You know what- Hero AU where Green Arrow found Nina and Bride washed up on Themyscira and the two meet years later on calmer terms
Star city is green arrows place right?
wonder what would have happened if green arrow found her or at least decided to go hunt down the creature
The way I could imagine him actually talking to her instead of falling into such a misunderstanding☹️
Maybe at first, in search for this supposed monster- he gets caught up in the exaggerated talk of the threat this beast could pose to the people. Talks to some of the monster hunters and they just tell him how dangerous and elusive this creature has been. Of course this simply leads to a misunderstanding.
Because in pursue of Nina the first time, maybe a hunt that takes place within the sewer, he loses track of her. But at no point did she speak to him or try to fight back. Maybe having shot her with a specific tracker leads him to finally corner her after a few attempts.
Only, Nina finally ends up speaking to him, pleading with him that she doesn’t know what she did wrong but she’s sorry- and Oliver knows he made a mistake.
In such a realization, I could see Arrow talking to her like he would anyone else. Getting to sit down by the water with her, and actually being able to sympathize with her the moment he understands her circumstance.
In such a scenario, I’d offer an Oliver quipping “I got a guy who can help you.” but only with a pre-established justice league where Oliver can bring Nina to Aquaman.
Otherwise, I could see him alternatively either helping her find a more private place for her to live peacefully and away from the people of the city, or hell, even taking her under his wing and giving her space somewhere among the private places he owns. Could probably buy/fund a conservation swamp area just for Nina to live freely.
Then BOOM Arrow runs over to Dr. Mazursky’s house, tells him his daughter is safe, family reunites in Nina’s private space and no one dies tragically🗣️🎉 perfect standard comic storyline-
#it’s time to rlly cope gang🚬#the ONE place Eric’s ass can’t find her smh#I could see the peace of the island making bride a lil cagey so she’s always up for sparring#sisterhood w the amazonssss😭#even if begrudgingly#The only reason bride would ever go back to man’s world would be to follow Diana eventually#wether she didn’t want her to get hurt (softy bride)#or Hippolyta asked her to watch over her#the bride#creature commandos#creature commandos spoilers

Hi, I would like to ask you to write something for the new fandofandom.
Could you please write:Wonder Woman daughter reader x Platonic super sons (Damian Wayne, Jon Kent).
The little trinity first met on watchtower when their parents needed to hold an unplanned emergency meeting of the Justice League and there was no one to leave the children with.
And I would not say that their meeting went smoothly.Mainly because Damian is Damian and the reader is a stubborn, proud Amazon.
John literally had to get between them so that their verbal altercation would not escalate into a fight.
But over time, they still became best friends, even though the bickering between Damian and the reader did not stop.
They tried to spend every free weekend together with an overnight stay either at the Kent farm, at the Wayne estate, or at the Temeskira embassy.
They care about each other very much. For example, John talks about how he is bullied by a school bully and at the same moment Damian offered to dig up dirt on the bully and destroy his life, and the reader immediately after that offered to call the bully to a gladiatorial fight to the death according to the laws of honor.
In short, something cute about children becoming best friends.
Tiny Trinity?
Tiny Trinity!
Hope you enjoy!
Wonder Buddy and the Super Son's
SFW, Platonic, Amazonian reader
WONDER FAMILY
Buddy is Wonder Woman’s daughter.
Created the same way as her mother and a near spitting image, minus a few features.
She had stayed in Themyscira for the first few years training alongside her grandmother and auntie’s while her mother was out in Man’s world.
Buddy putting her head on her grandmother’s lap: “Grandmother? Why is mama out in Man’s World? Isn’t it a cruel place?” Queen Hippolyta gently stroking her granddaughter hair: “She has a job in Man’s World. A very important job to try and save this world.” Buddy huffs a bit: “I wanna be with Mama.” The Queen smiles and tucking in a strand of hair behind the toddler’s ear. Queen Hippolyta: “Soon my dear, soon.”
Soon came quicker than the Queen thought as she saw the features of her daughter and granddaughter fade into the sky.
It was… an adjustment, but Buddy was determined to blend in like her mother.
To become a hero, just like her mother.
Her first time up in the Watch Tower, Diana had been called for an emergency meeting.
She didn’t want to leave Buddy alone in the apartment.
Last time she had done that, Buddy figured the magical world of the freezer, her ice cream stash, and somehow ended up tied up in the Christmas lights on the tree.
That was not a good day for Diana, Buddy, or the squirrel living in the tree.
Diana walked her into one of the lounges to see two boys in there.
Diana rushing into the lounge with Buddy. She notices Jon and Damien in the room. Jon waving happily: “Hi Ms. Diana!” Damian: “It’s Wonder Woman up here Superboy.” Jon brushes the comment off before noticing the smaller version of Diana next to her. Diana: “I’m sorry for the rush introductions, but this is Buddy, my daughter.” Damian and Jon’s eyes went wide: “Daughter?!” Diana doesn’t answer because she had already run out of the room leaving the three in the lounge alone. Buddy smiles at the two and holds out her hand. Buddy: “Greetings, I am Buddy, daughter of Diana and a fellow Amazonian.” Jon is already right by her side shaking her hand. Jon: “Hi! I’m Jon, Jon Kent! Son of Superman, also known as Superboy—” Damian: “Also known as the worst person to conceal their secret identity.” Buddy gives Damian a look before turning back to Jon. Jon: “That’s Robin, Batman’s son, also known as Damian Wayne.” Damian turns quickly to Jon. Damian: “Jon! What did we talk about?!” Jon: “Its fine—” Damian now standing up next to him: “Its not fine! We don’t even know this… this…” Buddy crossing her arms: “This what Damian? This what?” Damian and Buddy start glaring at each other. Jon slightly shrinking back: “Oh boy…”
Wayne stubbornness and Amazonian pride clashing.
Poor Jon is left to play peace maker.
Yet when Buddy leaves the two to go home with Diana, she already made a secret blood oath to protect her new friends.
She practically begs Diana to meet with the boys again.
Something that nearly earned her a one-way trip to the hospital, but she eventually did ask Clark for a ‘play date’.
Clark opening the door to see Diana and… a mini-Diana? Clark: “Diana and…” Buddy smiles and shakes his hand: “I am Buddy. You must be Clark Kent, father of Jon Kent?” Clark laughs a bit before Lois and Jon show up. Buddy also shakes hands with Lois before Jon grabs her hand, pulling her inside the house. Jon: “I can’t wait to show you the newest video game I got last Christmas!” Buddy just smiles letting the boy ramble about this ‘video game’. In Gotham… Damian looks up from the Batcomputer. He picks up his overnight bag and starts heading to the Zeta tube. Tim: “Umm… where are you going?” Damian: “You’re hallucinating again Drake, go back to bed.”
A few minutes later Damian arrived at the front door, he entered the house after giving a quick hello and finds Jon showing Buddy how to play a video game.
One thing leads to another, and Damian and Jon are now playing a racing game with Buddy cheering them on.
They make plans to do a sleepover at the Manor so Damain could ‘beat them in more games.’
Clark and Lois are glad that Jon is making more friends.
Dick, Jason, Tim, Duke, Cass and Steph do a double take when Damian walks down the hallway in his batman pj’s followed by Jon in his… other Batman pj’s and a new girl with a Martian Manhunter pj’s. Tim: “Is he…” Stephanie: “Having a sleepover?” Damian turns around to look at all his siblings. Jon waves at them smiling. Buddy gives them a sleepy smile. Jason: “Why does the kid look like a mini-Diana?” Damian: “Tt. Buddy’s her daughter Todd.” Bat family: “Daughter?!” Damian takes one hand while Jon takes the other. Damian: “Now if you’d excuse us, Buddy needs to take a power nap before we go over our future patrol routes.” Jon waves them good-bye before Damian shuts his door in his family’s face. Everyone is trying to process what just happened.
Soon the three of them are having sleepovers at each other’s places nearly every day.
The three of them become protective over each other.
Buddy and Jon protect Damian on patrol and some of the other younger superheroes when they judge his behavior… unless he did cross a line.
Buddy standing in front of Jon and Damian: “I’m sure that Robin didn’t mean any of—” Damian: “No, I meant it all. In fact, I have more—” Jon puts his hand over his mouth: “Stop it!” Buddy facepalms.
Buddy and Damian protect Jon when they get wind that someone started bullying him.
Damian and Buddy put aside their usual bickering for Jon and worked well.
Damian behind Tim: “Drake!” Tim jumps a bit before glaring at him: “Oh it’s you.” Damian takes a deep breath: “I need… your help.” Tim raises an eyebrow: “You need… my help? Why? What’s the catch?” Damian: “Some miscreant is bullying Jon at school. The name is on the post note. I need everything on them so I can make their remaining time on Earth torture.” Tim nods a bit and starts with the information search. Tim suddenly stops seeing Damian move to the Zeta tubes: “Wait, what do you mean by ‘remaining time on Earth’? You’re not going to…” Damian: “No. But right now I need to stop Buddy from finding them and challenging a duel to the death in Jon’s honor.”
Damian and Jon protect Buddy from the people who make fun of her for not knowing about the modern world and help her adjust to it.
Damian, Buddy and Jon are sitting on the couch watching a scary movie at night. Jon has part of his face in Buddy’s shoulder while staring at the screen. Damian refuses to be in Buddy’s embrace, but under the giant blanket is holding Buddy’s hand. Ever so often jumping and squeezing it. Buddy can’t stop from staring at the screen, one arm around Jon tightly while the other holding Damian’s hand. ???: “Hello—” Tiny trio: “AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” Buddy holds the boys tightly to her chest while turning her back to the voice. The boys grip onto each other for dear life. Clark, Diana and Bruce turn on the lights seeing the kids hugging each other in fear. Bruce looking at the movie: “Who’s idea was it to watch scary movies this late?” Neither of the kids dared to respond, still holding on to each other for dear life. Clark quickly takes a picture of them and sends it to the old trinity’s group chat.
Thankfully it was too quick for Damian or Buddy to notice and for Jon still hiding his head in the group hug.

I need the fic where the Amazon Penthesilea, against the wishes of Queen Hippolyta, leads the Amazons to the defense of their allies in Troy. Her thirteen year old niece, Diana, stows away on one of the war ships to see Man's World. Young Diana bouncing Astyanax on her knee as Andromache smiles. Young Diana taunting Patroclus across the battlefield. Young Diana returning from a skirmish asking, "Where's Briseis?" Young Diana watching as Hector, the first man she's ever really known, puts on his helmet and leaves for battle, never to return.
Young Diana letting Helen, her half sister, cradle her face in her hands and smile. "You will be beautiful, Diana," she says, "As beautiful as I am," and Diana feels that curse upon her, the curse of being a woman and beautiful. Young Diana pulling Achilles spear from her aunt's fallen body, eyes streaming with tears.
"You can't kill me," he says. His eyes are already dead.
"I don't care." she says, and lets the rage sing through her. When she returns to her island, she sits in the surf, letting the waves wash over her again and again, trying to wash the blood clean
Wonder Woman's first experience outside of her island is Steve Trevor and his airplane. Diana first saw Man's World as a child soldier of the Trojan War on the losing side.

