it's okay if you don't post daily like the purpose of your account, do not upset. you have a life, i have a life, everyone has a life. school, work, family, etc. you could be busy, or feeling down. if someone thinks you may be sad and asks you, you could open up to them, or not (not recommended).
it is not your fault if something bad happens, it really isn't. if you keep getting mad and feel like you're stupid, don't think that. nobody is stupid. you probably can't control it.
it is okay. i do not mind if you are not posting daily, i understand. you can rebrand your account to just being stuff about happy star, but not daily. you shouldn't open up in a post though by the way, people can make fun of you for it.
have a good day, and don't stress yourself too much. i hope i am not pressuring you .
regards, some person
thanks

it is a fact, though, that is is common for people to leave a bad relationship by falling into a new romantic one. it is not wise. it is a pattern of behaviour and codependency and can be a cycle that cannot be escaped. if I had a nickel for everyone I knew who just traded one relationship for another without dealing with what they needed to first, and then just want up making more excuses and putting up with more problematic behaviour, and trying to make it work. it's not about Chris. not
first of all: not only you (general you, the people of my original post, maybe you too, I don’t know) might be accusing a good, honest man and husband of being abusive or at the very least careless as hell, you are really assuming that Melissa must be unable to determine whether this relationship is okay or not because... everybody is the same, I guess, and you know her personally, know if she’s going to therapy, know what kind of support she has in her daily life, know how Chris behaves, know how aware she is of red flags and how careful she is now? Do the people posting about them know about any of this? Or are they just assuming things and deciding for her and publicly speaking about her as someone who can only be pushed around right now, something that frankly if Melissa read, or anyone in her position did, wouldn’t exactly feel great and would also feel pretty invasive and entitled?
yes, I’ve had friends in the same exact situation, in one case 3 monster-boyfriends in a row, and I’m well aware of how you must work on yourself too, it’s not enough to break up with a guy. I also have had friends who out of a toxic relationship and found the perfect guy and I’m so happy for her, she didn’t have to wait at all, it’s like he came from the sky and he’s the most sweet, respectful guy who takes care of her. Anything can happen. In no case, they’d want a stranger to start discussing their new partners in public, or their ability to say no, how much they might have healed before they dated someone new, how much detaching and healing and therapy was happening before they got together with the new person, and to doubt their ability to choose again. I don’t know about the people you know, but everybody I know would be disgusted and angry and feel very insulted. In fact, no one I know really wants even their friends to assume and imply and hint at them not having the ability to be in a decent relationship when 1 they aren’t asked 2 they don’t have all the facts 3 they aren’t asked and 4 they are actually discussing it in a public forum for other strangers. I’ll discuss how it is about Chris later, but even if it weren’t, nobody is entitled to spread suspects about a relationship between two people they don’t even know and who didn’t ask for those opinions (especially when they have been bullied for years and mistreated by loud parts of the public who was already making up stuff based on how they read the little they knew) and Melissa would be disgusted too, like anyone in her position. Like you would, if strangers started deciding how you are living and what problems you have and if your loved ones are assholes based on their experience.
Many abuse survivors have to also re-learn to trust their instincts, when they are in a new relationship they have to be careful about not becoming abusers themselves because they want to control the situation or expect the worst and mistreat their partner (happened to some of my friends as I said before), they have to re-learn to see what’s good and what isn’t without people, much less strangers, putting their two cents and filling their head with paranoia, insecurity, and honestly, straight up badmouthing the new guy based on their imagination, their prejudice towards him and/or their personal experience which is different for everybody. The abuse survivor could be in therapy, or sadly not, but they can read these things and still get more messed up because feeling powerless and unable to understand the situation they are in, it’s not all the same for everybody and I can’t imagine someone actually benefiting from these kind of posts, they can only cause harm (or delight for people who feel so excited about giving unsolicited opinions). Melissa won’t. Chris won’t. Abuse survivors reading this who already doubt themselves will be even more scared. Abuse survivors who are getting in another abusive relationship won’t realize what’s happening reading posts that gossip about Melissa’s new husband without proof. Melissa came out to help people in abusive relationships, not to have people start dissecting her life and her choices before and after.
