Smth bout this macho-ass man finally getting to stay back n not take charge for once feel nice, also princess Adam supermacy wooooo. Whoever came up with the ship name i applaud u cause that's like a 3 layers name(ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

It's not an Adamsapple fic without Adam having at least 1 mental breakdown n Lucifer have his guilt eating him alive:)))

i keep thinking lately that i must have gotten so much lazier than i used to be. i’ve let so many things fall through the cracks - my cooking + baking hobbies, for one, or going with my baby siblings to the library once a week like i did for years, or even just chores i used to be able to largely keep up on - and now all i seem to do is lay in bed.

what i keep forgetting is that, for a year, i didnt have a job because i was too disabled to handle one. life was still draining and exhausting, yes, but when i had spoons, they could usually be spared for things like cleaning, cooking, or small outings.

i have a job now. i really, really shouldn’t, but i lost the safety net i had for that year & i can’t survive without the money i get from this job. i wouldn’t be able to work this job if i couldn’t do it from my home, and spend 80+ percent of my shift lying down. it almost doesn’t feel like a real job because of those two factors.

but the thing i keep forgetting is that, four days a week for 5-6 hours at a time, im forced to spend mental and physical energy that i could previously keep for other things, like spend time doing things outside of my bed. that’s a huge time + energy commitment to adjust to, after not working for so long. work is where almost all of my energy has to go now, whether i like it or not.

no wonder i struggle with feeling like i can exist outside it - it’s because it leaves me so wiped out & with so little recovery time that, in some ways, i can’t exist outside it at all.

no wonder i feel lazier - but it’s not that i’m lazy. it’s that i’m being punched down like bread dough every time i get a small breath of relief!! every time i get a couple days of rest, i get forced back to work for more days that i had to recover.

my very chronically ill body can’t cope with so little time recovering outside of workdays, so it forces me to spend pretty much all my time resting just to keep up with what’s being demanded of it. there’s no mental or physical space or energy left in me for things like making proper meals, or tidying the kitchen, or taking the kids on small outings like i used to do.

i don’t have a chance to catch my breath with work. this will not be sustainable long term - it isn’t even sustainable now. but hey! that’s just how life works, isn’t it! i got denied disability benefits, so i have to work, whether it’s hurting me or not. but it’s not laziness that’s making me spend all my time in recovery mode. it’s survival. i have to remember that.
