bed chem.
pairing(s): quinn hughes x fem!reader
warning(s): fluff. mutual pinning. very slight slow burn. suggestive content. 18+.
wc: 1.5K
an: hi lovesss!!!! I present you with a new fic, finally. this song is loosely based off of "bed chem" by sabrina carpenter, and the one and only quinn hughes. this is one of my favorites, I'm really happy with how it turned out! I hope you all enjoy, like and reblog if you did :)
as always, much much love <3
He caught your attention in a room full of people, your eyes stuck to him like glue. Your eyes followed his every movement, watching him wordlessly from across the busy club. Watching how he interacted with the people around him, how his lips broke into a smile as he laughed at something someone said to him.
He, whoever he was, was beautiful. From his hair, eyes, smile, everything. Not to mention how his white fitted shirt looked on him. The fit was so perfect, it almost looked like it was painted on him. You felt like a creep looking at him, but you couldn't help it. There was just something about him that was almost addictive? Something bad, but yet so so good.
“Are you done staring at him like a creep, or are you gonna go over and say something?” your friend says besides you, snapping you out of daydream
“I wasn't looking..just observing” you say, clearing your throat, before taking a drink of the watered down cocktail in front of you in hopes to avert your gaze from the Greek god of a man in front of you.
“Well..he and his friends just looked over here and pointed.” she giggles from besides you
“Shit. Are you joking? Youve got to be joking right?” you whisper-yell to her in a state of panic
“Nope,” she says, popping the p.
“Oh god, yn they're coming over here now.” she says frantically
“Oh my god” you say, moving to sit up straighter in your seat. Your eyes move to follow the very attractive man and his friends make their way over to you guys.
“Shit he is hot, and so are his friends.” your friend gushes out besides you
“Shut it, act normal, talk to me about something.” you say quickly, your eyes flickering to the men who are moving in closer.
Your friend starts talking to you about something random, but you can't concentrate on her words. Your mind is locked in the man approaching, that you can't gather another thought about anything else, as you watch them in the corner of your eye. Just as they are about to reach the table, another large group of men cuts in front of them. Wrapping each of the men into hugs, yelling and smiling as they interact, with what you assume are their friends.
“Youve got to be kidding me” she says, stopping mid sentence of her empty word ramble.
“ well..thats, that i guess” you sign out, looking as the men pull each other to the bar in the opposite direction.
“Guy in the white shirt is looking at you, look up look up.” she says slapping your arm
Quickly reacting, pulling your head up. Your eyes find him quickly, as he looks back at you. Sending you a quick wink and smirk before he turns around following his friends.
“Oh my gosh. Yn he so wants you”
“I don't even know if i'll see him again”
“Never say never.”
You giggle at her opsitism, before throwing the rest of your drink back, hopping out of your seat, moving to grabher hands pulling her towards the dance floor.
“Come on! We came to have fun, right?” you shout at her, as you two giggle walking hand in hand to the dance floor.
–
After lots of fun, maybe too much fun and a few more drinks later. You finally make your way back to your hotel. You come back solo you might add, your friend being pulled away by a hot mysterious man who caught her attention. Leading her to follow him out of the club with a wide smile on her face.
Sighing deeply as you stare at your shoes waiting for the elevator door to open, a few moments later a loud ding signals in the opening. Heading in quickly, and hitting your floor. Leaning your exposed back against the cool elevator door, the only thing on your mind is taking off your shoes, and washing a somewhat disappointing night out away.
Just as the elevator is about to close, you hear a man shouting to hold the door. Pushing yourself off the wall to hit the open button. The out of breath man quickly moves in, as you look up to ask him what floor he needs, you're face to face with, hot fitted white shirt man, who's staring at you with widened eyes.
“What floor do you need?” you ask quietly, struggling to find your words.
“Um, 69 please, oh wait you've already pressed that.” The man finally speaks to you, his deep voice filling the now closed elevator.
“You're the girl from the club tonight.” he says looking over at you from across the elevator.
“And you're the guy” you say
“Felt you looking at me, the whole night” he says, his words causing a blush to rise to your cheeks as you look back down at your shoes.
“Don't be embarrassed, i was looking too.” he continues
“I saw” you spoke
“Almost had you too” he says
“Almost..” you repeat to him softly, your gaze flickering between his lips and eyes.
“Well we’re here now” he replies
“You have 9 floors to make something happen..” you trail off
“Quinn. My names quinn” he says
“Yn. my names yn”
“Well yn i only need 2 floors to make this happen” quinn says, quickly making his way over to you. One of his hands meeting your hip as the other holding your face, pulling you into him, your lips connecting as one.
The motion happens so quickly you barely have time to register what your body is doing until you're kissing him back quickly. Your hands tangle themselves into his hair as you pull yourself into his body.
You two are so wrapped up into each other that you don't even realize the elevator has stopped, the door opening slowly.
Quinn pulls back, his lips swollen as he looks down at you. “How was that for something yn?” he says, dropping his gaze down to you.
“I think i might need you to show me a bit more” you whisper
“Oh really?” he says as he slowly pulls you out of the elevator.
“Mhm” you mumble to him
“Lead the way” he says, dropping his hand from you, waiting on your next move.
You take a second to take him in natural light. Everything about him is intoxicating, you need more. No matter the cost, or how bad of an idea it could be. You don't care, not right now. Before you can give it a second thought, you're pulling him by his hand by your room. Your steps are quick, your body hot with need.
Reaching your room quickly, dropping Quinn's hand, as you start searching for your key card, you feel Quinn's hot body against yours. His lips finding your neck and his hands back on your hips as he pulls you back against him. Your movements began to halter as he began to get lost in his touch.
“Quinn..you have to get off me for 30 seconds so i can open the door”
“Mhm. I know, but I'm getting impatient. I've wanted you all night.” he says against your neck, his warm breath sending chills down your body.
“You wanna know what i've thought about and what i'm thinking about right now? Hm?” he asks
“Yes, yes tell me” you gasp out, your hands trying to move quickly, still in search of the key.
“How the dress would look on the floor, how your body would look against mine. How youd look all fucked out for me in my bed” he says, his lips tight to your ear.
Just as he finishes his sentence, your hands grasp the key card in your purse. Pulling it out quickly, and tapping it against the door aggressively, pushing the door open as soon as it buzzes open.
Quinn moves quickly, pushing you in slamming the door, and before you know it his lips are against yours as if they never left. You're quick to turn him around, your hands moving against the buttons on his shirt as he hits the bed, pulling you on top of him; your lips never once leaving each other.
“You're dangerous” quinn says pulling away from your lips
“Why's that?” you ask, your hands still working to unbutton his shirt.
“I've barely had any of you, and i dont think ill ever get enough” he says looking at you
“Who said you ever have to stop, we’re just getting started” you say while unbuttoning the last button on his shirt before pushing it off his shoulders.
Quinn responds with a look and a small smirk and you know what that means.

Pairing: Eddie Munson x Reader
Summary: friends-to-lovers, mutual pining, lots of parallels, reader is a lil down on herself but don't worry, eddie is down bad for her.
Warnings: swearing, mentions of weed and smoking, smut!! 18+, minors DNI.
AN: do i write 90% of my fics based on what pops into my head when i hear a certain song? yeah. also this is only half edited bc life. enjoy bbs <3
“Okay, okay,” You laughed. “One more hit then I’m tapped out, Eds.”
Eddie grinned, speaking through a half-held breath. “Oh no, Sweetheart. New stuff hittin’ a little too hard?”
You inhaled deeply, passing back to him what was left of the joint. It went straight to your head, and you flopped back, laying comfortably on Eddie’s bed.
Eddie inhaled, following suit, making your body bounce as he hit the mattress.
“Shit,” he mumbled. “Feel like I’m fuckin’ flying.” He grips your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours. “Don’t let me float away, okay?”
You smile at him, taking in how fucking beautiful he looks under the dim lights in his bedroom.
“Never. You’re stuck with me, Eds.”
He looks down at you, a smirk pulling at the corner of his mouth. He took you in like he'd done 100 times before. Eyes trailing from your nose, to your eyes, landing at your mouth.
So fucking beautiful.
“Good," he breathes, pulling you in closer. "Just the way I like it.”
Eddie let go of you hand, only to wrap his arm around you and pull you into his chest. He placed a kiss to the crown of your head, "This okay?"
It's all I want. You think.
"Or do we have to get up and go watch that cheesy chick-flick I promised we'd watch.
You sighed, fiddling with the hem of your denim skirt. "I'd stay here all night if you let me."
That's all I want. He thinks.
Eddie leans back a bit, looking down at you. He's not sure if it's the weed making his so emotional, but he swears he could cry just looking into your eyes. "What am I gonna do if one of these dates you keep going on works out? What if someone takes you from me?"
He tries to sound relaxed, but the truth is, the thought keeps him up at night. There’s gonna be a guy that steals you away from him one of these days. Someone who can give you everything he can’t, someone brave enough to open their mouth and tell you just how much they love you.
and it'll crush him.
The laugh that escapes you is a cynical one, "Eddie, I've been on three dates with three different men, and I've gone home alone each time."
"So?" He asks.
"So," You scoff. "It means no one is interested in doing anything with me."
It’s true—to you at least. The guys you’d gone out with were either not looking to be tied down, or ran once they met you. The last guy thought you’d be easy because ‘the freak’s best friend has to be a freak herself right?’
The dates were a distraction for you. As your heart pined over the one guy you could have it all with, it was breaking too. Eddie hadn’t made a move on you—ever, and you weren’t brave enough too.
So the two of you sat in limbo, completely unaware that the other person was right there with you.
Eddie sits back, releasing you from his arms. "Why do you do that?"
"Do what?" You ask, sitting back as well.
"That. Act like you're the problem, and not these shitty fucking dudes you keep going out with.” Eddie tried to control his tone, but his temper got the better of him. He cursed at himself for it.
Jesus H. Christ, Munson, get it together.
You push back from him fully now, "Eddie, the common denominator is me. I-I'm fucking broken or something."
“Stop that.” He seethed.
It’s a command—a tone you've heard him use with Steve, or Dustin, but not you.
Never with you.
Eddie stood as you sat up, hanging your legs off the edge of the bed.
"What--"
He turned back and got to his knees right in front of you.
“Stop talking about yourself like that. It’s fucking ridiculous.”
He was close to you, and with him on his knees, his gaze was just at your eye level. “You’re not broken. There's nothing wrong with you, you’re—you’re fucking perfect.”
“Eddie…”
“No, no, just…just shush for a second.” Eddie moved his hand to your cheek, his thumb sweeping across it gently. “You think all this shit about yourself and it’s just not fucking true. I wish, for a second, you could see yourself how I see you. I fucking adore you.”
You feel the warmth of his breath on your nose. His large hand on your cheek warms you, and you lean into the touch, closing your eyes.
Everything is Eddie in this moment. He’s invading every sense you had.
It’s overwhelming.
You can feel your eyes brim with tears. “You don’t have to say that, Eds. I’m okay. I’m just…I’m lonely, that’s all.”
Eddie’s breath caught in his throat. He watched you, he saw the tears hidden beneath your lashes. How could you not see it? See how you were…everything to him?
His mind stopped for a moment, deciding whether or not to take the leap, to risk it all and not run for once.
Fuck it.
“I’m right here, Princess. I’ve been right here.” He leans his forehead on yours.
You exhale his name, “Eddie,”
“What,” he’s quick to ask. “What is it, Sweetheart?”
Your on fire with how close he is to you. But he doesn’t mean it, not in the way you hoped he would…does he?
Your eyes open, seeing his beautiful brown ones searching your face for some kind of clue as to what you’re feeling. You clasp your hand on top of his. “Please,” you beg. “Please don’t say things you don’t mean just to make me feel better. My heart can’t take it.”
He laughs softly, bringing his other hand up. He’s cradling your face gently, “Oh, Honey. You have no idea just how much I mean it.”
Eddie is overwhelmed with you. You’re everywhere, and he can’t fucking think straight. Probably a good thing right about now, because he’s about to do something he never thought he’d be lucky enough to do.
“Can,” he clears his throat. “Can I kiss you, Baby?”
With zero hesitation, you nod, earning a chuckle from Eddie.
“Gotta use your words, sweet thing.”
“Yes,” it comes out as a plea. “Kiss me...please.”
Warm warm warm.
It’s all you feel when he leans in. Then his soft lips are on yours, all the while he’s holding you as if you’d be the one to float away.
Eddie kisses you like he’s done it a thousand times. Like he knows your lips and the pattern that drives them crazy. He’s trying to tell you everything he’s been too afraid to say since the moment he met you.
There’s no one but you.
You’re everything.
I love you, please, let me love you.
Regrettably, you pull away. Breathless from the kiss, but also how surreal this moment is.
“I-I,” you sigh, touching your forehead to his. “I’ve wanted to do that for forever.” It comes out as whisper. As if you’d scare him away if you said it too loud.
Eddie smiles, a relieved laugh passing his lips. “Yeah?”
You nod, “Yeah.”
It’s quiet for a beat, Eddie is looking at you so softly and with such care.
“You’re so beautiful.” He says with all of the conviction in the world. “My pretty girl.”
“Am I?” You ask. “Am I yours?”
He nods, "If you want to be." He moves his hands, resting one on each thigh. He rubs them absentmindedly, likes he's trying to flatten the goosebumps that had prickled across your skin. “...and I’m yours. You've got me, Honey.”
Eddie's grin was still a shy one. You brush your hand across his face, pushing back any stray hairs. "Eds?"
He grips your wrist gently, placing small, tender kisses along the inside of it. The gesture is so simple, but it sends a heat through you like you've never experienced before.
"What is it, pretty girl? Whatever you want, whatever you need...it's yours."
You intertwine your fingers with his smoothly, "You, Eddie. Need you. Wanna make you feel good, Eds."
Now it was his turn to get goosebumps.
"Fuck, Angel. You can't just say that to me." He breathes.
Your bedroom eyes blink twice, "Please?"
A strangled moan vibrates from his chest, "Who am I to deny the fair maiden what she asks for?" Eddie stands, holding out a hand for you.
You're pulled to your feet by him, and he's looking at you through a brand new set of eyes. "One problem with that though, Princess. You come first."
You gasp as his hands take purchase of your ass, pulling you into him. "If anything, and I mean anything is too much, or too weird, you tell me, okay?"
You're nodding again, and he tuts at you. "Uh-uh. Words, baby."
Your arms fall around his neck and you press your body against his. "Yes, sir."
"Ho-ly-shit." He moans. "Yeah, I'm gonna kiss you now. Cool? Cool."
He's hungrier this time, kissing with teeth and tongue as his roaming hands explore your body.
"Eddie, Eddie..." You breath through swollen lips. "Too many clothes."
"You a mind reader or something?" He jokes, ripping the t-shirt from his body. His body was a work of art in more ways than one, and seeing it now, like this, made you crave it all the more.
You watch as Eddie falls to his knees, "Can I?" He asks, pulling at your skirt.
"God, yes."
He unbuttons the fastener, pulling the distressed denim down until it's pooling at your ankles. Eddie then came face to face with your black-lace covered heat.
"I-I'm dead right? I've died and now I'm at the pearly gates."
Your hands cover your face, "Eddie! Stop!"
He stands quickly, "No, baby, no. God, please don't hide from me." He pulls your hands away gently.
Your shirt is next to go, and so is the matching bra. Eddie pulls his pants down, leaving his boxers on.
"Lay down for me, Princess. Wanna take care of you.”
The timber of his voice makes you tremble. Once your comfortable on the bed, Eddie climbs on too.
“Now, I know this is all new, and we’re figuring things out as we go, but…” Eddie pauses, laying on his stomach between your legs.
He starts kissing his way up your legs. “I’ve been dreaming of eating this pussy for a long, kiss, long, kiss, long time.”
You’re so turned on you can barely speak, but you manage to get out a quiet. “Well what are you waiting for?”
Your thong is thrown into parts unknown, and Eddie starts to feast like a man starved.
“Eddie, fuck—“ his tongue explores your heat. His hands hold onto your hips as you grind down onto his mouth.
“Uh-uh, don’t hold back. Wanna hear you, Princess.” He dives back in, lips sucking on your clit, pushing you closer and closer to the edge. He slips in one, the two fingers. Pumping and curling them slowly until he finds the spot that makes you see stars.
The fire in your belly is growing and you feel your legs start to shake. “Holy fuck, Eds—Eds I’m gonna cum!” Your hands take purchase in his hair, giving it a sharp tug as you feel the heat engulf you.
Eddie eats your pussy, drinking you in as you cum.
“Shit, I’m sorry!” You release your grip on his hair as you come down from your high.
Eddie crawls up your body, kissing you. You taste yourself all over his tongue. “Don’t be sorry, Baby. Let’s me know you’re enjoying yourself,” he kisses you once more. “Plus, I kinda like it.”
You’re both breathing heavy.
Now it’s his turn.
Your hands touch his shoulder, pushing him gently. “What’re you doing, pretty girl?” He asks softly.
When Eddie’s leaned back against the headboard, you pull his boxers off. Pink, uncut cock springing from it's confines.
God damn...he's fucking huge.
"Gonna ride you, Eds. Let you feel what you did to me." You climbed on top of him, "Can I do that? Can I make you feel good?"
Eddie's nodding, not sure what part of you he wants to look at more.
"Uh-uh," you tease. "Use your words, Handsome."
"Fuck," He breathes. He palms your bare chest, moving the pads of his thumbs over your nipples. "Do whatever you want to me, use me, I'm yours." He leans forward, hot mouth latching to your other breast.
You sit up, allowing Eddie's hard length to slip inside your aching cunt. The sheer stretch and size is enough to snatch the breath from your lungs.
"Eds...Eds, shit. S'big." You moan.
His eyes close as he bottoms out inside of you, "So tight. Fuckin' pussy was made for me, she wants my cock. Won't let it go. She greedy, baby?"
You adjust to his size filling the void inside you. Eddie hold your hips as you begin to ride him, helping you to keep a steady rhythm.
"Look at you, Princess. Cock-drunk already, hm?" He teases.
Eddie is whispering praises as he fucks up into you.
Such a good girl.
Taking me so well.
My pretty girl.
Mine.
Eddie's pace quickens, and you feel the tremble return to your legs.
"Eddie, fuck, I--"
"I know, Honey. I can feel it, feel you squeezin' me. Let go, Angel. Go on, cum for me."
His words are like a spell.
You cum harder than you did on his mouth, and this time, it's his cock that's drenched in your essence.
"Gonna cum, Sweetheart. Where--"
You're entirely lost in everything Eddie. "Inside me, Eds. Fuck, please cum inside me."
"Shit, shit, shit." Eddie's moves become erratic. Sloppy thrusts chasing his release, and when he does, he all but growls in your ear.
He's breathless and spent, but his arms wrap around you. Eddie holds you, softening inside you. He kisses the center of your chest, the trail making its way across your shoulder, up your jaw, and to your lips.
"Hi." He says quietly.
You giggle softly, "Hi."
"So uh, not sure if this is a good time or not..."
You kiss his nose, "Hmm?"
"I-I...I love you. I don't know, just felt like someone should tell you, might as well be me." Eddie's big brown eyes search your face for any sign of regret or discomfort.
Nothing.
You kiss him deeply, "I'm glad you told me, otherwise I'd be sitting over here, in love with you, looking all silly by myself."
Eddie holds you tighter. "You, you love me?"
You giggle, "Edward Munson. I love you."
He pulls you closer, "You love me." It's a statement now.
Eddie lays his head against your bare chest. "I'm gonna get you cleaned up in a second, Sweetheart. Just wanna hold you for a little."
Rubbing small circles on his back, you kissed the top of his head. "I'm not going anywhere, Handsome."

been thinking ab joao and reader hooking up behind his teammates backs'... like they've been "involved" for a while but sometimes the tension is too much and they have to sneak away iykwim ;)
sneaky - j.f. x reader
a/n : omfg anon ur gonna be the death of meeeeeee!! also i made this kinda long since i havent posted in a while, oops..
pairing : joao felix x fem!reader
word count : 2.3k
summary : joao and u prefer to keep your love life private, secret even, but the the flirty looks and knowing smirks from across the room are becoming unbearable.
cw : smut obv, lil bit of alejandro x reader, sneaky joao and reader, unprotected sex (wrap it b4 u tap it ppl), make outs, cursing, me not bothering to accent his name lol sorry
---
you were starting to regret going out to dinner with your friend alejandro and his teammates.
the only reason why being that one of his teammates had become more.
hooking up with joao felix on the down low has been fun, you won't lie. and while you enjoy sneaky quickies and flirty messages, there were times where you wish you could just tear off his clothes and fuck that smug smile right off his face.
you were currently sitting in a restaurant, a private room and table was booked for alejandro, his barcelona teammates, and their plus ones. you and alejandro had become inseparable ever since you met in spain a few years ago, and you had grown increasingly close to his teammates.
very close to a certain mr felix.
the first time you met joao, it wasn't anything magical, you just thought he was fit. alejandro had introduced you to him when he came on loan to barca recently, and you just couldn't get him out of your head.
it seems that the feelings were mutual, as that very same night he followed you on instagram. you, of course, played it cool and took your time following him back (you waited like 10 seconds).
from there, you two messaged often, especially after the team would hang out.
joaofelix79 : u got home safe?
ynsusername : ofc i did
ynsusername : alejandro wouldn't let anything happen to me
joaofelix79 : that's good.
you two started messaging more, sometimes even calling each other late in the night. you couldn't explain why, maybe he was just fun to talk to.
you would complain to him about work, and he would complain about a mistake he made in training.
eventually, you two started hanging out alone.
not anything crazy, of course.
joaofelix79 : hey
joaofelix79 : js noticed im about to drive by ur place
joaofelix79 : wanna get some ice cream? my treat
how could you refuse that?
it wasn't all that shocking to you when a surprise ice cream date turned out into a steamy make out session on a bench in a park in the middle of the night.
"we should stop, someone might see us.." you murmured against the portuguese boy's lips, you yourself making no effort to.
"ok, if that's what you want." he pulled away from you, his fluffy hair disheveled thanks to you.
"5 more minutes" you placed your lips on his again, feeling him smile against them.
from there, weekly hangouts became almost nightly. he would pick you up in his car, and you would drive anywhere. you just needed an excuse to make out. you even put your number in his phone.
eventually, joao grew tired of the make outs that led to nothing, and you did too.
12:03 am - joao : wyd
12:03 am - you : was ab to put some instant noodles in the microwave lol
12:04 am - joao : dont bother
12:04 am - joao : come eat at my place
12:05 am - joao : i ordered uber eats
of course, you went, and you two ate the chinese takeout he bought. you two sat and laughed together at his attempt at using chopsticks.
and then you found yourself perched on his kitchen counter, him in between your legs while he rammed into you mercilessly. you left red marks across his back and biceps.
"my god, you feel amazing, querida." joao's words were muffled as his head was nuzzled into your neck, his lips caressing your hot skin with every word he spoke.
"i'm so fucking close, joao.." you whined and whispered curses while your hands found themselves travelling from his arms to his hair, tugging on the soft brown locks.
"let go, y/n, i'm close too!" he removed his flushed face from your neck and connected your lips together again, breathing heavily into your mouth.
you came undone with a sharp whine, arching into him. his thrusts became sloppy as he let out a long groan against your lips, releasing into the condom.
that was the first time you two had fucked, and it definitely would not be the last.
his house was usually where you two would hook up because it was so big, and you didn't have to worry about anything when you were there.
you two fucked anywhere - on the bed, in the shower, on the couch, even in the laundry room.
you found that it didn't really matter where you were. if either of you were craving the other, it happened right then and there. it was fun. it kept you on your toes, kept things fresh and fun.
but it became a curse when you two were at a team dinner.
---
"si, i told him he could go fuck off if that was what he wanted. that guy needs to learn some manners, for fucks sake!"
the table erupted in laughs as pedro went on about some story that you weren't really paying attention to to be honest. you were sat right beside your good friend, alejandro, who was very intrigued in pedro's story and hadn't spoken to you more than twice this evening.
across from you was joao. he was wearing a black dress shirt that hugged his biceps perfectly along with black dress pants. of course, to make your life more difficult, the top two shirt buttons weren't done up.
one more open button and everyone would've seen the hickey you gave him the other-
"isn't that right, y/n?"
alejandro was speaking to you, and you were too busy staring at joao's biceps to hear him.
"hmm? sorry?"
"i said, it was you who i walked in on dancing silently in the darkness darkness of your room, right?" alejandro smirked at the sight of your cheeks going red, this memory being nothing short of embarrassing to you.
"yup, that- uh- that was me..!" you looked down in humiliation as the table giggled at alejandro's unexpected story about you. he loved embarrassing you, it was his thing. he found it fun because he thought of you like a little sister.
you looked up to see joao, laughing along with everyone else at the table, finding amusement in your misery. you shot him a playful glare.
"i'm only teasing, mi corazón." alejandro chuckled before ruffling your hair. "ale!" you whined, fixing your hair. his friends teased you. they all thought of you as their little sister, especially you being one of the younger ones.
the men continued on with their conversations as you continued looking at joao from your end of the table, only this time, he was looking at you too.
he was taking a slow sip of his water, eyeing you down.
joao wasn't the only one dressed all sexy tonight. you wore a short black satin strapless dress that hugged your figure perfectly. you thought of joao when you picked it out, you thought of him while putting it on, and you thought of him taking it off.
it seems that joao had the same thought. the way he looked at you from under his lashes gave you the impression that your outfit choice was a smart one.
you sent him a quick wink.
he smirked and dropped his eyes to your cleavage, widening them.
you rolled yours before continuing to eat your steak.
---
you couldn't take it anymore.
something the way he laughed with everyone at the table, his hair flowing when he turned his head. he had on a gold rolex and a gold chain, both glistening under the lighting over the table.
it was the way he carried himself with such confidence. he knew he was hot, and he knew you knew it too. that confidence definitely carried over into bed.
finally, you got up from the table, excusing yourself to "make a call".
shooting joao a quick look, he took the hint. his eyes followed you, watching you exit the restaurant and head towards the parking lot. after an agonizing 30 seconds or so, joao told everyone he forgot something in his car, and made a beeline to where he saw you last.
he saw you standing outside his car, waiting for him. he made his way towards you.
"so, who did you have to call?" he teased, his eyes waiting for your reaction. you scoffed and rolled your eyes, "very funny.".
you wrapped your arms around his neck, bringing him closer to you as you leaned against his car. he smiled down at you before looking over your figure.
"nice dress.."
"just take it off."
---
you two had squeezed into the back of his car, leaving nothing but surrounding street lights as your light source. you straddled his waist, rocking your hips while you smashed your lips against his. you two were breathing heavily, occasionally breaking the kiss to huff and puff before going back at it again.
joao's arms were wrapped tightly around your waist, his right hand occasionally sliding down to cup and smack your ass. his actions made you yelp into the kiss. your arms were everywhere. cupping his face, on his shoulders, in his hair, on his chest, on his abs.
it was like you two hadn't seen each other in years. like you were drowning and the only way to breathe was.. this.
your smooth rocking of the hips created a hard bulge in joao's pants which felt great on your throbbing clit. he groaned into the kiss, breaking it for you to breathe and to leave kisses down your neck.
"so, fucking, horny" he broke each word with a kiss. you moaned above him. "you can't even last one dinner party without my hands all over you?" you wanted him to shut up, so you grabbed his face in your hand and smashed your lips against his.
you started unbuttoning his shirt, but your hands were too shaky to do it quickly. "take this off, god damnit!" you groaned as he laughed and began unbuttoning it himself. you hiked your dress up and helped him with the last few buttons.
you moved his shirt partially off him, leaving it on his arms since you couldn't be bothered. you leaned down to kiss his chest while looking up at him. he was smiling down at you, hands rested behind his head.
he brought you back up to pull the top of your dress down just enough so that your tits would pop out. when they did, he licked his lips. now it was his turn to lean down and suck on them, making you tilt your head back and pant.
"joao, we dont have time for this-"
"shhh, patience princesa. don't worry." he went back to sucking.
"they're going to realize we're gone- joao!"
he couldn't bring himself to leave your tits alone, but when he did, you quickly reached down and undid his belt , not even bothering to pull it off.
"estás mesmo excitado, não é?" (you're really excited, aren't you?)
you nodded and bit your lip.
he unzipped his pants and pulled his hard cock out of his boxers. you raised yourself up on your knees and hovered over his dick. he held it up with one hand, the other resting on your hip.
"are you ready for me?" he teased.
"enough questions." you cut his teasing short as you took his cock in your hands yourself and sunk down on him.
joao hissed at the unexpected pleasure. he looked up at you, gasping for air above him before tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
"move for me, bebé."
you did as you were told, lifting your hips up until just the tip of him was left in you, before sinking back down on him, agonizingly slow.
he shuddered at the feeling.
you picked up the pace, causing the car to rock. your tits bounced in his face, causing him to twitch inside you.
"fuck, y/n, you're amazing-" you laugh breathlessly above him, your hands resting on his shoulders for stability while his gripped your hips tightly.
after some time, your thighs were burning, and you were getting tired. joao picked this up, taking control. his grip on your hips was put to some use as he moved your hips up and down for you. he lifted and dropped you so easily and made you move so much faster. you felt the air leave your lungs and arched your back to stick your tits in his face.
he grinned as he thrusted his hips up, meeting you in the middle. he tilted your body back, and started to hit the spot inside you that made you see white.
your pants and gasps turned into moans and whines as you felt the bundle of heat in your core.
"joao, i'm close" you warned, your nails digging into his shoudlers.
"i'm right there with you, baby, oh," he groaned and grunted as he watched him drill into you faster and faster. "meu deus, foda-se!" (my god, fuck!) he hissed with gritted teeth as he felt you clench around him.
his pace was too much for you to hold back. you let go with a gasp and moan, your hand slamming and sliding down the steamy car window, leaving a print.
joao was, indeed, right there with you. he pulled your body off of him and set you down on his thighs hastily before stroking his red, throbbing cock, cumming all over your stomach with a string of grunts and pants.
you both sat there in the hot and dark car in disbelief, covered in sweat and panting, after having the most mind blowing sex you've ever had. you leaned your forehead against his and smiled. he chuckled before teasing you once more.
"let's go. we don't want to miss dessert, do we?"

