Not that I think anyone is waiting for any updates
But I did manage to get a hold of my parents to communicate the problem at their house. And they recommended someone to call. And then told me he'd call me. And then after going back and forth with if I should or shouldn't call him anyways in case I misunderstood the instructions I decided on a compromise of texting him. Which he replied by saying he'd call me when he was done with whatever he was doing and that was approx 2 hours ago
I have spent 6ish hours now just sitting and waiting because how could I possibly do anything when there are people who need to contact me. And I am so so tired
#i am so surprised my parents are not asking for updates#i cant tell if this is because they trust i will handle it and speedily which is bold of them as theyve known me for 30 years and i am bad#at taking initiative because i screw it up all the time so why bother#or if they think the guy/friend they spoke with would speedily handle it so why bother#or if they just dont care which is u likely but if they dont care why do i ya know#i know they cant DO anything but i desperately need directions#because i can not tell when one thing is a flop and i need to pivot#and i wouldnt even know how to pivot with this#screams#i wanna go home and take a nap in my own fucking bed

Together with you
Chapter 3: We are your friends, you can count on us too!
Summary: What if, on chapter 271/272 of the manga where Saiki removes his left hairpin device. The device that once removed... people of the world will know of his psychic ability. And what if, when he removes that device, it did really shows all over the world about Saiki being a psychic user? And that shocked even Kuusuke because he thought he de-activated it a long time ago. I want to start the story from that point on.
And by the way, this is a SaiTeru fanfic so what I'm saying is... the story will focus on both of them. We will see what their relationship goes. I'll stick to the manga's story as much as possible but of course, all scene will not be exactly as what the manga/anime goes.
Warning: And also, spoilers for those who's just starting to read the manga or watching anime. If you just started and saw this story because you ship Saiki and Teruhashi then you'll be spoiled. Just a warning for you guys but, if you don't care about spoilers... then go ahead and read this story of mine.
Disclaimer: All characters are not mine they belong to Asou Shuuichi-Sensei.

Chapter 3: We are your friends, you can count on us too!
Eyes widening in shock seeing Saiki o-so-sudden, she stuttered “S-Sa-Saiki-kun”
E… I didn't expect to see Saiki-kun so fast. Oh my God! How do I look?? Ah… seriously…
Bewildered at the sudden appearance of the certain guy she really and badly wants to see. Her thoughts are running wild.
While Teruhashi was busy with her thoughts alone, Saiki mused.
Yare, yare! Placing his hands on his hips as he glowered tiredly. He glances at her Mom signaling her to go on and he’ll talk to Teruhashi alone.
Her Mom obliges silently as she excuses herself.
“I'll go to the kitchen for a while, I’ll leave you to youngster alone.” Tapping Teruhashi”s shoulder that made her half-shrug as it registers to her slowly what Kurumi uttered.
“Ah! Yes, sure Auntie. If you need help let me know!” Teruhashi smiled awkwardly.
Kurumi shaking her head in disapproval “No need Kokomi-chan, you need to talk to Ku-chan, right? I can handle it alone.” She said that made the pretty girl beside her blush madly.
A sudden discomfort enveloping the pretty girl as she complies “Y-yes Auntie.”
By that, Kurumi walk-out leaving the two behind. Once Kurumi is nowhere in sight Saiki gestures for her to follow him and Teruhashi oblige obediently although she was nervous as heck.
This is it… I’m alone with Saiki-kun, this is the time for Offu- Slapping her face, Iya… No, no, no, What the heck are you thinking Kokomi? this is not the time for offu, I need to speak with Saiki-kun
mumbling to herself without realizing that the guy in her thought knows what she was thinking.
Sighing in grief. Yare, yare… this is troublesome. How can I make her believe that I’m just a normal guy? So she can leave!
Is what running in his thought.
Both were uneasy about their thoughts as they arrive at Saiki's room, he let Teruhashi walks in first.
I’m at Saiki-kun's room. Just the two of us! Oh! My God… am I blushing? No, no I shouldn’t blush… Relax Kokomi, you need to calm
Arguing to herself as she struggles to calm down and Saiki, on the other hand, was starting to get annoyed.
Yare, yare… how can we even talk if she’s busy complaining about herself? And what the hecks with offu? I’m not saying it. I should just make her leave! I don’t even know what to say!
Saiki was also uneasy to make the move. However, he gestures to Teruhashi that brought her back to reality to sit on the bed as he sat on his armchair facing her.
Teruhashi was fidgeting for a moment, thinking of ways to start the conversation, because the psychic himself was just staring boringly at her with his signature dead-pan expression which unsettled her.
What’s with him? I cannot believe this! we’re just alone and he’s not doing anything….
After realizing what she thought. She felt chills run down her spine as her face reddens at her thoughts and making more excuses for herself.
Wah… wah… what am I thinking?? What I meant was, he should talk to me first. Yes, that’s what I mean. Don’t get me wrong!
Arguing with her inner thought without even knowing that the guy in front of her can read her mind.
Sighing in frustration How can we even start if she’s like that. Yare, yare
Okay, Kokomi relax.
taking a deep breath she glances at Saiki. Heart racing speedily “Saiki-kun” she called and Saiki stared at her with his dead-pan expression.
“I-I’m here to ask… no to confirm somethin-“
Is it about the news?
he cut of Teruhashi and finish what she’s about to say.
She was taken by surprise at how he just said the words she was having a hard time letting out. She coughs to ease the situation as she composed herself. Taking a deep breath, and stared at Saiki.
Nodding in agreement “Yes, that’s it. I mean, I… no! we want to confirm it to you… we’ll believe at whatever you’ll say!” grasping her hands tightly and her heart was beating fast as she waits for his answer.
Then what if, that rumor was true? What if, I am a psychic. What will you do?
Asking in commandment which Teruhashi was taken aback.
Silence took over her, she opens her mouth to answer but no words were heard.
This … how should I answer that? I don’t want it to be true but… but…
While she’s busy with her thoughts alone unbeknownst to her, the psychic was also troubled at what she was thinking but, of course, being a tsundere himself his denying the thoughts.
As I thought, of course, who would want a person like me! I'm not normal.
Lowering his head as his eyebrows furrowed, without his knowledge, he felt sad no he felt troubled. He was feeling sad but because of his nature, that feeling is unfamiliar to him. He shrugs it off and began to sigh in dismay as he grins.
Yare, yare! What’s with these uneasy feelings?
Annoyed at the unknown feeling he had. He chuckled at how ridiculous he looks right now and started to ruffled his hair in dismayed. He began to look back at Teruhashi to check on her again and to explain that it was just a hypothesis without any meaning so he can cast her out of his house. But, unexpectedly, the thought that lingering on the bishoujo's mind bewildered Saiki that he was stunned in silence as he stared dumbfounded at her.
No. Kokomi don’t be scared. It was just a what-if question. Then if he really was a psychic? What should I do in this kind of situation? Should I be afraid, scared? No. I shouldn’t judge him base on that fact. I mean he’s not that bad, right? If he was a bad guy, an enemy of mankind then, at this moment on I’m sure this is not how our lives exist?”
The thought alone was enough to that make Saiki stunned. He was shocked that his mouth was slightly agape.
I should ask him again… whatever it takes, I’m here to comport him not to judge him. I need to compose myself. Whatever his answer will be… I will be okay and I’ll wait for an explanation. I’m sure there is one.
While the pretty girl in their class was busy with her thoughts. The psychic on the other hand was grinning to himself as he watched the troubled girl in front of him.
Yare, yare… I should come clean! Whatever, I was ready to be known by everyone when I took of this device, including them. I should tell them!
sighing in contentment. He was now ready to face them… and her. This moment on, he was ready to speak the truth. Whether or not they'll accept him. But deep within his heart he really wants them to accept him.
When he was about to talk to her by a telepathic, Teruhashi spoke first as she called him.
“Saiki-kun” she called staring at Saiki's eyes with a determined expression.
While Saiki wore his deadpan expression as he watches her.
This is it, inhale and exhale kokomi. boosting her self-esteem. Clenching the fabric of her uniform to calm her nerves.
“What… wh- I mean” she stumbled upon saying her first words. Feeling embarrass. She took a deep breath and sighed. “You said earlier that, what if you are a psychic; is that really true or are you just-“
I’m a PSYCHIC
Without wasting any more seconds he blurted out telepathically to the girl in front of him. He didn’t even finish what she’s about to say, and so the bishoujo was statically rendered speechless, with her eyes wide open, mouth agape and even her mind was silent or just saying WA WA WA at the moment, and that made the psychic grin at her reaction.
What the… did… Saiki-kun… did I hear it right?
Staring at the pink-headed boy for another confirmation.
I’m a Psyc-
This time, it was Teruhashi who didn’t let him finished, as she was panicking internally. And convincing herself she heard it all wrong.
No, no, no… this is not true what the… I mean, Saiki-kun is a Psyc… NOOOOO
Facing down, she covered her whole face with both of her hands as she shook her head madly.
Is it? Sa-Saiki-kun? P-p-p-psychic??? NOOOOO, what… Kokomi get a grief!
Slowly opening some of her fingers that hiding her finger to glance at the pink-headed boy; checking his face confirming something. But as soon as she saw his face. Her cheeks took a dip shade of red.
Wa… why am I getting flustered?? This is not the time to admire. Gosh!
The perfectionist pretty girl was having a hard time organizing her mind that the psychic himself is getting amused to it.
Sighing to himself, Yare, yare this girl is too troublesome!
Groaning unsatisfied but the truth is, he was having a good time seeing a flustered Teruhashi although, he saw it gazillion times already so he was immune to it. Nevertheless, this is the first for the girl in front of him.
He suddenly had the urge to teased the girl more. Grinning at his selfish whims rather, his amusement.
Are you done with your thought?
Asking the blunette o-so-sudden that she shrug upon hearing his voice. Correction through the telepathic way.
Still organizing herself, fixing her hair as she eyed the psychic suspiciously. She coughs to ease the mood
“ehem…” “You said earlier that you’re a psychic? How can you—”
How can I prove it to you… is what you want to say, right?
Again, for the second time, the perfectionist pretty girl was stunned in silence. Mouth agape, confused, bewildered and when it dawned on her what Saiki stated. She jumped on his bed, shock written all over her face with a feeling of mix emotion. Struggling to find her words to respond to him, she breathes slowly to muster some courage to speak while pointing her finger unto him.
“Y-you…” with shaking voice. “Yo-you can read my mind?” eyes wide open and guarding herself in case of something as she stared at Saiki anxiously.
Sighing for the umpteenth time, Yare, yare how troublesome! He thought for the moment as he cast his head down.
You were the one who wants me to confess, right? As I said I’m a psychic, I’m not a normal human being like you guys.
He groaled for some reason as he started to look back at her just to see how anxious the girl was and how her thought was running through her mind. Again, he felt that nasty feeling he had a while ago. His hands tightened into a fist.