And considering that some of the comments there were literally about Chris looking like her ex husband, some comments were about the things Chris does and that “”””must”””” make her feel bad but she’s too weak after her past problems to say no right away, I’d say that 1 it’s definitely personal and about Chris and there is hardly any good faith in it 2 in some cases people are projecting their own traumas. Don’t do that. It’s bad. You lose objectivity and you also mess up another person life 3 don’t assume you know how Melissa had changed now, what she’ll put up with, and what Chris considers healthy. It takes two to be in a couple. 4 don’t go spread your opinions about how she must be still manipulated by her new husband in tags where everybody can read and just take it at face value, which is not the same as you discussing it alone with your friend, it’s more like you standing on top of a table at the market and discussing the personal life of someone who works nearby and is an abuse survivor and telling people “I think her new boyfriend is still manipulating her because she didn’t take enough me-time after the divorce and he looks like an asshole and I have many other reasons to believe so”. You will get sued. You will get people to believe you even if they don’t have facts and make her more uncomfortable. You’ll get people to doubt their own instincts and hers, you’ll be dismissing what she says, how she feels, and somehow it’s still better than what’s happening on tumblr where people skip the whole ‘I think’ and go straight to ‘it’s like this, it’s a fact’. Look at the Melissa tag right now and tell me you don’t see posts speculating on what Chris has been doing and how it badly affected Melissa who was too weak to fight it. Or how men aren’t supposed to get together with women that fast (who cares about what the women want there, right). All put in words that would make anyone go ‘oh that must be true’ except you have no idea of what went down there and they are just, as always, making something look worse and worse so more people can later jump in and immediately go to the worst case scenario.
Also let’s not pretend that years after starring in a tvshow Chris doesn’t get regularly bullied by hundreds of people on all social networks because they can’t distinguish fiction from reality and also think they are bettering the world because they are punishing someone they deem morally questionable due to a role he played, and do so attacking everything from his physical appearance (classy and not at all going to hit people who have ‘flaws’ like his) and volunteer work and personality and mental issues.
And just to conclude with a personal and important anecdote: My friend, an abuse survivor, ended up adopting abusive techniques to deal with her new boyfriend. Because of how she described the relationship, with no facts, just my opinion and how I was so paranoid due to my past and due to tumblr itself, I was convinced he was the one acting with malice and being abusive because everything can be read that way if you have prejudices, and once she actually went to therapy it turns out that no, it’s not him, she’s manipulating him and he’s just an ass, and my idea that ‘I saw these two things he did, must be a pattern, she’s already been abused, he’s abusive too’ actually pushed her behind in her healing process. Because I spread my ideas as facts due to my own perception of what was happening, with the limited knowledge I am, I hurt people. What do you think what’s happening on tumblr will do to all the sensitive people reading? Don’t assume that something is happening just because ‘historically’ it can happen or because it happened to you and more importantly don’t spread it around. Don’t put malicious ideas in people’s heads. Hope for the best, if you believe the worst discuss it in private where it can’t harm anyone, but don’t tell me what Melissa must or must not be doing or feelings because we DON’T KNOW HER. You can barely try to guess what your friends do and feel with the knowledge they allow you to have, what more a stranger. Hell, even therapists have to be careful not to ‘decide’ what the patient has right away or they’ll only see what they want to see and dismiss the rest, it goes twice for people yelling about it on the internet.

“Close your eyes.” Tom grinned, before standing behind Danielle.
“What are you doing?” She tried to look around at him. “Tom?”
“It’s a surprise.” He grinned, preventing her from doing so and placing his hands over his eyes and gently moving her forward.
“But we are leaving the room.” She whined, “And there are stairs out here.”
