Hello fans of Re: Dracula who were introduced to fiction podcasts through the updates from our good friend Jonathan Harker! Now that the story's over (sob!), would you like some recommendations for some other audio dramas that you might enjoy, made by some of the folks who worked on the podcast?

Jonathan Sims, who played our local phonograph enthusiast, is the writer of the hugely popular horror podcast, The Magnus Archives. The Head Archivist of the Magnus Institute records statements made by members of the public, detailing strange encounters with the supernatural. What soon becomes clear is that these statements do not describe separate and unrelated events, and a bigger and horrific picture begins to emerge. Also appearing as recurring characters in this series are both Sasha Sienna and Alasdair Stuart.

Karim Kronfli is a prolific voice actor, and while he might be best known for his roles in both Re: Dracula and The Magnus Archives, he has voiced a wide range of characters in many different fiction podcasts. Out of all the ones he's appeared in, I would personally recommend urban fantasy anthology series, Unseen. The unseen world exists alongside ours, but only a few humans can see it. It's a world where magic and magical creatures exists, and Karim's character tells his story in episode 7, titled We Ourselves.

Beth Eyre and Felix Trench played twins Antigone and Rudyard Funn in Wooden Overcoats, a British sitcom set on the tiny fictional island of Piffling, in the English Channel. The twins run a funeral parlor together, the only one on the island, until a newcomer arrives. Eric Chapman (played by Tom Crowley) sets up a much more successful funeral parlor, and the story is narrated by the Funns' house mouse, Madeline.

Alan Burgon plays the Interviewer in The Amelia Project. The Amelia Project is a secret organisation, and clients come to them looking for their help in faking their deaths. The Interviewer listens to each client's story, before concocting unique and often elaborate ways in which they will stage their deaths, before being reborn into a new identity.

David Ault is also a very recognisable voice to anyone who spends a considerate amount of time listening to fiction podcasts, and The Kingmaker Histories feels like an appropriate choice here. A weird steampunk series set in the Valorian Socialist Republic in 1911 , this story involves found family, its own intriguing magic system, and being gay and doing crime.

Our favourite cowboy, Giancarlo Herrera, plays one of the protagonists in sci-fi action/thriller, Primordial Deep. Spinner is part of a team which is sent deep beneath the sea to investigate the resurgence of creatures thought to be long-extinct. There's plenty of horror to be had here, as something ancient is stirring in the depths of the ocean.

As for the crew? Tal Minear works on so many podcasts, and if you like fantasy stories, I would recommend the delightfully lighthearted Sidequesting, which follows new adventurer Rion, as they help people on their travels. If you would like some more horror, there's their spoiler-driven anthology series, Someone Dies in This Elevator.

Hannah Wright's Inn Between is a fantasy series based on D&D. Each episode follows a party as they meet in the Goblin's Inn, in between adventures, as the tavern follows them around wherever they go.

Stephen Indrisano's upcoming docu-horror Shelterwood promises to be a series which explores the horror of suburbia, as it follows one man's quest to find his missing sister. Until this is released, I would recommend Do You Copy, in which Stephen plays one of the protagonists. This found footage horror series follows the events which unfold after the closure of Red Tail National Park, and the people who were left inside the park, after its mysterious closure.

Ella Watts is regarded as a walking encyclopedia of all things audio fiction, and has worked on several high-profile projects, including directing both Doctor Who: Redacted and Marvel Move. Her upcoming Camlann is a post-apocalyptic series due to be released next year, inspired by Arthurian legends and British folklore. She is also the executive producer of Tin Can Audio's (who are also producing Camlann) beautiful experimental series, The Tower. The protagonist of this story, Kiri, leaves her life behind to climb an impossibly high tower, making phonecalls along the way.

Newt Schottelkotte's Where The Stars Fell is a supernatural fantasy set in the town of Jerusalem, Oregon. Cryptozoologist Dr Edison Tucker arrives in the town to carry out some research, and meets her roommate, author Lucille Kensington. There's so much more to this strange town than first meets the eye, with a huge revelation at the end of season one.

Simmy comes off as standoff-ish and cold to those who don't know her well, often label by fans and social media as having a 'resting bitch face'. She is never rude, but tends to be quiet and distant and can be misinterpretted as mean. However, once given time to thaw, Simmy cares deeply about her friends and family and is an incredibly compassionate person. It was a bit of a surprise to both those around her and the fans when they found out about Simmy and Mariona as she is so quiet and distant, and Mariona comes off as so bright and chirpy.