Reader never came from just oral. Joost takes on the challenge.
Explicit RPF below
"You know I actually never do this." you motion in between you two. "Having sex a few hours after meeting someone."
You are in bed with a stranger you met at a party. You had a mutual friend, so it did make you let your guard down and feel more at ease with him. Besides the conversation with him went so easy, like you knew each other for ages.
He couldn't take his eyes off of you the entire evening. All of his close friends were at that same party, but he spent the whole time talking to you. Every time he made you smile, it felt like the biggest win. He listened to your every word, drinking in every bit of information you offered, brought you drinks whenever you were thirsty, gave you his jacket when he noticed goosebumps on your skin. The definition of "If he wanted he would".
"Me too." he is on top of you, holding himself on his forearms, his face only a few inches from yours. "We can stop whenever you want."
"No-no, I want this." you say. "Do you?"
"So much." you feel his breath on your lips. "Besides I think my want is pretty obvious." he looks down at his crotch, you follow his gaze to see a bulge in his pants. You want to touch him, he notices your shyness, as he takes your hand and places right over his clothed cock, his jeans getting so uncomfortable.
You move your hand up and down him feeling the length of him. He hides his face in the crook of your neck, moaning, letting you hear it.
He kisses your neck, right under your ear, inhales the scent of your hair, it is all too much for him. He has never felt so entranced by a person. Every thought is spilling out of his mouth into your ear, like he can't control it, he tells you how soft you feel under his hands, how good you smell, how much he wants you. Your back arches while he moves his hands slowly under your top.
He moves further down your body, biting your collarbone, making you gasp.
"Too much?" he asks lifting his head.
"Not enough." you tangle your fingers in his hair pulling him closer.
A smile spreads across his face as he continues to kiss down your chest, hiding his face in the valley of your breasts, still covered by your top. His hand moves from your waist to palm your tit, you hear him exhale into your chest, enjoying the soft feeling under his hands as he continues to squeeze your boob.
You want to feel more of him, you start bunching up his t-shirt on his back, trying to get to the hem and take it off him. He quickly sits up and takes off the t-shirt, you only have a second to catch a glimpse of his hairy chest and a silver cross necklace, before he dives back to you, placing a kiss on your stomach, his hands on your hips, looking up at you, to see if you are okay.
You pull him closer to you for a kiss, before he gets lower. The kiss doesn't last long, when he separates and goes back to moving down your body, but you bring him back into another kiss.
"Am I that good at kissing?" he chuckles. "What's up?" he can sense something is wrong.
"Nothing." you sound unsure, he lifts his eyebrow. "No, it's just it doesn't feel good to me. I can never cum from guys going down on me." you say, looking at your hands, playing with a hem of your top. "There must be something wrong with me. So, don't worry. Let's just skip it."
"What?" he is confused. "It doesn't feel good?"
"I mean, a little, but it never gets me there."
He looks at you trying to process what you said, but then a playful smile starts to spread on his face. "I think those guys just weren't me." his voice cocky, as he leans in closer to you. "Can I please try?" he looks into your eyes, you see a glint in them.
"Joost, it's okay. Really." you place your hands on his shoulders.
"Schat, I feel like I'm going to die if I don't eat you out now." he looks at you with the biggest puppy eyes.
You laugh. "You are so weird." you take a second to look at him. "Okay."
He immediately leans into your neck placing messy open mouthed kisses, earning a surprised moan from you. He kisses your collarbones, his hands sliding under your top, as he looks up at you. "Can I take it off?" you nod and help him get rid off the clothing, leaving you in your bra. "And this?" he says in between kisses down your chest, his hands splayed on your back.
"Yes." you reply. He undoes the clasp of your bra, the straps falling off your shoulders, he throws the bra to the side, revealing you to him. His eyes are trained on your chest, he leans in to place kisses all over your boobs, leaving a few hickeys.
"Joost. Please." you push your chest into his face. He gets the message and wraps his lips around your nipple, playing with it with his tongue, proceeding to suck in, while his other hand grazes the other nipple gently with his nail and proceeds to pull and twist it. You are a whining mess under him already, all of your noises going straight to his dick. But he is determined to take his time with you, get ready for his mouth.
He pulls off your nipple with a pop and looks proud at it swollen and wet. He moves to the other nipple repeating his actions. You feel yourself get more and more wet, lifting your hips into his for friction. He moans against your chest. He likes that you are so needy for him already.
"You are so beautiful." he looks up at you at the same time as you were thinking the exact same thing about him.
He kisses slowly at your stomach, getting close to the waistband of your jeans, as he feels you tense up under him.
"I promise I will make you feel so good." he says sitting up. "Do you trust me?"
"I do" you say the truth.
"Can I take these off?" he places his hands on your hips, ready to take off your jeans.
"Yes." you lift your hips to help him undress you. He lays down on the bed, placing kisses on your inner thighs.
"So soft." he whispers. His kisses get closer and closer to your pussy.
"But please don't get mad when it takes too long." you look at him in between your thighs.
He looks up at you his eyebrows furrowed. "What kind of assholes have you been with?"
"Yeah, I am good at finding those."
"I am going to make you forget all about them." he says and places a kiss over your clothed pussy. He can feel how wet you are already, it almost pulls a moan out of him, but he wants to listen to you, so he stays as quiet as possible.
"Just relax for me, baby." you lay your head back on the pillows, as he takes off your panties and you spread your legs wider for him. He places one of your legs on his shoulder and lays down on the bed completely.
He kisses the soft skin of your inner thigh, slowly getting to your pussy, he kisses your folds, finally licking a long stripe from your hole to your clit. He sucks it into his mouth, pulling a moan from you, it sounds like music to his ears. He focuses on your clit, spreading your folds with two fingers, to get more access.
You were so wet and pent up from how ready he got you before, you have to admit it feels good to have him in between your legs, your back arches, but he keeps a strong hold on your hips. Your heal digging into his back but he likes it, the fact that you are enjoying yourself.
He laps at your cunt, listening to every sound you make, finding out what feels good for you. He moves closer to your hole, fucks you with his tongue, his nose catching on your clit, driving you crazy.
He brings one of his hands to your chest, teasing your nipple, feeling you clench around his tongue. You let out a loud whine and feel him moan into your cunt. You look down at him, his eyes are closed, eyebrows knitted together, so focused on your pleasure. You put your hand over his on your tit, squeezing even harder, that's when you notice his hips moving against the bed, humping it. You can't believe he is getting off on eating you out. His tongue reaches a sensitive part of you and you throw your head back at the feeling growing in your lower stomach.
The sight of him humping the bed, moaning into your pussy, sucking your clit so deliciously, taking his time with you, makes you realise how close to your climax you are getting. This man you just met today is making you feel things your ex boyfriends couldn't even get close to.
He looks up at you, seeing you lost in pleasure, your hand thrown back into the pillows, gripping the sheets, mouth open. He licks two of his fingers, and slowly puts one finger into your pussy, feeling it tighten,
"You are so sensitive, I can't believe no one did this for you before." he says, his lips and chin shiny with your juices, as he sticks another finger in, curling them, to find that spongey spot, that will drive you even closer to the sweet release. He dives back in, licking and sucking your clit.
He curls his fingers just right and with added pressure on your clit, you grip his hair, grinding your hips into his face.
"Joost. Fuck, that's it." you almost scream. "Please don't stop."
Your voice makes him hump the bed even harder, there is a wet spot already from his pre-cum. He brings his hand to your lower stomach, adding pressure softly. You start to see stars, how hard you're are squeezing your eyes shut, the feeling covers your entire body, a hot wave. You grip his hair even tighter, which makes him groan. But he would let you do anything to him in that moment, he is so happy he is making you feel good. Your walls are squeezing his fingers so tight, he can't even imagine how good it will feel when he gets his dick inside of you, worried he won't last long.
"Ohmygodohmygod" you scream, not being able to hold it in anymore. You feel him smile against your cunt, and you release on his fingers, on his mouth. He lets you ride your high, hold you in place with his hand on your lower stomach. He continues to eat you out hungrily, not missing a spot, licks at your folds until you are pushing him away overstimulated.
He stops, leans his head on your thigh, enjoying the view of your rising chest, a shiny layer of sweat covering you.
"So, how was it?" he asks you, he sounds so cocky, proud of himself.
"Insane. That was insane." you are out of breath, your brain feels like a mush.
He leaves one last kiss on your pussy, a whine escaping you, when he pushes himself on top of you again, caging you in, holding himself up on his forearms. There are tears on your face, which he kisses away. Your vision finally comes back to you, you look at him, he looks so good, his hair is messy, cheeks a little red, chin still wet with your slick, his necklace dangling in your face. You hook your finger around it and bring him closer, colliding your lips together. You taste yourself on his tongue, a moan slipping out of you, which makes him push his hips into you. You feel him so hard and heavy.
"Do you want me on top?" you ask him.
"Oh yes." he wraps your hands around his shoulders, snaking one hand around your lower back and easily flips you around. You squeal at his fast action, now he is sitting against the bed frame, with you on top.
You sit back, his dick wet with pre-cum in between you. You move your hand to stroke him, his mouth opens, letting out a soft groan.
"You have such a pretty dick." you stroke him slowly, feeling the velvety skin under your palm. Your other hand moves to his neck, moving towards his broad shoulder, just feeling him. You slide your hand down further onto his chest, his hair a little darker there than on his head. You stop to feel his wild heartbeat, moving even lower to his soft stomach. You think he is the hottest man you've ever seen. He is watching your every move, enjoying your hands on him. The way you look at him, your eyes filled with lust, strokes his ego. He is glad you want him as much as he wants you.
You start to feel him twitch under your hand, but he doesn't rush you like your previous partners would do. You take out a condom from the pack, open the packaging with your teeth and roll the condom onto him slowly. You press your lips against his, his hand on the back of your head, holding your hair. You lean your forehead against his, breathing the same air, you look down, when you start to lift your hips, swiping his dick between your folds. He is thicker than your previous partners, you know the stretch will be there, even after you already came.
You start to lower yourself slowly, both of you letting out a groan, when he first enters you. He is holding your hips, helping you take him in.
"That's it. You are taking me so well." his voice is quiet, eyes fixed between your bodies, watching you lower yourself on him. You feel so good and tight around him even through the rubber.
Soft little gasps leave your mouth, as you start to move on him. You hold him by the shoulders and feel a strong hold of his hands on his hips, setting the slow pace.
You start bouncing faster, painful stretch finally turning into pleasure. You pinch your nipple and he feels you clench around him. He is holding himself from cumming too fast, wants this to last, wants to see you on top of him for a little while longer. He hopes this is not the last time he gets to see you like this.
He moves his hand under your ass helping you set the pace and buries his face into your chest, feeling it move against him, bringing you to him as close as possible. He blindly kisses every bit of skin he can get his mouth on, moaning loudly.
"I am so close." he pushes his hand between you to draw fast circles on your clit.
"Me too." you throw your head back, switching between bouncing and moving your hips in circles.
He starts to thrust up, holding your hips and touching your clit at the same time. He starts to feel your pulse on his dick.
"You feel so good around me." he says in between thrusts. "Fuck. Can I please cum? Are you close?" he says looking up at you.
"I am almost there. Cum. Cum for me." you say and feel him twitch under you, he releases into the condom with a loud groan, loosing the rhythm of his thrusts. He presses you close to him, hits so unbelievably deep, it triggers your climax, you start to feel lightheaded with how strong you cum.
You are both trying to catch your breath, not ready to separate from each other. You scratch his head, still pressed into your chest, while he is moving his hands soothingly on your back.
"That was the best sex I ever had." you admit to him quietly.
He looks up at you. "Same." he brings you into a kiss with a hand on the back of your head. It is slow now, you still feel him inside of you. He tightens his grip on your hair, making you gasp into his mouth, letting him put his tongue in. You are both trying to make this last longer and longer, not sure what happens after.
He pulls back, you start to get up, hissing at the feeling.
He throws away the condom, and lays back, pulling you into his chest. You wrap your hands around him, glad he didn't leave as soon as he was finished. He puts the blanket around you hoping it will also make you stay.
"Can I see tomorrow?" he asks. He wants to get to know you even better, to take you on a proper date, wants to show you his music, introduce you to all his friends.
You look up at him. "I would love that."
"Can you also stay the night with me?" he asks, unsure. "Or, I can walk you home, if you want." his mind starts racing, he wants you to have a choice, but also wants you to stay so bad.
"I can stay." you wrap your hands tighter around him. He lets out a breath he was holding and brings you closer to his chest. You are in his arms, but he already can't wait to see you tomorrow, when he wakes up.

“we’re homee!” jeonghan walked into his boss’s office with yuna in his arms. he had yuna’s small sparkly pink bag slung around his shoulder and his hair was messy and hair strands covered the front of his eyes, courtesy of yuna playing with it. he honestly looked like a struggling single mother and seungcheol was humoured by the view.
“yuna!” seungcheol squatted and opened his arms. jeonghan quickly placed yuna down as she started to move around in excitement from seeing her father. she ran towards him with the same opens arms and wrapped them around him.
“thank you jeonghan, so sorry to trouble you with this, i can’t thank you enough,” seungcheol looked up to his secretary with doe eyes.
“it’s no worries, it’s my job to follow your orders, don’t be afraid to ask me to go again,” the secretary replied as he flopped onto the couch seungcheol had in his office.
seungcheol perked his head up, he couldn’t believe what he was hearing. seungcheol has known jeonghan for years and they’re actually pretty close so he knows what tasks jeonghan likes and dislikes. one of those tasks jeonghan disliked was undertaking tasks irrelevant to the main job. seungcheol knew his secretary found those tasks unreasonable. one time jeonghan was told to make orders for a party that didn’t have anything to do anything with the company and he very much remained sour for the rest of the week due to the hassle it was.
for someone with a mere position of being a secretary, he sure had string opinions. lucky for him, people seemed to let it slide.
jeonghan of course, always complied, it’s his job to follow what seungcheol says but he never hides his disdain for activities he isn’t fond of.
“really?” seungcheol titlted his head. seungcheol was sure this would be one of the tasks jeonghan was to dislike but perhaps since it was for someone he cared about, yuna, it was okay.
“…it’s my job?” the secretary ogled his eyes to his boss, confused on why he’d say that.
seungcheol bit his lip and his eyebrows pinched together hesitating to ask more. it’s not like it was a big deal but there must’ve been something interesting on why he’d be okay with going back but maybe he was just overthinking it.
“you’re right,” seungcheol laughed before dismissing his secretary, “well, i’ll be leaving soon. again, thank you for earlier. drive safe on the road alright?”
jeonghan nodded in response and said goodbye as he left the room.
seungcheol organised his desk and collected his things getting ready to leave. “how was daycare yuna,” he smiled making conversation with his daughter.
“fun!” she answered excitedly.
“what did you do?”
“i played with yn also they read a book to me today!”
“you really like yn huh?” seungcheol chuckled walking towards the exit as yuna followed.
“of course!”
he smiled at the pure child joy portrayed in front of his eyes. he’s happy he found a great daycare for his daughter to be at.
“that’s weird, even uncle jeonghan asked me if i like yn, who wouldn’t like yn?” yuna asked genuinely.
seungcheol stopped his steps in the middle of the hallway and his head shifted to yuna.
“what do you mean?”
“uncle jeonghan asked me if i liked yn, of course i do! how can you not like yn, you like yn too right dad?“ yuna of course asked in the platonic sense but that last part caught him off guard—
“when did jeonghan ask that?”
“just after we left earlier!”
seungcheol looked up to the ceiling and thought for a second.
what were the chances that his secretary is interested in you?
it was low honestly, however it was high at the same time! you two have known each other for what, 5 minutes? then again, jeonghan showed interest in returning to the daycare. moreover, he acknowledged someone working there, even asking a 6 year old about them? that meant something, seungcheol would know.
seungcheol continued walking and laughed under his breath. this is fun.
+
ah. how did it turn out like this.
you stood at the reception table almost frozen by the sight.
“yn!” yuna skipped into the building.
“yuna! hello, nice to see you today,” you greeted while taking her bag off her.
you glanced at the man who escorted her and again, his pretty face raised your heartbeat.
you inhaled deeply calming yourself down, “yuna, you can go inside first, i need to take care of something here,” you instructed as you opened the fence door to let her in.
“bye yuna,” jeonghan waved.
she went in and now it was just the two of you.
“hi mr.yoon,” you casually spoke and walked back to the computer at reception to mark yuna present.
“hi yn and please, just call me jeonghan,” he insisted with a kind smile.
you grinned and nodded, “mr.choi’s busy again?”
“yea, it was really sudden,” jeonghan squinted his eyes recalling how he ended up here. he wasn’t expecting to pay a visit today either.
—
a bit earlier…
“hey jeonghan, i’m so sorry but i’m going to need you to bring yuna to daycare today,” seungcheol informed as his eyes didn’t leave the papers on his desk.
“what?” jeonghan furrowed just eyebrows.
“schedules been busy so i can’t go. yuna’s bag is already prepared i just need you to bring her to daycare and make sure you walk inside with her. is that alright?”
jeonghan cleared his throat, “uhm, yea of course.”
—
jeonghan didn’t even organise his boss’s schedule to make him that busy. he was actually thinking about starting his plans next week, but somehow, things were in his favour.
“well thanks for bringing yuna, who’s going to pick her up later?”
jeonghan pursed his lips, could be him if he really tried, “i’ll have to get back to you on that.”
“oh alright, i’ll just call mr.choi then—“
“better you just have my number,” he spoke quickly which cut you off.
he struggled to get something from his pocket, “seungcheol been busy so best you contact his trusty secretary first,” he pulled out a mildly crumpled business card in his hand, giving it to you.
he’d been pinching it throughout the ride to the daycare wondering if he should give it to you or not. but he gave it cause what was the big deal? it was for the convenience. it’s not like it meant anything, it’s a business card, it’s for business matters.
“just call the number on the card or email me! but i don’t think i’ll see it until like, next month,” he said as he pointed to parts of the card.
you laughed at his wit and took the card in your hands, “thanks, it’ll definitely be a phone call that’s for sure.”
he laughed at the way you returned his energy, “hope to see you later yn.”
your heart dropped at his words but you didn’t take it to heart, “hope to see you as well?” you said with hesitance.
you two parted ways and he left the daycare with the same smile he had yesterday, only it was wider. there was really something about you that made him want to just grab a chair and talk to you for hours.
meanwhile, you were seated on the old, half-broken reception chair with jeonghan’s business card in your hands. you held back your excitement, gosh you had the number of the boy that kept you up last night.
but reality washed over you too quickly. you sighed and placed the card down, it was only a business number.
but hell did it feel like a step forward.
+
you glanced at the clock. it was almost 6, almost time for yuna to leave.
all of your co workers had clocked out and all the kids but yuna went home.
you were currently reading her a story book but since she skipped nap time, she was starting to doze off. you softly pinched her cheek yet she was still in the same state.
soon 6:30 came, by now seungcheol would’ve sent a message apologising and saying he was on his way, but there was nothing.
was it a sign to call him?
you scratched your head and looked at yuna. she was laying on one of the mattresses to catch up on some energy.
you slowly got up and went to find the business card.
once you found it, you quickly typed it into your phone immediately calling it. as soon as it connected, you placed your phone to your ear,
“beep, the number you have dialled can’t be reached. please try again.”
you furrowed your eyebrows but tried again. this time you even placed his name and added it to your contacts.
“beep, the number you have dialled can’t be reached. please try again.”
well shit.