Chapter 7 of Older, or Two Brothers and a Train Station up now :)
Summary: In which the Scamander parents get a bit too busy for caretaking; the extended family proves themselves rather useless at babysitting without inflicting borderline-trauma; and Theseus finds himself handling the unwieldy consequences (e.g., Newt). (yes, this is the lull before the storm...)
Excerpt:
In retrospect, Theseus maybe should have noticed earlier than he did that he had been very seriously tasked with watching his little brother on and off for the majority of the summer, far more than his usual elder brother duties. And it wasn't like he was tasked with it because he did not have anything else better to do himself , but because, by July, their parents—almost overnight—became truly and impressively and inordinately busy.
…Really busy.
With Muggle London’s recent fascination and consequent reliance on the electric tram [4], Helios was dealing with an influx of opportunistic magical troublemakers that pulled him out on investigations and into raids at every hour of the day and night; while Rowan had become rather single-mindedly preoccupied with several of her hippogriff mares (who were having a difficult laying season), all on top of her other preexisting business and family commitments [5].
At first, Rowan had roped her younger sister Willow—a mediwitch at the St. Mungo Children’s Ward—into helping Theseus with Newt a few afternoons and evenings a week, but after several attempts at having him stay over at hers entirely on his own (particularly on the nights before his appointments), that method quickly proved disastrous. Newt apparently did not like that he was unfamiliar with Aunt Willow’s flat and customs; and Aunt Willow was disturbed by waking up every morning to a childless cot, which forced her to search Newt out in a state of panic until she stumbled upon wherever he had tucked himself away the night before [6, 6a]
(Theseus never really thought he’d have to listen to anyone receive a lecture on why sleeping in the broom closet or the bathtub or on the floor behind the wood-stove instead of a perfectly suitable mattress was inappropriate, but Newt did a lot of things that made him question his previous understanding of the world.)
Before Helios and Rowan consented to explicitly using Theseus as a full-time third parent, however, they had tried Helios’ siblings. Both sets of grandparents were out of the question because Grandfather Ptolemy was about as warm with Newt as their father’s brother Hesiod was; and Rowan’s mother was frailer even than their Longbottom great great grandparents—even Newt seemed to tiptoe about her house (even if he did so exceedingly unsuccessfully) whenever they visited…
And that left only Helios’ older sister Hippolyta, down at the border of Devon and Cornwall at Rame Head [7].
Theseus knew the very moment his parents decided to ask her that sending Newt there would absolutely not work (which was unfortunate, for Newt could have been very entertained on the Sound under different circumstances)... But, because Aunty Hippa had always adored her youngest brother, she immediately said yes anyway, despite the fact her formerly aristocratic husband Arundel Helston Mount-Edgecombe was—according to Helios—a “piece of work” [8]; and even though Theseus and Newt’s only real cousin Eloise (a very pretty, very poised, and very disturbingly intelligent nineteen-year-old witch) was almost always in as much trouble as Newt was, if for remarkably different reasons…
Not the ideal location for an inquisitive six-year-old with very little regard for hierarchical respect or social niceties, Theseus personally thought.
But, because Theseus was just fourteen-almost-fifteen, he could only watch as Helios and Rowan approached Newt where he sat on a small boulder near the treeline, gently tugging the illustrated copy of Black Beauty out of his hands—(a book which Aunt Willow had bartered for him at a Muggle Curiosities shop while he stayed with her, in an attempt to bribe him into compliance)—and nudging him until the he’d made room for them to flank him on either side [9, 9a]. They explained in clear and calm language that Aunty Hippa had asked for his company for a few weeks, after which Newt asked if they still lived near the sea, and, upon hearing the answer—while still looking minorly concerned—nevertheless leapt off the rock to tear past Theseus and disappear into the house, where he proceeded to scour every shelf and trunk for "the book about oceans!" and Theseus' now-too-small bathing costume, from when they'd still lived in Dorset [10].
It was very clear his little brother was under the impression he might get to meet a sea serpent, and Theseus wasn’t cruel enough to disavow him of that belief if it made him happy enough to venture off the farm without complaint. Neither of their parents did anything to dampen his spirits either. In Newt’s wake, in fact, Rowan simply caught Theseus’ eye with a wink and a shrug, and then turned back to Helios briefly—letting him tuck an errant curl behind her ear—before rushing off after Newt to supervise his attempts at packing.
Newt was gone the next morning. Beaten-up binoculars hanging off his neck—a crab net woven through the front straps of his pink linen dungarees [11, 11a]—he had tolerated Theseus’ affectionate attention for a full half minute, even promising to write (with Eloise’s help, of course).
Not that the child even had time to fulfil that promise, though, for the owl Theseus received from Eloise six days after his little brother’s departure only proved his initial instincts unfortunately correct…

A Cosmos in the Sand
Chapter 14
Raven gasped as she was pulled backward by Jhon who moved her just as Damyan and Jason lunged for each other, and the two began a bloody duel. Onlookers watched in amusement and confusion while Raven watched mouth agape in horror. She needed to get them to stop! She needed to protect Damian! Closing her eyes, fighting the wave of nausea, Raven willed her powers to her fingertips. "Don't!" Jhon grabbed her wrists. "You'll only make things worse!" he shouted as the crowd yelled in glee when Jason landed a punch to Damyan's solar plex.
"We have to stop them!" Raven said desperately, flinching as the sound of steel hitting steel reached her ears.
"Stay here!" Jhon exclaimed before sprinting away with god-like speed.
Raven's heart raced as people swarmed past her, towards the fight. Another person ran straight into her and knocked her to the ground. She needed…she needed…clanging of steel echoed in her head. Suddenly she wasn't in Themyscira. She was in Azarath – clinging to her mother as Slaede's men separated the men and teenage boys from the women in the girls. Screaming as she was torn from her mother's arms and thrown into a dungeon with other younger girls. Raven gripped her head as memories flooded her. Begging on her hands and knees – begging for the lives of her new sisters and brothers – promising fealty to Slaede in order to protect her new family. "You will be my sorceress – "
"Raven."
Raven looked up at the sound of her name. She was staring into beautiful, turquoise, green eyes that had flecks of gold in the pupils. Damyan. Raven slowly lowered her hands from her head and looked around. The fight was over. Damyan was by her side looking at her in concern. Everyone was quietly staring at her. Raven looked over Damyan's shoulder to see Jason glowering at her. A tall, long-haired redhead stood by him, and she didn't appear thrilled at Raven's presence either. "What happened?" Raven asked Damyan as he helped her to her feet.
"You must be Raven," a tall, regal woman stepped forward. Her hair was long, straight, and black. Her eyes were as blue as the sky, and her skin was tanned. She wore a sword on her back, silver cuffs on her wrists, and a lasso on her hip. While her breasts and abdomen were covered in armor, a short skirt covered her legs, while gold boots covered her legs to her knees. "I am Princess Diana," the woman spoke. "This is my mother, Queen Hippolyta," she gestured to an older woman who was dressed similarly to Diana. "Welcome to Themyscira."
Damyan ignored Jason's glare and focused on the meeting. Princess Diana had interrupted their sword fight and ordered the two to stand down. He smirked as he remembered Jason's face when the Queen and Diana welcomed Raven to Themyscira and ordered that "no harm come to her." Damyan looked at Raven. She looked ill…and small. It was the way she was holding herself, arms wrapped tightly around her waist. She also appeared paler than usual. Her violet eyes were round and gaunt. Her breathing was heavy. Damyan's gaze whipped to the sides of the giant tent. Iolite. It was making her sick. "We'll be back," he said as he grasped Raven's hand.
"We're in the middle of something important, Damyan," Kal-el frowned. Jhon, who stood by his father, looked at Raven and then Damyan. He nodded knowingly.
"It can wait," Damyan said as he pulled Raven behind him.
"Damyan," Diana spoke.
"You've been planning this attack on Slaede for the last 10 years, I think it can wait a few more minutes. The iolite is making Raven ill."
"The whore can wait," Jason growled.
Without a second thought, Damyan threw a dagger at Jason's head. The weapon was only blocked by Artermis' quick reflexes. "Damn," Damyan swore. "Guess I should have aimed for the bodyguard, instead," he snarled.
"Listen here, you little bastard," Jason stepped from behind Artemis.
"Bastard?" Damyan raised a brow. "I know who my father is," Damyan smirked. "He's the reason you're all alive."
"Did she cast some sort of spell on you?" Jason ignored Damyan's last retort.
"Enough!" Hippolyta exclaimed before Damyan could respond. "Damyan, you may take Raven to get some air. Return with a better attitude."
Damyan managed a respectful bow before leading Raven out of the tent. He never once let go of her hand.
The two walked in a comfortable silence, eventually broken by Raven. "You shouldn't argue with your comrades over me."
"Jason doesn't know what he's talking about," Damyan replied.
"I'm the enemy," Raven said.
"Slaede is the enemy."
"And I'm his sorceress. I work for Slaede."
"To protect your family."
"Damyan," Raven sighed. Damyan stopped abruptly. He turned to Raven and stared at her wide-eyed. "What?" Raven asked.
"I think…that's the first time I've heard you say my name," Damyan spoke slowly, caressing the hand he held.
Raven looked away with a soft blush. "That has nothing to do with anything I just said."
"You're not the villain here, Raven," Damyan fully faced her. "Slaede is."
"My hands are not clean."
"Neither are mine."
"I don't deserve your kindness," Raven tried to pull away.
"You deserve kindness, Raven," Damyan said, not budging. "Why not mine?"

It was a rarity for Tim to hang around the Cave after patrol these days--half the time he never even came here in the first place, beginning and ending his routes around the boathouse rather than make the trek all the way back to Bristol. But his grappling hook was giving him grief, and Bruce hoarded all the best maintenance equipment (probably one of his emotionally constipated efforts to entice them all to stop by the Manor once in a while). Plus Dick was in town for a few nights to take Damian to some animated movie they were both excited about, and it was always nice to see him.
(So nice, in fact, that Tim had politely made fun of neither Dick nor Damian for being so excited about their weird little cartoon.)
Time zones were weird and the vast majority of his friends could fly and/or had superspeed, so he didn't even blink over the four AM phone call as he slouched sideways in the big chair at the Batcomputer, half fiddling with his grappling hook and half watching some YouTube video that Duke had forwarded to him earlier that day. Dick was the only other person still in the Cave, the two of them working in quiet companionship from opposite ends of the desk.
Tim swiped up to answer, cutting off the Beyoncé song that Bart had insisted they all set as their fearless leader's ring tone, and sandwiched the phone between his ear and his shoulder. "What's up?"
There was a long, pregnant pause, and it pulled Tim's attention away from the disassembled grappling hook on the table in front of him. "Cassie? Is everything okay?"
Dick looked up, sharply, and Tim glanced over at him, mouthing, "Sandsmark." It didn't completely remove the worry from Dick's face, but at least he was no longer on red alert over his little sister.
On the other end of the phone, Tim heard Cassie breathe out, the kind of breath that would have been shaky if it wasn't so exhausted. "Oh, you know," she said, finally. She sounded weird. Distant--in the emotional sense, not the physical one. "Got to play detective today."
"Stealing my schtick, huh?" Tim asked. The joke fell flat against the unease rising in his gut.
She hummed. "Even got to do the whole 'stand in the middle of the room and talk through the murder suspects one by one' bit."
"Someone was murdered?" Tim's feet slipped off the edge of the desk with a thump, and Dick's eyebrows nearly flew off of his face. "I thought you were in Themyscira."
"Yep."
Holy shit. Murder among the Amazons.
"God, Cassie, are you okay? What happened? Who--?"
"Artemis killed Hippolyta. Poisoned her."
"What?!?"
"It doesn't make sense!" she blurted. "I mean--she was the only one who could have done it, and she admitted to it, but I just can't understand why! It doesn't make sense. Artemis wouldn't just kill somebody--especially not Hippolyta. The tribes nearly ended up at war and--"
She started rambling, too fast and disjointed for Tim to understand--something about Doom's Doorway and a survivor and some guy named Jerry. She was getting dangerously close to hyperventilating.
Tim finished scribbling down the message he'd been writing, and he tossed the Sharpie down, holding the notepad up to face Dick.
HIPPOLYTA DEAD. ARTEMIS RESPONSIBLE.
Dick stared at the notepad for a lot longer than it should have taken him to read it, his expression uncomprehending. "I don't get the joke."
Tim shook his head, lips pressed into a thin line, and Dick cursed, reaching for his phone. Tim caught a glimpse of the screen--Donna Troy, head thrown back and nose scrunched up with laughter, at the center of a "Call Connecting" bubble--before Dick had the phone pressed to his ear as he darted off to find somewhere secluded to have their conversation.
"Deep breaths," Tim told Cassie, elbows on his knees, head tilted back to stare up into the moving darkness of the upper reaches of the Batcave. "You remember that breathing exercise you taught me back in our YJ days?" She didn't really respond, her breathing fast and harsh and wet, but Tim knew she was listening. He lowered his voice conspiratorially. "You can't tell anyone this, but I've always liked it more than the one I learned from Batman."
Cassie gave a broken laugh, and a smile tugged at the corners of Tim's lips. "C'mon, start your count," he cajoled.
He sat on the line as she struggled through the exercise, murmuring encouragement and feeling his heart break every time she nearly broke off into a sob. It didn't sound like she'd had much time to actually process what had happened--who she'd lost. How she'd lost her. The friend she'd been betrayed by in the process.
(How had that even--No. Shut up, Tim, he told himself sternly. He had questions (he had so many questions), but it wasn't the time.)
"Thanks," Cassie said, finally, when it had just been the two of them sitting in silence for five or ten minutes. She was hoarse but distinctly present for the first time on this call.
"Always," Tim promised. He sat back in the big chair, chewing on the inside of his lip. "Is there anythign I can... I mean." He pinched the bridge of his nose. "I know you've got the, uh, business side of things covered. But is there anything I can do for you?"
"I... no, there's... there's nothing." Cassie blew out a careful, shaky breath, resisting the impulse to start crying again.
"So that was the polite answer," Tim said. "What's the real one?"
She was silent for a long moment. Tim didn't really have a good idea of what Themyscira looked like, beyond being Grecian and idyllic, but he decided to picture her leaning on the stone railing of a balcony, staring out across the sea. "I just can't wrap my brain around it, Tim," she said softly. "I can't understand why she would..."
Ah. Yeah, that would be why she'd call him, instead of Kon or Bart or her mom. He spent a lot of time thinking about murder and the people who were capable of it.
"You're having a hard time letting go because it doesn't seem like you've really solved it," he surmised, with the sympathy of experience. He blew out a breath, folding his legs underneath himself, and pointed out gently, "But you know she did it, Cassie. And you don't know her that well, do you?"
"Yes, I do," Cassie snapped back, with a vehemence that made him blink. "We were together nearly 24/7 for weeks while we were looking for Yara, Tim. She's hot-headed and no nonsense and dedicated and she cares. She cares about the Bana-Mighdall. She cares about the Amazons. She cares about women and the daily injustices we're subjected to, and just because we don't always agree about how to handle that doesn't mean she's a cold-blooded murderer! She was Wonder Woman for a while, for fuck's sake!"
"Sorry," Tim said, contrite. "You're right."
Cassie huffed, then sniffled again, muttering. "At least you can recognize that."
"Diana giving you a hard time?" he guessed.
"Donna."
"Ah. Dick's on the phone with her right now, I think. Maybe he can calm her down."
Cassie made a doubtful noise. "She's grieving. Furious. And pissed at me for letting Artemis loose during the battle," she admitted. "So she's not really interested in listening to anyone right now, even her bestie." There was a quiet, staticky noise, like she'd scrubbed her hand over her face. "I'm going to have to stop her from killing Artemis once we find her."
Tim whistled, low and slow. "I'm sorry, Cassie."
"It would be easier if I just understood why she did it," she said, frustration roughening her voice. At a mutter, she added, "It would also be easier if Donna and I weren't sharing a tent."
Ah. No longer on Themyscira then. He revised his mental picture to Cassie sitting in the middle of a forest clearing, knees drawn up to her chest as she rested her chin on them moodily.
"If you're certain that Artemis wouldn't just... spontaneously commit an assassination..."
"You heard it when you said it, right?"
"Yeah," Tim agreed, drumming his fingers on his thigh. He usually tried to maintain stubborn ignorance to what Jason and the Outlaws were up to at any given time, but the explosions were hard to miss. He had a hard time imagining any of them at the center of a coldly calculating political assassination. And he knew that she'd eventually earned Bruce's deeply begrudging respect as Wonder Woman, even if he'd been pissy about her not being Diana the whole time. "Okay, so there's something you're missing. It didn't happen the way you think it happened. Maybe it was an accident?"
"She accidentally harvested poisonous berries from Brazil, followed Hippolyta into her bedroom, and slipped them into her tea?" Cassie asked dryly.
"Well. Okay, no." Tim huffed a laugh, even though it wasn't really funny. "Mercy, maybe. If we weren't talking about immortal Amazons, I'd ask if Hippolyta had a terminal illness or something."
"Why would she involve Artemis instead of Diana or Phillipus? Or even Nubia? And the timing--this almost caused a schism, Tim. Things have been weird for a while because Hera's up to something and the Esquecida are so new and strange, so this was like striking a match next to a leaky gas pipe. " Cassie's hair brushed the mic as she shook her head. "No. Even if Hippolyta had been cursed or something, that doesn't make sense."
"I don't think I know enough about Amazonian or Olympian politics to hazard any further guesses," Tim admitted. "This one's gonna have to be on you, Wonder Girl."
"Yeah," she sighed. "But talking to you helped. Got my thoughts in order a little, if nothing else."
"Good."
They were quiet for a long moment, Tim's mind musing over the concept of murder on Paradise Island. It sounded like the tagline on a mystery novel from the 40's.
"I could use a hug right now," Cassie admitted, her voice growing wobbly again.
"Bart would probably wake up if I called him," Tim offered. "We could be there in two minutes, tops. Maybe Kon, too, if he's not busy with farm chores already."
"No, that's--"
"I already told you, I'm not accepting polite answers tonight," Tim broke in sternly.
"...Two minutes?" Cassie said, hopefully.
"What good is having a speedster on the payroll if you can't shamelessly abuse his powers to orchestrate a group hug on minimal notice?" Tim stood up, stretching. "I'll rally the troops. Text me your coordinates."
#tim drake#cassie sandsmark#the trial of the amazons#I'm probably the only person in the world still thinking about this event#anyway I simultaneously liked cassie's role in the event and found it kind of unsatisfying#give that girl a breakdown and a hug from her besties!!!#set between trial of the amazons 2 and artemis: wanted

