I finally got around to watching Agatha All Along, and if I'm gonna post anything about it, I'll say that they did the right thing by including one of the best parts of Wandavision:
Having loads of opportunities for fun themed group costuming.
#on a more serious note#agatha all along is SERIOUSLY good#i was stuck in both marvel fatigue and disgust at disney for pulling upcoming trans focused cartoon episodes#but this show was such a surprising delight in multiple ways that I'm gonna have a smidgen of hope for both aspects to become better one da#just a smidgen tho because agatha all along aired before the election#which is undoubtedly a large part of why the trans focused cartoon episodes were pulled after the fact#but apparently agatha all along did really well as it aired so im going to hope it'll show disney what we want from them going forward#i dont know if many people in my tumblr circles are enough of marvel fans for me to say GO WATCH IT NOW#but like#if you either know the wandavision and multiverse of madness stuff#or don't mind picking up info as you go into the show blind#i really do recommend it#agatha all along

Asldfjs good point, I forget that tumblr's got a read more function half the time. XD Excessive excited hyperfixation rambling is GO
I appreciate your efforts to get all the tracks named, despite all the variation across sources and occasional missing info! (I don't know Japanese either used to have katakana and hiragana memorized but I've forgotten like half of each, so I can't comment on accuracy, but I at least definitely appreciate the internal consistency!)
I wish you the best of luck with both getting your diagnosis sorted, and with the brain-wrangling afterward! Being locked in creative block sucks. D: Also time is fake, what even is keeping track of years, time blindness is apparently an ADHD symptom it's all good. It's great that new folks are still discovering and getting into fun old shows like YYH! And massive kudos to your girlfriend, it sounds like she was SO right in recommending it to you (and why). And I am DELIGHTED that you did indeed make a "same picture" meme in that Hiei/Shadow comparison post, that's perfect. XD
I can't remember who all I've drawn from YYH...I think I've maybe tried (and struggled with) Yusuke? But I've definitely drawn Karasu a fair bit, and I know I've drawn Yukina a few times, too. (I think the two of them I can almost draw from memory, but would likely miss a few details.) And maybe Jin a bit too? In any case, I wish us both luck eventually mustering the creative energy to draw them again, and I'd love to see yours when you do! <3
With crochet, I can do like...the basic single chain, and that's about it. XD I struggle with reading stitches/figuring out what to pick up in order to do more than that. And intellectually I understand the process of the "single crochet" stitch (because it creates a "single" stack), but like. Instinctively speaking, why's it two loops?? It feels like such a misnomer, haha. I also struggle horribly with yarn tension...I keep making things waaaay too tight. Which is also not necessarily wise for knitting, but at least the needle's there the whole time to at least keep it relatively consistent between stitches. >_>' But fingers crossed that you also have the energy to start crocheting again soon, and that diving back in is super fun! (Also, what sort of things have you made, if you don't mind me asking? There's a shockingly huge variety of things you can turn a long bit of string into. :D) Re: patternmaking, I'd initially just started out with relatively simple alterations to existing patterns, like swapping out an increase type I didn't like doing for one I did. But then I ran into a couple small patterns that were like...good for what they were, but I realized were waaaay different from how I'd approach that same thing? So "alterations" turned into "start from scratch (and get stuck in forever-testing-and-retesting ad nauseam)." I'm slow as hell from the perfectionism to find the Exact Right Methods, but I think I'll be satisfied when I finally finish getting these patterns sorted out someday!
ASdlfkj AHAHAHAHA oh man some of those memes genuinely got me cackling aloud. XD Thank you for linking that tag, it was great to go through. I don't have a good setup to make a gif meme, but there's one point where Genkai floats and flips Yusuke upside down, and I can't help but see it as the shark "GET ROTATED IDIOT" meme. Though Yusuke gets rolled along the ground so often, there's a LOT of clips you could use of him for it. XD (Oh yeah, I think you mentioned in there once or twice that Hiei is a cat, and absolutely agree 100% yes, I wrote out a whole list for a friend once pointing out the big and small cat-like things he does. And it is WAY easier to read him if you're familiar with reading cat body language.) Also, that's an excellent reason to start collecting the frames and absolutely fair to end up stuck every now and then just making heart eyes once Hiei starts showing up. (Also also, the friend I mentioned is science-y and also loves Kurama, so I took like...20+ screenshots of that one scene where he's in a labcoat in his quiet after-school club, 'cause friend hadn't seen past the Dark Tournament yet either, and it was so hard to find screenshots of. I know it'll take a while, since the series is so long, but I look forward to when you get to that scene so I can link them even better quality stills! <3)
Best of luck finding good sites to host the scripts on, and wise to plan to set it up in more than one place! (I also suggest, once you get it going, popping each page's link into the Wayback Machine as you go, as a third/backup source!)
I'll go ahead and edit the post to credit you, then! That'll give more folks the chance to potentially see the other cool collections you're sorting out. :3
AND YES, THE DANCE MIX DIALOGUE IS SO GOOD. I do think all the CD dialogue stuff collectively kinda feels like a very slight AU/minor divergence from the anime (as the anime is from the manga, from what I know of the differences between them still gotta go read it...). But it's all so funny, and I love the little bits of character development Hiei got in them. Like how he's SUCH a smug little shit when he brags to Yusuke about his own song being the one that was requested. Look at him go, learning how to socialize outside of battle! And arguing the way you'd expect between bickering brothers!! (That drawn-out "damare~" especially. Such a brat, but also said in a tone I'd never expect from him during the anime. I'm so proud. Now go tell Yukina you're her brother, she CLEARLY knows and already loves you dearly, you goober.) OH OH OH and when Kuwabara messes with everyone and acts like he died to a rain of spears! There's nothing I could catch that specifically indicates it on the CD, but. I can't help thinking that Kurama was in on it with him, and was just acting stressed out to help sell the joke, like he has a few times in the anime. >:D I'm also delighted to hear that "computer destruction" is apparently among the list of similarities Hiei has with Shadow. That's so funny. XD I could absolutely see Hiei going to "hack" a computer with his sword.
And yeah, there's a handful of other YYH characters I like a lot, but. Hiei and Kurama are definitely at the top of my list for this series, hahaha. (I'm kiiinda tempted to also recommend Yu-Gi-Oh!, if you haven't seen it? Primarily because Bakura (all fuckin' three of him) parallels so well with Kurama (all two of him). I'm not sure Marik fits quite as well into the archetype Hiei and Shadow do wrong color scheme at the least, but he's still fun and spiky and stabby and trauma and a delight. And with both characters you get the same "there is no straight explanation for ANY of this"...though that's arguably also the series as a whole. XD It probably won't hit quite as hard as Kurahi did, but I think there's a decent bit of overlap you might still enjoy. I will say the manga storyline does a bit of a better job sticking with a cohesive plot order, since the anime caught up while it was in progress and had to buy time with a couple original arcs that don't flow as smoothly. It also skipped adapting the early chapters, which were generally darker and had (Yami) Bakura's initial intro as a delightful TTRPG DM sadistic nightmare man, which bookends nicely with him ending the series in almost exactly the same way. But both versions are good if you're interested in watching/reading, and no worries if not!)
Alas, I personally don't tend to click much with fan playlists (my tastes are possibly too narrow/I have trouble seeing a given song in the same way as indicated? I dunno D:), but I love that it's a thing people do! I don't generally sort out proper series/character playlists for myself either, but I do absolutely once in a while listen to a song and go "oh shit, this really fits [thing/person(s)]." I'm blanking right now on whether I've run across any songs that are actually fitting for YYH, but I do remember one that like. I wish the lyrics worked, because the title/chorus line is SO WEIRDLY PERFECT?? Tears of Pearls by Savage Garden is just. It seems like it should be amazing for Yukina, but it's a romantic type song and she's got such ace/aro vibes...asldkjf oh hell I just checked the lyrics and I'd been mishearing, it's "stolen pearls" not "stone and pearls" so OOPS it might actually fit completely for Hiei and Kurama, if you assume Hiei can make hiruiseki? So uh. That is an actual proper song recommendation, I guess. XD
If I think of/run across any more, I'll be sure to let you know! (Off the top of my head, maybe Turn Back the Clock by Steam Powered Giraffe, if you want a heartbreaking song from the perspective of Youko? an immortal/long-lived entity who is learning about the concept of humans having short life spans? Oh fuck I just hurt MY heart thinking about it as Yukina meeting a human kid and watching them grow up and oh nooooo I mean she understands the concepts of offspring and death unlike the robot singing it but OH NOOO Or maybe Kiss From a Rose by Seal, for a mellow Hiei POV-ish song? Oops now I'm just glancing through all the music I have in case anything else catches my eye OH OH and Horror of Our Love by Ludo, as...I think mostly Kurama's POV, though some verses might fit Hiei's POV better? Obligatory Oingo Boingo recommendation since Kuwabara has their poster on his wall: everything maybe No Spill Blood for Youko, or No One Lives Forever and Dead Man's Party specifically for Yusuke but also kinda just in general? Oooh and I Will Never Die by Delta Rae for Kurama. Okay yeah that's everything that stuck out at a glance in my music folder. XD)
What a small 'net! I saw a reblog of your normalize post, & your avatar caught my eye. So I figured I'd peek at your blog in case you had more shiny stuff to see, & noticed you encourage folks tag you in Kurama & Hiei stuff. I pinned in the back of my head that, after checking out your stuff, I should ask if you want a link to skit translations from the Dance Mix CD—then saw YOU'RE the one who made the beautifully-organized Yu Yu Jukebox! That helped me figure out what CDs I wanted to buy! :D <3
yoo hell yeah!! im glad that helped you out!! its always nice to see the things i make can be useful :3 and nice that my kurama icon is catching the eye of fellow yyh fans hehe!
yu yu hakusho is a huuuge hyperfixation of mine, but my adhd has been making me struggle with focusing on doing the creative stuff i wanna do (like drawing and writing), so ive been instead doing a shit ton of other things revolving around yyh- like collecting the music and making the yu yu jukebox channel, ripping frames to post and organize them on my sideblog @reikai-records , and ive also been working on making a dialogue transcript for the dub (still unsure where to put it online when im done with that tho, atm i just have it on google docs, not too far on it)!
i cant remember if ive encountered translations for the skits of the dance mix cd though, id def love to see that!