Tsk… he moaned grumpily. He jumped out on his seat grumpily as he rammed his hair out of annoyance.
Meanwhile, Teruhashi stiffened at his sudden movement. She began to tighten her hold on the blanket. But, when, she got a glimpse of how he looks; she quickly softened and felt dismayed at her sudden approach to the situation, she promised herself that whatever she'll hear from the psychic himself she will never change the fact that he was a good guy.
But looking at her now, staring at the bedsheet with a disappointed look, and reflecting on how she acts in front of him. She places her hands on the fabric of her uniform near her beating heart. Again, she glances at the discomfort psychic to check on him and to also said something to erase the unwanted air roaming at the room.
Inhaling and exhaling, she called the pinkish head boy. “Sa-Saiki-kun”
Peeking at her halfhearted You don’t need to stress about it. I mean… I was expecting that kind of reaction.
As soon as that escape from him, the girl’s eyes went wide… listening carefully at what he was about to say.
As what your mind is telling, yes. I’m a bad guy, I have the means to control everyone with just a snap. Even now, if I wanted to… I can erase your memory of what happened this instant. And you will never know, even if you turn grey. I can read your thoughts loud and clear and I say… your reaction is what I’m expectin—
Slamming her hands on the bed, “Yes, you’re right! I was scared! I was really scared when I’ve learned about you over the internet, news or whatever… but still, I don’t want to believe a second of it unless you’re the one to clarify it.”
And yet, I did clarify it. But your reaction is splendid. You even thought I was a monster….
Clenching the bedsheet tightly “Of course, what do you want me to think? Who in their right mind would think that a psychic even exist? I’m just a normal human being. And as you said earlier, my reaction was what you’re expecting… how do you want me to react then? Ne Saiki-kun…”
With their exchange words… Teruhashi felt even worse to herself at how stupid she was acting and how confused she was as well. And now, she was sobbing nonstop. She was fighting not to let it out a while ago but, she was hurt that she can’t help but to let it all out.
On the other hand, the psychic felt uneasy as soon as he saw her crying. He felt tense, he didn’t even know nor have a clue on what to do as he was unfamiliar with that kind of thing. So, he let her do her thing and wait till she calms down, he sat on his armchair again scratching his cheeks out of discomfort.
And as soon as Teruhashi calms down, she darted her eyes at the guy in front to face him for another confrontation.
Sniffing “I-… I want to apologize for my earlier assumption towards you!” she said to the young psychic that made his face snorted.
“Really… I’m at wrong to judge you but hey… at the very end of it, I’m just a normal human…”
Actually, your not! He blurted out that made the pretty girl eyed him suspiciously.
Groaning tiredly, I mean… you can order all your admirer. But, Not me. All you want without expecting or some of them were expecting from you in return. He explained further.
Teruhashi only stared at him with confusion until she realized what he meant. At that, she boasted from laughter. Now the tears streaming down her face were not because of irritation or sadness but pure happiness and surprise.
Eyebrows furrowed in confusion, confused as to why she was laughing. Because, to Saiki, he is sure that he didn’t add some jokes on his remarks so, seeing her laugh like that was confusing to him.
Teruhashi who’s laughing nonstop was now pressing her hand over her stomach while the other was wiping her happy tears.
Saiki was just staring dumbfounded at her. And now, Teruhashi took a deep breath but her laughter was still visible enough that she can now speak normally again. She stared at her classmate and for the last time chuckled which the latter raised an eyebrow at how confused he was.
“Okay, okay, this is quite embarrassing.” Wiping her tears, “Now that I realize it more… you mentioned you can read my mind?” he quickly nods as he waited for her to finished her words this time.
“T-then… you know all my thoughts. I mean, running through my mind all this time?”
Saiki nodding at her, while Teruhashi is flustered and some pinkish hues appearing on her cheeks up to her ears.
“Then…” gulping nervously while playing with her index fingers “Then… you probably already know what… I mean, you know my feelings,—”
No, you got it wrong! He blurted out that made the girl flinch.
“What do you mean by I got it wrong?” she asked the psychic.
Well, this is the right time to tell her that misunderstanding. Since she knows now that I’m a psychic? That way, her feelings for me will vanish!
Nodding approvingly at his plan he looks back at pretty girl adored by God.
You remember the time when… I should say, August 6
At the mention of that unforgettable moment for her, her body stiffened her heart was beating fast as she waited what exactly was what he wants to convey.
That day, We did meet. I was walking down the street when you suddenly approach me. I was doing my very best to avoid you no matter. And also because I don’t want to be exposed to a lot of people who greatly admires you, and so being noticed by you will beat the purpose of it. But, you’re persistent. And so suddenly, I saw Nendou from the corner of my eyes and I got tensed because if a second party is involved then that means… you can easily say we did meet and all that and so, once I saw Nendou and before he notices me or us together at that time I teleported myself that instant. And I was really shocked when you thought that you like me… that’s why you thought you were hallucinating me.
Once he was done explaining, random thoughts were running through Teruhashi's mind. Forgetting that her companion can read minds.
You know I can read your mind, right?
Startled yet again, she flinches at the sudden voice from him.
Stumbling through her words as she says. “O-oh yeah. I forgot! Seriously this is embarrassing…
As soon as that escape her mind. Saiki rose from his seat and walk over to his drawer to get something, she was just staring and also at the same time admiring the guy and because of her day-dreaming, she didn’t notice Saiki was walking towards her.
Here take this…
Raising his arm to Teruhashi's eye level as he handed over something to her and she took it. Raising her eyebrows in curiosity as she looks at what he gave to her.
As soon as she saw it… her eyes glitter as she was now blushing madly…
A… a ring?? Saiki gave me a—
Before she manages to finish her words Saiki corrected her before she took it the wrong way.
Don’t get your hopes up! That ring, wear it so I won’t be able to read your mind.
He said nonchalantly which the pretty girl sighed in dismay.
“Oh! Sure” she stared at it first, asking herself if that small thing can hide her thoughts from the psychic accompanying her.
Yare, yare… Saiki thought for a while.
That’s a germanium ring… at that, Teruhashi looked at him attentively.
Wear that, if your feeling uneasy about me reading your thoughts all the time. Even though I can’t help it… then wear the ring.
He explained. And without any thought, she wore it on her index finger feeling some butterfly on her stomach as she stared on the germanium ring that Saiki owned admiringly. Giggling to herself, and by that, a certain psychic felt shivers run down his spines and wondering what nonsense thoughts are lingering on her mind.
Thus, Teruhashi tried if the ring he gave is working. Eyeing suspiciously at her companion.
Okay then, let see… rubbing her chin. Shutting her eyes close I love you Saiki-kun blushing madly, slowly opening her left eye to check on Saiki’s expression, and as soon as she saw him; his expression still didn’t change. He still wore that bored look on his face.
To Saiki's case, he was having a withdrawal if he should really give that thing to the most troublesome woman he knows. And also, looking back at her, as soon as she wore the ring he saw how she was rather acting strange. It was making him uneasy. Moreover, her face was now in a dip shade of red.
The heck is she thinking this time? I hope it's not something so troublesome. Yare, yare… sighing tiredly.
he’s not answering me? did that work? He really can’t read my mind? What if… his just taking advantag- No, no, no Kokomi Saiki is nothing like that! Erase that thought. Shu shu… for now, I’ll believe in him.
Again, arguing with herself as Saiki was just staring at her dumbfounded.
Yare, yare… sighing tiredly
So… what else do you want to know? He asked which brought her back to reality.
Stunned for a moment. She took a deep breath and composed herself.
“Then… now that I confirm with myself that you really are what the news is saying then… we need to device a plan so that, we can… I mean, you can avoid this situation!” rubbing her chin as she thinks of a plan to help Saiki.
Starring at her with his bored look he asked, Then how can you help me?
Taken aback, she tilted her head to think of something. “I’m not really sure myself since… I went here believing or wishing that all the news spreading on the internet was fake.” Bowing her head apologetically. “I’m sorry Saiki-kun, but…”
Bending over Saiki's bed as she slammed her hands on his bedsheet that startled the psychic.
“If you’ll let us… we can help you by all means. We’re not capable of helping you with how you help us but, if you…”
At that moment Teruhashi went silent. A sudden realization hoards her mind at the word help, she suddenly remembers all the times that somehow made their life a living hell if Saiki didn’t save them. An example of that, on their school trip, when they can’t go to Okinawa because it was raining hard. Second, when they were inside the plane and suddenly went wrong, lastly when she was about to be attacked by a giant bear and all this time she thought that it was just a dream. She realized then, all of those were because Saiki saves them and her from danger. And another thought of tragedy surges her mind, and that event was when Saiko's shipwrecks and they got stranded by an unknown island. They were safe because Saiki was with them and he was helping silently without asking anything in return. There is still good deed that Saiki manages to do for them. And that alone, made her disgust at herself thinking badly of him a while ago.
Slowly, tears are flowing in her beautiful blue eyes. And Saiki got startled at her sudden action. Again, he felt discomfort not knowing what to do in this awkward situation.
Why are you crying? Asking the girl timidly.
Teruhashi, on the other hand, wipes her tears away and looks at Saiki as she smiled at him warmly and genuinely.
“I was thinking… you said earlier you were a bad guy and all but, now that I’ve realized it… you’re not! Not an enemy of mankind, not a monster and all bad things I’ve thought of you a while ago. Again, I’m really sorry about that Saiki-kun.” Bowing her head apologetically to the psychic as he stared at her with his deadpan expression but he was confused since he can’t read her mind. He was anxious to know what is running through her mind right now and why is she acting so strange?
He wanted to know that answer but doesn’t want to ask… he saw her change stance, now with her feet touching on the floor, seating properly again as she held her hands tightly placing it on her lap.
Smiling at him. “Thank you Saiki-kun, you save us a bunch of times already” again, bowing her head but this time not to ask for forgiveness but to thank him whole-heartedly for the good deeds he showed them without their knowledge at the time.
What are you saying? Asking the bishoujo because he was really confused and unsettled at how she was behaving.
“You save us multiple times already. Remember that school trip? A lot happened back then. Also, most especially the shipwreck. Because you were there—”
Oh, that! Well, particularly it was my fault. All of it! He said as a matter of fact.
Teruhashi tilted her head out of confusion to what he said.
“What do you mean?” asked bewildered.
Scratching his chin. Well, particularly, It was mine but also your fault as well.
With that, the pretty girl got more confused.
“What!!!!” she grimaced.
You took of this device. Pointing at his device. You see when you pulled this out tragedy may occur. When that giant bear nearly attacks you… you got in that place because you took off my controlling device. I was the one who teleports you in that place without my knowledge. And about the shipwreck… well, it seems you get the geese now hah?
He explained neatly as possible so she can understand him and to not cause any more misunderstanding.
While hearing all that explanation she swallowed hard.