Tom took his hands away again. “Right so, as soon as we get downstairs, allow me to blindfold you.”
“This is getting progressively more into the realms of kinky and disturbing simultaneously.” She eyed him warily before walking down the stairs.
Tom bit his lips together. “Only you could see it like that.” When they got to the bottom, he grabbed her again before she could jump away from him and blocked her eyesight again. “Come on, I’ll let you know if there are any steps or anything.” He promised.
“I’m not going to lie, Tom, I was sort of looking forward to staying in the room and having some fun,” Danielle whispered.
“And I swear to you, darling, this evening, after dinner, I am going to have it that you never want to leave our room,” Tom promised, his voice deep and low against the shell of her ear, causing her skin to break out in Goosebumps. “Doorway step,” he informed her, making sure she took a large step over the threshold of the door so not to trip.
“You seem to think there is something that would convince me to not want that right now.”
“There is.” He promised, “Ready?”
“What have you done, Tom?” Danielle asked fearfully, not sure if she wanted to see.
“Are you ready?”
“Yes,” Danielle answered warily. Tom took his hands from her eyes and for a moment, she was scared to look. Slowly, she opened one eye, before what was that was waiting for her came into focus and she opened both, gasping in shock as she did. “But…” she looked at Tom. “How?”
Tom watched in delight as she ran over to her dog, who was whining with joy at seeing his master after so long. “Well, I thought this would be far better than a simple photo.” Tom beamed. “You said they do dog boarding here, so I thought; why not bring Mac for the weekend.”
Danielle looked at him, her eyes watery with happiness as she cuddled her dog. “Thank you.” The words were barely a squeak as she kissed the dog’s head. “Thank you so much, Tom.”
Tom knelt down so to rub Mac and gave her a kiss on the temple, “Anything for you, darling. So many women want diamonds, round the world expensive holidays and designer bags, but you, all you want is a picture of your pet to know he is okay.” He rubbed Mac too. “Besides we had a great time, he just sat in the back seat and chilled out.”
“I cannot believe you drove to your mum’s, got my dog and drove him all the way here in your really expensive car.” Danielle shook her head in disbelief.
“It’s a car Elle, just a car, he got some fur on a blanket, it is hardly life ending.”
“To a lot of people, it would be.”
“It’s not, he was a great travel companion, weren’t you boy?” he grinned. Mac Tíre decided to lick him in agreement. “See, but I did promise him we would walk him if he was good,” Tom stated as though saying that a good child was promised dessert after eating all their dinner.
“I’ll get a coat.” Danielle spun on her heels and raced back inside.
“I told you she was happy to see you, didn’t I boy?” he smiled, untying Mac from the post he had him waiting at. “She missed you as much as you missed her.” The dog barked happily once in response. “You don’t mind sharing her with me, do you?” The dog seemed to take a moment to think over the statement before giving a small groan noise of contentment and leaning into Tom’s hand for another ear scratch. “I thank you for your understanding, boy.” He smiled. When he looked up again, he saw Danielle walking out the door of the small B&B she was calling home for the duration of her job. “Ready?”
“I am.” She had a smile on her face that caused a bubble of elation in his stomach as she looked at him, a fondness he had not seen in her eyes before. “What?” she asked, her head cocked to the side slightly.
“Nothing, you look so happy.”
“I am, thank you, Tom.” She gave him an even more dazzling version of that smile.
“It’s nothing more than anyone would do, darling, it’s just bringing your pet to you.” He stood to his full height again and leant over to hug her against him.
“No, it’s so much more than that.” she looked at him adoringly. “I…I can’t even put it into words.”
“Well, if you ever find a way to, let me know.” He grinned, “Where’s a nice quiet walk around here?”
“It’s the middle of nowhere, the town is fifteen minutes that way,” she pointed to the left, “but there are some nice fields with sheep to the right.”
“Will Mac be alright?”
