Happy WIP Wednesday!
I have not done this in such a long time, I figured I should start posting again to help me get back into posting my fics in general.
This is a WIP from my fic Rain Check. It’s been a monster of a fic, 20k+ words and 50+ pages. I have been working on it since when I was still in college, it’s insane ^^; I am still pushing to finish it, it is almost there!
I’ve removed names of characters that you would not know yet.
Enjoy this WIP! Please note this segment may not be final and is subject to change.
—————
As another wave crashed over them, Akari heard nothing from Ingo except for a fit of wet, heavy hacking. Perhaps out of surprise, he did not move to grasp back at her — it almost sent him sliding back into the water entirely when [____] leaned left, performing a tight turn in order to rush back towards shore.
“Come on!” Akari compensated by grasping for sturdier handfuls of his slick underlayer, gripping them tightly. Slack and only using one arm, Ingo still slipped a bit further over the side with the pull of another crashing wave — it was like he wasn’t even trying. He must be exhausted.
“Akc-” Maybe her name, maybe another choked gargle, water drowned the words in his throat.
Akari, what are you doing out here?
“Here-!” Akari risked briefly letting go of her anchor that was [____]’s dorsal fin to try and switch hands for a stronger grip. But with a deep lurch under a surge of water suddenly jumping up to yank on her, Akari had to grab back on. She couldn’t let go like that and still expect to stay on [____]’s back, even if it was only for a second. “Where’s your- give me your other arm-!”
A thundering boom from above sent an accompanying flash across the waters. A bundle of blue cords was revealed to be not just tangled around Ingo, but tightly wound around his other arm — part of Tangrowth’s vine tether. Akari’s eyes followed the vines into the waves just in time to catch another ensnared arm as it disappeared up to its fingers in the fading flash.
He did. Of course he did. The realization sent Akari’s heart into her throat – she had no idea how he actually managed to do it, but he had found [____].

Our Hopes in Death
Tumblr media
☆ Synopsis: Nanami had many regrets in life, something that haunts him even in death. Nobara, a life taken too soon, is one such regret he wishes he could take back.
☆ Content: major character death, spoilers for shibuya incident, hurt/comfort???, grief/mourning
☆ Notes: not an x reader, but shoutout to my poopynation oomfies for making me suffer with this thought so much that i had to write it (don’t kill me please!!!)
Tumblr media
The last thing Nanami saw before his sight turned black was Yuji’s sorrowful expression. He was yet another person ─ a child ─ Nanami failed to keep safe. It’s one of the biggest regrets he’s had in life, one that he knows now followed him to his grave when another of his students is now in front of him.
Nobara Kugisaki.
Last time he saw her, she was safe ─ alive, and in the flesh. A large part of him hopes that the apparition before him is just that, but at his heart, he knows this is the real deal.
“Sensei?” she says with confusion evident in her speech. She puts a hand on her hip, taking in what can only be described as an airport, or a mirage of such. “We’re dead, aren’t we? Why the hell are we in an airport and not some cloud in the sky.”
Nobara was never one to sugarcoat her words, something Nanami always admired about the young teen. He wished he had her confidence, her will, her everything that made her the fighter she was in life when he was her age.
Maybe Haibara would still be alive if he did something different, or the many others that slipped through his hands.
She raises a brow at his silence, but it doesn’t stop her from flopping down in the empty seat next to his own with a heavy, frustrated sigh. “That rat bastard tricked me,” she snarls, closing her eyes with clenched fists. “I would’ve had him if I was faster! Poor Itadori; I’m sure it wasn’t pretty watching me go.”
Yuji.
From her words, Nanami feels the pain of his regret more than ever before, comparable to a time before when he left the world of sorcery behind. From Gojo getting sealed, to watching Nobara and himself be killed before his eyes… that boy’s life is hell on earth.
He hopes Megumi is safe after that mystery savior from Dagon’s domain disappeared with him.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t there to protect you,” he finally says, pushing off his seat to kneel before her. He looks just like how he did that last time he saw her, alongside Akari, when all three of them were alive. “I should never have left you alone. None of you children should have been in Shibuya today.”
A gentle smile appears on Nobara’s face, though her eyes read a solemn note. “It’s alright, Sensei. Like I told Itadori, I’ve had a pretty good life.”
His eyes fall from her face to his hands ─ hands that could’ve stopped or delayed the inevitable. She’s a child, she shouldn’t have had to die. He should have been more careful, maybe kept her by his side or made sure she got away.
Mahito was too much of a wildcard for anyone their age to have had to go up against.
Junpei, Nobara, countless other innocent lives, and the painful thought that Yuji is likely fighting him at this very moment. He has to believe Yuji will pull through and win, or at the very least hope Sukuna interferes like the first time around. It’s unlikely, but hope is all Nanami has right now.
“Where do we go now?” Nobara asks, standing upright again. “Does this place even have an exit?”
Outside the large glass windows, the roar of a plane can be heard taking off. Perhaps this airport is a purgatory where the options of where to go are of your own choosing, or maybe your tickets are predetermined ─ signed and ready to go whenever you board.
“There should be a directory board around here that might help,” Nanami tells her. What airport or building of this size wouldn’t have something like that? If he can’t find that, then he’ll stick with her until they find someone else.
Her eyes light up with realization, and near child-like wonder. “Ohh, good idea! I wonder if there’s any cafes or vending machines around here, like those cake ones that sing after you order from them!”
In another life, this is all Nanami would have wanted. No battles, no bloodshed, no curses ─ just children and adults, eager to enjoy all the good life has to offer.
If he does get another chance, he hopes his next life is easier even if he feels it to be a selfish thought. Maybe then he could marry the bakery girl or that one close friend from his days in school. Given the choice, he’d gladly become a parent as well, and hopefully to a daughter.
He hopes that with whatever children he may have, that he’s able to give them the best chance at life ─ one that won’t end before they’ve even lived. This time, he’ll be there to protect them, and to assure he lives a life without regret this time around.
“Why don’t we go looking then?” Nanami asks, holding out his hand to Nobara. “I won’t leave you alone, not this time.”
She graciously accepts with that same smile that seems to light up the airport sky. The two of them now walking hand in hand, like a father and his daughter. If this is all he can have in the next life, then he hopes to have this. And should he ever have that daughter he dreams of…
He would name her Nobara.

Oh man, now I have brain worms about this AU.