Nobody Gets me, You Do
Older!Logan Howlett x Fem Reader (ANGST TO FLUFF)
CW: post Deadpool and Wolverine, breakups, brief mentions of seggs in the past, mentions of alcohol, mention of death, mutual pining, cursing, kissing, angst w/ fluffy ending! Possible spelling and grammar errors
AN: came across this song again after a while of not hearing it and it just all came to me. It came to me very quickly so my apologies if it isn’t up to par with my usual works! 😅 I don’t own the song or characters. If anyone has any requests for our men Logan or Wade, please feel free! My asks are open! Enjoy!! 🥰
The song followed him everywhere since the break up. When he would get in the car, the radio would come on and play it for a few moments before he could switch the station to his usual 80’s rock. When he would come to the bar to drink, it would play at least once per night, making him groan each time he heard it begin to play. Sometimes he would even hear it in the stores he went to, and it pissed him off how much it managed to wedge itself into his brain. It was an ear worm that perfectly managed to place salt on a wound that could never truly heal. Losing you. It was a fitting song he had to admit, recounting the days of when you were together and how you used to cherish every memory and now all he has of you are those memories to look back on. It made his heart wrench in his chest and his throat fill with bile at the thought that he managed to chase you away. The one person who cared for him the most, not only in this time line, but in his previous one too. The only person that brought him a semblance of happiness and he managed to fuck it up completely. He’d come to learn that he was quite good at fucking things up, perhaps it was just the curse he carried with him. He managed to take a healthy relationship, with someone who felt like his most perfect match and fucked it up completely. He hated to admit it, but out of everything, there was one thing the song got right.
“Nobody gets me, you do”
One night he decided enough was enough, the lyrics had been lingering in his mind like a haunting memory. He needed it out, needed to just sit down and fully listen to it so he could rid himself of the sound on repeat. He grabbed his phone, getting lost in the picture of you two together on his lockscreen. You were both so happy then. The way you looked at him with all the love in the world, and the way his hand rested upon your hip that told you he would always keep you safe. The smile that rested on his lips as he looked down at you, it was gorgeous. It wasn’t the best picture, but it was a candid moment Wade managed to capture out on a mission together in the woods. One he’d never forget because it was the last one he’d get with you. Once he could manage to tear his eyes away from the picture, he searched up the song, bracing himself for the emotional rollercoaster that was bound to come with. He gave a deep sigh as he sat up listening to it on the couch, a beer in one hand, looking down at his dog tags that you had given back to him the day you left in the other.
Took a long vacation
No makeup, just Jay-Z
You were balls deep, now we beefin’
Had me butt-naked at the MGM
So wasted screamin’, “Fuck that,”
Love me now, but I’m anythin’
Hurry now, baby, stick it in
‘Fore the memories get to kickin’ in
That portion of the song reminded him of the last time you were intimate together. His mind wandered to the way you both came barreling through your apartment door, so ready to pounce on each other that you could hardly get to the bedroom and decided to do it on your couch. He remembered the giggles of excitement, the gasps, moans and groans as you lost yourselves in one another. He remembered the way that you complained of the pain in your legs and lower back the next day from how long you two stayed up going round for round. He was never very good with intimacy, but with you it felt natural. With you, everything felt natural, everything felt like he was in his own personal heaven.
It’s too late
I don’t wanna lose what’s left of you
How am I supposed to tell ya?
I don’t wanna see you with anyone but me
Nobody gets me like you
How am I supposed to let you go?
Only like myself when I’m with you
Nobody gets me, you do
You do
Nobody gets me, you do
You do
Nobody gets me, you do
You do
Nobody gets me, you do
Those lyrics hit him the hardest, because they were true. He clung to the last little things he had of you, from the still lingering smell of your perfume on some of his shirts, to the pictures he had of you together in his wallet. Even down to the dog tags he held in his hand. You always kept them tucked under your shirt, keeping it “as close to your heart as you kept him” you would always say. The day you handed them back was the day he knew he lost you for good. He hoped that maybe somehow you still had a space left in your heart for him to reside once more, praying someone else hadn’t come along and taken his place. He couldn’t bear the thought of you with someone else, the thought leaving a sour taste in his mouth. You were his girl, he would always see you that way, even if you didn’t want him anymore.
Took me out to the ballet
You proposed, I went on the road
You was feelin’ empty, so you left me
Now I’m stuck dealin’ with a deadbeat
If I’m real, I deserve less
If I was you, I wouldn’t take me back
I pretend when I’m with a man, it’s you
And I know that it’s too late
I don’t wanna lose what’s left of you
This one wasn’t far off, he understood after everything that he said, after the way he treated you if you didn’t want to take him back. He didn’t even like himself, how could he expect someone to love him in such a state? Closing his eyes, he thought back to the times before your break up, allowing the song to finish.
How am I supposed to tell ya?
I don’t wanna see you with anyone but me
Nobody gets me like you
How am I supposed to let you go?
Only like myself when I’m with you
Nobody gets me, you do
You do
Nobody gets me, you do
You do
Nobody gets me, you do
You do
Nobody gets me, you do
Nobody gets me, you do
He released a long shaky breath, feeling his eyes begin to grow wet with tears he hadn’t noticed began to well in his lash line. He tipped his head back after he took a drink of his beer, trying his hardest to fight the tears from escaping but he could only do so much to stop it as the song played on repeat.
“Well, now that’s a sight I never thought I’d see” Wade said, making Logan groan as he took another hefty swig of his drink. “Fuck off” he responded coldly, but of course, this was Wade he was talking to. Things were never that easy with him. “Easy Wolvie, I’m here for you” he said, placing a hand to the man’s shoulder only further agitating Logan as he shrugged it off. “I’m fine” he replied, trying to get him to leave but as usual, his efforts were fruitless. “Yeah, totally. Listening to a sad song on repeat while drinking is exactly the definition I think of when someone says they’re fine” Wade quipped, making him roll his eyes at his sarcasm. “Fuck you” Logan responded, not wanting to put up with his bullshit but lacking the energy to fight back full force. “I still live in my angsty teenage years every now and then, though I didn’t picture this to be the music of choice for you” Wade said. “It’s fuckin’ everywhere. Like I can’t get rid of it. It’s followed me everywhere since…” he started to say before stopping himself, not wanting to share with Wade of all people but he really didn’t have anyone else. “The break up?” Wade asked, making Logan grunt in acknowledgment. “Yeah” he answered.
It happened so long ago now, but he remembered it like it was yesterday, the sour memories of your usually soft, sweet voice screaming at him. The tears that streamed down your face not only from sadness but from anger. It haunted his dreams at night on repeat, hearing those words leave you as you stormed out, and hearing the awful response he only wished he could take back. You had every right to be angry with him, to break up with him like you did. It was his fault after all. He’d left you in one timeline already, dying before you had the chance to even tell him one last goodbye, and then he nearly left you in this one. Sacrificing himself to try and save Wade and his world without a second thought of leaving you behind again. So this time you left him. He couldn’t be mad at you, not when your anger was completely justified. “Want me to invite her over? Give you the chance to talk with her?” Wade asked, genuinely wanting to help. It was a wishful thought, but your relationship didn’t end the way Wade’s did with Vanessa. A simple meet up wouldn’t take back the hurtful words he’d said to you and he knew that. “Even if you did, she wouldn’t want to see me. Not after everything I said that night ” Logan replied, finishing off his beer. “Can’t be that bad! Right…?” Wade asked, making Logan look at him. “Good god man, what did you say?!” He asked, making Logan sigh. “Told her I was just trying to help, but that if she couldn’t handle me and the dangerous shit that comes with me, then to find someone else. You can imagine the rest” he answered, making Wade hiss in pain at the words his roommate said. “Ouch” he commented. “Well…it could still be worth a shot. How long has it been?” He asked. “Eight months, haven’t heard a fuckin’ word from her” Logan replied gruffly. “Double ouch” Wade said, making Logan shoot a glare in his direction. “Oh fuck off. Stupid of me to think you of all people would fucking help” he grumbled angrily. “No, no, no! C’mon you helped me, let me help you. Just trust me and give it a shot” Wade begged him, making him sit and think on it. Or at least pretend to, he didn’t need to think on it, the idea of speaking to you finally after so long left him anxious but he wanted you back so badly. “And if it doesn’t work?” Logan asked gruffly. “You can brutally beat the shit out of me and get black out drunk and forget it even happened” Wade responded, leaving Logan rather skeptical but at least it was worth a try. “Let’s turn off the sad music though, you’re scaring the hoes” Wade joked as he text you and asked you to come over.
When Wade invited you over to his place, Logan could hardly believe that you actually showed up. He figured you would rather be the farthest away that you could possibly get from him after everything that had transpired between you two. Yet there you were, looking as gorgeous as ever. A little tired maybe, like stress had been hounding you for some time, but otherwise you seemed to be doing well. He wished he could say the same about himself but he’d been nothing but a wreck since you left. Your eyes flit across the apartment, subconsciously searching for Logan. You found him in the kitchen, cooking what looked to be his own dinner, seeing as Wade and Althia got high, while drinking a beer, and the sight made your chest grow tight. You missed coming home to see him like that on occasion, missed when he would cook for you, especially on holidays or your anniversary. You thought back to Valentine’s Day when he made you dinner after a rogue mission gone sour, walking into your apartment to the smell of your favorite meal being made after a long and troubling day. You missed coming home to him, sharing your bed with him.
You missed him.
You weren’t sure how to speak to him after everything you’d said, and with the distance between you, you hadn’t spoken to him since the night you left. He could hate you for all you knew. You couldn’t blame him if he did, you’d hate yourself too if you were told the awful things you’d said. You couldn’t help but pray that somewhere deep down in that gruff exterior of his, that maybe he could forgive you. That maybe he would take you back, allow you a chance to apologize and mend what had been broken. The scent of a warm, hand made meal snapped you from your thoughts, filling the air as you bravely stepped into the kitchen. The minute you did, your heart slammed against your chest, unsure of where to go from here. “You came” Logan said, sounding almost surprised to see you here in front of him. You were thankful that he started the conversation for you and spoke first, you felt almost as if all words were trapped in your throat. “You called” you answered surely, looking at him with a kind, almost apologetic smile. “Wasn’t sure if you would” he replied, and it made your heart ache to know you made him feel that way. “I’m here now” you answered softly, your hand coming to rest gently on his upper arm, making him look to you with an expression that held so many emotions you didn’t know which to read first. Tension hung in the air between you as you stood and looked at one another, this was the first time standing before each other in nearly a year. You could see longing in his gaze, sadness in his body language, but an unrelenting passion in his eyes. He looked as if he wanted to say something but didn’t know the words to say it. So this time you spoke for him.
“Smells delicious, I see you’re still a wonderful cook” you complimented with a nostalgic smile, trying to start up a conversation the best you could with him to see where you stand. “Want some?” He asked without hesitation, tilting his head towards the food before grabbing a plate for you. You didn’t even need to answer. Maybe he didn’t hate you like you first thought, maybe this could go well after all. You surely hoped it would at least. “That’s your dinner, I don’t want to take it all. I know how much you love that dish, I don’t want to take it from you” you said, reminding him of all the times you would make sure he ate, always fussing over him. At the time he used to tell you he could take care of himself and that you didn’t need to worry yourself over him but now? He’d give anything to hear your sweet voice beg him to eat, to be safe, and take care of himself again. “There’s plenty, bub. ‘sides, I remember how much you liked it too” he replied, making you smile a little at the fact that he remembered how much you liked his cooking before fixing you a plate and then himself one. God you fucking missed him. “Thank you” you responded as you sat down and ate with him in peaceful silence that was only interrupted by the occasional small talk. A few stories here and there, some shared laughs, all almost felt completely natural again. Like you’d fallen back into your normal routine as if it had never been broken, but you knew the pining glances hadn’t gone unnoticed. You needed to talk with him, really talk with him. You couldn’t go about this life without him anymore.
Some time had passed after you both finished dinner, the tension between you and Logan had dwindled a bit as you both made your way over to the couch but there was still an invisible wedge between you. One you weren’t quite sure how to cross. You watched as Wade picked up a set of keys from the kitchen counter and made way for the door, claiming he and Althia were going to get dinner for themselves. “We’ll leave you two alone, but try not to wreck my apartment if you decide to have messy make up sex, ‘kay?” Wade said, making Logan almost snarl in anger and you even shot him a nasty glance. “Wilson!” Logan barked, sending Wade flying through the door with a giggle to be out of his line of sight and potentially his wrath. “He never was the king of reading a room” you said, making Logan scoff in amusement and agreement before taking a swig of his beer. “I did want to talk to you” you both said simultaneously, making you chuckle before you both stumbled over telling the other to go first. It was like being a teenager in love all over again.
“Logan I-“ “you don’t have to say anything you don’t want to. I don’t deserve an apology, not after I hurt you” he said, making you look to him with sympathy in your gaze. You knew that you were hard on him, but you didn’t realize truly how hard you’d been. “But you do” you responded softly grabbing his hand in yours, making him look down at your smaller hand wrapped around his much larger one. “I was selfish to be mad at you. I was selfish and cruel for saying the things that I did. What you did was something beyond heroic, something that I’m sure no one else would have ever even contemplated doing, much less actually have done. You did it because you knew what it was like to lose everyone that ever mattered to you in your timeline, and you didn’t want Wade to have to suffer the same” you added. “I was so blind by the thought of losing you again that I didn’t stop to think what a wonderful thing you’d truly done” you continued, shame lacing your tone as you admitted your wrongs, hoping and praying that he would accept your apology as you presented yourself at the most vulnerable you’d ever been. “I should’ve thought of what I would be leaving behind” he tried to say, and you stopped him before he could finish. “No, you have no need to apologize to me or think that way. I was wrong for treating you as if you’d left me that day, because you didn’t, you’re still here. You’re alive” you replied, your hand coming to rest softly on his cheek as you spoke to him, looking deep into his honey brown eyes that enchanted you since the first day you’d met him. “But I hurt you. I screamed at you, said terrible things that I regret every fuckin’ day. You had every right to walk away” he tried to say but again, you weren’t taking it. “Walking away from you was the worst mistake I have ever made, and I cannot even begin to tell you how sorry I am for making you feel wrong for trying to help someone in the way you helped Wade and this whole timeline” you replied, seeing what looked to be the starts of tears welling in his lash line as he looked to you while you spoke. “I’m so sorry Logan. And I know those words will never be enough undo the wrong and the hurt that I’ve caused but I hope you know that I mean it” you added, searching his eyes for any means of anger, any means of rejection. Yet you didn’t find it. All you found was longing. “I love you Logan. I love you so fucking much and I’m so fucking sorry” you apologized, hands cupping his face softly and tears welling to your eyes as a sob caught in your throat, praying it wasn’t too late to mend the bond you broke. “I’ve missed you so much…I don’t want to live this life, or any life without you in it. Nobody gets me like you” you spoke, your voice cracking slightly as tears streamed down your face. “I don’t want to lose you…” you whispered repeatedly through your cries, feeling him press his forehead against yours gently. “You won’t. I’m here, I’m right here bub” he said, and it was everything you needed to hear for so long.
“I’m not goin’ anywhere bub, I’m here” he assured, making you pull back enough to gaze into his eyes. “You promise?” You asked through sniffles and hiccups from your cries, searching his eyes for deceit but once again, you found none. “I promise. Missed you too much to ever do that” he said, making you smile the best you could through your tears. “C’mere pretty girl” he said, his large hand pulling you in closer before his lips slotted against your own. You were quick to loop your arms around his neck and keep him close against you as you kissed him back. It was passionate, filled with desire and warmth but intimate all the same. You chased each other’s lips with your own, not caring for the need for air that made your lungs burn from oxygen deprivation, caring more for the way you finally had one another again. Once you did part, you both panted to try and catch your breath, looking to one another as if to ask what next. “Think this belongs to you” he spoke, holding his dog tags out to you, making you chuckle as you looked down at them. “Are you sure?” You asked, but before you could even finish asking, he was already slipping it over your head, admiring the way it dangled from your neck. “Never been more sure” he answered, making you smile as you held it in your hand before kissing him once more. “I don’t deserve you” you said, pressing your forehead against his once more. “No, I don’t deserve you” he said, making you chuckle. “Yet we get each other in every timeline. Funny how that works, isn’t it?” You replied, making him laugh. “Wouldn’t want it any other way” he responded making you hum as you closed your eyes to enjoy the peacefully intimate moment with him. “Good, I don’t wanna see you with anyone but me” you said, making him laugh again at the irony that it was a lyric from the song that haunted him for the past eight months. “Don’t worry, never gonna happen” he responded, and for a moment he understood the perfect response.
“Nobody gets me like you, bub”

“And that leaves yourself and Hunter to pair up.”
After Tech outlined the upcoming mission, the realisation of being paired with Sarge left you feeling a tad uneasy. It wasn't due to any discomfort around him or found him horrible; in fact, quite the opposite. However, the thought of potentially failing in his presence was unsettling.
There had been occasions where you'd caught him casting a displeased glance, not directly at you, but in response to mishaps involving you. So, there was a heightened sense of pressure to perform well. But, you took it with a pinch of salt and hoped to prove yourself to him today.
As Hunter nonchalantly announced, 'Alright, let's head out,' you silently appreciated his professionalism in not opting to change partners. With a quick exchange of well-wishes, the team gathered their gear and set off, Hunter leading the way while you followed closely behind.
Navigating the outskirts of a dilapidated settlement teeming with mercenaries and rogues, Hunter paused to comm the others, prompting you to remain vigilant and on lookout. When happy that everyone was in position, he refocused his attention on you as he inquired, “Ready to get up there?”
Your eyes widened beneath your helmet as you nervously asked, “Up where?”
Stepping aside, Hunter revealed a rusty and precarious ladder partially concealed by vines. A surge of apprehension washed over you; it seemed that Wrecker weren't the only one with a fear of heights.
“Oh.” you involuntarily squeaked, hastily composing yourself. However, Hunter picked up on your hesitation.
“Don’t tell me you're afraid of heights too,” he remarked with a sigh, adding to your mounting anxiety about the partnership. Despite your concerns, you hoped he wouldn't view you as a liability. Before you could formulate a response, Hunter secured his backpack and tethered it to both of you, assuring, “There we go. If you fall, I'll catch you.”
Though his expression was concealed by his helmet, the gesture provided some reassurance and even added a little flutter in your stomach. You may be scared of failing him but that didn’t make him all the less attractive. As you glanced at the connecting cords and then at the daunting ladder, a knot formed in your stomach. “Do I go first?” you tentatively asked.
“Yes. Now, let's get going.” he instructed, giving you a gentle nudge forward.
As you began the ascent, your heart raced with each rung of the ladder you grasped, your gaze fixed firmly ahead, avoiding the sight of the perilous drop below.
"Keep going, don't look down," you whispered to yourself, your fingers gripping the ladder tightly, praying that each rusted bar would hold.
Halfway up, the realisation of the height hit you with full force. Two hundred meters above ground, you reaffirmed your determination but then, as your hand clasped onto the next bar, it gave way, knocking you off your balance.
With lightning speed, Hunter surged upward, positioning himself behind you and using his body to steady yours, preventing you from falling back. "Are you alright?" he asked, concern evident in his voice.
Speech eluded you, your chest heaving as the gravity of the situation sank in. Tears threatened behind your visor as you grappled with the near miss. "Just... give me a moment," you managed to utter, completely overwhelmed.
The sudden realisation of Hunter's close proximity jolted you back to the present. "Let's... let's keep going," you rasped, nodding slightly. Hunter obliged, stepping down but keeping a reassuring hand firmly planted on the small of your back, providing much-needed support until you regain your composure.
When you both finally reached the summit, you had to restrain yourself from collapsing to your knees and kissing the ground beneath you. Your limbs throbbed with exhaustion, and your mind reeled from the harrowing ordeal of nearly meeting your demise.
By then, a feeling of embarrassment washed over you. You watched silently as Hunter detached the cord connecting you both and proceeded to relay updates to the team. However, overwhelmed by a flood of emotions, you found yourself leaning against a nearby wall, sinking to your knees as you removed your helmet, frustration evident in the way your fingers raked through your hair.
As Hunter's voice filtered through the comm, he briefly looked at you and concern crossed his face. “Hold tight until we are able to move forward.” He relays to the others before he abruptly cuts off the transmission, takes off his helmet and approaches you.
"Hey," he said softly, drawing your attention, "are you alright?"
Though you wanted to respond with an affirmative, your throat constricted with unspoken emotions, preventing anything but a shaky denial. Biting your lip to stifle any whimpers, you just shocked your head but found solace in his company.
"Why are you upset?" he inquired, his confusion mirroring yours as you struggled to articulate your feelings.
Sniffling, you released a heavy sigh, avoiding his gaze as you confessed, "I just feel like I always mess up around you, and that I annoy you… and I just nearly died!”
Your words tumbled forth in a torrent of insecurity, your ramblings a desperate attempt to verbalise how you felt. However, Hunter remained patient, allowing you to unload your burdens until you uttered the words that hung heavily in the air.
"What did you just say?" he interjected, genuine confusion etched in his features. "You think I hate you?"
Meeting his gaze, you hesitated, uncertain of how he would react. "I just thought..."
"You thought wrong," he interrupted gently, a small chuckle escaping him. "I don't hate you. I..."
His words trailed off, leaving an unspoken sentiment lingering between you. He seemed in deep thought as he pondered whether or not it was appropriate to express how he really felt.
Perhaps not, and so he held back, his silence speaking volumes as he searched for the right words. But you stared at him, wondering what he was really thinking.
Catching your expectant gaze, he offered a wry smile. "I tolerate you," he quipped, the humour in his tone breaking the tension and eliciting a relieved laugh from you, tears wiped away.
"For a second, I thought you were going to say 'love,'" you blurted out without thinking, only for Hunter to match your unfiltered honesty.
"And if I did?" Hunter's response caught you off guard, his eyes widening slightly, but he didn't retract his words.
Tucking a loose piece of hair behind your ear, you tilted your head at him. "And do you?"
He visibly gulped. "I don't think it's a surprise that I'm not great with talking about how I feel," he admitted nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.
Stunned, it took a moment for his words to sink in. "I don't know what to say," you whispered, completely bashful as your cheeks burned.
"You don't have to if you don't want to… I just thought you should know that my strict ways come from a place of me caring about you. A lot. I'm just not good at expressing things," he explained, his quiet vulnerability bringing a smile to your lips, a sight he secretly always adored. "I'm happy to see you smiling again. It suits you."
"Oh yeah?" you teased, mischief gleaming in your eyes as the newfound revelation sank in. "Your smile isn't too bad yourself, Sarge."
He chuckled, placing a hand over yours. The two of you gazed at each other for a moment, the mission completely on hold as you reveled in this new adventure. However, there was no hiding the signs of him looking at your lips and then back to you. "You know," he started, taking a nervous breath, "smiling is the second-best thing you can do with your lips."
Reading the signs and anticipation hanging in the air, you closed the distance between you, pressing your lips to his. Time seemed to stand still as the galaxy around you faded away.
He sighs against you, the kiss deepening with a loving desire. Your hands found their way to his face, fingers tangling in his hair as he pulled you closer. Hunter responded eagerly, his arms wrapping around you, holding you in tight as the kiss ignited a fire within both of you.
Lost in the moment, you explored each other's lips with a soft hunger that had been simmering beneath the surface. The kiss was electric, sending waves of happiness through your body, making your heart race and your skin tingle in excitement.
Finally breaking apart, you gazed into each other's eyes. "I've wanted to do that for a long time," Hunter confessed, his voice low and husky.
You smiled, feeling a rush of warmth flood through you. "Me too," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper.
Without another word, Hunter pulled you close once again, his lips finding yours in another searing kiss, revealing all the unspoken words. The mission could wait for a minute or two.