“You mean will he try to chase them? I am not giving him the option.” She smiled, taking the lead from Tom and making sure Mac was fully comfortable in his walking gear before stepping forward. “Shall we?”
“Are you frightened of us being spotted?”
“The actors are in a town a few towns over, they won’t expect to see a real-life Hollywood star on a small back road walking a dog with a girl no one knows you are dating, so no, I’m not. And even if we are, it is going to happen sooner or later, right? I just need to live with it.” She shrugged.
“I don’t deserve you,” Tom made sure to stay in step with her as she started a healthy pace, Mac enjoying the smells of new surrounds.
“Tell me something I don’t know,” Danielle joked as she looked up at him.
*
“Fuck,” Danielle forced herself to stay as quiet as she could considering there were others staying in the B&B as Tom began to thrust up into her, but it was difficult considering he was doing everything in his power to make her come apart, inside and out.
“Elle.” It was taking considerable control on Tom’s behalf to not come as soon as he entered her, finally feeling her willing body around him for the first time in a few weeks, and her wearing the sexiest little lacy underwear she had bought for their reunion, it revealed only hints of skin around her breasts and ass, but hugged her tightly. “God, I’ve missed you.”
“Yes, so much.” She agreed, her voice hushed, but the honesty was blatant. “I’m gonna…”
“Yes, please…” Tom hurried his movements, trying to make her fall apart for the third time that evening. “I need to…”
“Close baby?” she bit his bottom lip and pulled it slightly.
“Fuck, yes, yes…” the small sensation of pain from her bite and the feel of her body tightening around his cock caused his orgasm to hit him, his sharp thrusts causing her own to occur, both gasping and moaning as they did so. “Elle.” Tom could barely speak.
“Mmhmm?” she was still above him, her legs straddling him as she shook slightly from her release.
“I missed you so much.” He declared, not caring if it seemed too much in his post-coital bliss.
“I missed you too.”
“What will we do if I have to go away for a film?”
Danielle sighed, toying with some stray hairs that were on his forehead. “I will have to get over it and look forward to seeing you again on your return or when I can return this favour and visit you on your job.”
“Would you?” she frowned. “Would you come visit me?”
“I would.” She nodded.
“I love you.” He leant up and kissed her.
“I happen to love you too, Tom.” She smiled, kissing him again.
*
“You look happy with yourself.” The makeup artist winked at Danielle as she walked onto the set. “I take it the boyfriend wasn’t too jetlagged for a little fun last night.”
“You need to get your girlfriend up here, STAT!” Danielle laughed.
“Girl, I may be sexually frustrated, but that only makes me all the more able to sense a girl who got herself some last night.” Nacelle laughed. “And Becky is coming here next week. But that does not answer my question.” Danielle said nothing, but looking down as she blushed. “Don’t need an answer; your face says it all.” Danielle just shrugged. “Mr Promotions may end up getting one of his own soon if you think that way about him.”
“Getting a what?”
“A promotion,” Danielle cocked her head slightly, not understanding what Nacelle was saying. “You telling me you would say no if he got on one knee?”
“We are nowhere near ready for any of that yet.” Danielle dismissed immediately.
“But you see it with him?”
“Do you see it with the famous Becky?”
“I have the ring, I am just waiting for Christmas to be over to ask her, I don’t want her thinking it is some terrible holiday gimmick, I want to ask her on a random day, just for us.”
“Why not before Christmas then, next week, walking up the hillside, cold crisp air and a hot chocolate in hand, and just ask her?”
“You didn’t strike me as the romantic type Danny, but you are actually the sickly adorable one. I bet you and ‘Promotions’ are adorable and snugly at home together. Does he have a real name?”
“Thomas.”
“Jesus, that actually sounds as…proper as a career in sales is.” Nacelle laughed light-heartedly. “Well, I bet you and ‘Tommy Boy’ are just sickly cute.”
