Jayce… can’t focus in class for some reason and ended up needing to ask for help after class… from the man who distracted him in the first place.

// Please note that Viktor can be interacted with outside of an Arcane setting! He will still be a scientist who works on finding ways to better the lives of those who need help. I also don't know anything about League of Legends other than Viktor's game profile and the House on Emberflit Alley story! I would be interested in adding his game verse in the future (because I like it, too!) but I will be focusing on Arcane for now as that will be my main verse.
Viktor is an idealistic, altruistic, genius with a passion for science and its ability to improve lives for the better. Growing up in the slums of Zaun as a poor, sick, disabled boy; Viktor understood the suffering everyday people had to endure by living in Zaun's terrible conditions. Viktor wanted to leave behind a legacy where he could improve the people of Zaun's lives and do good for all; he found a worthy outlet of this dream by pledging his support to Jayce's dream of bringing Hextech to the masses. Viktor would sometimes quarrel with Jayce when he felt he was being led astray or distracted from their shared dream of using Hextech to help people.
Viktor believes that people are in desperate need of the good that Hextech can provide and wants to make it accessible as hasty as possible. This sometimes leads to quarrels with Jayce and Heimerdinger, who've sometimes withheld Hextech from the masses or halted its development until they could establish viable regulations for the new technology. Viktor is very bold in his pursuit of scientific discoveries and often is willing to do dangerous experimentation to figure it out or go against the ethos of the scientific community to accomplish his goals. To Viktor's credit, he has faith in himself and the genius to back it up. Part of the reason he is so hasty to usher in a Hextech revolution is because of his short lifespan, and his dread that he will be unable to accomplish the meaningful good that his goals aspire to before he expires.
As a child, Viktor's disability prevented him from joining in playing with other children, which made him a loner. As a student of the Piltover Academy, he was an outsider who relied on his genius and grit to make something of himself. He often defers to Jayce to act as their spokesperson for public speaking events while he supports him from behind the scenes. Due to Viktor's inability to be a public figure, Viktor is often overshadowed by Jayce as a founding father of Hextech. Viktor seems content to devote all his time on developing Hextech and sees its progress and the popularization of the science as the most important use of his and Jayce's time; with socializing and other extracurricular activities taking a backseat. Viktor sometimes becomes so immersed in his work that he becomes a reclusive workaholic.
During his time as a non-augmented person, Viktor was a white skinned, amber eyed, and brown haired human with a slim build. Since his birth he had a deformity preventing him to walk unaided, needing a cane to move (later a walking crutch.) During his time exposed to Zaunite pollution, it would greatly worsen his health conditions and reduce his lifespan.
When he started to dabble in self-augmenting Hextech experiments, Viktor would slowly start replacing his body parts. First, magically altered by the powers of the Hexcore with the aid of Shimmer (his right leg and hand specifically), he would eventually transition into mechanical augmentations, completely replacing most of his body parts.
--- Important Notice!
I see Viktor as being interested in men and having casual flings here and there during his time as a university student / Heimerdinger's assistant but nothing that ever became full relationships as he was always too focused on his studies and work. My fave ship for him is Jayce but I am open to plotting and interacting with others! If he has chemistry with other male characters — including ocs or muses from other fandoms — then we can let them develop!

100 follower event~ N/SFW
Viktor x reader: Trapped in the closet
You were the Janitor of the Piltover laboratory. You were in charge of cleaning the boys messes when they got too dirty while doing their science. One day when you're relaxing before your evening shift and Viktor rushes into your office looking panicked. He asks "Y/n where do you keep the brooms?" He looks panicked and frazzled, his hair messier than usual. You look down and notice he is in his underwear with his 8 inch cock securely packed inside. You lick your lips. His skin is it's usual clammy and pale color except for the strange markings covering his body. He's panting after having walked the 10 metres between the labs and your office.
"Yeah why do you need a broom?" you ask. Viktor looks at you fearfully. "Viktor, what did you spill?" You ask calmly. Viktor sags his shoulder and sighs. "Follow me, y/n." You get up with trepidation in your heart and walk with him down to the labs.
When you enter you see ashes scattered across the floor. You look up at Viktor quizzically. "Y/n, meet my assistant, Sky." Viktor wasn't making any sense. You knew Sky, she was a bright-eyed, sweet young girl who always waved to you when she saw you. You continued staring at the ashy floor until you spotted her trademark spectacles and her jacket lying in a heap. "Sky unfortunately had a little accident with the hexcore and-" his voice wobbled and he sounded like he was on the verge of tears. "Oh god." you murmured. "I'll get the dustpan," you told him.
Taking him by hand you lead him to the broom closet. Inside you start looking for an appropriately sized broom for the job. You hear a clicking sound behind you. Turning around you see that Viktor accidentally knocked the doorstop away and the door's autolock kicked in. Viktor's eyes immediately brimmed with tears.
Seeing a man both mentally and physically so broken made your heart ache. You reached for him, holding him in your arms as he cried. You patted him reassuringly, holding back tears of your own. "Shh, it's all right," you murmured by his ear. "It'll be okay." A few minutes later, Viktor managed to collect himself and looked at you with watery eyes. "Thank you, y/n. I think I really needed that." You smiled back kindly, still feeling a bit raw. "Anytime, Viktor." You both sat down in the closet, facing each other, your legs entangled in the cramped space and Viktor's walking stick propped up against the wall behind him.
"You know, y/n, you're really important to me. Thank you for always being there." You feel your heart race, "Thanks, Viktor. I care a lot about you too." To pass the hours you both began talking about your lives, sharing the bits and pieces of gossip you had picked up around Piltover. Viktor was explaining his attempts at trying to prolong his life and how there were still tons of things he wanted to do. "So what would be at the top of your bucket list?" you ask.
Viktor blushes immediately. "Well- uh- that's a bit hard to say." "Hard?" "I've," he ducked his head in embarrassment, "I've never been with anyone... sexually before."
"Well, that's easily remedied," you grin mischievously and lean forward. "Y/n, you don't have to-" You silence him with a kiss which Viktor gratefully melts into.
You lean down with your head directly sticking onto his crotch. His clean white undies smelt of daisies and you felt his precum wet against the fabric. You slowly use your fingers to remove his cock from its place and take it out. His 8 inch cock sprung out and slapped you unexpectedly, Viktor was ashamed of what his penis had done to you, especially after what he had done to Sky. "I am sorry y/n that wasn't supposed to happen it usually does not do that," You chuckled "It is okay I like to get slapped by my daddy."
Viktor leans back against the wall of the janitor's closet and closes his eyes, as you start licking his length. You take his whole member down your throat and slurp hard. Viktor is moaning the pain of the day away. After several minutes as he nears his climax he clenches his thighs which send a shooting pain down his limp leg. He ignores it as the heavy feeling of climax builds in his lower abdomen. You notice this and increase your speed and suddenly he releases his hot white cum down your throat.
This entire experience was so intense, his weak legs started shivering from the experience. Viktor tucked his willy back in and looked at you as if you were a saviour. "Thank you y/n now I can strike at least one more thing off my bucket list", you wiped his cum off your mouth. "You inspire me to work hard everyday, I am glad I could make you feel like this today".
Suddenly the door opens, there is another Janitor standing outside. Your shift was over and the next person had to pick up the broom from the closet. He instantly backs away looking at the two sweaty people trapped inside. Viktor is relieved and tries standing up. You notice his legs are way to wobbly than usual due to the blowjob, his cane would not help him at all. Keeping this in mind you reach out for a steady broom from the back and hand it to him, Viktor returns you a thankful gaze. He then uses the broom as support to go back into the lab to clean up his mess.
your janitors,

Flying fists aka Boxing au
This is a mess born from discord but everyone wanted me to post it so here it is.
All anyone needs to know jumping in are the divisions i’m using which are: fly > straw> bantam > jr lightweight > lightweight > welter> middle > jr heavy > heavyweight
The two main organizations/Gyms that sponsor tournaments and everyone knows their names, that would the Magistrates and the Paladins, the rivalry is 100% fake but they play it up as much as physically possible for the hype factor.