#rouge-the-bat#apologies if any of the songs are genres you don't like#I am so bad at identifying what any given song is so I have no idea whether anything fits well with what you've already got#but hopefully at least one or two catch your eye! or...ear. as it were#also a Hiei laugh compilation sounds great#like 80% of it would probably be from that Dance Mix CD but still#and oh dang that's a fascinating OC idea you've got!#preemptive sympathies for her though if she's not careful with that blackmail#'cause like it didn't quite land in the Saint Beasts arc when Hiei said that Kurama was more ruthless than he is#because Kurama didn't really do anything all that drastic#then you get to the Dark Tournament and think 'oh now I get it'#but THEN in Chapter Black BOY HOWDY is it fucking clear that he is absolutely the most terrifying of the group if you get on his bad side#I mean it's SUPER easy not to piss him off to that point#(don't threaten his family and don't make him kill a kid)#but some folks just end up making Bad Decisions

sorrow holidays
desc: you give Wednesday a gift that brought all the memories back
words: 1,255
You've had this in store for quite a while now.
Ever since Wednesday opened up about the tragic loss of her pet scorpion Nero because of the bullies wrongdoing, you knew what to do.
Get Nero 2.0, obviously. Although surely the original Nero could never be replaced in Wednesday's mind, you thought it was worth a try.
Celebrate it or not, festive season is creeping right around the corner. Needless to say, your unenthusiastic girlfriend turned down the teachers offer to play this years Secret Santa.
Not even the fact it's a tradition helped you.
"Take a look around." You demanded with thin patience as teacher was getting closer and closer with a bag full of ripped paper names, expecting two of you to do the same as everyone. Pull out the paper and keep it to yourself.
Wednesday did what you said but with a grain of salt. Only you can make demands aimed at her and nobody else. She can't let you get away with this kind of things so easily just because you're together.
"I did."
"And?"
"I can see everybody participating. Good for them, i'm not doing it."
"But it will be your first time. It's fun, you don't know who you're about to get." You tried your best to win her over as you side-eyed the teacher getting closer to your table.
"Exactly, you don't know who are you getting and you have to pretend you're okay with the person you randomly picked. What if it's someone you hate? See, it's a waste of time."
Making her appearance known by shaking the paper bag, both of you looked up to meet your teachers joyful face, unlike Wednesdays.
"Go ahead, dig in and keep it discreet."
"I won't take part in this game," said Wednesday and you could tell by teachers expression no one has ever refused to play in centuries of Nevermore's existence.
Putting your hand on Wednesday's shoulder and making her sway for a bit which earned you a glare, you said "Ms. Edwards, Wednesday and i had this idea what if we pick eachother instead since we're both really close?"
Wednesday abruptly turning her head to look at you in disbelief, "We never made such agreement Ms. Edwards-"
"Oh, i'm glad you came up with it!" She whispered "I'm not supposed to do this but i've seen a few of your classmates returning the papers. I can only suppose it's Wednesday's name so i'm delighted now we all have pairs!"
And that's how you made her day better again.
Feeling pair of eyes shamelessly staring, you looked to the side. As expected, Wednesday was over and above crushed. It did cause you to panic for a split second. Swiftly taking her hand under the table you defended yourself "Don't worry, i already have something for you but you don't owe me, okay?"
"I against my will, do, unfortunately. It goes both ways and it would be unfair if i did not. How long were you even planning this?"
"Let's just say i had the speech prepared."
Library? Not good enough. Park? No, not that either. Rooftop? Not safe, Ms. Weems might spot you. Nevermore could not really provide a nice secluded spot for gift-giving occasion and it shows.
As every student was invited to join in decorating the academy one afternoon, you were pacing around the room thinking how to make it special. It was your first holiday after all. To Wednesday it might represent nothing but you wish from now on every holiday will be spent by her side. Even if it means having the most miserable and melancholy decorations.
With inside info (being Enid) your suspicions were confirmed. Wednesday predictably stayed locked, windows closed and blinds on in their dorms. Which made two of you the only ones left out from decorating.
You took one last glance at the coal black scorpion seemingly resting in transparent box before covering it for the sake of surprise. Size so small it fits in your palm since it's only about month old. The story of how you managed to sneak in a scorpion is a long one.
Knowing Wednesday should be here soon because you told Enid to send her off, you hid the box behind your stacked desk.
Door opening let the outside commotion slip past which made you spin around in your work chair. Arms and legs crossed like a scene from CEO's office. Seeing Wednesday in her usual dark attire with addition of warm black jacket, you told her "Well hello, the conqueror of my heart."
"You read one book i recommended and you think you can sweep me off my feet by quoting" she answered lightheartedly taking a seat on your bed.
Slightly hurt you put your hand over your chest dramatically. "You mean i don't have you off your feet since the day one?"
Giving you a huff for an answer, Wednesday continued "How come you don't decorate with everybody else?"
Leaving the chair behind only to make your way to her. With fidgeting hands behind your back, you stood in front of her somewhat nervous.
"Since it's our first holidays together and all i...want to spend it with you instead downstairs. And i also got the gift i promised."
Carefully moving the barricade away until you reached the covered box. Picking it up and placing it in the center of the table, you called Wednesday over who was observing with curiosity.
"So i sort of sneaked this in with some outside help and i think you're gonna like it."
Wednesday didn't show it but that intrigued her even more.
Mimicking your movements from before, she tenderly removed the cover to reveal dark creature curled up in the corner. Watching from the side, you could tell she never saw this coming.
"This is for me?" left her and if it weren't for the complete silence that made you anxious for her reaction, you would miss it.
Nodding you said "Yes, i remember your stories how Nero was the best company ever. You said you swore to never cry again-"
She, in fact, did let a tear escape. In front of you. In this very room. In front of this creature that made her reminisce about past.
Witnessing Wednesday cry was a big step in your relationship which you made a note of mentally.
With her hands fearlessly approaching, the scorpion climbed up on it like they knew eachother for decades. Bringing it closer to her face she observed every single detail of the small being.
"11 weeks, Heterometrus spinifer."
"Sorry?"
"It's about 11 weeks old, Heterometrus spinifer. You can see it clearly." She stated like she was speaking to a scorpion professional which you were not.
"Yeah, i totally can. So, do you like it?" Getting closer to her and sharing scorpion observation moment. Romantic.
"I do, a lot. It's just like what Nero once was. You got it all right." She looked at you with watery eyes and thanked you.
Returning it back to its box, Wednesday stared for a bit longer like she's checking if it's real what she got. "As for your gift, it's at my dorms."
It's not that you thought she wouldn't do it but at the same time, you had concerns. "My gift? You actually did something about it?"
"Since you really outdid yourself with this one, you're getting the second one from me personally" she replied. Packing all the stuff ready to transport her favorite being besides you back to her dorm.
"I get two gifts?" The question echoing the halls while she led you down to her door.
"Yes, the latter under the condition of you being quiet."
notes: i know nothing about scorpions but for the first time in my life i googled them with purpose=the things i do for fanfics
-p.s. just in case; characters are aged up obviously

Cute || H. SJ
Pairing : Han Seojun X Blind! Reader
Genre : Fluff
Summary : Han Seojun didn't expect to fall in love so fast, neither did he expect the blind girl he ran into the other day to be so cute.
Wordcount: 3k :)
[ Disclaimer; This is not an accurate description of being blind. ]
A shriek leaves your mouth as you're pulled backwards, falling right into the body of another person.
" Yah! You should watch where you're going! Didn't you see that car? " A (very pleasant) voice scolds you.
You hurriedly turn around, bowing deeply to whoever it is.
" I'm so sorry! " You tell them.
They sigh.
" Honestly, don't apologize to me. Just watch where you're going. " The person scoffed.
You 'look' back up again, hoping you're looking at their face.
" I'm sorry I'm-"
" You're blind. " The person says.
You nod.
" Yes, sorry to bother, I will be on my way again. " You bow again.
However, as you turn around, you're being held again by your wrist.
" Don't blind people have a cane? " They ask.
You can feel the colour rushing to your cheeks.
" Uhm, yeah. Mine broke last week. My family can't effort one for now. "
" So, they leave you to walk by yourself? "
" My mom's busy working. My older sister goes to college so she's generally just very busy- Don't worry though, I'll be okay. "
" Tell me your address. I'll lead you home. " They sigh.