“He brought my dog up for the weekend, my B&B has kennels and he actually brought the dog with him.” Danielle smiled uncontrollably.
“I’m more of a snake or rodent person myself, but that’s cute in anyone’s book.”
“I wish I could have brought him to work with me.”
“Tommy?”
“Mac, the dog.” Danielle laughed.
“What are they doing now?”
“They’ve gone for a run, I got a text and a photo of their stop near the lake.” Danielle explained, holding up her phone to show Nacelle the picture Tom sent of Mac Tíre looking over the water, no hint of the man who was with him in the picture making Danielle feel safe in showing it, with the title “I may look all regal, but I am thinking of a dental stick I was promised for posing”.
“Okay, you two are nauseating.” Nacelle just walked off, “Seriously, I am getting nauseous.”
“I’ll let him know you think that.” Danielle smiled; she sent him back a reply. “Can work hurry the fuck up and finish for today. I want to get back to my boys.”
“Wait and see Danny, I will be doing your makeup for your wedding very soon.” Nacelle beamed.
“Really?” Danielle laughed with a raised brow
“Oh yes, you’ll get in some hack and I’ll be a regular guest because you won’t want to pay out my extortionate prices, and I’ll see you and get you to the nearest room and have to redo it all, wait and see.” The other woman swore as she waved goodbye.
Biting her lips slightly, Danielle’s eyes flitted side to side for a moment, in truth, it was far too early to ever consider such things and she knew whatever about Tom, she was nowhere near ready, but the image Nacelle put in her mind made her smile uncontrollably. Putting her phone away again, she went to the office to see what was needed for her day’s work.

Never Trust Thorne’s Money-Making Schemes-- Cresswell and Kaider Fake Marriage AU
Hello! This short chapter of a fic was inspired from this post here. Summary: Cress wants some extra cash for a new computer, so she takes up the offer of her criminal crush Thorne to send out fake wedding invitations in the hopes that celebrities will reply with money. As you can imagine, there are many, many flaws in this plan, particularly when one of the celebrities RSVPs to the fake wedding.
...
“How about babysitting?” Cress asked, tucked up onto a chair in her and Cinder’s office. “That has to be an easy way to make some extra cash, right?”
Cinder snorted, “There is nothing easy about babysitting, trust me. I grew up with two younger siblings. I know what I’m talking about.”
“Okay, okay,” Cress said, scrolling back on her tablet. “Lawn work? Freelance coding? Grocery store bagger?”
“Look, I’m all for you getting a second job Cress, but I know we’ve been swamped at our business here, what with you doing all the software and me the hardware, and you’ve barely found the time to sleep. How are you going to find the time to add more responsibility to that?”
“I know…but it would be so nice to have a little extra cash to buy a new computer with higher processing power. Too bad there’s no simple way to get the money without putting in extra time.”
“As I’ve said before,” Thorne looked up from where he was sprawled on the ground, placing wrenches on top of one another to see how high he could get them to stack. Despite both Cress and Cinder’s efforts to get their criminal-minded friend out of their workspace, he always seemed to appear and stick around. “I am happy to include you in schemes I have that will make you twice the money in a fourth of the time. And you won’t have to see any screaming toddlers.”
Cress sighed, “Thorne, we’re not becoming criminals. I like to obtain my money the legal way.”
“Boring.” Thorne placed another wrench onto his stack, making the whole thing tilt dangerously to the side. “But if you insist, I have some semi-legal ones. Just a bit of lying, no breaking the law or any consequences.”
“Really? Excuse me if I’m a bit skeptical, since the last time you said no consequences we ended up bailing you out of jail.”
“Trust me, this one’s right up your alley Cress. It’s all over the internet and you can set it up within ten minutes, tops. I call it: the marriage scam.”
“The what?” Cinder asked, eyebrow raised. “You and marriage? Very surprising, our self-proclaimed forever-the-most-eligible bachelor.”