Waking up the next morning, I was greeted by a loud knocking on my door. Stumbling, I told whoever it was that I was on my way. The knocking stopped but was quickly followed by Violet’s loud voice. My things were here, and I needed to let the movers inside.
“Christian and Kook are here already,” She added. “Managed to get an extra pair of hands, too.”
I changed into a pair of jeans and threw on a pull over. It was not supposed to be as cold today, but I did not think a short-sleeved shirt would be enough to keep me warm. Sliding into my boots, I opened the front door.
Violet was there, her hair in a braid again, wearing a blue plaid shirt and bootcut jeans. Beside her was Jimin, a large smile already on his face. Two other men were here. I was certain I had seen one of them before. He was very handsome with a heart shaped face and soft chin, large, asymmetrical brown eyes, and downturned lips. His hair was very obviously dyed, the blue so bright when the sun hit it my eyes hurt.
The other man was less familiar. His hair was black, styled into a trendy wolf cut, with his bangs pulled out of his face into a ponytail. He had a pure, youthful, and elegant look about him, and a few piercings. There was one on his eyebrow, one on his bottom lip, and so many on each ear I could not count them all. If I could describe him in a single word, it would be cartoonish. His eyes took up most of his face, large and doe-like, with all of his other features soft and small. Like the blue haired man, he was very handsome.
This upset me more than it should have, because despite how wonderful they both looked, all I could think about was how much I preferred Jimin. It was incomparable, actually. While they were certainly my type, I could only see how not Jimin-like their features were.
“Good morning,” I greeted them awkwardly, my voice scratchy. “I’m Y/N. It’s nice to meet you both.”
“It’s such an honor to meet you,” The blue haired man’s enthusiasm caught me off guard. Despite me never making the move to shake either one of their hands, he reached for mine anyway. He reminded me of a labrador retriever, and I could imagine a tail wagging in time with his vigorous handshake. “I’m Taehyung Kim. I used to watch you, like, all the time back in the day.”
I knew that name. Studying his face a little more, it hit me. Taehyung Kim, a.k.a., The Seal of Michigan, a.k.a, V. I never understood why he had been given that last one, but it must have some sort of meaning to him because the guy lights up when anyone uses it. He was a famous snowboarder and had been to the 2020 winter Olympics. He was just a few months younger than Jimin.
“That’s very kind of you to say,” I gripped his hand back a bit more now. “I watched you at the last Olympics. You did great.”
He blushed and let go of my hand, “I didn’t win anything, but I had a lot of fun.”
That was true. The kid was brand new on the scene and let some of his nerves get to him. I had learned the hard way that hesitation could ruin a great performance, but I was sure he would do better in January. The Winter Olympics were always a few months ahead of summer, and I would surely be watching Taehyung this year. If I was going to spend time with Jimin then I would need to get along with his friends.
“It’s not always about winning,” I tried to comfort him. “I didn’t win every time either.”
That placated him. Jimin quickly introduced me to Jungkook after. He was an NHL player for the Red Wings. I admitted that I had no idea who he was and never really watched hockey before, but that only made Jungkook swear to make me an avid fan before I left Michigan. For some reason, I believed him.
It did not take long for the movers to get all of my furniture and boxes into the house. With the boys’ help, I was tipping the two men much earlier than I anticipated. All three of them insisted on helping me unpack despite me telling them I could do it on my own. The place was entirely too small for the four of us, but we managed to make it work.
I had told them my bedroom was off limits. I unpacked my clothes and put my underwear away. My room was the largest in the house. With enough space for my full-sized bed, nightstands, and dresser, I was pleased. The only downside was not having a closet, but I did not bring anything nice enough for it to really matter. It was inconvenient but not the end of the world.
I was, however, happy to see more color. My blanket was dark orange, pillowcases covered in baby pink cow print, and the otter plushie Namjoon’s mom made me was resting right in between them. I installed some simple shelving above my bed, warmly lit Christmas lights wrapped around the bars, where I displayed my books and a few of my plants. The rest were lined up on the windowsill beside the bed.
Brightly colored art now hung on the walls, a large mirror above my dresser, and a peg board for my earrings made the space feel lived in. Whatever books could not fit on my shelves got stacked and put on the nightstand. I still wanted to buy a rug and curtains, but that was on the bottom of my list of priorities.
The boys were all talking and laughing as they worked which helped me relax. I hated being trapped in quiet spaces. Finished with my room, I went to check in with them and move things around. I doubted any of them would get the knick-knacks just right.
“Don’t worry about the decorations,” I said, announcing my presence. Taehyung was staring at two of my paintings with mild panic. “I’ll take that.”
Snatching the photos, I smiled at him. The living room was coming together nicely. Jungkook pushed the dark green loveseat against the wall and all of my throws were on top of it. My largest potted plant was beside it and I decided then I would keep it there. Moving the throw pillows to the floor, I started to put my wall art up. Hoseok complained that I was going to become a hoarder if I bought any more shit. Andrea, however, said that I had great taste, so I listened to her instead.
“You’re a big face of Earthy colors,” Jungkook said, looking around the house. “Lots of plants, too.”
I shrugged, “My fiancé had a lot of succulents and stuff, so I guess it rubbed off on me after a while.”
In truth, Namjoon not only had succulents and cacti, but an entire apartment filled with plants. He had a small garden in the back, vegetables and herbs growing in despite the weather in Colorado making it difficult. The man had a green thumb and loved taking care of things. I had been in charge of them once we moved in together and learned to love it. Even after he died, I couldn’t imagine not having at least five plants in the house.
I noticed the room had gone eerily quiet. I realized then what I had said. It was the first time I had spoken about Namjoon with any of them. Knowing I had made the atmosphere awkward, I tried to break up the tension.
“What colors do you like, Jungkook?”
I could physically feel the mood lighten.
“Black,” His reply was quick. I groaned. He laughed. “What? I like the clean look.”
“It’s not clean,” I argued. “It’s depressing.”
Taehyung took my side, “My house isn’t as decorated as yours, but I have more going on than either one of them. I’m a huge fan of video games and photography so I have a lot of stuff hanging up.”
“Don’t listen to him,” Jimin chimed in from the bathroom. He placed himself in charge of getting that room squared away. “His place isn’t as nice as yours. It’s all cluttered and disorganized."
“Nu uh,” Taehyung argued childishly.
“Dude, you have stuff everywhere,” Jungkook shot back, handing me another picture frame.
“They’re lying,” Taehyung told me.
“You’re so full of shit, Tae,” Jungkook sighed.
“Literally the dumbest thing to lie about,” Jimin snarkily threw in from the bathroom.
“Bullies,” Taehyung was addressing me again and this time I could not help my chuckles. “They always gang up on me.”
As the boys continued to bicker, I worked. I finished hanging up the art above the sofa and got to organizing the throws. Taehyung had already pulled out my rug, and I started figuring out how I wanted to place all of the floor pillows. Namjoon never used the couch, no one in his family did, and I had become so conscious of their comfort that I always had a large array of pillows on the floor for them to use. After a few years, I had joined them, and I kept up the trend once I moved to the Springs. The sofa was little more than decoration.
“Damn, these are nice.”
Looking over my shoulder, I was surprised to see Jungkook holding up one of my medals. I was positive I had not packed it and the box he was hunched over was completely unfamiliar as well. Embarrassment and anger swelled up in my chest. I had placed Minho and Tilly in charge of coordinating with the movers so I could focus on work and training Hoseok before I left. If I had to guess, Tilly had thought it wise to ship over a large package of my most prized possessions for some God forsaken reason.
“I don’t know why those are here,” I hoped my voice sounded playful and carefree. I did not want another tense moment. “One of my friends must have packed them.”
“Holy shit,” Taehyung was now holding the medal. “These are heavy. You have so many.”
Walking over to the box, I took out the rest of the medals. Tilly had only packed four of the eight Olympic medals I owned, probably running out of room. Framed photos of me swimming, with the rest of my team, and my coach were also in the box. My swimsuit from the last Olympics I competed at was folded at the very bottom of the box, my goggles and cap wrapped up in the fabric, and underneath it was something I had not been expecting. A framed photograph.
I remembered that night as if it were yesterday. I was eighteen coming off the back of two major wins and making my mark in the athletic community. I had just moved to Denver; Victor had gotten divorced the year prior and his ex-wife moved to Colorful Colorado taking his daughter with her. My coach demanded he was close enough to see her every weekend. It really did not matter to me where I lived, so it was one of the easier decisions I had to make.
I knew Hoseok lived in the area, and we had always been friendly at the meets we had in common. I ended up getting his number from Ozzie and after getting coffee I knew we would be friends for life. The picture was taken at his New Year’s Eve Party. I needed to get laid, he had said, and he knew a few guys he thought I might hit it off with. That was where I met Namjoon.
He was a college student, fresh faced and stumbling over his words. I was charmed by him almost instantly, even if Hoseok was positive the two of us were too different to last. I could recall the smell of fireworks in the air, the way his voice cracked whenever another one would go off, and how excited his eyes looked whenever I asked him about his major. Namjoon spoke for hours about Philosophy, all of his favorite poets, and the way he believed the universe worked. He was so clumsy it was practically a disability, and the loud sounds were so nerve wracking, he flinched whenever the fireworks boomed.
Picking up the small picture, I smiled. It was taken right after midnight. Hoseok’s sister said we looked so sweet that she could not help herself. I had all but ripped Namjoon’s hair out when the countdown began, kissing him before midnight ever came. His hands rested gently on my hips, and he huffed like he had run a marathon when we finally pulled apart. His breath was hot when he went back in for more, panting into my mouth as I clung to him like an addict. It was a beautiful moment. It was a moment I would never forget.
Suddenly, I was no longer mad at Matilda. I was sure it had been her who did this. Minho would not go through so much trouble if he thought it would upset me. Either way, I was happy to have the picture. While I was no longer in love with Namjoon, my heart slowly healing itself and making space for someone new, I would never forget our time together. It was too perfect, too magical; too loving to forget.
“Is that him?” Taehyung asked. The way he said it told me that he knew what had happened. I doubted there was a person in our world who didn't know. “The guy who died?”
I nodded, “His name was Namjoon.”
“Damn, that’s rough,” Jungkook’s voice was very gentle, and I could hear the compassion in it. “Sorry to hear that. Hope you’re doing okay.”
I smiled at him and nodded, “It was a few years ago.”
Taehyung was the one who broke the moment this time and I was grateful for the reprieve.
“These aren’t all of them, right?” He pointed at the medals still in the box. "Olympic medals, I mean."
I shook my head, “No but I guess she just grabbed the ones I had at my house. The other four I keep at my school. They’re in a case in my office.”
The ones Tilly had packed away were from 2012. Andrea had been the one to convince me to bring my other medals to school. Before that I had them all stored in a box in the deepest corner of my basement. I hated looking at them. Hated everything that they represented. The only reason these had been hanging up was because I could not be bothered taking them down.
“Where should we put them?” Jungkook asked.
I shrugged, “No idea. Just keep them in the box for now.”
Truthfully, I had no intention of putting them anywhere. While happy to have the photo of Namjoon and I, my feelings on dragging these things around had not changed. I would be very upset if I lost or damaged any of this stuff. Putting everything away, save the picture, I closed the box back up and placed the photo on my coffee table. I would find a better place for it later.
Like all of the times I had been around him, Jimin bled into the background. I listened for his voice, waited for him to add something to the conversation, but he kept to himself. Even when he left the bathroom and joined the three of us, he only answered in one-word sentences and made sound effects to show he was listening. Taehyung and Jungkook seemed used to it, so I had to believe this was just how Jimin normally was.
“You should come and grab some drinks with us,” Jungkook smiled at me.
The boys were going out for a late lunch since we finished a little later than we had thought we would. I was appreciative that they had invited me out but declined the offer. All of them were disappointed.
“Why not?” Taehyung wiggled a large set of keys at me. I could not imagine what all of them could be for and the sound they made when they moved bothered me. “You worried the food’s going to suck or something?”
I shook my head, laughing, “No, it’s nothing like that. I just don’t feel comfortable going to a bar.”
Jimin smiled at me, a small, tight-lipped smile, and I almost laughed at myself when I realized I was holding my breath. I was being ridiculous. I would call Hoseok tonight to get my head screwed back on.
“It’s not a bar,” It was heavenly to hear his voice again. “Taehyung and I don’t drink. Jungkook just likes to sit at the bar so he can watch the games.”
“Oh,” I replied dumbly. “I guess I can come along then.”
Jimin offered to give me a ride while Jungkook and Taehyung rode in the hockey player's beat up Jeep. He was just as quiet on the ride to the restaurant as he was back at the house, and while I wanted to break him out of whatever shell he had put around himself, I had no idea how. We were supposed to work together and barely spoke. Ozzie was not going to be happy about this.
“What time are we getting your car?”
I jumped, not prepared for the question. His eyes were still on the road, and it looked like he was forcing himself to not look my way. It hurt my feelings, but I knew I would have to get over it. Whatever his problem was, it had nothing to do with me and I would not let it get in between our working relationship.
“Whenever you want to go,” I replied, going back to looking out of the window.
“We’ll pick it up after we eat. My mom invited you over for dinner. by the way. If you're up for it.”
This had been the most he had said all day, but his voice was off. It was embarrassing how quickly I had become attuned to his little mannerisms, but I was so sure that something was wrong with him it was eerie. His tone was flat and disinterested, and I knew I had done nothing to upset him. Something was obviously bothering him, and I would have to silently support him in my own way. I was not comfortable being more upfront and something told me that Jimin would not like my overstepping.
“I might,” I purposely kept my tone light, hoping he did not realize I could see the darkness in his eyes. Looking at him, I asked, “What is she making?”
“Beef and radish stew,” The mundane topic seemed to ease his frown. “She got a yellow corvina from the Asian market yesterday so she’s going to roast it. Do you like fish?”
“Yeah,” I nodded. “It sounds nice. I’ll go.”
A ghost of a smile graced his pretty face and I felt like I had won the lottery. Carefully composed, I looked back out of the window, hiding my little smile behind my hand. He was quiet again, the only sounds in the car being our breathing, but it felt lighter. Finally, I let myself admire the scenery.
Taehyung and Jungkook were already at the bar when we arrived and as soon as we sat down, the snowboarder was quick to hog all of my attention. While Jungkook watched a baseball game on the big screens, Taehyung talked animatedly about his family. Jimin was quietly sipping on a Coke in the seat next to me. It was strange to see how easily his friends ignored him. Like they knew he did not feel like talking.
“My sisters are both in college,” Taehyung continued to ramble. “Twins. It was a nightmare being the baby brother.”
I nodded along and tried my best to keep up with him. I kept getting distracted by Jimin. He barely moved and seemed to be mindlessly watching the tv. He looked so sad it broke my heart. Still, no one else said anything so I kept my thoughts to myself.
“Oh!” Taehyung gasped, noticing a few people who walked in. “I’m going to go say ‘hi.’ It was so great meeting you.”
With a bright smile, Taehyung told the boys about the group and Jungkook decided to join him. Jimin did not even acknowledge he had said anything. Leaving us alone, the restaurant was loud and filled with their chattering.
“Are you hungry?” I asked, trying to make conversation. Picking up the menu the bartender had left with Taehyung when we first arrived, I gave it a quick once over. “We can split an appetizer.”
Jimin looked tired and sad, but I did not know what to say or do for him. We were not lovers, not even friends. We were a pair of strangers who were expected to work together. This seemed much easier over the phone. I took a nervous sip of my drink.
“What are you thinking?” Just the sound of him talking eased my anxiety.
“Uh,” I had barely looked at their menu and pointed to a random item. “Fried pickles?”
Jimin smiled lazily and looked at me, his eyes amused.
“You don’t sound very sure of yourself.”
I shrugged, embarrassed. “I just said the first thing I saw.”
Putting his cup down, Jimin grabbed the menu from my hands and laid it flat on the bar. We leaned over the small paper, our knees touching. I could smell his cologne now and my mouth watered. He smelled so good I struggled to focus.
“Most of the shit here is awful,” His voice had more life in it now and I was glad to see the corners of his mouth pulled up. “Only things worth getting are the chips and salsa, fried cheese, and pasties. The pizza is fine, too, but not worth the money.”
Talking distracted him from whatever had been on his mind, and it made Jungkook and Taehyung’s behavior odd. They were obviously very close, but if I could see how much happier he looked when he was shooting the shit, how couldn’t they? They probably knew something I didn’t, but it did nothing but rub me the wrong way. My friends would annoy me until I had no choice but to talk back.
“Chips are usually pretty safe,” We both agreed on it. “Do you just want chips? I don’t mind getting you a burger or something.”
He shook his head, “Like I said, most of the shit here is awful. Don’t waste your money.”
I ordered the chips for us, and the bartender was happy to help us out. This place was pathetically empty save us and the group Jungkook and Taehyung ditched us for. They were very loud and rowdy, something Jimin said was completely normal. Apparently, they all knew one another but he hadn’t felt like spending time with any of them.
“Are you feeling alright?” I asked, heart pounding. My anxiety over the question was ridiculous, but I felt like this was a good moment to ask. We were both comfortable and the tightness around his eyes was finally eased.
“Just one of those days,” He replied, voice soft.
I sighed, “I get them, too. They’re the fucking worst.”
He chuckled darkly, “It’s like you wake up and that’s already taken all of the energy you had for the day.”
“Why’d you come to the house?” I asked, flagging the bartender for a refill. “I wouldn’t have been upset if you bailed.”
Jimin flushed, “I said I was coming so I came.”
No, I thought, you thought I was going to be mad if you hadn’t shown up. Hamilton had this poor kid so fucked up and scared it pissed me off. As long as I knew Matt, he had always been an ass, but to think he had his trainee putting shit before his mental health and wellbeing made whatever sliver of respect I had for him vanish.
I took a long sip of my drink, “We can’t work together if you don’t talk to me. That will piss me off way more than you canceling on me.”
“Okay,” He let out a very large breath. “I’ll let you know next time.”
As we ate our chips, we moved into safer waters. Jimin was still less talkative in person, but nowhere near as tense as he had been all morning. I found that music was one of his favorite things, and I discussed my own interests in more depth and detail than I ever had before. Jimin’s taste was varied but stuck mostly in 90s R&B and soft Indie artists I had never heard of. At some point I ordered spicy wings and had to admit Jimin was right- they really were awful.
We left the other two behind to go and pick up my car. Jungkook and Taehyung seemed more than happy to watch us leave and the large table barely acknowledged my presence. Jimin accepted their happy shouts when he approached, hugging the ones who stood up to greet him, and forced one of his small, pitiful smiles at a particular brunette who kept batting her eyelashes at him. He introduced me but none of them seemed to really care. Especially the brunette.
“Let me get your number,” Taehyung said to me, holding out a hand for my phone. “We need to hang out again.”
I was nervous about giving him a way to contact me. He reminded me of Tilly, though ten times more energetic, and she always found a way to get on my nerves (the box being one of many examples). Taehyung had yet to overstep the imaginary boundaries I had, but his complete lack of personal space etiquette was astounding. He touched me more in one day than any of my friends in an entire year. He seemed like the type of person to text every day and send a million pictures of himself doing random shit. Even with that in mind, I handed my phone over. He was too nice to say no to.
“Do you like sushi?” Taehyung asked, handing me my phone. “There’s a great place in Detroit we can go to.”
The idea of being trapped in a car with the snowboarder for 45 minutes was not appealing. I could only imagine how much he could talk when he was really excited about something. I would entertain the idea if Jungkook or Jimin came as a buffer, especially if one of them could sit up front. Taehyung yapping away in my ear would give me the biggest migraine I had ever had, and my anxiety over not being entirely focused on the road would make me snippy and rude.
“Only if I can come,” Jungkook piped up. “You’re not going to Bash without me, dude.”
“Well yeah,” Taehyung rolled his eyes. “Y/N has to meet Milo and Darcy,” He looked at me, grinning happily. “I think you would really get along.”
I had no idea who either of those people were, but I did not want to ask any questions. Jimin was inching back towards me and telling the others goodbye, and I did not want to hold him up. Taehyung started making plans that I did not pay any attention to. He could always text me when he figured out what he wanted.
“We have to get going,” Jimin was back beside me. “Y/N’s car is sitting at the dealership. It was good seeing everyone.”
I waved at the table and started walking away before Taehyung could touch me. He was definitely a hugger. Jimin was quick to catch up with me, giggling about my “escape.” It had started to snow again, gentle flurries twisting and turning in the wind, and I had forgotten my heavy jacket at home. The long sleeve I was wearing would do nothing to keep me warm.
“Here,” Jimin taking off his jacket. “You need this more than me.”
Draping it over my shoulders, Jimin told me to zip it up. Stunned, I moved on autopilot and shoved my arms through the sleeves. Everything smelled like him, oranges and spice, and his warmth was still clinging to the thick fleece. I could not remember the last time someone had given me their jacket. Dazed, I followed Jimin out to the parking lot, eyes locked on his back. He was in nothing but a thin, black and white striped shirt.
“Thanks,” I said once we were both in the truck, already shrugging out of the light beige jacket. “You didn’t have to do that.”
He held up a hand, “Keep it. The heater is out.”
I shook my head, “What about you?”
He reached into the back and held up a purple hoodie.
“I’ll be alright.”
I put the jacket back on and buckled in. Jimin slipped into the sweatshirt and started the truck. After buckling up, he backed out of the parking lot. I caught sight of the brunette as we left. She was red faced, shouting into her phone. I looked away. Whoever she was angry with was definitely getting an earful.
“Wonder what Tom did this time,” Jimin mumbled.
“Hm?”
“Tom’s Annie’s boyfriend,” He supplied. “They’re always arguing. Worse than Jungkook and Darcy, they break up every other week, but Tom and Annie are at each other's throats every other day.”
I grimaced, “Sounds like my friends. They finally called it quits last year, but they were insufferable.”
Jimin chuckled, “So, what’s Colorado like?”
I talked to him about Andrea and Seokjin first, how we met and how much I loved their daughter. Hoseok and I’s friendship got quite a few laughs out of him, but those quickly died off when I brought up Namjoon. I told him about the day we met and the coffee date that happened a few days later, and that seemed to brighten up the mood again. Namjoon stories were bittersweet but took up such a large chunk of my life it was impossible to gloss over.
“When’s the toxic couple coming up?” He joked.
“I’m getting there,” I replied.
Hoseok and Matilda had known one another longer than the rest of us. Growing up together, no one was surprised when they finally hooked up in high school. It was, however, short lived bliss. Matilda got caught up in the wrong crowd and began doing drugs. Hoseok had tried to help her get through it, but they could never see eye-to-eye. That started their toxic cycle of getting back together, Tilly going to rehab, her relapsing, and them falling out again. It was not until she went two years ago that it managed to stick, but their relationship was too tumultuous to make it very far. They decided to stay friends and she became a constant member in our group.
“That’s crazy,” Jimin shook his head. “Happy she’s doing better now.”
“Me too.”
The rest of the drive was spent talking about Colorado and how beautiful it was. He stayed away from swimming, mostly wanting to hear about the school I worked at and the places I went to in my free time. He kept me talking for the entire 45-minute car ride, question after question keeping me on my toes. He did not like talking about himself, whenever I tried to switch the conversation to his own interests he barely responded before going back to his interrogation. Before I knew it, we were pulled into the dealership and getting down.
“You can leave,” I told him.
“I want to make sure you’re good before I go,” He replied.
The cashier was lovely, her voice bubbly and sweet as she helped me out. Jimin lingered longer than he needed to, helping me fill out my paperwork and making small talk with the dealer. I took my keys and went for a quick test drive before I was finally able to convince Jimin to leave.
The drive back was quiet. I was used to the silence when I drove, but Jimin’s voice had been soothing. Frankly, I was a bit bored without him around. I decided to call Matila and ask about my medals. She apologized but I doubted how sincere she actually was. After catching up with her, hearing all about the guy she went on a date with, and a five-minute rant about Hoseok spending way too much money on Minho’s birthday present, I hung up before she could give me a migraine. As much as I liked Tilly, she was someone I had very little patience for and her voice, high pitched and loud, was like nails on a chalkboard.
I got back in town a little after 3. Violet and Calvin were both home and watching some black and white Western. Calvin offered to make me lunch, but I was quick to decline. I just wanted some space.
As soon as I got in my apartment, I curled up in bed to take a nap. I was overwhelmed after talking so much and desperately needed to recharge. I set an alarm for 5 so I could make it over to the Park house in time for dinner. Quickly sending a quick text to Hoseok, I turned on thunderstorm sounds and closed my eyes.
Na-Yeon and James were both excited to see me, talking about their days and asking how I was settling in. Eloise was there as well, the twins in the back room playing again. Jimin was going to be late. He had gone for a last-minute swim with Milo. When I asked them who that was, it was Eloise who answered.
“That’s Vincent’s fiancé.”
“Who?” I was even more confused.
“Taehyung,” Na-Yeon answered. “You know he hates that name as much as Jimin hates his, Lou."
Eloise blushed, her entire face turning a bright shade of red.
“Sorry,” She scratched behind her ear. Looking back at me, she sighed, “We went to school together. Old habit.”
Now V made sense. It never occurred to me that Jungkook and Taehyung could have their own American names, and neither one introduced themselves that way either. James came to take the seat beside mine, the dining table more crowded then was reasonably necessary.
“Does Jungkook have a second name?” I asked.
“Ian,” Eloise replied. “He goes by both, so I don’t think he cares as much as Tae and Jimin. I know his girlfriend uses both.”
I assumed that was Darcy. Why else would Taehyung assume she would go with us on a day trip to Detroit?
“They call him Ian on the team, too,” James chimed in. “His name is too hard.”
Namjoon never had an American name, at least, not one I had ever heard. The only person I could think of was Hoseok. A lot of his friends called him Jay, something about an old nickname from school, but that was it. Seokjin just went by Jin, Namjoon went by Joon, and Minho went by…well, Minho. None of their parents used American-Friendly names, and Seokjin’s father’s English was still poor even after living here for so long.
“Y/N,” Na-Yeon brought me back to the conversation. “What banchan do you like?”
“My eomeo-nim made these delicious, braised potatoes,” I answered, thinking back on our dinners together. “Kimchi, of course. My ex made the best braised lotus roots. They were always yummy.”
Na-Yeon seemed pleased by my answer. James and Eloise started rambling about their own favorites. Unlike Namjoon, Mr.Park was a big fan of seafood. He grew up in Busan near the Jagalchi Market, which, according to him, was the largest seafood market in South Korea. Eloise talked a little about her favorite Korean dishes before jumping into what she grew up eating. Her father was Scottish and her mother French, so one night she was eating Scottish Pie and daube niçoise the next. It was fun hearing more about Eloise. I would have never guessed she was a first generation American.
“It’s something Tony and I had in common,” She added. “He learned quite a bit of French before he died. Unfortunately, my Korean is taking much longer.”
“Mine isn’t that great either,” I admitted. “Namjoon’s family spoke English and never liked to make me feel awkward. I can follow a conversation fairly well, but only if you speak slowly.”
James laughed, “I will remember that.”
The front door opened, and I could hear loud talking. Eloise sighed. Whoever was with Jimin did not pass her inspection it would seem. She and James seemed to have a small conversation with their eyes. The men were still at the front of the house. Finally, Eloise looked away and scowled.
“Must have brought Milo and Tae over,” She muttered. “I’m going to go check on the twins.”
Eloise left the table. James told me to ignore her. She and Milo did not get along for whatever reason and she chose to ignore him. It was not my business, so I accepted that explanation.
I prepared myself for a bad interaction. So far, Eloise was such a quiet and sweet person I could not imagine anyone actively disliking her. Then again, this was Taehyung’s fiancé, and he was the nicest, most bubbly person I had ever met. It did not seem likely that he would hang around bad company. It could just be a case of personalities clashing.
“Annyeong,” Taehyung greeted us brightly, immediately finding me. “Babe, come say hi.”
A massive, pale man followed in behind him. Milo was a good-looking guy, bright blue eyes and dirty blonde hair, with a solid build. He reminded me of the male swimmers I worked with, his huge size and bulging muscles intimidating. His fashion sense was not as good as Taehyung’s. Ill-fitting black bottoms and a Rick and Morty t-shirt that made me want to roll my eyes. I was definitely biased, my loyalties already in Eloise’s corner. I did not need to know a backstory to be weary. The dude looked enough like Matthew Hamilton to make me dislike him just off principal.
“Milo, Y/N,” Taehyung introduced, gesturing between the two of us. Behind him, Jimin snuck into the kitchen and gave his mom a kiss on the cheek as a greeting. He looked nice in his gray tracksuit. “Y/N, this is my fiancé, Milo.”
I managed a disingenuous smile, “Nice to meet you.”
“Likewise,” He replied. His voice was smokey.
“Where’s Lou?” Jimin asked, coming around to greet his father.
“Checking on Harper and Cam,” James told him.
There was not enough room for all of us to sit at the table and I ended up giving up my seat to Na-Yeon. Jimin helped her set the table while I was put in charge of gathering Eloise and the kids. Walking down the hallway, I found the kids’ playroom and knocked.
“Dinner’s ready,” I announced, poking my head inside.
The room was bigger than I thought it would be. Each side was decorated in stereotypical boy and girl colors, Cameron’s bed and wall art a wide variety of blues and teals with dinosaur decals on the walls, while Harper’s was a mix up of baby pink and white. Her bed had more stuffed animals on it than I could count and all of them seem well loved. Their toys split the room in half, a large, circle rug in the middle of it all. Most of the toys were thrown on the floor and Eloise was telling them it was time for them to clean it up.
The children looked so cute in their little matching outfits. Harper’s black hair was braided down her back and the ribbon tied at the end of it matched her cream-colored overalls. Cam’s hair was on the longer side as well, falling to his shoulders with a slight wave. His bright red converse stuck out against the rather plain outfit he was wearing, and I had to assume he put up a fight behind them. Harper started to sing the Barney song as they cleaned.
“Feeling, okay?” I asked their mother. She was sitting in the chair on Harper’s side. “You ran off pretty quickly.”
She shook her head, “It’s nothing. We’ve never gotten along.”
I raised an eyebrow, “Do you want to eat here? I’ll sit with you.”
She smiled, “We can play nice, don’t worry. Thanks, though. I appreciate you asking.”
Dinner was as uneventful as Eloise said it would be. She and Milo greeted one another and then acted as if the other did not exist. I stood up to eat, Taehyung, Milo, and Jimin with me while the others sat down. Cam was excited to talk about school and Harper rambled on and on about her imaginary friend Butter Squash. They were both very sweet and it made me miss Dani. The last time I saw her was when we went skating the weekend before I left.
Taehyung was as talkative as ever. His touches also become bolder. By the time I left, he had an arm around my shoulders and his body pressed against my side. Milo was unbothered by our closeness. He and Jimin spoke the most and again the guy I knew when no one else was around seemingly vanished. This one was too put together, too closed off, and no one, and I mean no one, seemed to care. Every time he laughed half-heartedly or nodded along with whatever Milo was talking about, I felt more confused. Why was he so hot and cold all of the time?
During my drive back home, I tentatively attempted to listen to the radio. I only lasted around a minute or so before I switched it off. I needed silence. The Parks were such a lovely family, but tonight was too much. Between unpacking and Taehyung, I was drained. Hoseok had asked me to call him when I got home but I was going to wait. If it was important enough, he would call me himself.
I fell asleep as soon as my face hit the pillow, my medication making it a dreamless night.
The rest of the week was quiet. I called my friends back home to check in Thursday morning and was happy about Hoseok’s progress. The kids were really liking him, and he thought he may have a permanent job for next year if I decided to keep working with Jimin. I told him not to get his hopes up.
Jimin and I spoke through text daily. He was still going about his normal routine while I brainstormed training and scheduling. By Saturday I was ready to start testing out different ideas. We both seemed eager to get started, actually. Sunday, like I expected, was very quiet. That was his mom’s day, so I tried not to bother him. Violet and Calvin kept me company.
The Andersons were nice people. Violet was always coming to the back and inviting me to join them for breakfast, and her husband enjoyed asking me about my life. Calvin was far more personable than his wife was, but they managed to balance one another out. Sunday evening was the first time I noticed Calvin’s memory issues. He had no idea who I was. I came inside and Violet had to tell him I was their daughter Nancy’s babysitter. He was under the assumption that she was still 10. I left them alone when Violet asked me to pick her up from school. She came out back a few hours later to thank me for going along with everything, and I made sure that she had my phone number in case she needed me to help out if things got out of hand.
It was still dark outside when I left Monday morning. Jimin and I agreed to meet up at 6 am to start our day, but I wanted to get to the gym early. Time to set up and get myself in the right headspace was important to me.
The location he had sent me was more remote than I had originally anticipated. Jimin owned the little gym. It had been a swim school in the past and the place he had first learned he loved the water. He and his mom went to classes together when he was young. The place had been too expensive for the previous owners to keep up with and they were planning on selling it, but Jimin bought it off of them and converted it into a public gym/pool.
In our text exchanges he called it his retirement plan, but I was sure the place meant more to him than that. He had no interest in it until after the cancer diagnosis. If I was to over analyze it, I would say he was trying to hold onto a happy memory. This was their place before sickness and death ran through his family. I would imagine anyone would want to keep something that held so much sentimental value if they could.
Pulling into the parking lot, I was first struck by two things. One, it was open and there were people inside, and two, it was huge. Most of the building was nothing but windows giving me a great view of the muscled men inside. Bright fluorescent lights made my sensitive eyes hurt, and I could hear the faint sound of music coming from somewhere near the gym. The small group of men were together, all of them lifting and spotting each other while talking, and a sense of dread filled my belly.
I was always anxious when I went to a new place, but a new gym was a nightmare. I had bad experiences in the past. Overly friendly creeps who liked to stand around and watch me while I worked out. None of the guys inside gave off bad vibes, but I was still in my car and none of them laid their eyes on me. A woman in a gym was like a drop of blood in water. I had to hope they were not sharks.
Gathering courage, I grabbed my duffle and made my way inside. A pretty, dark-skinned, young woman was sitting at the receptionist desk, and I felt more at ease. If they left her alone then maybe they would not cause me too much trouble either. The music was louder inside, and I recognized the Ciara song. It was a great one for cardio. Fighting the urge to dance, I greeted the receptionist. She put down her magazine and gave me an award-winning grin. She had a nice, dimpled smile.
“Hi there,” She had a thick, Southern accent and I could not tell you where she might be from. I was awful at telling them apart. “Do you have your membership card?”
I laughed nervously, my grip on my bag tightening. “No. I’m here to train with Jimin Park. He said I should have something on file.”
She nodded, her smile unwavering as she looked at her computer and asked for my name.
“Y/N Y/L/N,” I replied, foot tapping along to the Lil Wayne song that came on. I had this one on my own workout playlist back in 2008. I could not help mumbling the words under my breath, “She-she-she lick me like a lollipop.”
“Found you,” The girl grabbed a few sheets of paper from a pile on her side of the desk. “Just fill these out for me and we’ll get your card printed. Your fees have been paid already so no need to worry about that.”
I nodded, half listening. This song was great. Why has it been so long since I last heard it? I went to the gym all the time. I needed to put it back on my playlist. Honestly, the entire Carter III needed to find its way back into my rotation.
“My name’s Giselle if you need anything,” The receptionist pointed to a cluster of chairs right at the front entrance. “You’re super early so Christian isn’t here yet, but I’ll give you the key to the pool room so you can do whatever you need before the boss gets in.”
I smiled at her, “Thank you, Giselle.”
“Anytime, ma’am.”
It took me a few minutes to fill the paperwork out and scan my ID, but Giselle made everything as quick as she could. One of the men working out had come by to ask for some wipes to clean off a few of the machines but left without anything more than a ‘good morning’ thrown in my direction. When we passed by the rest of them on the way to the pool house, we were completely ignored, so it was safe for me to say that they would not be a problem for me in the future. Creeps were never subtle about their creepiness.
“I have to double check with Christian, but I think I’m supposed to give you a spare key,” Giselle said, unlocking the pool. “I’m just going to be sure before I promise you anything. Don’t want to get fired.”
I could tell she was joking. Jimin did not strike me as the type of guy to fire anyone over something like that. It only made sense for me to have a spare key since we would be coming around so much, and I would feel bad about disrupting the staff whenever I needed to get inside. They did not get paid enough to deal with that on top of all of the rest of their duties.
“We keep it locked until 9,” Giselle continued, leading the way inside. “Then we close it back up at 5. Maintenance comes in every Tuesday to treat the water, so you’ll have to be out of here no later than 7. Boss man knows this already so you shouldn’t have any problems with that.”
The pool room was very bland and bare bones. The smell of chlorine hung heavily in the air while the lights around the pool walls illuminated the dark room. It was very big, and I itched to go for a quick dip. The coolness of the water would be nice against my skin. I had grown hot with nerves and gotten a little sweaty.
“We have a few other staff members that will be in around the same time the boss man comes in,” Giselle continued to give me the rundown. “I’m sure he’ll introduce you to everyone just in case you need anything. I’d say make nice with Yoongi first. He’s our in-house massage therapist.”
Pointing to a door on the far-left wall, Giselle let me know that was the pool locker room and the door right next to it was a shortcut to the back offices. Management, marketing, and facility supervisors were usually all back there and I would more than likely never see them. They were not the most social people and worked from home a lot. I could tell by Giselle’s voice that she did not particularly care for management.
“Drew should be here by now,” She checked her smart watch. “She’s the general manager. I’m going to go and grab her and see about that key. She might come back to say ‘hi’ but don’t hold your breath.”
I chuckled, “That bad?”
Giselle rolled her eyes, “Drew’s fine, but Dominic is usually following her around everywhere and he’s annoying. You’ll get what I mean if you ever see them together.”
I laughed, “I’ve had my fair share of weirdos. Thanks again. I appreciate you showing me around.”
She beamed, “It wasn’t a problem. You gave me a reason to get up from the desk, so I’d say it’s a win.”
We spoke for a few more minutes until a very large, bulky man popped his head in looking for her. His black t-shirt clung to him tightly and his shorts were a hideous neon pink color. He did have a nice smile, one that took up most of his face and teeth so white they looked fake. Giselle introduced me very quickly, and the man, Sam, turned out to be one of the personal trainers on staff.
“You’re the Olympian, right?” Sam asked. Jimin must really like people who talked a lot, because I had never met more outgoing people in my life before moving here. Everyone he surrounded himself with was just full of energy, and I wondered if it was purposeful. Jimin himself was a rather quiet and sad person. “Jimin talks about you all the time.”
I laughed awkwardly, face heating, “That’s me.”
“Sick,” Suddenly an image of Sam surfing in California flashed through my mind. He just seemed like the type. “Well, I have to go and help out a client, but it was nice meeting you. Gigi, can you go back up front before Drew pitches a fit?”
Giselle sighed heavily, “Tell her I’m coming,” Looking at me she asked if I was okay on my own. “Come and get me if you need anything, okay?”
After assuring her that I was fine, Giselle left behind Sam. The two of them bickered like an old married couple, and I wondered about their relationship. He did call her a little nickname. I shook my head. Regardless, I had other things I needed to take care of before I could get lost in thought about two strangers.
Unpacking my duffle, I threw on my whistle and stopwatch before getting to work on my schedule. I had brought a lot of my personal swimming gear with me like training bands, coach communicator, and forearm fulcrum. Back in the day, I was the brand ambassador for Finis, so I had a lot of their products. The tracksuit I was wearing was from Speedo, and I had so much of their stuff for the same reason. Being a famous swimmer had its perks.
I had planned on doing a lot of drill and some short-burst efforts with Jimin. He had been without a PT for a few weeks now, and while I trusted him to stay in shape, it was no secret someone would be performing less on their own than with guidance. I did not want to over work him when he was, for all intents and purposes, been on a vacation. So, while I wanted to rush head-first into training, I would try to ease into things a bit before going full asshole on the kid. Like Victor would say, “Three times a week for three weeks.” After that, he was going to be at my mercy.
It was just past 6 when Jimin walked into the pool room. I was flipping through my training plan for the day and humming along to the music blasting through the speakers, echoing off the walls. Whoever was in charge of the playlist had a thing for the early 2000s.
“Morning,” His soft voice brought a smile to my face. He sounded tired. “What do you think about the place?”
Stealing a look at him, I had to hold back the gasp that I wanted to let out. He was wearing a black tank top and shorts giving me a great look at his skin. Embarrassed by my reaction, I internally scolded myself. I needed to get over this crush already. I was about to see a lot more of his body once he went to the back to change. I bit my lip. I had no idea how I was going to deal with him in a speedo.
“It’s very nice,” I was happy with how nonchalant I sounded. “Wasn’t expecting it to be so big.”
I wonder what else is big… I nibbled on the inside of my cheek. I really needed to get my mind out of the gutter. Scratch that- I should have dealt with this problem the second I realized it was there. I was going to force myself to call Hoseok today. He would know what to do, and if not, at least I could vent a little.
“Sleep okay?”
I jumped out of my ever-degrading thoughts.
“Yeah,” I sniffed. “Had fun with your mom? I wanted to give you two some space, so I stayed to myself.”
He smiled and I melted. Yeah, this needed to stop. I was too grown to be acting like this around a man.
“I appreciate it. We missed you at dinner, though. My dad kept complaining that things were quiet now.”
I chuckled, “Eloise and the kids not loud enough?”
He shook his head, “She didn’t come over.”
He tossed his sports bag next to mine and pulled out his swim gear. I caught a flash of his speedo and quickly looked away. The visuals going through my mind were distracting enough.
“Do you want to go over everything before I get changed?” Asked Jimin.
I shook my head, “No, go ahead. It’s going to be a chill day.”
“You got it, coach.”
I did not breathe until I heard the locker room door slam shut. Tossing my clipboard onto my bag, I roughly rubbed my face. I needed to pull myself together.
My attraction was easy to ignore and forget about when he was not in my face, but the second I got my eyes on him it was all I could focus on. I was awkward and fumbling all over the place whenever he was around. I focused on him far too much, far more than I should be due to our relationship, and it was driving me insane. I needed to take a breather, but I did not have enough time and I did not want to make him worried. Jimin seemed like the type of person who would become consumed by anxiety if he thought I was upset with him in any way. No, I would have to suck it up and get through this training session like an adult.
The locker room door opened. Jimin’s bare feet were loud against the gray, stone floor. I refused to look at him. I wasn’t ready yet. Bending over, I grabbed the clipboard and cleared my throat. I was hoping to get him in the water first, and then I could safely conduct myself in a professional way. The less skin I had to see at a time the better. I pointed at the pool.
“Like I said, it’s going to be an easy day,” He was walking away from me, and I felt the tightness in my chest lighten. “You’ve been without a trainer for a bit, and I’m not sure how intense your workouts have been since. Your warmup is just 10 minutes of easy swimming, and then we’ll go over our main set.”
I heard him get into the water with a splash and relaxed. I could handle him in the water. No one looked good with those stupid goggles on. I walked to the edge of the pool, clipboard in my hand, and stole a quick look.
As suspected, he did not look as potent like this. His hair was hidden beneath a red and white cap, and blue goggles obstructed most of his face. It was impossible to make out most of his body as he glided through the water, but I got a great look at his arms. He was more muscular than I gave him credit for. He was smaller and more lean than other swimmers, but I could see why he was able to dominate.
He was very fast, but I could already tell he was pushing harder than I wanted him to. Blowing my whistle, I let him know I only wanted him swimming at 80% effort. Jimin pulled a face and lifted his goggles up. Now that he was stagnant, I got a clear look at his chest and swallowed thickly. He needed to start moving or else I might have a heart attack.
“Why?” He was incredulous.
“Like I said, I don’t want you to overwork yourself. You’ve been on a vacation for four weeks now and we need to work our way back up to more intensive sets. It’ll only be for a couple of weeks.”
He pushed back again, “I’ve been coming here every day for hours. I think I’m fine.”
I shook my head, “I’m not trying to be a dick, and I’m not calling you a liar, but I am skeptical of the quality of the training.”
“But-”
“I haven’t been here to see your routine,” I cut him off before whatever smart ass comment he was planning to say could even come out. Jimin’s annoyance was plain as day, and I was not about to put up with a tantrum. “I’m known for being a hard ass, and I’m going to push you harder than you’ve ever been pushed before. You can ask Coach Bunch about me if you want. I will make sure you’re in the best shape of your life this year, but not at the expense of getting you injured.”
He took a deep breath before responding, “With all due respect, I’ve been putting in a lot of work by myself. I don’t think I need kid gloves.”
I smirked, cocking my head to the side. “Is that what you think this is?”
“Isn’t it?” He shrugged, pouting.
He was cute when he was mad.
“Humor me,” I replied. “We do things my way for the week and if I think you’re good to go by Friday then we’ll get back to normal training. How does that sound?”
Jimin thought for a moment before smiling at me.
“I can live with that.”
I chuckled, “Good to know. Now, put your goggles back on and finish your warmup. We’re wasting time arguing.”
As I suspected, once we started our drills, he did not perform up to the standards I had for him. Even at 75% what he was capable of, I could already see the areas he needed to work on. His butterflies were beautiful, but I could pick apart his breast and back strokes. I was happy with his free swim at the end, and I was going to start there the next session. I was hoping by starting off with compliments that we could become more comfortable with one another before I had to get serious. Those breast strokes would drive me insane until he could execute them perfectly every time.
“How am I doing?” Jimin asked during a cool down, doing a few laps before we started our drills again. “I know my breast strokes aren’t that great. I’ve always struggled with them.”
At least he was self-aware, I thought.
“We definitely have stuff to work on,” I replied. “Don’t worry too much about that right now. We can start talking about it more next week.”
He sighed, annoyed, and I laughed. He was very grumpy when it came to his swimming. Not wanting to upset him again, I decided to give him something.
“I would like to watch you swim a bit more and make a plan before giving you my opinion. My coach used to do that with me, and I found it helpful.”
We trained until eight-thirty, and I looked over my notes while Jimin cooled down. We did not talk as much as I would have liked, but it was probably for the best. His body was distracting, and I did not think I was doing a very good job at hiding my reactions to him. He did not seem to notice, or he was simply sparing my feelings, either way he was happy to keep relatively quiet. We only talked about training while he was in the water, and I was grateful he was maintaining his professionalism.
“When will we be back again?” Jimin asked, his last few minutes running down on the timer. “You said Wednesday, right?”
I nodded absentmindedly, in my own little world as I flipped through my notes. I had more than I thought I would have, all of them having to do with fixing his form and how we could go about it. New exercises, grueling training days, and a few new tools that I was not sure he had ever used before, would mold him into a swimmer I would glow with pride over. Park had always been a talented man, but I wanted to see if we could reach for something more. Something bigger and better than he could have imagined. I wanted to make Matthew fucking Hamilton look like the incompetent bastard I knew him to be.
“We’re done for the day,” I sighed, clicking the alarm off. “Do you want me to come for your night swim?”
Jimin ripped the goggles off, rubbing his eyes and already going to release his cap. I bit down on the inside of my mouth. He was so pretty and soft, and the way his muscles flexed as he swam to the edge of the pool made my stomach flutter. I looked away before he hoisted himself out of the water. I did not need that image floating around in my already depraved head.
“You can come if you want,” He replied casually. “I’m mostly hitting the gym when I’m here in the evenings. I only take a dip for thirty minutes and leave.”
I hummed, fighting the urge to look at his body. I focused instead on my breathing and writing down what he had just said. I did not want to forget that. It might be useful for me in the future. If we could exercise together, it would give me an opportunity to guide him through some of my favorite tricks to help with swimming.
“Will someone else be with you?”
“Probably Jungkook and Darcy. They’re my usual gym buddies when Milo is working.”
“Darcy’s his girlfriend, right?” I wanted to see if my hunch from the other night was right.
“Yeah. They’ve been going out for a couple of years now. She’s alright. Not as shy as you.”
I snorted, “You think I’m shy?”
Then I made a critical mistake. Looking over at Jimin, I nearly choked on my own spit. His skin was perfectly smooth, not a blemish in sight, and cream-colored. His body was just as pretty as his face, smooth abs and a tiny waist that led to toned and thick thighs. The tiny scrap of red fabric covering his private area did not stop my eyes from glancing. I looked away before I started to stare.
Hoseok was going to have a field day with this.
“I know you are,” He teased, his voice so soft and sweet. I briefly wondered what he would sound like in bed. I fought desperately to rid myself of that imagery. This could not be happening right now. “You’re so shy you can’t even look at me right now.”
His cocky attitude should have annoyed me, but instead it only further fueled my lust. Every time I had seen this man, he gave me such tonal whiplash it was beginning to drive me insane. First it was this innocent little angel facade that quickly became sarcastic and witty when he decided he could play around without me getting angry. Then it was the whole sad puppy thing he had going on for the last week. Now here he was, practically naked and getting riled up over me telling him what to do, and puffing his chest with confidence I never thought he was capable of. It would have pissed me off if I did not find him ridiculously attractive.
“Go get dressed, Park,” My voice was clipped and too harsh. I winced and quickly worked to soften the blow. Getting defensive only made me look worse. “We can get breakfast if you’re not busy. My treat.”
“Sure, coach.”
When I heard the locker room close, I let out a deep sigh. My sexual frustration was getting in the way of my work, and I hated it. Pulling my phone from my back pocket, I sent Hoseok a text.
Me: I think I’m crushing on Park
Me: Help me get rid of it
The reply did not come until I was done packing up my things. The workout stuff I had brought with me had been useless today, but I was afraid of forgetting where they were the next time I might need them, so they never left the bag. My phone vibrated just as I was done zipping up my bag. I could hear the shower in the locker room and clenched my thighs together. I was still thinking of how pretty his belly was, the tattoo on his ribs pitch-black against his pale skin, and how solid his calves looked. I unlocked my phone and nearly cried laughing when I saw the response.
Hobi: HAHAHAHA
Hobi: Sex is always the answer
Hobi: Never thought I’d see the day you became a cougar
I have no idea why I thought he would be any help. So, I licked my wounds and messaged Andy (like I should have done in the first place) and knew whatever she had to say would be far more helpful than my stupid best friend’s word of “advice.” I just had to hope it would be enough to make all of these feelings stop.