Oh, I see!
Is what she can manage to say. Although, now, she understood everything.
“I understand. But still, my feelings won’t change. Even after all that, you still save us. And yet I need to apologize again for the stupidity I've caused. Well, you can't blame me; at that moment I just wanted to help you relax so you can sleep in a much better way. I didn’t know your circumstances back then.” Smiling as if everything is settled now.
“Look Saiki-kun, if you can… we really wanted to help you! Please, let us… let us help you in any way we can.” She pleaded the young psychic with her signature puppy-dog-eyes. Well, that didn’t faze the boy as he was just staring at her with his bored-looking expression. She sighs in defeat.
Sheesh… I really can’t please this guy hah? Should I give up? Sighing to herself as she took a deep breath and waited for his answer.
They still don’t know the thing about me! So how sure are you that they’ll accept me, the true me? He interrogated the girl without any interest in mind what answer she’ll say.
“Saiki-kun, don’t belittle them… if I can accept you… The real you. Then, I’m certain they can too. I mean… we are your friends, right?” smiling warmly at the guy with his eyes slightly wide open.
He grins knowing that what Teruhashi stated was true. He was sure that whatever it takes they will accept him for who he was.
He rose from his seat and walks over to his window, staring blankly at what was outside. While Teruhashi was eyeing his every move. Until Saiki spoke again of course in a telepathic way. She was attentively listening to whatever he was about to say.
Yare, yare. Then… do whatever you all want! You all are troublesome anyway!
Still staring at the window absentmindedly as a grin appeared on his face. He was feeling satisfied as of now and for some reason, was it because of her? Well, he is a tsundere so basically, he doesn’t want to admit that even for himself. For now.
Meanwhile, Teruhashi giggled at the thought she succeeded at persuading Saiki and can give good news for everyone tomorrow as school starts. They need to establish a plan to help Saiki be just a normal human being again for the others so they can still hang out with him and knowing him fully well; aside from him being a psychic.
Still giggling. She also rose from the bed and walks over where Saiki is, she steps beside him and also looks over the window.
“Yeah, leave it to us!” She excitedly exclaimed which the latter grins as a response. Glancing at him made Teruhashi blush and she felt good at the moment and wishing that this day will never end.
Again, she tried to talk to him through her mind because she knows very well that he can’t hear her. She looks back at the window and smiled with satisfaction.
I love you Kusuo.

@shizuu-chann Here's part 3 of my VarricxInquisitor fic ^^
I'll sort a server soon and then invite you x
~~☆
Varric was hunched over, writing notes for ideas and conversations he had with his characters. He had also began writing about the Inquisition, being somewhat inspired by the chaos of Bubbles and how they had been a hero three times now.
The Inquisitor was off somewhere, with the Iron Bull, Dorian and Cole. Bubbles could stay at a place for weeks, travelling across that region to do all sorts of tasks. They were ambitious to help those in need but oddly only dealt with rifts if it was on their way to their objective. Varric theorised that Bubbles was afraid of them, with everything going on he couldn't blame them.
When the horns blew a certain tune throughout Skyhold, it meant the Inquisitor and their party had returned. Varric couldn't stop the smile on his face from growing, they had been gone for three weeks now and he missed their humourous company. He stood to walk towards the entrance, when the horns also played a smaller tune, meaning the party needed medical help asap. He felt himself speedily walking out the building and down the steps. He spotted the party, Iron Bull carrying Bubbles. At this Varric ran, underneath the stairs to go down more steps. Seeing the healers place Bubbles down on a blanket and checking them.
The Iron Bull spotted the look on Varric's face and smiled to himself. Good for the two of them. He looked down to the Boss, seeing their new open scars and their metal armour practically crumpled. He blamed himself for what happened. The party were fighting a high dragon and he charged at it, being at its feet while swinging away. Cole cleverly had stayed at its rear, attacking its ankles while Dorian used his magic from afar. They all had a tough time with it but the Boss got hurt near the end, badly hurt... The high dragon had flew around and was sky diving towards him when Boss shoved him as hard as they could out of the way. The damn dragon grabbed them and flew, the three chasing after. It landed on a cliff point nearby, dropping the unconscious down to its kids. It continued to fly at them, Dorian managing to finally put it down while he and Cole rushed in to stop its kids from feasting on Boss. Once they defeated the kids, they rushed to the Boss's side, noticing their armour was practically stabbing into them, they were scarred and their leg had been chomped on. Still unconscious. Iron Bull quickly carried the Boss to the nearby camp, while Cole and Dorian gathered the loot. They knew the Inquisitor loved their looting.
At the camp, the scouts and their sole healer did the best they could, stopping the bleeding and just waiting for the Inquisitor to wake up. The Iron Bull watched over their boss, they had done what he did for his chargers. Save them while taking a hit.
"The Iron Bull stood tall as the high dragon flew, I wouldn't lose him today. Running, the shove, a tightening grab, the fall and the hurt. At least they're safe." Cole spoke, "They don't blame us, they were scared for us. Fear of losing people, fear of losing, fear of failing. So much to carry, so many people to carry but he sees me as equal. A friend, my friend, The Iron Bull." Cole sat with him, he didn't know how to respond. Dorian came in eventually too, sitting on the other side of the Iron Bull. His fingers patting Iron Bull's. Eventually Dorian fell asleep, Cole taking a lot longer to sleep which Iron Bull didn't even realise he did. Eventually even he fell asleep.
The Inquisitor would wake up for intervals but would fall back asleep quite quickly. The healer saying how they had lost a lot of blood and although they received a bad sprain, they could travel back to Skyhold with support. So they prepared to travel back to Skyhold, the healer and a few scouts joining them to the end of the region, ensuring their safety. The Iron Bull carried Boss in his arms, Cole watching for any enemies while Dorian would use what little healing magic he had to ensure their friend was comfortable.
Heading up to Skyhold was tricky, the Boss kept waking from the cold, shivering into the Iron Bull. Their wounds had opened again, so Dorian did his best to heal them until reaching Skyhold.
Having heard The Iron Bull's tale, Varric stayed near but not in the way of the healers. He sat, his hand covering his mouth and sometimes combing his hand through his hair. He couldn't stop looking, stop worrying. He had checked the kid as well, he was mostly fine but the healer checked them over, after seeing to the Inquisitor. Varric was the first to enter the tent Bubbles lay in. They were covered in a blanket, their armour to the side. Their face pale and swollen, a new scar across their neck with a bandage covering it to stop the blood. Varric sat near Bubbles head, looking down at them. He was scared but wouldn't admit it. He decided to distract himself with how he would spin this in his novel.
Sometime later, Bubbles woke up, groaning and looking around, eyes stopping on Varric. "Hey, Varric." They said weakly, "I made friends with a high dragon." They laugh before groaning, holding on their lower leg, it had been bitten and Bubbles would have to rest for a few weeks.
Varric smiles at their joke, quickly moving their hand off the leg and holding their hand tightly. "How would you like me to spin this story?" He smirked, distracting himself and Bubbles, who grinned.
They hummed for a minute, "Say we fought courageously, the Iron Bull carrying the team while the rest of us followed his lead. He also shouted something Qun at it, might wanna ask him about it later." They sat up, patting at the bandage around their neck. Bubbles looked intensely at Varric, "Is everyone else alright?"
Varric laughs softly, "You're beaten to a pulp, almost eaten by baby high dragons and you ask how everyone else is?" He shakes his head, they really were his Hawke. "They're fine, few scrapes but mostly worried about you." They sighed in relief, looking at the hand Varric was holding still and back up to him.
They slowly grin, a blush growing on their bruised cheeks, "You too?"
"Shit, of course I'd be." Varric admitted, "Can't have the hero of my next book dying by high dragon babies. It's not realistic enough for a hero's tale."
The cough, pulling their hand to cover their mouth, their eyes showing shock. "Not realistic? What's realistic to you?"
Varric laughs, "Fighting at least three fully grown high dragons, then their Mother. Surviving and bringing their heads back as trophies." He smirks at the look on Bubbles face, "That's my first draft idea, thoughts?"
"I'm thinking, next time I'm off to fight a high dragon, I'm taking you with me!" They scoff, "Four high dragons, my ass!" They grumble, making Varric laugh, he was happy to see them still being themselves.
"Wait," Varric realised, "You planned to go and fight the high dragon, didn't tell me and you're actually going to fight another?" He stared.
The sat up and shrugged, "Yeah. It was a surprise for Bull and Dorian, Cole already said stuff about to me in private, thanked me for trusting him to help fight it." They smiled softly, mumbling something 'cute'. Looking back to Varric, "What, didn't Hawke fight a high dragon before?"
"Yes. One. With babies. Not more than one." He shook his head, "No matter how much they begged... No matter how much *you* begged." His eyes narrowed, he smirks, "That's why you didn't take me, cause you thought I'd stop you?"
Bubbles smiles, itching at their nose, "You wouldn't be able to stop me, not with the Iron Bull there." They laugh, "And anyway, you seemed busy when I was gonna ask you, so I didn't bother."
Varric gasps jokingly, "You left me to do paperwork over fighting a high dragon? I'm shocked, Hawke." He laughed before realising his mistake. They blinked at eachother for a moment, before Bubbles laughed and he joined in. It was true so why did he feel guilty? This was Hawke. Well, his written Hawke. Upon hearing shuffling away from the tent, he poked his head out of the tent, and spotted the Seeker quickly walking up the stairs. "Well, shit." He leaned back in, looking to Bubbles. "The seeker heard that, I think." At this, they sat up, looking like they were going to get up. "Hey, you need to rest. I'll handle it." He gently pushed them down, patting at their hand before leaving.
While Varric walked up the steps, he saw the Iron Bull entering Bubbles' tent. He spotted the Seeker at her training dummies and sighed to himself, however this conversation was going to end, it would be awkward and shit.

Let Her Know Love
Parings: Reader x Castiel, Sister!Reader x Dean, Sister!Reader x Sam
Warnings: Angst. Pregnancy. Mentions of Abortion. Death. Language.
Word Count: 4,146
Square Filled: Body Burned on a Pyre
Summary: You are in an established relationship with Castiel. When you get pregnant things don’t work out the way you secretly dreamt they would.
A/N: Here’s another fic for @spnangstbingo - I wanted to post something to celebrate when I got 100 followers but real life happens sometimes and I got delayed. Therefore, I’m posting this to celebrate the fact I now have 189 followers (because round numbers are overrated). This isn’t really a ‘happy celebration’ but rather an ‘angsty celebration’ because that’s the only way I know how to party!
“Hurry up Y/N/N!” you hear Dean shout as you near the bunker’s garage.
“You could wait ten freaking minutes... not everyone can roll out of bed looking like a chiseled Greek God, asshole” you mumble the last part under your breath.
“What was that?” Dean playfully pretends he didn’t hear you.
