiful about the way poems would transform metaphors into something fantastical, like the emotions were clearly there, but the words were skirting the issue. Kind of like how his parents would never really tell him they loved him.
Maverick often has headphones in when he walks to class. not particularly because he’s actually listening to music or a podcast, but rather because he’d just … rather not be bothered to stop and talk to people.
Maverick loves to draw. He’s mostly self-taught, with a bit of mentorship from his high school art teacher. Evidenced by the rest of his fleeting personality, he rarely finishes a sketch or painting. He claims he never has time to finish them, but the number of crumbled-up, half-finished sketches in his trash bin might say otherwise.
PLOTS
** see my wanted plots tag here too! // and my plots page here !!
* FIRST LOVE / OPEN.
It wouldn’t be easy to make Maverick feel like even more of a disappointment than he already had with his parents, his family—but your muse proved this feeling wrong. He loved them, more than he’d ever loved anything before. In the midst of confusion about where he belonged, he felt safe with your muse; he’d do anything for them. Things ended, he felt betrayed ( though the break-up could have easily been due to a fault of his ), and the split made him the one who now struggles fully with commitment. He doesn’t want to have his heart broken again. See: this entire pinterest board.
but also if u give me this ……………… i’ll name my firstborn after u
* BEST FRIEND / OPEN.
Those who go through similar childhood traumas are often able to understand each other –– that was how it worked with Maverick and your muse, at least. They’re thick as thieves — and have likely seen the ups and downs of Maverick’s life in real time.
* CHILDHOOD FRIENDS / OPEN.
Self explanatory—and also probably knows about the pressures the Braxton family imposes on their children.
* EX-FRIENDS / OPEN.
Friends who were close, close no longer. Maverick’s a real piece of work, and an asshole, too—there are myriad possibilities for why Maverick could have pushed them away. He wouldn’t openly admit that he misses being around your muse, but he certainly would feel a bit of guilt given that they’re no longer the closest of friends.
* MOMENT OF WEAKNESS / OPEN.
Your muse, in whatever unfortunate setting, saw a glimpse of Maverick’s soft side that hardly ever makes an appearance. He’s not going to let them tell the world about his vulnerabilities, though. Not a chance.
* DISLIKED / OPEN.
Maverick is sarcastic, cold, and sometimes emotionless. It’s not surprising that not everyone gets along with the middle Braxton. The possibilities are endless—throw in some sexual tension and I’d actually fall at ur feet.
* PREVIOUS ROOMMATES / OPEN.
Your muse, at one point, probably knew Maverick better than everyone else at Covington. They overheard some of his phone calls with his parents, saw his notes for how he was to achieve his life goals, heard him crying in the middle of the night when he thought your muse was asleep. They could be extremely close now, as in one of the few people Maverick opens up to, or could be distant friends who know about one anothers’ struggles. The possibilities are endless, tbh.
+ ANYTHING LEGITIMATELY ……… IF U THINK THERE’S POSSIBILITY FOR SOMETHING COOL W MAV AND UR MUSE. SIGN ME THE F UP. THANKS.

(replies per this post)
Alright, so, I’m going to talk about this shit right now and prob’ly repeat a lot of shit that I have already said. A lot of what I am going to say can be found in my gender tag on this blog. I will also tag this as gender so you guys can blacklist or whatever. I’m also tossing this in the tags, again, because what I am going to say is something that I’m very firm on. So, if you can’t read what’s in the images, here’s the text: withabeau replied to your post ”i don't know if anyone else feels this way. i'm just wondering because it's quite invalidating and goes deeper than hating and exposing someone ever think it's triggering to other non-binary and trans people to know you're deadnaming someone, because you don't like or believe they are trans. do trans and non-binary have to prove themselves and pass a test? it doesn't leave room for inclusivity in the trans/nb community. that's just transphobic stuff and not a good rhetoric to have and example to set. gender shouldn't be used against any person, especially non-binary folk:/” ------------------------------------------------- Okay, for my replies to what has been said: To preface this: I AM GENDERFLUID AND BI. There’s nothing to prove to me because I am part of the community. There are also a lot of other trans and non binary people in the community who also see the holes in what Taylor has said, which Ill get to further down, about their gender status. I’m not out here dismissing other people for their gender at all. I have always been in the camp that Taylor does not have gender dysphoria and, instead, has body dysmorphia. Having said that, I will still call them Taylor, but will use theey/them pronouns for them. I have staunchly refused to call them Lainey and, currently, Kai just because I know that Gerg had picked out their names for them. The reason for this decision, on my end, is that I have been in a relationship similar to Gerg and Taylor’s and I see all of the controlling aspects from Gerg. Gerg has controlled Taylor, along with some of his past exes, by renaming them. Not legally, of course, but it’s still very, very unsettling and makes me uncomfortable. Hence why I have used their birthname. I also know that her friends and family still prob’ly use her birthname, too. There have been a lot of things that Taylor has said that has raised a ton of red flags. From saying that they wished that they had a smaller chest