Had some Diana feelings last night and wrote this real quick for the Wonder Woman fans out there. I'm combining the supporting cast of Perez's run with the 'can never return to Themyscira' aspect of Rucka's rebirth Wonder Woman run.
---
The night was beautiful: clear and still in the way that was so rare here in Man’s World. Diana sat on the back porch of the Kapatelis’ home and stared up at the sky.
Behind her the door cracked open, the faint whirring sound of the electric lights spilling out from within.
“It’s getting late,” Julia said, stifling a yawn. “Aren’t you meeting with those Meyer people tomorrow?”
Diana hummed. “The stars are different here,” she said, still staring up.
There was the creaking of wood, a soft breath as Julia sat down next to her. “How so?”
“They are brighter.” here they were so dim: little pinpricks of light struggling to shine even when there were no clouds. “And they are just… different. I cannot pick out any of the shapes I know: the girdle or the flame or Athena’s Aegis.”
“They’re brighter out in the country. I remember watching them as a little girl. Here, we’re still too close to the city for that.”
“I miss Themyscira.” Diana turned to look at Julia rather than try to wring any more familiarity out of a foreign sky. She was looking up, wearing a robe over her sleeping clothes, light from the kitchen shining softly on her greying hair. So different from any of her amazon sisters she had left behind and yet the closest thing she had to a home here. “Areto, one of my sisters, she taught me about the stars.”
It had been to brave the unknown when saying goodbye: a mission ahead of her and her people behind, armor on her chest and the perfect at her waist. It was harder now, with Ares defeated and an eternity of this place stretched out in front of her.
“She who leaves, will never return,” her mother had said before the games. “She will be an exile. An amazon without a home.” And she had stood and watched as her people had competed for the honor of going forth alone.
“Our ambassador,” Hippolyta had called Diana when she had won. “Our champion.” And then, whispered in her ear as she’d hugged her goodbye. “Our gift to Man’s World. Our most precious gift.”
Man’s world: so different. So vast and strange. Here the food was different, the technology. No one knew her culture, her language, her gods—
“I still miss Greece sometimes,” Julia said in halting, heavily accented Themysciran. “I know it is… not like you. I can still go, but I feel what you feel. My parents are there.”
Well, perhaps, not no one. “My mother is on Themyscira.” It was another reminder, speaking in her native tongue. Of happy days in the past; running and laughing with her sisters on the beach. Of her mother singing to her and night when she was a little girl. “I miss her,” Diana said softly. If she said it any louder, she feared she might break.
Julia placed a gentle arm around her. It was warm, light. Far from the strength of her mother or sisters but comforting nonetheless. Diana found herself leaning into it.
“We all do,” Julia said, “when we leave home.”
There had been pride in Hippolyta’s voice when she’s given Diana the golden perfect: pride and fear and sorrow. Diana had proved herself the finest of the amazon’s that day: she had won a fate far from her mother, her queen, her people and home.
“Does it ever get easier?” Diana asked.
Julia’s arm still held her. Even far from Themyscira, she was not completely alone. “Yes,” Julia said at last. “Eventually, it does.”

Mayblade Day Two - School
For Mayblade this year, I’m setting out to post a 500-600 word scene from my current WIP: No Sacrifice, No Victory (link below). We didn’t quite make 500 words with this prompt, but I ran short on time =(
School
“We’ll be starting the term with Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream. If everyone could please turn to the opening act in their books …” There was a rustle of paper and pens as each of the students reached for their copies as instructed, except for Tyson, who fidgeted uncomfortably in his seat for a moment, then leaned over to whisper in Steph’s ear. “Can I share with you?” Steph felt her eyebrow twitch in annoyance as she opened her book to the front page. “Where’s yours?” “At home on my desk - I forgot to bring it.” From the row in front, Hilary sucked in a breath. “Honestly, Tyson. You’re so irresponsible sometimes.” “Nobody asked your opinion, Hilary.” “Would the three of you keep it down?” Ray muttered under his breath. He was looking wearily around at their classmates, some of which had begun to stare at them and alerting Daisy to the commotion. “Tyson, where is your book?” Tyson hesitated, glancing briefly at his teammates for support. Max hastily dropped hi s gaze to his notebook, suddenly interested in writing the date in the corner of his page. Becky shrugged helplessly and Ray shook his head in disapproval. Daisy sighed and approached them, placing her own copy of book on his desk. “This isn’t junior high, Mr Granger,” she reminded him. “The next time you show up inadequately prepared for class, you’ll find yourself spending the afternoon in detention.”
She turned to walk away, allowing Tyson to breath a sigh of relief. “Oh, and Tyson?” He froze, mid reach, his fingers just grasping the edge of the book. “Yes, Miss?” A smile played on Daisy’s lips. “Hats are against the dress code.” Wincing, Tyson tugged the blue, red and white baseball cap off his head and stowed it under his desk while his classmates watched, snickering quietly. Nodding in approval, Daisy went on to address the class. “Would anyone like to volunteer for Hippolyta’s lines today?” Hilary’s hand shot up in the air so fast that she nearly smacked Becky in the face with her palm. The younger girl flinched, almost falling off her chair. “Yes, Hilary. Go on.” As Hilary began to recite the play in a loud, clear voice, Tyson shifted in his chair and leant over to Steph again. “One hundred and eighty days of school,” he whispered. “That’s a lot of Hilary.”

Plot:
The film opens with Hippolyta telling a young Diana about the Great War between the Atlantans and the Amazons. She explains to her that the fought over an ancient relic the Spear of Entity.
She explains the Spear belonged to the God Poseidon the original ruler of Atlantis. The Spear was given to Zeus who in turn gave it to Hecate, and she used it to harness her most powerful spells and bestow the gift of magic to others.
Hippolyta tells Diana the King of the Atlantis,(prior to Aquaman’s Mother) wanted the Amazons to give him the spear back, and when they declined the war started. One of Hecate’s followers named Circe betrayed the Amazons and stolen the Spear draining it of its powers making her a wicked and powerful sorceress.
The Amazons and Atlantans waged war on her and with assistance from dying Hecate herself Circe was bashed to the island of Aiaia.
Years Later Diana stops a group of terrorist from unleashing a bio weapon at the White House, after she is thanked by Agent Steve Trevor who informs her the President sends his thanks.
On the island of Themyscira multiple Amazons are training, and Hippolyta watch over them when her sister Antiope calls to her and asks her to talk about her sorrows. Just then a large red and black burst of fires shoots through the force field around the island and crashes into the heart of the it. Circe emerges from the smoke and brimstone and demand the Amazons obey her commands.
Antiope orders the Amazons to attack the traitor who create an army of undead Greek soldiers to attack them, she vanishes in red smoke and reappears before Hippolyta, she demand she tell her the location of the Spear so she can free her soul.
Hippolyta refuses and the two fight with Circe uses her powers to overthrow the Queen. Antiope uses an arrow that pierces Circe’s arm, shocked that a weapon was able to hurt her she vows to return to kill them once she finds the Spear and leaves. Antiope reveals the arrow was dosed in Moly the only herb and known physical item able to hurt the Witch.
The Amazons send a message to Diana, though Hippolyta is unsure if she’ll be able to return home.
Seeing the message Diana turns to her friend Dr. Sandsmark to see if she can help her return home.
She reveals she had an item that is Amazonian but isn’t sure how it can help her.
Diana returns to Steve Trevor’s office to ask for his help, Steve show’s Diana a prototype of a Military jet that is said to be one of the fastest, as a token of thanks. She asks him what’s the catch to which he tells her this isn’t one. She thanks him for his help and he asks her about the artifact. She tells him it’s from her home but asks him if he can look into the location of the Spear.
Combining the artifact with the mainframe of the jet it enhances it and gives it the ability to turn invisible and travel through any dimension Diana can think of. She uses it and arrives back to Themyscira.
Diana is told the rest of the story she learned as a child and just how powerful Circe is and how just how much more she can be if she recovers the Spear.
Before leaving Hippolyta gives Diana two items, the Armor of Amazon and the Shield of Athena. She tells her to combine these item with the God Slayer sword Athena gave her to stop Circe, but Diana tells her Mother she hopes to not kill and find another. Her Mother tells her she lost hope for Circe centuries ago but if anyone can stop her it’ll be Diana.
Steve is able to have a small team locate the Spear and joins the group to retrieve it from an inhabited island off the coast of Rome.
Circe has already learned the location and sends her minions to kill the group of troops.
Hippolyta tells her she is happy to see her again, and she tells Diana she hopes whatever brought her back to her she prays to the Gods she can see her again. And with that Diana boards her Jet and heads off to help Steve.
Most of Steve’s team is murder and he’s running through the jungle unable to kill Circe’s minions. She calls to him like a Siren and nearly lures him to his death until Diana uses her shield to stop Circe’s minions from attack.
She summons for her sword which appears from magic and uses it to destroy the magical minions.
Steve tells her the coordinates and the two enter inside an old temple for the Spear, the two find Circe who has it in her possession and finds it to be a fake, she has a vanish of the real on which is guarded by the Atlantans.
Circe caused the caves to collapse and vanishs, Diana get Steven out in time and the she must find Circe before she finds the real Spear.
Aquaman enters to a temple outside of the city that is guarded and we see Circe appear inside. Atlantans, Aquaman and Circe battle inside the temple.
Wonder Woman bursts inside and knocks Circe away from striking Aquaman, he asks her is she a friend of hers and she denies but tells him she must not get inside the temple.
The two have an epic battle with Circe who is wounded by Diana’s sword. She uses her powers to create a hex to and tells Diana she must choose to stop her or help her friend.
Circe escapes with the real Spear and Wonder Woman uses her Lasso to exile the hex from Aquaman. She tells him about Circe and he tells her that some people are above being saved, but that some people also just need to be save from themselves.
Circe returns to D.C. and drains the remaining powers from the Spear.
Diana drops down from her jet and tells Circe it ends now.
The two have a destructive and bloody battle that Wonder Woman nearly loses. But thinking about her mother, her friends, and Steve she thinks about something Circe has never had. Love.
She gets her second wind and uses her Lasso she is able to stop Circe. The Lasso cannot force Circe to tell the truth but Diana is able to talk to her and make her realize that taking all the power in the world cannot feel what Circe is missing most.
Circe is furious but tells the Amazon she is wise beyond her years, even wiser than most of the Gods.
Circe tells Diana that all she ever knew was power, she never knew anything else.
Diana tells her she must expel the power of the Spear or it could kill her. Circe spats at her and tells her she has been vested but Diana will not win in the long run.
Circe vows that she will kill Diana, and will destroy Man’s World. Circe vanishes in red smoke.
Diana feels sad that she couldn’t save her but Steve arrives and tells her she did the one thing other warriors never did and that was offer her companion, and the chance to be heard. He tells her only she can give someone that.
In the last scene Diana is on the shores of Themyscira and Hippolyta comes to her and they talk and she tells her she’s proud of her, she could have easily killed Circe which is what most would have done but Diana isn’t like most. She stronger, faster, but most of all she had compassion for those who cannot fight and will always help everyone weather they feel they are worthy or not. The two walk farther down the shore and Hippolyta hugs her daughter one last time before she boards her jet and flies back to Man’s World.

