a cover of "Panic Station" by Muse, ideally suited for chases through futuristic train platforms full of loop-de-loops and hostile robots!
usually I have a really hard time doing arrangements of existing songs, but I felt unusually motivated to tackle this one and managed to see it thought to completion! (took me a while because I kept spending too much time jamming out to what I already had done instead of working on the next parts lol)

This started off as just testing a cool bass sweep effect but turned into a whole song

This is actually a Demo-Track inspired by "RR Type4" music.
It's a few months old. A bit more BGM-like music.
Plus I made a quick cover art with one of my sketches of Reiko Nagase.
Hope you like it.😊✨

By no means a perfect tune, but I wanted to demonstrate the capabilities of OpenMPT's MIDI plugin in terms of output with PureData, hooking the two programs up via loopMIDI. Biggest issue is that latency is very buggy, being off several milliseconds, hence every other sample (played in the tracker itself) having a delay command. Not sure if it has to do with MPT itself or the system? MIDI keyboards have proven to work fine with pd. Dunno. At least MPT is open source. :) Either way, it's a really cool thing to see in action.
The more I type out this post, the more addictive the song comes, btw.

Experimented with sampling
Samples used were from some songs I made on Wii Music xd
Couldn't decide whether or not I liked the Hammerhead drums or the original drums I did so I tried to edit them together somehow

I will start sharing some of my OpenMPT music projects over here. Starting with this cover of the song "Premonition" (commonly known as "Omen") by Yasunori Mitsuda from Xenogears' OST.

finally finished music for Demon Dash level 1 I think... now just gotta make the level at some point lol. it's inspired by various bombastic first level/area themes in games like Mega Man X or non-linear Castlevanias, but while still trying to keep a Jazz Jackrabbit sound (vast majority of the samples is from JJ2 & JJ3 + it's an IT module). basically I wanted to make something that promises the start of a grand adventure

hey i finished a new song!! check it out!!
my prompt for starting this was essentially "i'm in a bad mood and i want to make music that'll fix that". apparently what that translated to was whatever genre "music that would make 9-year-old me think they could do a backflip off the swings at the park" is, but like... it DID cheer me up? so, mission accomplished? i hope you enjoy it too!

Basically every mod I ever made was in Octamed or Windows MED, neither of which have perfect support in players like VLC. So I just spent the past 4 months converting my aminet uploads (going back to like 1993) to XM (Thanks to OpenMPT), and reposting them back to Aminet. Now they'll at least sound like shit for the right reason.

I wanted to see if I could replicate that gritty analog stink of a garage band in OpenMPT and I think it's getting pretty close

Here's the second Teaser… actually it's the first track for this commission, still created in OpenMPT before I switched to Renoise and then to Ableton Live 11.

(yes it sounds a lot like VGM because i want to make mostly VGM so it is harder to present it to broader audiences but i like it so much, i like the complement between different mediums of art on different senses, how the experience of music can complement other experiences it's "packaged" with, and aaaa)
