Going non-verbal
Doom breaker headcanons
When you get so overwhelmed you just stop talking altogether, how are they reacting?
Warnings: ooc, self indulgence, temporary non-verbal issues, very short piece because it's very spontaneous and I'm tired.
Author's note: going through one of those rough patches, so of course writing a comfort piece is a solution! Very fluffy thing, I should get to Ned's NSFW alphabet poor guy, he gets zero attention yet he's my favourite...
Knows how to comfort you without even asking, knowing by heart all your likes and dislikes, can even guess what overwhelmed you: Zephyr, Altair.
Prefers to check every time with a simple "yes or no" question system, asking what you need and letting you answer by shaking or nodding your head: Ned, Lucius, Dariel.
Is pretty much lost, leaves you alone to deal with it thinking you need space, but will stay if you manage to communicate that you want them close: Fade.
Is pretty much lost, stays by your side to comfort you and wait for you to give them directions somehow, will leave if you manage to let them know you wish to be alone: Ophelia.

Raging Crystals and A Sacred Oath (DBS x MementoMori)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, I decided to return to doing traditional art like I had done in the past, so I drew Vegeta and Broly as Queen Amleth of the Kingdom of Vyde and Ophelia, [The Witch of Fallen Crystals]!
Basically I used crayons (I’m not gonna shell out my wallet on expensive pencils and the like) and my expertise to create the scenes. Sorry if the Vegeta pic looks like it’s rushed TT-TT
If you think about it, both scenes come together to make the battle between Vegeta and Broly at the Crystal altar, with Broly readying his sword Bloodlust; a blade that takes the lives of tyrants (Which I based on the Buster Sword from FFVII), while Vegeta prepares to unsheathe Supernova, a sword that embodies the loyalty and heroism of a ruler.
I’d love to redraw these two digitally, and I’d love to hear your opinion!
Special thanks to @lunartearrose and @artisticangel!

Ophelia: Isn't it weird how quiet it is? Ophelia: It feels like I forgot something. Amleth: If you forgot something, maybe it wasn't important. Natasha and Cerberus standing in the parking lot of a McDonalds, waiting for the Duke to come pick them up:

honestly it's a real shame that shakespeare never included hermuthruda in his adaptation of hamlet because we got robbed of the chance to see the goth scottish girlboss owning the narrative with her emo danish malewife at her side

Spent 2 hours watching this movie going "huh, this is a lot like Hamlet. Funny, even the guy's name sounds like Hamlet." Turns out. I'm watching the Norse myth of Amleth. Ya know. The Norse myth HAMLET WAS BASED OFF OF. No one's talking about this? We talk about Hamlet all the damn time and no one thought to say "btw, he ripped off a Norse myth. Just moved the H around and killed Ophelia." She doesn't die in the original myth, folks. It's just Shakespeare out here fridging and moving Hs around.

Ok, finished the story of Valkyria Revolution today.
The combat isn't that good imo, also the boss fights are just damage sponges.
I like the voice acting and the story, even though it doesn't really have much to do with the Chronicles games/
Not the worst game I played this year, also nowhere near the best.
Ophelia and Amleth never kiss
Characters are
Violette Szand
Princess Ophelia Augusta Al Jutland
Miranda Vilfort
Helena Anderson
Briggite Ulrik
Sara Benner
Tilda Gade
Brunhilde the Valkyria

It's a real shame all of Memento Mori's character stuff are in the songs, because Amleth and Ophelia have a really gay ass engaging storyline that will never be developed outside said songs