and hips, to saying that they don’t want a deeper voice and body hair and a more prominent adam’s apple (which ???? that’s not how that works), to showing people several wrong ways to bind, to just walking around the house naked/half naked, to getting pregnant twice and is still breast feeding the youngest child (as far as I know, though most people with chest dysphoria wouldn’t do that), to saying that you can basically pick what you’re dysphoric about, they have been a mess with trying (and failing) to be consistent with their gender identity. Now, were Taylor without Gerg? I’d have a likely chance of believing them. If Gerg wasn’t involved in their life at all, there is a chance that they would be non binary or trans. There’s also an equal chance of them just being cis were is not for Gerg’s influence. The whole reason why I doubt that Taylor is trans/non binary and, instead, just very confused and misinterpreting body dysmorphia as gender dysphoria is 100% down to Gerg. Gerg has been manipulative and abusive (though not physically, as far as we know) toward Taylor throughout their entire relationship, going so far as to groom them from the time they started talking, which was about when they were 16. With this, Gerg has manipulated them into being poly, something that they have said they weren’t for several times and constantly keeps getting burned by it. Gerg has also manipulated them into being bi. Or, at the very least, has taken advantage of them being bi, since the ID’d as bi on a dating site prior the the two of them getting together, supposedly. They have denied being bi at the start of the relationship, hence why it’s a bit fuzzy. I’m sure that there are other things that Gerg has pushed them toward, too, which is why I’m in the camp of not believing that Taylor is trans/non binary and has misconstrued body dysmorphia for gender dysphoria. It also doesn’t help that they had an eating disorder, or hint of one, toward the beginning of the relationship, too. That is something that Gerg is known for. Having his partners be skinny, even having a few of them sign skinny contracts or agree to remain skinny during the relationship. It’s part of his weird defeminzation shit, which is also another reason I don’t think Taylor is trans/non binary. Gerg is well known to tear down his partners and make them ugly, in his eyes. He did this with Sk [with not letting her wear skirts or dresses or show off much skin], with Shi [with shaving her head and causing her a mental break down with his abuse], he tried with AJ (if I recall correctly), and he’s doing it with Taylor. There are just too many things that add up against Taylor’s insistence of being trans/non binary. So, sorry that I don’t believe this whole thing, though I can still be respectful about pronouns as I have been. Also, we can focus on multiple things at the same time, including the nasty shit that the two of them have been doing and being skeptical about Taylor’s gender.

run to me, lover.
★ hi and welcome to my search! i’m saint/jude/thad/whatever variant of saint judas thaddaeus you wish to come up with. i’m lonely, i have cravings, and i’m looking for partners. specifically i’m looking for original roleplays and original characters in fandom settings. A B O U T ! ★ female or neutral pronouns (she/her/they/them) ★ old enough to know better (20s) ★ existing alternately between this dimension and the next, but often in EST ★ lawful neutral with aspirations of chaotic neutral ★ breaker of chains, mother of cats R E A D M E ! ★ basically looking for active partners for casual word count rp’s and high emotional investment in characters and pairings. i roleplay over email and gdocs. i generally prefer to use discord for ooc chat/plot only, but if email and gdocs don’t work for you i will use it for posting as well. ★ i write multiple genders and prefer playing multiple characters (mains and otherwise) within a single rp. talk to me about your pairing and doubling prefs. i’m looking to play a lady in a m/f pair and happy to do whatever pairing my partner wants to double as. ★ talk to me about faceclaims (real life only; i’ll probably use whoever you want if you’re someone who likes specific fc’s), playlists, aesthetics, headcanons, hypothetical scenarios, etc. i love nothing more than getting super invested in characters, couples, settings, and so on. ★ since i’m an adult i expect that the people i roleplay with will also be adults (over 18 and preferably over 20). while i’m fine with mature themes, please, please do not solicit me for pwp or roleplays in which the main conceit is kink-fulfilment. i’m more of a ftb person anyway because i’m old and tired and the thrill of trying to describe someone’s ding-dong has largely worn off for me. all main characters will be over 18 (most of my oc’s are in their late 20s or in their 30s, and no, i don’t do major age gaps). let me know if you have limits, triggers, squicks, or anything you would like to avoid in the roleplay or ooc. O R I G I N A L S ! ★ detective/police drama: i’ve been on a big big detective show/true crime kick lately. and by lately i mean for my whole life. give me your grizzled, beaten-down detectives and police chiefs, your femme fatales, your wide-eyed rookies, your nosy journalists, your internal corruption, and your most aesthetic settings. wanna head to the cliffs of dorset like in broadchurch? let’s go. wanna head down to the deep south like true detective? i’m on it. wanna go somewhere new and weird? pack your bags, we’re headin’ out. for reasons i’m specifically craving something weird and grim set in iceland or scotland. have i been to either of those places? no. but the heart wants what it wants and my heart wants missing persons cases set in beautiful but challenging landscapes. ★ victorian paranormal/occult