for ghoulette prompts, maybe cirrus or mist teaching new summon! aurora how to kiss?
happy valentines day btw <3
well this ended up as more dialogue than kissing. oops.
just cirrus and aurora spending time together and getting used to each other. aurora is equal parts nervous and eager, but she's also very, well, aurora about it haha
slice of life fluff. enjoy xx
“Why me?” Cirrus asks, twirling a stark white strand between her fingers.
“I dunno,” Aurora says. “You’re quiet. Safe. Some of the others can be . . .”
“A lot?” The taller ghoulette offers with a smile.
Aurora nods, a little color rising to her cheeks. She looks down at her lap. “Not that I haven’t, you know, thought about it,” she mumbles.
“Oh?” Cirrus drops the lock of hair, placing her hand warmly on Aurora’s shoulder instead. “What have you thought about?”
The question gets her squirming. She quickly shoves her hands between her knees to keep from wringing them and laughs nervously. “I guess. How you all look and sound when you—” She rolls her eyes. Shakes her head at what she’s about to say. “—when you do it.” She mocks her inferior replacement phrase for ‘kissing’ and its underlying innuendo.
“Anyone in particular?”
Aurora furrows her brow, her face growing pinker. “Sometimes Swiss looks at me like I’m food and I . . . like it?”
Cirrus snorts. “Been there. His excuse is always ‘I like looking at pretty things,’ but I think he forgets he looks a bit like a predator when he does it.”
They share a giggle, and it’s nice. Cirrus’ hand is warm on her arm and her eyes are kind, patient. There’s an air about her that makes her feel like she could sit beside her in silence all afternoon and still feel comfortable—even though Aurora’s heart feels like it might sprout wings and flutter out of her chest. Despite the waves of anxiety Cirrus must be able to feel rolling off of her, the older ghoulette remains unbothered and unhurried. And Lucifer is she silently thankful for that.
“You think Swiss thinks I’m pretty?” she asks in a small voice a few moments later.
“Aurora,” Cirrus lilts, voice going a little deeper. “I know he does.” She shifts her leg closer until their thighs touch, yet still leaving plenty of space between them. A shiver runs down Aurora’s spine at the tiny point of contact. Mood shifting instantly to something more enticing, a shift she’s been waiting, itching, to feel for herself.
“Do you?”
Cirrus smiles. “Do I what?”
She pouts, but she can feel how it fails. “Do you think I’m pretty, Cirrus?”
“Of course, I think you’re very pretty,” she answers easily. “I assume the feeling is mutual?”
The smaller ghoulette nods quickly. “So pretty. I mean, everyone’s pretty—I mean, but you’re, you know—”
Cirrus shushes her gently and pulls her closer by the waist, causing Aurora to let out an inelegant squawk. She’s pressed against her side now, Cirrus’ arms wrapped around her torso lazily and their faces much, much closer than before. A little breeze whips around them both, smells of fresh autumn leaves and crisp hydrangea wafting around, laced with something darker, almost smokey.
“How about we start our lesson, cute thing?” she says softly. “Or you can keep complimenting me.” Cirrus offers her a wink, tossing her raven black hair over her shoulder. “Either is good.”
“The kissing, please,” Aurora blurts out before she can scurry away in embarrassment. She never imagined she’d be this skittish once they got down to it. But now that Cirrus is so close—tall, dark, gorgeous Cirrus—her face is over-warm, and she just doesn’t know what to do with her hands. Or the rest of her body, for that matter.
“Nothing to be nervous about, I promise.” She pats her knee before unwedging her hands from between her legs. Cirrus holds them in both of her own, making soothing circles with her thumbs and offering her another gentle smile. “We’ve all been there. And you don’t have to worry about ‘getting it right’ or impressing me. Just follow my lead.”
And closer she gets, bringing her elegant hands up to cup the side of her face and making those same soothing motions with her thumbs along the tops of Aurora’s cheekbones. The smaller ghoulette’s breath hitches in her throat. She thinks she’s nodding yes, she doesn’t know. All she can see, smell, feel is Cirrus, and suddenly she’s eager to learn.
“Do you trust me?” She whispers, mouth inches away from Aurora’s and dark blue eyes searching her bright cotton-candy ones. Those same eyes dart down to her lips, as quick as a hummingbird’s wings, before meeting her gaze once more.
Aurora swallows, belly flipping in anticipation. Heat curling in places she hasn’t yet explored.
“Yes,” she breathes. Lashes fluttering over her cheeks before Cirrus even starts to lean in.
The breath of Cirrus’ huffed laugh fans over her face, and then her lips press against her own, soft and chaste. It’s just a soft brush, no real heat behind it. But before Aurora can form any kind of protest, Cirrus is kissing her again, a series of the same, feather-light touches that make a delightful noise each time they part.
“Thas’ nice,” Aurora mumbles against her lips.
“Good,” Cirrus whispers in reply, smiling slightly and shifting her hands to cradle the back of her neck. The action sends a tingle across her shoulders, mouth inadvertently dropping open in a soft oh. Cirrus uses that to her advantage, tilting her head ever so and turning the kiss from sweet into something deeper, more romantic. Lips actually slotting together, molding to each other. The slight change makes Aurora grab hold of her shirt, hungry to have her even closer. Hungry to kiss her back, albeit sloppily, just barely stopping herself from accidentally putting a fang through Cirrus’ lip as she scrambles into her lap.
“Hey,” she laughs, pulling away. “Hold on, baby.”
“What,” Aurora asks breathlessly, cheeks flushed and lips already puffy and spit-slicked.
“Take it slow,” Cirrus soothes. “There’s no rush.”
“Oh.” She looks away, tail tucking between Cirrus’ spread knees. “Sorry.”
“Nothing to be sorry for,” she assures. “Nothing wrong with being eager, either.” She touches the pad of a finger to the tip of one of Aurora’s tiny fangs, smiling when she visibly restrains herself from moving. Aurora knows they’re sharp. Nicked her own skin one too many times in her first few weeks topside. She just wanted more, and frankly, now she’s a little mad at her own body for getting in the way of that.
“But you have to watch these, baby,” Cirrus tells her softly.
Aurora nods once she removes her finger. “Can we try again?”
“What kind of teacher would I be if I failed you for making a mistake?”
“Uh . . . a bad one?”
Cirrus laughs then, pulling Aurora close and nuzzling into her neck. She presses a kiss there, enthusiastic and playfully over the top, rubbing her nose along the ends of her hair until the smaller ghoulette giggles and swats her away.
“Come here. Let's start again.”

Galileo Galilei Birthday Story
Translations may not always capture the exact nuances or tone of the original text. Expect grammatical errors and inaccuracies.
Not proofread. Rush translation.
Mitsuki: "So, Galileo."
Mitsuki: "Do you have a favorite food? It could be a dish or an ingredient."
Galileo paused from eating and turned toward me with a slightly puzzled expression.
Galileo: "Why are you suddenly asking me that?"
Mitsuki: "Well, your birthday is coming up, right? I thought I'd make something you really enjoy."
Galileo: "Birthday."
Galileo: "I see, from this year on, you'll be here with me."
Mitsuki: "Yep."
It will be the first birthday we spend together since our feelings became mutual.
That's why I'm eager to make it special.
Mitsuki: "Actually, I wanted to surprise you by making something, but then I realized I still don't know much about you."
Galileo: ".........."
Even though my feelings for him kept getting stronger, I still didn't know much about him.
As I lowered my gaze in frustration, a cool hand touched my cheek.
Galileo: "Don't make that face. From now on, we'll get to know each other little by little."
(Little by little, huh? He's right.)
Even that gentle smile of his was something I couldn't have seen not too long ago.
Mitsuki: "Okay, thanks."
Returning his smile, he nodded and neatly placed his cutlery on the plate.
Galileo: "Oh, right. For my birthday, could you prepare schiacciata with grapes?"
Mitsuki: "Schiacciata?"
Galileo: "Yeah. In some regions, it's also called focaccia."
Mitsuki: "Ah, I know focaccia, but I've never had one made with grapes."
Galileo: "It's a traditional pastry from my hometown. You won't really find it around here."
Mitsuki: "I see. That makes sense."
(Wait, but how am I supposed to make it?)
(Maybe I should check the bookstore or the library.)
Then, as if sensing my little dilemma, Galileo spoke up.
Galileo: "Don't worry. There should be a recipe in the local history book in my room."
Mitsuki: "That's great! Thank you."
I sighed in relief at his words.
Galileo: "To put it simply, it's made by layering dough with grapes and baking it."
Galileo: "However, you should use grapes meant for winemaking, not the kind for eating raw."
Galileo: "My hometown is known for its grape cultivation. My family often made it."
Mitsuki: "So, it's a taste filled with memories of your family."
Galileo: "Yeah."
(I'm so happy that he requested a dessert with such sentimental value.)
I learned one more thing about him.
Mitsuki: "Got it."
Mitsuki: "I'll start practicing tomorrow, and on the day of your birthday, I'll treat you to a delicious schiacciata!"
Galileo: "I'm looking forward to it."
(If I'm going to do this, I want to be particular about the grapes. But fresh grapes for winemaking might not be available at the market. Oh, I know!)
I made a suggestion as an idea struck me.
And so, the day of his birthday arrived.
Mitsuki: "Wow, the air smells nice!"
We'd escaped the bustle of Paris and traveled to a vineyard in the countryside.
Galileo: "The grapes are in good condition. It looks like this year's harvest will be a good one."
Vineyard Owner: "Yes. The weather's been kind to us this year, and I'm confident it'll be a remarkable vintage."
This little trip was the very suggestion I'd made to him that evening.
He agreed and even rescheduled his university lectures.
(I'm so glad I was bold enough to invite him. Galileo looks like he's enjoying himself.)
On top of that, we were able to get fresh grapes, and I got to spend the entire day with him.
Galileo: "The vineyard on the other side of the river looks like it has lower hedges."
Vineyard Owner: "That's because they're a different variety. The soil on the other side of the river is completely different from here."
The friendly vineyard owner led the way, explaining as we followed him through the fields.
Vineyard Owner: "But even with the same climate, the grapes here achieve a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity, just like on the other side."
Galileo: "The soil, huh?"
Suddenly, he stopped walking and crouched, running his hand through the soil to feel its texture.
Galileo: "This side seems to be a clay-rich soil, retaining just the right amount of moisture."
Vineyard owner: "Yes, thanks to that, the wine we make here has a smoother, fruitier flavor and is easier to drink."
Galileo: "I see."
He stood up again, gazing back across the river.
Galileo: "Judging by the terrain, the other side is probably gravelly soil. If that characteristic is a product of the soil's water retention ability, then the wines produced on the well-drained opposite bank would likely be rich and deep-flavored."
Vineyard Owner: "----!"
Galileo: "You're utilizing the unique characteristics of each soil type in your cultivation."
(Wow. He can even predict how the wine will taste just by looking at the soil.)
Vineyard owner: "I'm impressed! You've got quite an eye, sir. I'd hire you at our château if you ever wanted a job."
Galileo: "I'll pass, but I'll gladly take some wine as a souvenir."
Watching him enjoying himself made me smile.
Vineyard Owner: "Take your time and enjoy yourselves!"
Mitsuki: "Thank you."
We parted ways with the owner after he taught us how to choose the best grapes.
Mitsuki: "Shall we start picking?"
Galileo: "Yeah."
(I want to choose the very best-looking grapes from this vineyard.)
(The ones that are deep in color, uniform, and plump.)
As I walked, carefully examining each bunch of grapes一
Galileo: "Mitsuki."
He suddenly called my name and pulled me close, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.