Hey, don't mind me here! I'm going to ask you some random Supergirl questions because why not, but don't feel obligated to answer them. Cool? Cool. Okay, if you could rewrite one Supergirl story, which one would it be? If you could put Kara in any Elseworlds story like a zombie apocalypse or hunger games or whatever, which one would you choose? Have you read Convergence: Adventures of Superman? It's like the last arc of Peter David's Supergirl run, but better.
ok so THANK U for all the questions first of all <3 one of the story arcs i would rewrite for kara is her reintroduction back into the dcu in superman/batman (2003). it really had the potential to be an all-time banger of a story arc for kara but the constant over sexualization of literally every woman in that story is so off-putting to me. it also really set the tone for her early characterization in the 2000s as a stereotypical american teenage girl, which isn’t fitting at all for kara at that point in her life. so yeah, i really really love the idea of kara training with the amazons (and i don’t mind her being watched over by clark/bruce/diana either) and developing a strong bond with hippolyta, diana, and cassie. and i also really liked the idea of darkseid/granny goodness taking advantage of kara in her very vulnerable state and capturing her and forcing her to be a female fury. i thought that was such a cool idea but the execution of it was so lame to me!!
now i’ve talked about this before, but if i could put kara in an elseworlds story it would have to be a sci-fi horror type of comic. even something with a simple and familiar premise could be really fun like “supergirl vs alien” or “supergirl vs predator” or “supergirl vs alien vs predator”. and not to give any credit to the fl/sh movie, but i think kara immediately getting captured by the government upon her arrival on earth and having to escape her captors could be a really cool idea for a horror comic for her. she can be both the alien lurking in the dark picking off agents and scientists one-by-one, and also the central protagonist that you root for. “I'm not trapped in here with you, you're trapped in here with me” etc etc etc.
and yes i have read convergence: adventures of superman!! and i agree, i loved seeing pre crisis kara in many happy returns but i enjoyed c:aos more. plus she’s wearing her headband so <3 <3 <3

Here's the fic: Green Hills, Clear Skies
It's actually written in the Justice League 2017 universe, and I do have mixed feelings about that version of Barry. He is cute, and I do enjoy him, it's just something about him feels like the writers are making him more incompetent than he actually is?
I thought the premise of the fic was cool, so we'll see how long it takes for me to actually start writing one like that.
They're all upset that Diana brought a man onto the island. So even before Barry actually arrives with her, they've already planned out how to deal with (And possibly kill) the invading man. So they plan out how to counter the expected flirtations, the overly masuline behavior, etc. And then they proceed to be hit with awkward midwestern Barry Allen.
It is pretty realistic to think that the Amazonians will briefly connect to Hermes when they see Barry and his speed. Especially since the wings on his cowl are based on Hermes' wings on his helmet (And Jay Garrick's helmet is literally a recreation of that helmet).
Because Barry doesn't fully believe in his speed coming from a mythical source (Basing it more on the scientific reality of the speedforce), his hesitation regarding their assumptions is accurate. Barry doesn't want to deny or act like their belief in the gods is stupid, so he just goes on the not-a-real-answer route.
It would be so funny if Hermes just showed up like “Oh hey, waddup Barry!”. It’s even funnier if you want to lean into Barry’s skeptical side, because he’ll treat this god like a completely normal guy as if they were old friends. And all the Amazonians are watching, getting their minds blown that apparently this mortal man can actually run faster than the fastest Greek god.
That whole Hermes part is based off another fic where he challenges the different Flashes in a race. Fic here: Hubris (It's really cool)
On the topic of Diana picking him up- uh- yes. The general reaction is 'Man allowing himself to be dominated by woman? Man isn't upset? MAN ENJOYS IT????'. It's made even worse because Diana wants to bring her favorite speedster everywhere, so she'll just grab Barry from whatever he's doing and direct him to the next thing she wants to show him. Everyone else is having a seizure in the background with how easily Barry goes along with everything and matches Diana's enthusiasm.
Magitech is a bit more complicated because I don't know that much about Wonder Woman lore, and it seems to have changed a lot over the years regarding the way the writers have written Themyscira.
I would like it if the Amazonian 'scientists' take a liking to him easier that the others. Barry is really interested in the way their 'science' or technology works, so he listens to what they say, ask good questions that don't demean their intelligence, and he's even willing to share his own knowledge on different subjects to help them! Free info! He's so easy to talk to, and his interest in their magitech would probably mean he spends more time around them.
Once iris gets brought up, it's game over. All of these warrior women get to watch him rant about his amazing wife, in a respectful, loving way. They can all see how much he cares about her just from the way his eyes soften, and the warmth in his words. If they ever meet Iris, they'll see how healthy their relationship is, Iris will also 100% rant about how amazing Barry is too.
I think if they did something close to a lasso check on Barry, it would make Diana really mad that they're treating her friend like that. Honestly the both of them would probably pick up on the animosity the Amazonians feel towards Barry, but they're both willing to work through it.
The Diana moment she sees the interrogation? She is going to be pissed. Because she spent the past - week?- showing them how great of a guy Barry is, and they still act like he has some secret plan? They'll all have a fight, maybe Diana will storm off as well.
Hippolyta would be upset that her daughter is angry at her, and maybe a bit guilty over the assumptions they made about Barry, so she'll go in a corner to sulk. And you might think she and Diana will reconcile after a while, but it's actually Barry who decides to go have a talk with her, and ease her worries too. Maybe it's this heart-to-heart that has Hippolyta actually see Barry as who he is.
AHHHH, I dunno, I have ideas. It's all a jumbled mess in my brain.
This was the fanart that started it all, lol It was inspired by The New Frontier, the part where Diana just picks up Barry and carries him around and it was so cute, I couldn’t pass up the chance to draw it~ I was trying some different coloring styles here, not entirely happy with it but oh well. Practice makes perfect aha
#Look i too have a problem with responding to stuff#I've been very busy this past week#but not busy enough to get the speedster out of my head#he's always there#lurking in the crevices of my mind#the flash#wonder woman#barry allen#diana prince#saffi rambles#I love the wonderflash content#it's always diana and batman#or diana and clark#give me diana interactions with other heroes#actually#give me hero interaction that isn't surrounding batman#or the batfamily#because honestly?#Bats are overrated#I need more content of other heroes#tons of them are so much better than bruce#gimmme

*not my gif*
You trotted beside Diana as she rode her own horse for once, yours evidently thankful as she had a pep in her step. You observed the small sail boat as it sat docked against the tiny pier, looking towards Diana.
“Princess, what would you have me do?” You asked, falling off of the side of your horse.
Before she could respond, thundering hooves echoed from the top of the hill. You looked up briefly before bowing your head as Queen Hippolyta led the six other warriors towards you, Menalippe at her side.
You helped Diana off of her horse just as Hippolyta was helped by Menalippe, both of you standing behind your liege.
“Handmaiden Y/N, you have been promoted to the Queen’s side.” Menalippe muttered, which was more than loud enough to be heard over the quiet waves.
“No. No, she is my handmaiden.” Diana stepped in front of you before you could walk any further.
“Diana…” Hippolyta warned her.
“Do not punish her for doing her duty. She is to follow me wherever I may go; if anything, punish me.” The princess protected you, her arms loosely wrapped around you so as to stop you from escaping.
Hippolyta took a few steps forward before looking at you, shielded by your princess. “You will fulfil your oath to the letter, and should that result in your death, you will embrace it. Am I understood?”
“Yes, my Queen.” You bowed your head.
“Good. Now, leave us.”
You nodded silently, moving to the boat to help Steve. You heard Diana and Hippolyta’s whispers, but that was all they amounted to for your ears. A sudden embrace from behind startled you, but the fluff of Diana’s coat calmed you.
“Easy, my Princess. How may I comfort you?” You murmured.
“I do not know.” She replied.
You gently placed your hands over her interlocked arms that wrapped around your chest, peeling them apart so you could guide her to the comfortable area you’d decided she’d sleep on.
You sat beside her legs after checking they were wrapped within her coat, your back straight as you watched the moonlight glisten against the sea. A hand on the side of your waist had your head turn slightly, the princess’s face lit up with the dim light.
“You need sleep too, Y/N. Come lie with me.” She urged, tugging on your waist.
You turned away from her and she sat up, giving Steve a look that he instantly translated to ‘leave us’. Diana gently took your chin and turned your head back to her, noticing a tear brimming your eye.
“What’s wrong?” She asked softly.
“I miss her.” You sniffled, looking down at your hands.
Diana followed and saw a small crown in your hands, much like the one her mother had just given her. She gently took it from you and smoothed her thumb over it, recognising the symbol engraved on the back.
She lifted it to your head and slid the crown onto your head, letting it rest on your forehead. “Perfect fit.” She muttered.
You smiled weakly, leaning into Diana’s palm as it rested on your cheek. She thought about letting the tears fall, to caress her hand before they dripped onto the wood, but her thumb interjected their path.
“Come lie with me, Y/N.” She asked again, to which you gently shuffled on the floor to lie next to her.
She instantly tied your coats together by the strings usually used to tie around yourself, creating a cocoon of warmth for you both to rest in. Her hand came to rest in your hair, gently swirling around and massaging your scalp, making you sigh satisfactorily.
You briefly closed your eyes to yawn, but when they reopened, you saw Diana looking at you with such intensity you believed she was looking through to your soul. “Diana?” You murmured.
“Yes?” She murmured back.
“Have you read Clio’s volumes?” You smirked slightly, hiding it within your coat as she chuckled.
“Why yes, I have. Have you?”
“I’ve… skimmed through them.”
“What, uh… What are Clio’s volumes?” Steve interrupted.
You tilted your head so you could see him properly. “Clio was an Amazon who wrote twelve volumes called Treatises of Bodily Pleasure. Some involve reproductive biology, others involve physical stimulation like massages or the puncture of needles to relieve tension.”
“Huh. Did you bring any of those with you?” He joked.
“You would not enjoy them.” Diana chuckled.
“And why not?” He retorted.
“They came to the conclusion that men were essential for procreation, but otherwise… unnecessary.” She shrugged, leaning closer into you
“Sleep, Y/N.”
You shook your head against her shoulder, but her voice in discussion with Steve was mesmerising to listen to, eventually bringing you to the edge of sleep before you felt a shifting beside you.
“Goodnight, my handmaiden.” Diana’s whisper tickled the skin by your ear before she kissed your temple.
It was safe to say that you didn’t fall asleep for a while.
——————————\\//\\//——————————
Your dream was unlike any other you’ve had. Maybe it was the fear of leaving your home, the protection you’d always had now gone. A man and woman with a mask, discussing their strategy to devise a new weapon, but whispers came through a breeze and they both began to cheer.
You weren’t sure what to make of it, but their howling laughter had jolted you, and subsequently Diana, awake.
“What? What is it?” She asked, slightly groggy.
“I… do not know.” You murmured.
“Good morning!” Steve barked from the end of the boat.
“Welcome to jolly ol’ London.”
You looked around, the simple scent of smoke distasteful. “It’s hideous.” Diana muttered, making you chuckle.
“Certainly.”
As you came to a pier, Steve profusely thanked the man who had tugged you into the harbour before leading you both through the city. People were dressed and acting oddly, one even in chains, before a loud sound from behind you caused you to spin.
A black carriage of some sort, one without horses, continued to make the sound as Diana stood in its way. You carefully swept her towards the side of a building, keeping her from harm.
“Well, hello ladies! Fancy a drink with us?” A group of men asked you as you passed by, but Diana firmly gripped your waist to keep you away from them.
“We must get to the war.” She guided you.
“Of course, my Princess.” You murmured, apologising softly.
“Well technically, the war is that way.” Steve pointed behind you both. “But we have to go this way first.”
“And where are we going?” Diana asked.
“We gotta get this notebook to my superiors.” He gestured to the book in hand.
Diana gently let you go before gripping Steve by the front of his jacket. “No. I let you go. You take me to Ares. We made a deal, Steve Trevor.”
He looked over at you and you shrugged. “She is my princess - where she goes, I follow.”
He sighed. “Damn it, alright. Come with me first to deliver this and then we'll give you a ticket to the war. Deal?"
Diana gave him a nod and swept her coat out for her to walk properly, but Steve immediately stepped in front of her.
“What are you doing?” She asked, confused.
“You cannot do that, because you're not wearing any clothes. Let's go... let's go buy some clothes.” He coughed.
“What do women wear into battle then?” You scoffed.
As you followed Steve down the road, your battle senses fired off and you looked behind you. You scanned the crowd before Diana’s call of your name had you catch up to her, stepping inside of a big building.
Lots of women walked past you, dressed in long coats with hats that had frilly tops like feathers or… fluff. You’d have to ask Steve what that was.
“Thank God! You're not dead! Hurrah!”
The delighted shouts had you turn to see a lovely short woman with a bright smile beaming at you all.
“I did think you're dead till I got your call, you know? He's been gone for weeks. Not a single word. Very unlike him. And now I am introducing myself. It's Etta Candy. I am Steve Trevor's secretary.” Etta looked at you both, marvelling at your beauty.
“What is a secretary?” Diana asked.
“Well, I do everything. I go where he tells me to go and I do what he tells me to do.” She chuckled.
“Well, where I am from, that's called slavery. I am Diana and this is my handmaiden, Y/N. Unlike slaves, Y/N is paid wealthily in gold.” The princess introduced you.
“It is a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Candy.” You gently took Etta’s hand and bowed.
“I really like them.” Etta grinned at Steve before he gestured for you all to follow him.
There were many figurines cut out and resting on top of what seemed to be glass, some figurines without heads, arms, legs, or even a combination of the three.
“Is this what passes for armour in your country?” Diana asked, looking at Etta with confusion.
“It’s fashion. Keeps our tummies in.” She replied.
“Why must you keep them in?”
Etta almost rolled her eyes. “Any woman without a tummy would ask that question.” She grumbled, looking at you both.
“I must ask, what do you two do to keep your bodies like that?”
“Train in the ways of battle for many hours a day.” You answered, admiring the feeling of some of the fabrics.
You came to Diana’s side as she spoke with Etta and Steve, standing around an outfit. “Try it on at least.” He shrugged.
“Very well.” Diana murmured, moving to undress herself.
“No! Diana.” Steve hissed, pulling her jacket back on.
You were silent as Diana tried on many outfits and complained many times - it almost felt like home, in an odd way.
“How can a woman possibly fight in this?” Diana scoffed at a purple dress that seemed incredibly odd.
“It seems like a ballgown, Princess.” You spoke your mind.
“Fight? Women don’t fight, we use our principles. I mean that's how we are gonna get to vote. Although I am not opposed to engaging in bitter fisticuffs should the occasion arise.” Etta chuckled.
“As you should, Ms. Candy.” You replied nonchalantly.
And Diana’s slew of complaints came through again and again and again.
“It's itching.”
“Too tight.”
“Too loose.”
“It's choking me.”
“Can we really blame it?” Etta chuckled.
After many minutes passed by, with you seated on a chair to observe, Steve came back. “Etta. Where is she?”
“She's trying on outfit number 226.” Etta beamed.
“Y/N? Opus est vestis quoque invenire. (You need to find an outfit too.)” She called out through the changing curtain.
“Mox, princeps mea. (I will soon, my princess.)” You replied.
She stepped out in what Etta had previously described as a trench coat, brimmed hat, pants, shirt and boots. You knew of only the boots, since your own pair were strapped around your feet.
“Ms. Candy, the whole point was to make her look less distracting.” Steve grumbled to his secretary.
Steve looked around for a solution before finding a pair of glasses on display, grabbing them and guiding them onto Diana’s face but it eventually poked her eye.
“Ow.” She grumbled.
You instantly stood and came to her aid, taking them off and waiting for her to be calm. “Are you okay, my Princess?” You asked softly.
“Mhmm.” She mumbled, wiping away the tears of pain that had formed.
“May I?” You asked again, to which she nodded.
She did. not. fidget. As your hands gently caressed her skin whilst sliding on the glasses, she felt their unusually cold temperature. She took your hands once the glasses were put on and gently massaged them whilst you spoke with Steve.
“I will get an outfit similar to my Princess. I will be back shortly. Ms. Candy? Would you mind accompanying me?” You turned to the short woman, who was more than happy to help you.
Once you found your outfit, you came back to the main room to show it off to Diana and Steve. You wore a similar trench coat to them but yours was a dark navy blue since they’d run out of beige. Your hat was ‘Raven Black’ as said on the label, like Steve’s, and with no glasses Diana was able to observe your bright irises.
“I’ve never picked my own clothes before. This is exciting!” You gleamed, going back with Etta to let her pay for them and then change into them properly.
Diana was saddened at your truthful statement - you’d never picked your own clothes because you had a handmaiden uniform. Here, in the World of Man, you had a freedom you’d never have with Themyscira.
Once you came back, dressed in the outfit whilst holding your coat, you took Diana’s clothes and followed her out as she held her shield and sword. Behind you, Steve and Etta chased after you.
“Please put the sword down, Diana. Diana!” Steve hissed at her, something that displeased you greatly.
“Do not yell.” You seethed, turning to face Diana.
“My Princess, I will keep your items safeguarded with Ms. Candy whilst you speak with Steve’s superiors. I will come when you call, I swear it.” You calmed her.
She took a few deep breaths before she nodded. “When I call, not a second later.”
“Of course.” You smirked, watching her leave with the man that had illuminated your world with freedom.
“Right, Ms. Candy - where are we off to?” You turned to her, taking Diana’s shield and sword from her struggling grip.

