Looking for insight from members of the Creepypasta and online horror communities!

I'm working on a research paper for one of my collage courses, it is focusing on how Creepypasta acts as a form of modern folklore and can be examined like folklore to better understand its community. I have a particular interest on how the community effects its members and how the process of writing these stories can be beneficial to mental health.

If you currently or in the past have been involved in the community I would love if you could take the survey it should only take 20 minuets to complete. If you have had investment in similar communities such as SCP your feedback would also be appreciated.

The data I collect from this will not be published anywhere and contains no identifying information. This survey is very informal and is intended to get a generalized look at the topic and the survey is not intended to be scientific.

Paradox Delcatty

Pokemon researcher and artist @seasluxart has found a form of Paradox Skitty. I was curious if this ancient form of Skitty evolved, and after further research, I've found old Paldean documents on its evolution.

Hissing Pitcher

Hissing Pitcher is what it's called! It looks a lot similar to modern day Delcatty, but more primitive and a more wild look. They're a fairy/poison type.

Hissing Pitcher looks a lot similar to a modern-day Delcatty. Hissing Pitcher will shut the 'mouth' on their tail and wave it around in a playful manner, putting the prey watching it in a trance, and bringing them torwards it. When the prey is close enough, Hissing Pitcher will clamp their tails on the prey, killing it instantly with the shape bristles. The tail itself seems to resemble a Venus fly trap, which could be a form of mimicry.

They secrete poison from the pins on their neck, which works for stunning prey.

Hissing Pitcher's eyes have long markings that help them block light from harming their eyes, as their eyes are still sensitive. I find this interesting, since this implies that they were awake during the daytime, when modern skitty tend to be more crepuscular. Perhaps the ancient ones weren't?

Either way, really glad I found these. Most of the documents of ancient pokemon online have been deleted by the Paldean government. But, the document is also pretty old, and was in black and white (i had to color it myself). So new research might show different data. Here's its prevo, btw.

I'm hereby formally inviting you to participate in a small survey for the benefits of an upcoming project of mine, which will drag some characters into a Novel World (if I can make this work. We'll see how it goes. Also never done a survey before sooo... please don't judge me too harshly?).

If you wish to help make this idea come to be, please do answer the following questions, but feel free to take your time!

-Would you enjoy a small event, which you can disengage from and rejoin at any given time?

-Do you enjoy fantasy or realism? The past or the future?

-For an event, would you prefer something more seasonal (for example: Taking Easter, Halloween, Christmas, etc. into consideration and using it for the event)?

-Does something completely chill or something with an option for a bit of an adventure sound more appealing?

-Would you prefer a vague world, or something a little more/kinda fleshed out so the characters have something new to see/interact with? Or simply a different universe in form of a different fandom? If a different fandom, can you name two?

I would, yes. Large events, even online, tire me out sometimes.

A fine mix of both, I'd say. Fantasy is interesting, but so is something more realistic. Any time period also works, but I may find myself doing research on the past so I won't have inaccuracies...

Seasonal or not, I'm sure it'll be fun.

Chill, please. Adventure is okay, but it might burn me out quicker.

There's beauty in both! Vague worlds are open for ideas, but I equally love to stretch the rules of a preexisting world. Perhaps a world with general lore guidelines is more my taste though... Ah, I'm not sure, I'm pretty creative and flexible. Would be interesting if there was an isekai to, say, the Cookie Run world. Or maybe Omori. I don't know, I have a lot of fandoms...

I'd like to participate if possible :3

[The sound of-slight frustation and a falling rotom phone clattering against a desk are heard-before a small shuffle of readjustment before the hand blocking the screen pulls away to reveal...Grace, sitting on the bed of her academy dorm.]

"Hey, Guys. It's-It's me, Grace. I know, I don't usually do videos and stuff but-I guess I just...needed to feel like someone was actually listening on the other side.

Anyway-No, this isn't one of those 'If you're hearing this' kind of messages-I just...I wanted to get some thoughts off my chest I guess."

[Beside her is her backpack-she reaches inside, rifling through it somewhat haphazardly before pulling out what looks like some sort of weathered old journal.]

"This here, this-is mine. I've had it since I was-what-ten years old..? It was a going away present from mom-So I could write down and record every adventure I ever had, and show it to her whenever I'd come visit. This here-...This is my entire life, almost. From-back in Unova, to Kalos, Hoenn, you name it-...even-..."

[Her voice breaks slightly-opening it to a much later page-as she pulls a photo out from between the pages. It-looks quite old, and yet-like it hasn't aged at all.]

[She turns the photo around to show three figures-Herself, Trainer Will (@challengedbywiley )-and a tall, blonde looking figure who seems to almost have to duck to be seen in the frame-the other two seeming to laugh slightly, trying to get out of the way of the man's oversized backpack.]

"..This was Volo. I dunno-why I wanted to bring him up again NOW of all times, with all this orange text and Alex Caesar shit going on but-...Yeah. Actually-no-I know why.

Because I've-...I think Orange Text-Alex- 'Bi-'something-or WHATEVER he is-...he kinda had a point. Am I just-repeating Volo's mistakes?? Or am I trying to keep alive all the good things I remember about him? ...I hope it's the latter 'cause-Well, I know he did some misguided things but-but NOBODY deserves to be just a fading memory right..?"

[She looks down at the floor-tenderly placing her picture back inside the journal and setting it aside for now. She takes a deep breath.]

"Volo was-curious, obviously-when he started rambling, well-It almost kinda reminds me of Professor Amo when she's teaching about ruins. ...I wonder if he woulda liked her. Anyway-Always questioning, always seeking answers-...even to a misguided degree. He took us in when NO ONE else would, wanted to protect others from suffering-presumably as he once did. He had a TOGEKISS raised from an egg and a LUCARIO for Arc's sake! You can't fake emotions towards them even if you TRIED, and trust me I would know! ..And he always loved photographs. Something about-capturing a moment in time forever, creating history in the here and now-...

...Anyway-That day at Spear Pillar-..he said a couple of things that-still kinda bug me? First off-...he asked if we had a dream-a dream that propelled us, as his did. ...I didn't really know how to answer then but now

I think I finally know what mine is. I want-I want the Survey Corps to be so much bigger than running around a giant crater looking for clues, more than this-..I want to keep a memory alive. I want to keep the survey corps spirit alive, and I want-I want to keep alive all of the GOOD Volo had in him-...That's what I want all of this to be ABOUT.

The second-...Well it's a bit more complicated.

The last thing he said, to Will and I-...was that he would wait to achieve his goal, no matter what it took. Whether it be years, decades, or even centuries. ...And that kinda-still haunts me.
