(and now that we have that teaser... oooofff). i read the books, but i want to put my obsessive detail lover glasses on. anne is really nuanced in her writing, so yes i totally get lestat is not how louis described him (more or less 👀), but just in a vibey way. to make a specific list, what is that 20% that louis got wrong in your opinion?

Hmmm… So first off I do not think that what we saw of Lestat in that video (aka the rockstar persona) is how he looked when he was with Louis in NOLA.

Then again… Surprisingly close, isn't it?^^

So to get into this I need to explain my view of this a bit. Kidnap your ask, if you will^^

Louis describing Lestat: strands of hair down the sides of his face, unkempt a bit wild hair (at times at least). If his hair isn't done in some kind of fashion (opera, french pony tail etc)

I said it before, I think these strands down Lestat's face are indicative of Louis' POV (own) memories.

Which brings us to this small excursion on the subject. There's the evil step-mom bob, when Claudia comes in, and which is repeated outside in 1x05:

Hair lengths aside, we now know that Lestat was just as bloody as Louis from the trial revisit (see below), which was supposedly the truth, but in any case "no scratch on Lestat" has never made much sense. Meaning the force-feeding likely didn't happen either...

.... and the drop... well. Supposedly did. Even though he is quite clean again?

Because... that is still very far from what we (supposedly) saw as the "truth" of Lestat's bloody face in the coffin room just before, which we were shown at the trial:

I think the evil step-mom-clean-and-glorious-looking Lestat is Armand's tampered-with version.

Because... going through this because I think we got Louis' POV and actual memories of Lestat more in the beginning of season one.

There are a lot more instances of the "strands down his face"...

Btw, see this? Of what was used by Daniel to prove an "error" to the tale in 2x08? To prove Armand's manipulation?!

Right after the scene... he has them again:

Even when she absolutely hates his guts:

I think every scene we saw with Lestat either in made up hair or with the strands down his face are ... "as real as it can get in a tale".

And the other scenes... the perfect blond hair ... is not.

Which brings us finally back to your actual question:

What is the 20% Louis got wrong?

And... I'm not sure Louis really got him that wrong?! I think Louis misunderstood some things, didn't know a lot of things, and Lestat fucked up others. They didn't talk enough. And sometimes love makes you desperate. They knew exactly how to wound the other.

And Armand... meddled with the tale. I said it before, the "train scene" cannot have happened as shown. The hotel likely neither.

I think every scene where Lestat is an "evil bitch with perfect hair.".. is a meddled with one. Given Armand's goal of influencing the tale? Namely making Lestat seem as bad as possible, while being unable to hide his own fascination with him? Makes perfect sense to me.^^

And there's actually not that many of them either. The outside of episode 5, the tractor salesman, the train, the paranoia driven one in 1x07 has strands again, while he does not have them the scene before and through a lot of the remaining last episode of the first season.

As such the little comment in 1x07, "the king's hair has betrayed the king".... takes on a third meaning, imho - not only a quip by Louis on both the "hair" on the floor and "heir" (Claudia)... but also that the "hair"... betrays the "king"... the leader - the coven master vampire meddling.

Layers, upon layers, upon layers.

So what did Louis get wrong?

Not that much actually, I think. But... some of the key scenes were not his. And those were therefore, in the sense of the words, wrong.

Coko, Coko. I have so many questions. Like, if Mikey goes in and out of coma so often because he has too much mystic energy, wouldn't a possible solution be to use that energy? And in that note, how much do they even know about what's happening to him? Are there physical effects for him, such as muscle atrophy? (and it's gotta suck to be him, for the world to world keep moving without you, to be left behind by everyone you know it's and it's not even somebody's fault -I think). Is Mikey somewhat consious when he's in coma, or is it nothingnes, or something else? Maybe somewhere in between? Does he sleep when he's out of coma, or does he avoid it for as long as he can? Does he have enough time to do the stuff he likes or is he too focused catching up with the rest?

How do Slinter and Draxum know one another? How did the turtles end with Spliner? (Is Draxum related to Yoshi's death...?). Also, where do they live? Still in the sewers? Are they in contact with the hidden city (maybe for specific stuff like Leo's braces)? Has Splinter tried to find a solution through somebody else? And did Donnie's relationship with mystics change?

