lucretia is a moon spirit, which are spirits born from Moon’s magical influence on the world (Moon being the goddess… of the moon. and aspects of battle and some other stuff but mostly the moon). in her natural state, lucretia looks like a person made of varying colors of light, with the brightest points being her eyes. she can semi-manipulate the colors of the lights, mostly in ways that look like changing her clothes or dying her hair, but she doesn’t do it much bcus that takes energy and she’s more interested in doing other things. of course, being made of actual god magic, she can also transform into a more human-looking form, though the glowing eyes made of white light kind of give her true nature away.

she’s always admired the Book-keepers, which are the beings who record everything that happens to everyone. in an effort to replicate them, since Moon doesn’t ask much of her spirits other than “don’t fuck people up if you can help it,” she takes to her human form and wanders the world, traveling with those intertwined with the fate of the world and taking down their stories, down to pieces of conversation and minute details like how a great hero polished her armor after defeating a group of liches in order to get the skeleton scratches off. her collection is stored in a library deep in the woods where she was formed and has stories stretching back centuries, including the stories of how the current headmaster of central rose from a nothing to one of the most powerful people in the world.

her woods are actually on silver sands, which is the island that Central and several other prominent magic school are on, hidden away in the southeastern corner. she makes trips to the research centers and schools when she’s not actively following people to record. she actually starts picking up some wizard and cleric spells during her trips to Central and amasses quite the repertoire of magic to defend herself with.

at one point, she found angus hiding in her library after an omen ushered her home and she just kinda adopted him and started taking him on journeys with her.

Moon tends to give her signs when a new era of heroes is going to begin, so she points her towards Central when the story kicks off, which is how she got there. she happened to be off the island at the time and as she travels back she and angus meet magnus and julia and end up joining them. she's not super sure how to interact with their son (she’d only barely gotten used to angus, who is a very mature 11-year-old, and their child is like 3 or 4) but she tries her best.

I'm not sure if I can easily pick a favorite tbh. I know that sounds like a cop-out, but I typically choose to read stories based on who the characters/ships involved are and how well the thing is written as opposed to the tropes involved, though of course I like some more than others. What does always kill me dead, though, is friends-to-maybe lovers?-to-enemies-to-lovers, and permutations thereof. Like, a good established relationship being torn apart by circumstance or silly childishness until the two meet up again on opposite sides but still can't forget that closeness? FUCK. ME. UP. I'm trying to work on that in "You Were Cool."

Also, I'm garbage and so I like captivity narratives, but only when the author is really careful and portrays them well. I (hope that I) did that in "The Wanted." OH MY GOD and sickfic/healing each other's wounds!!! That shows up in a lot of mine, especially the drabbles.

And finally, I still haven't succeeded in writing a tattoo artist/flower shop AU but someday...

"M: What's the weirdest AU scenario you ever came up with? Did it turn into a story?"

I consider "The Wanted" to be kind of weird honestly but I come up with a lot of fleeting AUs that are very fun but that I'd never want to devote a longfic to for real. I LOVE to toy with the idea of a silly fun Ocean's 8 AU with the TAZ ladies, if nothing else than for imagining them in incredible Met Gala outfits and making them all best friends. Also..........Amnesty Moana AU. I have zero time to write it but it's good and I'm right.

As a fun fact, "ride to where the highway ends..." is not itself an AU, but the beginning scene was tweaked and repurposed from a scene I originally wrote as part of a canon divergence AU where Hurley and Sloane join the BOB and remember everything.

Um, great? Phenomenal? Amazing? I've gotten some in the past and screamed for five days. Idk what else to say but I love people engaging with my writing on such a deep level and interpreting it into a visual form, and if you ever want to you don't have to ask me for permission, just go for it and PLEASE SHOW ME.

"V: Are there certain comments you've received on your stories that have stuck with you?"

Oh, lots! One very recently (you probably know who you are and thank you again <3), and also I can specifically recall one that someone in the DDDDiscord left (I don't wanna call them out or embarrass them but I do cherish it), but pretty much any comment that tells me what they specifically enjoyed about the characterization (which is probably most important to me) will stay with me a long time.

Also, I got some that I still hold dear from WAY back in the day, back when I was writing my first fanfic for Soul Eater. (I mean like. I was regularly talking in forums on FFN. Old as balls.) I had a friendship with one person who was older than me at the time and whose writing style I admired SO MUCH, and we would both write each other these super long, multi-paragraph comments (since that was what you did back then when you really loved someone's work), and at the end of one of these long gushing comments on the last chapter of one of my multi-chapter fics, they wrote, "Never stop writing." And like goddamn...I rediscovered that recently and thought about how even back in my awful wangsty writing days I could strike people in that way and have the potential to do even more now that I've improved so much and yeah.