Alright this is going to sound weird at firts. But how about the doom breaker guys and girls (who ever you are comfortable with). Receiving a very explicit picture of their S/O while they are in a mission.
Only if you are comfortable with it of course
Dear I've written straight up smut, power dynamics and even a prey-predator (non sexual) one shot once, this is probably one of the most normal things I have on this blog. But thank you for being considerate, it's very much appreciated!
Spicy pics
Doom breaker headcanons.
Feat. Ned, Altair, Ophelia, Lucius
Warnings: implied nsfw, use of magic to make spicy self portraits, use of magic to teleport said portraits, characters being needy af, maybe ooc.
Author note: I'm sorry if you wanted a modern day scenario, I like to mess around with magic and its possible uses. The idea is that reader is a magician or sorcerer or magic-able person that can conjure images on paper and then teleport them to someone or somewhere.
Ned
When the paper scroll materialises itself in his hands, he gets really happy. You have a habit of sending him letters through your magic whenever he's away.
You didn't tell him you recently learned a spell to conjure pictures. So he when he starts opening the scroll he's surprised to see your face, but smiles softly.
Until he sees the full image.
He gets visibly flustered and averts his gaze from the paper he's holding... but looks at it again after a few seconds, unable to resist the sight.
He's putting that scroll away in a safe place, where he keeps your letters... Although maybe he should consider finding a different place, more hidden. He'll talk to you about timing once he's back.
He never gets used to it, no matter how many times you do this. Every time he gets all red in the face and with a problem to solve... Which can be a bit embarrassing if he's teaming up with someone else.
He's super touchy once he comes back to you and very much needs your attentions. The fact that he had to wait until he finished the mission makes him much weaker to your touches later.
Altair
She gets flustered of course, who would have expected to receive such a thing?
Not that she complains though.
She conjures a message that she sends back, scolding you about your indecency and lack of shame.
She does mention a punishment though... Wonder what that is about huh?
You'll have fun finding out once she's back.
Then she establishes a new rule to correct your misbehaviour: every time you send her a spicy portrait while she's on a mission, you have to recreate it when she's back. Not on paper.
Useless to say this doesn't really work to stop you.
The party is worried about her health, as of recently she always heads straight to her quarters as soon as they get back from a mission, is she that tired all the time?
You know she's not by all the energy she puts into scolding you.
Ophelia
The first time she almost tears the scroll apart. She was very surprised to receive such a provoking portrait of you.
She manages not to and puts it in a safe place, then hurries to finish the mission to get back to you. That was quite bold of you dear, once she sees you there will be consequences...
She sort of gets used to it over time, still getting flustered but managing to control her reaction.
She even tries looking indifferent (she really doesn't), especially when there are other people around.
Other people can even tell at this point that you're sending her something particular because when you do, she is very quick to deal with the mission.
She scolds you every time she comes back... But most times end with you two in bed together, with varying levels of nudity involved. You teased her after all...
Lucius
He's very worried about someone else seeing it of course so he hides he portrait the moment he sees it. What he doesn't hide is how much into it he is.
Sure the timing isn't great since he's on a mission, but he doesn't mind it at all.
He sends you back a message of appreciation for this "token of your affection".
And when he comes back he's anything but a saint, acting like he's scolding you but subtly teasing you.
Wish I could say that he tells you to not do it in the future, but he doesn't.
If anything, he encourages you, directly and indirectly, to continue with this scandalous behaviour.

h*mlet’s confessions of love to ophelia:
Doubt thou the stars are fire, Doubt that the sun doth move, Doubt truth to be a liar, But never doubt I love.   (II.II.124-127)
O dear Ophelia, I am ill at these numbers. I have not art to reckon my groans, but that I love thee best, O most best, believe it.  (II.II.128-130)
I loved Ophelia. Forty thousand brothers Could not with all their quantity of love Make up my sum. What wilt thou do for her?   (V.I.285-287)
h*mlet’s confessions of love to h*ratio:
Horatio, thou art e’en as just a man As e’er my conversation coped withal.  (III.II.56-57)
Since my dear soul was mistress of her choice And could of men distinguish, her election Hath sealed thee for herself.   ....  Give me that man That is not passion’s slave, and I will wear him In my heart’s core, ay, in my heart of heart, As I do thee.  (III.II.59-79)

The Northman
Some background info on the new Robert Eggers movie The Northman from someone who loves Scandinavian legends:
The basic summary is Amleth taking revenge on his uncle Feng (Fjölnir in the movie) for killing his father, the ruler of Jutland & marrying his mother. Sounds familiar? That is because Shakespeare’s Hamlet is based on this!
The story is set in the 10th century (the Viking Age), which is accurate according to scholars; but the earliest sources are from the 12th century, Saxo Grammaticus being the main one (who Latinicised the story). Then it travelled through Europe, and got to Britain through France merely a couple of decades before Shakespeare used it as the basis of his play. Through this process, it changed from a fornaldarsaga revenge story to a chivalric romance and then to the modern tragedy we all know today.
There are a couple of versions of the story existing through Scandinavia, but the main story is this: Amleth fakes madness to act out his revenge, gets caught & exiled to Britain, marries a Scottish “evil” queen (most likely “Halldora the Pict” played by Kate Dickie who was also in Eggers' other movie, The VVitch) then kills his uncle but dies shortly after as the English king acts out revenge. One other saga that is similar is Hrólf saga kraka but I disagree with the interpretation that it was a source for Shakespeare. These "eye for an eye" stories were super popular in Scandinavia, especially Icelandic sagas. The Northman will most likely be a combination of the “original” versions of the Amleth legend and Shakespeare, with a lot of creative freedom.
The reason why I say this is because of Anya Taylor-Joy’s character Olga in the trailer: she is completely made up but obviously based on Ophelia, put into a Viking Age context. She seems to be a magic user but based on her name (and accent), I’d guess she’s a Slavic slave therefore it’s not Icelandic/ Old Norse magic (seiðr); but Björk’s and Ingvar Sigurdsson’s characters are probably a völva & seiðmann respectively. Other characters in the cast list are also unfamiliar to me - I wonder if they’re combining other sagas/legends into the story too? Either way, I hope that Norse mythology, magic and folklore will have a significant role in the story.
The script was co-written by Sjón, an Icelandic writer & poet who was also associated with Björk’s old band The Sugarcubes under the pseudonym “Johnny Triumph” (man, the 80s were something else). Here they are performing together for those interested! Iceland is a small island I guess :p
Speaking of Björk, I am so happy that she’s acting in this considering I’m a massive fan but I don’t think she’s gonna be in it for more than 5 minutes unfortunately.

