#Repost @travelersbeerlog ・・・ 🚨 NORCAL HOMEBREW ALERT 🚨 Once again @cringeworthy_homebrew has me convinced he’s some sort of bearded wizard when it comes to homebrewing 🧙‍♂️This is his oak-aged #barleywine and I am intrigued with this for multiple reasons. FIRST, I want to know how he was able to get that buttery oak barrel mouthfeel in here, BECAUSE IT’S IN HERE 🤤 Along with rich caramelized malt notes, crisp green apple subtleties, and a heavy sweetness that is sure fire proof that this thing may be packing some serious ABV 😬 Second, he made this thing taste like a trueeee Barleywine, which I feel is a very difficult thing to do for a home brewer. You have inspired some new ideas for my future brews man! Another killer beer! With that in mind, it’s important for us to compartmentalize and enjoy the little wins when we can 💪🏽 Before my work put the kebash on my travel for the next month, I got to head to Florida last week and see some awesome buddies. One of them was Chris from @brewedinbuffalo and we traded some beers together. This is one of said beers 😬 This is #trippingpoint , a collab DIPA from @copperpointbrewingcompany and @trippinganimalsbrewing 🙌🏽 Just like there’s double the amount of India in this Pale Ale, I had double the amount of stoked-ness in my brain because I didn’t get make it Tripping Animals during my visit 😩 Luckily, Chris had my back 😏 This beer was toooo smooth. Carrying notes of citrus, tropical fruit, and a whole lot of hop character, it was way too easy to finish 🤤 They could’ve put all those shrooms from the label in it and I still would’ve crushed it 🤷🏾‍♂️ Also - peep that shirt 👀 With the 2020 elections in full swing, there are two candidates you can always put your trust in - Craft/Beer 2020 🙌🏽😉 Yet another dope piece of merch from Chris. I’ll wait 💁🏽‍♂️ Yesterday was finally the day I decided to crack open a Crowler from a brewery that’s not only one of my favorites in #denver , CO - but one of my favorites PERIOD 😍This is #contourlines - A NEIPA from those boss folks over at @woodsbossbrewing 🙌🏽 Loaded with Nelson Sauvin, Tardif de Bourgogne, and Hallertau Blanc hops, it’s no doubt the crushiest crusher in all of Crushville 🤤 Big citrus and tropical melon notes are followed by a crisp sweetness that resembles a nice light Riesling or Sauv Blanc 😍 It’s an incredible beer brewed by some LITERAL geniuses. When I picked this up last month I got to sit down with Jordan (their head brewer and co owner) and talk all things beer. Be on the lookout for a little special something I’ve been working on, especially now that all my crazy work and life stuff has slowed down a little 😬 Also - peep that glass of theirs 👀 Inspired by the infamous Trail God. If you know, then you needn’t ask. If you need to ask - DON’T 😏 This beer was the perfect pairing for this pizza from a local Winery/Brewery/Restaurant called @dancingfoxwinery 🦊 They kill the game in all three of those facets and have been a staple for my wife and I for years. Got to see some family, fired up the old BBQ, and got to enjoy good food and good vibes with our loved ones ❤️ I sipped on a couple different brews but THIS one takes the CAKE (wait for it 😬) This is is #blackforrest , an absolutely BONKERS Pastry Sour from @invasivespeciesbrewing and @trippinganimalsbrewing 🤤 In my 3 years of logging and keeping track of beers, this has to be one of the most creative, brilliant, and DELICIOUS Sours I’ve ever had in my life. There’s Vanilla, Chocolate, Cherry, and Lactose all packed into this bottle at it legit tastes JUST LIKE Black Forrest Gateaux (there’s the cake reference coming full circle 🎂) Beautifully RICH chocolate and cherry notes are found throughout with a nice, mellow sweetness to balance the sour tartness at the end. Once again, I’m convinced that another brewery is using literal cake for their brew. That’s the ONLY way they could nail this flavor so perfectly 🤔 There had to be some of these cakes that were dumped into the brite tank. Or maybe you did a nice little dry hopping with them, which I guess would be be dry caking... 