Marie Anne Cain Part 1: Trial by Fire
Marie Anne Cain had been created for one purpose.
She was created as a backup plan in case her older sister Cassandra Cain fails her given task of guarding the Al-Ghuls.
If her older sister were to fail then it was her job to become a perfect weapon, ready to be used in whatever way the wielder desires.
At least, that's what she had heard from the other League members.
Marie Anne Cain was kept in isolation for the most part.
One room.
No bed.
Dried-out dirt floor.
No windows.
One door.
No light sources.
The only contact with other humans she would receive was the nurse assigned to her, the assassins who would randomly attack her, and on the rare occasion, her father.
The nurse was in charge of taking care of her injuries, giving Marie 'new' clothes, and any other hygiene tasks.
The nurse never talked.
She had been ordered not to talk just like the assassins had.
It really didn't matter that no one talked to her.
The red and black bug talked to her while she slept.
So did the black cat.
And the green turtle, the yellow bee, the orange fox, the purple butterfly, and many other little different colored creatures.
The League had decided that while her older sister Cassandra would receive training, she would only learn from trial by fire.
If she wished to learn how to fight, then Marie Anne Cain had to learn by observation, and by trial and error. No one would teach her.
She couldn't learn much from the assassin that kept attacking her because they always killed her too quickly.
So the little creatures that talked to Marie in her sleep brought people to teach her.
The red and black bug brought an Amazon Queen named Hiyppolyta. She taught Marie how to speak in her tongue and fight like her sisters.
The black cat brought a fallen king named Arthur. She taught her court etiquette and how to belong at a table of men who believed you to be nothing or believed that you had simply gotten luck on your side.
Each of the different colored creatures, the kwamis, brought someone to teach her, the kwamis' former chosen.
One of the times after training with kaalki's former chosen, Marie Anne had ended up in a garden.
Marie sat in the Garden admiring the plants until the League guards took Marie back to her 'bedroom', receiving punishment in the form of only getting a quarter of her food rations for the next month.
On the bright side, Marie had received a visit from her father.
He had asked how she got out of her 'room', but he received no answers.
The kwamis had told her not to speak to anyone in the League.
After the first incident, Marie became a lot more careful about leaving her 'room'. Getting the random teleportation under control and only ever leaving her 'room' once a week to gather information about what's been going on in the place outside her 'room'.
One of the times she snuck out Marie Anne saw her sister for the first time.
She had been six at the time, her older sister being eight, and seemed to be about to go on a mission, her first mission if the talk of the League was to be believed.
Marie wondered when her first mission would be.
Mare wondered when she would get to prove herself to her father's approval and be allowed outside of her 'room'.
It didn’t happen the way she thought it would or the way she wanted it to.
She had heard bits and pieces of what happened to Cassandra Cain, her older sister.
She had heard stories about how Cassandra had abandoned the League, becoming a traitor.
Marie hated it.
The more she heard the whispers of the League members the more she disliked the League, and the more she was angry on Cassandra’s behalf.
Her father had claimed her older sister to be a disgrace to their bloodline, and she hated him for it.
Marie Anne had died multiple times from her father’s orders and from the many trials he had her face, but Marie had never hated him for it.
However, calling Cassandra Cain, her older sister, a disgrace? That was a line he shouldn’t have crossed.
From that point on the trials got harder, a consequence of the difficulty was the death rate increasing.
Not for Marie Anne Cain.
No.
The deaths were the assassins who aimed to kill her.
She had felt horrible about her first kill but the kwamis had been quick to reassure her that it was a necessity of life. Queen Hippolyta and King Arther agreed that sometimes you must take a life so that you can survive.
When she was seven, a year after Cassandra’s disappearance, a group of twenty assassins attacked her without warning.
She had, of course, come out alive, with only a single cut on her right cheek. The cut following the same pather as her cheekbone.
She had noticed that there had been two additional people in the room, both of the people simply watching as if this was their own personal entertainment, so she had paid them no mind.
That was until she recognized them.
The additional people?
Her father, and Ra’s Al-Ghul.
Once the fight was over, Marie Anne fell to one knee, with her head hung low, offering her weapon, the weapon she had taken off one of the assassins to Ra’s following the etiquette she had seen other League members perform.
Ra’s let out a pleased hum.
“She will do.” Ra’s states before leaving the room.
Marie’s father seemed pleased with himself as he ordered her to stand and follow, leading her to a new room.
Inside the room was Talia Al-Ghul holding an infant.
“The Demon Head has granted you the honor of protecting and guarding his heir with your life.” Marie’s father informed her.
She gave a firm nod before bowing to the Demon head’s daughter and the Demon head’s heir.