Ash is the Middleweight headliner for the Magistrate gym, possibly even the champion. Her matches against Inara, the Paladins own middle-weight headliner, are something to look forward too as they fight for the belt. The two are both known rivals and household names.
Tyra is a Lightweight who’s trying to do the impossible and take on the entire middleweight division aiming to face Ash. Originally from the Sentinel gym who transferred over to the Magistrate after its collapse she’s now swapped over to the Paladins after her contract ran out. while her main goal is to defeat Ash she’s always wanted to fight her own gym-mates where there are real stakes lines up.
The sentinel was an Old gym that fell apart shortly after Viktor lost his title as Welterweight champion and was forced to go into rehab due to injury; Everyone just moved on to other gyms. viktors finally making his return to the ring on the Magistrates side with a new but shortly lived hairstyle. Not even strix would let him keep it.
Terminus is the Magistrate’s prime Heavyweight headliner with an undefeated streak coming out of a 3 year retirement. Previously he fought for the paladins and is a big point of contention for fans and papers alike.
Mal’damba is an ex-boxer forced to retire due to being a sufferer of Fibro, He created his own gym, uncreatively named Wekono with a certain snake as its mascot and pet. He now spends his time training and coaching other boxers, primarily Flyweights. This includes Ying a newcomer, 2 of her sisters,The eccentric Willo, Pip, and previously Fernando who is now the Middleweight headliner and champion for the Magistrate. The latter of which unfortunately is a personal headache of his due to actions in the aka “I didn’t train you to act like this”
Fernando joined the magistrate in order to emulate his old Shining Knight, the previous Middleweight champion that unfortunately retired when Nando was brought on board. The magistrate gave him a very hype-focused backstory believing he would be one of their hottest ticket sellers and Fern unironically believes it. Mal is usually brought back to assist in his training via personal request. This flirtatious disaster will flirt with just about anyone and can never seem to catch a break, even Skye wont return his flirting and is completely exasperated with him.
Alongside Ash, Skye is a Major headliner for the Bantamweight women’s division on the Magistrate’s side. Her fem-fatale personality an over the top act put on for the audience and her opponent alike, while off the ring she has a somewhat different personality. This doesn’t stop her from briefly kissing her opponents mid-match in order to throw them off, especially if it happens to be Evie or Maeve. Evie (bantamweight) is an odd sort living with Skye that travels between gyms and orgs on a near daily basis, clearly not set to a contract but rather brought on for individual matches and thus you’ll never quite know who she’ll be fighting for next.
Maeve is an off the streets bantamweight up-and-comer quickly climbing her way up the rankings as the Sole Headliner and reason for the Cats-eyes gym staying afloat. Previously she used to fight in underground matches, where she would bluff defeat by letting her opponent get the upper hand early on before decimated them when most bets were placed on them; her opponents included both men and women. She was forced to take things legit when her face started getting recognized and thus started making less money.
Kinessa is a Lightweight who likes to hop around between gyms and tends to find herself sticking with the magistrate more often than not. The girl started off in the underground fighting in any ring she could until she caught the eye of Strix an ex-sentinel and current trainer for the magistrates main gym. While mostly fighting in legal matches nowadays this doesn't stop her from going back to the underground when she feels like it.
Khan is the Magistrates Jr. Heavyweight headliner and has the personality to boast for it with Lian standing in as his second and personal trainer right beside him. as Lian is a second for him so is Khan as second for her when she enters the Lightweight ring. The two are considered their own little team within the magistrate and are allowed to for lack of better term wave their own flag, House Aico is greatly respected within the ring.
Like Mal, Jenos has his own gym, granted established far earlier than Wekono. While never really producing any noteworthy Boxers before, Jenos managed to snatch up Buck an ex-wrestler and ex-sentinel and magistrate boxer for his own. In order to sell tickets the magistrate and jenos both love to play up his leaving as a treacherous rivalry.
Zhin is a self proclaimed lightweight “Heel” that does his best to hype his image as a ruthless tyrant, from his own little hole in the wall gyme that not many have heard from, however with him as its lead boxer it’s starting to grow a name for itself. No one has been able to tell him heels are not a thing within boxing yet.
Cassie is a Lightweight who’s new to the scene fighting for the Paladins trying to make a name for herself and attempt to stay out of her fathers shadow, Arturos who was considered a legendary boxer in his day. unfortunately people still remember him and keep refering to her as “Arturos’ Daughter” instead of her own person; she hates this greatly and goes to great lengths to distance herself even moving out on her own and living with Kinessa.
Like other paladins Cassie is currently training under Makoa, an old boxer and trainer who’s well established in the community, and Barik a commission for hire Trainer who’s seen traveling between both big-names. Usually can be seen making friends with Makoa’s grandson and second-in-training Talus who is far too young to be in the ring and very hyped to witness all the matches.
Seris works occasionally works as a cut-man for either side but her main focus is to be the on-site medic for emergencies alongside Grover the old doctor who’s been around long enough to see many champions rise, fall and return; including viktor and terminus.
Grohk is an ex-Boxer who took far too many blows to the head with a skewed perception of things, due to health concerns he now works as a hype styled secondary announcer for a small time gym alongside Ruckus. (Bolt is a big benefactor for both the paladins and the magistrate)
Kharne and Valera are both announcers for their respective organizations, sometimes even joining in on the other’s desk during tournaments to provide insight, with Vivian and Torvald sitting right beside Kharne. Torv more so focused on the analyst aspect of his work.
Interactions i couldn’t fit in: Fernando consistently tries to flirt with Skye while shes training, getting completely ignored each time but when he hardcore falls for someone he begins to beg her for tips. Skye tries to ignore him but he just gets too annoying for it and threatens to tell someone she likes that she wasn’t just messing with them on the ring forcing the flirtatious master to help the disaster.
#Paladins cotr#paladins champions of the realm#mod raeve is very gay#everyone#features flanktrio and malfern#Seris' favourite patient is Inara

313: The Importance of Finding Meaning in Life: 9 Lessons taught by Viktor E. Frankl
"Man's search for meaning is the primary motivation in his life and not a 'secondary rationalization' of instinctual drives. This meaning is unique and specific in that it must and can be fulfilled by him alone; only then does it achieve a significance which will satisfy his own will to meaning." —Viktor E. Frankl
First published in Germany in 1946, Viktor Emil Frankl's seminal work Man's Search for Meaning and the desire to write his first book (to be titled The Doctor and the Soul: An Introduction to Logotherapy) that largely gave him the will to live while imprisoned at Auschwitz during WWII. Marrying psychology and philosophy, a primary focus of his work throughout his life, Frankl shares "Certainly, my deep desire to write this manuscript anew helped me to survive the rigors of the camps I was in."
Now with more than 16 million copies sold worldwide, Man's Search for Meaning continues to be a book to read, understand and reread. While not having the opportunity to read it until now, I am grateful that at least I finally did read it, and I would like to share with you today nine lessons learned about the importance of finding meaning in our lives.
Much of the premise of a simply luxurious life is centering our lives, our selves, or perhaps a better word is grounding ourselves in priorities that marry what we can uniquely give, but also what the world desperately needs to progress and cultivate a more civil, loving and peaceful place for not only ourselves, but future generations. At first, such a task given to each of us may sound ginormous and far too weighty a task, but when we drill down, ultimately, love, sincere love, being able to share our true selves and be accepted begins to create a harmony of contentment that cannot help but create a symphonic awareness grounded in a desire to live more peacefully and lovingly with each other. Too far reaching some may contest, but if my own life journey, which indeed is filled with good fortune and privilege beyond my choice or control, demonstrates, when we have not found our meaning, when we are discontent, building healthy relationships is incredibly difficult, and often fraught as while trying to make sense of our lack of purpose, we displace our pain, so I wholeheartedly find worthwhile value in exploring what Viktor Frankl teaches, and hope it will offer tools for you as well to tap into what gives you meaning and share it with not only the world but yourself so that your everydays may be full of contentment. Let's take a look at the nine lessons.