" No way. I don't know you. You could be kidnapping me for all I know. " You exclaim, ripping your wrist out of his hold.
" My name's Han Seojun. I live on MadeUp street and I go to Seobom High. I'm currently 18 years old. " He introduces himself.
" Y'know, for all I know you could be lying. " You point out.
" Well, how would you get home otherwise? " He points out.
" I know the directions by heart. " You smile.
Han Seojun sighs as he's resting his head on the table. His mind keeps going back to that moment of yesterday night.
The girl might've been blind, but her dark eyes seemed to twinkle under the light of the lamppost yesterday night.
Truth to be told, he was scared something might happen to her. What family leaves a blind girl to fend for herself in the dark?
" Yah, Seojun-ah, you're not even listening to a word I've said! " His best friend, Chorong, complains suddenly, bringing him back to present.
" What? " Seojun huffs.
" Ohhhh, what were you thinking about, a girl? " Chorong teases.
" Maybe. " Seojun smirks.
At his answer, Lim Jukyung turns around curiously, yet for the first time in months, Seojun doesn't feel the need to have her attention on him.
-
" Hey! "
Just as hoped, you show again, this time a few hours earlier than before. He's glad he decided to take this route straight out of school.
" Oh, Seojun, is that you? " You ask him.
He smiles.
" Yeah, glad you remember me. I've come to walk you home again. "
He watches as your cheeks heat up.
" Oh, that's real sweet of you. You didn't have to though. " You smile, carefully walking over to him, running a hand over the building beside you.
Seeing your movement, he walks over most of the way, so you wouldn't have to walk all the way to him.
" I wanted to. I enjoyed our walk yesterday. " He tells you with a smile, one you can't see.
" That's nice to hear. I did too. How was your day? " You ask.
The two of you start walking, Seojun making sure to softly brush shoulders every now and then.
" It was alright. I hoped I'd see you again. How was yours? " He asks in return.
You smile sweetly at his words.
" It was okay. I really didn't expect to see you again though. "
And so the two of you walk, once again, all the way to your house. Seojun finds talking with you fun. You seem so soft spoken and delicate that he cannot help but feel a little smitten with you.
" Hey, hand me your phone. " He says, stopping you from entering your house's gate.
" What? " You ask.
" I'll put my contact info in. That way you can call me when you're done in school, I'll pick you up when I can and walk you home. " He explains.
You narrow your eyes at him. (You really aren't though, you're looking right beside him, but it's okay.)
" How would I know you won't be stealing it? "
He laughs.
" Don't worry, even if I did, you can find me at Seobom High. C'mon. " He says, holding his hand out, momentarily forgetting you can't see him.
He softly nudges your arm with his fingers.
" Hmm, hand me your phone, and I'll hand you mine. " You tell him.
He snorts, but does as asked. He takes your hand before smoothly placing his device in your hand. Once he's sure it won't fall out of your grip, he lets go. You take your phone out after a second, handing him an obviously outdated BlackBerry phone. As he puts his number in, the device speaks out every number he puts in.
Once done, he takes your empty hand, placing your phone in it. He softly takes his own back too.
" There goes. See you, hopefully, tomorrow, Y/N." Seojun grins as he pats your head before leaving.
A few months later
Seojun has grown a lot closer with you overtime. Eventually he learned that you come from a very poor family, which was why you didn't have a cane when you first met. A few days after, you thankfully did.
Now the two of you have gone into an easy routine of hanging out nearly everyday. The two of you rarely ever spend time at your place cause' there isn't much to do, but more often than not spend time at his. His mum loves you as if you're one of your own, and his sister has more or less become one of your closest friends as well.
Currently, the two of you are hanging out in his room.
" Y'know, tomorrow I have the day off. " You say whilst spinning around on his desk chair.
Seojun looks up from the 'homework' he's doing. (His phone is in his book.)
" Really? Nice. What're you planning on doing? I've still got school, but we can skip if you're up for something. " He tells you nonchalantly.
You give him an angry look, one he finds all too cute.
" No, skipping classes is bad Junnie. But we can make it later than usual. " You suggest.
He hums.
" Wanna sleep over? " He asks suddenly.
You blink.
" What? I haven't got any of my stuff with me. " You point out.
" That's fine. You can sleep in my clothes and I'm sure we have a spare toothbrush somewhere. My classes don't start until late in the morning anyway. "
" Hmm, let me ask my mom. "
And so it's settled. Tonight, you'll stay at Seojun's place.
" Alright, would you mind if we share my bed or would you like your own mattress? I'm sure we have an inflatable mattress somewhere. " He says, his own cheeks tinting pink at the idea of it.
Truth to be told, the closer the two of you've become, the more he's started to like you. So of course he hopes you'll share his bed.
" I mean, I don't mind sharing your bed if you don't either. " You tell him, your cheeks pink.
" Cool, want me to read to you in bed? " He asks.
" Yes please! "
And so you come back into Seojun's room a while later, a pair of his shorts and his shirts fitting your form. Truth to be told, you look adorable in it.
His cheeks flush as he looks at you.
" You look even better than I do in my clothes. " He grins, getting up from his bed to take you by hand.
A small 'eek' leaves your lips as he pulls you forward.
" Don't worry, I've got you. I'll be your eyes, Y/N." He says softly.
Once more, you start to feel the fluttering of butterflies in your tummy. The boy in front of you really managed to capture your heart in the short time you knew him.
" Okay. " You reply softly.
Just as promised, he leads you to his bed (which is only a few steps away.)
" You can sit down here. " He says, patting his bed as he touches your shoulder.
You carefully sit down, being mindful not to sit on the edge.
It takes a while, but eventually the two of you find a comfortable spot together, with Seojun laid on his front, holding a book in his hands, while you're curled up beside him.
Both of your hearts beat in sync as he reads to you, and you listen to the low hum of his voice.
You're grateful to have run into Seojun. He's sweet, comforting and considerate. He doesn't seem to judge you for weak even though you're blind.
It doesn't take long before Seojun realizes the soft breathing pattern he hears is actually you simply being asleep. He grins as he looks down on you, where your head slightly touches his elbow.
" Aish, this girl. I don't even like to read. " He quietly complains to himself, before glancing down at you again and smiling fondly.
He'll admit, you're cute.
Putting his book away, he turns off the small lamp besides his bed, before turning to lay on his side, facing you. He softly swipes a few stray hears from out of your face, before taking your hand in his.
That night the both of you sleep slightly more comfortable than usual.
-
You're currently stood in front of, what you guess to be, Seobom High. Seojun often goes out of his way to pick you up, so you figured you might as well do the same.
You assume your guess is correct, as you soon hear a lot of footsteps, accompanied by people (of who you guess to be your age) chatting away.
" Oh, are you lost? " Someone, a woman by the sound of it, approaches you.
" Oh, uhm, I don't think so. This is Seobom High right? " You ask, just to make sure.
" Yes, are you looking for someone here? Maybe I can help? " She asks.
" Uhm, no thank you. I don't want to be a bother. " You tell her, giving her a polite smile.
" Don't worry about it, it's quite alright. I'm Soojin by the way, who are you looking for? " She asks you kindly.
" Nice to meet you. I'm Y/N. I'm looking for-"
" Yah, Y/N, is that you? "
Just the man you're looking for.
Soojin watches with wide eyes as Han Seojun approaches the two of you, an actual smile on his face, instead of the rude smirk he usually wears.
" Seojunnie! Yes, it's me. I thought I might as well pick you up today. " You grin.
He smiles.
" That's sweet of you. C'mon, let's go. " Seojun says hurriedly suddenly, wrapping an arm around your shoulder and turning you around, walking off without sparing Soojin a glance.
Meanwhile Seojun had spotted Suho from a distance. The male seemed nowhere near interested in what Seojun was doing, but Seojun didn't want to risk catching you between them.
" Oh! Bye Soojin! Thanks for being nice. " You hurriedly call over your his shoulder.
Soojin blinked as the two of you walked off.
" Is that, Han Seojun? With a girl? Since when does he have a girlfriend? " Sooah asks as she approaches her friend, causing Soojin to shrug.
" No idea. "
The next day, Seojun is approached by Jukyung.
" I heard you've found a girlfriend. I'm happy for you. " She smiles.
Seojun knows there's no ill intention behind her words. Her words are genuine, and he's glad she's happy for him.
" Thanks. I'll never let her meet your boyfriend though. " He says, leaning his head back onto his table.
" Yahh, Suho is nice, no need to be worried. "
-
Seojun is sitting at his desk this time, eyes on yours (although you're probably not aware of it), whilst you're sitting on his bed.
" I can feel your eyes on me y'know. Is something wrong? " You ask him, now turning to face him.
He blinks, not having expected that.
" For how long have you been blind? " He asks bluntly, suddenly.
You blink.
Seojun, seemingly realizing how rude that probably sounded, tries taking his words back.
" Sorry, if you don-"
" I'm born blind. "
" Oh. "
" Don't worry. It's okay. Besides, being blind also means I don't have to worry about my looks- I often hear my cousins stress over their appearance. "
Seojun studies you for a good moment, before eventually leaning over, his fingers brushing through your hair gently as he clears your face of a few loose strands. You jump once you feel his fingers, your heart beating just a bit faster than usual.