“I said... screw you and your pretty face, asshole” you repeated yourself a little louder.
Dean just laughs “Every family needs an ugly duckling and, sorry kid, but Sammy and I used up all the pretty before you came along!” Dean joked.
Sam just rolls his eyes as you jump on Dean’s back and trap him in a playful headlock. Dean effortlessly walks over to the driver’s side of Baby, as if you weren’t draped over him. He quirks an eyebrow up at you “You done, kid?” he asks in a bored tone.
You hop off Dean’s back, “I’ll take you down one of these days, old man”.
Dean huffs out a laugh to emphasize his cocky disbelief that you could ever take him. You smack his chest and reach for the handle of Baby’s back door. “Oh sweet, innocent, naive baby sister,” Dean says in a condescending tone “when are you going to learn that you’ll never beat your big br-“
Before Dean could finish his snarky comeback, a large hand wraps around yours preventing you from opening the door and you feel a large frame come up behind you. You freeze in surprise for a moment but you quickly recognize the familiar grasp. You turn around with a wide smile playing on your lips and notice Castiel’s chest is merely inches from your face.
When you look up at the angel, you notice he is not looking at you but over at Dean.
“She will not be going with you,” Cas says to Dean without even acknowledging you.
“Umm… don’t you think SHE gets a say in what SHE does?” You ask trying to sound more annoyed than you actually were. Truthfully, you’d rather spend the night with Cas than with your brothers.
“Relax man, hop in were headed to the bar. You can flirt with Y/N there,” Dean says jokingly as he turns to get in Baby, not recognizing the stern look on the angel’s face, probably because it looks so similar to the typical scowl that is permanently cemented on his face, but you noticed.
Looking into the car window you address your brothers, “It’s okay…. I think I’m just going to stay here,” you glance behind you up at Cas who is staring intently at you “I haven’t been feeling all that well this week and something tells me whiskey won’t make it any better”.
Dean looks over at Cas then back at you, he gives you a knowing smirk “Suit yourself sis, don’t do anything I wouldn’t do,” he says with a wink before he and Sam speedily drive away.
You roll your eyes at the retreating car and turn back to Cas. “So, what’s up? Why didn’t you want to go with them?” you say with slight concern.
“We have to talk,” he says before he touches your forehead and suddenly you’re in your bedroom perched at the end of the bed.
You smirk up at Cas who is standing a few feet in front of you “Cas, if you wanted to be alone tonight, you could have just ask-“
“You’re pregnant” he said abruptly.
You can’t respond. You want to respond but the only thing you can do is gape at the man for an inordinate amount of time.
“Y/N, I said your pre-“
You hold your hands up to block the offending words “I heard you”. You sit silently for another minute “Are you sure?” you ask with slight wonderment.
“I’m sure” he nods. “I can feel it. It’s early but I can feel its grace. Its strength”.
Your hand instinctively traces across your lower abdomen. You would never admit it, to anyone, but as you got older you occasionally thought about what it would be like to be pregnant, to be a mom.
You had also secretly fantasized about what it would be like to tell the father that you were going to be a family. You pictured the instant smile that would spread over his lips. Maybe he would pick you up, spin you around then immediately put you down and vow to be more careful with you now that you have precious cargo on board. However, this isn’t like that. The father is telling you that you’re pregnant. You let out a small laugh because of how abnormal this situation is, yet it fits perfectly with your abnormal life. Looking up at Cas you realize that you wouldn’t have it any other way.
As you continue looking at Cas, the father of your child, your smile only grows wider and wider. “We’re going to have a baby,” you can’t hide the disbelief in your voice but also you could not stifle the overwhelming joy from bubbling out with your words as well.
You stand up and walk toward Castiel wanting that embrace that you secretly dreamt about growing up. “I don’t think you understand” he says as if you’re missing something obvious. “This child, she-“
“SHE?” You ask as your smile gets impossibly wider.
“She… is part angel, a Nephilim,” He says as if that is supposed to change everything.
“Okay… yeah well I kinda figured SHE would be” you say, liking the way the pronoun feels on your tongue. “But she’s ours. I know that you and all the angels used to think all Nephilims were ‘abominations’ but things have changed… you’ve changed. She’s yours. She’s ours,” you say again to try and get him to be a little more excited.
“Y/N, I’m afraid you’re still not understanding… this is not about my past prejudices,” Cas takes a breath “no human woman has ever survived the birth of a Nephilim” he pauses as the words taste poisonous. “If you have this child, you will die”. He reaches out to grasp your cheek.
Your smile fades. You try to hold back your stinging tears but then you look down to your stomach and a small smile creeps its way back onto your lips.
All night Castiel held you. No one spoke. You thought that was because you both understood what was going to happen but the next morning you found out how wrong you were.
You had drifted off to sleep in Castiel’s arms at some point during the night. When you awoke, Cas was staring earnestly at your stomach. You wished you could hear what he heard, feel what he felt because right now you couldn’t feel the little peanut sized creature inside of you, so you envied his connection.
You rubbed his arm to shake him from his thoughts. “Come on, we should go tell the boys”.
“Are you sure you want-“
“It’s better they find out sooner rather than later… you know they’ll just start bitching if they think they were left out of the loop,” you try to say as lightly as possible in an attempt to ease the heavy weight of both your burdened thoughts.
As you make your way to the war room where you hear the faints sounds of bickering brothers, Castiel stays close behind you, never taking is hand off your lower back.
“Hey there love birds, it’s almost noon… long night?” Dean asks with a shit eating grin.
You give him a small smile but decide to not beat around the bush, just like Cas hadn’t the night before. “I’m pregnant,” you blurt out and release a breath you didn’t know you were holding. You look up at Cas “Wow, that is a lot easier doing it that way,” you say with a sense of relief.
When you look back at your brothers they have the same looks on their faces that you imagine you had last night.
Dean’s eyes flicker between you and Cas frantically trying to decide if he should hug or strangle his best friend.
Sam is the first to make a move. He jumps from his chair and barrels over to consume you in a hug that comforts you more than you thought possible. You both then nearly get knocked down when Dean comes over to hug you from behind.
Sam lets go of you as you start laughing. “Dude! Maybe let’s not knock around the pregnant lady!” Sam jokes with a wide smile pulling at his lips.
Dean jumps back as if your skin was fire “Oh shit sorry Y/N/N!”.
You laugh at your brothers, “It’s okay, something tells me she will have to get used to her intrusive and overbearing uncles!”.
In unison Sam and Dean ask “She?” with goofy smiles on their faces.
You just nod and do a little excited skip where you stood.
“Y/N,” you heard the gruff voice from behind you. “Maybe we shouldn’t get them too excited… too attached” he says so sadly that it almost breaks you.
As if the boys had just remembered Cas was there, they bound over and embrace their friend in a congratulatory hug but Cas fails to reciprocate the embrace.
You know you have to tell them but you want to enjoy the excitement for a little longer.
“Y/N, they deserve to know,” Cas reminds you.
The boys look at you expectantly and you take a deep breath. “This baby, your niece,” you remind them “will be a Nephilim”.
“Y/N/N we don’t care… you know we will love this kid no matter what” Sam quickly reassures you.
“I know. I know that… I really do…. That’s why it’s so easy for me to make this choice… because I know she will have a father and uncles that will love her and protect her. You guys will raise her to be good. Raise her to be humane even if she’s not totally human”.
“What are you-“ Dean hesitantly asks.
“No woman has ever survived the birth of a Nephilim … remember?” you try to say as softly as possible. However, you watch both of your brothers recoil at your words. Apparently, they had forgotten about that tiny fact just like you had.
Before you can try to comfort the boys, Castiel steps toward you with anger in his eyes “Y/N! What are you talking about? I thought it was understood that you would not have this baby!”.
You look at Cas as if he suddenly grew a third eye. “I’m having this baby! I am having our baby!” You say matter-of-factly leaving no room for negotiation or ambiguity.
“No, you are not! I’m not letting you die! I can’t let you die,” he whispers out the last part in almost a beg.
“It’s my choice, Cas. And I choose her. Between my life or hers, I will always choose her” you state plainly.
Before he can respond, Cas is pulled away from you and thrown against the wall. Dean lays a push to the angel’s jaw making you screech in shock.
“You fucking killed my baby sister” Dean bites out as he raises his fist to take another swing. Cas simply stands there awaiting the abuse he thinks he deserves.
At the same time Sam and you spring toward the men. As Sam grabs Dean’s cocked fist, you step in front of Cas and place a placating hand on Dean chest.
“Stop!” You shout. “Everyone sit the hell down! We’re going to talk this out until everyone accepts the fact that this is going to happen my way!”.
Each of the men in the room freeze in shock, they had never heard you sound so assertive. There was an adamant tone in your voice that implicitly told the men to comply.
They each took a seat at the table. You remained standing but moved in beside Castiel and took his hand. They all looked at you expectantly. You were just as lost and confused as them but there was one thing you were sure of and you had to convince them to accept it as well. So, with confidence in your voice you started by stating the simple facts: “This is going to happen”.
It has only been seven and half months. You thought you would have more time but Nephilims rarely need a full nine months of gestation.
You were walking toward one of the bunker’s spare bedrooms, the one the boys had started converting into a nursery. The pain had woken you up, so you knew today was the day. You walked over to the crib and smiled at the stuffed squirrel and moose propped up against the pillow. No one knew where the two toys came from, as they just appeared one day, but you had a sneaking suspicion a certain accented King of Hell had left them behind.
The pain was building. You should go find someone and let them know what is going on but you couldn’t bring yourself to leave the room. Your baby’s room.
You doubled over gripping the edge of the crib for stabilization. A few minutes later, Sam came walking in carrying four more boxes of diapers to add to the stack that was already in the room. He drops the boxes when he hears your heavy breathing and sees you hunched over and on the floor. Running over to support your weight, Sam tries to calm you down.
“It’s time, Sammy,” you say with a sad smile.
Sam just tightens his jaw and nods as he lifts you off the ground to carry you back to your room. You spare one last glance around the jungle themed space as Sam quickly exits the room. Your baby’s room.
You rested your head on Sam’s chest, enveloping yourself in his warm comfort.
“Jeez kid, I think you gained a few” Sam ties to joke but it comes out with a sad laugh.
You look up at Sam with unshed tears in your eyes, “I don’t want to die,” you whisper so lowly that your words are almost imperceptible. But Sam heard you.
“Y/N-“
“I don’t regret my choice, Sammy. But I want to know her. I want to know who she’ll become. Plus… I… I don’t think Cas has accepted this yet, accepted her yet” you say with hints of fear in your voice.
Before Sam can respond, Cas suddenly appears in front of you. “It’s time” he says with panic in his eyes and distress in his voice.
“Thanks for the update but I don’t need your spidey scenes telling me what my uterus has been screaming at me since I woke up” you try and joke but it does nothing to relieve the tension in his ever-creasing brows.