Thorne waved, the tower wobbling dangerously. “No, no, there’s no actual marriage. Stars, could you imagine? That’s like, the worst scam ever. Nah, it’s just something my buddies and I used to run all the time in college. See, there’s all these rich celebrities in the world, and they get invites from fans to stuff all the time—prom, funerals, birthday parties, weddings, ect. Most just trash them, but every once in a while a generous rich soul’s assistant replies and sends a wad of cash in lieu of attendance. Since weddings are the most celebratory, they make the most money. So, you take advantage of this by drafting up a fake wedding invitation, sending it to a bunch of rich people, and cross your fingers that the cash starts rolling in. It’s not a sure thing, but it is a great way to get some spare cash to have on hand.”
Cinder rolled her eyes, “If you spent half the time doing homework and attending class that you spent drafting up get-rich-quick schemes, you would have actually graduated college, you know that, right?”
Thorne winked at her, “But where’s the fun in that?”
“Hold on,” Cress looked at Thorne, her brow creased. “Don’t you run the risk of the person actually saying they’ll attend the wedding?”
“Not really. Just put the wedding in some small town no one’s ever heard of, and no way the celebrity will be bothered.”
“Still seems shady.”
“Think of it this way Cress. Who’s better off with that money? Some rich dude who’s sitting on bags of it, or a co-owner of a computer business who will use the money to better serve her community?”
Cinder tilted her head to the side, “He may have a point Cress. You need money, and this isn’t really illegal.”
“Yesss,” Thorne hissed. “Join the dark side.” Both women sent him unimpressed stares.
“Okay,” Cress drawled. “But who am I going to marry? Don’t exactly have a line of people wanting to fake marry me.”
“I’ll do it,” Thorne shrugged. He placed another wrench on his tower, and the whole thing toppled.
Cress looked away from him immediately, color rising to her face. “Oh you don’t…you don’t have to do that. I was just joking.”
“I don’t mind.” Thorne started rebuilding his tower, carefully avoiding eye contact with Cress. “It was my idea, and it’s not like we’re actually getting married since that would be super crazy and ridiculous because we’re totally just friends.”
“Yeah,” Cinder looked between her two friends, eyes narrowed. “Ridiculous.”
Cress coughed, “Yup, all the friendly feelings for you here!” She turned her face away, wincing at what she knew was the awkward-est way she could have responded to the statement. Cress focused back on her tablet, refusing to acknowledge the fact that she felt Thorne’s stare on her, because that surely didn’t lead anywhere good.
“So, is the con on?” Thorne asked, and Cress was forced to meet his gaze. It immediately caused her to blush.
“Yes,” she coughed out. “Pulling up wedding invite templates online now.”
“Great,” Thorne grinned. “Make it look real official, and don’t forget to make a fake wedding website in case they do a cursory google search. How about we set our fake wedding date about two months from now? Oh, and make sure to include a little sentence about how much you love the celebrity and wish they could be at the wedding.”
“Perfect,” Cress nodded, barely able to look at her fake fiancé without thinking things that were definitely not in the realm of friendly. But really, how could she when he was grinning at her like that with those dimples?
“This is going to be a disaster,” Cinder muttered, already feeling the headache coming on.
…
Kai was sitting by the koi ponds.
Alone. As always.
A side effect of growing up as an only child in a mansion, he supposed, and spending his adult life in boardroom meetings with people twice his age. Being an executive in the billion-dollar tech conglomerate family company really didn’t leave time for making friends, much less finding a girlfriend.
He was startled out of his thoughts by his phone ringing.
“Hello?”
“Good afternoon Kai,” his assistant answered. “I couldn’t seem to find you in the office, so I thought I’d call as requested to give you your daily email updates.”
“Yes, of course. Anything important?”
“Meeting request with a new potential supplier, golf invitation from one of our sponsors, a wedding invitation, and the usual board meeting updates.”
“A wedding invitation? I don’t know anyone getting married.”