1.Choose to pursue the will to meaning
Frankl defines the will to meaning as "the striving to find a concrete meaning in personal existence". For when we find our individual will to meaning, the healing begins. Existential frustration subsides, neuroses find solutions, anxieties wane and contentment soars.
2. Find your meaning, find your way forward
Frankl shares an anecdote of an American diplomat who came to his (Frankl's) in Vienna discontent with his current career. Following five unfruitful years with his former psychological analyst who claimed the discontent came from the need to reconcile himself with his father as the analyst made a parallel with the father and the U.S. being a superior figure, upon visiting Frankl, and following only a few visits, the patient realized with clarity that his "will to meaning was frustrated by his vocation, and he actually longed to be engaged in some other kind of work. As there was no reason for not giving up his profession and embarking on a different one, he did so, with most gratifying results."
3. Nothing is wrong with you if you feel existential distress; in fact, you are heading in the right direction
Frankl points out, moreso for practicing therapists, to not equate existential distress with mental disease. Asserting, "it is [the task of the therapist], rather, to pilot the patient through [their] existential crises of growth and development."
So often in my own life journey, the distress of frustration by my career, my relationships (or lack thereof), and what I was meant to do with my finite days on earth, felt as though it was a burden, not good fortune. Something was 'wrong' with me for not having figured out my life journey immediately, quickly and feeling at ease. Thankfully, the opposite is true, all was well. I was listening to myself, I was acknowledging something didn't 'fit', what I was giving, what I was spending my time doing either wasn't enough or it wasn't aligned with my talents and what the world potentially needed.
In this post - 9 Ways to Think Like a Monk, as taught by Jay Shetty - Shetty's idea of Dharma is shared.
Passion + Expertise + Usefulness = Dharma
In many ways, finding our Dharma is to find our will to meaning.
4. The unexpected gift of tension
"What man actually needs is not a tensionless state but rather the striving and struggling for a worthwhile goal, a freely chosen task. What he needs is not the discharge of tension at any cost but the call of a potential meaning waiting to be fulfilled by him."
I chose to bold the phrase 'freely chosen' because I find it to be an essential element to finding true contentment. Even if your life is charmed, yet you still feel discontent and frustration, yet society applauds, your family applauds, your friends cheer for what you are doing with your life, most likely, you have unconsciously not chosen for yourself the life you are living, but rather have been steered by approval, expectation and mores to take the steps and make the choices you have without truly acknowledging what you long for. Which leads me to the next item on the list, but first . . .
Welcoming tension in your life must be thoughtfully done. After all, unnecessary stress is harmful to our health. No, what Frankl means by stating tension is healthy has everything to do with pursuing what gives you meaning. If you derive meaning from advocating for a cause, then the path forward will undoubtedly be fraught as you are striving for progress, but you strive forward anyway because it is your will to meaning. If you derive meaning from raising a family, nurturing your children as to give them their own wings with which to fly, the journey together will be a mingle of emotions, but you strive forward because it is your will to meaning. If you derive meaning from contributing through your chosen career path to improve the lives of others, you navigate through the frustrations, setbacks and hurdles because it is your will to meaning and you know why you are pursuing it.
When the path we are on does not fulfill our will to meaning, similar to the anecdote of the American diplomat mentioned above, then the tension becomes unhealthy. Then we must be frank with ourselves and find the courage to change course and bravely do so, not only for our own well being, but for those we love and the world at large. Why? Because the world needs what you uniquely have to give. Figure out what that is and then begin giving what you discover. Your tension will be reduced to a healthy amount and your contentment will soar.
5. Discover what you long for and find your contentment
The term Logotherapy as defined by Viktor E. Frankl derives its meaning from the Greek root Logos which is defined as "meaning". Logotherapy "strives to find a meaning in one's life as the primary motivational force of man". Logotherapy opens itself up while including 'instinctual facts within the individual's unconscious [it] . . . also cares for existential realities, such as the potential meaning of his existence to be fulfilled as well as his will to meaning." In other words, Logotherapy assists the patient to become aware of "what he actually longs for in the depth of his being".
Understanding the language of your true self can sometimes be difficult and take time especially if we have suppressed it for some time; however, we are each capable of learning our language when we choose to be a student of ourselves.
As I share in my About page (I recently updated it to reflect more accurately and specifically what TSLL is all about, but the shared portion below remains the same as it did in 2009), while I valued and gave my all to teaching, in 2009 I finally acknowledged that something wasn't entirely being satiated by solely working in the classroom." (see the excerpt below)
The Simply Luxurious Life came into fruition in 2009 when I realized the life I enjoy living—a life full of simplicity, yet punctuated with everyday luxuries found even in the most routine of days, was something I wanted to explore more fully due to the immense contentment it brought into my life. In fact, I needed to explore it more intentionally because while many people didn’t understand how I could live well and contentedly on the everyday income as a public school teacher (I retired in 2021 after twenty years), I had a curiosity for the world, especially the French culture followed by my appreciation for the British countryside and their gardening wonderland, that wasn’t entirely being satiated by working in the classroom. And this is an example of our lives speaking to us.
Thankfully I listened and decided to share my discoveries, passions, and ideas as a way to inspire others so that they too could find their passion as a way to living a life full of true contentment by clearing out the clutter (figurative and literal) and bringing in the luxurious necessities to enliven and inspire each day no matter what their income, age, location or relationships status.
—TSLL's About page (Start Here)
When we find meaning, even if nobody else understands why such a path speaks to us and brings us to life, we have found the motivation of infinite energy, creativity, tenacity and strength.
6. Find your meaning, eradicate boredom
Frankl coins the term 'Sunday neurosis" as "that kind of depression which afflicts people who become aware of the lack of content in their lives when the rush of the busy week is over and the void within themselves becomes manifest." He goes on while speaking about the existential vacuum to share that without the will of meaning, and with the improved automatization of our 21st century, "many will not know what to do with all of their newly acquired free time". Which is to say boredom, anxiety, distress and lack of direction cause more solvable problems that he argues can be largely solved when we find our will to meaning.
This is not to say you have to be busy every moment, pack your schedule with appointments; in fact, I would argue, it is the opposite. Or perhaps, more accurately, it is a knowing what supports and nourishes your will to meaning and thereby finding comfort with your down-time that is a part of your self-care and confidently engaging in your productive time when on task.
7. Your next best step toward meaning is what is best for you
"The meaning of life differs from [person] to [person], from day to day and from hour to hour. What matters, therefore, is not the meaning of life in general but rather the specific meaning of a person's life at a given moment."
I found it helpful to note that Frankl directly advises not to search for an abstract meaning of life, but rather a concrete 'assignment which demands fulfillment'. In other words, don't commodify yourself, but rather what is it you bring that is helpful and that you find fulfillment in giving? "Thus, everyone's task is as unique as is his specific opportunity to implement it."
8. Finding strength during times of suffering
"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves."
Just as Frankl's own life exemplifies harnessing his will to meaning to survive the unthinkable tragedies and struggles during WWII, he writes, "In some way, suffering ceases to be suffering at the moment it finds a meaning, such as the meaning of a sacrifice." However, and this is crucially important to absorb, he continues on in the same section of the book to point out "But let me make it perfectly clear that in no way is suffering necessary to find meaning. I only insist that meaning is possible even in spite of suffering—provided, certainly, that the suffering is unavoidable."
9. Hold yourself in the present fully for all the days of your life
Frankl writes that we must refrain from being pessimistic and instead be activistic when it comes to our human existence. That is to say,
"The pessimist resembles a man who observes with fear and sadness that his wall calendar, from which he daily tears a sheet, grows thinner with each passing day. On the other hand, the person who attacks the problems of life actively is like a man who removes each successive leaf from his calendar and files it neatly and carefully away with its predecessors, after first having jotted down a few diary notes on the back. He can reflect with pride and joy on all the richness set down in these notes, on all the life he has already lived to the fullest."