" You wouldn't need to worry about it anyway. You're beautiful Y/N." Seojun smiles.
You blush at his words.
" Uhm, thank you I think? - Can I see you? " You ask him suddenly.
He furrows his brows.
" What? "
" I'm good at drawing. If you're okay with me touching your face, I can show you what I see- with my hands at least. " You tell him.
" I mean, sure. I don't mind as long as it's you. " He grins.
You smile widely.
" Great! Do you have a pen and paper? "
And so he finds himself sitting still as your hands gently run over his face. It's a very odd feeling, but he doesn't mind it as he watches a sketch of himself come to life.
As time passes, his mouth slowly falls open at how accurate the drawing is. It's nearly like he's staring at a picture of himself, most of his minor skin details are even shown on the paper. The only thing that's missing are his eyes, that spot remains blank. That doesn't ruin the sketch though, instead giving him a more angelic look, if he may think so himself.
" Woah. That's amazing Y/N. " He smiles as he's done.
" Thank you. You're quite handsome. "
" Of course I am, what did you expect? That I'd be bad looking? " He teases you.
You shrug.
" I don't know many people their looks, nor what most would consider pretty, but I always though you'd be , less good looking? I don't know, I'm visually not very creative. "
Seojun has not heard his heart beat quite that loud in a long time.
-
Seojun knows he's got a crush on you, and the more the two of you hang out, the stronger his feelings grow. After a bit of thinking, he decides that today is the day. Now is the time to ask you out.
He impatiently waits until the last bell rings, leaving the classroom before most have packed their bags. On his way to picking you up, he picks up some flowers. He's careful that they don't sting, and that they smell good.
After a while, he finds himself standing in front of your school. After doing some small research, he realized that your school is actually pretty close by. It's a little further from his house, but he'll spare those ten minutes.
It doesn't take long before you come out, and he's quick to approach you.
" Y/N! " Seojun greets you with a big smile.
" Hey Seojun, you sound happy. Did something good happen today? " You smile at him.
" I'm about to find out actually. You see, I like you Y/N. A lot. " He tells you bluntly, straight out with his feels.
He watches as your eyes widen, and the scared feeling of rejection is quick to creep up on him. But before he can doubt himself too much, a big smile breaks out.
" Really?! I like you too! I though that my crush was just one sided! " You say, jumping up and down before engulfing him in a big hug.
Seojun grins, receiving your hug with one arm, the other still holding the flowers.
" Definitely not. You run through my mind all day, Y/N." He says softly into your hair.
" Oh, also, I got you this. " He says as he pulls away.
" Is that what I've been smelling? " You ask, as he guides your free hand to the flowers.
" I hope so. " He blushes.
" They smell great! "
" Glad you like them. "
" Thank you Seojunnie. " You smile softly, leaning over to kiss his cheek.
The moment your lips touch his cheek, his heart skips a beat.
Yeah, he's got it bad for you.
[ A/N: My first try on a Seojun fic :D. I feel like I haven't exactly nailed down his personality yet, but at least I've made a start :], let me know what you think!]

The dark between the red robes (A Volturi coven short story pt.1)
Volterra- 2021 AD
Volterra, Italy, such a strange place with a stranger history...
I was in a trip with some students as a prize from the organisers of an art competition, they said that the peculiarity of this place might give us inspiration for future art pieces. Bright colours weren't exactly my style but it is a new experience from all point of views, art, language, atmosphere...
The streets were radiating heat as the sun reflected itself into the red robes of hundreds of people walking on the streets. I could feel that something was wrong, a weird gut feeling has been trying to push me away from this place. The red robes made everything worse, I've been having them in my dreams for months but a thing didn't fit ... I saw also dark robes of people who looked like they came from another era, I was continuously looking around somehow desperately to see those dark robes but there was no sing of them.
Later the guide stopped in front of a castle and introduced us to a gorgeous lady. She was having long wavy hair flowing gracefully on her shoulders meeting the red silk fabric of a short dress that fit her like a glove. I was mesmerized by her looks, she reminded me of Aphrodite and her god-like beauty.
She winked at me as she said "Everyone carefully follow me and stay in pairs of two, we don't want to lose any of you in the castle"
The students were nodding at her while picking small info books from the lady.
I took one too as I looked into her red eyes... I guess she wanted to fully fit with the occasion..
As we walked through the hallways of the castle , the lady told us about the architecture, statues showing the law and justice, the paintings with people who looked just like some gods... I was amazed about this place, I could live here forever just to admire this art...
As I was focusing on the art I heard the lady chuckle at the remark of a man who was wearing a black suit.
"young... And fresh too, such a rare occasion!"
"Well we hardly get them , Dem" she looked back at us and stopped while the man opened two large wood doors.
I was blinded by the beauty of this place , light falling from the roof in rays , Latin inscriptions on the walls and in front of us there were three people in dark robes ...
I knew why the feeling was bad after I heard people screaming behind me. I quickly spun around and saw the goddess lady slashing someone's neck open and drinking the blood... I screamed loudly, louder than I ever did , my lungs were searching for air but I could only scream.
I felt a cold arm touching my shoulder as I turned to see a man with long smooth black hair and with wide red eyes. He was smiling at me, a terrifying smile that could mean so many horrible things, who knew what was going into his mind...
"Welcome to the family my sweet Y/N"
He then got close to my neck and I felt a sharp pain flowing through my whole body. After he let go of me , I collapsed to the ground holding my neck gasping for air as my body moves like a fish on the ground. The pain was consuming me, I was left in a state of void, pain and numbness being everything I felt.
After hours or even days of that torture I woke up , my senses exploding, I see all details , I hear even the soft whispers of the summer breeze , my body feels more light yet I have so much energy... But my neck, the stinging sensation in it made me desperate for something but what?

So this is less kicking a hornet's nest and more flinging a dynamite stick to it, but... The Baby Ludi case from the Star Wars EU is fascinating.
And not fascinating in the story itself (earthquake destroys town, mom is presumed dead, baby is found and adopted by the Jedi, mom wasn't dead, battle for custody ensues because the baby's mind has already been opened to the Force), but actually fascinating with how effective it is, and how it perfectly exemplifies how polarizing issues work.
It was specifically written to show how the divided the Galaxy was, especially over the Jedi, just as the Clone Wars were about to break out:
Pablo Hidalgo wrote it, though idk if Lucas approved it - or even knew about it at all - since it was promotional material for AotC but still was never featured or hinted at in any capacity in the main canon.
The only thing we have on Baby Ludi are 9 holonet articles (available on archive.org, see the wookiepedia page for a list of all of them) with absolutely no indications of how objective they're even supposed to be. They are media pieces. They make us feel emotions - they sensationalize, they stir up outrage, they make us completely irrational. Just look at what's under the first holo-report:
It's just so meta - so clearly reflecting on itself as it presents us with a certain (incomplete) narrative while simultaneously exploring how incomplete narratives make people react.
I used to see people (admittedly a while ago) brandishing this one obscure-ish story that only appears in one piece of EU media as the end-all, definite proof that the Jedi were meant to be understood as kidnappers - but in doing so, those people were actually playing into the story's very purpose: showing how manipulation is done. Showing how media and news outlets work.
If the story's goal was to end the debate on whether or not the Jedi are baby thieves, then it wouldn't have been given to us in the most vague, subjective way. There are no reliable sources in the articles, only second hand retellings of nebulous events.
The people who like the Jedi (like me) will probably jump on the information that Ludi's mother was too busy reviewing the script of an upcoming movie relating her tragedy to comment on people trying to storm the Temple on her child's behalf, and later being too busy with the movie's casting to comment on Ludi being transferred to an off-planet Temple. Or that Thrynka Padaunete, the leader of a Jedi 'watchgroup' who first protested the situation, then went on to be Jovana's agent in a production that was expected to be very profitable.
The people who don't like the Jedi will focus on them moving Ludi off Coruscant, or Plo turning an entire crowd of protestors away with a powerful mind trick (by the way, not something that's actually been shown to be possible in canon, but that's not the point).
At first I tried to analyze the story like I usually approach things, by trying to understand the perspective of each party involved. While I personally couldn't see the Jedi from Lucas' story keeping the child after only one month of training (since there even is EU precedent for Mace giving a kid back to the parents because they'd changed their mind), that wasn't what this story said, so I tried to understand. Maybe it really was too dangerous. Maybe they would have let Ludi see her Mom again if not for one particular reason we weren't aware of. Maybe they knew something that I wasn't being told.
And then I flipped my perspective, and I tried to put myself in the mother's shoes, and it was really horrifying. It was gut-wrenching, and there had to be more to her than making money off a tragedy. Maybe her conspiracist agent manipulated her, playing on her grief. Maybe her saying she wanted the money to go to charity was genuine. Maybe she was actually too distraught to keep fighting, because she felt the battle was already lost, hence why she stopped commenting on the developments.
And that's when it hit me. I was trying - when I was missing basically all of the information and all of the context - to pick a side to see who felt more right.
But we don't know. We can't know. We don't have any first hand account, any actual interview of any party involved given to us. There really is next to nothing more to the story than the summary I gave. Technically - since the story is entirely fictional - the 'right' answer doesn't even exist - there is no objective truth to base an opinion on. We don't see the reasoning behind each decision, who could have influenced who and why, what could have been political and what was in good faith.