detectives: does what it says on the tin! basically like sherlock holmes but there’s ghosts and summonings. not super into vampires and werewolves, but i can be reasoned with. ★ i dunno how to describe this one aside from something along the lines of brideshead revisited? a bunch of attractive young people spending a summer at some beautiful country estate in the 1910s-50s, being privileged hedonists and adding a homoerotic flair to everything they do. ★ i’m also happy to talk about less conceptualised shit. general interests include troubled relationships in interesting settings with melancholy soundtracks. i prefer settings that aren’t quite modern (ie. 1990s and before). i’m not interested in stuff like high school/college/apartment/neighbourhood/etc., however. ★ i’m always 100% down for a good historical roleplay. give me a nice medieval war of succession, some grey, barren, windswept brontëan landscapes, a pristine austenian parlour or the glitz and fast cars of fitzgerald’s 20s and the smoke and sparkle of the golden age of film and i’ll be a very happy gal. F A N D O M S ! ★ ok here’s the thing. there are a few fandoms i’d be happy to play in, but i’m not super keen on playing canons at the moment or canon/oc. more interested in just using the setting/universe for our oc’s. however, if there is a canon in one of these fandoms you are dying for, i will almost certainly be happy to oblige. ★ marvel cinematic universe: i’m interested in exploring the post-snap/decimation era. obviously the avengers are a little shorthanded and with all that chaos it’s prime time™ for criminal activity. some new vigilantes fighting some new villains in this setting would be pretty sick. equally happy to go down less grim plot avenues. ★ fallout: pretty self-explanatory? just throw our oc’s into the wasteland of our choosing. i’m most familiar with new vegas and 4, but i’m acquainted with the capital wasteland and appalachia. i’d be down to use a setting that hasn’t been featured in the main series (fallout alaska fallout alaska fallout alaska). ★ spider-man: into the spider-verse: more spiderpersons. ★ pacific rim: kind of interested in playing around with the first-gen jaegers and rangers? like, pre-pacrim 1. everything is experimental, the world still hasn’t come to terms with the kaiju attacks, and rangers are dropping like flies. i haven’t seen the second movie but i’d be down to do something set after the first one, too. ★ mass effect: listen. all i want in this world is to throw together a motley crew of alliance and non-alliance, multi-species personnel doing random, non-shepard related missions during the reaper war. getting up to stupid shit and kicking ass, you know? something during the first contact war would be cool, too. ★ dragon age: basically the same idea as mass effect except a crew of inquisition and non-inquisition, multi-species personnel doing random, non-inquisitor related missions during the events of inquisition OR non-hero of ferelden-related wardens doing warden shit literally anywhere, anytime, any day of the week. if you can’t tell, i fucking love wardens. C O N T A C T ! ★ if you’ve gotten this far and think we can work something out, hit me up. send an email to ghvstbaby (at) gmail (dot) com. from there i can give you my discord tag, should you want it. please tell me a little about yourself and what you want to roleplay when you message me. emails that just say “are you still looking for partners?” or “hey i’m interested in rp” tend to get put in the trash.

Any tips on writing nonbinary characters? Like, any 'do's and 'don't's? I really wanna get it right, so I thought I'd ask someone who actually identifies as nonbinary :)
Any tips on writing nonbinary/trans characters?
I got two asks for this (maybe from the same person?) and it’s taken me some time to write an answer since this is such a broad... question.
Thing is, nonbinary is both a gender in and of itself but also kinda an umbrella term? Since you also have people who are agender, bigender, genderfluid, etc. who would also technically fall under the umbrella, but don’t call themselves nonbinary since that’s not the label they want, and since the latter labels are a lot more... specific.
Non-binary simply means that someone identifies as a gender outside the binary of man and woman and that’s it.
There’s also the fact that I’m pretty sure I have some opinions other nonbinary people wouldn’t agree with (for example, I dislike neopronouns. Xir/Xe and Zie/Zir are the only ones that’s pronounceable to me. And I straight up dislike nounself pronouns and actively avoid people who only use nounself pronouns since to me, they are. Too hard and complicated to use. I remember reading a really good post on why nounself pronouns are linguistically incorrect in English and how to properly format them to be correct, but I dunno where that post is now) which is also why I have been hesitant about this.
Also it’s a complex... hmm thing. So yeah.
I think the first thing to ALWAYS remember when writing a minority character is that their status as a minority is not their only trait. Don’t use cliches. Don’t make them one-dimensional and make an enby’s entire personality revolving around the fact they’re enby. It’s othering, at least to me, and just plain bad writing.
Another thing is, even tho I wish there were more books out there about being enby (are there any really out there at all?) for the most part I think cis authors should be careful and kinda tread around writing about an enby’s life and being enby. Unless you have done a shit ton of research, know exactly what you’re doing, and have talked to multiple different enbys (and not just over text either), I would merely have the character. Be there.
1) it’s a lot easier who wants to do all that research??