He goes on to suggest there is no need to envy the young because we have lived fully each of our days, holding ourselves in the present, motivated by our will to meaning, and "instead of possibilities . . . have realities [from our past experiences] . . . not only the reality of work done and of love loved, but of sufferings bravely suffered."
Just as happiness cannot be experienced in every moment, suffering cannot be wholly avoided when we find our will to meaning and let it guide us forward. However, by holding ourselves in the present moment, while we cannot avoid experiencing the loss of loved ones, we can love fully, so that when we reflect, we are filled with joy and reminded of the riches of our lives, riches we, by bravely living well, engaging with our humanity, courageously stepping into what we discover is our will of meaning, helped to bring forth into our lives.
Upon learning about Viktor E. Frankl's approach to therapy and perspective on the meaning of humans, I found an alignment that has unconsciously spoke to me to honor for decades. Although never making sense, and not having the opportunity, nor pursuing more intentionally philosophy courses in college, the ideas danced about in my mind, and while I, at the time, wanted them to leave me alone because they were so perplexing, they thankfully waited for me to make sense of them, to trust them.
The world swirling around us via media, messaging, our community can be deafening and hold us off course if we let it. But when we understand that the feeling of frustration is actually a sign that we are hearing our inner voice, we can find peace. Because in that moment of aha, we can take a breath, and continue to pursue the questions that keep bouncing around in our mind, because, if my own journey is any indication it is a path that will lead you to everyday contentment.
I do hope you enjoy this week's episode of the podcast. Thank you for stopping by and tuning in.

hey i saw that post abt your soviet chess team OCs and honestly bc i always love your ideas and hcs and everything i'm rly interested!!! who are they? what are they like?? i'd love to know!
Hi omg thank you for asking ilysm !!!
So an important thing to know about all thesecharacters is that my roleplay friend @fredditrumper and I created so many of them because ofthe joke in Broadway/Australia that they have twelve members of their team, basically triple the number of the American team. And from other versions(namely German) we know that Anatoly is followed around/protected by a hugenumber of KGB agents so what my friend and I eventually did was name all ofthem and give them “jobs” that are essentially really see-through titles thatthey use instead of admitting that they’re government agents and are all armedduring the championship. I’ll label which ones are mine (and thus which I havethought more about) and the other ones are hers! As a note, also, these are ourroleplay notes so they’re phrased a bit strangely in places—I didn’t want totype everything again to put it in my more usual phrasing (she wrote hers and Iwrote mine is what I mean).
Nikolai: Molokov’s Personal Assistant. Early thirties.A very cool and collected character. He wears hair product much like Molokovand sunglasses. He’d find himself very above all of the silly things that theywere forced to do to keep up a façade. He’d be a great agent though and woulddo what he needed to do. I think though that he’d be so insulted by the factthat he’d been assigned to this though that he’d basically be viewing it all asa vacation.
Anton (mine): Anatoly’s second. He’s a bitmelancholic, tending more towards sadness than contentment when things werequiet. He would be very calm and objective, definitely level-headed. Despitethis, he wouldn’t be ruled by his emotions. Anton would have been formallyeducated, unlike Anatoly. He would have gone to school for literature with afocus on archaic poetry. Chess would have, of course, been a lifelong passionof his but it wouldn’t have been at the forefront of his mind until a year ortwo after getting his degree. Then he would have become very fixated on itagain and started making gains on the circuit, actually becoming acquaintedwith Anatoly through Viigand a few years before Merano. He would be older thanAnatoly.
Valentin: Anatoly’s second. He’d have actually lovedchess from the very beginning. He’d have gotten into Molokov’s business fromchess, unlike the others. He’d have seeked out Anatoly for the purpose oflearning chess from him. He’d have never expected to have the honor of beinghis second. I think he’d be incredibly driven but very hard on himself. He’dget really self-deprecating when he ‘failed’ at something. He’d tend to alwaysthink that he needed to prove himself useful or intelligent for people to likehim.
Andrey (mine): Doctor. A little bit over thirty. Veryenergetic in all aspects. Quick to laughter but also quick to anger. WhenMolokov tells him to be quiet, it’s usually others who get the brunt of hisfrustrations. He’s a pretty elevated agent. He’d have some actual medicalexperience but more so in emergency situations. He wouldn’t exactly know whatto do about small things like migraine and carpal tunnel.
Ivan: Physical Therapist. He’d have a passion forphotography and landscapes, first and foremost. He’d enjoy the beauty ofeverything around him and he’d actually have a personality that wasn’t veryfitting for his actual line of work. He’d be soft but he’d also be vicious whenhe needed to be. He’d care very deeply for Viktor. When he’d been assigned toMolokov, he’d have gravitated to him almost instantly.
Mikhail (mine): Therapist. He’d be a very sympatheticperson, actually quite fit for his job. He would be very intuitive and verypatient and he would have read quite a few books about cognitive and humanistictherapy before taking the role. He’d want to make sure his players were okayeven though that wasn’t his real job there. He wouldn’t exactly be sweet, however. He’d just have a gentle touch. He would have worried when Anatolystarted talking to him less and less despite feeling increasingly worse.
Viktor (mine) (and my personal favorite!): PressSecretary. He’d be very pessimistic and very focused. He would resent theassignment he’d been given here. Generous (to the right people) and veryconfident in himself- he would have a very easy time being extroverted and hewouldn’t exactly understand people who were awkward or nervous. He’d be verythin, angular, attractive honestly.
Dimitry: Stylist. A bit flippant. He’s always ready tolaugh and chat and gossip. He’d be best friends with Anton despite theirdifferent dispositions. He’d love to talk and would keep the group awake atnight with his chatter.
Vlad: Personal Chef. Resident tough guy of the group. He’d be big and intimidating which he’d love for his job, of course, but itwould really bother him when it interfered with his personal relationships. He’d care about his group like crazy which would lead him to worry abouteverything, too. He’d have idly took a cooking class before they went to Meranobut more for laughs than for actual skill.
We have an even number of characters that we roleplay, actually, because I’m both Molokov and Anatoly and she’s Viigand!
My favorite of my own characters is definitely Viktorand he’s the one I’ve put the most work into. I like to make him the oppositeof Anatoly—where Anatoly is soft, Viktor is sharp. Where Anatoly is trusting,Viktor is skeptical. Where Anatoly is naïve at times, Viktor is very bitter.
She likes Ivan a lot! As a kindness to me, I think, wedevelop her and Viktor as a pair really often. Of her characters, I loveValentin and Dimitry most but her characterization is amazing for each andevery character she ever writes for.
Anyway! These are just basic run-downs on them all butI’d love to talk more about them and about my AUs for them!!!

Belarus Dictator Lukashenko Clings to Power
LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnist.com), Aug. 17, 2020.--Winning a sixth term August 10 by 80%, 65-year-old Soviet-style Belarus dictator Alexander Lukashenko rules the former Soviet satellite in a way to make 67-year-old Russian Presisent proud. Both leaders have much in common, except for the fact that Putin’s a primetime figure on the world state, not Lukashenko, who’s content to rule land-locked Belarus with an iron fist. Once the election results were known, Belarus citizens took to the streets to protest voter fraud, something known in Soviet-style regimes. Whatever the aspirations of the Belarusian people, they know that there’s no free elections under dictatorship, where Lukashenko controls the vote. After nine days of protests, 200,000 protesters Belarusian citizens took to the streets in Minsk, telling Lukashenko to “Go Away.”. “I will never cave in to pressure,” Lukashenko told tractor plant factory workers in Minsk.