They'd have to remember the exact date they were pulled away to Hisui by Arceus. And then, they have to make a choice. Either they pretend to be missing to explain their changes, which would subject their friends and family through fear an terror and grief. Or they just show up after their 'old' self was teleported away. But they have lived for centuries now, have lived through horrible things they only knew from history books. Things changed for them, things changed them.
Akari was ripped from inside her bedroom at night, so she either has to break into her own room, or pretend to her parents she woke up super early and left for a walk. But it's the first time in centuries she sees her parents again. Same for Ingo, he hasn't seen his twin or his friends in ages. Wouldn't they be weirded out if their daughter/brother was suddenly clingy or their tastes for things had changed seemingly over night?
I think, what with the fact that Akari and Ingo would both have pretty bad amnesia, they don't actually... remember. When they disappear. And I was imagining that they only realize they're finally back in their own time when they start noticing that Akari is actually aging. By then, they'd have already missed the dates the two of them disappeared— and since Akari showed up a couple years after Ingo did, it's been years since Ingo has gone missing.
They're in the middle of one of their fake lives in Paldea, Ingo's become a guide around the outskirts of the Great Crater, Akari's attending school, it's been a good three years... They have about another year before they'll have to "move away" for a new identity.
One night Ingo gets woken up by Akari whimpering in pain. They don't realize what's wrong until the lights are turned on and there's a big ol puddle of blood in the middle of the bed. They're hit with the Oh Shit realization that. They've made it. They're in their own time.
And they still do not remember where they're supposed to be.
Over the years, they have regained some memories, but some things were just completely lost. Akari's pretty sure she was from Sinnoh, and that she worked with a Professor, but she didn't remember the Professor's name or where exactly she lived in Sinnoh, or if she had any friends.
Ingo remembers having a brother, Emmet, and a best friend who liked electric types, and that he worked with trains, probably. But he doesn't actually remember which region he's come from, and he's under the belief that he wasn't anyone famous or anything because if he works at a subway, that's just. A normal job. Train workers don't exactly get famous.
So it takes even more time for them to finally discover their missing persons cases. Ingo is actually shellshocked when he finds out he's a battle facility head. Akari doesn't find this surprising at all and thinks it's hilarious that he honestly didn't guess as much. His Path of Solitude is fucking brutal. He has to be a professional in the field to come up with shit like that.

remember months ago, when I made this post about a concept where Ingo just sort of regularly blips through time and space due to having n unstable presence in his time due to his eventual fate of falling into Hisui? And how I ended it on a somber note with the implication that Ingo was going to remain forever in Hisui?
Anyways. What if I took that core concept and made it funny. Ingo blips through space and time regularly, but he doesn't get stuck in Hisui forever. He doesn't even get amnesia! It's just another stop for him. He always blips back to his present time eventually.
That's how you get the Paradox AU.
Some fun facts about this AU:
Everyone around Ingo is just. so used to this at this point. Ingo disappears? Sigh. Wonder where he ended up THIS time. I'm sure he definitely won't come back with a Pokemon that they've never seen before.
(He will. Ingo might have a small problem with collecting Pokemon during his travels.)
(And by small, I mean he has 23 extra Pokemon other than his Unova and Hisui teams. This man has so many Pokemon.)
He doesn't age when he's blipped through time, only space. This means he and Emmet don't quite match, and pretty much no one believes Ingo is not only Emmet's twin, but Emmet's older twin.
Yes, Emmet does tease him about this.
Has a scar on the bridge of his nose. Changes the story about how he got it every time. Most assume it's from one of his more dangerous blips through space-time. It's actually from falling down the stairs.
Had a lovely summer romance as a young adult during one of his blips to the Sinnoh region. Years later in Hisui, he meets a girl with white hair named Akari and grows close to her. One day she's regaling him with the tale of how her parents met and suddenly. He realizes.
Oops. You're a (deadbeat) dad now, Ingo.
Historians hate him! Physicists can't get enough of him.

Fellow submas fans what are your favorite reunion scenarios
And I want to hear two things from y’all:
1. Your favorite way to imagine the reunion happening in your head
2. Your favorite reunion scene in a currently existing fanfiction (AND TELL ME THE FIC/LINK IT SO I CAN READ IT IF I HAVEN’T ALREADY)
My response to prompt 1 turned longer than expected so I’m putting it under the read more, but my answer to 2 is fucking @dittolicous’s fic ‘the only way to be sure of catching a train is to miss the one before it’ I swear to god it’s the most delicious submas fic I’ve ever read I have reread it so many times purely for the reunion alone but then I get sucked into the rest because it’s just a beautiful story and all of the characterization is my absolute favorite and. It. Is. AMAZING.
HERE’S THE LINK. READ IT.
Anyway my answer to #1 is below the cut- it’s long- it got away from me- I would love for y’all to read it but if you don’t it’s chill and I’d still love to hear your own thoughts on my prompts-
For me for #1 I LOVE the idea of Ingo getting his memories back but somehow the reunion is still a surprise for both him and Emmet. The way I have it play out in my head is a whole story that could hypothetically be a fanfiction if it weren’t for the fact that I have very few details lined out and also that takes effort.
But essentially Volo’s still being a bitch but after a talk with Akari, Arceus realizes some of the mistakes it made with bringing her into Hisui with no prior warning and forcing her to tackle everything alone, so it approaches her and Ingo to request their help in stopping Volo once and for all, returning both of their memories at the same time. It also promises to send them help, but does not elaborate on what the help will exactly look like. It does say that it will call on them for assistance once it has chosen those who will join them. It also says that if they are successful in their endeavors, they will be rewarded with one favor from the God.
Naturally after getting his memories back Ingo’s a whole mess of grief but having committed to staying in Hisui for the time being he has no choice but to stay. In this, Akari is Dawn the DPP protag and Arceus gave her a false memory of what her name was when she was sent to Hisui. She’s also not doing super great after getting her memories back but not as bad as Ingo who was there longer than her (I’ve settled on 4 years for Ingo and 1.5 years for Dawn)
However, Arceus may have seemed like it was still deciding who to send when it spoke to them, but it already knew exactly who to send.
And it involved righting the wrongs committed by Volo and Giratina with the space-time distortions.