Yandere One-Shot: Yandere Queen Hippolyta
SUBTITLE: YOU ARE MEANT TO BE MINE, THE GODS SENT YOU TO ME. [PART ONE]
You arrived on the Island of Themyscira when the cruise ship you here traveling on was hit in a sudden storm, which was kind of ironic considering you made a joke about how the dark cloud forming meant you all were about to face Poseidon's Wrath.
While the captain wrestled with the raging seas, you were helping the passengers get to the door that lead to the cabins. You were about to head in yourself when you noticed a young boy near the front of the ship; refusing to leave anyone, you pushed against the winds and grabbed the boy before heading back.
You were almost there with him when a large wave came over the edge of the ship - acting on pure instinct, you pushed the boy to the sailor who caught him...but the wave caught you before you could do anything.
The raging water sent you flying to the edge of the ship, making your back come in contract with the metal rails, sending pain from the center of your spine to your entire body before sweeping you over the rail and into the water that consumed you. Your life flashed before your eyes before the air was cut off and you began drifting away into nothingness, but not before a powerful voice spoke to you from an unknown depth.
"You are perfect to stand by her side."
And then, you knew no more.
You woke up on an unknown beach, trying to remember what happened but there seemed to be a gap in your memory. You tried to stand but the pain in your back made you fall back to the sand. You managed to turn over to where your face was in view of the sun - you laid there, trying to let your back heal on its own when the sound of horses neighing and hooves hitting the sandy beach.
You opened your eyes and came face to face with numerous women, all wearing golden armor and armed to the teeth - and all wearing very pissed-off expressions on their faces. You tried to speak up they just snatched you up and tied you up before placing you on one of the horses as if you were a bounty.
You were thrown into a cell - still bound as if you were a bounty. The ladies glared at you before leaving you, all except one; you assumed she was going to watch you.
You knew it wouldn't be wise to try to speak - they were already angered with you and it wouldn't be wise to anger them further; you were already in enough pain as it was. You sat in the middle of the cell with your legs crossed and your eyes closed - if anyone saw you, they would assume that you were in meditation.
After a while, the door opened again and several people walked in - leading them was an elegant woman with a crown, she must have been the queen.
"What is this?" The queen asked as her blue eyes glared into your surprisingly calm [Eye Color] eyes.
"My Queen, this is the outsider our scouts informed you about. We found them lazing upon our beach as if it was their own." The guard said as she glared at you.
"Open the cage." The Queen ordered, the guard followed the order and she walked into the cage with a lasso in her hand, "I am going to ask you some questions - Are you going to be truthful or will I have to force the truth from you?" The Queen asked.
"I have nothing to gain but an enemy if I lie. You have my word that I shall be honest with you, Your Grace." You said.
"We shall see about that." The Queen said as she tied the lasso around your neck before holding it with one hand - there was a golden glow before the queen spoke again. "What is your name?"
"My name is [Your Name], Your Grace." You answered.
"Truthful. Well, [Your Name], how did you get here?" She asked.
"I was on a cruise ship with some other people when a massive storm it. I was aiding the people to get the safety but there was a boy that strayed from the group and was alone. I went to help him, I managed to save him but the waves swept me off the ship and into the ocean. When I came to, I was on your beach." You answered.
"Truthful." She looked into your eyes, "You risked your own life for a boy's - what reason did you have?" She asked.
"He has a life." You answered.
"What do you mean 'he has a life'?" She asked.
"He was young, no more than 6 - he cried for his mother, it was clear he was afraid. I've lived longer than him, I wasn't gonna let him lose his life when he hasn't even experienced much yet." You answered with a calm sparkle in your eyes.
The Queen looked at you for a while before taking the lasso from around your neck, "It's clear that you are honest. You really had no intention of finding this place?" She asked.
"No, Your Grace - I have no idea where I am, and I can see your people are not fond of outsiders. I would leave at once if I could." You explained.
'What's stopping you?" The guard scoffed.
"The storm damaged my back - that's why I was laying on the beach where you found me. And, I don't have access to a ship." You explained.
"There are a few ships that are in need of repair near the beach where you were laying. Once your back heals, fix a ship and leave our island." The guard ground.
"If that will please you, I shall." You closed your eyes and bowed your head. The Queen looked at you for a while before leaving the cell - which was locked right behind her - and she left the area with her guards behind her. Her blue eyes seemed focused but her mind was in a fog - she can't stop thinking about what happened the previous night...
When she prayed to the Gods for the perfect partner to rule Themyscira alongside her.
'Could they...be the one the Gods sent to me?' She wondered.
After a week, your spine was healed enough for you to move and you asked the Queen to show you the ships the guard spoke of. You, The Queen, and a few Amazon Guards went to the ship graveyard and you found a fishing boat that was mostly intact but needed a new propeller, some holes in the hull patched up, and some look at the digital map; the other ships would have the parts, you just needed the tools.
It would be another week before you got the tools you wanted.
The Amazon Hunting Parties - Lead by the Amazon Artemis, named after the Goddess of the Moon and Hunt, came back with nothing one time and wasn't sure what she was going to do. You offered your aid and she laughed at you then you made her a deal.
"I am certain I can come back with meat before the shadows blank at the land - if I am able to do this, then I am to be given the tools I need to repair the boat." You offered. She laughed up you before giving you a bow and sending you on your way - there was no escape off the island so they didn't need to worry about you running away.
Just before the sun's light faded from the sky - You returned with 3 wild boars for their dinner. Artemis was both shocked and angry to be made a fool of. You gave her the meat and she gave you the tools, you removed yourself from the city with no food to continue repairs but Hippolyta followed you and left a basket of fruit, bread, meat, with a canteen of wine before leaving before you saw her.
The longer you stayed on the island, the more the locals accepted you. When you walked into the city to retrieve some things for the boat, the women would wave or smile: You became Artemis' Hunting Partner and Diana loved to spar with you. There were some times you ate with the Amazons in the meal hall or sometimes, Hippolyta would invite you to eat with her and Diana; she almost felt like you were all a family.
"So, how is progress with the boat, [Your Name]?" Diana asked you one night during dinner.
"Well, actually. I just have to wait for the automated systems to finish drying and set them and making sure the holes in the hull are patched, then I can be on my way." You smiled but...Hippolyta didn't look happy at the news.
"I thought you said would take at least 3 months to fix the boat." She said.
"It has been 3 months, Queen Hippolyta." You said as you looked in the queen's eyes.
"But...are you certain you need to go back?" Hippolyta asked.
"What do you mean?" You asked.
"Well, you've been here for so long and everyone already sees you as one of us. I mean - look at you - you're more like an Amazon." Hippolyta said as she gestured at the outfit you were wearing.
"Your Grace, I have been here too long. I have a life that I must return to and I am not one of you - I have no right to be here." You said.
The rest of the dinner was in silence.
After that dinner, strange things were happening around you: You would find new damages or flaws with the boat or the Amazons were acting more like family than before. You didn't like it.
One night, you were working non-stop on the boat and had just placed the propeller on when you heard footsteps, your turned to look and saw...
"Artemis? Diana?" The 2 Amazons stood there with saddened looks on their faces.
"We didn't want you to find out like this." Artemis said.
"Wait - you two have been the ones that have been damaging the boat and keeping me from leaving?" You questioned, the silence was enough to answer, "You are... Why would you do this?" You asked.
"It's you who wouldn't understand - you can't leave, you belong here - on Theymscira, ruling the Amazon with Mother." Diana said.
"I'm not an Amazon, I have no right to be here!" You tried to make them see reason.
"You may not be Amazon but you do belong here. It's been clear to all of us and we shall not let you leave our queen. The Gods brought you here because you are meant for Queen Hippolyta - you are the one she prayed for." Artemis said.
"What? NGH!!!" You clenched your head as a splitting pain shot through your mind, making you fall to your knees in pure agony.
"They are remembering something. Diana, get them before the pain fades!" Artemis said. They didn't have to worry about the pain fading because it knocked you out again.

