(You don’t actually know how it happens, but neither does Morgan. You know from photo evidence Penelope had somehow gotten her hands on that he’s been genetically perfect since he tucked-and-rolled out of the womb.)

Reid’s hair has grown long enough to tuck behind his ears again, and he does it now, looking every inch the nervous admirer as he advances slowly, almost dazedly, toward the girl. 

“May I?” he asks, voice breathy and expression wide open. 

The girl—your unsub—looks just as smitten. She walks towards him as if in a dream, and you really wish Spencer had his gun out. You know JJ is covering him with her finger on the trigger, and Spencer has a knack for getting out of scrapes, but now he’s kneeling before a girl who’s killed several men, bending his head down as he slips a shoe onto her foot, and she has a pair of shears in her hand that she was just about to use to slit another man’s throat. 

You’re scared for him. That’s what this is. This is fear, just like you’d have for anyone else on your team. 

“What’re you so sour about?” Rossi asks, his tone lilting with intrigue. He looks away from the scene, the three of you leaned against the SUV while you wait for Spencer to bring her in, and studies your face. “Is there something about Spencer’s performance you don’t like?” 

Trust him to chip in. You swear, he and Morgan have to be the worst busybodies in the department. You start to kiss your teeth again, but stop when you catch Morgan smirking. 

“I just didn’t realize he was such a good actor,” you reply. 

And it’s true. Spencer’s performance is kind of astounding. There’s an indomitable sincerity about him that shines through even now, in the gentle way he looks up at the girl when the shoe fits. It makes your chest tighten slightly, and then something foul and warmish curdles in your gut when he takes her hand and presses his lips to it. 

Spencer’s a kind soul. He’s got a sweet voice to go with his sweet face, and the unsub trusts it just like you would, dropping the shears and following him towards where the rest of your team waits. He’s not afraid to touch her, brushing a guiding hand along her back to help her into the SUV. To maintain the ruse, you know. Still, knowing doesn’t help the irritated prickle that goes over your skin. 

Wordlessly (though not without communication, if you count Morgan’s smug look and your answering glare), the three of you peel off from the van, getting into your vehicles to drive back to the police station.

Spencer shuts the door behind the unsub, and you expect him to get in the front seat to help keep her calm on the way to the station, but to your surprise he walks in your direction, getting into the passenger seat of the SUV you’re driving. 

“Hey,” he says casually, like this is something he does every day. And this is a regular part of your job, but it’s not every day one of you pretends to be blindly in love with a violent serial killer while she holds garden shears over your head. 

“Hey.” You give him a little smile, putting the van in drive. “Nice job. She looked really enchanted with you.”

“Thanks, I’m glad Hotch thought to bring the shoe to complete the fantasy.” Spencer brushes off the compliment easily, more than used to excelling. “It’ll be good for her to finally get the help she needs.” 

“Well, you were awesome.” You glance at him in the passenger seat, and he’s got his head propped on his elbow, looking out at the rolling hills and vast greenery of Montana. You look back to the road. “You make a great prince charming.” 

Spencer turns his face towards you. “Thanks,” he says again, this time with more feeling, and that sweetness is in his voice again. You like it best when it’s for you.

and after the fourth month, you brought up meeting your parents

and he's SO against it

"C'mong Y/n- you know me and adults or authority figures- I'm like a lovable douchebag, parents hate me. Adults hate me- like most respectable people don't like me I'm amazed you like me-"

You have to cut him off because jesus christ

You don't know jack about his past, but you know it wasn't pleasant

Still, this is important to you

and after two months of begging and pleading and downright harassing him about it- you get Eve involved

Eve gives you the low down on his past, and you can't help but feel bad

But she also convinces Rex to give your parents a chance, they made you, and they can't be that bad.

So you set up a dinner date to introduce them to one another.

"Hi Y/n!" You open the door and there Rex is, in what looks like a slightly too big suit, and a tie he would never own

You raise an eyebrow, wordlessly looking him up and down.