Oh I mentioned this before that he’d have like a sleep paralysis thing every once and awhile. Completely conscious but the body would stay asleep. He sleeps normally, sometimes he’ll stay up with his brothers if they really wanna make the most of the day. It’s a lot of catch-up yea but they still give him some space to do some things he likes like trying out new recipes or drawing/painting

I JUST TALKED ABOUT THIS WITH S HOMIE! Draxum is heavily related to Yoshi’s death. The lab explosion still happens and that’s how it happens. This Splinter was there during Yoshi’s final moments that’s how she got the turtles from him. Yeah they still live in their sewers and they have very minimal contact with the hidden city. Donnie’s still a heavy science guy despite the mystics and so far Draxum is the main guy trying to solve Mikey’s situation.

And yes they have extra stripes. I think. They all have markings on their eyes too

i think it would be nice for him to form a relationship with the child.. cos its not the child’s fault anyway and they deserve the love of a father so yeah.. it’d be hard and painful at the beginning but i think oc would be supportive (?)

in my head oc and jk will have Suhana and the other child is a boy? and the boy would grow up to be kind and nice and protective of her sister 😭 this is me 😭

in terms of the story maybe jk will only provide money and that’s it :( like no matter how unfair it is, he’ll not love the child that is not oc’s as much as he would love his and oc’s child 😐 and that thought is heartbreaking…

i think i'll keep my answer secret, in case i do end up writing that oneshot 🤭 but what can i say is that all the scenarios described are valid and make a lot of sense. it's definitely not the kid's fault, but then again, it'd probably be very odd, especially for oc, since she's such a hopeless romantic and loves kids and the constant reminder that he has a kid out there with someone who's not her – yeah, kinda devastating :(

1. are you named after anyone? Yes, twice over! The Maggie part of my name comes from my mother’s grandmother, Margaret. There’s also a second part to my name I get from my father’s mother. (Fun fact, my brother’s got a name that’s been used for... I think four-five generations at this point KNTRKRTN The name I know my dad by is technically a middle name of his!)

2. when was the last time you cried? Oooofff... hmm. I think watching The end of Campaign 1 [TLOVM people do not click]. Especially the twins bit was my last really big cry. I teared up for TLOVM s2 eps 3 and 4 a lil, but that was just. full gross sobs. 

3. do you have kids? Nope! Cats don’t count. I am responsible for 40 corn snakes though :D

4. do you use sarcasm a lot? Oh, yes. 

5. what’s the first thing you notice about people? Hmmmmm I’m... not sure? Generally any big identifying features that aren’t eyes. So hair color, tats, silhouette. And even then I suck at identifying people, whoops.

6. what’s your eye color? Blue! They lean towards blue-grey most of the time, but as is the nature of Eyebols they can vary depending on lighting. Not very saturated blues usually, though - leaning slate, darker blue and even soft greenish sometimes. Another fun fact: neither of my parents have blue eyes, so I’m a fun lil recessive trait lucky shot in this way. 

7. scary movie or happy endings? Happy endings! I’m a huge coward and cannot watch scary stuff. 

8. any special talents? UHHHH writing a super massive longfic has got to count? I can draw decently good, and animate a lil if I have the time for it. wtf qualifies as a special talent uhhhh I know so much shit about dinosaurs you wouldn’t believe it? I apparently have a knack for experimental design, but we’ll see how that develops. I can belch very loud semi-on-command??!?

14. favorite subject in school? take a wild guess - science. Though I only got biology classes in CEGEP, given the pure and applied sciences stream meant taking chem and physics instead :C Drama ended up being a surprising favorite, too, I initially thought I was gonna hate it. Art class was mildly stressful needing to adhere to the deadlines and follow the instructions, but drama? Drama was a fucking blast

15. dream job? sighs wistfully,,,, an academic research position... with tenure... a nice lil lab all my own... easy NSERC grants to fund my research... likely working with birds or reptile cognition. ATM I’m still figuring out exactly what I want my specialty, my niche, to be, but in the moment I’m very interested in how visible phenotype [color and pattern] interacts with the neurobiology of an animal and thus its behavior. Really wanna keep looking at species whose cognition is really overlooked, or has been in the field for a long time. I’d love to work with crocodilians or varanids sometime, or chickens!

