The 2020 Landrover Defender was the first ever defender to make it to the shores of North America which made it a big event. Starting at $62,800 this isn’t exactly a budget off-roader and only about 3 thousand cheaper than the 110 4 door variant. But if you thought that starting price was high than you will be shocked to hear that to spec out the defender 90 to the highest degree it will cost you around $130,000. Now for that sort of price you would want some bang for your buck. Which it delivers under the hood. Starting with the 2.0L 4 cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 296HP and 295LB-FT of torque along with propelling the vehicle from 0-100km/h in 7.1 seconds. The middle child of engines is the 3.0L 6 cylinder turbocharged engine producing 395HP and 406LB-FT which jumps it up to a 6 second flat 0-100km/h time. Now time for the big boy, in this relatively small vehicle. The highest model has the 5.0L V8 Supercharged making 518HP and 461LB-FT of torque. Making the 0-100km/h time only 5.2 seconds. Alright enough of the technical stuff, the outside of this vehicle is very utilitarian but still looks good. It has that old box style from the old defender combined with some sleeker curves to it. The colour of you were wondering is actually a Pangea Green and looks quite good on this vehicle. Overall I think this vehicle would make for quite a good off-roader except for the price. Anybody that’s looking for something to take off-roading or on trails is looking to beat the crap out of their vehicle so is it really something that you want to spend upwards of $60,000 on. This stunning piece of machinery is the new Audi RS E-Tron GT. Just recently delivered to Audi Ottawa and released to the world. The RS models start at a very reasonable $179,900 CDN. Whereas the base model starts at $129,900 CDN. Now of course this one is equipped with some optional extras like Black Badges ($350), RS Design Package ($6,650), 21” 5-twin-spoke concave module design wheels ($1,500) making the total for this vehicle approximately $191,840 CDN. Well and one other thing. The stunning Kemora Grey Metallic paint which looks blue and has a slight tinge of red in the sun. The extra paint cost is $890. But the appearance isn’t everything. The stuff under the hood or should I say car is just as important. Powering the car is dual synchronous electric motors with 93kWh Li-ion battery. The max output for the motors is 590HP (637HP in boost mode) and 612 lb-ft of torque. Now one of the other interesting parts of the car is it has 2 different transmissions. The one in the front is a single speed where as the rear one is a dual speed. But that all means nothing if there is no stats to back it up. The electric motors unfortunately limit the car to only 250km/h which means you’ll probably top it out on the way to the grocery store. Now of course there is probably a lot of stopping along the way but that won’t be a problem because the 0-100km/h acceleration time is 3.3 seconds. So overall this is one stunning vehicle. It’s very comparable to the Porsche Taycan but not exactly the same. Definitely worth taking a look at if you are at all interested in the Electric Sport Sedan category. Subaru is probably one of the most prominent names in today’s car community. With the wide variety of customization both visual and performance based, every Subaru can be unique.