Cut to modern day Unova! Emmet is a wreck in his brother’s absense, but he’s doing better than he was in the first couple years. Things have changed for those Ingo left behind; Elesa and Skyla start dating while he’s gone in this fic, and I like to imagine that Iris becomes Champion in his absense (specifically because Hil(da/bert) were still missing, so Unova technically had no Champion and Alder had fully retired from the battling scene. This was leading to complications in getting clearance to branch out the search for Ingo to other regions and Iris, fully sick of it, challenges the League herself and Drayden calls in a favor from Alder to get her a ‘Champion’ to battle. And she ends up being one of Unova’s best Champions in many different ways! Also I imagine the events of BW2 absolutely happened except Rosa/Nate decided not to challenge the Elite Four. Oh god that was quite a tangent uh)
And then one night four years after his disappearance (and like two weeks after Arceus asks Ingo and Dawn for their help), Emmet and Elesa both have the same very weird dream.
In which Arceus asks them both for their assistance, because shit’s going down in ancient Sinnoh and it needs more human help in getting it to stop. It does NOT tell them why EXACTLY they specifically are being asked, just that there IS a specific reason it’s asking them of all people and that they won’t regret going. It gives them two days to think and decide, also offering them the reward of a favor if they succeed.
This gives the two of them time to not only decide, but also TELL THEIR LOVED ONES THAT THIS IS HAPPENING
Emmet’s initially hesitant about doing it, but the favor seals the deal for him. With no context to what Arceus is doing at this point, he is determined to try to use the favor he will receive from the God to get Ingo back. He doesn’t really tell anyone except Elesa, not wanting to get anyone’s hopes up in case Arceus is unable to help, but deep down he hopes that if NOTHING else he will at least get closure.
Elesa was down from the start, she has no reason to say no and the favor is very enticing. For reasons.
(Cute side note I only have Elesa’s favor decided on. And she asks Arceus to ensure that on her and Skyla’s wedding day, the weather will be absolutely perfect. Perfect temperature, partly cloudy, slight breeze. Just exactly what they need for a beautiful wedding. And Arceus gifts her a pen that it tells her to write the date down with once it is decided upon and it will make sure it happens.)
(I also think that up until that point the two of them had absolutely talked about getting married but Elesa wasn’t ready because she had decided years ago that if she ever got married she wanted the twins to walk her down the aisle (bad relationship with her parents) and. yeah)
Anyway! They were instructed to go to Sinnoh if they decided to go and so Skyla flies them there (she doesn’t stay in Sinnoh, it was made quite clear that Emmet and Elesa would potentially be gone for a couple months (and they are)). They go up Mount Coronet and climb The Stairs into Arceus’s domain to meet with Arceus in the flesh this time.
Where, before sending them to Hisui, it tells them a story. About a man named Volo, who wished to remake the world so no one would suffer, so he manipulated Giratina into doing his bidding and started ripping tears open in space-time. Creating space-time distortions, and eventually even the rift above Mount Coronet.
It also says that when were opened, usually they connected Hisui to the modern world, and usually, the rift openings that were much smaller in the modern day than in Hisui, would open in areas far enough away from human civilization to prevent humans from being sucked through them.
With one notable exception.
Arceus reveals that four years ago, one particular distortion opened in the Hisuian Icelands that connected specifically to the subway tunnels underneath Nimbasa City.
And Emmet and Elesa understand instantly.
Both are a mess at this point, Emmet much more so. He hadn’t expected to get answers right off the bat. But there’s the terror rising in his heart of if his brother was dropped into unfamiliar, freezing cold territory 200 years in the past, would he have survived that???
He asks Arceus with a choked voice if his brother is still alive.
Arceus responds by calling Ingo into its domain, having called upon him prior to this to ‘ensure that those it was sending to the past would have someone to guide them through the unfamiliar time and place’.
Leaving the twins open to having a truly glorious, loud, and extremely emotional surprise reunion.
(Aside from knowing it wanted to send Ingo and Dawn’s loved ones back to be reunited with them, Arceus thought it would be VERY funny to have a team of six humans like humans have teams of six Pokemon. Barry and Lucas end up being the other two sent back to Hisui, to reunite with Dawn.)
I have not a lot of details about the meat of this story figured out. The vague outline is Emmet having separation anxiety, Elesa feeling like a weight is lifted off of her shoulders because she no longer has to grieve Ingo while simultaneously keep Emmet going despite his own heavier grief, Ingo having serious identity issues and feeling inadequate because he forgot Emmet while his brother grieved him so heavily, so he doesn’t talk to him about his own trauma and grief and ends up having a mental breakdown eventually that Emmet helps him through, and Volo has found some other legendary from another region that he’s using to try and remake the world again. I haven’t decided which one.
And then once Volo is beat they go home, both twins firmly convinced that their reunion was Arceus granting them their favors early as ya know, Emmet wanted his brother back and Ingo wanted his FAMILY back. Arceus catches on to this and promptly informs them that no, that was part of its plan from the beginning, that it was merely righting a wrong it should have righted long before then, and that their favors are still very much available to them. They do not use them at that time, since they did not expect to still have the favors, and they did not have anything else in mind.
(Elesa asks for her aforementioned one on the spot. At this point she’s so excited to have a much more serious conversation with Skyla about their future, and with her best friend alive and safely home, she’s finally ready for the next step.)
All the weary time travelers are returned to modern Sinnoh. Skyla hops on her plane the moment Elesa calls. They all go to Twinleaf town, Unovans included while they wait for Skyla. Dawn reunites with her Mom.
Skyla is fucking ecstatic when she sees Ingo’s alive, and they fly home to Unova after saying goodbye to Dawn, Barry, Lucas, and Johanna. They specifically fly to Opelucid, thinking Uncle Drayden’s house is a better place for Ingo to readjust to the modern day than their apartment in the middle of bustling Nimbasa City.
They are absolutely correct, but that doesn’t stop the breakdown Ingo has when he finally comes to terms with the fact that he’s home and can rest and not have to worry about his safety in the wilderness with angry wild Pokemon constantly posing threats to his well-being.
But he has his family by his side, who are more than happy to help him through it :3

Plot bunnies I probably won't write because I am not a fic writer (I'm trying (T▽T)) but I'm putting here anyway for others to see and for me to not forget.
Hikaru asks God to take him back to when he first met Sai. God answers but tells him that the past can't be undone, so instead Hikaru asks to be in a world in where Sai exists (Isekai. Think the twelve kingdoms or xianxia-style fantasy).