2) still counts as rep (as long as it’s positive)
So how do you write (possibly?) positive rep for a enby character? Let’s go back to pronouns. The most versatile and acceptable pronouns for enby people is they/them tbh. It’s completely gender-neutral. There are enby people who use gendered pronouns as well (She/her, he/him, maybe they use all three!) but writing-wise, it would be easiest to keep to one set of pronouns to make the writing easier to read. I dunno about anyone else, but I for sure would get tripped up and confused if a character’s pronouns change throughout a book. (Maybe it can be written well idk but I don’t think I’d like it personally sorry) so for the most part? I suggest just sticking with they/them. It’s the easiest to write.
Also, I suggest to never call your enby characters “it”. Yes, some irl enbys like “it” as a pronoun, but to most it’s dehumanizing, so it’s best to avoid it I think.
Interestingly enough, even tho they/them is the easiest to write with, it can also be a little tricky at times! Sometimes you’ll have to format sentences differently so readers can understand the difference between the singular and plural forms of they/them. Personally, it’s a fun writing exercise to me! So if anything, writing about an enby character can actually help stretch some different writing muscles so to speak.
And speaking of pronouns, never ever have the narration misgender the character. Never. Hell, usually, I don’t even have characters or even the VILLAINS of my books misgender characters. And my reasoning behind this is: I dislike using transphobia/enbyphobia as a tool to show a villain is evil--their actions alone in the novel should be enough. And two: if even the evilest of villains aren’t transphobic... that says a lot to me. It speaks VOLUMES and is a lot more powerful of an (unsaid) statement then having your villains be transphobes. (but that’s just my opinion ofc!!)
Now, to me, if you’re just writing about a enby side character, I would just have them. Be there. Not misgendered, everyone regarding them using the proper pronouns, and avoiding gendered language (which can be hard as it is hardwired into us without us even knowing, for instance!) so make sure you edit accordingly.
Also, and I think this should be OBVIOUS by now, but PLEASE do not write a “forced coming out” scene. Like, where the cis character walks in on an enby character changing clothes or whatever. Like. That is. So over with and done. Ik that terrible trope fits trans men/women characters better, but I think it’s still important to say here, esp if you’re writing an enby character who tries to pass as the opposite of their birth gender or binds/stuffs/packs/etc at all. It’s uncomfortable, possibly triggering, and honestly? Super cliche. It’s bad writing, my friend.
And whether or not you want to make the direct statement that they are an enby is kinda up to you? There’s arguments for and against it. If you can fit it into the story safely without making anything clunky, go for it! You can either have the character themselves tell someone how they identify, or maybe they’re being introduced and they ask the person they are introducing themselves to to use “they/them” since they are an enby. I’m sure there are other, more creative ways to do this, but yeah. This specific topic is super situational so I would have a sensitivity reader (or two!) to read over what you write to make sure it’s okay.
Okay the last thing I’m gonna talk about is character description. Ignoring the fact I personally am terrible at it, there’s a kinda huge divide here.
For one, a lot of authors and I think enby people in general don’t want others to know their birth gender, which is understandable. And with writing, there isn’t any visual clues besides what you write down. The world is your oyster, you can have your character look like anything, the reader won’t know the birth gender unless you use gendered language.
The tricky thing is this, tho: the stereotypical enby person/character is someone who is skinny white and vaguely masculine. I, personally, despise this stereotype with my whole being. Imo, enby people can dress and look however they want. Clothes are just fabrics we put onto our flesh bodies. If girls can enjoy pants and boys can like dresses and skirts, then enbys can dress however they want to as well. That’s a freedom I think everyone should have. Clothes don’t dictate gender. Enby people also can’t control what they look like. Some people.. just won’t ever be able to pass as androgynous (unless they Really Work at it, like me!!) and it’s unfair to them I think as well.
That being said, writing an enby with feminine clothing, for example, will probably have your reader think of them as DFAB, unfortunately, unless you are really careful.
Other things that can make your reader think of an enby’s birth gender: describing them having to wear a bra or having a period, describing if they have to shave their face or not or how much facial hair they grow, describing their genitalia AT ALL, describing them with certain face/body shapes, describing their hair length (possibly), if they wear a binder or stuff a bra or pack, describing if they wear makeup and the list can go on.
Some people would think you should avoid this completely, which is why vaguely masculine is what people go for. it’s the typical androgynous look (which isn’t bad pe se and I don’t wanna insult anyone who looks like that!) but imo what would be more normalizing and important is to have enby characters look how they want, choose if they wanna wear a binder or not, if they wear makeup, and etc.
Some people might thing the above is completely fine and that it’s important to show anyone can be enby and you’re still valid as an enby even if you might not “pass” for instance or don’t try your best to conceal certain secondary sex characteristics. Others might think you should make your enby characters as androgynous as possible, even in the stereotypical way.
Which view is right? Dammed if I know, and I don’t think one is or not. But it is something to think about. I think the stereotypical response to a cis author would be to go with the safest option and allow enby authors write about enby characters breaking gender roles, but honestly, it is your character. Whether you make your enby character vaguely masculine to avoid those pitfalls or go balls to the walls and do whatever you want because enbys can dress and look how they want fuck you all is up to you. Do what you think your character would do and design them to match their personality. I don’t think people should be boxed into what sort of characters they are allowed to make.