Weirdly Specific Artist Ask Game: 8 :P Curious how many there are to be honest ;)

8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in

Oooofff honestly if we're going to count every drawing as a "project" then there'd be too many to count. So I'm gonna mention a few of the more abitious ones :'D Which mostly were webcomics.

- The one I know you are definitely familiar with, which was the comic Sayuria. It was my first serious attempt at a webcomic, and I got quite a lot of worldbuilding and character stuff done (which I probably wouldn't have without your help, ngl).

I managed to post 4 pages of it in the end, but ended up feeling demotivated pretty quickly;; It wasn't just because I felt no one was going to read it anyway, but also because the scope of it was much too big and I knew I'd never finish it in a lifetime anyway. Maybe this could have worked in novel-form, but as a comic? No way.

That said, I actually happened to look back into some old writing yesterday, and the writing was...pretty awful. It's funny to look back on oc's you were super hyped about, to realize that they aren't likeable to you anymore a few years later :')

I do think it could be fun to do a re-design of the characters based on their descriptions, to see how I'd depict them now.

- There's also the Dragomatsu comic.

This one made it to 2,5 chapters, but after about half a year I ended up running out of steam, it was taking up 99% of my free time and I just didn't feel good doing it? That was caused by a mixture of bad planning (once again, a comic that would take years to finish), the fact I just felt really shit emotionally at the time, and the feeling of wanting to make something I could actually monetize.

I learned a lot from it though, especially about comic-creation. And from it came my oc's Fenric and Jacob, who are the main characters of my current comic project :')

I've also had a few crazy little project ideas like custom skin creation for League, web animation, visual novels, etc. But I didn't even manage to get those in a stage of creation, lmao.

So I've been talking with a guy who owns a gym and knows his stuff throughout this whole journey, and kindly he has been helping me a lot! And today we spoke about my diet, as the goal is to lose weight and diet changes are obviously where that is crucial, however, I will struggle with diet changes a lot

Well. After lunch I had eaten around 1,000 calories (it was 700ish before snacks), which in my head I was thinking considering he said I should aim for 2,100, considering I have an extra 1k for the day, that's good! Then dinner happened. Things went to hell so fucking fast. Yeah. She had about 1,300 calories with dinner and dessert. And I haven't even had my evening cup of tea or my late evening snacks. To be fair to myself, I had ice cream, which I rarely have for dessert and that's where, yeah, like half the calories came from. But oooofff bitch. I was feeling myself. I was like, oh this is easy! I don't need to make diet changes, I just need to move more! I was feeling so good midday! Now I feel like a wasted fat bitch. Like Kieran. You reached dinner time and you failed yourself. And you bought so much ice cream, we aren't even finished yet, and you need to eat it, so this will continue for about a week yet. Look at what you done. You disgust me. You ate more in one sitting than you did for half the day. Fugly bitch

The two areas I'ma struggle, firstly I love snacking, but I do only snack when hungry, so I will need to either look at ways around that, or healthier/lighter snacks. Also, yeah, portion size, I think I definitely need to work on making it just a bit smaller, which will be hard, but I need to change things clearly, as at the moment I'm gonna be hitting like 2,600-2,700 calories today, and I smacked less/had a smaller lunch partially due to being aware of calories, I wouldn't be shocked if I was breaching 3k daily before this

As someone who survived the Ticketmaster Great War, there was so much panic and also misinformation happening afterwards.

A lot of people were spreading the rumor that Taylor had dynamic pricing turned on during the sale. That wasn’t true. Ticket prices ranged from $89-899 and didn’t change throughout the buying process. I got my tickets at $109 which was the original, set price for that section.

What did happen though was that loads of scalpers got through the cracks and bought up huge chunks of tickets, then sold them on separate sites for thousands of dollars.

Another issue Ticketmaster had was it didn’t handle the amount of fans well enough. The signup process for presale SUCKED and a ton of people got confirmation emails but no presale code. And the site itself was laggy and crashed people and the line method was super glitchy

So the issue wasn’t with the prices really, it was the way Ticketmaster organized the sale :(

oooofff. That's shitty. That happened to the last Harry Styles show I wanted to go to. but the prices weren't that insane. I think people who were re-selling them were doing it for like $400-$600 which is still a lot of money, but I totally would've paid that if I'd had anything in my savings account at the time, lol. Alas, I didn't. There needs to be a better system. At least for verifying people for pre-sale. so like actual fans can get them.