Hikaru quits go permanently and disappears. Years later, while Akira is in another city for a tournament, he sees a familiar figure walking down the street and impulsively follows him. He unwittingly interrupts something that looks like an exorcism and suddenly has to accept the idea that ghosts exist (exorcist!Hikaru)
Hikaru can "share" Sai with other people. He immediately uses this power for evil, by making Haze the most feared go club in the country.
Weeks after Sai's disappearance, Hikaru stumbles upon a shop that grants wishes. Hikaru wishes to see Sai again, and learns that the shopkeeper is also waiting for someone (Xxxholic crossover)
Hikaru changes his appearance, trying to emulate Sai, and has some sort of epiphany in the process (trans girl!Hikaru)
Akira knows two boys: Hikaru and Sai, that sometimes visit his father's go salon to play. Their personalities are completely different, and their difference in ability is abysmal, but they both look exactly the same, and Akira has never seen them in the same place together and is driving him crazy (Yugioh-style possession)
Akira can see the future by seeing the path of the stones in the goban. He is visited by a stranger when he's 5 years old, who tells him his destiny waits for him in Greece. The stones agree and Akira was never the one to disobey fate (Saint Seiya crossover.I'm actually writing this one yay)
Akari can see ghosts. This changes things
Hikaru is most definitely NOT in love (he's lying, and trying to be cheeky about it) (any ship, deeply inspired by this song)
Hikaru goes back in time to 5 different moments of Sai's life, trying to convince him to go back to the future with him. Meanwhile Sai is convinced that he's being tormented by a rude supernatural entity
Hikaru only ever dates girls with long black hair. Akira let his hair grow, trying to catch his eye. This works, but he'll realize that this is a mistake (serial killer!Hikaru. Born from me trying to piece together an old livejournal fic series that was about this same idea, but only survives as comments talking about it and a single Chapter I found somehow. Also working on it, outline ready)

Relationship: Miyuki Kazuya x F!Reader Rating: SFW Content Tags: POV Miyuki Kazuya, Childhood Best Friends to Lovers (it's really hard to define these two), Soulmates (if you squint), Frenemy OC Who's Known Kazuya Too Long, Mentions of a Less-Than Stellar Home Life (not as bad as it sounds), Light Insecurity, Two Ships Passing Summary: Kazuya's search for you during his final New Year's break turns up empty, leaving him to reach out to your friend who never really liked him. Word Count: 1,540
A/N: Man, coming up with tags for this is difficult because their relationship is a little difficult to describe (it could also be that it's almost 3 AM and I am tired). Anyway, this intro isn't that great of a mood maker, but it sets up the "present" rather well. A grand thanks to @tyga-lily, as always, for being my sounding board and encouraging my bad ideas ♡♡

It was just as he was leaving for Seidou. Your anxiety was plain to see—for him, anyway. Shifting weight from foot to foot as you fiddled with your pencil in one hand while gripping your sketch book too tight in your other. It was one of those times when you two were on the same wavelength, not because you two just got each other like that, but because you two felt the same. He threw his arm around your shoulder and felt your annoyance aimed at his face and felt the moment it disappeared.
I’m coming back. It’s not like I’m not going to see you between now and graduation. You’ll be here when I get back, right?
Yeah.
Tumblr media
Age 18 | January 3
Funny, how quickly his excitement to see you is replaced with anxiety upon hearing your name. How quickly anticipation to reconnect properly since first attending Seidou sours into confusion and something a little too closely related to fear.
Akari repeats your name and Kazuya nearly flinches at the way she says it—like she’s talking about someone who’s died, someone long gone with no hope of returning. It comes out like a question, one with an answer she’s tried to forget. He watches as your name sits on her tongue, flavoring her thoughts as she considers her answer.
With a sigh, she shrugs. “I honestly haven’t seen her in a bit. I mean, I see her at school, but she hasn’t been around the neighborhood in some time.”
“Seriously? She still lives here. What do you mean, you haven’t seen her? Where else would she be?”
Annoyance flashes across her face and her fingers tighten where they hold the door open and he’s sure she’s waiting for the chance to slam it in his face. “Really, Miyuki? You of all people can’t be surprised.”
Her frown deepens as she watches him, realizing he has nothing to say—despite her conviction, he of all people is surprised. It’s been a little bit since you two spoke, but… c’mon. You wouldn’t leave. You told him you’d wait for him to come back, even if he’s a little late on the “coming back” part.
“Okay, I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt because you can be dangerously obtuse at times. Ignoring the fact that her dad can’t work anymore and that she’s working to pay the bills, what did you think would happen when you left? You thought she’d be hunky-dory? Actually. That sounds about spot on for you, Miyuki.”
“Hey, now. You don’t need to be cruel about it. She hasn’t told me any of this.”
“I can’t tell if you’re being serious. She tells you everything.”
“She hasn’t told me anything for a couple of months now. Did something happen? Maybe she got a new phone?” Even as he asks, he knows that slim sliver of hope he’s searching for is bullshit. You’d still have his number memorized and it’s not like changing phone numbers is exactly easy.
“You sound awfully upset. Are you worried that she stopped wanting to be your friend?”
“I’m not upset,” he bites, only serving to make her laugh, the sound sharp and unnecessarily harsh.
You wouldn’t just leave him like that. You wouldn’t leave without talking to him first. At the very least, you’d give him a fighting chance.
“Sure, you’re not upset. You’re so dramatic. It’s nothing like that. She didn’t get a new phone or a new number. It broke the last time she went home but she hardly ever used it in the first place.”
“Got it. Thanks.”
He’s not that worried about whether you got fed up with him—it’s been nearly three years since he’s seen you, but he still knows you a helluva lot better than that—but being in Akari’s presence is becoming increasingly grating. How you ever do it for more than thirty minutes at a time, he’ll never know. She stops him as he starts to turn to leave, too exacerbated by her attitude to bother with propriety.
“Wait. Fine. You’re nowhere near as fun as you usually are.” Glad to know this is a game to her, though maybe it’s deserved. “She doesn’t go home at all, as far as I know. She bounces around between our homes as she needs, usually asking the day of if it’ll be fine, but it’s been a while since she’s asked me.”
What the hell’s happened in the time since he’s left for you to get to this point? To not bother going home? What kind of friend is he if he didn’t even realize—?