And don’t be afraid to make mistakes. It’s okay if you fuck something up by accident or are accidentally insensitive. And honestly? Groups of people aren’t a hivemind. No matter how good your representation is, there will be someone who disagrees with you and thinks you didn’t “write it correctly”
all I can say is: learn as much as you can, always strive to keep learning and listening, and do the best you can. You can’t succeed if you don’t try and you can’t learn without making a few mistakes along the way.
(And as for trans characters... I myself am not a trans man/woman so idk how to best say what not to do, but I think it follows the same as above for the most part? I’d ask the opinion of a trans man or woman first rather than an enby like me, as even I have fucked up writing about my trans woman character in the past. I’ve learned a lot since then, but I think I am still learning and would rather not educate someone on a topic such as that. Also this post is already long and I am Tired of writing about this topic lol)
I rambled a lot as usual and I am so so sorry. It’s late and this was SUCH a broad question I didn’t?? Really know how to answer so YEAH SORRY if this is no help at all!! I tried my best!!

HOW TO INDIE ROLEPLAY ★
there’s indie rp and then there’s URBAN indie rp. what is urban indie, you ask? urban indie is a group of independent roleplayers who mainly use black/poc FCs in an urban setting. how do i run my own urban indie blog? this is not that much different from indie rp so let’s get down to the basics of indie roleplaying in general.
make your blog!
your url can be whatever you wish it to be. using my alias as an example, it can be kitty1x1, kittyrps, kittyofrps, or.. SEDUCTNS.
draft up your muses!
figuring out how many muses to use is always the hardest part for me. you can use just one muse which is the most easiest, but you can also have 3+ muses. however many you have, you need to have a page on your blog with their respective information.
if you want to use a single muse, you can have a lengthy bio, background info and stats for them since that’s easier to do if you’re working with one muse. doing that for multiple muses can be tedious so it’s not up to you tbh. if you don’t want to that for your multiple muses, just have basic information like their age, dob, zodiac sign if it’s relevant, likes/dislikes, personality type, traits. a great example is my friend’s.
for urban indie your muses should mainly be poc.
pick a theme!
organization is key so depending on how many muses you have, you want to make sure that the theme you use is adequate enough for all the links you’ll have. it’s perfectly fine to pick a theme with three custom links, as long as one of those directs you to a navigation with all your other links.
rules rules rules!
these are just things that you want people to adhere to when roleplaying with you. you don’t want to rp with a certain FC? add that to your rules. you don’t want to start off threads already in a ship? add that to your rules, and the list goes on. fcrinas’ is another great example.
mun?
the mun is you, the person behind the characters, the person running the blog. it’s typical to have a section on your page dedicated to a short intro on who you are. you don’t have to give out your gov name and ss number, just your alias, pronouns, age, and whatever else you want to share about yourself.
tags!
the main tags you need to have:
a tag for each of your muses’ interactions.
ship tags.
verse tags.
that is literally it. everything else is optional. you can have an OOC tag, an INSPO tag, a tag for each of your muses that consists of posts that define who they are, a music tag, a visual tag for each of your muses, a tag for faces/celebrities you love, a tag for aesthetics, a tag for scenery, etc. it’s up to you.
if you want to be fancy with your tags here’s a great post with a bunch of symbols and.. stuff.
loserps also has this fantastic master-list for tags.
ALWAYS TAG TRIGGERS. TW VIOLENCE, TW INCEST, TW NSFW, TW MENTAL DISORDERS. !! TAG ‘EM. (here’s a great list of triggers)
what the feck is a verse/canon?
a verse is the universe in which your plots/interactions are taking place. for example: DCs The Flash/Arrow on the CW takes place in a completely different universe from DC’s Justice League movie. Marvel and DC are two different universes.
your muse’s main verse is their default verse, it’s the one that they’re always in and the one where most of their interactions fall under. however, if your muse has a ship in their main verse and you want them to have multiple ships you can create different verses where your muse is in other relationships that are completely separate from your main one, whereas it doesn’t even exist.
another example: my muse Sasha is falling for another muse named Derek in one thread, but in her main verse she’s a married woman. instead of making her cheat (which i could) i can just classify Sasha x Derek’s thread as a different verse.
if you want to make your muse a vampire in another verse, you can do that as well.
if you’re using a muse from a show, a book, or comics, a canon is the actual event that occurred in those things. you didn’t make them up, they’re life events set in stone.
for original muses, your canons are things that you set in stone for your muse. using hostilitics’ verse page for example, her muse Katya had a ship that is canon and even though it’s inactive it still affects Katya in her different verses and is apart of her character development.
btw, here is a great guide on all the indie terms by rphelper.
icons, gifs, cute things, aesthetics!
these are not required. you do not have to use icons or gifs to indie roleplay. they are optional!
intro post!