Lukashenko, who’s been ruling Belarus since 1994, after the breakup of the Soviet Union Dec. 31, 1991, can’t fathom government by the consent of the governed. “Some of you might have got the impression that the government no longer exists, that it has tumbled down. The government will never collapse, you know me well,” Lukashenko told the crowd of factor workers. Speaking at the Minsk Tractor Plant, over 5,000 workers took to the streets to protest Lukashenko’s dictatorship, calling the Aug. 10 election a clear case of election fraud. When Putin won reelection March 18, 2018 by 76%, protesters also took to the streets calling out ekectuib fraud. While it’s possible Putin manipulated the vote, it’s also possible most Russian are so brainwashed iving under Putin since Dec. 31, 1998, with only brief stints serving a prime minister, only to see Putin win by big margins..
Lukashenko put down peaceful protests, turning violent when a peaceful protester was killed, shot in the chest Aug. 12 by Belarus authorities. Protesters were hit with rubber bullets, tear gas, clubs and stun grenades, the same techniques used in the United States to stop peaceful protests from turning violent. Thousands of demonstrators want exiled opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya to take over the country. “Lukashenko is a former president. He needs to go,” said Sergei Dylevsky, the leader of the protest at the Minsk Tractor Plant. Dylevsky says that Tsikhanouskaya is “our president, legitimate and elected by the people,” attesting to how some protesters want Lukashenko out. Minsk citizens know what happened in Ukraine March 1, 2014 when Putin marched the Russian Army into Ukraine, annexing the Crimean Peninsula, home to Russia’s warm water fleet.
Lukashenko tried to placate large crowds telling them he’d be willing to share power if the Constitutions is amended, a process that could take months, if not years. Protesters weren’t buying Lushenko’s stalling tactics, telling he to step down for the good of the country. “”I Lukashenko indeed cherished our independence and sovereignty as he said, he needs to step down no to give Russia a pretext for invading out country,” said 52-year-old protesters Alexander Lobcovich. “I’m afraid that the Kremlin has such a plan already,” worried that what happened in Ukraine could happen in Belarus. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said he was nut building up troops in the area. “We remain vigilant, strictly defensive, and ready to deter any aggression against NATO allies,” Stotenberg said. Stoltenberg offered no help to peaceful protesters looking to redo the Aug. 10 presidential election.
Lithuanian authorities, that share a border with Belarus, expressed concern about any Russian crackdown in Belarus. Those same fears were echoed in Poland where the Pentagon has rotated Trump from Germany to Poland starting next year. “If they consider just incorporating the country in a simple way, the consequences would be unpredictable,” said Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicus. “Russia understands Lukashenko’s weakness and is preparing its own scenario, which could envisage a deep integration in exchange from military assistance,” Khaskovsky said. Putin won’t take a coup d’etat lilkening it to neighboring Belarus, just like what happened Feb. 22, 2014 when former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanunkovych was driven from Kiev, prompting Russia’s invasion of Crirmea one week later. While Tsikhanouskaya waits in Lithuania, she shouldn’t hold her breath.
Putin has a lot of credibility at stake with kindred sprit Lukashenko. Unlike Yanukovych accused of fleecing Ukraine for his own extravagance, Lukashenko acts like a buttoned up Soviet-style leader, someone Putin won’t let fall. Russian Foreign Minister spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said today that “foreign elements” were stirring up unrest in Belarus. Calling it “foreign elements” give Putin the perfect excuse for sending in the Russian army and cracking down on unrest. Putin did it in Moscow when protesters took to the streets to protest his last election victory in 2018. “I’m ready to take on the responsibility and act as a national leader in order for the country to calm down . . . “ said Tsikhanouskaya, a 37-year-old school teacher. “The people of Belarus have a right to decide their own future and freely elect their leader,” said European Council President Charles Michel.

20 Fantasy Hockey Thoughts
Every Sunday, we'll share 20 Fantasy Thoughts from our writers at DobberHockey. These thoughts are curated from the past week's "Daily Ramblings".
Writers: Michael Clifford, Ian Gooding, Cam Robinson, and Dobber
1. It was just a year ago I was saying that Joe Pavelski was overvalued. Now, I think he’s undervalued. Crazy the difference a year can make. If Joe Thornton can be anywhere near as healthy and productive as he was a couple years ago before the knee injuries cropped up, Pavelski has 25 goals and 35 assists locked up. He probably does even if Thornton isn’t healthy thanks to the additions of Evander Kane and Erik Karlsson. Pavelski adds loads of hits and shots, which is why he’s valuable for me. (sep14)
2. Check out Mike Clifford’s piece on the fantasy impact of the Erik Karlsson deal for both teams. From the Ottawa side, I’ll agree with Mike that I don’t think this deal itself helps anyone outside of Thomas Chabot, although another injury will help another player heading to Ottawa. More on that below.
Chabot might end up with a plus-minus of about minus-100 playing for a dreadful Ottawa team (yes, I’m exaggerating on that number but you get the idea). The Senators lack veteran d-men that can take on the tough minutes. But I believe the Karlsson trade adds about 5-10 points to his projected point total and 3-4 minutes of ice time per game while vaulting him onto the first power-play unit. Whether he’s ready or not, he’ll be jumping head first into the water this season. He should already be owned in keeper leagues, while he’s worth drafting in the later rounds in single-season leagues.
Meanwhile, the Jean-Gabriel Pageau injury (out six months with a torn Achilles) likely moves Chris Tierney up to the second line. Tierney was a bottom-six forward for the Sharks but he’ll be leaned on heavily and seems a good bet that he’ll start the season on the second line, although Colin White could work his way up into that role. Drake Batherson’s changes of making the Senators should also improve because of this injury. All three forwards’ fantasy values improve with the injury news, as Pageau could be out all season. (sep16)
3. So, who gets the lion share of the goalie starts in Colorado this season? It’s a question every poolie with a pulse has been muttering to themselves this summer. After trading for long-time Caps’ backup, Philipp Grubauer, the Avalanche have put another question mark next to Semyon Varlamov’s name. The Russian netminder has refused to stay healthy and/or consistent. He’s a volatile fantasy asset that few chase.
At this point, they’ll probably give Varly the opening night gig if both play reasonably well in preseason. Then it’ll be all about the hot hand. If one goes on a long enough roll, they’ll build up some goodwill with the coaching staff and likely gain a longer leash. Grubauer is my pick to finish with more starts but nothing is certain in the world of goaltenders – especially ones who haven’t ever been given the ball on a long-term basis. (sep15)
4. Mitch Marner is on the precipice of being an elite playmaker and a superstar in this league. The issue is that he doesn’t provide much in hits and isn’t a huge shot volume guy. He does shoot a fair amount but not to the level of guys like David Pastrnak or Rickard Rakell. I have him projected for 75 points but without huge shot volume or hits, he’ll be hard-pressed to return third-round value. (sep14)
5. Let’s get this out of the way: Nikolaj Ehlers is truly one of my favourite players to watch in the league. If he picks up the puck in his zone and gets up to full speed, there’s almost no one more fun. That said, like Marner, he doesn’t hit much. He also doesn’t get top power play minutes, which caps his upside significantly. In order for a player who doesn’t post big hit totals to return near a top-75 pick, he needs either A) a healthy amount of PPPs, or B) a healthy plus/minus. I’m not relying on plus-minus to return value on an early-round pick. (sep14)
6. All summer I’ve been saying that Vladimir Tarasenko will be undervalued going into 2018-19 and it appears this is the case. The underlying issue, of course, is whether his shoulder is completely healthy following surgery in April. Think of it this way: last year was a down year for Tarasenko, I think most people would agree on that. In standard Yahoo! setups, he was still a top-30 player. If you can draft him in the late second or early third round, do it. (sep14)
7. I want to discuss this year’s rookie crop. I’m not going to discuss every rookie, or even most rookies; you should grab the Dobber Prospects Report if you want a more detailed look at hundreds of players. Instead, I want to look at a handful of players who will be considered in drafts.