“Even if I don’t like you—”
“Yeah, you got that message across loud and clear.”
“Even if I don’t like you, you should at least know that she told me she doesn’t see a point in coming around if you’re not here. I personally don’t get it, but you’ve been friends with her for twice as long as I have so maybe it makes sense to you.”
“... Thanks.”
The door clicks shut behind him and he’s sure that both he and Akari are disappointed it wasn’t a slam, that there was something else at the end of this interaction other than a mutual dissatisfaction and vague helplessness. Frigid winter air brushes past him, reminding him of just how cold he actually is. With the afternoon sun beaming down, everything still feels devoid of warmth. No matter the sure and steady movements that should supply some heat, no matter the layers of clothing he wears, your absence is making everything much colder than it is.
She doesn’t see a point in coming around if you’re not here.
That’s no surprise. Of everything he learned today, that’s something that strikes him as genuinely you. You two’ve always been close and would always tuck your promises and the like in blunt explanations and blasé phrasing. Never would he have imagined that you would leave without an explanation to him and, yet, this is where he finds himself.
Is it because he’s barely come home?
Since starting at the school, he’s only come home for the New Years’ celebrations. This is his third one, but the other two were packed with recovery from the winter training camp and making sure his dad was okay. He figured you’d be okay, too, even if the New Year traditions that existed between you two were put on hold. You never said anything, but was it stupid of him to make an assumption? Had he gotten too caught up in his desire to play and win that he missed something as big as this?
Home's in sight, but he can’t return just yet. On top of trying to find you, he came out to grab some food. Honestly, he was hoping that you’d be able to come over tonight and hang out with him in the kitchen like you used to. He wanted to know whether your skills had improved at all or whether he was doomed to cook for you both until who only knows when, but that’s definitely not happening.
At this point, he’s tired and there’s a new weight on his chest that he would like to rid himself of but, with what little ingredients are available at the house, he can’t skip this trip. But so long as he and his dad have something to eat tonight and tomorrow morning, things should be fine. He turns on his heel to hit the 7-eleven instead of the market and it strikes him just how different everything seems.
Kazuya can’t tell—nor does he care to differentiate—whether it’s caused by time passing, by the start of a new era fast approaching or whether it’s caused by your startling absence. Either way, his ears ring with the trill of your laugh from years past, the light teasing and the stupid jokes you both would make. It’s impossible to walk these streets without the shadow of you beside him. It’s a shame that it took this to understand the weight behind your words, but, yeah.
Knowing you’re not here makes this visit far less pleasant than it would have been.
As he nears his destination, he tries to ignore the bustling of the bus, preparing to carry away the majority of the would-be crowd at the convenience shop, but there’s this minute, inexplicable urge he gets to look again. It’s once he’s crossed the street does he give in, only to meet your stare through one of the passenger windows.
Your eyes widen in surprise, same as him, and he takes a step in the direction of the bus, though you both know he won’t make it. The surprise melts away and you give him a smile and a chuckle that he hears despite the barriers. Your hair is shorter and you look more mature—though he’s sure he looks different to you, too—but it’s the familiar intimacy of your smile that steals his breath.
He’d like to run, to stop the bus and get on, but it’s already leaving before he can finish the thought. Kazuya misses you more than he believed possible, but the near-miss only serves to lighten that newfound weight on his chest, even if just a bit.

Au’s and Oc’s!
This will probably be a long post! And will probably be updated regularly!
Au’s!
Not written!
Gritina finds Akari during the red sky and turns her into a mini giritina. Akari finds home with Giritina and the distortion world.  Ingo and Rei fix the sky, but things still aren’t looking right.
Rei (Skyfaller in this one) was originally born in Univa. They later moved to Paldea. (Rei is Violet MC and Legends: Arceus MC). Suddenly, when he, Penny, Nemona, Arven, Kieran, and Carmine are in Area zero, he is transported to a strange land. How will his friends and pokemon react, when he disappears and when he returns? Especially considering he doesn’t remember them, or his past at all.
Emmet and Elesa were given a strange device. It seems to let them watch videos from some child’s extremely dangerous journey. Akari falls into Hisui and finds a way to video record what happens, hoping it would help with her memories. She doesn’t know that they are getting sent to some people a certain warden once knew.
After Akari’s exile, she gets adopted by Zoroarks and Zorua’s. Later she is deemed to be Lady Zoroarks warden. Eventually, Akari’s name doesn’t fit anymore and she changes it to Shou. Warden Shou starts a new life there, unrecognisable to others. The others keep looking for Akari, not realising she is right there the whole time. Arceus decides he needs someone else to fix the sky. Perhaps a parallel of a certain warden would work?
Ingo has been missing for four years when suddenly Emmet starts having strange dreams. He sees the perspective of a young girl, proclaimed as a hero he learned about in history class, but he can’t control what they do or say. He can only see what they see and feel what they feel. He tries to ignore it until he sees a familiar looking warden through the hero’s eyes.
(Pokemon Oc!) Hero is a person with one task. Save people. That is all they can remember. Not their name. Not their past. Or maybe they could remember their past, but through the centuries they’ve been alive it’s been blurred. Their Lucario stands by their side, along with golden silhouettes of the first noble pokemon. After all, when your title becomes your purpose and all you are, why not make it your name as well? Well, the life crisis’s can wait for now. They have a person they need to send home, and they don’t exactly have as much time as they do.
In the process of being written!
Golden Memories: After Ingo and Akari leave Hisui, everything about them begins to fade away. Even the memories of them. Will Rei be able to find out why and stop it before it is too late or will the future forget about two of Hisui’s greatest battlers and hero’s like the ground they walked on.
An ember marks the sign of safety!: After Akari gets extremely injured Arceus grants a blessing to heal her body. But in order for Arceus to heal her body he needs to take it. So while Arceus holds onto Akari’s body, she is given the temporary form of a cyndaquil. Her pokemon take it upon themselves to take care of her in this form. … but maybe they need a humans help when figuring out how little pups work. It’s jot like any of them took care of hatchlings, let alone injured one’s before.
Breaking point: Akari becomes possessed by Arceus after catching Palkia and Dialga. She becomes frenzied, and so does her pokemon. How do the clans and jubilife solve this? They need to think about how she did the same for the nobles, and perhaps some help from some people Ingo once knew.