imo you don’t have to do this, but you can. it can be a simple hey i’m abcd, or a graphic introducing your blog to the tags.
starters!
finally, we’ve got the basics out of the way and you’re ready to rp! how do you do it? pick a muse and pick a gif icon or rp icon of their face if you’re going to use one for them, and post your starter. tag your starter #open starter, #indie rp. specifically for urban indie roleplayers add: #urban indie rp, #indie urban rp.
an open starter is a starter in which you’ll accept replies from anyone. a closed starter is a starter that is for one specific person and only they can reply to it.
your starter can be a few lines of dialogue or a paragraph. you can write in first person or third. it is up to you, don’t let anyone tell you any different. just make sure that your starter itself is open for response.
for example: “simone walked into her room and closed her door, locking it behind her. finally, she was alone. she then jumped in her bed and fell asleep.” imo that’s not very open and i would scroll past that. people could work with that, but it’s like conversation.. leave it open to reply. “simone walked out of her house and locked the door behind her, flipping her hair as she descended the front steps.” that’s open because my muse can easily form an interaction with Simone.
das’ it, that’s that!
feel free to hmu if you have any more questions & s/o to fcrinas/hostilitics for allowing me to use her as an example.

Number 6: Alone Together
It feels good to be back on schedule, even though I technically was only late for one day. I was at a good run doing these on time, so doing one late was actually a bit sad for me personally.
I am back to doing these at my usual time though, and we are getting much closer to the vaunted top 5, which is a prestigious honor to only me because this is my list and my opinion.
Before we get into the top five, we need to talk about number six, which is a great episode in its own right, but only just missed making the top five.
Welcome back to the 25 Days of Stevenmas (name pending) where today I’ll be talking about Season One Episode Thirty-Seven, Alone Together.
Premise
The episode begins, not as a continuation of last episode which must be refreshing to some, but it does begin with the Gems giving Steven some fusion training.
He tries to dance like them, but that doesn’t seem to work. Steven laments on how he can’t fuse, and Pearl brings up the possibility that it is because he is half human.
Amethyst jokingly says that Steven can fuse, while Garnet has the fullest confidence that he can, which has Steven worried.
Later that day, Steven is at the beach with Connie and the two are discussing how Steven could get the hang of fusion. Connie suggests that the Gems write out the steps, but Steven says that it’s more than the dancing, making the point that his body probably can’t become light like the Gems.
Connie remarks on how she thinks that it’s amazing that Steven could dance with the Gems at all, saying that she has always wanted to go to a dance, but was scared that everyone would be staring at her.
Steven says that no one is staring right now, Steven obviously staring, and Connie makes this point as well. Steven, having inherited his father’s abilities of being smooth like butter, takes out his phone, plays a song, covers his eyes with his arm, holds out his hand, and asks Connie to dance with him.
The two then begin dancing with each other, each blushing but having a good time nonetheless. Steven slips, but Connie catches him like she was dipping him and the two laugh while being enveloped by a pink glow.
In the two kids place, there is an older looking person, with the features of both Steven and Connie.
The two have fused, and they are elated and immediately go to tell the Gems.
All three Gems are surprised that Steven and Connie fused, with Pearl thinking it’s unusual, Amethyst thinking it’s awesome and comes up with the name Stevonnie for the fusion, while Garnet looks giddy.
Pearl suggest that the two unfuse, and Stevonnie makes the point that the Gems were trying to teach Steven how to fuse, and that they thought that the Gems would be proud of him.
Pearl, very unsure of how to deal with the situation, asks Garnet for assistance. Garnet then gives the advice that Stevonnie is no longer two people, or one person, but rather an experience. She then says that Stevonnie should make it a good experience, and Garnet tells them to go have fun.
And Stevonnie goes up for that, running around, cliff diving into the water, and overall having a good time. Their stomach rumbles and they decide to go to the Big Donut, where Lars and Sadie are immediately smitten with them.
When Stevonnie tries to pay for their two donuts, Sadie says that they are on the house, and Stevonnie remarks that it isn’t a good business practice in doing things like that.
Stevonnie finds a bench and is happy to share the two donuts with…themselves. The realization that Stevonnie isn’t just Steven and Conie hanging out seems to dawn on them, and there is a short conversation that goes on that is one part of the fusion, presumably Steven, asking Connie if she is ok, and that they can stop if she wants, but Connie says that it’s fine.
Stevonnie begins to eat their donuts when they are approached by Sour Cream, who is also smitten, who invites Stevonnie to go a rave that he is DJ-ing, and Stevonnie accepts.
When they arrive at the rave, it seems to be small affair with a few people around, including a guy who doesn’t look like he’s having fun. I don’t blame him since he is next to Ronaldo.
Stevonnie takes to the dance floor and proceeds to murder everyone with their amazing dance skills. When they are finished dancing, they realize that they are being stared at, which ignites Connie’s original fear which was set up earlier.
Stevonnie has a panic attack, and is approached by the guy from earlier, Kevin. Kevin dances to get Stevonnie’s attention, but Stevonnie runs away to get some space.