Anyway this got long as fuck but you probably expected that lmao enjoy!

okay. so. let’s just put this on the table where we can all see it:

taako: heir of mind

lup: maid of hope / prince of rage

barry: prince of heart

lucretia: rogue of light

merle: page of life

the hunger: lord of doom

controversial? maybe. am i right? also maybe.

i know technically you a space player to breed the genesis frog. but, alas. i do not care about canon.

so the birds play the game, and they win! they’re just about to claim the ultimate reward when something goes wrong, as things are wont to do. black opal begins to fall from the sky; dark tendrils crush the victory platform before anyone can even think to open the door and then turn towards the players.

the group just barely escapes to the furthest ring on one of prospit’s battleships as the hunger consumes their entire session.

the void between planar systems sessions is… wobbly. time and space aren’t linear there. the starblaster passes through the threshold between realities, and suddenly the veil is spread out before them.

well, not their version of the veil. this derse doesn’t have enough spires; further exploration reveals that there’s only three planets orbiting skaia. 

this isn’t their session. 

so! they make contact with its’ players: an owl, a wolf, and a bear.

since there’s nowhere for them to go when they go to sleep, the birds end up traveling thru dreambubbles. ghosts whisper rumors of the hunger, a virus that doesn’t just kill other sessions but overwrites them, passing on the “glitch.”

merle falls asleep one night and meets a man named john.

once upon a time john was just another kid who played sburb. upon learning the true nature of the game, he decided that if this was the only way to exist, then nothing should. he’s the glitch that corrupted his session’s code. john is to the hunger as caliborn is to lord english… that’s my hot take.

merle hears “living is suffering, existence is meaningless,” and gives john the proverbial finger. john “kills” him; merle wakes up. they continue like that for a while.

meanwhile, the group tries to ingratiate themselves into the session and help these players beat their game, but just as they’re is about to meet them on the victory platform, the hunger arrives once more. the royal beasts are consumed with their session. the starblaster flies away.

so the birds fly from session to session, trying to help out where they can and come up with contingencies for when they can’t. there’s one game where the players are mongooses; another where they’ve all died and implanted their souls into robots à la aradiabot. the hunger chases them thru the furthest ring, to each and every session, and overwrites them all.

lup and barry theorize that a hard reset might fix the corrupted files… so when they arrive in their 99th session, lucretia scratches it.

thirteen years later, taako, magnus, and merle play a game.

bonus: 

the crew of the starblaster went god tier, so they don’t age.

lup and barry got that tiger much earlier than anyone else, but since it’s much easier and more practical for your party to become conditionally immortal in hs, the others eventually follow suit. LOL.

i couldn’t figure out how to work the voidfish in but it’s definitely like… a baby horrorterror that magnus befriends, right? if you listen too closely to its whispers, it scrambles your brain. is this what happens to davenport? maybe?

lup and barry, out in a laboratory in the veil, manage to avoid the scratch; they’re stuck in the medium while the others get rewritten, forced to wait an entire decade for their friends to grow up all over again. lucretia, meanwhile, becomes a guardian.

or maybe not? if tres horny boys are official players, she and davenport would be too… maybe she’s just the de facto leader of their group.

carey, killian, avi, johann, and angus also play this last game of sburb with the boys.

where’s kravitz? he’s definitely there, somewhere. maybe he’s in the dreambubbles, guarding the dead, like aradia? perhaps.

the light of creation is this au’s “ultimate weapon" à la the juju in homestuck. it’s a tool that lets you edit the code of sburb on like… the game developer’s level. it’s a story editor. using that, the ultimate reward ends up becoming a new reality rather than a new universe - sort of like a scratch, but for the source code.

maybe that’s what the hunger is actually looking for? if it can snag the light then it can erase everything all at once.

johann is a muse of hope who inspires everyone to fight back, and lucretia and co. use the light to create a new reality - one with no sburb, and therefore no game-breaking entities like the hunger. everyone lives, mostly! no one dies, mostly. except for john. johnny voreboy definitely gets got.

a taz “The Good Place” au where in an effort to prove that people are even worse and life is even more meaningless than previously established, Bad Place architect John creates a revolutionary way of torturing souls in gathering 7 people (the IPRE crew ofc) and convincing them they’re actually in the Good Place—soulmates and everything included.