You twirl your pasta around your fork as you glance across the candlelit table to Marcus on the other side, your heart warming as his gaze settles on you and a smile pulls at his lips. He’s brought you to your favorite restaurant for your birthday. Or rather, your birthday weekend, as he called it. Today was Friday and your birthday wasn’t technically until tomorrow but Marcus did always like to make a fuss.
Soft jazz music plays in the background while an opened bottle of champagne sits in an ice bucket next to your table, both of you already on your second glass.
“How’s your carbonara?” He asks, nodding his head in the direction of your plate.
“To die for” you roll your eyes dramatically before taking another bite. He smiles again before digging back into his steak and you both settle back into a comfortable silence as you continue to enjoy your dinner. He has yet to tell you what his plans are for the rest of the evening, despite you desperately begging to get it out of him. He wants it to be a surprise, as usual.
You chat in hushed voices as you near the end of your meals, Marcus holding your hand in his as you tell him again how much you love him and how lucky you are that he’s yours. Your brow raises slightly in surprise when he orders another round of drinks and as the server disappears he’s quick to let you know not to worry, that he’s not driving tonight and has already made other arrangements. Of course he has. Marcus had always been meticulous in planning your birthdays.
With half a bottle of champagne already under your belts each, your next drink - your favourite wine - goes down just as easily as Marcus’ Old Fashioned does. You’re not drunk, but you’re certainly feeling good and playful enough that you stretch your right leg out under the table and gently run your foot up Marcus’ calf.
“Ready to get out of here?” He smirks at you from across the table, quickly throwing back the last swallow of amber liquid in his glass. You bite your lip and nod your head. You don’t know where you’re off to next, but at the very least maybe you can make out a little in the back of the cab.
Marcus gets your server’s attention and within minutes the bill is paid and he’s guiding you out of the restaurant, his palm a warming presence on the small of your back.
You step out into the cool night air and your eyes nearly bug out of your head when you see what’s waiting for you. A black sleek, stretched Lincoln Town Car is idling at the curb with a well dressed driver standing dutifully at the back passenger door, white gloved hands folded in front of him as he tips his head to you both in greeting.
“Mr. and Mrs. Pike,” he greets as he moves slightly from the door and pulls it open, gesturing you inside with a sweep of his arm towards the open door.
“What have you done?” You giggle, looking back at your husband who just shrugs his shoulders. “I thought you meant a cab”
“Only the best for my baby on her birthday” he smiles and ushers you towards the car, gently pushing on the small of your back and you let him guide you inside before he climbs in after you and the driver gently shuts the door.
You settle into the plush interior and take in your surroundings. There are soft tiny lights all across the ceiling, giving the darkened interior a soft warm glow, small dark red velvet throw pillows on the black leather upholstered seating and another bottle of champagne chills in a bucket of ice in the middle of the floor between the two facing bench seats on either side.
The driver gets into his seat, you can see through the open car and he gives you a small nod and a smile through his rearview mirror before he clicks a button and the partition in front of you begins to raise, sealing you and Marcus away to yourselves.
“More champagne?” Marcus asks as you snuggle closer into his side.
“No” you breathe out before you’re on him, the car having barely just pulled away from the curb. Your hands on either side of his face and one leg slots in between his as you push yourself up to capture his mouth. His hand goes to your waist immediately, brushing up and down your side as you lick into his mouth and he swallows back a moan.
“How much time do we have?” You ask between desperate kisses, your hands fisting into his dress shirt now and pulling his body towards you until he’s pressing your back into the plush leather behind you.
He lets out a laugh at your eagerness. “Not that much”.
You begin to pout but it’s short lived when you feel his hand go under your dress, warm palm inching up your thigh.
“Marcus” you whimper against his lips when his fingertips ghost over your panties. You’re already wet and you know he can feel it by how he smirks against your lips.
“I’ve got you honey” he promises and then gently pulls the front of your underwear aside and presses his fingers against you.
You let out a little whine and then press your mouth to his again, letting him swallow all your little moans while his fingers make delicate work of pulling you apart. He lets them glide through your slick folds and presses one digit inside of you to gather more of your arousal before he spreads it around your lips and up to circle at your clit and your hips cant off the seat, pressing into his hand.
“Oh my god,” you whimper, mouth pulling off of him so your head can fall back against the seat. “Feels so good” you tell him, hand coming up to wrap around the back of his head as he buries his face in your throat and begins to lick and suck at your pulse point.
His fingers relent from teasing at your clit and slide lower until he’s pushing two into you and curling them just as he reaches that spongy spot deep inside that causes a low moan to spill from your lips. Within minutes he already has you on the edge and the firm press of his palm to your throbbing little bundle of nerves while his fingers crook back and forth inside you is enough to tip you over. You lurch forward and let out a strangled sob as you cum around his fingers, your hands desperately clutching and clawing at his shoulders as wave after wave of your orgasm washes over you. You feel him chuckle into your throat as his fingers slow to long, languid thrusts inside of you before he finally pulls them out and teases them around your folds and clit and your body gently jerks at how sensitive you are.
“All better?” he asks, smirking into the side of your throat before he rights your underwear again and his hand goes back to gently smoothing up and down your thigh.
“Oh my god” you breathe, wrapping your arms around his neck and clinging to him. “Thank you baby” you murmur, pressing a kiss to his hair. The car begins to slowly roll to a stop and you gently push away from each other, Marcus fixing your dress back down from where he’d pushed it up your hips before his hand goes to his own crotch and he slightly adjusts himself in the now tight fabric of his pants. You don’t know how far you drove but the ride seemed to be over far too quickly for your liking. You desperately wanted to take Marcus in your mouth while you kneeled before him on the carpeted floor of the limo, making sure he knew how much you appreciated everything he does for you but it seems the driver and, presumably, Marcus’ predetermined destination, had other plans for you.
Marcus notices the little pout on your lips and gently grasps at your chin before pulling you towards him for a quick kiss. “Plenty time for more of that later, baby” he promises.
You hear the driver's door open and close and a moment later there’s a tap against your window and Marcus slides over across the seat to open the door and you follow right behind him.
“Marcus!” You giggle when you step outside and realize where you are, at one of the fanciest - and not to mention most expensive - hotels in the city. You didn’t know what he had in store for tonight but now that you’re here you’re very glad he’s whisked you away to a hotel room so you can get right back to where you left off in the limo.
“I did good?” He asks, looking at you with a grin and you quickly nod your head.
“You did very good baby” you smile, wrapping your arms around his neck and giving him a quick kiss.
“Your bag sir” the Driver is suddenly at your side again, handing Marcus an overnight bag that you realize he must have gotten out of the trunk and you give Marcus a curious look. Clearly he had this all mapped out and had even packed you both some essentials and given it to the Driver in advance.
Marcus thanks the driver and holds his free arm out to you which you happily accept, thanking the driver yourself and wishing him a goodnight as Marcus whisks you away into the hotel. You don’t even stop at the concierge, Marcus letting you know he’s already taken care of checking in and has the keycard in his pocket. You don’t even know when he’d had time to do all this. As far as you knew he came straight home from work and quickly showered and changed and you were out the door for dinner. Your husband never failed to surprise you.
You clutch a little tighter to his arm as the elevator carries you to one of the highest floors and an excited energy thrums through your veins. You can’t wait to get him inside and show him just how grateful you are for not only tonight, but everything this man does for you.
He slides the keycard at the electronic pass at the door once the elevator has deposited you on your floor and your breath catches in your throat the moment he swings the door open. It’s just the front entry to what is apparently a multi-room suite but it’s already beautiful. The lights are dimmed and there are red rose petals on the floor leading down a narrow hallway on your right that turns off to another section of the room that you aren’t able to see yet beyond the walls. Immediately on your left is a simple bathroom complete with a large glass walk-in shower.
“C’mon” he laughs at your little gasp. “You haven’t even seen the best part yet”
He takes your hand and leads you inside, following the path of the rose petals and you turn into the next area. It’s a living room area furnished with an already lit fireplace, a couch, armchair and coffee table, as well as a small desk. On a far wall there are two sets of double french doors, one of which is opened to showcase an enormous built-in jacuzzi tub, the second set of doors still firmly closed.
“Oh my god that bathtub” you sigh. You’ve always wanted one like it at home. “Is that the best part?” You ask your husband who simply smirks but shakes his head.
“Not even close” he laughs and nods his head for you to follow his line of sight back to the rose petals still trailing across the floor that lead to the second set of closed doors.
“Oooh, and what’s behind door number two?” You ask giddily like you’re on some game show and Marcus simply shrugs, feigning ignorance.
“Go find out”
You don’t need to be told twice, your excitement barely containable, not having any idea what else he could possibly surprise you with tonight. But when you reach the doors and swing them open, he’s done it. Your husband has absolutely outdone himself yet again and given you the biggest surprise yet. You practically shriek when you see ‘your surprise’ standing there, dressed smartly in a sharp black suit with the jacket buttons open and crisp white collared shirt but no tie, holding a single long stemmed red rose in front of him.
It’s Dave.
“Oh my god!” You gasp before your feet take off, you’re practically sprinting across the room towards him and leap into his arms. He catches you easily as your legs wrap around his waist and your arms around his neck and hug him tightly.
“Happy birthday baby” he murmurs into your hair as he holds you firmly to his body and after a good long moment you finally pull back enough to press a kiss to his waiting lips.
“I can’t believe you’re here” you whisper against his mouth before capturing his lips again with your own. Not allowing the kiss to get too heated, yet, you gently extract yourself from him and he helps you back down to your feet where you run back over to Marcus and throw your arms around him next.
“You did this for me?” You whisper into his neck, unable to help the couple of tears that slip out as you hug him tighter and his arms come up to wrap around your back. Of all the possibilities that ran through your head for this evening, this one never crossed your mind and you’re so happy you literally have tears in your eyes.
“Have I ever let you down on your birthday honey?” he chuckles and that gets a little laugh out of you as well, sniffling back your tears before you pull away from him and place both hands on his face, your teary eyed gaze locked on his.
“I love you Marcus” you tell him before you surge forward and let your lips and tongue express the rest of your emotions as they collide with his. He moans into the kiss, his hands smoothing down your back to rest on your ass while yours slide up to push the jacket from his shoulders, neither of you caring that it lands in a crumpled heap on the floor at your feet and the moment his arms are free again his hands are back where they started. You're lost in the kiss for long moments until you feel another set of hands suddenly at your waist and a hot, wet mouth at the side of your throat.
“Ohhhh,” you let out a little whimper, breaking away from Marcus’ mouth as your head lolls back to rest on Dave’s shoulder where he stands behind you, his lips still sealed to your throat. Marcus leans back in, kissing and nipping at the side of your face, down your jaw and the opposite side of your neck from Dave and you let out another moan. You’ve never been sandwiched between the two of them like this before and it’s driving you insane, despite the fact that they’re barely doing anything other than kissing you. You’re not sure how you’re supposed to survive the rest of the night if it keeps going anything like this.
Your husband's large palms grope and grab at your ass while Dave’s slide up to your tits, gently kneading and palming them in his grasp and your whole body tingles with anticipation and an unprecedented excitement while the two of them focus all of their attention on worshiping your body.
“Mmmm, should we get you more comfortable baby?” Dave eventually hums into your throat, his hands leaving your breasts and fingertips now teasing up and down your sides and you can do little but nod your head. Neither of their mouths let up, but Dave’s hands do come around to your back where he gently tugs on the zipper of your dress, sliding it all the way down and only when you go to step out of it do both men finally release you and take a slight step back. The fabric pools at your feet forgotten, leaving you in only your bra and panties and Marcus smiles at you before taking your hand and leading you over to the bed.
You hadn’t noticed everything else when you first opened the doors, all coherent thought leaving your brain the moment you saw Dave standing in the middle of the room, but you see it now. There are dozens of tiny lit candles everywhere and more rose petals laid out in the shape of a heart on the King sized bed.
Everything is perfect. Truly perfect, now that you had Dave here to share it with both of you.
“On the bed honey” Marcus gestures towards the headboard with a nod of his head and you quickly clamber up onto the mattress to the middle of the bed and rest your back against the pillows at the headboard. Marcus kneels onto the bed and crawls up after you while Dave rounds to the other side and then does the same until you’re flanked by both of them as they lie on their sides next to you and both immediately bring their mouths to your throat again. They’re kissing, licking and sucking their way across and down your neck as they both bring a hand up and squeeze a breast and your back arches, pressing yourself further into their touch as they both devour you with their mouths. Daves free hand reaches behind you, unclasping your bra so they can both hastily tug either side’s strap down until you’re free from its confines and it’s tossed carelessly aside before their hands resume their earlier task; squeezing, kneading and teasing your tits with their large hands and expert fingers. They’re slowly driving you mad with their equal attentiveness and you can do little about it other than lie back and enjoy everything they give you, your hands wrapping around either of their heads and pushing through their hair as they continue to assault your throat with hungry kisses. You’re certain you’re going to be marked up to all hell come tomorrow morning but you don’t care. You’ll wear a turtleneck to work next week and try not to blush any time a coworker questions your choice of wardrobe given the time of year. Or hell, maybe you’ll show them off as badges of honour and let them gossip all they want.
It’s Marcus’ hand that eventually retreats from your chest first, leaving your breast to trail down your stomach and going between your legs to palm your sex overtop of your underwear and you can’t help but lift your hips to grind into his hand. Your panties are already soaked from your little makeout session in the limo and every brush of Marcus’ deft fingers over your lips has you aching to feel more of him, wishing he’d take them off of you.
“Oh fuck” you whine when Dave’s hand suddenly leaves your chest and is overtop of Marcus’ pressing it further into your clothed cunt. You try to lift your head a little higher so you can see their hands moving together against you but their mouths still have you basically pinned down against the headboard.
“Fucking soaked baby” Dave chuckles into your throat. “Somebody started without me”
“Couldn’t… Resist” Marcus breathes out in between kisses. “Fuck, look at her”
“Gettin Marcus here all riled up baby?” Dave tuts, his hand leaving your sex to trail upwards and gently pinch and pull at a taut nipple, causing you to bite your lip to keep the whimper of pleasant pain at bay. “Being naughty, hmmm?” he breathes into the side of your face.
“You know what we do to naughty girls, don’t you?” He asks, breath hot against your ear and you quickly shake your head.
“Show me” you breathe out, heart hammering in your chest, and the ‘be careful what you wish for’ is implied in the dark little chuckle Dave lets out at your brazen response.
His hands leave you entirely and he’s up out of the bed and your eyes trail him as he walks over and bends down to grab a small black duffel bag that was sitting next to the armchair in the room. Even Marcus seems to be distracted by Dave, his kisses and movements slowing as he watches him from his peripheral, curious to see what all Dave has in his bag of tricks this evening. He was rarely one to disappoint.
Your breath catches in your throat when you recognize what’s in his hands and he smirks as he saunters back up to you, dangling the restraints from his strong fingers.
“Been dying to do this for ages baby” he confesses and you hear a tiny whimpered ‘oh fuck’ from Marcus when he turns his head fully to see what’s going on. His hard cock twitches against your hip and you’re not sure which one of you is most excited to see you tied up; Dave, yourself, or Marcus.
The mattress dips under his weight as Dave kneels on the bed next to you and begins securing one of the restraints around the nearest bedpost. Once he’s got it looped around he lifts your hand and feeds it through the small opening at the opposite end and then wraps the velcro fastener around your wrist and tests it by giving your arm a small tug.
Satisfied that it's secure he gets up and walks around to the other side, next to Marcus and repeats the same process for your other arm and pats the back of your imprisoned hand once you’re completely subdued. Your heart is hammering in your chest with a nervous excitement and the way both men are staring at you like you are something to be devoured isn’t helping the aching throb between your legs one bit.
“Just missing one final piece” Dave muses before he turns his head towards Marcus and gestures at him with a nod of his head.
“Mind if I borrow this?” He asks, and not giving Marcus a chance to respond, brings his hands to your husbands neck and starts tugging his tie loose until he’s able to slip it over his head. “Much obliged” Dave smirks before his attention turns back towards you and suddenly your vision goes black (literally) as Dave slips the silken material over your head to cover your eyes and pulls the knot tight again.
“You know the traffic light system now, don’t you baby?” He asks, hand coming down to grip at your chin and raising your face to him, despite the fact that he knows you can’t see him, to ensure you hear him and understand. Your heart is racing and your breaths come out shallow but you dutifully nod your head.
“Let me hear it” he insists firmly.
“Green for keep going, yellow to slow down, red means stop” you recite for him and he seems pleased with your answer as he lightly shucks your chin with his knuckle and releases you.
“That’s my good girl,” he praises. “What colour are we now?”
“Green!” You let out maybe a little too enthusiastically and he chuckles.
“That’s good baby, really good” he says, rewarding you by leaning down and placing a soft kiss to your lips. “You cum for us enough times and we’ll let you loose, how’s that sound?”
“Mmmhmm” you quickly nod, not quite trusting your voice and that earns a little chuckle from Dave.
You hear the distinct snap of fingers and can only assume that’s Dave, gesturing something to Marcus and your hips wiggle slightly, your body still desperate for attention and waiting for what will come next. There’s a pair of hands at your waist, gently tugging at your panties and you lift your hips, eager to help get them off.
“Oh wait, almost forgot” Dave says suddenly and you truly don’t know what’s left that he could have in store for you at this point, already having you completely naked, chained to the bed and blindfolded. The mattress moves slightly as he moves off of it again and you wait for several agonizing seconds until it dips under his weight again and you feel the fabric of his shirt brush against your side. “The final, final piece” he amends from earlier as you feel soft foam pads rest against your ears before music immediately starts pouring in from them.
Noise canceling headphones. Of course. Dave is apparently adamant on depriving you of most of your senses this evening it would seem.
“Still green baby?” He asks, lifting one ear off momentarily for you to hear him and you nod your head.
“Still green” you affirm, knowing he needs to hear the words. He begins to re affix the headphones on your head when you suddenly blurt out “wait!”
Dave says nothing, but also doesn’t put the headphone back down on your ear so he’s apparently waiting for whatever you’re going to say.
“Do I get to make a request?” You ask bravely and you hear a little huff of laughter from Dave, but then a soft reassuring hand lands on your thigh (Marcus, you presume).
“From where I’m standing you don’t look like you’re in any position to be making requests sweetheart, but go ahead, give your request and maybe I’ll consider it”
“I want you both naked” you breathe out, wishing you could see whether or not Dave was humouring your request whatsoever as the room stays silent for several seconds.
“You can’t even see us” Dave laughs at you and you don’t need to see him to know he’s shaking his head.
“But I can… feel you” you reason, albeit weakly. “I like to feel all of you. Both of you”
You hear Dave’s sigh and your hopes are just a little up.
“What do you think, Pike?” He asks of your husband who’s hand at your thigh now gives a comforting squeeze.
“It is her birthday” he argues and a smile pulls at your lips.
Dave doesn’t verbally agree but you hear him grunt as he begins shucking off clothing and when the hand leaves your thigh you know Marcus has begun his own task of ridding himself of his suit and dress shirt. You hear articles of clothing being tossed around to different parts of the room, the metal clang of two separate belt buckles and four thuds from shoes hitting the carpeted floor next to you and you grin appreciatively at their acquiescence.
“Much better” you sigh, even though you can’t see them or even currently feel them as neither of them are touching you.
“Yeah, yeah. Don’t get used to calling any more of the shots around here” Dave tuts and a gasp leaves your lips when you feel a sudden sharp little tug at one of your nipples. “I don’t wanna hear ‘it’s my birthday Dave’ every two seconds when you want something” he says mockingly. “Only thing we wanna hear you begging for are our cocks, you understand?”
“Yes sir” you say, a teasing lilt to your tone.
The headphone closes around your ear again and you’re submerged in the sound of some heavy rock music. You’re not sure if Dave picked it or if it’s just on some random playlist station from his phone because he wanted to drown you in the loudest music possible, but you don’t care enough to ask, you just need them back on task.
Their task being, of course, you.
Thankfully you don’t wait long. Moments later there’s a mouth devouring each of your nipples at the same time and Dave is even sporting a bit of a five o’clock shadow this evening so it’s almost imperceptible to tell who is who at this point without your vision to rely on. It somehow turns you on even more, if that were possible.
A tiny whimpered ‘fuck’ leaves your lips when you feel fingers between your legs. Far too many fingers to belong to one hand. There’s one set playing with your clit while another prods their digits at your entrance which your cunt greedily sucks in with how wet and ready you are. A third hand is suddenly at your throat, lightly grasping around it while you’re being fucked and teased by their fingers below and you feel your first orgasm coming along like a freight train. You’re not only overstimulated, but with so many of your senses deprived from you it has the remaining ones so heightened that it feels like you’re experiencing every touch ten-fold.
“Oh God, oh fuck, fuck, fuck,” you cry out as your orgasm fastly approaches. The hand at your throat tightens and the three fingers currently plunging into you speed up as both mouths continue to suck and nip and lick at your breasts. Within seconds your back and hips arch upwards and you cum, long and hard with a strangled moan as the hand at your throat finally releases and allows you to quickly gulp down some air. The fingers between your legs thankfully slow but don’t leave you entirely. The ones inside you continue fucking into you with a torturously slow pace while the the ones at your clit draw gentle circles, easing you down from your high.
“That’s one” you hear Dave suddenly at your ear as the hand that was presumably around your throat moves to shove one side of the headphones off the side of your head. “What do you want off first baby?” He asks and it’s suddenly the hardest question you’ve ever faced in your lifetime. Part of you wants to be able to hear them, but then you think about how desperately you need to touch and feel any part of them.
“A hand!” You blurt out suddenly. By your count you only need 3 more orgasms to be completely free and at the rate you’re going, you doubt it will take long.
“Greedy” Dave chuckles but pops the earphone back against your head and gets to work untying your right hand. You grin enthusiastically the moment your hand is free and reach out blindly for one of them. Either of them. But instead you feel the mattress move slightly under you and your hand doesn’t reach anyone and you think they’ve both gotten up, maybe to move places. A moment later the bed dips again and you feel your legs being spread wider apart and shoulders brush the insides of your thighs as they settle between them and a smile graces your lips as someone’s hand captures yours that’s still extended outwards. You feel the mattress move again directly beside you on your right and the hand holding yours pulls it a little closer to them until you feel it. Your small hand instinctively wraps around the warm, hard cock and your grin widens as you give it a few practiced strokes.
“Oh fuck” you whimper when two fingers part your lower lips and a skilled tongue flicks against your still sensitive and swollen clit. You’re not given a chance to utter any further praise for the wet muscle inflicting torturous pleasure however because a strong hand suddenly grips at your cheeks, forcing your mouth open and the cock that your hand was wrapped around is suddenly shoved unceremoniously to the back of your throat. If you had to guess, it was Dave in your mouth and Marcus between your legs. The duality between your two lovers was easily perceptible, even without the use of half of your senses. Dave fucked into your throat the way he always did, with purpose and force. He knew what you could take and always pushed you to your limits but never overstepped them. A hand grips your hair to hold it away from your face as more of the hard length is shoved to the back of your throat and you’re held in position until you start to sputter and gag and he releases you, only momentarily, just to begin fucking back into your mouth again as drool dribbles down your chin. Dave likes it messy and sloppy, and if you had your hearing right now you’re certain you would be listening to him tell you how well you take him and what a good little slut you are for his cock.
You think you’ll ask for the headphones off next…
Thank god that Dave (presumably) was doing most of the work for you with your mouth because the tongue between your legs was driving you so crazy that you couldn’t possibly concentrate on anything else, only the feeling of the geyser that is your arousal about to erupt.
“Oh my god, fuck fuck fuck!” You cry out, managing to rip your mouth off of the cock in your throat as three fingers are shoved inside your needy cunt and the tongue continues its assault until you’re coming, long and hard and with a muffled cry as the dick is forced back inside your mouth to quiet your screams.
The tongue lazily swirls your clit and laps at your folds while fingers gently fuck you through the aftershocks of your orgasm and your free hand is hastily grabbing for the cock in your mouth, wrapping around it and pumping it while your tongue greedily licks away at the precum oozing from the tip, anything to distract you as your legs and thighs tremble with the attention your cunt is receiving.
Finally the mouth and fingers leave you and regretfully the cock slips from the wet heat of your mouth and you’re left for a moment to catch your breath. There’s a lot of shuffling around again as both bodies pull away and then the headphone is shoved away from your ear again.
“Such a good girl” Dave’s warm voice floods your senses immediately as he places a kiss just behind your ear. “That’s two”
To be honest, you lose count after two. You’re pretty sure by the end of the night you blacked out from the amount of orgasms both Marcus and Dave had given you with their mouths, hands and cocks. The two of them working in tandem to give your body more pleasure than you’ve literally ever experienced in your lifetime was enough to have you passed out before you even managed to mutter a ‘good night’ or a ‘thank you’ to either of them. Even both men had managed to orgasm, rally, and then orgasm a second time before all three of you passed out in a messy pile of sweaty limbs just a couple of hours before the sun was set to rise.
A content, happy little sigh escapes you as you fall asleep for the first time with both Marcus and Dave at your sides, each with a hand draped possessively over you as they too succumb to the sleep desperately calling them.
Despite all the mind-blowing orgasms that turned your brain into a pile of complete mush unable to compose even a single further coherent thought, there was one thing you were sure of. This was the best birthday you’ve ever had.
And as you faintly recall Marcus telling you earlier, “Baby, we’re just getting started”