Stevonnie remarks that they wish that they could be separate and together, but in the fusion they are together, but alone in a way.
Kevin comes back, affirming his status as a scumbag by continuing to try and get Stevonnie to dance even though they said no multiple times and calling the other people at the rave garbage people.
Stevonnie angrily relents, dragging Kevin to the dance floor and dances violently, freaking Kevin out a bit, and then finally defusing back into Steven and Connie.
Kevin remarks how Stevonnie was two kids and bails, while Steven and Connie look at each other and start laughing.
While Sour Cream throws glowsticks everywhere, no idea what’s going on probably, Steven and Connie start dancing, ending the episode.
Discussion
Ohhh boy, this episode can be some tricky territory to deal with.
Let’s start with the easiest thing, and that’s the metaphor for puberty.
Stevonnie, while primarily using they/them pronouns, is seen by several characters as being coded female, and this is the perspective of a straight male talking here, so no complaining.
The way that Stevonnie acts is very much akin to how most teenagers, regardless of gender, feels when going through puberty. Your body changes, people seem to look at you different, and there are some people that approach you that you are not entirely comfortable with.
There are times when you can rock the scene, like when Stevonnie was at the Big Donut. Stevonnie was very clearly confident in themselves, giving a pretty confident remark about how giving free donuts is a bad business practice. It could be that Connie borrowed some of Steven’s boundless confidence to do something that she has always wanted to do.
However there are other times when you can break down because when you get older, anxiety hits you like a freight train filled with tons of bricks, like the panic attack at the rave.
It is a very awkward time in everyone’s lives and one that most people wouldn’t want to reexperience, I would think, but it is one that pretty much anyone who has gone through puberty can expect and relate to.
This aspect is one that isn’t seen often in television, let alone an animated program that is primarily aimed towards children. I can respect the creators in taking that approach to Stevonnie.
Another thing that I must give major props for is the importance of consent.
There were two scenes that showed this, the scene with the donuts and the whole Kevin scene.
The way I interpret the donut scene is Steven asking Connie if she was comfortable being a fusion, to which Connie replies that she is. Fusion, again while not technically being sex, is still a very intimate thing for anyone.
Combining your entire being with another being is something that no human had experienced before, and the fact that Steven can do it and did it with his best friend/potential love interest can be an allusion to two young teens going out on their first real date.
It is fun at first, but when things get more intimate, Steven, being the very considerate person that he is, can tell that Connie isn’t completely comfortable with the situation and gives Connie the opportunity to stop.
Connie, while enjoying being with Steven as a fusion and pushes on with it, would much rather be with Steven while they are separated, and honestly, I can’t blame Connie.
Trusting someone with literally everything that you are is a huge deal, and these two are still preteens (technically), so they don’t really understand all the things that they are feeling.
I know I didn’t when I was their age.
Steven throughout the entirety was considerate of Connie’s feelings, but you know who wasn’t?
Kevin.
The exchange between Kevin shows the darker side of growing up, that there are assholes out there who only see beautiful people as a conquest, or a way to show off to others. They aren’t considerate to how the other person feels, and this was clearly shown when Stevonnie refused Kevin’s invitation to dance several times, and he persisted.
Kevin was immediately vilified because he wasn’t being respectful to Stevonnie having a panic attack, which by the way was a very wonderful bit of visual storytelling, showing how it feels to have a panic attack, kudos.
More kudos should also go a pair of people I haven’t mention, Aivi and Surrashu, the musical duo behind the music for the show.
The track “Alone Together” is one of my favorites in the entire series, and that is because how sweet it sounds. It perfectly encapsulates Steven and Connie’s relationship, and I would have it as my ringtone if it didn’t bring up some personal stuff I’m dealing with (long story).
The only thing I haven’t touched on yet is the Gems, whose reactions were what would be expected of them, with the exception of Garnet.
This was one of biggest pieces if evidence for Garnet being a fusion, because this had Garnet being excited for a fusion, and especially the line where Amethyst mentions that fusion is hard for Gems and Garnet responds with “Not for me.”
Looking at older posts and theories on the matter, this was a huge log for the Garnet being a fusion theory, but its was still only one line of dialogue and could be extrapolated in a dozen different ways.
Of course, now we know Garnet is a fusion, and I find it to be fun when I show the series to new people where the idea that Garnet is a fusion starts to become more concrete when this episode pops up.
This episode dealt with a wide variety of topics, but was also enjoyable to see Steven and Connie be together while not being together in a relationship per se. Love takes time and so on.
Until next time, thanks for reading and have a pleasant time.
Peace.

Name: you must be a level 50 friend to unlock my name Nickname: none. don’t refer to me. don’t talk about me. don’t look at me. (i got that avatar of the void persona going on, pal.) Age: 21 Faceclaim: none. I don’t have a face. Pronouns: they/them or she/her Height: 5′5″ Birthday: [redacted] Aesthetic: Purple, owls, soft surrealism, tree houses, beloved dragons, faded gods, big teeth, elves (i have an aesthetic blog actually @past-tents) Last song you listened to: I was listening to the Moana soundtrack before getting online; not sure which song played last, though. I think it was one of the instrumentals.