The twins are sure they don’t belong here, but hell if they’re gonna get found out and miss out on this partay, even if Lup’s soulmate is a big fucking Nerd and Taako’s (a torturer named Kravitz pretending to be a dead person) is a total drag (who is actually falling for this dead mortal!! against the orders of his assignment!!!)

Magnus is conflicted because apparently the Love of His Life, Julia, wasn’t his “real” soulmate, and it makes him feel bad that his “real” soulmate, Lucretia, totally deserves to be loved and he can’t bring himself to in any way except platonic (except Lucretia is conflicted because Magnus is a fantastic person and a great friend, but she’s falling in love with someone else’s soulmate (your choice. maybe Lup or Maureen)).

Barry feels way out of his depth with his fireball of a soulmate and he’s pushed wildly out of his comfort zone.

Davenport might actually be Janet lol OH SHIT OR MAYBE ANGUS (ango: ”I have been adopted by Taako”.  john, wreathed in black flame and splitting at the seams with black opal void: “YOU WHAT.  HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE”)

Merle is suspicious bc he doesn’t cast any aspersions about having lived one of the best of the best lives, and his continuing conflicts with religion get blown out of proportion now that he’s, ya know, in the LITERAL AFTERLIFE. Also the neighborhood architect has a massive stick up his ass and Merle feels like he just HAS to mess with him and argue about morality and life and stuff.

And damn it, bc this was a Johnchurch fic in disguise, John is starting to have actual real FEELINGS about this crusty, plant-loving, pain-in-his-eternal-ass resident who is MAYBE starting to change his beliefs about life, love, and the meaning (or lack thereof) of it all.

ok I have some scattered & incomplete thoughts on this

first off, I know I drew john as an elsen (bc the elsen-burnt transformation aesthetic is good shit), but actually I think he would work really well as the batter? consider: sees himself as a savior on a noble quest when he’s actually leading the world towards oblivion; “purification” could be equivalent to absorbing things into the hunger, and the purified zones could be made of black opal instead of being all white; and final john = bad batter

in this case, the guardians/queen would be the IPRE probably? I don’t know exactly who would be who, the numbers don’t really match up that well – I want to say taako & lup would be enoch bc of the food theme but that’s kind of a loose connection…lucretia could be japhet bc journaling/libraries, and as the leader davenport could be vader eloha? I’m not sure about dedan/valerie/magnus/barry though

and merle would be the judge just bc I want to see that final confrontation

OR, another option that someone (I don’t remember who oops) mentioned in the tags of my post: kravitz is the batter on a mission to take out renegade souls with his scythe…in which case taako & lup as the judge & valerie would be both very good and sad as hell

taz daemon au thoughts

-magnus's daemon is a dog and i dont care that its cliche or trite he has to have a dog -merle's daemon is i thunk a very chill tropical mammal of some kind. like some kind of lemur? yes a lemur. a very chill lemur who takes a lot of naps but when she gets mad oh man watch out. -taako's daemon is a chameleon. Again this may be trite but oh that lizard changes colors so beautifully. She hops from blue to purple to vibrant orange and she has to be careful because sometimes she gives away taakos mood. -lup's daemon is a very beautiful snake. A very beautiful vibrant yellow snake that curls around her like jewelry. They are sssssassssy (lol get it) and always a little bored u til something really piques their interest. -barry's daemon is an owl. Constantly perched on their partner's shoulder, a living spell check function honestly. That owl's often eat snakes in the wild does not escPe lup at all and she thinks its very VERY funny. -lucretia's daemon is a mouse because they obviously settled before she became sturdy as steel and now that mouse is the toughest god damn mouse youve ever seen. That mouse takes no shit. Lord have mercy on anyone who slights lucretia because her daemon is about to make tings happen for you that youve never even thought about. -davenport's daemon is a disgruntled looking tabby cat but she has a memory as sharp as any. She remembers coordinates and directions and shes an excellent navigator. -i think even kravitz has a daemon because he was once a living person i assume. This is a fact i have never been certain of tho. Regardless i think kravitz also has a snake for a daemon. Something almost similar to the colors of the hunger. A shimmering opal color. -when you become a lich you absorb the soul of your daemon and essentially become one with it to magnify your magical ability. But because i cant break my heart anymore than it already is, i think a lich can keep their daemon by their side if they choose to. Difference probably between liches i think. -julia had a very beautiful songbird daemon. She and magnus used to hold one another's daemons all the time. It was nothing to them like it was to others but its a habit magnus has had to unlearn. -lucretia's daemon almost gave away her thrill at having the boys back -the stolen century was SO HARD. Watching a daemon die is heart breaking. Remembering it after forgetting possibly more so. -thats all im still sad