With your steady hand
Of Oak and Ivy, Chapter 3
Series Masterlist Next Chapter
pairing: Matt Murdock x fem!reader
summary: Matt and Foggy go head to head in a prank war, much to your dismay.
warnings: Swearing, fluff, descriptions of homesickness
a/n: Did I mean to make everyone cry in this chapter? No. But here we are. (Honestly, from what I can remember, crying was a popular pastime my first semester of college.) We get a little Foggy vulnerability as a side dish for the Matt and Reader vulnerability. I had a great time with this chapter so I hope everyone enjoys!
w/c: 5.6k
Worrying your bottom lip between your teeth, you pushed the food around your plate indifferently. Your stomach balked at the idea of eating, but you were aware that you needed to. The only thing you’d eaten in the past 48 hours was dry cereal, and that had to be bad, right?
“You ok?” The quiet, concerned voice of Matt from beside you made you jump. In your groggy haze, you’d completely forgotten he was next to you, and, honestly, that you were out in public at all.
“Yup. Fine. Just not hungry.” Was the bland response you gave. It didn’t appease either of your friends, both of them frowning with worry. You’d been acting…off for over a week now. The cheerful, silly personality that Matt had unwittingly fallen for retreating into a worn out husk of a law student. Though he couldn’t see, Matt would bet dollars to donuts that the bags under your eyes were prominent given how sluggish you’d been recently. Not to mention that you hadn’t spoken up in any class the past few days, which was extremely out of character.
Though Matt was too afraid to admit that he could tell, he knew your blood sugar was extremely low right now. Oddly enough, you weren’t lying when you said you weren’t hungry.
“Are you sure you’re feeling ok?” Foggy prompted, seemingly following the same train of thought that Matt was currently on. “You didn’t eat much. Did you catch that flu that’s been going around?”
You shook your head, giving a thin smile. “Nah, just not hungry. I’m ok, guys, promise.”
But neither guy was convinced by your lackluster argument. After studying quietly in their room, and neglecting a plate of takeout, you muttered something about having chores to do and headed home—much to the dismay of your friends.
“Ok, what the hell is up with her?” Foggy scoffed, feigning annoyance despite the obvious worry in his tone.
“I wish I knew.” Matt affirmed, falling backwards on his bed and throwing his arms over his face.
“She said she wasn’t sick. Did something happen?” Foggy questioned.
“She might be stressed, midterms will do crazy things to people.”
“Yah, but when she gets stressed about school she is usually all…ramble-y and stuff. Not like this. It’s like she’s not even here.” The air in the room swished as Foggy gestured wildly, his passionate concern aggravating his already violent hand movements.
“I know, Fog.”
“You should try talking to her. She’s more likely to tell you.” Foggy accused, rolling his eyes.
Matt just snorted in disbelief.
“You laugh, but we both know it’s true. You have a ‘special connection.’” The blond’s voice swayed on the last two words, as if he were a middle schooler pointing out Matt’s crush.
“Bullshit.” Matt snarked.
“You wound me, Murdock. You think the heart eyes you two are always making at each other can escape my powers of observation?” What?
“How on earth does a blind man make ‘heart eyes’ at someone?” Matt chuckled, trying to cover up the way his chest was pounding at the thought of his feelings for you being returned.
“Uh, you tell me, dude! It’s goddamn unbearable. Not only are 90% of the women on this campus ogling you at all times, but you’re too infatuated with our mutual friend to even notice, and you refuse to date her. How am I even supposed to flap my wingman wings?!”
“I told you, Foggy, she deserves better than I can treat her.” Matt groaned at his roommate’s insistence.
“Yah, yah, lie to me all you want, Murdock, I’m taking notes for my best man speech at your wedding.” Foggy shook his finger at Matt who smirked. “Seriously, though. If anyone is going to get to the bottom of whatever’s going on with her, it’s you.”
“Hmm, I know she works tonight, I’ll see if she’ll talk to me about it during her shift.” Matt plotted aloud.
“Keep me updated, man. I worry about that little jitterbug. She’s too sweet for this cruel world.” Foggy sighed, running a hand through his long hair.
“Unfortunately, I think you’re right about that.”
Breathing shakily, you ripped the elastic out of your hair and began massaging your temples, to no avail. The pounding ache that had settled over your skull remained, increasing the likelihood that you’d burst into tears from ‘pretty likely’ to ‘it’s a miracle the breakdown hasn’t started yet’. Feeling a lump build in your esophagus, you turned to Jen, who was working at the bookstore with you as you slowly fell apart.
“You ok, babes?” Your roommate prompted, attentive gaze not missing your glassy eyes and choked inhales.
Not trusting your voice, you shook your head, looking at her pleadingly as your lip quivered.
“Aw, love!” Jen pulled you into a hug, siphoning tears from your eyes almost immediately. “What’s wrong? Still missing your mom?”
“Mmm hmm.” You choked out around a sob. Squeezing you tightly, she hummed in understanding.
“Why don’t you go sit in the back for a little bit? I’ll be fine holding down the fort.”
“Are you sure?”
“Positive, babes. Go watch a movie or something. I’ll yell if I need ya.”
Nodding dolefully, you rubbed at your damp eyes and padded to the closet-sized employee break room in the corner of the bookshop.
Twisting his cane in his sweaty hands, Matt blew out a breath before entering the quiet store. His walk over from campus had been tumultuous despite the short distance. It had quickly occurred to him that cornering you at work might not be the best plan of action, unless alienating you whilst ruining the beautiful trust you currently held for him was the goal.
Against his better judgment, he shoved open the door, trying not to wince as the bell chimed to signal his arrival. Hesitating for a moment, Matt realized it wasn't you at the counter, but your roommate.
“Hi Matt!” Jen greeted him. “Nice to see you again.”
“You too, Jen,” Matt smiled, though the knot of nervousness in his stomach was expanding after hearing your soft cries coming from the break room. “Is, uh, is she working tonight?”
The older girl hummed knowingly, “Yah, she's in the back.” Matt thanked her but she called after him before he could find you. “Just, be gentle with her, ok? She's having a tough week.”
Nodding in understanding, Matt gave what he hoped was a comforting 'I promise not to spook our mutual friend' thumbs up, setting off to keep you company.
Knocking on the open door lightly, Matt heard you sniffle and scrub at your face in an attempt to look put together before responding. “I'll be right out, Jen—”
“Not Jen.” He answered simply. “Just a friend who thought you might want some company.”
Your muffled footsteps wandered towards him, pulling the door ajar when you reached it.
Matt's confidence stumbled, your salty tears and wavering breaths immediately setting him on edge. “Tell me to fuck off and I'll leave. I just thought—” His words were interrupted by a grunt of surprise as you fell solidly against him, arms winding around his waist.
“Hey,” His hands slid up to anchor you, one sprawled over your shoulders while the other stroked your hair to offer succor when you began to tremble with renewed sobs. “Hey, you're alright, I gotcha. I gotcha.”
Wiping your face with one hand, you stood up, removing your arms from around him. “I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cry all over your shirt. Shit, I'm so sorry, Matty.”
“Don't worry about that, sweetheart.” Matt's hand drifted to your clammy cheek, swiping a stray tear away when it fell. “That's why I'm here. You…” He paused, choosing his next words carefully. “You seemed like midterms were weighing on you, and I thought you could use some extra support. Let's go sit, yah?” Tenderly taking your hand, he let you guide him to the musty couch, closing the door behind you.
As Matt collapsed into the ancient cushions, he could feel the plumes of dust rising from the impact. Scrunching his nose against the resulting tickle, he eagerly enveloped you in his arms, pressing a kiss to your head when you settled against his chest. “Did you want to talk about what's going on? You had Foggy and I quite worried when you ran out on us this afternoon.”
Exhaling shakily, you unconsciously arched into his touch, his hands rubbing slow circles into your lower back. “I don't know, Matty. I...it's a long story, I'm sure you don't want–”
Feeling you tense up beneath him, Matt could practically hear your thoughts as you distanced him from the root of your vulnerability. “Don’t shut me out, sweetheart, please. Anything you want to share I will gladly listen to.”
“It’s stupid. You’re going to think I’m a baby.” You murmured, tracing the buttons on his shirt.
“I would never, bubs, you know that. You’re the strongest girl I know, that’s why I’m so worried about you.”
“You don’t have to worry about me, Matty.”
“Well, tell me what’s up with you and maybe I’ll stop.” He smirked at you and you groaned, though your lips twitched marginally.
You muttered something under your breath and, though he could hear you just fine, he scrunched his brow dramatically. “You’re going to need to speak up, dear, I didn’t catch that.” He cupped a hand around one ear, grinning when you rolled your eyes and shoved him.
“I said…I really miss my mom.” You admitted feebly.
“Aw, sweetheart, that’s not stupid at all!” Matt’s expressive face pinched in sympathy as he waited for you to continue.
“I’ve been talking to her over the phone pretty frequently but it’s not the same. She’s all I had growing up, I’m not used to her not being…here. God, that’s so childish!”
“No, it’s not. I may not be homesick for the orphanage, but I haven’t had the easiest time adjusting either.”
“Really?”
“Yah, bubs, really. There are things about this new freedom that I enjoy, of course, but I do miss the familiarity of my old routine. It’s not childish, I promise.” Running his hands over your arms, he smirked. “You know what is childish?”
“What?”
Bending at the waist, Matt drew his cane from the floor and turned it to display the two plastic circles that had been haphazardly slapped on the black foam handle. Taking the cane from him, you traced a finger over the new decorations and giggled.
“What the fuck?” Disbelief and humor slowly halting your tears, you looked eagerly to Matt for an explanation. Two standard googly eyes, placed at a lopsided angle, wiggled at you as you passed him back the item in question.
“My thoughts exactly.” Matt chuckled. “Foggy bought a bag of googly eyes at the dollar store and has been sticking them to everything in our room. I had to pull a pair off of my glasses before coming over here.”
“You should’ve left them on. Let everyone know what a serious law student you are.” You snickered, snuggling against Matt’s chest again. “Why, exactly, did he choose to do this?”
Matt chuckled, “I think it was his idea of a prank. Pretty minor offense, though. He’s told me horror stories about the things he and his brother used to do.” Shuddering, he bit his lip to keep from purring as you began rubbing his back. “It’s kind of…sweet though? I think it’s his way of showing me I’m like family.”
His throat clenched as he spoke that realization. You smiled, squeezing him tightly. “That is sweet, Matty. I hope you realize how much we care for you.”
“We?” The dark haired boy can barely contain his tease as he gave you the most innocent glance he can muster.
“Shut up, trouble. You know I care about you. Even if I’m not putting googly eyes on all your stuff. To be fair, though, I don’t think I’ve ever pranked anyone.”
“Really?” Chuckling incredulously, Matt was surprised that you’d never played a practical joke, given your adorable goofiness and slight pettiness.
“Not that I can recall. Is that weird?” Your mind was quick to plummet back into anxiety, worrying that Matt would be alarmed by your lack of a normal childhood.
“Of course not, bubs. It just seems like something you’d find funny, is all.”
“Aren’t they…mean?” The hesitation in your voice didn’t surprise him, his heart suddenly swelling with an intense desire to shelter you from anything harmful.
“Sometimes, but not the ones I’m planning.” He assured you.
“What did you have planned?”
“Well…” Matt eagerly divulged his schemes, egged on by your renewed giggles and steady heart. If pranking Foggy would make you happy, he’d gladly involve you in it.
A few days later, you were practically glowing with excitement as you “studied” beside Matt. Echoing footsteps in the hallway outside the door sparked a gasp and you spun towards Matt eagerly.
“Is that him? Is he here?” You nearly squealed.
Chuckling at your darling, albeit very caffeinated, display of giddiness about a terrible prank, Matt shushed you. “That’s not him, sweetheart, but you have to keep your game face on.”
Raising your arm in a mock salute, you jested. “Sir, yes sir.”
Dutifully returning to the book on your lap, you took a few inadequate notes on the chapter before the door unlatched, Matt threw you a grin. “Act natural.”
Foggy traipsed into the room, immediately picking up on the unusual vibes in the air.
“Hey…” Looking between you and Matt skeptically, he dropped his book bag to the floor unceremoniously before crossing his arms over his chest. “Didn’t know we had a study group meeting today.”
“Oh we don’t, I was just bored so I called Matt to see if the two of you wanted to hang out.” You shrugged nonchalantly, turning a page in your Civil Procedure book.
Matt was absolutely floored when the lie slipped between your sweet lips with sincerity. Given all the energy you’d exhibited before, he’d assumed you’d reveal the prank far too early. Trying not to look at you with the surprise that overtook his mind, he added, “I told her that I was studying for CivPro and invited her over. Is that a problem?”
Foggy narrowed his eyes at the pair of you, clearly not convinced something fishy wasn’t afoot. But his disbelief didn’t save him. Vaulting himself onto his semi-lofted bed, an inglorious noise shattered the tense silence in the room.
As you burst into a fit of uncontrollable giggles, Matt was forced to continue to prank on his own. “Oh my god, Foggy, we have company.”
Turning beet red, the blond spluttered in response, “That wasn’t—I mean, I…SHUT UP!” Ripping back the covers, Foggy found the culprit instantly and hurled it towards Matt.
With a smug grin, Matt tilted his head towards the scrap of thin rubber. “What is this, Fog?”
“You know damn well what it is, you ass!” Foggy scowled, hopping off his mattress to point at Matt accusingly. “A Whoopie Cushion?? What are we, five??”
Still in stitches, you were leaning against Matt who was holding you up with a single arm. Foggy was unamused. “You know, I expect this childishness from Murdock, but you?” The long-haired law student bit out your last name as if he were a teacher scolding you for distracting the other students. “I expected better of you. Fuck this, I’m leaving.”
That broke you out of your state of humor. Launching yourself off of Matt’s bed, you stumbled towards your sulking friend with less grace than intended. Your over caffeination and extended time sitting had quickly drained the blood from your head. “Foggy, wait—Woah…” You swayed on your feet. Thankfully, Foggy caught you before you could hit the carpeted cement with your entire body weight.
“Christ, jitterbug, you don’t have to pass out on me to keep me here.” He sighed, handing you gratefully back to Matt who pulled you into a seated position at his side once again.
“Sorry,” You apologized sheepishly, “Got light headed. But please don’t leave! Matt was just teaching me how to prank someone.”
“She’d never pranked anyone before.” Matt explained further.
“Never?” Foggy whistled. “Fuck. Guess you’re forgiven then. Murdock, you’re still on my shit list.”
“For a Whoopie cushion? I’m sorry, are you not the roommate who covered a blind man’s stuff in googly eyes?”
“Et tu, brute!” Laying a hand across his chest in mock offense, Foggy’s eyes glimmered as he continued to play up his innocence. “I’ve already told you. That was our mischievous ghost roommate, Steve.”
“Ah, right. Then I guess we can blame him for the Whoopie cushion too.” Matt raised an eyebrow, silently challenging his roommate.
The blond mirrored him, accepting the challenge with an even tone. “I guess we can.”
Looking between the two of them, you felt a lick of apprehension roll up your spine. This was far from the end, that much was clear.
Dashing up the musty staircase, Matt fumbled with his keys. Slamming open the door, he ran his hands along the spines of books beside his bed, snatching the correct one. The book was tossed haphazardly onto the bed as Matt stripped out of his rain-drenched shirt.
Last night had quickly gotten away from him. Originally planning to stay up late and study for his final midterm, he’d parked himself in the library with a thermos of coffee and his American History textbook. Given your tendency to unwittingly distract him, and his roommate’s constant foghorn-like snoring, alone in the library was the most appealing option if he wanted to pass this exam. However, his sex drive was not as devoted to his academic success. A bubbly girl from his history class had greeted him, offering to help him cram for the looming test. He’d gratefully accepted, but they’d only made it through a single chapter before she’d invited him back to her room.
Exhausted from his strenuous activities and the resulting lack of sleep, he’d inevitably overslept. His internal clock was apparently not as effective as the blaring alarm that he normally used. Sprinting home through the deluge of rain, he had mere minutes to change and get to Legal Methods.
So here he was, relinquishing his soaked through button up to the floor as he plucked the first shirt from his dresser. Flinging on the shirt–which had short sleeves for some reason–and his raincoat, he flew out the door and towards his class.
He was barely late, but you still looked at him smugly when he finally plopped down beside you, eliciting a few laughs from other students in the classroom.
“About time you showed up, trouble. How was your night?” You murmured, trying not to draw any more attention to the two of you.
He didn’t need sight to know you were dramatically wiggling your eyebrows at him. “You heard about that, huh?” He asked, blushing furiously. While he was depressingly still hung up on you, the raw animalistic desires that composed his Id could only be suppressed for so long.
“Oh Foggy spared no detail when we got coffee this morning.”
Trying his damndest not to feel miffed that you’d had coffee with only his roommate, he aimed for a nonchalant tone. “Coffee with Fog, huh?”
“Well, it could have been both of you if you’d answered your phone.” You chuckled softly, shaking your head at the subtle pout on Matt’s face. “Don’t worry, trouble, you’re still my best guy.”
For a moment, all Matt could feel was the stutter of his heart. “Oh–uh, that’s,” He stammered, face glowing with a crimson blush. You giggled at his response.
“So is the raincoat a permanent fixture or did you just forget to take it off?”
Matt rolled his eyes, “Well, someone started talking to me and I got distracted.” Unzipping the vinyl jacket, he began to pry it off when a choking sound from you halted his movements.
“What?” He muttered, with feigned exasperation.
“Is that a new shirt?” You bit your lip to keep from laughing, already speculating just who had purchased that garment. The button down looked nothing like the simple ones Matt usually donned, and he usually dressed more conservatively in longer sleeved garments–there was no way he had purchased this fabric of his own free will.
Unlike the dark sweaters and monochrome shirts that made up the rest of his wardrobe, this shirt was…colorful, to say the least. The pattern was a horrendous combination of flames and hawaiian style flowers. A ring of scarlet cartoon hibiscus blossoms sat atop Matt’s waistline, composing a base for the flames, which looked like they’d been pulled off of a racist’s motorcycle.
Matt ran a hand along the hem, tilting his head in confusion. “This isn’t my shirt, is it?”
Stifling another round of giggles, you shook your head. “I don’t believe so, no.”
“You’re laughing. Fuck, what does it look like?”
“Um, it’s got flowers and…fire on it? Definitely not your style.”
“Shit!” Matt hissed, zipping up his coat as quietly as he could. “Foggy must’ve put it in my dresser.”
You bit back a smile, turning your attention to the professor who had begun looking for students to pick on.
After a few hours of legal jargon flowing in one ear and out the other, Matt could barely sit still—his mind already planning the trip home to inspect the rest of his clothes, which he assumed had also been replaced. Though he’d been willing to beg for your assistance, he’d only needed to ask for you to come with once before you agreed sincerely, clearly pitying him and his ugly shirt.
Sure enough, when they’d returned to his dorm and examined the contents of his dresser, it was filled with clothes that were most certainly not his. The textures were all wrong and you confirmed that they were all garishly patterned.
With a low growl, Matt slammed the drawer of his dresser shut, making you jump.
“Hey, it’s ok, we can just ask Foggy to put your stuff back!” You reasoned, placatingly.
Shaking his head with a snarl, he clenched his fists. “Oh no. This means war.”
You gulped, not finding an ounce of sarcasm in his words. If you were Foggy, you’d be begging for forgiveness about now.
The next couple weeks passed in an agonizing blur of lengthy readings and lonely work shifts. Matt and Foggy had doubled down on their efforts to out-prank each other, and it was beginning to take its toll on their relationship.
As the weather turned chilly and fallen leaves began to carpet the ground, you were finding it difficult to be in the same room with the two of them. After the wardrobe incident, Matt had sulked for two days, refusing to hang out with Foggy until he'd had his revenge. Armed with a box of hot pink hair dye and a few permanent markers, Matt was sure he'd be able to make Foggy look as ridiculous as those shirts made him feel. If your shocked reaction was any measurement, he'd say the effort succeeded.
Of course, Foggy rewarded this behavior with a prank of his own. Finding and removing his formerly pristine school supplies from mounds of loose Jello had been a horrendous sensory experience that Matt NEVER wanted to repeat. That was approximately 4 days ago and Matt was STILL finding dried bits of lime jello in his pen caps.
The two continued to trade practical jokes, currently locked in a battle of removing each other’s furniture. He was still working on his most recent prank at your next study group session. With the help of a floormate, Matt had been able to move Foggy's desk, chair, and mattress to the roof of the dorm. Sweating profusely while he heaved the plastic covered mattress up the last flight of stairs, he didn't hear you approaching.
“Whatcha doin'?“ You asked cautiously, taking in the manic determination on full display.
”Pranking...Foggy.” He managed. Fuck he needed to hit a gym.
“Well, that was a given. Do we think that this is still within the realm of friendly teasing? Or...”
“He can sleep on a bed...when my stuff...stops smelling like it's made of fucking fruit.”
“Hmmm. Ok. I'll be in your room then.” You replied, your words tinged with a disappointment that Matt wasn't anticipating. It irked him, pulling at his stressed consciousness uncomfortably. How come you hadn’t shown the same reaction when Foggy had moved his things across the hall a week ago? Shrugging off the guilt he felt, he mustered up the strength to shove the mattress up to its destination.
Huffing breaths as he shuffled down the stairs to you, he couldn't shake the lingering irritation that your tone had implanted in his psyche. You were sitting on folded legs in his bed, textbook open in your lap.
“Ready to study?” You questioned, not glancing up from the text.
“Depends, am I going to get a lecture?”
“On intentional torts? I'm not an expert, but I can definitely try--” Your innocent tone did nothing to soothe his growing frustration.
“That's not what I meant and we both know that.” He bit out, “If you have a problem with it, you can just say so, I'm not made of glass.”
“There's no problem, Matty.” Your heart stuttered and his anger sparked.
“Bullshit.” He scoffed, pacing in front of you.
“I don't know what's up with you and Fog, that's your business, this just seems...extreme, Matt.”
“He took my clothes, that wasn't 'extreme' to you?”
“I didn't say that! I'm just saying this isn't an effective way to communicate that you weren't comfortable with him touching your stuff.”
Rolling his eyes, Matt yanked the door open. “On second thought, I think I'm good with this chapter of torts. I'll see you in class next week.”
“Matt,” He couldn't bear to focus on you, your rapidly crumpling body language, the lump of emotion in your throat.
“Please. I don't want to lose another friend.” He pleaded.
Sighing in defeat, you closed the book and left without a word.
Matt breathed shallowly, matching his inhales to the pattern of your retreating steps as he cursed himself for turning you away. Setting his jaw, he swiped away a drop of moisture from his cheek and set off for the stairs.
It was hours before Foggy got home, out with a group of students from his Modern Dance class. Walking carefully into the dark room, he flipped on the lights and hunkered down on his bed, stripping off his dirty socks before opening his Property textbook.
“Hey Matt, have you started on the Property essay yet?” He asked the stiff lump of a man who lay in his own bed facing the wall.
“No.” Came the gruff response of his surly roommate.
“Shit, I was hoping you'd have started with our jitterbug so I could mooch some tips off you two geniuses.”
Matt didn't so much as snort in response to the bad joke. Instead, he abruptly rolled over and snatched his cane from its place beside the door.
“I'm going for a walk.” Matt remarked, icily.
“Oh, uh, ok did you want—”
“No.” Shutting the door firmly on his way out, Foggy blinked at his shadow as it disappeared.
“Goodnight to you too, I guess” He scoffed, turning back to his assignment with a roll of his eyes.
Setting your jaw, you blew out a breath and knocked on the door. When you received silence in return, you rolled your eyes and knocked with more vigor. “Matthew, Franklin, I know you’re in there!”
A very apprehensive Foggy appeared as the door slid open. Shoving past him and into the room, you gave a furtive smile. “Hello, how are you, I'm also well, thanks for asking.” You rattled off, collapsing into Matt's creaky desk chair.
Foggy was still hovering nervously by the door, avoiding your stern gaze, while Matt courageously pretended not to notice your presence--fingers running over lines of braille in a thick book. Folding your hands together, you plastered on a sardonic grin. “Now that we've got the pleasantries out of the way, I would like to kindly request that you two get your shit together.”
Your blunt words and brash tone ignited defensiveness in them both. Foggy spluttered and Matt turned to face you with a look of indignation.
“What are you–” “We weren't–”
“Cut the crap.” You interrupted the pair, leaning against the frame of the chair and crossing your arms. “You want to fight with each other? Let a stupid prank war drive our group apart? Fine. But the least you can fucking do is grow some balls and tell me that yourselves. I'm tired of the sulking. So, what'll it be? Are we done?”
Both boys sat sheepishly in their own silence. Foggy kicked his feet as if he were a toddler on a swing, Matt looked like a kicked puppy—crimson blush glowing on his cheeks as he pushed up his glasses.
After several moments of hesitant silence, Matt spoke up. “We aren’t done.”
Nodding in relief, you jerked your chin at Foggy, “Fog, you agree?”
“Course I do! There’s no way I’ll graduate without the two of you. It’s in my best interests to keep you happy.” It was clearly meant to seem like a joke, but the way Foggy’s voice trailed off at the end made you tilt your head.
“Hey, you know that’s not true right? You’re plenty capable of doing this on your own!” Frowning, you watched as Foggy’s face crumpled before your legs were moving of their own accord, carrying you to his side as he turned his glossy eyes to his bedspread. “Hey, Fog, I’m serious!”
Running a hand along his shoulder, your heart split in two as fat tears slipped down his face.
“Fog, buddy, you’re so smart!” Matt chimed in, crossing the divide between the two beds and settling on the blond’s over side. Tugging Foggy to rest against your shoulder, Matt’s head stacked against yours atop Foggy’s blond hair–the three of you melding together into a stressed heap as the heightened emotions of the past week culminated.
“It’s true, don’t deny it.” Foggy lamented from his place on your shoulder, strands of his thick hair sticking to the glistening trails that ran across his blotchy cheeks. “I have no idea what I’m doing, I shouldn’t be here! Maybe my parents are right and I should drop out to work in the family store instead.”
“The hell you should! You’re just as capable of this shit as we are.” You assured him, rubbing a hand up and down his sweatshirt clad arm. “And you’re not the only one worried about passing. I freak out about that every day!”
“Yah, but you’re not the one who failed the Civil Procedure midterm.” The long haired boy sobbed.
You froze, second-hand anxiety rippling through you like a stiff breeze. Matt’s head lifted from yours and cocked towards his roommate. “Oh Fog, why didn’t you tell us?”
“You were mad at me and we weren’t hanging out anymore and–and–” The poor kid was bawling, fists clenching around the worn fabric of his pajama pants as feelings of terror and embarrassment welled up in his chest.
“It’s ok, bud, just breathe.” You soothed shakily, trying to model steady breaths for him. Sensing your intentions, Matt smiled encouragingly.
“That’s it, dude. You got it.” When the blond’s breathing evened, Matt nudged his shoulder gently. “I’m really sorry that I pushed you away. I was acting like a fucking middle schooler instead of being honest with you. Just know, you can always always come to me, even if we’re fighting.”
“Same here.” You added, studying Matt’s blank eyes for a moment, “That goes for both of you.”
“Can we go back to being best friends now?” Foggy sniffled, pulling back to look between you and Matt warily.
“We never stopped being best friends, silly,” Pulling Foggy into a tight hug, you huffed a chuckle as he sighed in relief.
“Well, ya could’ve fooled me.” The words were muffled as Foggy continued to press his face into your cardigan.
The bed stirred underneath you as Matt shifted uncomfortably. Clearing his throat, you could see him building up the courage to confess, “I’ve never, uh, I’ve never really had…friends before.” Matt’s words were calculated, trying not to reveal too much anguish as he spoke. “I had a mentor for a bit, at the orphanage, but that was it. So, I’ll admit, I’m not the most…practiced at this.”
“That’s ok, Matty. We can teach you. Right, Fog?” Taking the raven-haired boy’s hand, you waited for the other’s assent.
He nodded viciously, swiping a hand over his damp face. “Of course.”
Squeezing Matt’s hand, you giggled. “You’re stuck with us now, Matty.”
With a satisfied grin, Matt threw an arm over Foggy’s shoulders. “Thank god. Who else will put googly eyes on all my stuff?”
Foggy smiled as you giggled, but his face quickly fell as you brought up studying again. “As for that test Fog, we can go through it together. There’s plenty of time until the end of the semester and we have two other exams. You can do this.”
“You think so?” Biting his lip, Foggy glanced between you and Matt.
“We know so, bud.” Matt promised. “We’re in this together. Right, jitterbug?”
“Ok, where is this ‘jitterbug’ nonsense coming from.” You scoffed, biting back a smile at Matt’s hearty laugh.
“Don’t ask me, Foggy started it!” Matt chuckled.
“Sure, pass the blame to the crying kid!” Rolling his eyes, Foggy elbowed Matt in the chest.
“You’re not even crying anymore!”
“You’re both deflecting!” You butted in, earning new excuses from both boys.
As the three of you argued, you remained a knot of limbs–shadows and pink rays of light dancing across your smiles as the sun set.