He leans in and whispers "It's Zandale's he let me borrow it for twenty bucks" he beams at you, and you notice the flowers in hand

"What are those for?"

"oh! these! These are fooorrrrrr-" He walks past you, and at first you're confused, until you turn around and notice your mother standing behind you

He's presenting the flowers to her with a nervous grin, like, painfully obviously awkward and nervous

But she LOVES them, taking them from him softly and pinching his cheek

"OO! What a polite and well-groomed young man! I love the hair, it's so stylish!" She coos, fawning all over him like you knew she would

You close the door behind him, following the two into the kitchen where your mother puts the flowers into a vase.

"Y/n, Dad should be home soon, will you set the table? I made lasagna"

So you and Rex fuck off to set the table, small talk passing between the two of you quietly

-Plus, he’s a master of bending the truth, he can see through your lie a mile away.

-Still, he has no reason to bother you about it — he doesn’t even know you. 

-He just thinks you’re a little funny that you’d hide something as pointless as this.

-Doesn’t really have confirmation on it until he asks Cater at the tea party.

-Then he later asks Trey who is like ‘Yeahhhhh…’

-Again, he doesn’t really know you, but he does think you’re cute and stuff.

-He sees your around when he sneaks on campus, and he was happy to bump into you at the VDC.

-Nah, you two don’t really get to interact until Noble Bell College.

-Then he overhears a conversation with Niege and Che’nya, and it all makes so much sense!

Family Video at midday, midweek is empty of customers and warm from the sun streaming through the big front windows, despite the frigid air and snow piled up outside the doors. Steve and Robin stand against the counter, using the lull to sort returns.

“So how many dinners do you have this year?”

“Four. Mrs. Henderson’s, yours, my parents, and Eddie and Wayne’s. Plus, Nancy said her mom invited me to go caroling, but since it’d be her parents, Mike, her and Jonathon, and a bunch of their church friends I bowed out ‘cause yeah, no to all of that.”

Robin reaches over Steve to grab a cassette that goes in her genre pile.

“OooOoo you’re going to Eddie’s, hmmm? That’s sweet.”

He side eyes her for that and grabs a video from her side of the pile and adds it his side.

“Um, no, it’s not sweet. We’re having dinner. Just like at yours and Dustin’s. It’s nothing more than that.”

“Uuuuh huh.” Her lips pull into a frown as she turns to lean her hip against the counter, crossing her arms across her chest.

“Don’t look at me like that.” He gathers up one pile of tapes in his arms and turns away, heading toward the back wall showing off New Arrivals.

“Like what?” She says, following behind with her own pile of tapes. “Like I know you’re either lying to me or lying to yourself? Like I know for a fact that Christmas dinner has always been a Family Only night for Eddie and Wayne, ever since Eddie showed up at Wayne’s on Christmas Eve?”

“It’s not-” He walks along the wall tucking the tapes behind their matching display cases. He doesn’t normally feel this far off kilter with Robin, but when it comes to Eddie he just doesn’t know how to address the thing with them. “They’re just being nice.”

“Nice? Ugh!” She stomps over to the Romance section and aggressively, one by one, puts her movies back. “Everyone knows you have a day full of dinners! Nice would be inviting you there if you had nowhere else to be, but you do! He wants you there. At Christmas dinner. Because he likes you. And I have no idea why you don’t believe that!”

Steve is still facing the wall of movies, one last cassette in his hand. He looks down at it and then gently places it in its spot.

Quietly he says, “I do believe it.”

Silence rings behind him. Robin’s never quiet, it’s mildly worrying, what if she became one with the dust particles floating in the sunlight? He turns and leans back casually, uncomfortably against the wall of shallow shelves. Robin is on the other side of the rack and looks, honestly, really surprised, eyes wide, jaw slack. He’s not sure why she’s so surprised when this is what she wanted so badly.