Even when we do have those things, like with the actual movies, it's still possible to endlessly debate intentions, responsibility and failings. Here, we don't have any context, any ground to build upon. So to try to create that context based on our assumptions, whether they are more favorable to one group or the other is - in a very meta way - playing into the media's polarizing effect as though we were citizens of the Republic blind to the looming war, and trying to pass judgment on issues we're badly informed on.
That's the point of the Ludi story, not whether or not the Jedi are right or wrong, or whether the mom is actually opportunistic or simply heartbroken and human.
The point of that story (which is only 'canon' because it's referenced in the current continuity's book on propaganda) is to show how people jump to assumptions, and then try to create context around this kind of stories because they're either trying to support said assumptions, or because they're aware they can't pass judgment with so little to go on from, but since they want to pass judgment they have to give themselves something to work with.
And you know why I didn't include that much info on the story itself? (Apart from the fact that making this into a proper, impeccable meta would be a hassle and this is me already procrastinating on my homework?) Because many people who read this probably had their opinion on the case set by the time they were done with the second paragraph. Because I didn't give you any context, but it hardly mattered - just like it hardly matters to us that we often read a headline and think we've got it figured out.
So again, the Ludi story is fascinating, and super effective. I was ready to make a big fool of myself by trying to analyze the facts, when I didn't have them, when they didn't even exist.
Damn, that's the kind of reflection on perspectives and narratives and politics that Star Wars can do right!
ps: Lucas' Jedi were not child thieves in the movies or TCW, that's a hill I will die on. Here though? It is not the point. If anyone tries to use this post to argue that the Jedi were child kidnappers OR that they were right in the Ludi case - you missed the point.

Yo! I am the author for the Original the Character, "Rurik Gencherov" that showed up in the last Ferry Vocaloid song Comfort Zone, my buddy @zovasoda made a little post on her character so I decided to lay some doodles and lay some of his info!
(that's him right there, picture came from the @zone-files blog!)
Here's the doodles
RT-001-207's Log:
RT-001-207 is a "child of the zone" also called a "mutant" throughout personnel and common folk, a male human child born with oculocutaneous albinism pigmentation and the ability to read minds from living beings who have a sense of self.
After arriving in the facility at a relatively young age having just caused his biological parents to terminate their relationship over their child's mind reading shenanigans, RT-001-207 is a highly intelligent young man with a cold attitude and clever logician mind, being picked up due to his incredibly useful power, to help the facility in exchange of rewards and an average lab rat life.
His deal is Mind Reading, while reading thoughts his breathing and vision start to get some issues, if he reads too much people in one sitting, he can have trouble with catching his breath afterwards as if he was literally "drowning in thoughts" anyways, you could see why, gets kinda noisy... Also if he would be punched in the gut or suffer any kind of emotional impact during this action he would temporarily lose some of his senses (as if he was going blind.)
His main use in the facility is getting answers out of people and secrets they don't wanna give out even when asked politely.
More PaFL stuff,
On the topic of Parties are For Losers I'll lay here a little crappy fandub made by me and some friends while I can hook some of that sweet sweet clout:

All hail Ferry

Chapter 1 of Stillness || yokai hunter!Suna x fem!kitsune!reader || wc: 3.3k || 🦊
Synopsis: Arrival of an unexpected visitor promises your coming days to be interesting...
Genre: supernatural!au, enemies to lovers, angst & fluff, eventual smut
Warnings: reader is a nuisance, fire, mentions of blood
a/n: I'm no expert on Japanese mythology. I did my research but also took creative liberties so please keep in mind the information on yokai in this fic is lacking. Here are some links with basic info on yokai appearing in this series.
as always feedback is greatly appreciated and if you want to be tagged let me know!
A streak of the new highway is planned to cut through your favourite part of the forest, the one you walk through when heading east to the river kappas inhabit. First trees have already fallen. You caress the bark of the mighty maple that once touched the sky and now lays at your feet, cut and bleeding from the wounds humans inflicted. You still remember when it was a sprout pushing roots into earth and hungrily reaching for the sun rays. Half a century later you fell asleep under its shade and hid in his branches from those chasing you. Why is this how you say goodbye?
Forest spirits peek out of their hiding places, their terrified chimes fill the air. They cling to you, your clothes, your tails. Some you have to convince to leave the branches of the fallen trees, the hollows in their barks that have offered them sanctuary for so many long years. They cry in pain.
And pain has a way of turning into anger.
It's searing and all consuming, spreading through your body as bright blue flames shoot from your hands. They burn all standing in their path. Equipment of workers, their machines and their boxes of metal go up in flames. Truck standing by the fence catches on fire. You transform back into your fox form, running away as it explodes with a bang echoing through the night.
It's a lonely existence, being a kitsune. With years most of your kind have hidden in the forest, many have moved to cities living together with humans, pretending to be them. As if they could ever be. You hold a bit of pity for them but mostly you just don't understand. Why do they go where humans live? Why do they want to live as humans live? Humans are interesting and fun to observe, that much you never denied, but they are also cruel and blind and they drove so many of your kind away. Empty lairs is all they leave behind.
You water the flowers around the temple as you do every morning before heading to bed. From your pocket a forest spirit you've rescued from one of the fallen trees peeks out. Morning sun makes it blink and rattle in confusion. None of your words reassure it so you leave the matter be. It needs time. Time to breathe and time to heal. As you pull out some weeds from between the cobble stones it watches and chimes, sorrowfully.
“I can't say.“ Weeds in your hands catch aflame and whither. You lay them down on the black soil. “We will find you a nicer home. There is a beautiful cherry blossom tree growing by the entrance. Would you like that?“ It gives a soft chime. “We can have a look at it later, alright? Careful!“ you catch it on your outstretched palm. “Stay with me, I'm almost finished with my duties. Do you have a name? Ah I see,“ you nod when it chimes. “How about I call you Koda? Would you like that? Now make sure not to fall off again, alright?“ You help it climb on your shoulder.
Koda turns it's head in all directions taking in the sight. It's probably its first time seeing anything but endless sky and branches. Not that the temple is anything special. It's small, with only two wooden buildings in need of repair and pond you hold particularly dear. No ducks live near it. You brought a pair once in hopes they'd have ducklings to keep you company but sadly before a month passed they became dinner to passing yokai. Ever since the only ducks at the temple are the ones on the edges of the roof.
Surrounding trees grow closely together, casting long shadows over the roofs and the small yard. In their shade a steep staircase leads towards the entrance of the temple. Every morning and every evening you sweep the leaves from the stairs, picking up and keeping the ones you find particularly beautiful. The golden, the deep crimson, and bright green, ones sprouting first when spring arrives, are your favourite. Moss has overgrown most of the steps. Koda chimes for you to put it on it and it sits on the soft green blanket seeming calm for the first time. Its home was taken but what said it couldn't make a new one here, with you? The temple has been your home for as long as you can remember and you doubt you'll ever know any other.
Your new friend still watches in amazement (At least you think it's amazement. Even you find spirits' expressions hard to read) and when you return to check on offerings you consider waking Chochin to help you reassure it. After a short consideration you decide against the idea. The stillness of the early morning is your favourite part of the day after all and you'll hear from your possessed lantern before noon rolls around anyway. Besides Chochin would only scare already rattled Koda. You'd like to spare the spirit further shocks, at least for a while. Luckily most days the temple grounds stand deserted. With each passing year less and less humans come to pay their respect to Inari. Less and less fields are to be found in the area so it's no wonder they forget how much depends on good harvest. They take it for granted and they forget. If centuries have thought you anything is that humans are incredibly good at forgetting.
You're just about to sweep the two fox statues by the entrance when you catch the sound of approaching steps. One person. Must be an early riser. You make your tails disappear and straighten the sleeves of your hoodie before instructing Koda to hide.
A young man steps through the tori gate. He's tall and lanky, a beanpole with dark hair. Most people pant and heave for air when reaching the top. He looks like he just took a pleasant stroll in the park. He takes in his surroundings then walks over to you. “Good morning,“ he greets with a polite smile that doesn't quite reach his slanted eyes.
There's an aura surrounding him. You can tell he's the kind of man people take a second glance at when passing him by. If you asked them why they'd give you a confused look. “I, I have no idea,“ they'd answer, “There was... something.“ If you asked them an hour later they'd be even more confused because they have already forgotten about him. But he is the kind of a man who wants to be forgotten. How else would he hunt yokai in peace?
“Morning,“ you return the pleasantries. Koda in your pockets shivers.
“I'd like to pay my respects. Can I offer alone or-?“ If he's embarrassed by being unsure of how to proceed you can't tell it from his face. You show him to the temple and excuse yourself, aware of how his eyes follow you as you walk across the small courtyard. You don't want him here. But you can't deny him entry.
He doesn't scare you. He's as green as sprouting grass, too young to have any real experience. He probably only recently accepted yokai are real and not just a folktale used to scare children. You might be the first he'd ever meet. At least one that isn't harmless. Still there is something about his calm voice and bored expression that keeps you alerted.
Koda peeks out of your pocket and chimes, worriedly. “We'll see,“ you murmur in response and head over to the pond. It's so empty. Should you get some koi fish? Or would they all too soon become dinner too? Many of those yokai who remain are growing hungrier. Wilder. Hearing approaching footsteps you wonder if that is what brought Mr Witch to your humble abode.