Sam is hesitant to let you go when you silently gesture to be put down. “I’ll go find Dean” Sam offers when Cas starts to lead you back to your room. You look back to your older brother wanting to apologize for burdening him but the words get lost. So, instead you try to offer him a reassuring smile before turning back around. Sam lingers for a moment watching you waddle down the hallway for what he fears would be the last time.
You lie on the bed and hold Cas’ hand as he refuses to look you in the eye.
“We could still try the grace extraction…it’s not too late. It could save you both” he begs one last time.
“It’s too dangerous. I won’t risk her life on coulds and maybes,” you say softly not wanting to have this same argument again, not when it’s almost time. Another bout of pain pulses through you as your contractions are getting closer and closer together. Castiel places a hand on your forehead but is unable to relieve your pain.
He eyes tighten in frustration as his hand slips from your forehead down to caress your cheek. “I wish I could take away your pain. I wish I could take on your burden. I wish you didn’t-“ but before he could finish you grasp his hand and force him to open his eyes and look at you – to really see you.
“It’ll be over soon. Soon you’ll have someone else to obsessively worry about” you try to joke but it falls flat. “My only regret is that I’ll never get to meet her, to see you become the great father I know you will be – and to see you three goons try and change a diaper for the first time – now that I’d like to see” you say with a genuinely happy smile. “I’m okay with this and you will be too one day”.
Cas just shakes his head, his eyes laced with so much sadness it fills you with creeping dread. “You put too much faith in me, Y/N. Have you not been paying attention the last few years? I break everything I touch. Our daughter needs you, not me”.
“Everything you’ve done, you’ve done with nothing but good intentions. I trust you Castiel. I trust you will love and protect our girl. She will love you more than anything and she will trust you too. Hell, she already starts doing backflips when she hears your voice… that’s why whenever you’re around I’m always running to the bathroom – because the little peanut uses my bladder as a trampoline whenever you’re around,” you reassure him with the truth.
“She needs a name,” Cas says ignoring what you just said.
“I’ve been trying for seven and a half months to get you to talk baby names with me and you pick now to get into it” you laugh at the angel hovering over you.
“I always hoped you would-“
“I would change my mind? Sorry angel but no such luc-” before you could finish, your contractions started again. “Where are Sam and Dean?” you grunt in pain “I can’t- she’s- its time and they aren’t here!” you start to feel yourself panic.
“We’re here!” Dean shouts as he enters your room “We were waiting outside… giving you two time to- letting you say-“
“Goodbye? You can say the word Dean. It’s not so scary once you just say it”.
Pain envelopes you before you can go any further and say a proper goodbye to the men in your life. You never got a chance to tell Dean he was more of a father to you than John ever was. You never got to tell Sam that his kindness, attention, and care for you kept you going in even the darkest times of your life. Most frustrating of all is you never got to tell Castiel you loved him. You let the words go implied and unsaid for years, hoping he knew but were too scared to actually say it out loud.
That was another final regret. You let your own fear of emotional expression or ‘chick flick moments’ prevent you from fully embracing those you loved. You hoped that your daughter would not be a coward like her mother. You wish, more than anything, that she would not be afraid to embrace love and give love. You don’t want her final thoughts to be all the things she was too scared to say when she had the chance. Before the pain becomes too much, you send a silent prayer to Castiel.
The sounds of a baby crying rang through the now dead silent halls of the bunker. Sam had taken the baby girl away from your room, away from your lifeless body. Dean stayed with Cas as they covered you in a white sheet. The men sat wordlessly together watching you intently, waiting, hoping you would get up – but you never did. For what felt like hours they stayed that way until Sam came back to stand in the doorway, never entering the room, to say that the baby was hungry and he needed help feeding her. Dean looked over at Cas who never acknowledged Sam’s presence, he simply kept staring at you.
“Come on Sammy, we’ll take care of it,” Dean offers as he raises himself from his seat at the end of your bed. He spares one last glace at you, thinking that he saw you move but when he realized it was just due to his weight shifting off the bed he could feel tears starting to prick the corners of his eyes. He looked up to his wide eyed little brother still hovering in the doorway, Dean steeled his composure, willing the tears away. He wasn’t able to save his baby sister but he was stubborn enough to believe that he could protect Sam from the hurt.
The brothers made their way to the kitchen. It was silent except for the occasional whines from the fussing baby in Sam’s arms. Dean fumbled around the kitchen, unsure exactly how to prepare the baby’s formula. He thought he would have more time to learn all of this.
“Here, take her and I’ll get the stuffy ready,” Sam says as he passes the infant to Dean.
“I don’t think-“ Dean tries to protest but once the child settles in his arms, Dean is unable to move or speak. He is afraid any movement will harm the delicate bundle. The baby girl looks up at her uncle with big Y/E/C eyes and without realizing it, a small smile creeps onto Dean’s face.
“It’s amazing right… their just like Y/N’s” Sam says when he turns around to see his brother with his niece.
As if cold water had been dumped onto Dean he is shaken from his trance. He hates himself for smiling so soon after you had died. He couldn’t save you. He has no right to experience comfort or warmth while his baby sister lies died in her room. “You got this?” Dean asks as he abruptly, yet carefully, places the baby back in Sam’s arms and turns to leave the kitchen.
“Dean!” Sam tries to call after his brother but a few moments later he hears the bunker’s door slam shut.
A few hours later, a sweaty Dean Winchester comes back into the bunker. He is covered in dirt and the palms of his hands are bleeding slightly. Sam, still holding the baby girl, meets Dean in the hallway. He tries asking what happened but Dean ignores Sam and enters Y/N’s room. A few moments later, after faint sounds of arguing, Cas emerges from the room carrying your limp body.
Sam stands back in shock until Dean follows close behind Castiel. “It’s time, Sammy,” Dean states plainly as the men make their way outside.
Dean had built you a pyre out of the thick branches of the surrounding forest. He even lined the base with the pink and blue wild flowers you used to pick and leave around the bunker.
You’re are wrapped in your favourite flannel blanket as you are laid atop the pyre. The boys wait an extra minute before lighting the fire, giving you one more chance to wake up, but you never did.
The fire starts and you are instantly engulfed in flames. Sam flinches at the sight and holds the baby closer to his chest guarding her from the painful scene. Dean just stares sternly, emotionlessly, knowing that if he let himself break, there would be no going back.
Castiel lets his blue eyes water over. He knows he deserves to feel this pain. He knows he deserves to watch you burn. He did this to you.
The flames have almost died out before anyone moves. Cas turns to leave when Sam interrupts his movements by standing in front of him, offering to give him the infant, giving him the chance to meet his daughter.
“Cas, man you should hold her” Sam suggests in a low voice.
As Sam speaks, your final prayer rings through Castiel’s mind ‘Let our girl know love’.
“Cas?” Sam repeats when the angel doesn’t answer or even acknowledge him.
Castiel looks Sam in the eye, never even looking at the child. “I can’t do it, Sam. Not yet.” Castiel states with a gruffer than usual voice right before he disappears into thin air.
“Cas!” Dean yells as he rushes over to where his best friend stood only seconds ago.
The baby girl starts to cry and both brothers stare down at her with uncertainty. Neither brother was prepared for this. Dean looks over his shoulder toward the dwindling fire then back to the nameless child in Sam’s arms. Dean straightens his back and clenches his jaw as he looks up at his wide-eyed baby brother. He may have no idea what he is doing, but he’ll be damned if he lets you down again. This kid, your kid, will not be alone. She will know love.

Protect (Winn Schott x Reader)
I decided to do something new and write from a prompt, which I was used to doing from the past and I thought “Hey, let’s do some angst because I’m feeling some type of way” and now here it is!
l/c = lip color
Based on TFR’S Writing Prompt #47
“Is that blood?” “No?” “That’s not a question you’re supposed to answer with another question.”
Summary: A sudden change in Agent Y/n L/n’s actions causes suspicions to rise from one of her closest friends in the DEO, Winn Schott.
Warnings; Mentions of relationship abuse (physical), blood, and VERY angsty until the end.
| Masterlist |
Y/n walked slowly into the DEO, sticking close to the wall as she held her head down. She currently wore black shades over her eyes, covering the rather large bruise that surrounded her right eye, something she didn’t have the skill to cover with makeup. She wished her sub-par skill of trying to get past all of the other agents without being noticed would work in her favor as she neared her desk where she could hide her face in front of the monitor.
“Y/n!”
Shit.
The sudden call of her name caused her to jump, recognizing Winn’s voice easily as she turned to the direction from where it came from.
Winn happily walked up to the shorter girl with a smile on his face that could make the sun jealous, and her heart beat at a million miles per hour.
“Hey, how was your weekend? I tried to call but you know how busy it can get around here,” He laughed lightly before eyeing her shades, peering slightly into the darkened lenses, “Is… Is there a reason you’re wearing sunglasses indoors?”
Y/n laughed nervously, tucking her hair behind her ear, “I-I, um, I have a really bad, uh, h-hangover! Yeah, yeah, I just had a bit too much to drink but I didn’t feel like calling out because it’s not that bad, you know?” She nodded along with her own words, trying to convince herself of her own lie. “Listen, I’d love to stay and catch up but I have a lot of work to do. I’ll see you later, though.”
Before Winn could say another word, she turned and continued her way to her desk, pushing her sunglasses further on her face.
Winn watched as she walked away, lips pressed in a thin line at the unusual interaction. Y/n was usually eager to catch up with him, they shared the same interests and she actually laughed at his more-than-awkward jokes, what could have happened to change that?
He shrugged it off, brushing it off as a random mood; it would be better to leave it alone for now than to question her about something she wouldn’t want to say to him first.
The next week Y/n came in again, wearing the same shades and keeping her head down, but this time she seemed to be walking faster.
Just get to your desk, stay there for a little bit, then go into the bathroom to check. No sudden movements, it’s not even that bad. She thought to herself, tucking her slightly swollen bottom lip between her teeth.
She could still taste the faint copper tang of her own blood against the slight cut on the skin.
Before she could make it to her desk she heard footsteps behind her, which normally wouldn’t set her off until a firm hand landed on her shoulder. She jumped slightly and spun on her heel, coming face to face with a frowning Winn.
“Hey… Are you okay, Y/n? I didn’t mean to scare you, I just-”
“I-I’m fine, Winn, no harm done.”
Winn felt his heart tighten at the fact that she wouldn’t look at him, even with those stupid sunglasses on she still avoided his gaze. “Y/n. You know you can tell me anything, right? Cause I’m not gonna believe that you of all people went out again and got so drunk to have another hangover.”
Y/n released her lip from her mouth, her jaw clenching at the words she nearly predicted he would say. “I… It’s nothing, I accidentally hurt myself, bruised my eye and my lip is a little swollen too, but I swear that’s all.” She took in a breath to calm the wavering in her voice, knowing she wouldn’t be able to hold it in any longer if she kept at this rate. “You-You know how accident prone I can be, hot-Schott.”
