Passover 2024

Ok, I'm going to use this week to get in the mode of high veggies + fruits so I can get a bit leaner. I'd also like to join a gym when we get back to NY that has childcare.

Plant Based Passover Menu:

Cauliflower, potato, + leek soup

Garlic potatoes

homemade granola (no oats or peanuts) with yogurt

smoothies

raspberry, chocolate, almond, and sea salt clusters

almond flour crackers

french fries

sweet potato + carrot soup

almond crusted veggie nuggets

shepherds pie

Grief is so fucking wild. It sinks into your muscles, forces itself to be felt. It steals your appetite, floods your brain with cortisol. It makes you so, so tired.

If someone you know is grieving, telling them "just let me know what I can do" means nothing. They can't. They don't know. And the small things are too embarrassing to ask for.

Bring them a cheese platter. Pre-Cut fruit. Peanut butter pretzels. Protein shakes (like slimfast) Food that requires no prep and does not create dishes.

Do the dishes. Take out the trash. Sweep the floor. Vacuum the carpet. They won't ask you to do this, but it will help.

A bottle of acetaminophen honestly might help more than flowers. Grief really can cause muscle aches.

Always wants to cuddle you so bad when he’s sleeping that he will squash you and/or push you out of bed.

Buys your favorite snacks… for a price. Or is it… “for Price?” You’re never sure.

Offers to make you grilled cheese but then burns it because he’s too busy flirting with you.

Insists on giving you mani-pedis, only they’re so very messy. You assure him that they look great.

so in case you didn’t know, the mods, saph and katya, live together (tumblr mutuals turned roommates you know) and katya also has a partner named fennec. and tonight, we are all darkening the door of our not so local cracker barrel.

by that i mean we’re driving several hours to bum fuck nowhere west virginia. we do not live anywhere near west virginia.

you might be wondering, oh saph, does this mean you’re third wheeling?

well technically speaking yes. but the last time we went to this cracker barrel fennec and i made out in the gift shop because katya blasted american pie on loop in the car and we threatened to do so if katya didn’t turn it off but katya didn’t believe we would do it so he kept it on. and then we made out in the gift shop. in bum fuck nowhere. west virginia. but i digress.

in any case. katya is not playing american pie tonight. but we have been graced by “05 cow planet” by billy j kramer and also “dog train” by blues traveler.