“I've heard there's a kitsune living around here.“
You straighten and turn to face the unwelcome visitor. Was someone else in your shoes they'd act smart and deny their nature. But you can tell he isn't asking. He's just confirming what he already knows. “There is.“
Visibly taken aback he hesitates. “Is it you?“
“I am.“ You don't like his eyes. They are too fox-like.
He bows politely. “I'm Suna Rintarou.“
“Good for you.“
He ignores the poison in your voice. “News of someone destroying the construction site has reached Inarizaki Clan.“ Ah, that explains the lack of fear. If he's here with the backing of a clan naturally he'd feel secure enough to directly challenge you. “I was sent to let the ones responsible know their efforts are meaningless. The road will be built no matter what you- What they do.“
“Ask? Your kind doesn't ask.“
“This might be the one for history books then.“ His face irks you. There's no fear, no nerves showing, no twitch of his mouth or fingers to betray what he's thinking. Humans are as easy to read as open books but the young man in front of you is a blank sheet of paper.
“Leave,“ is all you answer.
To your surprise he bows and obeys. Watching him leave you think he should straighten up.
As the sun rises higher you head to bed, newcomer so heavy on your mind he haunts your dreams. The sole presence of a yokai hunter is something to be worried about. First one comes, then a second, next your kind is being chased away. The only reason you're still here is because the humans can't seem to figure out a way to chase you away for good. Not that they haven't tried. If only they knew worst things live deep in the woods.
When evening falls you sweep the stairs and leave still rattled Koda besides Chochin who disapprovingly rolls it's one eye at you.
The town is only a short run away. It's small, at least you think so since there aren't many you've visited in your relatively short life. You know every nook and cranny, you know which tombstones are nekomata's favourite, you know which of the old street cats will soon join them. They can be a handful but they're the closest thing to friends you have. You pass the old house where teenagers like to gather. Its cellar has been home to keukegen for years now. You catch a glimpse of a few leaving. No doubt the fault of that damn visitor.
The place he's staying at is easy to find. How careless of him. All you have to do is follow the magic of protective charms scattered across the town back to its source. They're sloppy. Almost as if a child made them. But some of them are particularly well made. Work of another clan member perhaps?
You hide in the bushes of the garden surrounding a small house. Mr Witch left the sliding door open. Even in the garden you smell herbs meant to ward away evil spirits. He's sitting on the floor and watching a curious looking thin screen similar to ones you've seen down at the train station. He seems disinterested. When he stands up and leaves the room you silently creep closer to peek inside. The smell of herbs is stronger here. You don't find it unpleasant though many of your yokai friends would disagree.
On the screen you see a map of the town. More maps lay on the low table. Some have scribbles you can't quite read, arrows, and question marks. You hear him returning and scurry back in the safe embrace of darkness and bushes. He sits back down to continue his work, not noticing you were in his home. You lean your head on your paws and watch.
Following Suna around becomes a daily routine. You sweep the stairs in the morning and water the flowers then run the fastest your legs can carry you to the town. Luckily for you he likes sleeping in. His days are uneventful. Boring to be honest. He eats breakfast. Goes to town. Looks at historical monuments downtown. Sits on the only bench in the park and eats ice cream. Heads to library. From time to time he visits the construction site to inquire if there have been any more incidents. There were a few but none of them were your doing. Mr Witch doesn't actually think you're the only one enraged by the new road, does he? Honestly as much as you detest it you're also a little relieved humans haven't decided to build over the northern part of the forest. That would be a lot more troublesome.
You follow on a safe distance as he inspects the surrounding trees, no doubt to chase away the remaining forest spirits. For a very long time he inspects some footprints. You carefully step closer trying to see what caught his attention. Suddenly he stands up and continues on his way. As you follow you glance at the ground. Ah, of course.
He heads back to town after that, returns home and you return to your spot in the bushes. Sun hasn't set yet, the day is still warm so he brings a low table out on the porch and pours two glasses of dark bubbly liquid.
“Are you going to keep hiding or will you join me for a drink? I have some tofu I can fry if you want. Kitsune like it, right?“ he asks without looking in your direction.
Crap. Well, no point in trying to be sneaky anymore. You step out, head raised high and your tails gracefully swaying with each step. A silver gem radiating light balances on the middle one. Once you reach porch you shapeshift to a human and hide the gem from Suna's eyes. You don't bother hiding the tails though and you take a sit across from him, carefully eyeing and sniffing the contents of the glass.
“Only three tails?“
“Are you judging my age?“
“Sorry. I didn't mean to be rude.“ That's not what his face says. “Thank you for leaving the construction site be,“ he chats on seemingly unbothered by your icy glare. “You must've noticed those footprints too, right? Have any idea where I might find the owner?“
“That sounds like your job Mr Witch.“
“It's Suna actually.“ He keeps talking like you're old acquaintances and it's making your blood boil. “Can I ask for your name? Don't want to call you Miss Kitsune.“
“Why are you here?“
Suna gulps down half of his drink before answering. “To make sure construction continues without any accidents. You seem to think yourself some kind of a yokai protector. Then I'm a protector of humans.“
You bark a laugh. “As if your kind needs protecting.“
“All the people getting sick from those keukegen would disagree.“
“Sounds like it's their fault for not staying away from infested places,“ you retort.
“Then one easy fix would be getting rid of those infested places.“
“An undertaking you have no doubt already started.“
“I'm just doing my job.“
“You can't chase them away for long you know. Your kind has tried before. They always come back.“
You've hoped your words would elicit a response from him. Anything. A trace of frustration, an arrogant grin. Suna pours himself another glass. “Do you want some ice?“
“What I would very much like is for you to leave.“
A grin flashes over his face. “Get used to my presence because I won't go away for a very long time.“
So this is how he wants to play. He isn't the tiniest bit alerted when you abruptly stand up. “We'll see.“
Your daily routine continues. The only difference is you no longer care to hide. Wherever Suna goes you're not far behind. He wants to stay, play the protector of humans, does he? Pathetic. He doesn't seem to be bothered by you following him around. Just slightly unimpressed. It makes you want to set his pants on fire. Just to get a reaction. Just to see his expression change.
“How long do you plan on following me?“
“Who says I'm following you? World doesn't revolve around you Mr Witch. Maybe I just wanted to buy myself some mochi. Have you considered that?“ You pretend to be interested in melons on the shelf. “Aren't these kind of expensive?“
Suna ignores your question. “I'm grocery shopping. There are no yokai here. And I haven't even harmed anyone.“
“Yet. Such a short word. Yet. Somebody has to keep an eye on your nasty tricks.“ You peek into his shopping cart. “Instant ramen and crab chips? Even I know humans need some you know,“ you wave your hand trying to remember what it's called but the word is buried too deep in your memory, “healthy food!“ you say instead and place the most expensive melon in the cart. “Like fruit for example.“
“Put it back.“
“It's healthy.“
“It's expensive.“
“I got money.“ You pull a bundle of bank notes from your pocket.
He puts the melon back on the shelf and grabs the cart with more force than necessary. You hum contently before putting the money in your pocket where it changes back to leaves you picked up last autumn.
The sheer number of different products on the shelves amazes you. And also makes you a little sad. All the offering humans bring to the temple are just rice and tofu and sometimes curry. Not that you don't like rice and tofu but why can't they bring one of all these colourful sweets? Or the chips Suna just put in the cart. Would he notice if one of the bags disappeared?
Walking past the vegetable stand you grab three cucumber packages and plop them down in his cart. You notice he added a bag of brown rice to it.
“Really? Three packages?“ he asks.
“They're a gift for kappas up the stream,“ you smile, innocently.
“Buy them yourself. You got money, don't you?”
“Why, would you like some? What's the matter Mr Witch, job doesn't pay well? Maybe you should consider a career that doesn't rely on destroying our lives.“
“Maybe you should live a life that doesn't harm others.“
You grin, satisfied. And so facade begins to crumble. A loud cough distracts you from throwing back another insult. An older man gives the two of you a disapproving look before returning to reading labels.
Suna grabs the cart and continues his way to the next item on the crumpled shopping list. You trail behind looking like a lost puppy peeking from behind him to see what the next item on the list is, adding new items to the cart Suna immediately puts back in their place. Even by the register you add one more package of chewing gum to the pile.
“At least take one with a fruity flavour,“ says Suna so you grab two more packages with watermelon on them. You think you see his eye twitch though it might be just your imagination. While he puts the groceries in a bag you snatch a chocolate bar from the nearest shelf, then follow him outside to take the cucumbers from the bag he's holding.
“You've been quite busy yesterday,“ you remark as you walk down the street.
“Since you followed me around the entire time I take it you weren't.“ He outstretches his hand. “Your stuff was 700 yen. Pay up.“
You give him a crumbled wrapper.
“Any particular reason you're interested in the old Nishikawa house?“ you ask, continuing to smile innocently when Suna glares at you and puts the wrapper in his pocket.
“I thought you were the local expert on all things paranormal in this town. I'll let you guess twice.“ He peels the sticker off the bananas and sticks it on your forehead. “See you around Miss Kitsune.“

So you know what it’s wednesday you’re getting an infodump on Desden’s blindness.
Beware. I’m a biologist. I’m a nerd. And I’m a teacher. You know what’s coming, right ?