Usually the use of the slightly corny nickname would put Winn at ease but deep down he felt like something was truly wrong. “I know that, but still! First the, the hangover and now this? You can’t blame me for being a little worried for you.”
“You don’t have to worry about me, Winn. I’m a big girl, I can handle myself.” Her words came out with a sting of venom that shocked her more than it did Winn, her eyes widening once they came out of her mouth.
His face contorted as eh narrowed his eyes at her, wishing he could see through the lenses that shielded her off from him, “I never said you couldn’t, Y/n, but when you come in saying these things like it’s a normal occurrence for you then I’m going to worry.”
“So, what, you don’t believe me?”
“I mean it’s kind of hard to believe you when you don’t talk about it any time after and basically disappear for the rest of the day!”
“Well maybe there isn’t anything to talk about! Why can’t you just-”
“Hey guys, what’s going on here?”
Y/n visibly jumped as Alex interrupted her sentence, walking closer to the two arguing agents with her arms crossed. She eyed Winn and Y/n, noting how the two wouldn’t even look at each other, let alone herself.
“N-Nothing. I was just going to start my work. I’ll see you later.” Wrapping her arms around her sides, Y/n quickly walked away from her friends, internally shrinking in on herself as she felt their stares burning into her back.
Alex raised an eyebrow and looked to Winn, instantly ready to interrogate him on the subject she had yet to learn about.
“I don’t know Alex, I’m just as confused as you are.” He sighed, running a hand through his brunet locks as he reprocessed the argument he just had.
Alex huffed and shook her head, sneaking a glance to where Y/n had walked off to before looking back to Winn. “Well, don’t press her about it too much. I’ll go find Kara and ask if she knows anything about what’s going on. If not then I’ll look into it myself.”
“Wait, wait, you want to spy on her? Don’t you think that would be taking it a bit too far?” Winn whisper yelled, not wanting to attract the attention of passing DEO agents.
“Fine. But, if this happens again and she isn’t saying anything I’m searching every database and sending Kara out on a spy mission.”
“Sweet, a spy mission! On who?” Kara’s chipper voice chimed in behind the two, making Alex and Winn sigh before explaining the entire situation.
The next two weeks went by without any clear signs of something being wrong; Y/n stopped wearing her sunglasses three days after the little argument she had with Winn and slowly started talking to him again, apologizing for yelling at him and even giving him an “apology cupcake” from the bakery nearby.
They continued to catch up and hang out whenever they had the free time to do so, until one day Y/n didn't show up to the DEO.
"Schott, have you seen Agent L/n anywhere?" J'onn's bold voice called out to Winn, whom was sitting at his desk typing away at some new algorithm he was tasked to create.
"Uh, no, no I haven't... She still hasn't called?"
"Not even a text message." Kara interrupted, lips creased into a frown as she placed her hands on her hips.
"Yeah, well I tried calling, the fourth call went straight to voicemail; someone must have turned it off." Alex stood next to her sister, looking between the three before settling on Winn, his gaze instantly meeting hers. "Try and see if you can track her phon-"
"Already on it."
Immediately putting his previous project on the back burner, Winn began searching the databases for the last signal Y/n's phone sent off before it was shut off; typing furiously and feeling the stress of everyone else weighing on his own. Within no time the computer chimed, red circles narrowing in on where her last location was.
"It says she's still at her apartment?" Kara read over Winn’s shoulder, the statement sounding more like a question as she tried to process any reason why she wouldn't contact them.
"It's not her apartment, she moved in with her boyfriend a few months ago, remember?" Alex reminded her, slightly pacing in front of the desk.
J'onn sighed and shook his head in disapproval, "So it might just be her phone that's there. Supergirl, you fly ahead and see if there's any immediate danger, Agents Danvers and Schott you two will come with me and-"
Winn shook his head, "No, I'm going with Kara."
"What was that Agent Schott?" J'onn's tone was commanding, his eyes boring into Winn as he took a step forward.
"I said I'm going with Kara! If Y/n's hurt, or... or worse, I want to be one of the first people there." Standing up, Winn looked J'onn in the eye as if to challenge him. Usually someone wouldn't even dare to do this but this was a circumstance Winn wouldn't back down from. "I can't let anything happen to her, J'onn."
Knowing there was no way to convince Winn otherwise, J'onn sighed before giving a curt nod of his head. "Fine, but you stay with Kara, we don't need anyone else getting hurt."
"Yeah, besides whatever person got to Y/n." Kara spoke through clenched teeth, using her powers to speedily change into her suit before looking to Winn, "Ready?"
Winn nodded and the two went off to head to Y/n's presumed location while Alex and J'onn prepared themselves for a possible fight.
Kara and Winn quickly made it to the second floor where the apartment was located, standing at the front door as Kara used her x-ray vision to scope out the apartment. Alex and J'onn showed up not too far behind as they held their guns at the ready.
"I don't see anyone in the living room but there's...There's someone in the bathroom, I think it might be Y/n."
Once those words left Kara's lips Winn's nerves shot into action, his hand gripping the door knob and turning harshly before slamming his body weight into the door.
It swung open.
The front door was never unlocked.
Avoiding tripping over his own feet he ran to the bathroom at the front of the hall, gripping the doorknob and twisting only to see that it was locked from the other side. Through the wood he could hear faint crying, the sobs making it clear that Y/n was on the opposite side.
"Y/n? Y/n, it's Winn, please open the door."
Behind him he could hear Alex and J'onn checking the other rooms within the apartment, confirming that it was clear of anyone else. Kara looked around the living room to see that it was nearly trashed, broken glass from picture frames and beer bottles littering the area. In the dining room there was a flipped over chair, seemingly toppled by someone pulling or pushing it away; the round table was noticeably moved as well making it clear that there was some sort of fight.
Focusing his attention on the sobbing girl again, Winn rested his forehead against the brown wood, sighing. "Y/n, please... Please open the door. It's only us; me, Kara, Alex, and J'onn, you have nothing to be afraid of."
After what seemed like an eternity he heard the door unlock, allowing him to slowly open it and enter the new room. The first thing that caught his eye made his chest tighten and his blood boil, sucking in a breath to keep him calm.
"Is that blood?" His eyes flickered between the edge of the bathroom sink and Y/n, noting the way she was holding her upper right arm and staring anywhere else but Winn.
"...No?"
The moment would have made Winn smile, even chuckle that she would choose to keep her humor in this moment. "That's not a question you're supposed to answer with another question."
Almost on queue tears began to stream down her face as she finally looked at Winn, giving him a chance to fully see her. Her e/c eyes were puffy from crying, but her left eye adorned a purple bruise under it, her cheeks had a few scrapes here and there, and her h/c hair was disheveled as if someone grabbed it forcefully.
"Winn, I..." Her body began to shake as more sobs wracked through her.
Suddenly it all clicked; the sunglasses, the hiding, the silence, the secrets. Without any other word Winn pulled her into his chest, protectively holding the back of her head with his right hand while his left was wrapped securely around her back.
“It’ll be okay, everything’s gonna be okay, I’m here…” He shushed her as she cried, gripping his shirt as if he would disappear. “I’m here.”
“So, we found the boyfriend,” Alex smirked, walking towards the main room of the DEO with Kara, who had a strong smile on her face.
J’onn looked between the two of them before returning back to the paperwork he held in his hands, “And what did you do to him?”
“Oh, nothing! We just… found out how hard Winn can punch a man.” Kara barely managed to get the complete sentence out without bursting into a fit of laughter, Alex chuckling along as well.
“Knocked him clean out, I’m proud to have helped teach him the proper form of combat.” She beamed, placing her hands on her hips while Kara continued to laugh at the memory.
Nodding in slight appreciation, J’onn looked between the two women, “Good, and where is Winn now?”
“He went back to his apartment to check on Y/n, she’ll be staying with him in the meantime,” Kara walked around the circular meeting table to peek around J’onn’s shoulder, “Hey, is that the restraining order?”
“Mhm, just finished processing the abuse charges as well; this is the copy to give to Y/n for her files.” He hummed, placing the packet down with a deep sigh.
“I still can’t believe she was going through something like that; being abused by someone you love, then having to hide it? Alex crossed her arms, face contorted in confusion and sympathy for the agent, one of her, and the team’s, closest friends.
J’onn gave Alex a sad smile, standing straight from leaning against the table, “There’s a lot that people don’t understand, but it is not our job to do so until she decides she is able to share. The only thing left to do now is support her and show her that we will do everything in our power to keep her safe.”
Winn shut the front door of his apartment as he threw his keys onto a table next to the door. He sighed, shaking his right hand while the stinging sensation still coursed through it, his knuckles were still a bit red. Kicking off his shoes on a mat near the door, and placing them next to a smaller pair of sneakers, he walked through his small apartment towards the living room.
“Y/n?”
His heart skipped a beat once he spotted her from over the back of the couch, even with what she went through she never ceased to look beautiful to him. She was curled up against the navy blue of the sofa, a cream blanket draped across her shoulders as she slept; h/c hair framing the side of her face while the rest was sprawled against the small couch pillow, l/c lips parted, and chest rising and falling in tune with the delicate breaths she took in. In front of her laid a bowl of ice cream, Winn’s recommended choice of additional comfort, her cell phone, and the TV remote which was used to play Newsies on the flat screen, as per her request not that he minded.
His forest green eyes drifted over to her phone, narrowing slightly as the screen glowed with notifications, 24 missed calls and 45 text messages. A surge of anger coursed through his veins as his jaw tightened, making a mental note to either change her number or write a code so whenever he would try to contact her it would go straight to the police. She was too kind, too beautiful, too caring, too much of a strong woman to be dealing with a bastard like that. She deserved the world and he vowed to help her see that as he helped her cope with this, he loved her too much to just let people like that mistreat her.
Deciding against letting her sleep on the couch, even if it was just for a nap, Winn walked to the other side and bent down to pick the slumbering girl up, letting the blanket fall back to the couch. She stirred slightly, turning her head to rest against his shoulder while breathing in deeply before letting out a breathy sigh.
“Winn…?”
He felt his face heat up as her warm breath tickled his neck, pushing away the slight embarrassment as he cleared his throat, “Y-Yeah?”
“I… I’m not done… Jack didn’t sing… I Never Planned… On You yet…”
A short chuckle left his throat as he started walking towards his bedroom, knowing she was trying, and failing, to fight off the sleep that pulled her in deeper. “You’re so deep in exhaustion I didn’t think you’d actually know what’s coming on yet.”
Y/n let a tired smile lace her lips, snuggling closer to his neck, “We’ve watched it like a thousand times together… And I wasn’t…”
“You weren’t what?”
“Mhm…”
Her breathing began to even out once again, causing Winn to roll his eyes playfully and enter his room; moving away the blanket before laying her down gently. As he went to pull the blanket further on her body she stirred again, opening her tired, dazzling e/c eyes to look at him.
