Adelaide, Cora, Eugene and Gerard, 3 and 8!

3. I think everyone in this household is happy when there’s a holiday because it means no one has to work, and they’re glad to spend time together and with the kids! I never did think over the holidays much in this world (maybe I’ll expand upon that in the future), but I think they’d have a few that are either because of the birth of Ronove (tfw when you name a country after a demon lmao), celebrations of people for their accomplishments, etc. A lot of political ones. But I think they’d have some traditional ones from the past that would still be around.Most of my worlds can be guaranteed a harvest celebration of some kind. I’m a sucker for that transition from summer to autumn, and the food that comes with it. So I think that they’d definitely have a lot of foods. Gavin would still be around as cook, but I can imagine Cora attempting to bake some kind of pudding that her father used to make. I’m sure they have a few gift-giving holidays, too. In which case, Gerard would reason the kids should only have one big gift and candy, but everyone else would say, “to hell with that, let’s spoil them!” (Gerard’s reason is money. They’re not exactly rich, and there are five children plus so many nieces and nephews to deal with.)Cora would be pinching pennies for said occasion. She’d be the one to take all the kids out to pick out the gifts for everyone else, and then she’d slip off with Eugene to buy the kids their gifts.Eugene would drag out all his family’s traiditional decorations, but I think his sister would be the one who puts them out. Adelaide would help her, mostly to goof off. It wouldn’t be much. They have some candles and a wreath, perhaps, and a few trinkets to set on a table in the great room. Nothing fancy - they can’t afford it.Mostly I think it’d be a huge family bonding time. Eugene’s siblings and their kids (including Thaddeus, his wife, and their son) along with Adelaide’s brother’s family would be there. They’d mostly eat and sing. Gerard and Thaddeus would take a lot of pictures. :’) Gerard wants to capture all those important moments. I think Cora would get into the gift-giving the most. Eugene would want to, but he doesn’t have the kind of time Cora does. Gerard’s too stingy, and Adelaide would goof off too much in department stores. It’s kind of weird ‘cos that whole thing goes outside the poly ship, but...that’s what happens when you have so many family members living in the same house? xD8. Before the kids are around (because you know they’d end up following the path with extra long pauses at the KIDS’ fave animals)...um. That’s a good question. Eugene seems like a person who’d like solitary big cats. Gerard likes dogs, so maybe something equivelant to their world’s wolves or African hunting dogs? Cora would enjoy the petting zoo. I don’t doubt she has good memories of her father taking her to petting zoos and nearby fairs and whatnot. She likes feeding goats and holding baby pigs and scooping up baby chicks. This probably isn’t as wonderful when they do have kids and Isolda (Christine’s oldest) and Paget kind of...take in a stray goat. So the novelty probably wears off real quick after that. :’) Cora probably also likes rabbits, too, and guinea pigs. I can see her secretly wanting some, but she figures it would be a bad fit for their household. Their kids are good with animals, sure--everyone makes sure to teach them how to handle and respect animals--but I can see her thinking the house is a little too rowdy and crowded. Adelaide would love monkeys. You know she would. The little ones who get into all sorts of mischief. She’d dig that. She probably likes reptiles, amphibians, and fish, too. I can see her falling in love with alligators and crocodiles and caimen. She also strikes me as someone not fussed at all by insects. She thinks they’re pretty. I bet she loves beetles and dragonflies and is disappointed they aren’t really kept at zoos - but they hang around outside so she enjoys seeing them in the zoo’s gardens.

(and would have died anyway from old age before THC took place had they not been killed and revived.) - Ewan is aroace - Lilian is ace, panromantic - Niven is gay - Seth is a lesbian - Bertina is Seth’s girlfriend at least for a short part of the story - Dunn is probably bi, maybe gay  - Nathan and Brycen are married - Tessa and Syra are lesbian dragon deities for which the entire story centers - Methla’s a lesbian - One of Ewan’s sisters is a lesbian, I fucking forgot which one since Nathan is the only sibling of his that shows up repeatedly Stargazers’ Hill - Yeah one gay character dies for crossing the main villain, but his murderer gets shot by a lesbian so there’s that? - Ambrose is pan, non-binary (he’s fine with he/him pronouns, he’s not fully aware of how to explain his dysphoria) - Thaddeus is bi - Evelyn is bi, but it’s really “lesbians and Ambrose” and Ambrose is nb sooo... - Avery is gay - Silas is gay - Eugene is gay - Gerard is gay - Cora is a lesbian - Adelaide is a lesbian - Malakai is bi - And though Irene married Grant, had a child with him, lost Grant when her son was a year old, and remarried to Glynn later... I am always going to OT3 Irene/Grant/Glynn because Grant and Glynn would’ve gotten along FINE...but all Thaddeus’ parents had to be dead or missing for the sake of the story whoops. But this isn’t in the story except that one time when:

Your fathers weren’t together.”            “I don’t think Mom would have minded if they had been,” said Thaddeus honestly. “If Mom could have been with them both at the same time, it would have made her happy, because she loved them both. And if they had loved each other, I’m sure that would have been even better for her.” Planetary Boundaries - No deaths of main characters, but there are deaths in like...sweeping tragedies, and that might affect one het pairing - Bianca is a lesbian - Andy and Lucinda are lesbians - Dion is gay but like...ace gay (I’m not done with figuring out all the characters, and quite a few are pretty young, so I don’t know yet) Xavier series (Perdition, Necropolis, Atonement, etc) - all Incubi and Succubi are omnisexual... in fact, all Angels and Devils are (minus Imps, who are always childlike in appearance, and Muses aren’t sexual at all but do fall in love, so omniromantic? I guess?)  - Xavier is ace (yes, he’s an Incubus) - Basically all non-human characters are omni, so you have Clarissa, Bernado, Eloise, Todd*, etc. - * Todd is an asexual trans Incubus - Zach is bi - Clarissa x Zach x Xavier is OT3, originally this wasn’t the intention but by Necropolis, I found out they were a poly ship and I am down with that (especially since Clarissa and Xavier used to be enemies kind of?) The Will of the Whispering - I have a poly ship with Lester x Nasaah x Mildred (but uh. Lester. Oops. I do him a big wrong, especially as the protag.)  - most of the characters are children, but Kahtte does grow up to marry a man, and Sylvia is a lesbian Casimir’s Library - I do kill off an entire city, and that includes some gay characters (though one of Barnaby’s fathers survives, and he doesn’t find out till later) - basically my characters end up orphans from this event, so every het, gay, lesbian suffers. Only four kids survive (Barnaby, Luca, Leander, and Felix). After this event, no one else dies.  - Flynn’s a lesbian  - Leander always struck me as a gay kid, but he’s...also a kid? Though I time skip to Barnaby’s future, and Barnaby has a wife and five children by then, so no reason to think Leander didn’t find a husband and settle down - Plus there are plenty of gay couples around the village the kids escape to It’s really bad that in these mostly gay rosters, I have to grimace at killing off any of them with the whole trope deal? And boy do I kill off a lot of characters NOT on this list.

When it’s published, I hope it can reach out to people. I’m working on some changes in the story to make things more clear about Ambrose and his relationships with people. I rewrote some of the ending, too, to include more of Avery and Glynn.  I hope readers will love the characters and hurt and feel joy with them, as wrong as that might sound to say.  I’m excited to show off the cover that Mattie has so painstakenly been working on. She’s done brilliantly and gone above and beyond. The WIPs are fantastic and I wish I could show them off.  I hope that in the process of editing this and getting a chance to share it again, that I’ll find it in me to be proud of it again. In at least a small form, if it can’t be a big one. Also, it has a ton of queer characters... And out of the people who’ve read it, they’re all big Silas fans. I must have done something right with his character. I just hope there will be people to love Thaddeus, Eve, Ambrose, Christine, Eugene, Cora, Gerard, ADELAIDE (we should all really love Adelaide), and Malakai.

I also have one aroace side character, but he doesn’t count because he’s a side character tbh I’ve been fearful that I might get yelled at if this book becomes popular because Thaddeus and Ambrose are platonic, and yet they hold hands and stuff a lot in the beginning? And I’m afraid I’ll get told off for q/ue/er/ba/it/ing but uh. See above list? There’s not exactly a lack. :’)

25. The OC that resembles you the most (same hobby, height, shared like/dislike for something etc?)

I have no idea. My first thought was Xavier? Dion shares a gaming hobby, but he's built and I'm not (he's also super tall), and I'm not sure how much the similarities continue outside of hobbies. But Xavier is probably about my height, has my same problems with overbathing, loves rabbits, tends to be childish, and is kind of a masochist.

26. Have you ever had to change your OC’s design or something else about them against your will?

This is kind of expected with all stories and characters to some extent, isn't it? They always go and do their own thing, they change like they're separate beings. They've tossed my plots into the garbage and shocked me with weird personalities.

Thaddeus was originally going to be an earth spirit sent to observe humans. That changed a lot. I don't think that was entirely against my will, it just naturally morphed. It worked out much better.

Another thing was that I remember wanting Thaddeus and Ambrose to be platonic but demonstrate physical affection like hugging and kissing without shame as two boys? And for a bit, it kind of seemed like they might couple up despite that. They ultimately remained as they were supposed to, but the one who shocked me was Eugene! He was going to marry Adelaide. I figured that was the end of it. I had no idea he was gay. I didn't understand what was totally going on when I was writing the tension between Gerard, Cora, and Eugene...until basically it hit me. I later edited in some changes to smooth it out, but it came out of nowhere. It wasn’t against my will, because I’ve learned to go with the characters, but I didn’t expect Eugene and his circle to become so important to the story. :’) (Now Eugene’s one of my fave characters.)

27. Any OCs that were inspired by a certain song?Nah, I don’t recall that ever happening. Usually, I connect a song with an OC or pairing after their creation.28. Your most dangerous OC?To avoid spoilers, I’ll say “probably some villians in Cashmere”, but if you want to go with main characters, probably Lester.Lester has killed people without feeling remorse. They were people who did bad things, and he used that as justification. There was no regret later. He didn’t talk about it. He didn’t feel eaten up inside by it. I can pass him off as a fatherly type, but the man is also a bounty hunter who kills wild animals not for food but to protect the region he lives in. It pays, and he’s good at it. He learned to hunt as a child.But damn, he has used that against humans and his race as well. (He’s not human but part of a race called the Jacanan.) He has also built up a militia. So there’s that, too.(I did think of Hugo just now, too, because like Cashmere, he has power and influence. But he’s also a villian, and not a main character...but Lester is efficient and quiet. So I think that might make him more dangerous.)29. Which one of your OCs would go investigate an abandoned house at night without telling anyone they’re going?Cassidy and Basil would pull this shit, together. She knows how to use a sword and martial arts.Boris would do a good job, though, because he can exorcise demons and deals with ghosts all the time.