Back in July, I wrote about why I won’t be drafting Rasmus Dahlin this year. Let’s get into that. The first question is, will Dahlin get top PP minutes? We can assume that Buffalo will be running a four-forward again this year, so the question is if he will push Rasmus Ristolainen out of the way. Ristolainen is fifth among all defensemen in power play points over the last three seasons, ahead of names like Torey Krug, PK Subban, Drew Doughty, John Klingberg, and John Carlson. Say what you will of Ristolainen as a player in every other facet, he’s been the go-to for years on the PP blue line for the Sabres, and he’s been effective at doing so – Buffalo is eighth in PP goals over those three seasons, two goals fewer than San Jose and three goals more than Dallas, and seventh in PP percentage. Does that suddenly change this year? Why would it?
I’m working with the assumption that Dahlin, barring injury, will not supplant Ristolainen on the power play this year. So, if he’s not on the top PP unit, maybe he’ll have a season like Mikhail Sergachev, right? Well, Tampa Bay scored 3.15 goals per 60 minutes at even strength last year. Buffalo scored 2.03. That’s 75 fewer goals. Sergachev registered a point on 11.1 percent of all of Tampa’s even-strength goals. If Buffalo’s scoring doesn’t improve, to get to 24 even-strength points like Sergachev, Dahlin would have to register a point on 17.1 percent of Buffalo’s even-strength goals. For reference, Victor Hedman registered a point on 16.3 percent of Tampa Bay’s even-strength goals. You see how silly this is getting.
So, what if Buffalo’s scoring does improve? If the team scored 25 percent more goals at even strength, which is a huge leap, they’d still be bottom-10 in scoring if the league’s scoring remains constant. *If* the scoring jumps 25 percent at even strength, do you really want to draft an 18-year old defenseman with limited PP minutes from a bottom-10 scoring team?
I’m sorry, I just don’t see it. He may be the next Erik Karlsson, but to pay off his average draft position (ADP) right now (106) in standard Yahoo! leagues, assuming he doesn’t put up triple-digit hits, he’ll need a season like Alex Pietrangelo had last year. If he does put up triple-digit hits, he’ll need a season like Kris Letang had last year. This is all absurd. More rookies here … (sep13)
8. Elsewhere, a popular pick to be in the Calder contention as Rookie of the Year this season is Eeli Tolvanen. We’ve all heard about his exploits last season in the KHL. Hell, I dedicated a weekly space at the end of my DobberProspects’ Ramblings to shine a light on the bushel of goals he’d racked up over that stretch. However, his place in the Predators’ roster remains unclear.
No one is going to be pushing Filip Forsberg out of the top left-wing spot. He, Ryan Johansen and Viktor Arvidsson are a package until something fundamentally stops working. That leaves Tolvanen to battle it out with Kevin Fiala for the right to slide in beside Kyle Turris on the second line. Turris and Fiala formed a nice secondary wave of offense in Nashville last season. They both provide the strong two-way ability that Tolvanen still lacks. Fiala has been building the long way and his 23-goals a year ago could be just the tip of the iceberg.
If Tolvanen is unable to secure a spot in the top-six, his outlook from the third line and second power-play unit should be muted. As mentioned earlier, the Preds have enough talent to spread between two man-advantage units. The 2017 first rounder's release will be the focal point on the left circle, while Ryan Ellis’ blast will work the right side. That should be able to bump his numbers up but expecting much more than 40 points may be asking for trouble. (sep15)
9. Connor Murphy’s injury (out eight weeks with a back injury) improves the chances that 2017 first-round pick Henri Jokiharju makes the Blackhawks defense corps out of training camp. Keep in mind that Gustav Forsling is also expected to miss the start of the season with a wrist injury. Jokiharju scored 71 points in 63 games last season for the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL. (sep16)
10. We finally know more about Corey Crawford’s injury, and the news isn’t good. Crawford has been sidelined with a concussion and it doesn’t look like he’ll be ready for the start of the season. This isn’t good news for fantasy hockey owners who drafted him at a discount hoping that his ability would outperform his draft ranking, which had already fallen with the speculation that he still hadn’t recovered from a concussion. Crawford was having an impressive season (16-9-2, 2.27 GAA, .929 SV%), so this also isn’t good news for the Blackhawks’ playoff chances.
Cam Ward is worth taking a flier on in the later rounds of your draft but how effective will he be? Ward hasn’t had a save percentage above .910 over his past six seasons, so your expectations shouldn’t be high. This included a .906 save percentage in 43 games last season, which came in spite of the Canes allowing the fewest number of shots per game (28.9) of any team. The Hawks were a top-10 team in terms of shots allowed in 2017-18. With a defense that is led by the aging Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook, Ward will be in tough for improved numbers with his new team. (sep16)
11. The ‘Adam McQuaid to the Rangers for defenseman Steven Kampfer’ trade hurts Anthony DeAngelo’s fantasy value. I had traded DeAngelo away from my keeper team last season and that owner has since dropped him. It might still be too early to give up on him, since he’s only 23 as of next month and still possesses considerable upside from the blueline, but the former first-round pick is running the risk of disappearing down the same path as Derrick Pouliot. There’s considerable fantasy upside, but I can stand behind you replacing him if you can’t hold your breath much longer.
The Bruins are already used to life without McQuaid, as he missed half of last season. Considering that McQuaid didn’t play any kind of offensive role and neither should Kampfer, the move will probably only affect bottom-pairing defensemen. Jakub Zboril’s and Jeremy Lauzon’s chances of making the Bruins could improve slightly here, but without McQuaid the Bruins still have seven NHL-level defensemen on the roster (eight if you include depth defenseman Kampfer).
12. Mathew Barzal finished 2017-18 as the 60th overall player. He did that with 85 points. He’s currently being drafted in Yahoo! pools inside the top-50. I think Barzal is a great player but banking on a 90-point season with at least a break-even plus-minus just to return value is a lot. (sep11)
13. That Max Pacioretty would be traded was only a matter of if, not when, so the return was all that mattered. Pacioretty was shipped to Vegas for Tomas Tatar, a second-round pick, and prospect Nick Suzuki. Dobber had a pretty accurate take on the trade’s fantasy impact and most of his thoughts mirror my own.
I don’t have too much to add on top of what Dobber wrote other than this: Pacioretty was due to rebound regardless. For the last several years, Pacioretty was a top-end scorer and one of the most consistent ones at that; from 2011-17, Pacioretty and Alex Ovechkin were the only two players to score at least 30 goals in every 82-game season. The Habs’ captain had one bad season and now he’s gone. With the trade and subsequent extension (four years, $28-million), Pacioretty gets essentially a fresh start and a good situation in which to re-establish himself as one of the elite goal scorers in the league. (sep11)
14. I think the Pacioretty trade helps Tatar. Vegas might have accomplished something in dumping his $4.8 million contract but he’s scored at least 20 goals in each of his last four seasons. He might have been a healthy scratch for a good portion of the playoffs but he easily fits on the second line in Montreal and could even move onto the first line. On a better team, Tatar won’t ever see the first line. But ,the Habs had the league’s 29th-ranked offense last season (2.52 goals per game) and just traded a consistent (until last season) 30-goal scorer. Simply put, they don’t have a whole ton of options. (sep12)
15. Still with the Pacioretty trade, this does give the Habs the potential to run Jesperi Kotkaniemi-Suzuki-Ryan Poehling down the middle in the not-too-distant future, and that’s if Jonathan Drouin doesn’t work out as a center. This team went from desperately needing help down the middle to having three prospects that could all project as middle-six centers, plus Drouin (who should be on the wing anyway).
The issue here is that none of Kotkaniemi, Suzuki and Poehling are what we would deem as a generational center. A sure thing. A lock like Jack Eichel or Auston Matthews. Sure, Kotkaniemi could be the next Pierre-Luc Dubois, or he could be the next Tyson Jost. Suzuki could be the next Clayton Keller, or he could be the next Luke Kunin. Each of those four pivots mentioned were taken in the top half of the 2016 draft. Kunin was injured last year but the fact remains the same: the future is still uncertain for each of the next generation of Montreal centers. They’re lottery tickets, and for this team to be good in 2-3 years, they need at least 2-3 of them to pay off in a big way.