you smile as you scroll through the comments, being careful not to look too much. you know how harsh some people can be, courtesy of your job and your relationship with a particular Panther.
you two had become acquainted at the 2018 Met Gala. with you being a huge fan of Black Panther and her character, you immediately went over to praise her for her role and being an inspiration for so many. the conversation was brief, but fulfilling, and later that night, you followed her in instagram, her reciprocating within the hour.
it would be nearly a year before you reconnected—outside DMs and short texts—at a shoot for Harper’s Bazaar UK. conversation came easy between the two of you, flowing so naturally. though you were doing separate shoots, in between was filled with laughter that lit up the both of you. you wrapped for the day and while normally you hole up in your hotel after work, she insisted on taking you to her favorite places in London. who were you to deny her?
since then, you’d been spotted with her countless times, and while you had gotten used to the paparazzi, it was Letitia’s ever growing fan base that gave you the hardest time. her fans had been an adorning, supportive people following the release of Black Panther, but the sequel brought an entirely new wave that overwhelmed you and your girlfriend. in the first few months of your relationship, there’d be hardly any whispers of you guys. though it seemed people were putting two and two together which led to rude comments and even death threats.
that was exactly the reason why you’d been weary about opening up about your relationship with Tish. you loved her and wanted to do so out loud, but in this industry sometimes it’s best to keep it to yourself. you enjoyed sharing various aspects of your life on social media while she was more reserved. in the beginning you both agreed to a private relationship, only teasing fans with suggestive photos and comments under posts. you both talked about being public, easing into it, which is why today was exciting yet nerve wracking. you couldn’t ignore the tight feeling in your chest the previous night and this morning, but the flowers at your door this morning with a loving note filled you with enough content to hit “Post”.
you scrolled through instagram, your feed filled with Valentine’s Day appreciation posts. you stopped when you came along a special one.

letitiawright very nice indeed
in the past, the comments would’ve been flooded with vast replies; supportive, hilarious, or offensive, but thankfully, you taught her how to limit interaction on social media—it’s nothing but loving words and well wishes.
you set your phone down, leaning to your nightstand to re-read the notecard on the flowers you received this morning.
“God blessed me with a woman like you, and I’m eternally grateful. Happy Valentine’s Day my love. I wish I could be there to appreciate you properly, but all in due time. p.s there’s more to come ;)
- Yours, Letitia.”

first love
...begins with a glass of water
Pairing: Mason Mount x Fem!reader
Sumary: You are Dec’s sister, so you and Mason know each other from an early age, but for some reason you didn't get along, and any conversation always ended in each other's tingling. Moreover, you were in love with Mason for a whole bunch of years and you are sure that this is not mutual.
Word count: 2,3K
Author's note: soo, english is not my native language and i'm definitely not a pro, so there might be some mistakes here, please don't be too strict. my first fic! hope you enjoy it:3
Warning: A little silly Mason, but he is fine, i swear!
•••
The morning started with screams coming from the kitchen. You jumped up on the bed from the loud, heart-rending roar of your brother and quietly swore, even in your sleepy head realizing right away: if it’s noisy at home, then someone decided to visit again.
You stretched on the bed and slowly slid off of it, moving down the stairs and hearing the voices get closer with each step.
Damn boys, do they have to be so loud and rabid? Because you can't understand why your brother and his best friend started a fight over a sandwich at 9 goddamn in the morning in the kitchen of your house.
“Yes, and good morning to you” You said sarcastically, attracting guys attention. Declan finally gave Mason a sandwich and smiled at you.
“You are awake, sis” He said softly. “But, as I see it, not in the best mood. And oh my god, what's on your head?” He chuckled, drawing Mason's attention to the mess on your head. You didn't care too much about how you looked, so you just snorted in displeasure at your brother's statement and sat down at the table, making yourself some cereal with milk.
“Good morning, Rice Jr” You looked up at Mason, feeling how your heart sank from his treatment. “How did you sleep?”
“Wonderful! But the awakening was too...loud, if you know what I mean” Mount covered his mouth with his hand in mock surprise and shook his head. You rolled your eyes and continued to eat, ignoring him, which was actually quite difficult.
“Shouldn't you be at school now?” Mockingly drawled Mason, grinning from your displeased look. Of course he knew that you had already graduated, he just liked teasing you too much. The difference of two years caused constant jokes on his part throughout the years that you were acquainted.
“So funny, Mount. Shouldn't you be in training now?”
“I have a week off” You chuckled sadly and shook your head. “This is very bad, your bones must be rusting by this time”.
“C'mon guys stop it” Dec appeared in the room, dressed and ready to go.
“Where are you going?”
“Affairs of adults” And as soon as Mason said it, he immediately got a kick in the ass from your brother.
“Auch!”
“Stop bullying my sister. We are going to meet with the guys from England team” Declan said, grabbing his keys from the nightstand. You fidgeted in your chair.
“Will you come in the evening? Maybe ... by 9 o'clock?”
Your brother furrowed his brows and asked “And what did you want?”
“I'm going to a party tonight. Will you drop me off?” You felt how Mason's gaze darted towards you. And when your brother agreed, he widened his eyes in surprise. “You were going to drink today”.
“Oh yes...that's right. Well, Mase would drop you off”
“Really?”
“Oh yea really?” Obviously Mount was unhappy that his opinion was not even asked.
“Yes, why not?” Threw Dec and moved to the door. Mason followed him, grumbling: “Man, what a party? She’s too small!”
“C’mon Mase”
“Yes Mase, just shut up!” You yelled at his back before the door closed.
•••
You don't remember exactly when it all started. it’s impossible to say for sure whether it was when you first saw Mason at your brother’s games, or a little later, when Mason first came to your house for playing with Dec and asked you for a glass of water. Maybe when you turned 14 and he was 16, you suddenly realized that he is no longer the same Mase that just kicks the ball in the backyard of your house with your brother, now he is a very handsome boy with muscles and a low voice, who, unfortunately, will never look at you as a girl, no matter if you are 14 or 22. You will always be Rice Jr, who he likes to tease so much.
At least you thought so.
Today you wanted to be extra beautiful, especially when you understood that Mason would drop you off, and you wanted to impress him so badly, even if you knew that you were not attract him as a girl. Anyway, you are a young, smart, beautiful and funny girl who is going to a party today, you are doing great, you are going to have fun and stop thinking about Mount.
You put on a lilac mini dress with a corset top and made light curls. The natural ‘clean’ make-up with emphasis on the lips, and yes you are ready and look stunning.
Hearing the door slam, you went downstairs.
“Y/n!” Declan called you.
“I'm coming!” As soon as you appeared on the stairs, you heard a loud cry from your brother. “Damn, sis! You look great!”
“Thank u, Dec” You smiled at him and finally found Mason standing at the door with eyes on you. Was he…surprised, impressed? You weren't sure how to accurately describe that look, but you definitely loved the way it burned through your eyes. It took Mason a few more seconds to take his eyes off you and turn to the door.
“Let's go”
You meekly followed him to the car and, after thinking for a while, decided to sit in front. Mason started the car, asked for the address, and you drove away from the house. For the first few minutes such awkwardness reigned in the air that you even had time to regret that you had agreed to this venture.
“So, you... you look good. Beautiful”, muttered embarrassed Mount, without taking his eyes off the road. You bit the inside of your cheek so as not to smile and show how glad you really were for his compliment, and just quietly thanked him.
You quickly reached the right place. You got out of the car, about to say goodbye to Mason, but he came after you.
“What's wrong?”
“It’s just” You frowned in confusion. “I’ll just walk with you, see what kind of place this is, if there are any adults here” An annoyed groan escaped your mouth. You waved your hands dismissively and turned around, quickly leaving.
“I'm not a fucking kid, you jerk!” Your rude words had no effect on him, so he followed you, but before you even reached the door, you were called out.
“Y/n, darling!” You turned around and saw who it was. “You're looking like a dream” It was your good friend Eric who invited you to the party. You smiled broadly and hugged him tightly. “I'm glad you're here. Shall we go inside?”
“Yes, sure!”
“Wow guys, wait. Y/n, who is this?” Yes… you forgot one small detail: Mason was still standing behind. “My friend Eric. I'll be with him all evening, so you can safely go home, nanny” You muttered mockingly, making Mason grin.
“Hey man. Don't worry, I'll take care of Y/n”, kindly said Eric, holding out his hand. Mason shook it, squeezing a little more than necessary, and threw a displeased look at you. “Oh, I'm sure you will”.
“Yes, so you can go”, You said firmly, still a little angry at Mount for the way he treats you. He pursed his lips and raised his hands in a resigned gesture.
“Yea…you're not a kid anymore, right?” And he left, leaving you with head-eating thoughts for the rest of the party. Is he actually was…jealous?
•••
The next morning was the same chaos, but now not because of extraneous sounds, but from a hangover, accompanied by a headache and dryness in the throat. You groaned in doom, when you realized that the glass of water and the magic pill were not on the nightstand, so you had to get out of bed and go downstairs to to bring yourself to your senses.
After two hours, you definitely felt better: you managed to go to the shower, dry your hair and change into sweatpants and an oversized T-shirt. It was quiet at home, Declan was in training until the evening, so you decided to sit in the living room with a laptop and study.
The insistent call at the door finally reached you through the music of your headphones, and you hurriedly got up from your seat. “I'm coming!” You ran to the door and opened it without even looking through the peephole, so you were quite obviously surprised when you saw Mason outside the door.
“Hey” He greeted uncertainly. “Um…hi. Dec is not here”.
“Yes, I know. Can i come in?” You nodded briefly and let him pass, still not fully understanding what Mount was doing here. “Tea, coffee?”
“Coffee please” Mason sat at the table, watching you start preparing coffee for you two. “So…how was the party?”
“Good, I had fun”
“Yea, with that guy, I think” You looked at him strangely, realizing that he was talking about Eric.
“What do you mean?”
“Well...you looked like you were pretty close” Your cheeks blushed as you realized he was trying to find out if you were dating Eric. “Um…we are definitely just friends. One hundred percent”.
“Oh…cool. I mean, got it”. You put two cups of coffee on the table and sat across from him. “So why are you here?”
“Why not?”
“Don't think, I'm not kicking you out” You chuckled, taking a big sip of coffee. “It just looks like you came to see me”. Of course, you just teased him, expecting a reciprocal mockery in response, as it usually happened, but it did not follow.
“Y/n” He got your attention by saying your name with a voice full of both excitement and complete confidence: “M?”
“Let's go on a date” You choked on your coffee, coughing loudly. Mason gave you a napkin and waited for you to calm down. “Mount, for God's sake, what are you doing?” You muttered dissatisfied, hiding your face in napkins.
“Invite you on a date” He answered casually. Your cheeks burn. “It's not funny” You said, pushing your coffee mug away. Mason smiled tenderly and leaned towards you, leaving critically little distance between you.
“Why not? I’m cool, you’re cool. Cool people have to stick together” Seeing your distrustful gaze he became more serious. “Y/n I'm not kidding. I like you. Like…most of my fucking life. All the time that I've known you”
“You always treated me like a kid. How the hell was I supposed to know that you like me?” You muttered, feeling your palms sweat. His brown eyes shimmer in the light, and you almost go crazy with his beauty.
“I'm sorry. I'm the biggest jerk on the planet, I know. I just... I was so scared to admit that I like my friend’s little sister. I was constantly haunted by the feeling that this was wrong, that I was betraying Dec and all that shit. But you've always been more to me than Rice Jr. You were always reminding me that sunny girl with crooked teeth who gave me a glass of water the day I first arrived at your house”. A soft chuckle escapes your mouth, making him smile wide. “You always shone for me brighter than all others, Y/n. And yesterday, when I saw you with that guy, I was like ‘Oh shit, I'm such a dumbass, how can I miss her? She is literally the love of my life’ ” You shyly hide your face in your hands and feel a happy squeak stuck inside.
Is it all real? Is this Mason Mount now sitting in your kitchen and confessing his love to you? The same Mount you've been in love with for a whole bunch of years?
“Stop it or I'll cry now” You admitted without raising your face. Mason walked around the table and pulled your hands to him to see watery eyes and a happy smile. He pushed your noses together and giggled along with you. “I'm happy” Your whisper gave him goosebumps.
“Me too. And you would know how much I want to kiss you” You turned away in embarrassment, trying to avoid his gaze. “Mason!”
“You would only know... seriously, you wouldn't believe that someone could want something so badly”.
You reached out to him, tremblingly waiting for his actions. His eyes lit up as he realized you wanted that kiss as much as he did. “Hey sis!” Declan's voice made you jump away from each other. You awkwardly rubbed your neck and turned away from Mason when your brother entered the kitchen. “Oh man, what are you doing here?”
“Hey! Um…I came to settle some business” Mason muttered, looking askance at you. “Settle some business? With my sister?”
“Yeah” Declan looked at you in bewilderment.
“Uhm, I just left the bracelet in his car. Mason came to return it” Your brother looked at the two of you in disbelief and headed upstairs to change after training. “Bracelet?”
“What else was I supposed to say?” You asked, mirroring his smile. Mount gently touched your hand, causing your heart to melt.
“Then... what about our date? Maybe Sunday night? We could go somewhere and all that”
“Cinema is the best option,” Declan said casually, back in the kitchen. You screamed in fright and jumped away from Mason. “Dec, what the hell!”
“What? Everyone goes to the cinema on a first date” He stole an apple from the table and disappeared upstairs again, leaving you gazing at each other, uncomprehendingly, until you were infected with laughter again. “So cinema”
“Yes, I like this idea” Mason said smiling. You nodded and squeezed his hand slightly in yours, still in mild shock. Mount, doubtful, froze for a split second, but nevertheless decided and left a light kiss on your cheek.
“See you soon, beautiful. I'll text you and pick you up” He went to the door, saying goodbye. “See you soon” You replied with a wide smile, squeaking happily as the door closed behind him. “Be careful, sister, don’t die of happiness, I still have to go out to your wedding!” Your brother shouts from the 2nd floor.
“Declan, for God's sake!”

Hello ^^
I saw that your requests are open, so if its okay may I ask for a Eddie Munson x reader? In which reader is trying to escape Vecna but the music stops, so Eddie continues it by singing it for her?
Track Two
(Eddie Munson x Female Reader)
Warnings: Vecna, mutual pining, angst, mean Eddie for a hot sec
Word Count: 2863
A/N: Holy shit, I did not think I'd get this done before the new year. Thank you so much for your patience! This is my first Eddie fic so I really wanted it to be at its best! I loved writing his character and I look forward to doing more in the future. I hope you enjoy!
*featuring "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac*
You had just returned from your accidental visit to the Upside Down. After Steve was pulled in, it didn’t take long for the rest of you to follow. You hadn’t thought it could be more frightening than the first time you were there, but you were wrong. The red flashes of thunder, the vines covering nearly every surface, the knowledge that Vecna could pop up at any minute? It terrified you.
You’d never been so thankful to be back in Eddie’s trailer. Still, your second home felt far from that with the gate in the ceiling.
You had to focus on the positives: you were all safe, relatively—Max was nowhere near out of the woods. Eddie was with you—you could tell he was on edge, but when he met your gaze, he seemed to relax a little. At least he wasn’t alone in that boat house anymore. And you were on your way for supplies. If Vecna wanted to try and take one of you, you weren’t going down without a fight.
Eddie sensed that you were going too deep into your thoughts, so he knocked your knee with his.
“Penny for your thoughts,” he said, leaning close, his shoulder touching yours.
The corner of your mouth tugged upward. “They’re worth a nickel, actually.”
He whistled. “Wow, inflation’s no joke.”
You giggled—leave it to Eddie to make light of a dire situation.
“There it is,” he said softly, glancing from your mouth back to your eyes.
You rolled them. “Yeah, yeah, you and your dumb jokes.”
“I thought that was pretty clever.” He pouted.
You pushed your shoulder against his lightly. “Wasn’t bad.”
He pushed back. “So, you gonna tell me what’s up?”
You sighed. “Just…thinking.”
“Don’t,” he urged. It still surprised you how well Eddie knew you, even after all these years. It was like he could read your mind. Which, given that El existed, isn’t too far-fetched.
“Can’t help it.” You gave him a sad smile. “Not when all this shit is affecting you now.”
“I’ll be fine,” he said. “We’ll both be. Long as we have each other’s backs.”
“Yeah.” You tried to sound convincing. “We’ll be fine.”
He wished he could wipe the doubt on your face away. But this wasn’t one of his campaigns that he could erase and start from scratch. This was…This was unbelievable.
Your head tilted, eyes narrowed as you stared at the RV wall.
“(Y/N)?” Eddie asked. “You okay?”
You inhaled sharply, not daring to look away.
“I see it,” you whispered.
His brow furrowed. “See what?”
“The clock.”
—
You had stayed in the RV with Eddie and Dustin, trying to keep your hands from trembling. They tried to convince you everything would be okay, that they would kill Vecna before he could touch you. But their voices muffled as you lost yourself in every scenario.
When your group had piled back in, it was decided you’d make a quick stop at your house to pick up your favorite song and cassette player. None of it registered, though. You were too consumed with your imagination to hear anything they said.
You pulled up in front of your house, both of your parents at work. Eddie led you, Steve, Nancy, and Robin through the front door. Nancy had ordered the kids to stay there. She knew your dad kept survival tools in the basement and figured it couldn’t hurt to have a few more weapons and maybe a first aid kit.
She and Steve went to get that stuff as the rest of you went to your room.
Eddie was hesitant to leave your immediate side.
“(Y/N)?” he asked softly. “Look at me, please?”
You did. Those pretty brown eyes did little to warm you like they usually did.
“We’ve got this,” he said. “Nothing’s gonna happen to you.”
You nodded slowly, not quite believing him.
“Hey,” he grabbed your hand, “I mean it.”
His hand in yours drew you back to reality. He always had this innate ability to make you feel better—to make you feel like you weren’t alone. It was one thing that never ceased to impress you. He had never not been there for you.
“Thank you,” you said. “Don’t know what I’d do without you.”
His lips tilted up slightly. “I do.”
“Oh?” You tilted your head.
“You’d let me take the fall for the murders.”
Your eyes narrowed. “...What are you talking about?”
He shrugged. “If you didn’t know me, you’d believe I was the one who killed everyone. You’d think I was a murderer, too.”
You shook your head frantically. “No, Eddie. I could never think that. Not even if we weren’t friends.”
“You can tell yourself that, but it doesn’t change the truth,” he said, sliding his hand to your wrist.
“Why…Why are you saying all this?” You wanted to rip your arm away, but his grip tightened, forcing you to stay put.
“Because it’s the truth,” he said. “Even if you’re not ready to acknowledge it.”
His voice deepened.
You blinked.
And when you opened your eyes, your room was gone. Eddie was gone.
And Vecna had taken his place.
—
The beginning of your senior year was a week away. The beginning of Eddie’s second attempt to graduate had him anxious. And when that happened, he fidgeted. And when he fidgeted, it was usually through your stuff.
“I need to get you some real music,” he said, pushing aside whatever cassette he was holding.
“I need to get you some real taste,” you quipped, glancing up with a smirk.
He faced you, hand clutching his chest and mouth agape. “Ow!”
You giggled. “Just pick something! You may like it.”
He scrunched his nose. “I may have to if your stash doesn’t get any better.”
Rolling your eyes fondly, you lay down on your bed, staring at the ceiling. The faint tapping of cassette case against case created a rhythm. You were unconsciously moving your foot to it when it stopped.
“Now this, I can get behind.” He held up one of your Fleetwood Mac albums, promptly putting it in your stereo.
“Play track two,” you said, closing your eyes.
The opening notes to the song filtered through the air as Eddie lay beside you, arms brushing.
“You ready for next week?” he asked quietly.
“Physically or mentally?” You turned your head to him.
He shrugged. “Both.”
“I guess. Just not ready for what comes after.” You were always comfortable around Eddie. He didn’t judge you for what you wore or how you acted. You told him everything. Well, almost everything.
He didn’t need to know your feelings for him. They were better kept in a box deep within your heart. You didn’t need to complicate something that was already near perfect.
“I get that,” he said, lying on his side. “I just hope I’ll have those anxieties with you.”
You gave him a soft smile. When he got the news about repeating senior year, he was more frustrated than you’d ever seen him. He wanted to get out of Hawkins, make a name for himself besides “The Freak,” and play music for whoever would listen.
He had come to your house afterward and worked himself close to tears with his head in his hands. You didn’t know what to do, so you talked to him about everything you’d do together as seniors—how you both had another year to be “kids,” so to speak. And that seemed to calm him down. He was just happy he had you with him, a thought he would express many times throughout the coming school year.
“I’ve got you, Eds,” you said, squeezing his fingers.
He gave you a grateful smile. “I know.”
—
“Shit, shit, shit!” Eddie panicked.
“What’s wrong?” Nancy asked as she and Steve arrived in your room. Your whitened eyes were enough of an answer.
“Get her song!” Steve urged, looking at Eddie already searching through your music.
He let out a string of curses. “I forgot she told me she needed a new one!” He held up the cracked cassette. You accidentally dropped it when switching it out and didn’t have the heart to throw it away before you got another.
“What do we do?” Robin asked.
“Does she have another favorite song?” Steve moved to help rifle through your collection.
“She’s literally been listening to this for years! I don’t think she knows other songs exist!” Eddie said, gripping the roots of his hair.
It had been on whenever he saw you. If it came on while you were hanging out in his room listening to the stereo, you turned it up. You threw it in when he’d pick you up. The only reason he knew the song was because of you. The only reason he could sing every word of it was that—!
Eddie scrambled to get as close to you as possible. Standing so he could hold your biceps and look into your whitened eyes.
“What are you doing?” Steve’s brow furrowed.
“I’m gonna sing it,” Eddie said, trying to pump himself up.
“Do you think that will work?” Eddie could hear the doubt in Nancy’s voice.
“It’s the only shot she has,” Eddie said.
This was his best friend. The person he went to with his campaign ideas, when he needed comfort, or when he passed a test—really anything. You had always been there for him. No matter what was going on in your life, if he needed you, you were there. Now, it was his turn.
This had to work—he had to save you. He didn’t want to imagine how he’d make it through life without you. You were it for him. He had a feeling since he spotted you in the hallway wearing a Black Sabbath shirt. Then, he knew for sure when you cussed out Jason Carver for being “the dumbest douchebag with the longest stick up his ass” when he wouldn’t quit harassing Eddie.
His time with you was his favorite. Whenever you weren’t around, he wondered when he could see you again. He’d do anything to make you laugh. He’d do anything to protect you.
He inhaled deeply, slowly nodding to the beat in his head, and then, he sang.
“Now here you go again, you say you want your freedom…”
—
Red lightning flashed all around you, Vecna’s voice the thunder.
“It will be over quickly,” he said, the wet squelch of his feet getting louder.
Vines tightened around your wrists and ankles, pulling you taut against the trunk of them behind you.
You tried to surge forward, to rip them off and run, but your muscles burned, and it hurt to breathe. This was it. Vecna was already so close. There was no way Eddie or the others would save you, especially without your song.
You wanted to smack yourself for not replacing it. You would die because of one little choice to leave it to another date.
At least you got to spend your last few hours with Eddie. Even if it was preparing for Vecna, you still got to be near him—you got to talk to him one last time. You only hoped he’d remember you as you were and not the broken pile you’d be once it was all over.
You hoped his name would be cleared, he’d graduate, and he’d live out his biggest dreams. And stay safe. You just needed him to be safe.
As Vecna stood before you, you settled on an image of a smiling Eddie, that big grin he’d give you when he wanted to play you a song he taught himself. It only widened when you applauded as if you were in the front row of one of his concerts. You could almost hear him saying, “Prettiest audience I’ve ever played for.”
…
Wait…
…You could hear his voice.
But he wasn’t being his cheesy, flirty self.
…He was singing.
“...Well, who am I to keep you down…”
Your song. He was singing your song!
With Eddie’s voice, the air in your lungs fueled you. It was enough distraction for Vecna to glance over his shoulder as a portal opened. That was all you needed.
The vines loosened, or maybe you had a surge of strength. Next thing you knew, you were running. Running toward the portal, running toward your friends, running toward Eddie, standing right in front of you, and singing.
“You can not escape me, (Y/N),” Vecna said, sending the vines after you.
But you barely heard him. All you could focus on was Eddie’s voice and how each lyric sunk deep into your bones and propelled you forward.
The vines gained on you.
Your feet were sore.
He was right there.
You reached out, and the shimmering tickled your fingertips as his voice faded and a vine slithered around your ankle.
“...When the rain washes you clean, you’ll know…”
—
The new year was just around the corner as you and Eddie holed up in his room for the day. You’d taken a year off to save up some money for college, and Eddie was a few months into his third senior year.
He was furiously scribbling at his desk: a new campaign, he said. You never minded these days. You enjoyed the peacefulness of simply being in the same room as Eddie, doing your own things.
The stereo was set to a hum—background noise helped him concentrate. When the music stopped, you got up to switch the cassette. You knew Eddie’s collection like your own: Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden—if it was metal, it was here. That’s why this new album took you off guard.
You held the Fleetwood Mac cassette up. “When did you get this?”
Eddie glanced over his shoulder. “Last week.” He shrugged. “It’s a good album.”
He turned back to his campaign, hoping his voice sounded normal. He didn’t want you to know he bought it so you’d always have that song with you. He didn’t want you to know that when you weren’t here, he listened to it like you were. He really didn’t want you to know that it had slowly become one of his favorites because you listened to it when you were both together.
And maybe he had imagined swaying with you to that song. He’d light some candles, hold you against him, and wish he could stay like that forever.
But that’s all it was, just some wish.
He could hear the smile in your voice as you spoke. “Looks like you finally got some taste.”
And though you couldn’t see it, he rolled his eyes, a smile on his own lips. “Guess you’re a good influence on me.”
—
You gasped, knees buckling as you returned to your body. Eddie quickly caught you, lowering you to the floor where he pulled you close, one of his legs behind you and the other under your own.
Tears streamed down your face as you curled as best you could into him. Your arms wrapped around his neck as you buried your head in its crook.
You had been so cold there, even though all you saw was red; it was like the place tried to freeze you solid. Eddie’s warm hands rubbing your back pushed the chill in your bones away. His grip was the only thing grounding you, telling you that you were where you belonged.
One of his hands moved to stroke your head. “I’m here. I’ve got you now." He breathed you in. "You’re back, sweetheart.”
He tried to bring you closer, placing his head atop yours and holding you by your shoulder and knees—like he could keep Vecna from grabbing you again.
So, when you calmed and began to pull away, he almost yanked you back to his body.
Once you both rose from the floor, the others urged you back to the RV, Eddie’s arm around your waist.
He took your hand when you sat on the back bench as the rest of the group discussed the plan. Nancy had thought to grab your walkman and headphones, and Max had thrown all her music in her backpack and had a copy of the album you needed.
Your headphones rested around your neck, the song softly playing. You wanted to help everyone figure out how to kill Vecna, but the only thing you could focus on was the phantom vines encircling your wrists.
You kept expecting them to be there when you looked away from one of your friends. Eddie must have noticed you weren’t paying attention, his knee nudging yours as he furrowed his brow in concern.
He knew you weren’t okay. Neither of you were okay. So, he did the one thing he could think of and squeezed your hand before pressing a kiss to your temple.
You leaned into it, needing him more than you could ever express.
“I’m right here,” he whispered into your ear.
You turned your head slightly so your foreheads were together.
“You always are,” you whispered back. As long as you had Eddie by your side, you would fight. You would win. And maybe afterward, you’d tell him you loved him.