Birthday for a faller: It’s Akari’s birthday! (Well, more like falling day, but who cares) The clans are working with the galaxy team to get something set up! Especially after they realized she couldn’t remember any of her’s!
Written!
Blue hues, sparkling in the snow: Akari is exiled from Jubilife, and is not allowed help on the excuse that it could cause war. Volo is insistent that he has a place for her to stay, but she doesn’t truly trust him. She gets past the lake trials alone. Fights, quells, and catches Palkia, Dialga and Giratina. (Volo was too slow). But as she walks down the other side of the mountain while the sky clears, exhausted from the fights, she unknowingly walks into the territory of an Alpha Garchomp. Well, now there are some Zorua’s that seem to be nice. Huh.
Rei’s gossip train: Rei is a little gossip. Some love it and some hate it. Today Kamado is going to understand why people hate it. On a completely definitely unrelated note, Kamado is balding.
From beach to beach: Akari goes to Sinnoh’s temple for the last time. She gets a quest to go to Paldea. She awakes at a beach, meeting a person a little too eager to battle her. And a little grass cat joins her on this new journey. (The start of a larger story.)
A magical messenger: Akari was given a special ability, to be able to travel to the future, for 5 hours once a week. She had decided to use this to be able to give Warden Ingo’s “Man In White” messages from Ingo. But how will the man in white react to this? Who knows. But the almighty gave her the ability to know where his house is. And Ice cream is awesome. ——Emmet has been receiving some weird letters. They look like verrry old letters and have a weird stamp. They seem to be addressed to a man in white, and from. Warden Ingo? Well that is a weird coincidence, right? Ingo? A warden? What even is a warden? And who is delivering these messages?
Take a break beloved fallers: In Sinnoh (Hisui) 1678, a hero completes her quest. Now she and her dad can go home. In Unova 2023, two gym leaders and a subway boss waits for someone in black. There is a light on a broken temple. There is a light in the middle of a tunnel. These things are connected.
OC’s
-Pokemon!-
Hero: Legendary hero of Hisui. Immortal. Can be visible/in human form or be invisible/in ghost form. 6ft tall. 17??. Has a Lucario always by his side. Always wears a Lucario mask. Cryptic. No one except for the protag usually see’s them. Gender fluid/ doesn’t care about gender or pronouns. Call them what you want. Pokemon fear them, and even alphas know better than to attack him. Can understand pokemon now. Light greyish brownish hair that is in a long braid. Wears a tunic that looks like a mixture of the old Pearl and Diamond clan tunic, along with a torn up red cape. Can summon the original noble pokemon. Has Arceus’s blessing.
Pan Pan! My self insert, kinda. Not quite though. She is in all the games I have. Aka, (in order) Pokemon Violet, pokemon legends Arceus, Pokemon snap, and pokemon sword. She has purple, shoulder length hair that is slightly floofy. Very friendly and caring towards others. Forgiving, but never forgets. Catches WAY too many pokemon. A jack of all trades, master of a few.

The sun is barely up, but Burai is already waiting at Wep'keer's gate... along with Moshiri and--even more surprising--Kei. You knew you had a slim chance of leaving without the chief overseeing things, but you can't help but wonder...
"Where's Akari?" Akemi asks, now a little more alert as the cold air perks her up. "She always goes places with Burai."
"Ah, good, you're here," Moshiri greets, giving you a glance over before his eyes slide to your shoulder. "And Akemi is with you."
"Of course. I promised Ikken I'd bring her home." You're careful not to accidentally dump Akemi into the show as you offer the chief a bow. "I owe my life to both Wep'keer and Ponc'tan. Thank you again."
"I told you, you needn't worry yourself with that. And you've already done enough..."
Kei and Burai shoot looks between you and their chief, and you can hear the unspoken did you not tell anyone else? in the tilt of Moshiri's head. "Much like Ikken, Akari received a prediction concerning our people's future. And last night, she decided it might be better if she stayed behind with Sota to investigate it more. So Kei will be going with Burai instead."
It's nice that Akari is trusting you enough to take your prophecy seriously. You can't say the same for Burai, though, with how he's scrutinizing you out the corner of his eye as Moshiri prays over Kei. It only breaks as he ducks his head for his own blessing, and you hadn't realized you were tensing until your shoulders drop and nearly send Akemi plunging into the snow. You're starting to wonder if maybe you should ask to wait for the next patrol...
"And you. Oracle."
Moshiri's voice snags your attention, and you blink to refocus on the wagtail mask in front of you. "You have quite the journey ahead of you; even further than our patrol." He studies your face, and despite doing your best to keep a straight face, he hums knowingly. "If you havee any last things to say or ask of us, now is the time to speak them. Lest they haunt you later."
You're starting to get annoyed with how the chief keeps touching nerves, and you especially hate how you have no idea if it's on purpose or not. It keeps your tongue locked and your jaw clenched at first, long enough that Akemi quietly tugs on a flyaway hair to make sure you actually heard what Moshiri said. Eventually you force the words loose, glancing over your shoulder and up the path disappearing into the mountains.
"I have no other visions. But..." You know Yawa told you to honor the dead by moving forward, but if you're going to leave them behind, you owe it to ask this last favor. "Even if your people eventually forget me... don't forget those that didn't get to leave. They're gods, but they're also victims. They need people here that can honor their memory."
"I doubt the Oina will be forgetting any of this any time soon. The boat--an Ark, you called it--is in Lake Laochi now; like it or not, they've become a part of us, just as our destinies are twined with yours." Even so, something in his intense stare softens. "But I understand."
Moshiri gestures for you to come closer, and at first, you're not sure what he wants. It's only when Akemi whispers a hint for you to bow your head that it clicks. "You want to pray for me...?"
"You are leaving as well as these two, are you not?" You duck your head as Moshiri approaches, and as he lays a hand on the eagle's face something in the world stills. "May the spirits of the air, earth, and sea lend you their strength, and keep you one step ahead of your pursuers," he repeats, "both for you and the goddess you seek." He pauses, then adds in a quieter tone: "and may whatever you've yet to see at least be kind to you."
You doubt any of them will be, but the sentiment is appreciated. Even so, you swear something in the wind shifts ever so slightly as he steps back to bid you all on your way. It almost seems to drown out the sorrowful murmurs and hisses, quietly whispering to urge you forward as you take the first steps past the gate.