The trade should also lock Artturi Lehkonen to the top PP unit for Montreal. With the former captain around, Lehkonen looked to be on the outside looking in. But now, they can run the top unit with Brendan Gallagher in front, Max Domi in the bumper, Drouin on one half-wall and Lehkonen on the other, or something along those lines. The PP unit needs a trigger-man now and Lehkonen is best-suited for that role. They could also just replace Pacioretty with Tatar, in which case I will be one sad panda. (sep11)
16. Reader Rocky asks: “What is justin faulks value going forward. Getting hamilton, still have slavin, fleury/pesce getting better, jake beans coming?”
I have never been a fan of Justin Faulk and was really turned off from him last year. Getting Dougie Hamilton makes it even worse. I wouldn’t touch him with a 10-foot pole right now. If he gets traded then, he may have a resurgence for a couple of years. But I don’t trust him long-term and I don’t trust him with Carolina.
As for Jake Bean, he concerns me. Not only because his production went backwards last year despite being a man playing against teens, but also because of what analyst Jeff Marek said a few months back on his podcast about a certain recent first-round pick in junior hockey who was so addicted to video games that his GM didn’t think he would ever be an NHLer. When you look at all the prospects and the given criteria, you come up with four names that fit that mysterious description and Bean is one of them. I am not saying he is the prospect who loves his video games, I am just stating that he is one of four or perhaps five candidates who fit the described player speculated by Marek. That alone isn't enough to sway me but his production going backwards a bit in conjunction with that risk and frankly I just won't bother. (sep10)
17. Jack Eichel can be a 100-point player. He’s in that small club. And yes, the Sabres will get better, but he won’t even need them to as he can do it on his own. But what seem to potentially hold him down are all the injuries. If he can’t shake those he may never hit it. Not this year, though, let’s wait until he’s 24 or 25 and has a couple of 75- to 80-game seasons under his belt. (sep10)
18. Reader Tyler Bryant asks: “Best goalie call-ups for coming season are?”
Goalies who won’t make the team as the backup but would get called up if the starter or possibly both NHL goalies get hurt. The best one – Ville Husso. He won't be the backup but if Jake Allen gets hurt or crashes and burns, I can see Husso saving the day. He's the guy I'm targeting in the minors over anyone I listed above. He's in a promising spot right now.
Also: Carter Hart, Ilya Samsonov and Tristan Jarry. Further down the line are Eric Comrie and Thatcher Demko. Dark horse is Callum Booth, who would of course require both Petr Mrazek and Scott Darling to get injured – don’t be swayed by Booth’s weak numbers last year. The goalies who need injuries to both the starter and backup in order to get a real shot though are Husso, Hart, Demko and Booth. The others I listed will get that opportunity with just the one injury to the main guy. (sep10)
19. I have my Calder picks in the Fantasy Guide – the top 50. And if you look past the obvious ones in Rasmus Dahlin, Henrik Borgstrom, Casey Mittelstadt, Dylan Sikura, Andrei Svechnikov and Elias Pettersson, you have to rely on opportunity. If Player A gets hurt for 30 games, then Rookie B gets a shot and suddenly is in the Calder mix. I don’t think there will be any Yanni Gourdes this time around. I could list talented 19- and 20-year-olds all day long who ‘could’ make a splash, from Kailer Yamamoto to Eeli Tolvanen to Martin Necas. But, I think what you’re after are the older prospects. So for that I am eyeballing Valentin Zykov, Andreas Johnsson, Antti Suomela, Dominik Kahun (Chicago, a team desperate for wingers), and even Zach Aston-Reese. (sep10)
20. Reader Jeff Libonati asks: “do you think ekblad will put together a season worthy of his pedigree? is he going to turn into the next Pietrangelo?”
Yes, Aaron Ekblad will eventually put together a monster two-way season. No, I don’t think he has Alex Pietrangelo potential. Ekblad is a lesser Pietrangelo. From a points standpoint, I would say subtract 10 from AP to get AE. In fact, in terms of pure offensive talent for points, I think Mike Matheson is the future in Florida. I say this even though Matheson is getting minimal PP time and is being held back. He’ll break through that, give him two or three years, the talent will win out. (sep10)
Have a good week, folks!!

Ideas For Consideration Of Simple Systems Of Stevia Sweetened Iso Xp
A Background Analysis Of Deciding Upon Details For Grass Fed Whey Protein Canada
The first is Swerve®, a low-calorie sweetener made from erythritol (a sugar alcohol) and oligosaccharides, sweet fibers from fruits and vegetables. Unlike some artificial sweeteners, Swerve doesn’t spike blood sugar. The final ingredient is ProHydrolase®, a digestive enzyme blend that I’ll discuss in the next section. BioTrust Low Carb Benefits and Effectiveness With that many carbohydrates it’s far from the lowest carb protein powder I’ve seen (there are plenty with zero carbs), but the 4 grams of fiber it could make it more satiatingthan some of the extremely low carb powders out there. I think that’s also why more than a quarter of the protein content is casein. The brand seems to be targeting people trying to lose weight, and the fiber and the slow-digesting casein should help with satiety better than, say, a no-carb no-fat whey isolate. It’s also made from dairy sourced from free range cows that aren’t treated with antibiotics or hormones like rBGH, or rBST. Then there’s the digestive enzymes. ProHydrolase doesn’t say exactly what’s in their blend, which is annoying, but there are a lot of studies on their site that show it’s more effective than competitors at reducing digestive discomfort and reducing the amount of amino acids that get excreted out of the body, i.e. it helps you absorb more protein. They don’t provide the studies on their site, but they are available at request.

Building Mass In The Gym, Easy Methods Of Gaining.
Whether you've been working out for years or you are a novice, learning about fitness is to your benefit. Knowing how your body works and how to best improve your level of fitness can make a world of difference. If you stick to the information you just learned, you will get good results. Don't have a large chunk of time to devote to exercising? Make two smaller workouts by splitting your ordinary exercise routine. Do not increase the time you workout, but try to break it into a half. Rather than getting an hour's worth of running in at once, try half before work and half later in the day. If you would rather not visit your fitness center twice in a single day, you could do one workout at the gym and then do another workout outdoors. During your workout, ensure that you exhale after every weight rep. You can help the blood and oxygen flow throughout your body more efficiently by doing this. There are lots of different types of exercise routines and classes that keep you feeling energized and motivated. Switching things up will allow you a chance to discover classes you love and give you reason to keep heading back to the gym. Try a dancing class or spinning. Consider Jazzercise or boot camp. If you don't like a class, you don't have to go back, and you will have burned some calories. Treadmills and other forms of indoor exercise equipment are great, but they don't compare to exercising in the great outdoors. Although treadmills are especially convenient during the winter months, running outside on pavement is best. Always work out in comfortable clothes. If you attend a gym, you might feel a bit of pressure to wear the trendy clothing, but you're better off without it. Wear loose, comfortable clothes that allow you to move around freely. Wearing the correct clothing helps you put your emphasis on working out, not on your clothes. Most people need motivation to stay on their diet program, so they have to see and feel the results in order to keep going. Instead of stepping on the scales, keep some tight-fitting clothes around. Try on these clothes weekly as you are dieting, and you can really experience the transformation of your life. Want to make chin-ups easier? Changing the way you think about them can help. Visualize chin-ups as you drawing your elbows down towards your body, rather than pulling your whole body up. Changing your thinking in this way will change how you perceive chin-ups and increase the maximum amount you can do. Boost up the density of all your workouts to help you lose weight faster. If you exercise more in a shorter amount of time, you can see more weight loss. Either take shorter breaks between sets or just do "super sets" with no break between, resulting in maximum exercise density. Your weight loss will be increased by this method. When you are attempting to reach your fitness goals, it can be very helpful to give your trainer his or her payment prior to the start of the workout. That way, you are going to be likely to go to all your sessions, much more so than if you wait to pay after every workout. This is largely because the sessions are already paid for and not a recurring expense or bill hanging over your head. You are going to want to get what you paid for. It doesn't matter what kind of person you are; you can experience significant changes in your body by utilizing the tips you have just read. Learning as much as possible about fitness regimens can give you the best workout achievable. Apply everything that you learned today so that you can have a great looking body.