A. A.’s First Holy Night- A MementoMori Tale
During the days leading up to the Holy Night Festival in The Duchy of Fran, everyone wants to participate in a gift exchange- except A. A. Will she ever find the perfect present for Mertillier?
Snow fell like petals from a cherry blossom tree onto the little country known as The Duchy of Fran. It was winter, and everyone was looking forward to The Holy Night Festival- a time when everyone shared the spirit with loved ones. And this year wouldn’t be any different- girls known as witches were hurrying about the streets looking for beautiful gifts to share with their friends and family.
“Oh, big sis would love that!”, said a little girl with blue hair in pigtails and a teddy bear, pointing to a massive stuffed penguin in the store window. “Master would definitely be wanting that!” Another little girl said as she pointed to a beautifully crafted sled in another window. Their names were Soltina and Nina- and they weren’t alone. They were accompanied by their friends, looking for stuff for the gift exchange.
But one girl stood at the shop window and sighed. Her red eyes shone like rubies, and she had a gear for a halo. Her name was A. A., which is short for “Artificial Angel”- and she was a Homunculus. This was to be her very first Holy Night Festival, but she had no idea on what it was. “Maybe the Professor would like this?”, she said, pointing to what looked like a chemistry kit. “I’m sure that whatever you give Mertillier, she’d love it.” Replied the Duke of Fran.
“But I want it to be from the heart.” Little A said as she held the Duke’s hand. “I’m sure you’ll find the perfect something.”, he replied as he helped up A. A. onto his shoulders and they began to walk around the town. First, they came across Rean and her friend group at a market stall. “I think we should get some new watercolors for Cherna, a new watering can for Natasha, and probably a stationery set for Amour!” Rean said as she looked through it.
“I don’t think the Professor would like any of these.” A. A. Replied as she let out a sad sigh. “Don’t lose hope. I’m sure we’ll find something that she’ll love.” The Duke replied as he and Little A walked towards the next stall. There was Queen Amleth of The Kingdom of Vyde, who had found a beautiful new chess set for Ophelia, her faithful knight. And not just that, Florence from the Holy See of Hainz had picked up a snowglobe for Fortina. “Hmmmm… don’t see anything.” A. A. said as she moved onto the stall.
Finally, they came to the fountain in the square, which had frozen over. Carol was there, working on a scrapbook that she was making for Rusalka. “Oh! Didn’t see you there, Senpai. And you too, Little A.” She replied cheerfully as one of the butterflies landed on the scrapbook. “May I see your scrapbook?” The Homunculus girl replied. “Absolutely. I’m almost done with it, though.” Carol replied as she let A. A. Flip through the scrapbook.
After finishing the currently incomplete scrapbook, A. A. Felt a spark light up inside her. “I know what to give the Professor.” She said excitedly. “Thanks, Carol! Happy Holidays!” The Duke replied. “Anytime!!” Called Carol as she wrote down what had happened in her notebook. Back at The Duke’s estate, he and A. A. Worked together on Mertillier’s present. With crafting supplies and a photograph of Mert and Little A, they worked together to make a gift from the heart.
Later that night, everyone gathered at the mansion to exchange presents. There was a giant penguin doll for Lunalynn, a brand new glittery pair of dancing shoes for Hathor, and a new fire proof camera for Valeriede. Mertillier gave her present to Little A- a brand new set of winter gear to protect her from the cold. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it, Little A?” Asked Mertillier. “Professor, I have something for you, too.” A. A. Replied, showing a box wrapped in shiny paper. Excitedly; the Professor opened it up. Inside was a picture of her and the Homunculus she had grown to love like a daughter, framed with rhinestones and leftover scraps of foil, it was simple but beautiful.
Not long after that, the Professor and her Homunculus daughter went outside to watch the falling snow. “Thank you, Little A. Happy holidays.” She said tenderly as she let A. A. side hug her. “Happy holidays, Professor.” A. A. Said in return. Now Little A knew why everyone loved the Holy Night Festival so much.
The End