"I wish to travel to the world of man," you announced with a deep breath and a confident smile. Hippolyta looked at you and laughed. Her Amazonian guards copied the actions of their queen and burst into a fit of giggles that made you feel like a silly small child.
"And where has this outburst come from?" Hippolyta asked with a quirked eyebrow as she folded her arms across her chest. The laughing slowly quietened down as she waited for a response.
"I've been having these dreams," you began to explain hesitantly. Hippolyta leaned forward in her throne and looked at you quizzically, making a small gesture with her hand that urged you to continue. "I've been seeing death and destruction, I've been watching the world of man crumble…"
"You want to travel to a collapsing society? Don't be foolish, that doesn't sound safe. Why leave the beautiful walls of Themyscira to travel to the world of man?" You had heard stories about the world of man and how it was filled with greed and corruption. Themyscira was peaceful. It wasn't that you wanted to leave, it was that you knew deep in your heart that your time had come.
Hippolyta was right. You looked around the palace that you had stepped foot in, the marble floor under your toes and the gold intricate details that patterned across the walls. "You let Diana." you mumbled under your breath, turning away from the queen and beginning to walk towards the double doors that you had entered through, ready to leave the palace.
"What was that?" Hippolyta asked, rising to her feet. You opened your mouth to answer but an excruciating pain shot through your head— and that's when you heard him. You heard his voice again. His pain. It wasn't just in your dreams anymore… you could feel him like he was there, with you, like he was part of you. You screamed and fell to your knees as tears spilled from your eyes, your fingers clenching into a fist so hard your knuckles turned white. The pain was so intense and you heard his words over and over again. Hippolyta ran over to you, sinking down to your level and cradling your weeping body in her arms. She called your name. "What is it?"
"He's calling for me," you choked back a sob. "The world of man is in grave danger."
"From who?" Hippolyta questioned, wiping your tears away as you tried to regulate your own erratic breathing.
"I don't know, but I must help." you gasped. "I must help him. Please allow me to go." you grabbed Hippolyta's arms and looked at her with pleading eyes. "You allowed Diana."
"Diana was a fighter, our best one," Hippolyta said slowly, shaking her head at the memory of her daughter. "You are not a fighter." She said the four words matter of factory but her denial made your anger rifle through your body.
"Maybe I can win this without fighting," you sobbed. "Yes, I have no training. I do not use a sword or a shield, but my mother taught me that battles can be won if we just use our heart. If we love." you felt like you were begging as you recalled Hestia's words to you. Your Themysciran tribe were of a peaceful nature, and although small, your leader, Aphrodite, preached about the power of love.
"Olympus and Eurydice loved and what happened to them?" Hippolyta scolded, her question rhetorical. You recalled the story in the back of your mind and winced, knowing their fate. "We are Amazonians. If the world of men needs saving, then Diana will save them. Go home my child, I forbid you from leaving Themyscira."
Your heart broke. You couldn't believe that Hippolyta was confining you to the walls of Themyscira. She didn't understand. She couldn't understand. It was only once in a turn of centuries did an Amazonian connect with someone from the outside world— and now, you had. You had made that connection, but Hippolyta forbade you from acting upon it. You composed yourself as you stormed out of the palace and hurried down the stone steps. Tightening the buckles on your gladiator sandals, you wiped your furious tears away and took a deep breath as the anger consumed you.
It wasn't fair. You had spent your childhood studying the world of man, learning about them and their ways. Nobody had cared more about helping others than you. Your desire to care for those around you came from your very own purpose. When Zeus sculpted you in his own image, he made you goddess of home and hearth. He gave you your abilities for a reason. Amazonian's outside your tribe shamed you for your kind and compassionate heart— telling you it was a weakness more than a strength. They belittled you and made you feel unworthy. As you remembered your childhood trauma, you pulled out your hair from your tiara. You lived on Themyscira your whole life but it never truly felt like home. You always craved for something more.
You ran home. You ran as fast as your feet could carry you, letting your tears fall and your screams of anguish echo through the Themsycrian forests. It wasn't fair. What did Hippolyta expect you to do? Deal with this for the rest of your life. How could you not help the man who's pain was destroying his very soul? The Gods had connected you and him for a reason. You had to go. You had to.
As soon as you arrived home you broke down. Your mother heard your cries and found you in the garden, picking at the native Themysciran flowers as your salty tears dropped on the lilac coloured petals. "Hippolyta denied your request?" Hestia asked, sitting on the wall next to you. You nodded sadly. "Sweet child, tell me more about these dreams. About this...man."
You didn't see the point now that you knew you wouldn't be able to leave Themyscira. But Hestia was your mother and you loved her dearly, and so you took a shaky exhale and done your very best to explain. "It feels like I've known him forever, like he's always been a part of me," you admitted. "But— I don't even know his name." you shrugged helplessly and cracked a small smile, listening to how pathetic you must've sounded. Maybe Hippolyta had a point. "I don't even know how he looks. Even if I did venture to the world of man, how could I possibly find him?"
Hestia sighed, unclipping her lasso from her tunic and wrapping it carefully around your wrist. You looked up at your mother, your eyes comically wide as the lasso glowed yellow. "Close your eyes, my child," Hestia whispered. "See him. See the truth."
You closed your eyes and let your soul space away as the lasso transported your mind to elsewhere. To him— the man of your dreams.
"Alistair?" Maxwell cleared his throat, his son's head snapping in the direction of his father. "That was your mother. She wants you home." Maxwell pointed aimlessly back at the telephone.
"But daddy, you promised the whole weekend together!" Alistair's eyes began to well up with tears. Maxwell ran to his son's side, his heart aching at the sight of disappointment and he pulled Alistair into his chest.
"I know, and I will keep my word," he hushed Alistair, smoothing out his hair. "Don't worry." Alistair nuzzled his face into Maxwell's dress shirt, sniffing in fear of losing his father again. There was a few beats of silence as Maxwell's brain ticked like clockwork, trying to work out what his ex wife's intentions were. "Does your mother… does she ever talk about me?" Maxwell asked hesitantly, unsure if he was about to regret the question.
"I hear her, sometimes. I hear her talk about you to Ted," Alistair admitted, referencing his mother's new boyfriend. Maxwell hummed, still stroking his son's hair. He wondered whether or not he should ask Alistair what exactly she said, but decided against it, not wanting to hurt his son anymore than he already had. He knew that Juliana had nothing good to say about Maxwell.
"Ted? I thought he liked to be called Theodore," Maxwell chuckled, rolling his eyes and Alistair giggled back. Max and Alistair would often joke about how pretentious Ted could be.
"Well now he wants me to call him dad," Alistair sighed, too young to understand the implications of that revelation. Maxwell's heart broke. Of course Juliana wanted her son to call her new boyfriend 'dad'. She got Alistair on the weekdays and Maxwell got him on the weekends, it was more than likely he saw Ted more than he saw Max, and Max knew for certain that Juliana's hatred was fueled further with his every breath. The prolonged silence urged Alistair to speak up. "But I told mom I won't."
"You did?" Maxwell smiled sadly. "Why?"
"Because you're my dad!" Alistair grinned. "And you'll always be my dad, no matter what."
Maxwell couldn't bring himself to reply. His stomach twisted into knots as he thought about Julianna's words over the phone. "You do not deserve him. I don't want you anywhere near my son ever again."
He knew the level of determination his ex wife possessed and if this meant she wanted sole custody of Alistair then Maxwell knew there would be very little that would stop her. He had messed up bad this time. Alistair felt tiny in Max's arms, but Max knew his son's heart was huge and filled with unconditional love. But the worry and guilt consumed him. How could Max possibly fight and win this case— after everything that had happened? He didn't even have the money for good lawyers. Maxwell whispered an incoherent 'I love you' into the crook of Alistair's neck, his shutting as a tear slipped down his cheek.
Your own eyes snapped open, your chest heaving and panting as the lasso of truth unravelled itself from your wrist. "What did you see?" Hestia asked, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. "Did you see the man of your dreams?"
You tried to process everything. "I didn't see him," you whispered feeling defeated. "But I heard his voice. And I learned his name. He's a father and he's afraid of losing his son," you explained, taking in everything you had learned. "And his son is afraid of losing his father."
"When you awoke last night, what did you hear?" Hestia asked.
"He was crying. He said he renounced his wish. I've been struggling to understand what exactly that means but…" you closed your eyes, remembering the dream like it was a perfect painting illustrating the patterns of your memory.
Hestia smiled wearily. "I always prayed to the Gods that you would not be chosen. My dear child, I love you so much, but it's clear that this man needs your help. You're the goddess of home and hearth, and Zeus blessed you with the ability to bring families together and that is your purpose. To live a life without serving your purpose— who would you be?"
"It doesn't matter," you sighed sadly, rubbing your eyes. "Hippolyta won't allow me to leave." you reminded your mother.
"I can help you leave Themyscira," Hestia cupped the side of your face with your hand, her thumb brushing over the height of your cheekbone. "But if you are to help this man there is something you must know."
"What is it?" you asked your mother, your eyes beckoning for answers.
"There were once two brothers; Romulus and Dolos. Their entities combined were a force of pure evil, but the brothers left Olympus to go to the world of man. When they left, Zeus gave them two magical citrine stones, and the brothers practiced their powers on the stones. Dolos went to a place called Greece, where Romulus travelled to Italy and built the city of Rome. Not much is known about the stones, but now, only one remains. We don't know which one or where it is, but it's dangerous."
"Why are you telling me this?" you furrowed your eyebrows together in bewilderment.
"The stones are indestructible, unless the power of the stone is harnessed by a person themselves. Then, the entity of the stone vanishes but the power lives in the person. The power of wish granting. If he has renounced his wish, that means…"
"...he's had a wish granted," you clicked on to what your mother was saying. "How do I find out which stone has been destroyed?"
"You need to find the man of your dreams and ask him who granted his wish," Hestia explained. "You must destroy the final dreamstone."
"But why?" You quizzed, your shoulders falling limp as you took in this abundance of information.
"Because Romulus and Dolos are the God of Lies." Hestia whispered, her hands falling from your shoulders as she clipped the lasso back to her tunic.
Your heart sank into your chest as the revelation hit you. "The God of Lies?" you repeated.
"If you go to the world of man then your purpose must be more than just helping this man and his son," Hestia told you. "You must find the final dreamstone and destroy it."
"How can I destroy the God of Lies?" you shook your head furiously. "No, nuh-uh, not happening. I can't even fight. I don't have any weapons— never trained. I can't do it. I can't." you scowled, standing up and brushing down your Amazonian dress, turning away from your mother. You felt her hand grab your shoulder.
"Remember what I taught you, my child. Battles can be won through the power of love," Hestia smiled. "If I didn't think you were worthy, then I wouldn't be allowing my only daughter to travel to the world of man. But I am because I believe in you. And I believe in love."
***
Maxwell couldn't focus on the video game anymore, shuffling around uncomfortably at the mere thought that Juliana and Ted could be on their way to collect Alistair for themselves. "Hey, how about we get some fresh air?" Maxwell asked, nudging Alistair playfully. "I think there are still some 4th of July celebrations happening in the park."
Alistair grinned ecstatically. "Really daddy? We haven't been to the park since… since… you were still with mommy!"
Maxwell scrunched up his nose and brushed off his sons comment. "Go grab your coat, okay?" he urged and Alistair bolted out the living room and into his bedroom.
Maxwell caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. No amount of biotin was going to rid the dark circles from under his eyes. At least he had his health restored, but he hadn't thought of the implications of utilizing the government's multinational broadcasting service.
Every single citizen of the world had seen Maxwell. Knew him by name, by face. Maxwell had no idea how people were going to react upon seeing him again. He contemplated a disguise, but figured the best he could do was roll up his shirt sleeves to his elbows and brush out any hair product from his dark blonde locks. At least he wasn't wearing his signature tailored suit and ties. On the surface, he could just be mistaken for an ordinary guy. Maxwell Lord had never wanted to blend into society this much in his life.
The memory of how power corrupt he had become before Diana had saved him struck his heart like a dagger of guilt. But he couldn't regret. He had to think forward and think to the future if he wanted to change his errors.
Maxwell jumped when Alistair took hold of his father's hand and pulled him to the door. "Hey, let me help you zip your coat up." Maxwell smiled, kneeling down and making sure Alistair would be warm enough.
By the time they arrived at the park, it was as if nothing had happened. It was like the world had returned back to the way it was before all the death and destruction. Children squealed merrily as they played on the swing sets, families sat on the grassy fields eating picnics and vendors were serving hot dogs, burgers and cotton candy.
"Why don't you go play with the kids over there?" Maxwell pointed towards a group of children standing by the slide. "Daddy just needs a moment to himself, but then I'll come play. I promise." Max kissed Alistair on the forehead and Alistair nodded understandingly before racing off into the playpark.
Maxwell scratched the back of his head and took in the cool Summer air as evening began to dawn. He looked around at the happy families and figured it was something he could get used to. He imagined living a peaceful life outside of the spotlight. No fame, no money, just him and Alistair. But things didn't come easy for Maxwell Lord.
You woke up in a muddy puddle under a tree, groaning as the brown dirt stuck to your arms and legs. You looked down at your dress and tunic, thankful that the leather material could be washed easily. You smelt something unfamiliar yet distinct, your nostrils twitching as the scent of burgers and hotdogs from the vending vans engulfed you.
The screams of children alerted you and you looked over at the playpark, watching intently as the kids laughed and danced around. There wasn't many children back on Themyscira, but being the goddess of home and hearth; it filled your heart with joy and happiness.
You slowly walked over to the playpark, looking around at your awe inspiring surroundings. So this was the world of man? You beamed upon seeing the swans in the duck pond and the beautiful flowers that grew around the stone path you walked upon.
It was mesmerising, but your delight was cut short when you heard a thud followed by a child's cry. You looked over to see that, not too far away, a group of children had pushed a young boy to the ground. The boy fumbled to get to his feet but the children circled around him, pointing and calling him names. You walked over to the crowd of children and placed your hands on your hips. "Excuse me?" you called out and watched as the kids stiffened up and their circle disbanded. They ran away, shooting you a strange look before you could even say anything else. You extended your arm and helped the little boy to his feet. "Are you okay?" you asked, kneeling down to mirror his short height. The boy nodded sadly, his dark eyes glazed with tears. "What's your name?"
"Alistair." the boy mumbled, his cheeks heating up with embarrassment.
"That's a beautiful name," you gleamed before introducing yourself. Alistair smiled at the compliment.
"I like your costume," he pointed excitedly. "Are you a princess?" he pointed at your tiara which held back your hair.
"Something like that," you shrugged with a small laugh. "Are you here alone?"
"No, I came with my daddy." Alistair informed you, looking around as he tried to locate his father. Your gaze followed his and you watched the young child begin to panic as he couldn't find him anywhere.
"You can't see him?" you asked with an empathetic frown. Alistair burst into tears, holding his head in his hands. "Hey don't cry!" You pulled the child into you and hugged him tightly. "He won't be far. Come on, let me help you look for him."
"He-, he always leaves," Alistair sobbed and your eyes widened slightly. "But this time- this time he promised. No more leaving."
"You must believe in your father, okay?" you whispered, pulling Alistair's hands away from his face and wiping his tears. "Tell me, what does he look like?"
Alistair sniffed and grabbed onto your hand for support. "Strong," Alistair smiled. "Really really cool. Best dad in the world." you chuckled at Alistar's words, and how he had described his father's personality rather than his physical appearance.
"Do you remember what he was wearing?" you quizzed as you and Alistair exited the playpark and back down the stone path.
"Umm, a white shirt and grey pants," Alistair recalled. "He's on the television sometimes."
You furrowed your eyebrows together. "Television?" you asked curiously and Alistair nodded before gasping.
"Look! There he is!" Alistair screamed, pointing across the road into a store window, at a man with golden coloured hair and chocolate brown eyes. You swallowed the lump in your throat as you took in his appearance. The man shook his fists and nodded his head, grinning enthusiastically.
"That man on the screen over there?" you tilted your head as Allistair squeezed your hand and dragged you out of the park, across the road, and over to the shop.
"Yep, that's daddy!"
"Welcome to the future, life is good, but it can be better. And why shouldn't it be? Everything you've ever dreamed of is right at our fingertips. But are you reaping the awards? Do you have it all? Welcome to Black Gold Cooperative, the first oil company run for the people, by the people. Think about finally having everything you've always wished for. For a low monthly fee, you can own a piece of the most lucrative industry in the world. And everytime we strike gold, you strike gold! No matter who you are, no matter what you do, you deserve to have it all. Do you have everything you've always wanted? Aren't you tired of wishing you had more? Join me today. You don't need a pile of money or some business degree to get started. You don't even have to work hard for it. At Black Gold Cooperative all you need is to want it."
You were so hypnotized by the man's business scheme, you didn't even notice Alistair disappear. Your eyes widened as you looked around, desperately trying to find him. You called his name a few times, hoping he wasn't far.
Maxwell tugged on Alistair's arm and dragged him around a corner. "What are you doing?" Max hissed and Alistair looked away from his father nervously. "You don't talk to strangers, do you understand me?"
"I couldn't find you in the park, she was helping me look for you." Alistair explained, his voice timid.
"So why were you out of the park, huh? Standing outside a television store watching one of my-" Maxwell sighed. "-one of my infomercials?"
"I wanted to show her what you looked like," Alistair frowned. "I'm sorry daddy."
Maxwell leaned down and kissed his son's forehead. "It's okay, just please don't do that again, alright? This world is full of bad, dangerous people. You need to be careful." Maxwell said and Alistair nodded his head. Max slid his hand into Alistair's and walked him back into the park. "So, who was that woman anyway?" Maxwell asked, quirking his eyebrow.
Maxwell had barely managed to get a glimpse of you, but if your short warrior tunic was anything to go off, he figured you were someone hired to be in costume for one of the 4th of July celebrations. He didn't see your face, only the back of your head, but in the split second he saw you, he admired the way your hair gleamed under the amber setting sunlight and the shape of your body, how your dress sculpted it perfectly. He shook away the thoughts, reaching into his pocket and taking out his wallet as he approached an ice cream vendor.
"She was nice," Alistair smiled as he looked at the ice cream menu painting on the side of the van. "She told me she was a princess and she helped me." Alistair recalled the way his bullies ran away when you had come over.
"Helped you how?" Maxwell quizzed, pulling out a few dollar bills.
Alistair stiffened up, not wanting to tell his father about the bullies. He was afraid Max would be ashamed of him for not sticking up for himself. "Can I get a raspberry sundae?" Alistair asked his dad, brushing off his initial question. Maxwell nodded his head and slid the cash over to the vendor who began to prepare the ice cream.
"Hey, I'm looking for my friend Alistair?" you were asking plenty of people wandering the streets of DC the same question. "Do you know where Alistair is?"
Some people would reply with, "Alistair who?", but most people would look you up and down with disdain and hurry away. You wondered why nobody else was dressed like you, and why nobody knew who Alistair was. Back on Themyscira, everyone had their own individual, unique name and everyone knew who everyone was. You frowned. It clearly wasn't like that in the world of man. You needed a different tactic. You thought back to Alistair's description of his father and tried to remember the words he spoke on the television. "Welcome to Black Gold Cooperative."
"Do you know where Black Gold Cooperative is?" you asked an aging lady who was walking along the sidewalk.
She, like everyone else, looked you up and down in bewilderment. "The headquarters?" she asked. "East Avenue, about a ten minute walk away."
"Which direction?" you prodded further.
The woman blinked. "East." she repeated.
"Thank you." you smiled, curtseying politely before setting off to find this mysterious place that the man on the television spoke so highly of. If he was really Alistair's father, then maybe you could find Alistair there and ensure his safety. That's what really mattered.
You found it difficult to walk in your gladiator sandals, and the quality of the air made leather tunic chafe against your thighs. Nevertheless, you preserved, ignoring all the sky comments that were being made by passers by regarding your appearance.
Finally, you found yourself standing outside Black Gold Cooperative headquarters; the large building looming over you as a cold shadow hung above your head. Attempting to go through the revolving doors proved to be a challenge in itself, as there was no such creation back on Themyscira. After a few attempts of trying to push through you finally found yourself in the deserted lobby. "Welcome to the future," your head snapped up to the television on the wall, where the same infomercial you had seen in the store window was playing in the reception area. "Life is good, but it can be better."
You slid behind the main desk and placed your hand on the television screen, allowing your fingers to trace the man's face. It was that same charming smile and honeyed brown eyes you remembered. His hair was golden and styled perfectly, curling at the nape of his neck, like a fairytale prince you had read about in the storybooks of your youth. He was fitted in colourful patterned suits which accentuated his broad shoulders and every word glided off his tongue so sweetly. That's when it hit you— his voice. That was the feature that had attracted you to him. It was what brought you to him. It was the voice you had dreamt of, the voice you had heard over and over again. The voice that had brought you to the world of men. It was fate that had brought you to Alistair, something that could've only been written by the Gods. That man was the first man you had ever seen, and my oh my, he was something else.

