ok. so. a bit of admitting a shame here. my first playthrough of lies of p i DID cheat on second phase of final boss. i had his first phase down and his second phase i was barely lasting at all. i spent idk. an hour or so trying and was getting sick of it esp because you can't use a spectre on that boss. i was SO good at first phase but it still was a pain to get through first phase to get walloped in second phase. i have wemod on my computer so i just cracked that babey open because i wanted to. finish the game. i AM hoping that i'll be able to fight him properly in new game plus here (and I will be a little more patient as i wont be like 'i MUST finish this game' especially because i am getting the same ending i got the first time rn). anyways.

my thing with these boss-focused games is like. i do love challenge and its fun but i do not enjoy spending hours on a boss. this is ironic (and i am making this post for this reason): in other games i do this without hesitation.

i nightmare raid in swtor. we spent like 9 months irl as a team working on taking down revan, and every week i get into swtor for 2-4 hours to slam my head against bosses i've been fighting for years with my team. that is like. endless patience.

also. in megaten games i am ALSO much more chill with boss attempts taking hours. my first playthrough of strange journey, i didn't know what shekinah's mechanics would be (obviously) so i was not prepared and thus EACH ATTEMPT i would survive about 12 hours worth of turns before I'd die (or kill her). i legitimately. over several weeks. did multiple 7-12 hour attempts on the final boss before i finally got her down (pausing often of course but i timed myself for a few of those attempts just so i had an idea when i realized how long it was taking me). ofc my second playthrough i was way more prepared so the fight took, idk, an hour or whatever. but i had the tenacity to keep pushing rather than change my party setup that first run. i was OBSTINATE.

and like. swtor isn't turn based and strange journey is, so like, you can pause during the fight and whatever. but THEN i remember when i played raidou 2 i ALSO had an issue with the final boss b/c i refused to play that game correctly, so i wasn't using demons as attackers. i put everything into raidou and my demons were healing tanks to me. i got so good at dodge rolling and such. and the final boss is like, you are supposed to use your demons offensively and hit weaknesses to keep your magitite up, etc. i did do a little bit of that, but i spent like 2 hours rolling around on the ground in my successful attempt (and if memory servers, the final boss of raidou 2 only took me like. a handful of times to beat. i may have even beat it on my first go? i probably needed like 2-3 though, but it wasn't long. my successful attempt took longer than anything else and i did all of that in an evening).

anyways. idk. i am rambling. i just think it's interesting that in games like lies of p and furi, these like more boss-focused hack-and-slash-with-parries style gameplay im like. nah.

Welcome back to reaper talks bitches, i just finished my first playthrough of Shadows Over Loathing and have already started on my second and

I fucking love this game. I mean its made by the people who made of my favorite games ever, West of Loathing so yeah im gonna enjoy it.

But this, this is new, this limits me in sooo many different ways but also opens up the game in ways i couldnt have imagined

Okay first off, not picking you class right at the very very start is great weirdly enough, atleast for me.

It gave me time to see the world through the basic unfiltered lens of someone who has an idea whats to come cuz of me playing the previous game but also no clue as the game hasnt given me any story yet.

Literally, it starts off with you having a copy of LOOK magazine on your face. You also get to really choose your look or well hair situation mainly, you're a stick person hair and accessories are all you got and its early game soooo

But anygays, it doesnt give you story till thr bus ride and even then you dont know your class or if there will even be classes!

I choose pigskinner or whatever my head is running at a million miles per hour rn cuz this hyperfixation is really new and free so double the speed of thoughts

And yeah i could have tried something new especially since 2 out of my 3 wol saves were that game's pigskinner class (cow puncher(?)) But come on, i like my familiar class also i suck as magic/effect heavy builds outside of my spamming of stuff like bleed or on fire

But anygays, the uncursing stuff is super fun tho pretty confusing. Thankfully you cant mess them up to my knowledge, they really test you puzzle skilss and you remembering that most things in this game are interactable (very very important)

Also omg i love any chance to piss a narrator and there are some great ones, the main ones that i can remember rn is the one about you working at all these different places and even being employee of the month despite you either being super young or not born at that time. And the one about you digging wet globs of hair out of sinks, mainly at frat houses. Gross i know, but i fucking dug through every single spittoon in wol, nothing can stop me anymore

The narrator def regrets following this dumbass (me) around but they cant leave so HA

But back to the uncursing, the sickle curse was actually super scary. Like that scarecrow was after ME, not the person i was currently in the body of, no he was after ME, my character also nick come on buddy you dont take loans/favors from The Shadows, thats like rule #265, your ass deserved a lawnmowing.

Also wtf i got sent the lawnmower i made with a note that said "see you in 66 years" or something like that. Like HELLO???? WHICH BITCH GOT MY ADDRESS AND WHO WANTS A PIECE OF ME AND MY LAWNMOWER

Seriously the sickle curse was hands down the scariest part of a game ive played in years and ive somewhat play resident evil 7

Also gods i love the to do list, don't get me wrong i loved asking my companions for reminders but this is super convenient and go for when my companion cant you know, accompany me somewhere

Plus being able see everything together and whats a main quest vs a side quest helps. And making my own notes in game helps since i still havent gotta a notebook for my gaming notes yet

Also the whole thing with the mob was great, 10/10 i love being chaotic and getting paid the big bucks for it. Seriously its worth it and theres even some more pacifist options in those quest lines to. Im very much a nice person to my core despite my nature darkness and chaos, so being able to handle things nicely or well with limited blood shed is nice. Also helps with you, like me, tend to avoid battles you dont gotta fight. Its also a nice puzzle sometimes cuz i cant just shove like 9 different thing down my throat and kick ass. Its one potion and one food at a time.