taz kravitz: “Who are you and where is my mom”

kravitz was a chiyoni (a type of creature that resembles winged humans with more natural color variation who gather in large cities and generally function under a militaristic ideal of “the individual exists to benefit the whole”) bard/rogue who lived in a flock (smaller chiyoni groups with less emphasis on military and more on individuals) nicknamed the Cobalt City after the abandoned fortress they took over. He was the right-hand man of the group's leader, raven, and helped her on the flock’s quest to gain Death's favor. They mostly did this by helping his servants as they tracked down lost souls or those breaking away from Death’s cycle in order to gain power or deal with a loss.

he joined the flock after his one of his mothers was executed for deserting, which prompted his other mother to flee the Obsidian City (where he was born). she came across the Cobalt City and they took her and kravitz in, several others having fled their own executions or those of their family. kravitz was about 10, which is the chiyoni equivalent of a toddler, so he doesn't remember his deserting mother or the Obsidian City much at all.

unfortunately, the Silver City (the most powerful of all chiyoni cities) had a string of necromantic attacks and immediately blamed the Cobalt City. They wanted to execute raven in order to punish the flock and dissuade them from dealing with Death (who's honestly like… not a bad dude he wasn't even ordering the attacks). but kravitz stepped up and was executed instead.

turns out kravitz has a grim reaper soul, so he wakes up in the grim reaper realm and gets a fun speech about what he’s going to do until he dies again -- namely, help collect souls and direct the flow of traffic of large gatherings of departed (like disasters). he’s already pretty used to that, so after taking a few days to adjust to the environment and people (reaper souls are rarely born into chiyoni, who are usually reincarnated seraphs, so he has to adjust to both reaper culture and human culture at the same time), he just kinda… falls into it.

of course, bcus stories require conflict, he ends up meeting the twins while exploring beyond the dorms and hijinks begin to ensure : P

angus is a young nahvudan (the concept is rly long so imma just link a previous thing i wrote about them) whose family left the island a generation or so before angus was born and moved to silver sands in order to make a new band. the band grew as two more families joined them, and over time angus found himself overwhelmed and a bit afraid of what was happening to the nature of the band. so he fled into the woods, using his shapeshifting powers in order to evade the residents of the nearby settlements (his beast form is a rottweiler-like dog, so growling and snapping usually keeps people away). for a while, he survived using the spellbook his mother had been helping him put together and a backpack of supplies and nick-nacks he’d taken when he ran.

after a few weeks in the woods, he was found by a group of researchers from the Eastern Academy (which is dedicated to the study of alchemy and improving magical items, among other things). at first, he thought they might be able to help him, but he started snooping around in their stuff while they were gone and realized they probably wanted him less to protect a child and more for his fur and magic abilities, which are unique to nahvudan. he ran away again, leaving them absolutely bewildered and a little disappointed. when he fell asleep the night after he fled, he was visited by Night, who is the god of runaways alongside his usual duties. Night offered him protection in return for angus fully giving up what he had before, save for one heirloom (bcus Night knows how important spellbooks are to nahvudan). when he woke up, angus made a little shrine how Night had told him and put everything he didn’t need from his backpack on top of it. Night promised he’d bring Angus someone more tangible soon, but offered divine protection while he arranged for that to happen.

so angus just… kept moving around while improving his spellcasting and waiting for something to happen. eventually, he stumbled across a huge library in the woods and nestled down to hide with the added benefit of finally having something to do. and then Night basically went “sweet” bcus the library belongs to lucretia, and she got back a few days after angus did. Moon (lucretia’s goddess, bcus lucretia is a moon spirit) nudged lucretia to take angus in, and she just kinda went “oh, okay. guess i have a son now?”

angus was amazed bcus “holy shit i got a mom who’s an actual spirit,” esp bcus nahvudan revere spirits, so they just… started adventuring. they meet magnus and julia just before the story begins.