Maybe Ghostface was right, and Katara was a final girl – and maybe, that made her a worthy opponent for this sick fuck. statistically, she'll probably get an ACL at some point so let's say that. she joins the ACL club but they've improved treatment fortunately when she does. leah, beth and viv lose their shit over it and get very angry about the scheduling though, they are fired up on their campaign to end ACLs that's unfortunately never-ending. emy takes advantage of the time-off though and spends time watching sienna's netball games that she's usually forced to miss before making a very poetic comeback at the emirates, the same place she did her ACL (leah definitely doesn't cry)

btw sienna's worst injury is also an ACL, a year or so after emy's. it's very common in netball too and she did it in a crucial league game. emy accuses her of copying and matteo being the ultimate little shit and annoying brother that he is, gets a very painful tattoo on his knee of a scar to match emy and sienna's just to piss them off. his worst injury was a bit of whiplash when he head banged too hard while playing the electric guitar. sienna sustained a worst injury from that incident, due to the fact she rolled her eyes every time he complained, she seriously strained her eye muscles causing headaches

Amelia, as usual, was wandering the hallways late at night, despite the regulations prohibiting it, her game board in her arms. Her hair was freshly braided as she had just come out of the shower, dressed in pajamas and slippers—convenient for leaving the Ravenclaw tower as quietly as possible. Silence prevailed in the corridors, except for the snoring of a certain Ravenclaw student.

She had everything planned. 11:33 PM with Beth, her childhoof friend. for another game of chess. Elisabeth would be late. She would apologize profusely, and Amelia would laugh at her excuse for being late. They would enjoy cookies and the "lemoande"she would have brought. She would be accustomed to not protecting her tower and placing it just before the king, giving her the opportunity to deceive him and take the crucial piece. She would sulk for fifteen minutes before accepting Amelia's cupcakes as a meager consolation. That'd remind them of how they met. They would spend the evening (platonically) watching a movie before discreetly returning to the chilly Ravenclaw dormitory.

Her mind was always ready to anticipate, but that didn't prevent her from almost stumbling when a black cat passed between her legs. She let out a small cry before realizing that another person had cushioned her fall. Blonde hair and freckles met her gaze. Andrew Larson, not Montrose (on whom Sienna, Amelia's best friend, had a crush), but the one who spent his time drawing constellations in his notebook during classes. Astronomy was to him what chess was to her. She quickly straightened up. "Oh my god, I'm really sorry! Your name is Andrew, right?" Amelia seemed to have a habit of bumping into handsome blonds. She blushed, thinking of her Halloween encounter with Ominis, but quickly dismissed that embarrassing thought from her mind as she saw the young man also getting up.

*Still thinking about the rogue planet he spotted, Andrew hauled himself up the infernal steps of the Ravenclaw Tower. He had successfully dodged any patroling prefects and loitering ghosts, a skill he applauded himself on, having never been caught. Then again, he did often fly back to their dorms from the Astronomy Tower, preferring to take to the night skies as he had always done as a child. Except now, he knew that no matter how high he flew, he would never be able to touch the stars.

Absorbed in thought, he missed the knocker's riddle and was about to apologise to the bronze eagle when a meow interrupted the silence. It was the black kitty that intruded on his housemates' chess match! It wove between his legs and pressed itself against him. Knocker forgotten, he bent to scratch the kitty between its ears.

Hello there *He whispered as the cat nudged its head against his hand. Taking that as an invitation, Andrew folded himself onto the floor where the feline immediately slinked onto his lap. Scooting back against the wall, he yawned and resigned himself to his temporary fate as cat pamperer… until… its gentle purrs lulled him to sleep, exhaustion taking over.

Merlin knows how many minutes later, a startled cry jolted Andrew awake, and he yelped at the mass that fell on top of him.*

"Oh my god, I'm really sorry! Your name is Andrew, right?"

Saturday 24th June 2023 - Bands, Lyn Lapid and parties (but i wasn't invited) I currently have 'to love in the 21st century' blasting my eardrums out as I type this, so I think it's fair to say Lyn is singlehandedly making me deaf by the time im 20.

I also got a huge part in the local production of Little Women - Beth!! She's the second-youngest sister and I am super excited to play hear as I adore Little Women in general, the movie and books are incredible. Rehearsals start soon and the performances are in October.

I'm not sure if anyone remembers that I tried to ask Janek out - let's just say it was one hell of a failure. It's almost been two weeks since I asked and I still have no answer. I can't really be bothered to try and ask him again - I'm taking it as a no and moving on as best as I can. He's currently at Harvey's for a party, which is basically just a boys' night in. With alcohol, I believe. Which, definitely could be interesting. Mattson is there too, as is Eliot. Harvey did consider inviting Alison and I but decided against it, since well, it's a guys' night. To be honest, I probably would've spent most of my time avoiding Janek as to not make it awkward and trying to stick to Alison's side while she flirts helplessly with Harvey. So I would've been third-wheeling at a guys' night. Not the best. Talking of parties, Harry and Matty got invited to Sienna's, a girl I used to sit next to in chem. Alison and Valerie are going too. I hope they have a good time, imma just sit here and type and write cards and scrapbook for most of the evening now. Today was spent at band rehearsal because I have a concert tomorrow evening and we are not prepared for it - but I know I probably will be fine as long as I play the right notes (and I can do that. I hope.) It's also Reagan's birthday fling tomorrow, and the council are going to an escape room, which could be seriously interesting. I'm sure I'll hear all about it and I'll keep whatever strangers who read these updated. Anyway I'm off, I have thank-you cards to write and a scrapbook to doodle on. ~CM
