Me, sitting there shaking after nearly folding in half with combo back/joint pain while getting out of bed: Mmm, I dunno, is this really bad enough to call out of work over?

Me, after reluctantly breaking out the painkillers the previous day because the pain was reaching white-hot-fire levels of intensity: I dunno, what if I'm just faking it because I just don't wanna go to work?

Me, after years of joint stiffness and pain that got cranked up to 11 after I got covid while working a very physically-intensive job, and carried on working while it ravaged my body in the worst ways and made my existence a roulette of exhaustion and random joint pain: Like, what if I'm just using it as an excuse?

...Come on ya doofus, you can hardly walk today and you weren't much better yesterday; this is what sick days are for.

oh god, the painkillers are definitely properly worn off.

I want to bite something so bad. My knees are fizzing, shoulders creak when I move (and clunk in n out if I lay on 'em), my back is threatening to go on strike. (Well, 'tis the day for it...), and I'm pretty sure some unscrupulous sod has filled my hip and elbows with grinding paste.

Long weekend full of activity and holy shit am I feeling it rn. (Workers Memorial march on Friday, family birthday on Saturday, May Day March (and the stall) on Sunday)

When I was a kid (and even now tbh) I loved characters that had shoulder cannons. That was peak weapon design to me.

What I didn't realise is that when I hit 30, I'd get shoulder cannons of my own.

What they don't tell you is that these cannons are internal and go off when you sneeze.