🤷🏾‍♂️ Well, whatever you did PLEASE DO IT AGAIN. This place continues to be one of my top Florida breweries 😍 Also, I need to apologize for mean mugging the camera in the first pic. Y’all know I suffer from A.S.S. (Awkward Selfie Syndrome) and NO ONE would help make me laugh to get a candid smile so that’s the result 😒 Luckily this amazing Sour made it all better. #Repost @travelersbeerlog ・・・ 🚨 NORTH CAROLINA BEER ALERT 🚨 ONCE AGAIN... @brewedinbuffalo coming through with that good good 🤤 What you’re viewing right now is the sweet, gentle caress of a man who’s found what is now one of his most favorite imperial stouts EVER ❤️ This is #yucatan , an Imperial Stout ... wait for it ... AGED WITH ... here it comes ... PEPPERS, VANILLA BEAN, and CINNAMON STICKS 😱 The folks from @highbranchbeer out in #concord , NC reallyyy outdid themselves with this one. This imperial adventure of the mouth starts off with the sweet notes of vanilla and that tell tale chocolate character from all of that roasty malty goodness 🍫 But what’s this?? As you let it marinate and mingle with all those taste buds in ya mouf you get the subtle heat from the peppers that slowly builds into a warm lil ball of fire that rests itself comfortably in the back of your throat. Basically, imagine a lil vanilla bean caterpillar crawling around your mouth and building itself a chili pepper based chrysalis to sleep in for a few minutes. Then it breaks out with chocolate wings a-flutter and bits of that pepper cocoon going all over. THAT’S WHAT THIS IS 😍 It may have been pouring when I took this pic but I didn’t care. I had the warmth of that little firey butterfly keeping me nice and toasty on the inside. Suchhhh awesome depth to this thing. #Repost @travelersbeerlog ・・・ 🚨 FLORIDA BEER ALERT 🚨 Coming at ya with yet another Crithpy Boiiiiii 🤤 This is #factczech , a stupidly tasty dry hopped Pilsner from @copperpointbrewingcompany 😍 Yet another beer from my buddy Chris aka @brewedinbuffalo that he absolutely came in clutch with! The Saphir used to dry hop this thing really plays a game with your tastebuds 👅 It’s super floral and tropical on the nose which almost lends the same tastes once you start sipping away. I couldn’t tell if those notes were REALLY there or not on the palate but it didn’t matter because at it’s core it’s still a SUPER SOLID Pils. With a body so lean and amazingly crisssssssp throughout, Crispin Glover himself almost sued it because his name and likeness was being used without his consent 😬 And you know I had to wear that #craftbeer2020 shirt too 🙌🏽 Since I got this beer from a good beer buddy I decided to put it in a dope glass from another good beer buddy. Shoutout to @brewshoundllc and all of his awesome merch! Both of these guys are all around great dudes and are creating some amazing stuff so be sure to check them out! I’ve gained so much love for the beer coming out of that state. Literally every one I’ve tried has been DOPE, and this one follows that trend. This is #thecactuswinsthelottery , a Sour Berliner with Prickly Pear from @exnovobrew_nm 🍐 Let me just say this: INCREDIBLE. The prickly pear puts a pause on the pucker power of the sour (alliteration AND bars) 😬 My wife admitted that it’s probably the best sour she’s tried - HIGH PRAISE because she can be a little finnicky when it comes to beer 🙌🏽 It’s been a little rainy for the past couple days so this was the perfect brew to have on a much needed sunny day. Sweet and tart with a lingering pucker that makes you want to keep drinking it 🤤 This beer put me in such a good mood that I decided to get TRICKY with my #abucketaday🏀 challenge 😏 Ball ➡️ Wall ➡️ BUCKET. Y’all I was so hyped about it that I legit put the video in this post 😬 GET THOSE BUCKETS Y’ALL. #Repost @travelersbeerlog ・・・ 🚨 KENTUCKY BEER ALERT 🚨 Y’all. Yesterday was crowler cracking, can crushing kind of day. And this was the PERFECT beer for that occasion. This is #highandtight - an IPA with a bit of a twist from @monnikbeer 😍 They used OG Kush Terpenes in this bad boy which - to be BLUNT - (see what I did there) makes it unlike any IPA I’ve had recently. With hops that are a bit more subtle in flavor and are more on the floral side, it allows that Terpenes to really shine and be the true star here 🌿 It’s incredibly crisp, floral, earthy, and even a bit botanical 😍 When I first tried this last month in the brewery I got a bunch of lavender-like floral notes and a bit of gingery