I just reblogged an extremely interesting and great post about writing blind characters that I advise you to go and read now (I haven't finished yet) because it's just full of info and contrary to usual posts like that it's not guilt tripping or anything. I love this post and OP for this. However I've noticed there's a bunch of advices I don't follow myself and I felt like I could expand and why and how I think it's not a bad thing. Here's the first one : don’t make your character blind through an accident. Because drama.
So yeah. Desden lost his sight due to some kind of accident. Which is thoroughly described by a mysterious bystander’s flashback in chap.3. So that’s not a spoiler. But how can a brick through the head make you blind ?
Brain. Brains are evil. You know I got a PhD in biology : I am sad to admit I couldn’t go through with my love of neurology because it was competing with my love for bacteria and parasites that can kill you and happily live everywhere. Life’s though. No neuro for me, welcome to viral ecology (viruses are obligatory parasites, sue me). But not only can’t I help being a nerd... I have an uncle in my family who lost part of his vision from a brain haematoma (not due to trauma, but the result and how it works is the same). Who’s also a nerd. (And a PhD in physics cause like that’s what nerds do, right ?) And he explained in details how he lost his vision (and gained back some of it over time) to us.
If you cut blood supply to parts of the brain for long enough, this part will die. Logic. Head trauma can do that and more. So, what happened is that Desden’s visual cortex got cut from blood supply for a relatively long amount of time (he can thank the extremely cold weather of the day it happened, which makes your body turn into “low survival mode”, when the “accident” happened for 1) being still alive and 2) not losing more than most of his sight, some balance, and a bunch of memories). But the brain is a funny little thing and some times it does stuff (not going into the haematoma part, I’m not a doc, it’s long and not very relevant, but it has to be taken into account cause it’s what can make part of the lost sight reappear). So Desden was totally blind for a while, then his brain managed to get some of his sight back. Very little.
But what and how does he see ?
See, the brain is constructed so that the visual cortex’s position reflects the visual field you have, except in reverse. Sorry. I’m a teacher. I’m going to add a schema. But in French because I actually work with this (well. Nope. They changed the program but I have old program lessons lying around just in case) and I’m lazy today. Just look at the pretty colours. It shows you what I just explained very badly because I’m used to use schemas, but here’s what you need to understand.
SOOOO. Basically make most of the colour disappear except for a very small part of blue at the far right of the visual cortex. Meaning that in the end, what Desden can see is an extremely reduced part of peripheral vision. Try to fix your eyes on a point in front of you and describe what is at the far corner of your left eye. Good luck. (and let me tell you I know I have extremely good peripheral vision myself, it’s still composed by what your brain KNOWS is around. From seeing it with the other parts of your field of vision. Because your brain is constantly MAKING UP what you’re seeing from a lot of information including past ones when you didn’t even think about it but your eyes brushed that part. Your senses are fucked up. Deal with it. Your brain is playing tricks on you right now.)
This is why, btw, he’s often described tilting his head on the right. He doesn’t have much control on his eye movement so he tries to get some info on people (mostly light and colours but since his visual memory is fucked up, it’s not very useful)
His eyes move. He just doesn’t really control them. In fact they’re often if not constantly moving because head trauma is often linked to the apparition of a nystagmus, which is a rapid eye movement to the side or up and down - my brother has that, vertical, did you know it existed ? well I do. A friend of my parents has a horizontal one that is a lot more visible. Constantly. She’s not blind, her brain compensates this. Brains are both evil and awesome. Deal with it.
Oh and his eyes are perfectly normal. Even quite pretty, as he describes them himself. He still wears sunglasses because his brain doesn’t like strong light which give him migraines, because it has a hard time processing visual info.
His eyes also work perfectly (well as perfectly as they did before his accident, which is okay but a little nearsighted) which leads to the only thing that sounds like a superpower that isn’t one : blindsight. If you research it you’ll learn about people who can do absolutely crazy things like catch stuff that’s thrown at them or avoid most obstacles on a path while being totally blind, because BRAINS, AGAIN. Your brain doesn’t only process visual cues through the visual cortex; there’s a slight part in the “primitive brain” or “lizard brain” that does, too. So basically Desden’s body can see stuff but he’s not aware of it consciously. He’s NOT using it and he’s NOT as good as the people I cited above. But for example he has insights he souldn’t have on people’s moods, because his lizard brain picks their faces up. Not always, and it’s often more when someone’s in a VERY bad mood that SHOWS. And since he’s not aware of it he takes that as hints from his other senses. It’s NOT compensating for his blindness - if anything, it’s a silly trick. BUT I AM A NERD, REMEMBER ?
Anyway. Now you know. Desden still lost his vision through an accident which, as said in the reference post i’m refering to (haha) would be bad if it was used for drama but, in fact, I try to avoid most of it because apart from the accident, which is witnessed by someone else who is important to the later plot, nothing from Desden’s life before or after it is described in details. My novel starts 9 years after the accident. He’s got time to get used to being blind.
*I* know everything that happened in his life, or most of the important things anyway, that lead to the opening of the book, but you will only get scraps of it because it’s not what’s relevant. It’s important for the construction of the character, but what I want to show here is not Desden’s journey through being used to being blind. It’s his journey through accepting his family heritage, which has nothing to do with being blind, and sharing it with the rest of his family while it stayed hidden to them until then because the person who kept this before him was an arsehole. There are a lot of plot points that are linked to Desden’s blindness, including said arsehole arseholery (I be good with words), but it’s not the point of the book.
Y’all know I’m a Daredevil fan. That’s where I got the idea of a blind character (not only), but now erase that from your mind. Desden doesn’t have any superpower that compensate his blindness. He’s got pretty good hearing because he’s used to use it a lot more than when he was sighted. It’s not better. He loves music, but he’s absolutely tone deaf so forget the blind piano tuner/musician cliché (this is a joke in one of my AUs, in fact)(explanation : in France, which is the country I research for because I’m French and my story takes place in France, the most prominent school for the blind used to primarily teach people to become piano tuners during the 20th century). He’s got a very good nose, but that’s just how it is, and since I’m using my own experience of rediscovering my sense of smell after years of living with smoking people (don’t smoke) (yeah, even you, Desden) I know it’s not superhuman. In fact my own nose is pretty shitty compared to my mom’s. Who is a fucking hunting hound. Anwyay I digress.
Desden often chases any comment that restrict him to being “the blind guy” by stating stuff he does or likes to do, like “I’m also a good tarot player but no one ever mentions that” or “my brownies are the best ones and I don’t even need to add pot to it”. This is how he feels about it. He’s blind. It’s okay, it’s part of him. But it’s not his sole characteristic.
I think I’m done here. I haven’t touched on other people’s reaction to him that much, and if you’re interested you can ask questions. Basically remember he’s a 1,98m guy, with broad shoulders, and that’s the first thing you see from him. Also there’s his guide dog Kalinka.
Lot more things to talk about, not that much time. So if you’re interested in knowing more, poke me, and I might write more about my character.
Lastly and more importantly : if you see things that you can correct in this post, please do so. As I said, I’m a nerd, but I’m not a neurologist. I’m going the vulgarized version. And I like to be taught things. So if you see mistakes, tell me.
Peace !

I wish you would write a fic where an imposter Rai bully M21 and M21 don't know what to do until Frankentein figures it out and kick the imposter out of his house. P.S. Real Rai was gone for a walk and got lost.
I mighthave gotten a tiny bit overly excited with this idea, but it was ton of fun! Thanks for it, btw ;) Maybe not pushing all the buttons I wanted in all theways I really wanted to, but SOMETHING was done and I had fun :x
Here’s the Send me an anonymous ask completing thesentence “I wish you would write a fic where…” (if you want to reblog too)post and BTW I’m all about crazy cracky shippings (and serious ones too),multishipping is love, poly is love, SHIPPING IS FUN AF anyway: gen, ships, funny, sad, anything, if you’re in the mood hit me up and let’s pray thatsomething good comes of it!
(dear sweetfreaking LORD it took me 3 hours to do this??? I let a 3 hour “wooden sailingship on sea ambience” playing and it’s crazy to see I was done by the end ofthe audio)
The housewas quiet and every step was terrible loud as M-21 run to Frankenstein’s officeand searched around for the files he’d asked for. The man couldn’t help butscoff at his situation, having to leave school in the middle of the day tofetch some paper or another for his boss. In this kind of situation Tao wouldbe more efficient, always coming into the spacious and well organized room toshow things to Frankenstein or talk about his new ideas for the school’ssecurity system, yet somehow M-21 got the task.
“Heprobably just picked the one of us that was closer…”
He keptmuttering while pilling the color coded files and making sure nothing wasmissing before heading out, sure that if he took too long with the easy “mission”he’d have to endure the blond’s witty comments. Joy.
With hismind fully focused on the fastest routes he could take from the house to schoolM-21 had to do a double take of which he saw standing in the middle of the kitchenarea.
“What areyou doing here?”
M-21 frownedand waited for an answer as Raizel slowly turned to face him, still in hisuniform and not showing any urgency in his expression or movements, there was howeversome tension in his shoulders that put M-21 in high alert. He was ready toshower the other with questions when Raizel finally spoken, colder than he everheard before.
“What are you doing here?”
Blinking inconfusion M-21 lifted the pile of papers he still had in hands.