MLB x DC Universe Headcannons
I just love the idea of MLB and DC (expecially Batfam cuz Mari is such a Wayne) being in the same universe and crossing over. So one night, I just had an idea overload of different ways the Marinette would know the batfam/be a part of the DC universe. And if any of my shitty ideas somehow inspire or prompt you, then please be my guest. 😊 _
1) “Ladybugs of Past and Present”
Hippolyta, Wonder Woman’s mother, was once a previous holder of the ladybug miraculous. When Fu activated the miraculous and put them in circulation, Hippolyta could feel its magic waking back up. Knowing there must a reason for it to be out, she sent a message to her daughter. Diana searched, finding Marinette and Adrien as the present holders of the ladybug and cat miraculous. She vouched and brought them into the Young Justice program while they also made their own team, Project: Zodiac (or something like that).
[Sometime when Diana takes Marinette to meet Hippolyta]
“Great Hera, Tikki, you have not aged a day” -Hippolyta, cause she does know how to make joke.
“And I would say the same to you” -Tikki
“Mother, you can make a laugh?” -Wonder Woman, honestly a bit confused cause her mom have never not been serious before.
And Marinette is just speechless cause she’s starstruck meeting Wonder Woman’s mom AND a previous Ladybug holder.
_
2) “Rockstar Niece”
Jagged Stone is Marinette’s Sweet Uncle J. During the summers, Jagged Stone would take Mari with him on tour. HIs summer tours are throughout America, so Mari gets to sightsee the country. Jagged’s first tour that he gets to take Mari on (5-ish), he’s also booked for the annual (for whatever reason) Wayne Summer Gala. When Marinette meets the Waynes, they are so enamoured (Dick and Tim couldn’t help it) that they tell Jagged he’s always invited as a guest, Mari of course being added to the permanent guest list too. About 6 years later, Mari is practically adopted, spending the first half of her summers with Jagged, going to the Wayne Gala, then spending the rest of her summer with the Waynes. Overtime, she figured out the secrets of the family and was there to welcome Jason back from the dead (when that happens). Anyways, now 11(-ish?) Mari meets Damian and the two become good friends… after an… impressionable first meeting.
“Tch, let me guess, you’re another one of father’s adopted strays” -Dami
“YOU MUST BE DAMIAN!!! DICK TOLD ME ABOUT YOU!!” -Marinette, who just ignores what he said for a hug.
“hiiiiiiiiissssssss” -Dami, touchy with touch
“...” sprays water in his face since he decided to act like a cat.
“I say, Master Bruce, the children are getting along quite well” -Alfred
_
3) “Pen Pals”
Jon Kent and Marinette Dupain-Cheng are part of an international pen-pal program, starting when they were very young (maybe like 4 or 5-ish, super super young) where they told each other everything (Jon can’t just say that his older bro is a clone made from Superman and Lex Luthor’s DNA, or that his dad is Superman, or that his best friend is Robin, but yea. Lois and Clark probably proofread his stuff until he’s like 9) with pictures and everything. When they’re old enough to get phones & stuff, they call, text and vid-chat along with their letters (love without blood). When Mari is maybe 9-11 (somewhere around there) she starts flying over during the summers to hangout with Jon (and his friends and big brother). While there, she meets Kon, Bat fam, and Clark (some who she already knew, some who she didn’t) & lightly hints that she knows who all they are once she figures it out (it didn’t take her long to do so).
Now whenever she visits and is at Wayne Manor (Jon likes to have sleepovers practically every weekend) while they’re on patrol, Mari subtly messes with their minds (super subtle, they’re the world’s best detectives after all) until they finally look through the cams and see Mari giving them one of those smiles (those shit-grinning cause it’s just so hilarious how it’s gone on for so long) & and a playful wink.
[5 seconds later]
“Mari!” “Pixie-pop!” “Angel!” “Teacup!”
“Seriously, am I the only one with a normal nickname for her?” -Tim
“Ms. Marinette would like to inform you that ‘it took you long enough’” -Alfred (who so knows that the girl has been playing them since the third night she stayed at the Wayne’s)
“Where are my adoption papers?” -Bruce (who is seriously adopting any talented black-haired child)
_
4) “Mari and Mar’i”
When Mar’i is young, Dick and Kori take her with them to see Paris (btw, this would be during the winter). They’re strolling along through a park and lose track of Mar’i who finds Marinette (9-10 ish). Marinette comforts and distracts Mar’i while noticing the young(er) girl is Tameranian (her hair is very warm and she’s wearing significantly less layers than should be worn for a human of that age during the winter, plus that sun-kissed skin tone. She’s seen Kori in her fashion magazines (and, from time to time, on the news as an ambassador) so she easily make the connections). Dick and Kori finally spot Mar’i with Mari who introduces herself to them. Mar’i asks if she can see her “Auntinette” again and Marinette just goes “if your parents are okay with it.” Dick and Kori are totally cool with it (not many are willing to watch her and have the time to do it) so they ask Marinette if she can babysit Mar’i whenever (with good pay of course) if she’s up to it (cause she’s still pretty young). Marinette can’t say no to Mar’i’s babydoll eyes (and she’s so much easier compared to Manon, who’s only 2 rn), so of course, she says yes.
Now Marinette is Mar’is official babysitter and sees Mar’i often whenever her parents drop her off (using zeta tubes to quickly get to Paris and back). Marinette gets treated like an honorary Wayne (cause she’s the most responsible) and gets invited to their family stuff (w/ travel pay taken care of, of course). It doesn’t take her long to realize the fact that she babysits Bruce Wayne’s & BATMAN’S granddaughter, but of course, being the responsible one she is, keeps the secret… while also playing with them via Mar’i.
[One Day]
After Marinette leaves for her plane…
“Uncle Dami!”
“Yes, Spawn?”
“Auntinette said to tell you after she left that Robin’s sut needs a major upgrade & that you look like a traffic light… whatever that’s supposed to mean.”
[Another Day]
“Uncle Jay!”
“What’s up kid?’
“Auntinette said that to let you know that Red Hood doesn’t make any sense ‘cause Red Hood wears a helmet. Not a hood.”
[The next time]
“Uncle Tim!”
Yawn. “yea?”
“Auntie told me to give you this” (pulls out super caffeinated coffee) “and that Red Robin’s cowl is a menace to all things fashion”
[Again…]
“Daddy!”
“Yes, Starshine?”
“Auntienette said she’s proud of Nightwing’s costume ‘cause it’s one of the only in the batfam that isn’t an astro-city to the fashion society.”
_
5) “Marinette, the one who’s always getting chosen”
Before Mari became (becomes(?)) LB, she comes across a different powerful piece of jewelry, from a different order of guardians where her will of mind is not only her shield from being akumatized, but it is also what drives her powers. That’s right, Mari walks past a flea market and activates a GL ring. The guardians pick up on this activity and send Hal (it is his sector) to check it out. Hal finds the ring with Mari but it still needs the light of a GL to charge and fully work.
[During the explanation]
“Look, kid-”
“Marinette.”
“Look, kid, I just need to know why you have that ring.”
“You think I know? I was just walking through the market and all of a sudden, this possessed ring, if that’s even what this is, started following me, then zipped in front of my face til i held my hand up so it can put itself on my finger.”
“Kid-”
“It’s MARINETTE. Get it wrong one more time and you’ll see why I don’t need a possessed piece of alien jewelry.” -Marinette, making sure you get her name right. “Besides, if I stole it, I would remember. I’m a klepto” -Marinette, probably holding his ring too at this point.
Hal obviously doesn’t want the wrath of the Dupain-Chengs (just the kid Marinette scares him enough), so he tells the guardians that JL will take care of most of Mari’s training (once they get her a lamp for her ring, of course) & has her take part in training at Mt. Justice with the Young Justice team and special training with the Bats. Mari does all this under the guise of an international student exchange program for Mari to stay with the Waynes (not yet knowing that it’s the bat fam) and attends G.A. Mari doesn’t do much, but it takes her 24-36 hours to know who EVERYONE is.
[the next week after settling in]
“Hey, Mars,” -Dick, in his Nightwing gear
“Hey, Di-is the GREATEST SHOW!” -Mari, changing the subject(… not really)
“How long did it take you?”
“Not as long as the Kryptonians…” -Mari, going off into a tangent (still trying to change the subject”
[When Marinette meets Tikki]
Back in Paris:
“Sooo… I’m getting powerful jewelry that gives me powers and a suit, needs to be recharged, and comes from some Order of the Guardians? What’s the difference between you and my ring?” -Marinette, who at this point is very confused as to why she keeps getting picked on for this kind of stuff.
“One’s alien, one’s magic” -Tikki, hoping Mari will end it there & lowkey hates that the GL Corp. got to her first.
“They’re both non-human made energy sources” -Mari, cause once you’ve seen it once, you’ve seen it all before.
“You can’t heal the Akuma without the miraculous, and there are more than just rings. Yours are earrings, there are hair clips, bracelets, necklaces and more” -Tikki, after having a minute to think
“Fine, only because you said they’re the only way to heal the, what was it again, akuma?”
_
6) “Their Unofficial Official Barista”
Part of Tim’s job as Co-CEO, is to make sure all the branches are running smoothly, sometimes that means he has to fly abroad to manually check in. Tim goes to Paris to check on the W.E. Paris branch. He goes to a nearby Patisserie (Tom and Sabine’s) to see a young Marinette (somewhere from 8-11) drawing in her sketchbook at the counter. She explains that her parents are at a catering event, but she’s there to man the little bakery. Tim asks for a super caffeinated coffee and Marinette makes it with ease, claiming it was on the house with how bad he looks (and how much sleep the man clearly needs). Tim begs for her knowledge and asks if she can teach his butler. Mari’s willing to show him the next time he comes, so he gets the whole fam to go (viz tubes so they don’t waste time) maybe a week later. Everyone gets their own drink (plus a free pastries) and Marinette teaches Alfred her coffee, but it’s just not the same so Tim, using the tubes, goes to get coffee from the girl whenever he can.
Mari is horrible at getting up on time (the life of an insomniac, never getting to sleep even if you want and then barely waking up on time) that she is up super early, makes Tim his coffee (plus a croissant) and tries to go back to sleep (making her inevitably late). Tim would walk up to the pick-up counter where his cup and to-go bag is while Marinette runs out of the house to get to school. Eventually, the rest of the Batfam (as well as the Laegue, TT, and YJ) frequent the place, slowly becoming (Dami too) Mari hides it, but she knew all the batfam the first day they came and she showed Alfred how to make the coffee. When the others start making more regular appearances, she learns the identities of YJ team, WW, GLs, and others. Obviously when LB and CN appear as heroes with HM as their villain, they immediately reach out to help. Because 1. Batfam clearly notices that it’s Mari and they sure as heck won’t let her deal with that by herself, and 2. The JL is worrying too much about their favorite barista (even though she’s not really one), especially with the Gigantitan scare. So, of course LB & CN (can’t make him bad everytime) get inducted into YJ.
[After Ladybug finishes defeating Gigantitan and detransforms]
“Bean! Are you okay? You’re not hurt, are you?” -Tim, being an even more protective older brother than Dick, which shouldn’t be possible
“Yes, I promise. I’m fine” -Marinette, who just accepts the fact that she’s adopted an older brother (and his famliy)
“Tube over, we’ll have Alfred make sure” -Dick, already pulling out the medical supplies for Alfred.
“I-”
“You shouldn’t worry your brothers like that, Marinette. Now come over so Alfred can clear you,” -Bruce, who just happens to overhear the conversation
“I’m sorry, Miss Marinette, they are very adamant that you’re in pitch perfect health before going out again,” -Alfred, who’s not actually sorry
“Fine” -Marinette, accepting her fate of her adopted, protective family.
_
7) “Thicker Than the Blood We’ve Shed”
Why is Marinette so freakishly strong? Because she was trained to be. Before she could even talk, Mari was taught to be an assassin. She and Damian were frenemies, both competing for top spot as best in the League (of Assassins). They often spared together and became rivals who pushed each other (which sounds great in that context if you forget about the fact that they’re killing people and turning it into a competition). When Damian’s care is turned over to Batsy, Mari also comes along for the ride. She implements herself into Dami’s classes at G.A. & watches him from afar. (Damian, not being an idiot, of course knows all this and knows that it’s probably for Mari to give a report to Talia.) When he becomes Robin, Mari obviously knows, but waits to see if anything drastic would happen (his care was given to the Batfam, they had already expected this to happen.) She then heard word of the bounty Talia put on Damian’s head. Marinette knew there wouldn’t be much she could do to help, but she ave Dami a warning about the upcoming situation before fleeing the country.
From there she got to France, changed her name (it wasn’t originally Marinette, it was Shénqí, chinese for miraculous/magical (or something else if you want)), was adopted by Tom & Sabine, and left her time in the League in the past. When she received Tikki, she didn’t want to be a hero because she didn’t think she deserved it after her up-bringing. Eventually, she did become LB (being a trained assassin does help with lucky charms, considering she was taught how to kill with basically every and anything), and life was good for her. Then Rossi came.
[Gotham field trip]
While at Wayne Tower…
“How idiotic are they?” -Damian, who after reuniting with his long-lost sister-from-a-different-mister (yes, Marinette was able to convince him to say it once), can’t understand the stupidity she has to deal with.
“Are you Robin?” -Mari, who is too tired, so just goes straight into the analogy
“Yes.” -Obvious and simply is.
“Exactly” -Mari, who can’t even put a limit to the amount of thought the one brain cell the class shares doesn’t use. I mean please, the so-called “reporter” believed that the first cosplayer she saw was the actual LB when they don’t even have the same hair! And let’s not forget the origins arc, where LB’s first citizen save was Chloe.