type spiciness too. That held true when I popped the top on this big guy yesterday as well 🙌🏽 Super refreshing with a light, easy drinking body, it was the BESTTTT choice for the warm weather yesterday. I envy all of you who are even remotely close to that #schnitzelburg neighborhood (admittedly my FAVORITE neighborhood name ever 😬) out there in #louisville because that means you can get Monnik’s stuff on the regular 😒 I’m just glad this brew still tasted so dope and that I had my shirt and glass to show off with it! #Repost @travelersbeerlog ・・・ 🚨 FLORIDA BEER BUDS ALERT 🚨 Once again I’m on here boasting about the awesome people I’ve been able to meet through this incredible IG Craft Beer Community 🙌🏽 I started off my day in Florida solo yesterday and hit up @gulfstreambrewingco - a staple spot to visit for me at this point. Their IPA’s are ALWAYS fire and have some of the friendliest faces around. Then I headed over to @invasivespeciesbrewing to meet up with @beardbrewsandfood and @brewedinbuffalo ( + George 😬) to drink some BOMBBBBB beer 🤙🏽 Seriously two of dopest guys out there who truly LOVE beer. From there we all hit up @laser_wolf and then finished out the night with a visit to @americaniconbrewery_ftl 😍 We talked about everything from failed home brew attempts to when it’s ok to get a present for someone else’s wife for Christmas 🤷🏾‍♂️ Oh, and we ALL marveled at George laying down the mack-sauce at the bar too. These dudes make me stoked to come out to Florida! Next time y’all better be the ones coming out to NorCal! #Repost @travelersbeerlog ・・・ 🚨 HOME BREW ALERT 🚨 🎶 How is you feelin Vro?? Feelin like the 4 - I feel fantastic 🎶 Why do I feel fantastic?? Well because MY BEER IS READY TO BE POURED INTO MY FACE HOLE 😬 I give you Ski MASH Tha Slump Hop, a dry-hopped SMaSH Pale Ale by jAMS Home Brewing aka JER BOI 🙋🏽‍♂️Super happy with how this one turned out 🙌🏽 I used Australian Galaxy for my hops and decided at the last minute to dry hop it as well. THAT MADE THE DIFFERENCE. Notes of pineapple and tropical melon hit the nose instantly as soon as you crack the bottle open and can be tasted on the front end as well. The finish is quick, clean, and light. Honestly - it’s just a really refreshing, easy drinker 😬 As always I created a label for this brew and decided to draw some inspiration from @theslumpgod aka Ski Mask Tha Slump God himself 😏 If you look at the capital red letters in the label they say the style of the beer, and the different hops on there all reflect different aspects of his music videos done by @lyricalemonade 🍋 If you’ve seen his videos or heard his music then you get it 😏 (I put the full size spread as the last pic) Also - peep the new #jAMS logo I reworked on the label too 🍓Can’t wait to pack some of this up and gift it to some beer loving friends in the next few weeks! As we all know, home brewing is a process and you never really know how it goes until you take that first sip. Super exciting news here beer fans: As of yesterday (2/25/2020) @anchorbrewing has started to can their ICONICALLY delicious #anchorsteam brew 😍 This is actually their first 12 oz can release in the 123 years of operation (they dropped a 19 oz can in 2018) 🙌🏽 In case you didn’t know, Anchor Brewing is a pioneer in the craft beer world - being the first handcrafted beer to be revitalized after the end of prohibition. Thank the good lord for that appeal right?? 😅 If it wasn’t for that, we wouldn’t have this incredibly easy drinking beer in our midst today 😬 Smooth, light, and crisp, with mouth pleasing caramel notes, this hybrid ale is fermented with lager yeast, just at higher temps than normal 🔥 It’s hard not to find a bottle of this beer pretty much all over the country, and now you can find it in these beautiful cans as well! ❤️ If you want a brewery who has survived for over century churning out consistent beer while keeping one hand on deeply-rooted tradition and the other on creativity and innovation then look no further 👀 This is a go to for many beer lovers especially during the hotter times out here in California! #Repost @travelersbeerlog ・・・ 🚨 WISCONSIN BEER ALERT 🚨 Ohhhhhh boy I checked something off of my beer bucket list yesterday 😍 Included in my fabulous MN beer mail from @pennyforyourpints