“Winn? Do you… Do you mind staying with me? I…” She stopped once she saw the smile on his face, knowing she wouldn’t have to explain any further, “Thank you.”
It only took him a few minutes to shower and throw on a pair of boxers and pajama pants before walking back into the room to Y/n, noticing how she was, once again, half asleep. He easily slid into the bed next to her, laying on his back as he rested his left arm behind his head. The room was silent for a few moments until Y/n turned onto her side, facing Winn and scanning his face for a second.
Winn turned his head to catch her gaze, “Thinking about something?”
She chewed lightly on her bottom lip, a small blush dusting her cheeks as she took a breath, “If you don’t mind… Can you sing I Never Planned on You?”
Even with watching multiple musicals with each other, they took on a habit of singing and maybe reenacting them; it was something she adored about spending time with Winn, and something that made her feel at home.
Her nerves from the slightly embarrassing question were set at ease once Winn started singing.
I have no use for moonlight, or sappy poetry
He started out in a mock New York accent, nearly identical to Jack’s from practice.
Love at first sight’s for suckers, at least it used to be
Look girls are nice, once or twice, till I find someone new, but
I never planned on no one like you
At some point they ended up closer to each other, her head resting on the edge of her pillow as Winn was facing her, his head propped up on his hand as he sat up to continue singing; getting rid of the accent as he sang with more feeling, making Y/n’s heart beat faster.
I have no use for moonlight, or sappy poetry
Love at first sight’s for suckers, at least it used to be!
At this moment the space between them was nearly nonexistent, his left hand resting delicately against her waist while her right hand rested against his forearm. Their eyes stayed locked on each-others, seeming to speak words neither of them needed to verbalize as they grew closer. Winn pressed his lips against hers in a soft, yet meaningful kiss, his heart bursting in joy as he felt her kiss back with the same amount of force. It lasted only a moment but they both knew it was completely fine, shifting into a position of Winn laying on his back once again and Y/n resting her head on top of his shoulder, curling into his side easily.
No, I never planned on no one like you
As he finished the song quietly he felt Y/n’s breathing even out again, showing that she had finally fallen asleep once more. He pressed a kiss to her forehead, smiling to himself before falling asleep as well.

Journey To The Past
Chapter 1
Looking out the window of Capsule Corp. , the purple haired boy felt a deep sadness. There was no one to talk to except for his mother, Bulma, and the remaining survivors of the cyborgs. Sighing, he tore his weary eyes from the rubble that was left, and hung his head. He had been working on rebuilding the city, but it all seemed in vain. No one was there for him. Except for Bulma, but these past months, she'd locked herself in her lab, working on some new project. He could care less. 'When will I smile again? I can't remember the last time I smiled…'
"Trunks! Come here!" A familiar female voice beckoned him. Trunks raised his head in surprise. When was the last time she had needed him? 'When I had to go to the past…' He answered his own question. Nevertheless, Trunks made his way down the spiral staircase, wondering what on Dende's green Earth she could want from him. He found his mother waiting for him at the end of the stairs.
"What took you so long? Oh, never mind." Bulma was taping her foot impatiently, when suddenly, her mood changed dramatically. "Trunks! I have great news! I've built another time machine!"
He froze. How could she? After all they'd been through with time machines, she'd gone and built another? What was he supposed to do with this one?
Bulma took a deep breath. "I know what you're thinking, Trunks. But this time it's different. Trust me. You need to trust me."
He looked in her eyes, and saw the plead for forgiveness, hope, and need for trust there. Giving in to the plea, he nodded to her. And was immediately rewarded with a brilliant smile.
"Thank you, Trunks! But now, on to more serious matters." Her smile faded just a bit. "I need you to, once again, go into the past. This time, though, it will be different. I want you to go and change our timeline. You have to do the same thing all over again, basically. This time will be different because, of course, there will be no Cell to interfere." Thinking about what he was just told, Trunks wondered what would happen if he didn't go far enough into the past.
"I know what you're thinking. Don't worry. If you go too far into the past, then the machine gives you two chances to reprogram. Just two, Trunks. That's vital information. You need to be extremely precise when you tap in the coordinates. Or else, well, let's not talk about that."
He nodded again. That was all he needed to do. To his surprise, Bulma smiled at him, a real genuine smile. "Trunks, I'm proud of you. Doing all you can for me, no questions asked. And we're all grateful. Trunks," She sighed as she said his name, "I know this hard. But please, just this last chance. That's all I ask."
"Yes, kaasan. Of course." He spoke softly, as if he would break the air around him.
*** Time Machine
Days after his talk with his kaasan, and figuring out what to do, Trunks found himself landing the machine.
"It's like d¾j´ vu all over again." He muttered, not quite understanding the meaning of his own words.
But nevertheless, he managed to land, and safely. Taking a deep breath, he grabbed the handle of the time machine's door and lifted. He jumped out with his eyes closed, afraid of what he might see. After minutes of fright and terror as to what he might see, the warrior opened his eyes. Relief swam over him at the sight he saw. Like Bulma had predicted, he had landed behind Capsule Corp. . Still a little worried as to what might await him, Trunks walked instead of flying over to his home. Apprehension built steadily inside of him as he approached the large building. Finally giving into his instincts, he flew speedily the rest of the way to his home.
*** Inside Capsule Corp.
Pan was sitting beside Bra in Bra's room when she felt something odd. A new ki, but familiar. 'What's wrong with me?' she wondered. She looked out the window, just in enough time to see someone. Someone with purple hair. Smiling, Pan told Bra that she would be back, she just wanted to greet Bra's niichan home form work.
Bra snorted in reply. "Knock yourself out. He'll be really angry and depressing. He always is after he works."
Pan just smiled and nodded, and took off to see him, not paying attention to the fact that she passed Trunks on her way out the front door.
*** Outside Capsule Corp.
"Trunks-kun! Hi!"
Trunks' ears perked up at the sound of his name. But the voice didn't sound familiar to him. So who could it be? He looked around to see who the voice belonged to, and saw a pretty, raven-haired girl waving…at him? The girl ran up to him, and said another cheerful hi. Then an odd look crossed her face as she looked at his clothes. He was wearing a Capsule Corp. jacket and black jeans, with his sword strapped to his back; what was wrong with that?
"Trunks, you didn't wear that to work did you?" The pretty girl asked him, her face frowning up at him.
"Um, I'm sorry, but do I know you?" Trunks asked her, confused. That shocked to girl, without a doubt. "Y-you don't know me? But how? I'm Pan! You know me! You've got to know me! I spent two years on that spaceship with you and grandpa Goku! How can you not know me!"
*** Inside Capsule Corp. t.v. room
Trunks watched from the couch as Pan dashed out the front door, wondering where she was going. Suddenly, he heard Bra coming down the steps. So he decided to ask her. "Hey, Bra! Where's Panny going?"
Bra froze on the last step. Did she just hear her brother ask her where Pan was going? " She, uh, went to meet you, Niichan. What are you doing inside? We saw you walking home."
"First of all, Bra, I don't walk home, second of all, I've been home for about twenty minutes!"
"Then who…?"
Bra raced outside, with Trunks hot on her heels.
*** Pan and Trunks
He stared at the girl in confusion. What two years? It had been much longer than that since he'd been away, and he didn't even remember her face… 'Grandpa Goku? Who is this girl?'
Suddenly, two more figures came running out of Capsule Corp. . A blue haired girl and…himself?!
Suddenly it hit him all at once. 'I've gone too far into the future of my past!' He groaned inwardly.
*** Much later, in the Capsule Corp. living room, all the Z senshi and family
"Woah. So, you're Mirai-Me?" The present Trunks asked, after most of the mess had been sorted out.
"Yeah. I'm Mirai, uh, us, I guess."
At the same time, the Trunkses said, "This is gonna be weird," and sighed. They looked at each other, and sighed again. All at the same time.
Pan, on the other hand, was in heaven. Wow! Two of him! Now I've got twice the chance! Yes! She thought to herself.
Bulma spoke up. "Ah, Trunks?"
They both looked up. "Yes?"
She took a deep breath. "Um, this might sound weird, but you two can, well, uh, read each other's thought, and feel each other's feelings." She smiled. "So, you both might feel a bit odd for a while." No kidding, Trunks thought to himself.
I'm with you, the other Trunks said to him.
They looked at each other, startled. "You, just spoke to my mind!" Trunks said.
"You did the same to me!" Mirai-Trunks replied.
Meanwhile, Pan was heaving a small dilemma of her own. Which one's cuter? She wondered to herself. Hm. Mirai-Trunks is more innocent, I think. But Trunks is more cocky and sure of himself. Great. Now how am I going to decide? I like them both! Perfect.
"Pan? PAN! I'm trying to ask you something here!" Bra practically yelled in Pan's ear, while poking her side.
"AAA! What?!"
"Do you wanna sleep over tonight?"
"Of course I do!"
"Great! Now let's go to the mall!"
Everyone in the room sweat-dropped at Bra's predictable suggestion.
Journey to the Past
Part Two Begins Here. Watch Out. This Is Mostly Thought Speak Between The Trunkses.
Psst…me! Mirai-Trunks thought to…well, himself.
What?
Is, uh, Bra always like that?
Unfortunately, yes.
What about that other girl? Pan? Is that her name?
Yeah. Pan was more of a tomboy. Except now she's changed a bit…
What do you mean?
Well, she's more, uh, feminine, I guess.
Is that a good thing?
Um, look, I don't like where this conversation is heading!
So we'll stop. Agreed?
Agreed! Came the thankful reply.
And the Trunks-Trunks conversation ended right there. That is, until that night, when they were both in their separate rooms, on separate ends of the house. Mirai-Trunks couldn't sleep. And he had a sneaking suspicion neither could -uh- himself. So, he thought of one thing to get conversation going between them…
Hey! Me! Are you awake? He whispered to his present self.
Now I am… He received a grumble back.
Well, excuse me! I just wanted to know a few things…
Like what?
Like about that Pan girl.
Woah, not this again!
Why not?
Well, because.
That's not a valid answer…
Sure it is!
Than what does it mean?
Uh, can I get back top you on that?
No.
Damn!
Hurry up. I like her She seems really nice.
Well, that's cause she is really nice. And smart. Very smart.
What else?
Well, she's the daughter of the strongest being in the universe…
Who's that? Goku?
No. Gohan. She's Gohan and Videl's daughter and…
The Gohan in your world finally got married? Wow. He's lucky. Too bad that the Gohan I knew didn't have that.
Yeah.
A moment of silence feel over them, one thinking about what could have been, the other thinking the same, only different.
Alright. But getting back to that Pan girl…
Right. Well, her name is Son Pan, you probably could've guessed that, and she's Goku's and Chi-Chi's grand-daughter, Gohan and Videl's daughter, and Goten's niece…
Hold up. Who's Goten?