Things You Need To Know About Vitamins And Minerals
There is no better way to keep your body healthy than to understand what it needs. Even though a lot of people do their best to get and stay healthy, it is easy to miss some things. Do you know how to broaden your understanding of vitamins and minerals? The following article will give you the understanding you need. When it comes to having strong bones, calcium is key. In order for the body to be able to readily absorb calcium, your body must have ample levels of vitamin D. You can get vitamin D many ways, including sunlight, food, and supplements. Each of these things is a good way to make sure your body will absorb calcium. Fat containing supplements should be consumed with food, so it is important you take them during the time you eat. Vitamins E, K and A are examples of supplements that should only be taken with food because they are easier to absorb at that time. They work especially well when ingested with fatty foods like fish. Why does your body hurt so much? Instead of going to a doctor or a chiropractor to help with aches that are minor you should try vitamins and minerals out. Fish oils and vitamin E can help your muscles soften when they're bound up. If you want to have strong and abundant red blood cells, you must get enough iron. This helps to transport oxygen through the body. Women require more iron than men. This is why a woman should choose a multivitamin for women. If you are feeling exhausted or having trouble breathing, you may not be getting enough iron. If you want to stay healthy, add the right nutrients to your diet. Getting the right amount of nutrients will help you feel good and look good, while keeping you healthy. Most vegetables and fruits are packed with healthy nutrients that your body needs, but it is important to eat fresh rather than canned produce. You may also want to add a multivitamin to your diet. Living in a poor economy sometimes means we deprive our body of good nutrition by eating as cheap as possible at the local fast food restaurant. Use some proper vitamins to make sure that you are keeping your immune system strong and allowing your body's metabolism to stay at its peak. Remember Whey Protein that some vitamins and minerals, such as calcium carbonate, must be taken with food. Calcium citrate is able to be taken when your stomach is empty, but not calcium carbonate. If you do, it is unable to get absorbed. As people age, they tend not to absorb B12 as well. Some people make consume a lot of it but their body just can't absorb it well. The secret here is to get your levels tested annually and consider supplementation through shots if need be. Did you know that diets low in magnesium, omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D can lead to depression and depressive thoughts? Omega-3 fatty acids are among the most popular of all the supplements, and its popularity is well deserved. It supports the healthy of the brain and other things. You can help maintain a relaxed body with a magnesium supplement. Do not cook your vegetables. When you cook your food, you can cut back on the amount of vitamins you consume. If you are preparing vegetables, it is important that you steam them the right way to get a good taste without losing out on essential vitamins. Nutrients are also preserved in flash-frozen vegetables, but only if you do not cook them for too long. The most important part of your life is your body, so knowing what it requires is crucial. You need to know how supplements will affect your health. Learn more with this article. This is how you will keep your body in its best condition.

By providing an easy way to add and manage custom fields. To use the content analysis of Yoast SEO in these custom fields, you need a plugin: ACF Content Analysis for Yoast SEO. Optimize your site for search & social media and keep it optimized with Yoast SEO Premium »
Buy now » Info Why use Advanced Custom Fields?
Like the name says, the Advanced Custom Fields plugin, built by Elliot Condon, makes it easier to add custom fields to any WordPress site. While custom fields may sound boring on their own, they are used to extend WordPress. What’s more, people use them to build tailored solutions to, often, complex problems. Developers love these and use custom fields to develop new and exciting products on top of WordPress. By using custom fields, you can turn WordPress into a professional CMS that accomplishes all your needs perfectly.
What does the ACF Content Analysis for Yoast SEO plugin do?
The ACF Content Analysis for Yoast SEO plugin makes it possible for Yoast SEO to work inside custom fields. By using this plugin, you can use the SEO and readability analysis features of Yoast SEO to check your writing and SEO score, even if they live in a complex custom field.
Marcus Forsberg built the original ACF Content Analysis for Yoast SEO plugin. We later forked it to build our own solution. However, both plugins had trouble keeping up with the developments. Some time ago, we started a collaborative effort to make one, well-maintained, official ACF plugin for Yoast SEO. Viktor Fröberg, Marcus Forsberg, Thomas Kräftner and the great team at Angry Creative, helped us to merge two different ACF glue plugins and redevelop these into ACF Content Analysis for Yoast SEO. The team will update this plugin on a regular basis and offer continued support for ACF.
Version 2.0 of the plugin, available as of today, is rewritten from the ground up. It supports ACF 4 and 5. It offers stellar performance and supports more custom fields than ever.
Building something better, together
This is a collaborative effort. It is high time to put a spotlight on some of the team members that made sure two incredible WordPress plugins can start working together seamlessly.
Thomas Kräftner, freelance web developer:
“When Yoast SEO 3.0 came out I had a problem: I had just finished a site for a client that relied heavily on the now removed server-side analysis of content. Of course, the client wasn’t happy that all the work he paid for was wasted.
So we sat down and talked. I explained to them that they wouldn’t be the only ones with that problem. Instead of letting people reinvent the wheel, again and again, we should better make one generic solution. I proposed that my client would only pay a part of my development cost. In exchange, we’d make a completely free and open source plugin. And guess what – they thought this was a great idea!
I then also contacted Yoast, and at WordCamp Europe 2016 we agreed that they would also join in and help me maintain and support that plugin. It was a busy year, so it took until WCEU17 and also bringing Angry Creative on board to finally get us where we are today: The release of a true community built plugin.”
Viktor Fröberg, web developer at Angry Creative:
“At Angry Creative, we mainly do WordPress and WooCommerce development. As such, we often bump into both generic problems and specific problems that we fix by doing plugins. We also try to fix WordPress / WooCommerce core issues, but doing plugins helps us get solutions out there sooner rather than later.
We try to talk to our clients about the importance of open source and why this is valuable for them. A lot of our clients’ problems are shared problems, and by contributing our solutions to the community, our clients get free development time from other developers in the long run as they help improve the plugin. This pooling of resources benefits everyone.
This ACF Yoast SEO integration plugin was just like that. It was born out of a common need that almost all of our clients had. We’ve maintained it, and our clients have benefited from it. With the help of the awesome Thomas Kräftner and the Yoast crew the plugin is now better than ever, and together we’ll continue to improve it so that users can build their next big thing using WordPress with ease.”
Omar Reiss, CTO at Yoast:
“A collaboration like this is very dear to our heart. We get an incredible number of requests to add support for other plugins. At Yoast, we prefer such integrations to be backed by the community. We do our best to make it easy for third-party plugin developers to integrate with Yoast SEO. Whenever users request an integration, we mostly reach out to third-party plugin maintainers and offer our help and assistance in integrating with Yoast SEO. This works out well in many cases.
In this case, Marcus, Thomas and the folks at Angry Creative all separately leveraged the opportunity to create an integration between ACF and Yoast SEO. We happily brought everyone together to work on one integration to rule them all, reviewed, endorsed and distributed by Yoast, developed by the community.”
Open source driven development
The new ACF Content Analysis for Yoast SEO plugin is a solid piece of open source driven development. Ten developers from Sweden, Austria, and The Netherlands identified problems with the current implementation and stepped up to fix it. Working together with a fantastic team from around Europe and a shared open source mindset has made it possible for them to deliver fabulous work.
Open source is at Yoast’s heart. We try help others reach for the stars while continually improving our work. Projects like the ACF Content Analysis for Yoast SEO plugin give us the opportunity to learn from others and to contribute to the ever-expanding WordPress universe.