Tell us about the setting for the au!

okay, okay, so a lil warning bcus this might get text-heavy: the reason this au is so precious to me is bcus it takes place entirely within a universe i have been slowly creating since i was in the third grade. this also means sometimes nobody knows what the fuck i’m talking about. therefore, i will explain if it’s smth i know i made up

but thank you so much omg!!! i’mma throw this under a cut -- it’s pretty long

so the basis for the au is, again, my own personal universe. it... doesn’t have a name, but i’m not gonna get into the deep, deep parts, just what’s relevant to the storyline(s) i have

most of what i’m calling the Main Story (just sort of when everyone’s together + cool shit will ideally go down) takes place on an island (in a loose sense -- it’s kind of like Iceland or Greenland where they’re huge but not a continent) called Silver Sands. Silver Sands is named after, you guessed it, the silver sand that lines its beaches, all of which comes from eroded weapons of old and dead gods and monsters. it’s rumored some of Fate’s old loom (Fate being the Mother of All and the oldest living god) forms the heart of the island. Silver Sands, being such a hotspot of magical and divine energy, naturally attracts magic users and creatures as well as those dedicated to the gods!! at first it was only magic beings, then magic beasts, then spirits, and so on

over time, more and more people were attracted to the islands. it’s location and energy allow for several biomes to erupt and thrive, going inwards from the beaches to form deserts, grasslands, sprawling forests, even a big swamp that covers the western side rumored to have an entrance to hell in it!! (it does have an entrance to hell in it; a death god stands guard bcus no you don’t need to go to Hell the Lord Hell is busy). people immigrated over time, mingling with the existing magic creatures and spirits. lucretia’s a younger spirit, but she actually got to watch the tail end of that go down.

and when the populations started booming, some people went, “Hey, you know what we could do here? Teach.” so they did! There are five main schools in Silver Sands: the four cardinal schools and Central Academy, which if you’ve seen my other posts I usually just call “Central” (there’s actually more to the name than “Central Academy” but I forget what it is off the top of my head)

Central is where a large chunk of the story kicks off since Barry lives/studies/teaches there, Merle is a preacher who also gives lectures, Davenport is an advanced professor and researcher, and Lucretia is buddy-buddy with the Headmistress (haven’t decided how buddy-buddy lol). Central is like a city that calls itself a single school, with countless buildings, resources, parks, temples, apartments, houses, and attractions littered around the area, with the main building (which is huge just on its own -- think like, the White House except a skyscraper or four all kinda clustered together) which is built right over the heart of the island. it’s got... a shit ton of stuff in it. it’s the academic center, so it’s mostly classrooms, labs, teacher offices, smaller shrines, and resources (libraries, practice rooms, etc) but there’s other stuff scattered about. some people say an old dragon family has their hoard stashed somewhere inside.

Central in general is considered the greatest magic school in the world, which is supported by the fact that many stay there even after “finishing” their education in order to continue their studies further (Barry did this -- he advanced pretty quickly and mostly stays there to have a safe place to practice his new magic ideas and teach students about his ideas despite not letting them hire him) (too much paperwork). the Headmistress is a proud advocate for furthering magical study and a demigod who literally does not have to worry about money (it comes easy when ur gma’s the Mother of All and your mom is her oldest daughter) so she just... pays for all of it. she’s spoken with barry directly, probably, when he was arguing with the council to have the study of necromancy unbanned and low-class uses of it made legal again (she was with him lol)

the au uses Central as the main base and explores outwards from there, to places like Lucretia’s forest, the reaper realm, p o s s i b l y the nahvudan homeland (which is where ango’s from!), etc.

the reaper realm is the second most important area since that’s where kravitz lives and where taako + lup hang out a lot, but if i’ll hold off on describing all of that unless i get another ask : P there’s also the faerie realms, which are all pockets connected by magic tunnels, but that’s another can of worms i’ll get into with prompting or when i talk/write about lup + taako’s backstory

time-wise, bcus i just remembered time is part of setting too, it mirrors a sort of... not-quite-modern time in the mortal world -- things like smartphones exist, but it’s not necessarily real world 2018 even in the mortal realm (yep, there’s some mirroring/coexisting realm stuff going on pffft). the “mainland” (where Silver Sands is, as opposed to the Sky Cities, Hell, reaper realm, etc) has access to or versions of most technology we have, albeit differently powered.

