Angel walked through the deep forest dungeon, the sounds of birds heard in the distance, he had reached the last floor of the dungeon and found his price a large treasure chest nestled among the roots of an ancient tree, it glittered in gold, what luck that he should find one... they were pretty rare...

That’s a little too easy, isn’t it? The great mage eyed it warily, he moved closer, staff in hand casting a diagnosis spell, the spell would tell him if it was a trap, it however possessed 90% accuracy leaving little room for error. The spell's soft green glow confirmed the chest was safe, and the mage allowed himself a small smile.

"Mmm♪" he hummed, tapping the chest lightly with his staff.

CLICK!

The chest let out a mighty groan as it began to shift and expand, its edges growing jagged and sharp. Where the keyhole should have been, a menacing eye blinked open, and from the sides sprouted grasping arms that quickened towards the mage. Before the mage could react the creature's jaws snapped shut around him, swallowing him whole.

Or so the mimic thought. For in a sudden surge of mana, the great mage burst forth from the monster's belly, covered head to toe in blood, guts, and other unsavory remnants. With a flick of his wrist, the mimic's lid was blown off, and the rest of its body shattered into pieces. Amidst the carnage, the mage held a smaller chest, which he opened to reveal the promised treasure - a rare and powerful grimoire.

"Hehe, the hoard of treasure is mine!♥" he chuckled, his eyes gleaming in victory.