Thinking about Khan and how he doesn't wake up from nightmares the way people might expect. He doesn't explode from them, swinging and breathing flame in defense. He doesn't wake up screaming.
He wakes up silent. And it's only if you're paying attention that you'll know he's awake. His eyes might open - but with his poor vision, it's not like he can truly see where he's at - and he might draw in a sudden breath. But it's the fact that he stops breathing that's the Sign. It's the way he suddenly goes quiet. Not that he snores or sleeps loudly anyway, but there is one less person making noise in the night.
Ingo isn't often awake when this happens. Very rarely, in fact, because Khan has nightmares almost every night. It's nothing new. Most of the time he will breathe, eventually, and take in the scents of his surroundings. He will realize where he is and use it to ground himself. And if he can't, then he will get up and find something to do until he can pass out from exhaustion and wake up better.
But it happens a handful of times. Ingo is awake when Khan comes to. And sometimes he doesn't realize it, doesn't realize Khan is awake until Ingo himself is returning to bed and looks down as he passes Khan's cot to see his green eyes open and staring at nothing.
But this time he realizes. He's awake, for no real reason, just sitting and listening to the world around him. Akari is snoring after a long day of survey work, Khan is sprawled out on his cot, the nocturnal pokemon are calling to each other in the distance… It's peaceful. Ingo rests with his head on one hand, eyes shut and enjoying it while he can.
And then one sound disappears.
He doesn't realize it's Khan at first, spends a moment trying to figure out what's missing. Akari is still snoring. The pokemon are still calling. Khan sleeps quietly enough that Ingo has, on occasion, put his hand under his nose or over his mouth to ensure he's still breathing. And it's that, knowing how quietly Khan sleeps, that makes ingo realize that Khan's breathing is what missing. That Khan is making no noise at all.
Ingo gets up and goes over to check, because Khan may be a prickly bastard but by now he's Ingo's prickly bastard like Akari is Ingo's daughter, he's part of the family. And sure enough Khan is awake. Eyes open wide. Staring at nothing. Ingo is ready to return to his seat when he realizes Khan is- not breathing. There's a tension to him that is abnormal, despite his nightmares.
So Ingo stays, sits down by Khan's side, and gently touches his hand. Too much touch too fast will wind up with fists flying towards him, so he takes it slow. Khan's hand is a fist. Ingo asks if he's alright, but there's no response. Khan's chest hitches, his breath sporadic for a moment, before a sound like a whine makes its way out of his throat.
And that- is so out of the norm that Ingo is now concerned. He puts a hand on Khan's arm, on his neck, as he leans over to look in the other man's face. Maybe it's the light of the night, but Khan's eyes seem… Shiny.
And this is a bad one. It doesn't take a genius to know that this is far from average. That whatever Khan has just dreamt of has truly, deeply affected him. Ingo pulls him up, pulls him into a seated position, and directs Khan's face to his own neck. Scent is Khan's strong suit, after all, and the best way to help him realize where he's at. Ingo ignores how his shirt gets a little damp- tells himself, for Khan's sake, that Khan is just drooling.
And Khan does what he never does and wraps his arms around Ingo. There's a desperation there, something terrified, and Ingo knows that this isn't something he can do on his own.
"Do you want me to wake Akari up?" He asks, because it never hurts to offer a choice.
"She's asleep." Khan says, which isn't an answer. His voice is hoarse and shakey. Ingo makes the decision for him, then, and extracates himself from Khan. Khan's hands follow him, reaching out, and Ingo is grateful for the first time his home is so small because he can hold onto Khan's one hand while he uses the other to shake his daughter awake.
Akari's snores vanish and she opens one eye halfway, confused. "Dad?" She asks. Her voice is low and thick with sleep. "Whassups?"
"Khan needs our presence. Would you mind joining us?" He says. And it's not the whole truth, but Akari wakes up more. Khan does not, ever, need anything from them. He's like a stray animal, coming to them when he chooses, but fully able and willing to survive on his own. And maybe now he still doesn't need them. If Ingo hadn't been awake, Khan would have laid there until he decided what to do. But Khan isn't making choices for himself, and Ingo knows he needs grounding.
Akari stands and Ingo helps guide her over to where Khan is still sitting. He's turned now, his legs thrown over the side of the cot as he hunches over and stares at the ground. One hand is still in Ingo's.
Akari reaches out, touches his shoulder, and that whine breaks from Khan's throat again. He leans towards Akari, rests his head against her, and then drags her onto his lap. She wraps her arms around his neck because he is gripping her so, so tightly, holding her like she's his saving grace, like if he lets her go the world will end. His shoulders shudder.
Ingo sits next to them, sliding Akari's legs over his own, and leans into Khan's side. He wraps one arm around Khan and is surprised when Khan returns the gesture, releasing Akari with one arm to pull Ingo into his reach. He is not just holding them but clinging. Ingo wonders, but doesn't ask, what he had dreamed about to make him so desperate. Ingo turns into Khan, places his legs over the man's but under his daughter's, and leans into the hold. After a moment, Khan turns his head to shove his nose into Ingo's neck once more. Akari is pressed between them, still holding onto Khan as if her hug will fix him, and Ingo knows they will both stay here as long as Khan needs them, wants them, to.

WtST Masterpost
Finally compiling all things related to Welcome to Sinnoh's Temple into one post.
The order of content is:
Fanfictions
Spinoffs
Artwork
Text Posts/Miscellaneous
If I receive fan content, then I'll make add a section for it for ease of organization.
Be aware that much of the artwork and fanfiction linked below contain spoilers for the plots of WtST and Pandemonic Paradise, if you have yet to read either fic and want to avoid spoilers.
This masterpost will be edited as new content is posted.
I hope that this makes it easier for everyone to find stuff if they're interested.
Have a good day!
AO3 series link
Fanfictions:
Main Story:
Welcome to Sinnoh's Temple -- the eponymous fic of the series - chapter 1 - chapter 2 - chapter 3 - chapter 4 - chapter 5 - chapter 6 - chapter 7 - chapter 8 (final)
Yellow Lily -- a short oneshot taking place during WtST, after the Rift has been closed
Healing is Done in a Gradual Way -- a post-WtST oneshot
Spinoff Fanfictions:
Pandemonic Paradise -- an alternate storyline picking up between chapters 5 and 6 of WtST - chapter 1 - chapter 2 - chapter 3 - chapter 4 - chapter 5 - chapter 6
Nonomori -- a hurt/comfort oneshot taking place in the Multi Line variant of WtST
Spinoffs:
Title links lead to the tag on my Tumblr, topped with the most recent post.