the reaper realm actually has quite a bit too, now that i think about it, though it’s not consistent throughout the realm bcus of the way reapers tend to bring the technology of their time period in and adapt it to suit their needs. like, one reaper named rosalina is content with flip phones and e-readers, bcus she reads a lot and only needs to be occasionally contacted, despite being from the 1700′s, but evan tends to stay up-to-date despite being from the earlier 14th century originally bcus she has to keep up with a lot

he’s a human mage (in this case meaning someone who practices two or more kinds of magic or focuses purely on one class of magic across all practices), who practices both wizardry (magic learned from books/scrolls/others) and sorcery (magic inherent to the user). his magic comes from his bloodline and is roughly equivalent to chaos magic in d&d, but unfortunately leans largely towards, u guessed it, necromantic magic. he’s naturally skilled at picking up other kinds but it always kinda leaks into stuff. he started going to school as a wizard to control it and is a big advocate for cross-practice and cross-school techniques, like bumping up the power of your illusions with certain methods from necromancy or controlling fire magic with principles used in ice magic.

he moved into Central (the main magic school) as an early teen after he and his parents decided scavenged wizard textbooks weren’t enough to control his magic outbursts, which for many sorcerers come with intense emotions or in response to danger. being a teenager living on frontier provides plenty of both and therefore more than one accident of fields on fire and cows falling dead and then coming back from it, all of which is bad.

he’s practically a professor by the time the story starts, because intense studying for over a decade basically makes you an expert, and once he started really getting into mixing practices and schools he essentially made a new class and started teaching it to people who came and visited in the library who were having trouble on practical tests or in the field. he doesn’t want to be a professor for real, which is why he’s not one, but he does like his library classes and sometimes takes them on the roof. his favorite student is a girl named hestia, bcus she’s a sorcerer/warlock and her familiar is a calgreyhound named Mars which is cool as hell; plus she agrees w/ him that people draw too intense lines between what movements, components, spells, etc go with which practice or school.

he was also involved in the process of getting the study and practice of necromancy unbanned at the school! it wasn’t everywhere but central didn’t teach it or allow it on school grounds. after a few issues with him being bullied and having outbursts (that didn’t hurt anyone just summoned some ghosts lol) he was just like “fuck y’all it’s just magic any magic can be used for evil” and it worked.

taako and lup are half-elves, except their non-elf half is seasonal faerie (a faerie who cycles with the seasons in their grove/the human world). they lived in the grove of their faerie father with their elven mother and were basically raised as a mix of “normal faerie” and “magic wonder children.” the queen of their grove took them in when their mother died shortly after their 20th birthday which, for a combo of two incredibly long-lived creatures, isn’t much time at all. they end up affectionately calling her “Auntie” and learn magic + cooking as per canon.

of course, bcus i love mirroring canon if you couldn’t tell, their queen is overthrown and banished without a chance to take them with her. they slip into a group of faeries leaving on “orientation” (a sort of tours of other realms meant to get faeries adjusted to all sorts of environments so they can go anywhere and be able to function) even tho they were a few decades too young. after spending some time shadowing them and realm-hopping to survive, they returned to their home grove and joined an official orientation, knowing full well they’d just be getting a free ride back to the other realms, intending to pick one to settle down in.

taako likes the mortal plane most, but lup likes fucking with the grim reapers, so they bounce

between the two a lot. they’re not technically supposed to stay in the reaper realm, but under Evan’s direction (she’s not supposed to be as in charge as she is, but no one really gives a shit lol) the non-reaper population is sizeable enough that they just. blend in. chill. some of the younger reapers know their names. they learn magic, etc.

magnus is a turned werewolf. he was lost in the woods as a child and picked up by the werewolf pack who lived in the area since he’d been wandering for a few days and didn’t think his human parents were still alive after the fire that he’d run from. he lived among them and was basically treated like a pup. he stayed with rosa -- an elf in the service of Moon (the goddess) who lived with the werewolf pack -- when they were out on hunts during full moons, but he always wanted to run with the pack.

so once he was eighteen he finally convinced his adopted parents to let him get bit (they suggested blood injection but he was like “no i wanna do it the cool way so i’ll have a neat scar”). he turned into a werewolf, obv, and settled fully into life with the pack in a way he’d been wanting to : P he met julia when he ended up sitting next to her during the breakfast feast after his first full moon (transformation takes a lot of energy so packs make big, big meals before and after) and was just. floored by how pretty and funny she was. she offered him a job bcus he’d been working on carpentry for a few years + they became friends.

he and julia left the pack to strike out on their own and ended up sparking a smoldering rebellion against the gov that originally burned down magnus’s childhood home. once they’d married in that town, they set out again, going on adventures together. eventually, they make their way to the capital of their country, which is where the au kind of kicks off so i’ll leave it off there. i think they’d have a kid by then, so they do lol. i dunno his name yet but he’s a v v tiny werewolf and they love him (it’s probably travis bcus y not) (edit: it’s travis)