“Oh.” She’s blinking oddly fast and then suddenly turns away to pace the aisle, hands coming up to wave around, punctuating her thoughts. “Ok. So. You know he likes you. You know it’s a big deal that he invited you to his family dinner. You accepted the invitation to his family dinner. You- So- Does this mean you’re finally going to do something about all the eyes you guys keep making at each other? Oh! Are you gonna-”

“Robin.” He takes a breath and knows she’s gonna be so mad at him. “We’re dating.”

“What?”

“Since Thanksgiving. It kind of just- No. It didn’t just happen. We were talking after everyone left ‘cause he stayed to help clean up. And there was this moment. I knew it was then or never. And I really didn’t want it to be never. So, well, that’s the making eyes you’ve noticed more lately. It’s been really hard not saying anything, but then the longer I went not saying something, the more angry I knew you’d b-”

Robin’s arms are suddenly around him, her face against his shoulder. He hadn’t even realized he was talking to the carpet the whole time. But Robin’s hugging him, not yelling at him, not mad at him. She squeezes harder around his neck and he brings his hands up and hugs her back, tight.

“I could never be mad at you for being happy.” With her face still smooshed against him, it comes out squished sounding, but he’ll always understand her. “I’m just so happy for you. And Eddie, of course, but mostly because he makes you happy. And I know you make Eddie happy, I can tell he’s been-”

Steve uses his grip around her to lift her up as he laughs, the sound getting trapped in her hair. As her feet hit the ground, he pulls back to put his hands on her shoulders.

“Yes, he’s happy.” Huh! It’s surprisingly hard to talk when he can’t stop grinning, a laugh sitting in his chest, threatening to burst out again. “We both are.”

“Ok, you’re starting at the beginning. I want to know everything!” She starts walking back to the counter to collect more videos, Steve following behind her feeling lighter than he has in weeks. “Ok, maybe not everything everything, but everything else! And, ok, maybe a little bit of the other everything. Oh my god!”

She stops suddenly, turning fast, and pats a hand against his chest. “So, you’re going to family dinner with Eddie and Wayne! Like, as part of the family! How are you feeling about this? This is big! Huge!”

Steve smiles, he just loves her so much.

He pats her shoulder as he walks past her to grab more returns.

“Well, how ‘bout this. You can tell me what it feels like when, one day, we invite you to our family Christmas dinner.” He sends her a grin. “Cause it’s gonna be a pretty big deal then, too.”

Sorry it took long, let me know if it didn’t quite hit the mark—I’d be happy to adjust or take another shot at it!

Working at the Sakamoto store had its fair share of chaos—customers who couldn’t decide between miso or soy sauce, Sakamoto himself communicating only through grunts and finger gestures, and Lu somehow balancing an entire crate of produce on one hand while sipping her boba with the other.

And then there was you.

You weren’t loud, or flashy, or a trained killer like the rest of them, but somehow… Shin was constantly thrown off his game around you.

You were just nice. You had this calm, easygoing presence that made even the busiest days feel less hectic. Whether it was the way you restocked shelves with a little hum under your breath or how you always packed Sakamoto’s lunch with a tiny post-it smiley face—Shin was doomed from day one.

He was smitten. Utterly. Pathetically.

But he was also your coworker.

Which, in his mind, was Problem #1.

He stacked the crates like his life depended on it, barely registering your soft laugh as you teased him about overdoing it.

“You know, I could’ve handled the smaller ones,” you said, standing close—too close—and brushing your sleeve against his arm. “But I guess it’s nice having a partner with big muscles.”

Shin forgot how to breathe for a second. “O-oh. Yeah. Cool. Good. M-muscle teamwork.”

He spent the next few days trying to act normal. Unfortunately, “normal” for Shin meant either awkwardly avoiding eye contact or staring into space mid-conversation because he forgot he could read your thoughts. And oh god—your thoughts were never mean. They were always kind. Sweet. Curious.

And occasionally laced with things like:

“Shin looks cute today.”

Or,

“I wonder if he’d want to hang out sometime… Nah. He probably wouldn’t want to.”

Which made Shin short-circuit behind the register more than once.