Pandemonic Paradise AU -- between chapters 5 and 6 of WtST, things go horribly wrong, and Volo gains Arceus's power. As the world starts to fracture, a distortion drops of a very confused Ingo, who, needless to say, takes the news of his twin's presumed death very badly
Broken AU -- tentatively full-titled as A Promise Broken is a Lie Told, this is a variant in which Ingo handled his grief less-than-healthily, takes all the blame for Emmet's disappearance himself, and isolates himself from his family, eventually taking the title of Unova's Champion
Illusory Lives AU -- a variant in which Emmet died during the red sky incident and came back as a Hisuian Zoroark. Lots of found family here (and Ingo may drown in guilt a little bit)
Multi Line AU -- one year after Emmet disappears, Ingo is taken and lands in Hisui a few years prior to Emmet; essentially, WtST, but Ingo is there
Paradise Frozen AU -- after spending four years in Hisui, Emmet returns home with Akari and Rei only to be separated from them midway. The three of them land, alone, underground in a frozen Unova under the reign of Ghetsis and Kyurem

Happy WIP Wednesday!
Here is a segment from Rain Check, a Multi-chapter fic im working on. I’ve done revision after revision and keep adding and taking away from it, but I truly hope I can publish this one soon!
Enjoy! As always, wording is subject to change.
————
“Please remain seated,” A firm hand on the teenager’s shoulder pulled her back into the moment. It simultaneously reassured her and urged her to stay down as Ingo got to his feet, pulling his now-somewhat-dried coat back on. “I will return shortly.”
“You’re going? But… you-” Ever the helper, Akari stood up and began to protest before she had even fully thought about what her objection would be, following Ingo down the stairs.
“Please,” Ingo reiterated, the sincerity in his voice clear over the roar of the crowd. On the last step, he was right at the edge of the current pushing for the doorway — a wall keeping her from joining it. Akari knew he was worried that she’d only struggle to keep up with everything that was happening on the beach, even if he’d never outright say it like that. And that was eating her up inside.
She wanted to tell him no, she wouldn’t be an issue that he or anyone else would have to worry about. But with her dominant arm still out of commission, and her struggles with swimming, Akari realized that realistically, she really couldn’t be of much help.
But what about him?
“But, your back-”
“It will be alright. My cab is in stable enough condition after the brief rest. There are passengers that require assistance, and I must ensure we help get them back behind the yellow line.”
The teenager sighed. She could not argue with that. “…ok.”
“Thank you.” Ingo’s hand squeezed her shoulder gently, his own equivalent of a reassuring hug. The shouting crowd was beginning to pull him along. “Again, I promise I will return shortly!”
And with that, Ingo let himself go into the current of people pushing for the door, the flow now beginning to thin. His weathered coat and hat disappeared amongst the masses, and out somewhere into the rain.
Akari stood there on the steps watching the waning crowd filter out, until everyone had trickled through the doors - their animated conversations and loud bustling gradually faded with them, and when the Galaxy Hall’s doors shut, Akari found herself standing alone on the stairs, surrounded by scarce children and older folks in loud silence.
A weak sensation buzzed in her chest - now she felt something akin to envy.

Kyuun: Tycoon's dead.
Neon: Okay
---
Geats HCs
I feel like Neon is too emotionally and mentally drained to care what happened.
The things that happened on her birthday and the day after was too much for her to cope.
She still shares the same birthday as Akari as she was born to rewrite the timeline of Akari's death which means she also has Akari's memories up to that point.
However when it really hits her that Keiwa's dead, like dead-dead. Tears won't stop streaming from her eyes.
She blames herself for not being there when Keiwa probably needed her.
The last time she did was push him away when he just showed his support for her.
Kyuun tries to support her, in his own way, but he oftentimes badmouths Keiwa unintentionally with backhanded compliments.
Upon Neon's request that he just be there don't say anything, he complies.
She continues to grieve for Keiwa but she does recover over time.
Just in time for the floating city to fall back down, slowly.
The next time She saw... Tycoon.
There were no other words, Tycoon didn't say a word but he was everyone's enemy. the DGP's and the JGP's.
He attacks anyone and everyone indiscriminately without a word to any one of them.
She goes to the Sakurai residence only to see Sara in all black, still believing that he brother was dead.
She did not have the heart to tell her that she just saw her brother, but did not act like anything her brother should.
Everyone continued to fight Tycoon, and they managed to break the helmet, and Keiwa's face was there but it was unfocused its like her wasn't even in the body.
Assuming Buffa continues to live, Neon would immediately slap Buffa after that reveal
Assuming Beroba's there too, she would slap that old woman too.
However no one had the time to capture Tycoon as he soon disappeared, leaving a log in his wake.
Ace would reveal his relation to the goddess of creation and depending on what's revealed in 32 she'd be horrified.
Which would also bring her to the realization that she was created at the cost of so many lives.
"What do we do now"
"Live, we did not want to be born, we just are."
"but'
"It's not our fault or at least that's what I keep telling myself."
yesyesyesyes
you put it into words!!!!

Episode 30.
Much like OG Adventure, the time dilution between the Worlds meant that only some time passed between the cast's disappearance, and return.
Bagramon starts his actual plan of entering the real world (as Wisemon stated, the real world's cyberspace was formerly a part of the Digital World).
The cast get their new clothes, with Taiki getting his clothes for the next season. After the Marine Day event, Taiki states he is going back to the Digital World.
Omegamon reveals he was the one who gave Xros Loader to Taiki.
Tactimon tries to Realize into the real world.
Much like Venom Vamdemon, Tactimon is not fully in control of himself, and mostly only remembers his hatred for Taiki.
However, as he fully Realizes, he returns to his original state of mind.
With Akari, and Zenjirou's powers awakening Omegamon's power, Taiki performs his first Evolution, Omega Shoutmon.
Episode ends with Yuu being revealed as Dark Knightmon's new pawn.
****
With this, first Season of Xros Wars is over, and DigiXrossing as the main power-up is also over, as Evolutions are brought back.
Beelzebumon's situation will be retconned into being an Evolution, when it was initially showcased to be a reincarnation.