Favourite muse(s) you’ve written: How could you ask me to choose between my children Actually, Vineme (@gladioluscaptation) is a terrible and disgusting person, but also very interesting to write. And fun, usually, though there are times when she goes off the rails and gets to be too much even for me. She’s got a lot of stuff going on under the surface, mentally. I kind of wish someone could force her to get serious and face some of that, but at the same time, it’s absolutely antithetical to who she is. (I could write tons of Vineme meta, tbh, but I vastly prefer letting things come out in character than talking about them ooc.)
Of course I also have great love for Mirrak (@theislandtrolls) considering that she was basically my only/primary muse for like a year.
What inspired you to take on your current muse (that you are posting this on): I just? love?? Hawke???? People bash DA2 a lot, but it was the first Dragon Age game and really the first heavily story/character-based game I played, and I love it. It has plot holes you could drive a truck through, but that just makes me want to write my own versions, tbh. (@Bioware hire me to single-handedly remake DA2 I will do it with love)
What are your favourite aspects of your current muse: Honestly one of the things I’ve been enjoying in RP is how Hawke can go from goofing around to very serious in an instant. Like, one minute it’s joke joke goof, the next it’s “and I’ve watched hundreds of people die, their deaths still weighing on my conscience because I couldn’t save them.” Chill, Hawke.
Also, it’s fun to play a muse whose setting and therefore worldview is so dramatically different than most of the other muses they interact with. I haven’t run into a lot of other characters who hail from medieval worlds where violence, xenophobia, and prejudice are so rampant and widely accepted. (I mean, Alternia is like that but it’s ... different. I guess because Alternia doesn’t really have a front of polite society? Like, most troll muses understand that their world is hyperviolent and unpleasant, whereas Hawke sees Thedas as normal and has nothing to compare it to.) Like, one of the interesting moments early in this blog was when Nadir got really angry at Hawke for calling him a demon, a slur in his context, and kept accusing Hawke of bigotry. Hawke was just baffled because Thedas hasn’t really gotten to the point of “hey bigotry and prejudice are bad” yet; they’re just accepted parts of life, often even encouraged. This is not to say that Hawke supports bigotry, just that they didn’t have the context to take that accusation seriously in a modern sense. I’m trying to come up with an analogy but none are working too well ... I guess it’s a bit like if you told someone back in the 20′s or whatever, before people really realized/believed that tobacco was harmful, that they needed to stop smoking?
(Bonus fun fact: Hawke is actually the most well-adjusted, emotionally healthy, and socially adequate muse I have, which is .... something.)
What’s your biggest inspiration when it comes to writing: ????? I just don’t know how to shut up. (Honestly I wrote something about displacing my feelings + wish fulfillment but then I remembered that I have some seriously creepy muses and like .......... nah.)
Favourite types of threads: I love? everything?? I do enjoy threads that explore the world a character lives in, whether through them telling someone else or through the other character physically hanging out with them. (It does get tricky, though ... I mostly notice it with my Mass Effect OC’s since they’re supposed to be experts who could definitely explain all their tech and history and I’m over here like “I don’t?? know???? please stop asking me how mass relays work I don’t know I love Mass Effect but the science has never made sense to me.”) I also love threads where, like, characters talk out their feelings? (Pro tip: ask Hawke about their insomnia and/or nightmares sometime.) For Hawke I would love to have them talk about their companions more, but I feel like it’d be weird for them to just start giving strangers full bios and descriptions of their relationships. Also, light banter threads are really fun, and I have to say that this (Hawke arguing with @revasem Fenris purely through dog gifs) is probably one of my favorite threads from this blog; I think about it like every day.
Biggest struggle in regards to your current muse: I’m used to RPing Homestuck, and since Homestuck has a canonical concept of multiple universes/timelines, it’s very easy to explain duplicates, discrepancies in canon/headcanon, etc. It’s been kind of difficult to handle that stuff with a muse who not only doesn’t have that concept but whose religion and worldview actively deny it. (”As there is but one life, one death, one world ...”) Honestly I would love to do more in-person threads and whatnot but my ability to do so is kind of limited by the fact that Hawke continues to suspect that everything out of the ordinary is demonic or otherwise harmful -- which is completely normal from their perspective! It’s funny watching people be like “wow you’re paranoid” when Hawke has actually been far more open to the otherworldly than they probably should be, given their belief system and the Thedan/Andrastian worldview of “demons are trying to tempt us all the time.” And, like, even if you manage to convince Hawke, a character like Nadir or Acer who looks obviously nonhuman can’t just walk around Kirkwall without inciting panic and templar attention.
Tagged by: @defectivetaurus Tagging: ?????????? do it or don’t do it as you prefer but uhhh @unemused @jesuitic-thanatoid @technologysavvy @themindfang @revasem