Don't you remember? He's the guy who looks like a carbon copy of Goku!
Mirai-Trunks paused for a moment. Oh. Now I remember. Go on.
Alrighty. So anyway, she's Goten's niece and Bra's best friend.
What about you?
Me? Um, well, I don't know. I guess we're friends.
Well, she did come out to greet me, thinking I was you…
So? What's that mean?
Well, you two are at least friends. Enemies don't go out of their way to greet each other. Nice-like, I mean.
Oh. Right. Well, um, I guess that's all to know about Pan…
I don't think so. What's she like?
She's very smart, like her dad, and very saiya-jin like. As in, she likes to get her way. Most of the time. And she's very pretty…Shit! I didn't want to say that!
Baka. You're talking to yourself here. I notice the same things you notice. And I also know all about how you feel towards her.
SHIT!
Yeah, that just about sums it up. So when are you gonna ask her out?
I can't!
Why the hell not?
Well, what if she says 'No'?
She won't say no!
Alright…here's another. Her dad will kill me.
Eh, that's a good one.
No kidding. Not to mention my best friend…my sister would be ecstatic, though.
Why?
They're best friends. And trust me, if Pan and I were going out, she'd definitely be spending LOTS of time here. Just not with Bra. Lots and LOTS of time with me…uh, talking. Heh heh…
Ah. So I take it you think she's pretty?
Pretty is the understatement of the year, me. I think she's gorgeous. The most beautiful creature on Earth.
Woah. You're in pretty deep there, Trunks.
Tell me about it. But there's also that huge age difference. And plus, what if she doesn't love me? Then what? I make a fool of myself? I don't think so! Not this guy!
Yup, you're me all right. Let's get off negative topics. Besides, I really think she likes you!
Really? You think?
Ok, I'm sorry, we're getting corny here.
Woah. You're right. But, um, could you answer the question first?
Of course. Trunks, or me, I think she's in love with, er, you? us? One of us?
Um, I think that's a good thing. Besides, you've got to leave right?
Right. In a week. That should be enough to get her and you together. Right?
Right! Now, please, I need sleep, Mirai-me.
Ok. 'Night, me.
'Night.
The Trunkses eventually fell asleep, but it was a different matter for the two young females in the house. They were still wide awake, talking about, well, you know.
"Oooh, Pan! Two of niichan! What're you gonna do?" Bra squealed excitedly to her best friend
"Oooh, Bra! I don't know!" Pan teasingly responded in the same tone as bra.
"What do you mean you 'don't know'? You have to do something! And fast, too!"
"Like I said, I don't know! What should I do? Try and get both of their attention? And even if I do which one do I go for? Your niichan in the present timeline? Or Mirai-Hunk?"
"Ick. I really hate it when you give niichan those dumb nick-names," Pan stuck her tongue out to her, "But I think you should go for the present niichan."
"Why?" Pan inquired.
"Cause then when you get married you can be my sister!"
Pan blushed a charming crimson and squealed, "Br-a! We are not getting married! I'm too young!"
"You are NOT! You're 20! You can get married!"
"So? What if Trunks-san doesn't wanna marry me? Ever think of that?"
"Of course he wants to marry you! Silly Pan-chan! Haven't you been noticing the way he looks at you lately? Or have you not been paying attention to his face, just his-"
"BRA! STOPPIT!"
Bra giggled. "Oooh, naughty Pan-chan!" She clicked her tongue at her, and waved her index finger. "Naughty, naughty, naughty!"
"BRA!" Pan wailed. "It's not funny!"
"I know. I shouldn't be teasing my future sister-in-law!" She suddenly gasped. "Oh my gosh! I'm gonna be an Aunt!"
Pan's face flushed such a color that you would think she would burst any second…"BRA! I SAID STOPPIT!"
Bra just giggled. "Oh, Panny, but you two would make such a cute couple! Think of it! Little purple haired, brown eyed, little children running around all of Capsule Corp.! Or maybe it would be black haired, blue eyed children! Or maybe one would look like you and the other would look like Trunks!"
"All right, Bra, I hope you've been training…"
"Why?"
"CAUSE I'M GONNA KILL YOU!"
"AAA!"
It was at this moment that both Trunkses decided to come in and investigate what was going on between the women.
"What the hell is going on here?!" The Trunkses demanded at the same time.
Bra and Pan looked at each other. "Uh…heh…do you really wanna know?" Bra asked timidly.
"NO! They don't. Besides, its not like we can tell them!"
"Not tell us what?" They inquired at, yet again, the exact same time.
"That is really getting on my nerves…" Pan muttered.
"WELL? NOT TELL US WHAT?"
The girls winced at the impact of two saiya-jins yelling on sensitive ears. "Ow…um, we can't tell you what we were talking about," Bra managed to whimper out, "But my ears…"
"Aw, you'll get over it. What were you talking about? Us?"
Uh-oh. They guessed! Pan thought, panicking.
"You tell us what you were talking about, of course. Silly Pan-chan." The present Trunks said, smirking.
But, how? Did he read my thoughts?! Oh my GOD that's TERRIBLE!
"How is our being able to read thoughts terrible?" Mirai-Trunks asked, raising a violet eyebrow.
DAMMIT! Pan and Bra thought at the same time.
"Do you know what they're so worried we might find out about, Mirai-me?"
"I have a pretty good idea…" He said with a smirk. They looked like a pair of younger Vejiitas! --
Chapter 3
Pan was really starting to panic. No way could she tell them what she had been talking about. Pan also couldn't look at them or else shed start to think how good they looked and well, that would be weird! Shaking her head, Pan tried not to think of Trunks like that when he was around. Actually, he could read her mind, so she couldn't even think of him or else her thoughts would wander to other things. Pan blushed at the mere thought wait! She had thought that! Oh no! She glanced quickly at the Trunkses and saw that they were both smiling and looking at her. Looking away quickly, Pan tried to think something else. Ah-ha! Struck by a sudden idea, Pan began to think of a boy she had thought was cute. Who wasn't Trunks. Pan made herself think of her and the boy kissing. Pan knew she shouldn't be doing this. She didn't know his name, she only knew he was very attractive. Pan had just seen him when she and Bra went to the mall! But nevertheless, Pan continued to think about the boy her hands tangled in his hair his hands on her shoulders, massaging them as they kissed Pan started to feel really good.
The Trunkses, on the other hand, were steaming.
Mirai-Me? Do you know who this guy is?!
Not a clue! I thought you knew him!
No! I've never met this guy before in my life!
Do you think that maybe Pan wants us jealous?
"WHAT?" Trunks yelled out loud. Startled out of her thoughts, Pan turned to look at him, eyes wide and innocent.
"Trunks? Is there something wrong?" Bra asked, puzzled.
"No not at all," Trunks claimed coolly, all the while glaring at future self.
Pan was puzzled. What just happened there? She wondered. Well, she would find out soon enough
The next morning, Pan awoke on a mattress beside Bra's bed. Well, that's what she thought. When she actually opened her eyes, Pan found that the bed beside her wasn't Bra's it was Trunks bed?! But why was she here?!
Sitting up on her mattress, Pan looked up on the bed. Lying on it, snoring, was Trunks. Her Trunks; the present Trunks. She smiled a tenderly, full of the love she felt for him. He slept on his stomach, feet and arms sprawled across the mattress. One of his feet was dangling off the side of the bed that Pan was on.
She couldnt resist.
Well, she thought, one little tickle can't hurt. So she did. Running her fingers lightly over the sensitive skin on Trunks foot.
In reaction, his foot came up, almost catching her in the face. Pan giggled and did it again.
This is too much fun, there must be a catch, Pan thought to herself.
Youre right, Panny, there is a catch.
Pan gasped. Where was that voice coming from?! She had heard it in her head!
Telepathy, Panny. Very easy to use and master.
That voice sounded very familiar! And Pan only knew one boy -or should she say man?- that could sound that cocky
Trunks! Get out of my head!
Why Panny? Dont like me?
Yes, of course I like you! Its just you can be very annoying.
He grunted physically. "Thanks, Pan-chan. I really had no idea."
Giggling, Pan replied, "Oh, you're very welcome, Trunks-kun! Now then, mind telling me exactly why I'm here in your room and not Bra's?" She lifted an eyebrow, curious as to what he might tell her.
Uh-ohuh, Mirai-Me? Little help?
Not this time, Me.
Er, why not?
But poor Trunks didn't get an answer. So, very quickly, he had to think of something to tell Pan. "Er, well, youre here because becauseI, um, wanted to" In truth, Trunks only had a simple idea of why he wanted Pan beside him.
Awakening last night from a dream, one he didn't want to recall, Trunks had sat up in a cold sweat. He was terrified. But of what, he hadn't known. All he could think about was Pan, and how she always made him feel better.
Suddenly, a voice interrupted his thoughts.
So tell her that, you dipstick.
Gee, thanks for the compliment, Mirai-Me.
Trunks could tell his Mirai self was grinning. Youre welcome.
"TRUNKS! I'm still waiting"
Startled out of his mind-conversation, Trunks very suddenly remember Pan was waiting for an answer. So tell her thatHis Mirai selfs words came back to him. He made his best wounded puppy-dog face. "Last night I had a bad dream and you're so comforting so I dragged you here. Is that ok?" He made a little sniffle to emphasize his terrible dream. And got the exact answer from Pan he'd wanted.
"Aw poor Trunks-kun!" Pan patted his cheek. "You could have woken me up! Poor baby." She gave him a hug that made them both blush a little.
A silence feel over them. Trunks broke it by asking, "You hungry, Pan-chan?"
She perked up. "Yes! I'm hungry!" And scrambled down the stairs, leaving a laughing Trunks behind her.
The whole family was downstairs already, minus Vejiita, who was training. Bra had a curious look on her face when she spotted Pan.
"Pan-chan! Where were you? I woke up this morning and you weren't there!"
Pan blushed. "Um, maybe Trunks should tell you."
Hey, me! Youre in trouble! Mirai-Trunks sat at the table, looking at Pan, but talking to Trunks.
Trunks was just coming into the kitchen when he heard himself talking to him. Huh? What do you mean, I'm in trouble?
All I'm saying is that you'd better hurry and think of a really good explanation for why Pan was in your room. Now.
Trunks panicked, thinking fast. He entered the kitchen and found everyone there. "Hey guys! Whats going on?"
Bulma raised an eyebrow. "You've come just in time Trunks. Mind explaining why Pan was in your room instead of Bra's room, where she was supposed to be?" Trunks gulped.
"Well its like this. I had a bad dream, and Pan, well, she has a very comforting presence. I basically dragged her into my room, and feel asleep listening to her breathing."
Everyone Awed at Trunks. "Oh, Trunks that was so sweet!" Bulma said.
Everyone, except Bra. She was looking at him suspiciously; she obviously didn't believe that was the true reason he brought her to his room.