and @eatminnesota was a particular Wisconsin brewery that I’ve been dying to try. And after all these years, it finally happened. This is #moonman, a thirst quenching Pale Ale from the one and only @newglarusbrewing 🙌🏽 I first got a lil taste of New Glarus a couple years ago when I was visiting a brewery who shall remain nameless to protect the beertender who ran to the back and grabbed his/her own bottle of a New Glarus sour to let me try a snootful 😬 I was in love. It was then that I vowed to one day try a full bottle of theirs. Well, yesterday was that day 😊 This was a lean, mean, clean, dream of a Pale Ale with awesome spicy hop character that translated to a subtle peppery finish on the back end, while having all the crispness and floral notes on the front. Oof 🤤 I reallyyyyy tried to savor this thing y’all but I was overcome by its amazing crushable-ness. It was STUPID hot yesterday. Like above 90’s hot. IN APRIL 😒 Hence why the dad bod was out and about whilst soaking up this beer in our new pool. I can’t lie, subsequent “drinking in this pool” posts are definitely going start happening more 🏊 Best thing we’ve bought so far. Well let me introduce you to his great granddaddy - Thicccolaus McGee the First 😬 He’s the mayor of Thicccville and won that race by unanimous decision (I was the only one who voted, but still 🤷🏾‍♂️) This is #itwasalladream , a JOOOOSEY IPA from @headflyerbrew out in #minneapolis , MN 🤤 I tried this brew during my visit and it was so G-Dang good I had to bring some back with me. It’s down right one of the juiciest beers I’ve ever had, boasting BIG OL’ NOTES of citrus, pine, and a little tropical dankness as well. I feel like @shaunlill may be an evil brewing genius... which I’m 100% ok with. Drinking this brew really made me miss my time and the folks I met out in Minnesota 😩 So much so that I decided to sport my Headflyer merch with a little @beerselfie too 🤷🏾‍♂️ If you’re down with the thicccness like I am and you live in a 3 state radius to this spot MAKE THE TRIP THERE AND TRY THIS DELICIOUS BREW 😍 You won’t be sorry. #Repost @travelersbeerlog ・・・ 🚨 NORCAL BEER / NEW SHIRT ALERT 🚨 That’s right y’all... these alerts have now expanded to new wardrobe additions 😬 I’ve already mentioned the wonderful, ever-laughing monks and the beautiful beers they brew ❤️ It’s no secret that I’m legit obsessed with these folks and that they are easily one of the best breweries here in NoCal PERIOD 🤷🏾‍♂️ So, it was a sad day in quarantine history yesterday as I finished the last of my @laughingmonkbrewing stash with this delicious #koalacare 😩 However, my birthday is in a couple weeks and I’m trying to finagle a deal with my wife to let me mask up and drive over there to pick up some new 4 packs as a birthday present from me to ME 🎁 I’ll be sure to update y’all as this deal develops. But what I REALLY wanted to rave about was this dope new shirt I snagged from @salutetobrews 🙌🏽 This dude has done an amazing job building up this brand and I was more than happy to show my love for it! #Repost @travelersbeerlog ・・・ 🚨 FLORIDA BEER BUDDY ALERT 🚨 A have a riddle for y’all: A brewery owner, a stupidly talented brewer, and An incredibly ope dude walk into a restaurant. The hostess says, “Table for one??” How is this possible?? 🤔 The answer? Because that’s all on man, and his name is Dan 🙌🏽 I met this guy last year during a work trip. I showed up to his place - @yeastybrews - in a suit and jonesing for some good beer. He immediately proved to me that not only are he and Denielle incredible brewers, but they are real, down to earth people who love to connect and share great memories over beer 🍺 Fast forward a year later and here I am showing up in a suit AGAIN 👨🏽‍💼 I literally didn’t want to waste any time so I left right after work 🙌🏽 I got to enjoy and fall in love with his beer all over again all the while catching up with one of my absolute favorite dudes in the world. I even got to give him some of my homebrew too! (PLEASE don’t compare it to your stuff man... Otherwise it’ll probably taste like if your beer drank a bud light, when on a 5 mile hike, and then sweat it all out into a bottle) I’m beyond proud of what Denielle and he both have built ❤️ I can’t wait for that taproom to open up!