He wasn’t sure what to do with that. Did you actually like him? Should he make a move? What if it ruined everything? What if Sakamoto found out and started grilling him with that soul-piercing dad stare?

Still, the idea stuck with him. You liked him. Maybe.

Maybe enough to say yes if he asked you to dinner.

Just as coworkers, of course. Totally casual. Totally chill.

So one night, after closing up the store, Shin hovered by the entrance where you were wiping down the glass doors. His heart was hammering like he was about to disarm a bomb.

“Hey,” he started, shoving his hands in his pockets, “I was thinking... I mean, if you’re free sometime... maybe we could get dinner? Like, just the two of us.”

You blinked. Slowly set down the rag.

He braced himself for rejection, or teasing, or the awkward “oh! as coworkers, right?”

I cant remember much of what's to come,, so I guess up to this point my favorite has to be the Scraplet episode.

Althoughhhhh I remember an episode where Bulkhead was holding up this cave ceiling and Miko was running out of air below. I can imagine that episode is full of angst and will probably be my new favorite once I get to it <XDD

The only Ironhide I'm familiar with is the one from the Bayverse movies :0 I always wondered why they changed him from red to black in the movie when a red version of his alt mode exists...

I have already made like 20 transformer OCs with varying alt modes, but if I were to make one more? It would probably be an old rusty mercury woody station wagon with the nickname "Monty" for no particular reason

I can confidently say without a doubt that out of ALLL the fandoms I've ever been in, Transformers characters have been the absolute hardest to draw. And they still are to this day! <XDD

Honestly? The bots being old and tacky cars would help them blend in soooo much better then being these fancy sports cars that are strangely COVERED in dents, scratches and dirt.

Which is why I'm giving everyone a new alt mode and redesigning their root mode to match

Uhhh....... well? That miiiight be Optimus Prime for me. I really like how the glass parts of the car (like the windshield on his chest) are visible instead of just disappearing into his body. Its a nice touch for some reason-

I also like his retractable mask and how his upper body is red but his head and legs are blue. Its just a fun change in the coloring style that most of the other bots have :)

One of my favorite parts of Primes design has to be the exhaust pipes coming out of his back and poking out over his shoulders. I don't think I've drawn it myself yet- but I LOOOVE the fanart those pipes inspired of an angry Optimus prime with thick smoke billowing out of the pipes. Such a cool scene and I wish his pipes smoked like that in the show 😭💔

It's a ¼ scale figure of your favorite 141 boy. He wasn't cheap, but worth it for just how lifelike he looked(aside from being, ya know, small)

The second he's out the box, he's posed and set up for a photoshoot. The pictures being sent straight to the group chat.

It makes you laugh, having been single for a while - you lean into it.

And really - he is a great boyfriend.

Doesn't ogle you when you get changed (you turn him around), takes interest in your hobbies (you talk at him endlessly and he never responds), he'd never cheat on you(safe and sound inside a glass case).

He's great. There's even a tiny more serious part of you that feels safer knowing hes keeping watch while you sleep. Like he's protecting you. It's a nice thought.

You can't even begin to push him off and warn him before a familiar voice calls out.

"Y' home love? How was dinner, girls night you said?" His arms are crossed as he leans against the doorframe. Rob finally notices the shift in atmosphere,finally noticing and startling at the sight of a brick shithouse of a man.

"T-thought you were single? I, man I swear she said she was single"

"S'all right, im sure thats what she told you. But she's not, so why don't you head out-" he pauses, expression shifting from calm indifference to something dangerous. "before I feed you your teeth?"

Rob is gone in a blur. You've never seen someone move so fast, and quickly you're left alone with this stranger.

The air is tense for a few seconds, he doesn't break eye contact, content to stare from the doorway.

Your voice quivers, pleading and scared."…I don't know who you are but-"

he interrupts you with an amused huff, stalking closer with a smooth predatory prowl.

"Course you do love." He smiles, you can smell his cologne , there's a faint hint of smoke.

"I'm your boyfriend, 'member?"