“It seems to be a tech repair shop co-owner getting married who is a huge fan of what you’ve done with the family company. Thought they’d invite you on the off chance their idol could make it.”
Kai thought for a moment, staring at the koi pond. “Would they happen to me around my age?”
There was a pause, and he heard some typing. “According to their wedding page, they are very close to your age. What would you like me to do? Ignore it? Send them a monetary gift?”
Well, when life gives you wedding invitations…
“RSVP for me. And clear my schedule the week of the wedding.”
There was a long pause, enough that Kai started to wonder if he had gone truly crazy.
“Yes, of course.”
“Thank you,” Kai replied, hanging up the phone and smiling.
While unconventional, Kai couldn’t help but be excited at the prospect of meeting fans and perhaps gaining some friends who didn’t have grey hair.
...
So thanks for reading! I don’t have any plans to write more of this, but I just had this idea and a burst of inspiration and couldn’t help myself. But please, if you liked it, feel free to continue the story! Just reblog this post with your next chapter, or tag me so I can read it!

He loves singing, but the touring was getting old. Living in a bus nine months out of the year was slowly destroying his creativity. He hasn’t written anything new in over a year. Then he hears an old song on the radio. He vaguely remembers the handsome singer and wondered whatever happened to him. Before he knew it, he’d written a new song. The only problem was…it was a duet. A duet that could only be sung with a voice like Winchester’s.After locating the man’s ranch, Cas makes a surprise visit. Will he be able to talk Dean into joining him on stage after all these years? Will the two men find what they’ve been looking for all their lives – someone to share a future with?

All Castiel knows is that the desire glinting in Dean's green eyes is even more dangerous than he is. Castiel fights to keep his mind on business, but during the long nights on the trail with the dangerously handsome hunter he finds himself dreaming of yielding to Dean's illicit kisses and losing himself in lawless passion. Dean Winchester is about to hang when Castiel saves his neck with his crazy plan. But dying might be better than spending day and night playing nursemaid to such an infuriating city slicker. He appreciates the stubborn detective's desire for justice, but he'd appreciate Cas a lot more if he'd stop being a lawman long enough to just be a man. He certainly has all the right equipment. Dean aches to run his fingers through Castiel's dark hair, yearns to know how Castiel's golden skin will feel against him. And before the coming of the next dawn, Dean vows to teach him the pleasures and sweet rewards of a Hunter's Caress.

Mail Order Familiar by Amethystaris, BlueMasquerade [M, 62,000 word count] (previously recced here) *
Dean Winchester was a Familiar meant for the wide-open spaces of the frontier. An ad in the paper combined with increasing pressure from his grandfather to sign a contract with a Witch of Samuel’s choice was just the motivation Dean needed to leave the big city behind. What he expects to find is a year of hard work and rough living cleansing the land of magics that corrupted it centuries ago. What he doesn’t expect is that the Witch waiting for him just might be exactly what he has been looking for his whole life. Castiel Angelus is cautiously optimistic that the Familiar he’s agreeing to work with, sight unseen, will be a good fit for his power. He’s chosen to work on the frontier in order to escape his demanding family and their unceasing ambitions. He finds that Dean’s compatibility is beyond his wildest dream. Their bonds, both magical and personal, will be tested to the limits as they encounter the source of the corruption and seek to defeat it, before it’s too late.

Dean is a sheriff in a tiny town in Colorado, restless and unsatisfied with his life. It's not what he's read about in the dime novels since he was little, capturing dangerous outlaws and being the last word of the law. More like tossing the town drunk in a cell to sober up when he gets a little too rowdy. But his chance comes when a thief rolls through their town. Dean pursues the thief, and that puts him right into the path of Emmanuel, a notorious outlaw. When he's captured by the outlaw and his gang to be held for ransom, he starts off on a journey he could have never envisioned, and learns that perhaps there's more to Emmanuel than meets the eye.