“Frankensteinasked me to get him some files.”
“Of coursehe did.”
Raizel keptwalking slowly around M-21 and the modified human was now looking at the filesFrankenstein wanted. Some accountability info and resumes for new staff, nothing out of the ordinary, so why wasRaizel acting so strangely about it?
Years oftraining and (not so healthy) paranoia made sure he wouldn’t fully take his focusfrom the other person in the room, even while puzzled about what was going on,so M-21 wasn’t surprised when he felt Raizel right behind him, stepping a bittoo close to comfort before whispering right next to his ear.
“Sometimeshe has to get creative to get rid of you.”
That madehim jump, put a good distance between himself and Raizel, the man was as calmand composed as always but his red eyes where ice cold and his words wheresharp. M-21 lifted the bundle of papers in front of himself, the stupid thingwouldn’t be of any use as a shield if the noblesse decided to go against him, nothing could shield someone from thenoblesse, but those where the things he was asked to fetch, they could besomewhat important to Frankenstein. Raizel wouldn’t destroy something importantfor Frankenstein, right?
“You are ahandful, always getting yourself in trouble and bringing it right back at us.More trouble than you’re worth of.”
Raizelspoke slowly, not even deeming it worth to look at him while saying those words, that worked just fine for M-21 if there was a risk of getting paralyzed by hisred eyes. He just looked bored whiletaking small steps in his direction and M-21 stood as still as possible, letting his eyes run all around the room, asking himself how to get away fromthat one insanely powerful being that seemed to be judging his value and not liking what he was seeing.
“We did so much for you and you keep bringingyour fights to this house.”
Shit. He was getting closer and backing off wouldput him against a wall eventually. Maybe then he could make a run for a door, but that wouldn’t help if Raizel where too close, towering over him and readyto… Whatever the hell he wanted to do with a troublesome unworthy waste of space.
One stepcloser, one step back, M-21 knew he was faster but Raizel was faster, andstronger, and even if he had a fighting chance he’d have to be ready to faceFrankenstein right after. Would Frankenstein be outside, waiting to finish himin case he attempt to run? Had everything been planned just so that they couldget him alone and finish him?
He wasalready dead but Raizel wasn’t done talking.
“How manytimes we fought and bleed because of you? You don’t deserve what we did foryou.”
Thenoblesse jumped and M-21 was sure he was already using his influence because hecouldn’t move, a slap at his hands made all the papers he hold fly to the sideand for a second the fair haired man thought about the mess they were making, how disappointed Frankenstein would be, then there was a hand at his chest andblazing red eyes so close to his own grey ones he could feel the other’sbreathing against his face.
“You don’tdeserve that heart.”
M-21 couldn’tmove, only half catching how Raizel’s face contorted in a ugly smile he neverseen on the other’s face or how he had one of their big kitchen knives in hisother hand, lifted high above their heads. Everything happened in the longestsecond of his life, feeling his muscles tense and discovering he could in factmove, there was no mind control going on, he watched as a dozen black tendrilscame from behind himself and impaled Raizel all over his body, the impact throwinghim backward while he did his best to pull and stab his target before goingdown.
A hand grabbedthe back of M-21’s suit and pulled him from the other’s hold, letting him watchthe knife go past dangerously close to his face as the other missed and wasshoved back.
“Coming tomy house and using my master’s face, so disrespectful.”
Frankensteinlet go of M-21 and stepped around him, letting the impostor free from DarkSpear long enough to get up and face him properly. The once wearing Raizel’sface was laughing in a hysterical way, then talking in a voice that didn’tmatch the face.
“How couldyou hit this beautiful face of mine? Never mind, I’ll pardon you if you let metake what I came to collect.”
Theimpostor still had the knife and didn’t seem to care for the many poisonousblack injuries he now had, the idiot probably had never been fully briefed onwhat he’d face in this place or he was crazy enough to think he had a fightingchance against Frankenstein. M-21 honestly didn’t care whichever was theanswer, the fucker made a mess of thefiles he had to take to school.
Frankensteinalmost didn’t get a chance to rile the guy, maybe he wasn’t in the mood withthe other using his master’s face, or he was that easy of an adversary. Therewas some damage done to the room, black holes in the walls and broken glass butat least Dark Spear had been especially neat on its consumption of an enemy.
A sideglance to the nearest clock showed M-21 that if they were quick with thecleanup they could make it back to school before the end of the work day.
“This isinfuriating.”
Or not, if Frankenstein felt like fuming and passingaround the room. He’d probably push the cleaning at him at this rate. M-21 tooka deep breath and turned to collect the papers and file cases messily pilled atthe floor, he didn’t know enough of each of them to properly put them backtogether, but pilling it all at the coffee table seemed better than lettingthen in the floor.
Turningaround he saw how Frankenstein had stopped and was looking seriously at him. Itfelt like an awful déjà vu.
“Yourfiles.”
“My files.Of course. Thank you, M-21.”
The mantook a few large steps to the table and M-21 hold himself in place, refusing toflinch at his sudden move, looking at anywhere but the blond. Frankensteinlooked through the pile for a few seconds before heavily sighing and looking straightto M-21.
“I’m sorryI took so long. As soon as we got the alert there was an intruder in the houseTao and Takeo where ready to come, but I choose to let then taking care of theschool. I was the reason you werehere alone, after all.”
Frankensteinwas kind enough to turn away, taking his time to look at his messy living roomand let M-21 recompose himself. Everything felt like a strange dream, suddenly he’s taking care ofa simples errand and then Not Raizel is running at him with a knife.
M-21 sitdown on the couch. Frankenstein gave him a quick but pleased look.
“Oh, finally. I was about to shove you at achair. You’ll have to tell me what that guy told you.”
“Hm.Nothing interesting.”
“I’m in themood to hear some bullshit. Amuse me.”
Frankensteinpicks up his cellphone on the third ring.
“Boss! What’shappening? Dark Spear fried the living room’s cameras and I’m blind over here!”
Tao hadbeen biting at his nails since Frankenstein left him and Takeo to guard theschool, watching the house’s security system feed where M-21 was being corneredby Raizel-nim’s Evil Twin while Takeo collected Seira, Regis and the realRaizel to make them aware of what was going on in their house.
Everyonearrived at the principal’s office right when Creepy Not-Raizel was about tostab M-21, then Dark Spear was all over the place and the system went down.Seira had to grab Regis by the back of his collar when he tried to bolt to thedoor. Tao and Takeo felt just like him, and they knew Seira and Raizel did too,but they couldn’t suddenly leave at any given second and it was Frankenstein dealing with whateverwas going on at their house.
The nextlogic conclusion (after a good minute or so of arguing and convincing themselvesthere was no need to run and M-21) was to try and call Frankenstein’scellphone.
“It’s atragedy…”
Frankensteinnever sounded so desolated, evenRaizel eyes were a little wider than before. Everyone held their breaths andTao felt how weak his voice was in his next words.
“B-Boss? IsM-21-”
“The wallswe just painted are a mess. The paint Miss Seira chose so carefully… And it wasexpensive, too. M-21 agrees with me, he also liked that color.”
Raizelaverted his eyes while everyone else traded looks that communicated clearly “Frankensteinis truly a monster!”
Extra:
“Ahjussi! We heard you fought a burglar yesterday!”
M-21 wassurrounded by the kids, their worried faces with big shinny eyes made himnervous. He threw a side glance at Tao, who smiled and blew him a kiss from faraway. Bastard.
“Shouldn’tyou be resting today? Tao-hyung told us it was a pretty intense fight! Are youall right?”
“Uhg… I’mfine.”
“D-Don’tlie to spare our feeling, ahjussi! We care about you! We wouldn’t know what todo if something happened to you…”
M-21 pattedYuna’s head in an attempt to comfort her. He didn’t know what to do with abunch of kids worried about him, much less with one of them looking ready to cry.
“I’m fine.Director Lee helped.”
The fourkids turned to look at their director crowded by students, smiling and wavingfriendly at them. Suyi was the first one to turn back to M-21, a curiousexpression in her face.
“What didhe do? Smiled so brightly the burglar was blinded and you were able to subduehim?”
The threeother kids turned all to Suyi and after a second of consideration all fo themagreed that was obviously what happened. M-21 used their distraction to runaway retreat.
[Notes: mygreat regret is that I didn’t just straight up wrote “M-21 is shook” or justmade him say “I’M SHOOK” but M-21 IS SHOOK, OK? Frankenstein is father of theyear, he felt really bad for accidentally sending M-21 to face that disrespectfulguy who stole master’s beautiful face!!! Oh yeah, the guy didn’t had any mental power to paralyze M-21, he was just panicked enoughabout FRICKING “NOBLESSE” WANTING TO KILL HIM to feel like he was in fact paralyzed, just wanted to point this more clearly here.
Also, sorryfor changing some events, only now I’m thinking about “what if the bullyingwent on for DAYS before someone figured everything out?” that is…. A greatidea!!!! But how to work with it????? To tell the truth, now that I think aboutthat guy using Raizel’s face on the house…. What… What the f are you doing thereat that time? Omg lol let me sit here and point all the plot holes in my ownfic! Idk maybe he had a way to track M-21 and saw he was moving to be alone atthe house, that makes sense! (maybe?)
ANYWAY THAT WASFUN, GUYS.]