The combat is definitely different but more in a "its harder to be able to wipe everyone out in seconds" then a "heres a whole new system to learn good luck"

In wol its stupidly easy atleast for me to become a lesser god and wipe out half the map basically even during early game. Tho thats mainly cuz of my past experience and cuz i was raised really good and weirdly so my skills work with this-

But in sol the fights are actually pretty tough, i found myself really rationing my items out even in late game but also heavily relying on them and effects

Which btw go fucking on items and stuff that cause effects like bleed and on fire, trust me its actually kinda necessary

Also the last(?) fight (and the optional golem fight) are like stupidly hard even with all tbr help (finale(?)) While the golem is apparently a push over yet also god number two idk im working on it, apparently they didnt play test it and honestly it kinda shows (neutral)

i am... so close to just playing ac2 again... i just finished revelations earlier today and man, idk how i feel about it yet? it went by so fast, the whole time i felt like i was still at the beginning and only getting started, then all of a sudden i was at sequence 8 and 9, sprinting towards the end. it felt very short for some reason? or like there wasn't a big sense of progression within the story? like i said, for the majority of the game i was waiting for the plot to thicken and then it ended lmao. also i was under the impression i would have more missions per sequence and then i was always flabbergasted when another sequence came and went with way fewer missions than i was anticipating. also i wish there was more yusuf :'//

rn im planning on replaying brotherhood, since i only played it on pc and now i have the chance to play on ps3 :') i do want to play every game in ezio's trilody twice at least, once on pc once on ps3. already did it with ac2 (which is why i am battling the urge to do it again, i need to at least PRETEND i am normal about this italian whore). after my replay of bh i will probably start ac3 and then begin revelations on pc at the same time?

also, i noticed that while i was playing ac2 for a second time i enjoyed it a lot more? for some reason knowing where i was in the story and where it was going made it more fun for me? it also made me better at "balancing" the side content with the main story. i guess its because it made the playthrough less chaotic for me, since i knew what i was doing this time around and didn't have to worry about ending a sequence before i did all the additional stuff i had in it.

and since brotherhood's story didn't stick with me as much as ac2's did, maybe playing it a second time when i know whats going to happen will make me appreciate it more than i initially did. at least that's what im hoping for.

1. Baldur's Gate 3! To no surprise Im sure xD I got re-obsessed recently, finished my first playthrough last friday and currently doing a second one, so Ive been gaming pretty much all my free time 😂🙈 Maybe not the healthiest thing, but Im having fun and it's getting me through the days, so ^^

2. My new group of friends at uni -- I was so surprised about this tbh. Half of our group knew each other before, half just came in (like me) for the master from other places, but somehow we clicked and not only are we planning an overnight trip next month, but Im also having lovely convos with several peeps from our group separately sooo yeah, that's been lovely ^^

3. Sun! Sunlight! Sunny, spring days!!! Gosh, I finally feel alive again 😩💗

4. Everything is blooming! All the fruit trees with all their pretty flowers!! Damn but I love the sight 🥺 we have a lot of fruit trees around the house, cherry, apple, peach and others, and they're pretty much all blooming rn and like it's gonna be gone in a couple of days, but until then, Im just taking it in and savouring the sight ^^

5. Watching a good movie/series -- Im currently watching Shogun and it's such a top tier show, omg. I'm not quite caught up, because I kinda wanna just wait for the last few episodes and binge them, but then again if I feel like watching an ep on any given day I know Im in for a Feast.

i am so hyperfixated on bg3 rn it's insane. but anyway i want to do so many playthroughs bc i want to play every origin character and also romance every character as dark urge (bc i love that scene in act 2 you get for resisting the urge and since i love every companion, i want to see that scene with all of them at least once) so i thought i'd share what playthroughs i want to do and who im gonna romance for that playthrough ! :))

and then for dark urge, i want to romance every companion at least once, though for some characters i'll do it twice. like, shadowheart, astarion and lae'zel i will romance twice bc i want to do one good playthrough and one bad for each since they all have like two different paths you can take (like dark justiciar shadowheart/ turned away from shar shadowheart). i've only beaten the game once so far, and it was on my second playthrough. i played dark urge and romanced gale. it's funny bc i was in act 3 for my first save and was like "hey i might as well start dark urge since i've almost beat this regular playthrough" (i was romancing karlach btw,, i love her sm) but then i started my dark urge save and i though that dark urge was so much more fun that i completely forgot about my other save lol. now, when i make a custom character i only play as dark urge bc i just prefer it overall to the tav playthrough. so yeah it's pretty ambitious of me to plan all these different playthroughs when i've literally only beaten the game once lmao but im in act 3 for wyll origin, astarion origin and a dark urge playthrough where im romancing minthara (that one is on hold until her romance is fixed tho) and im in act 2 for another dark urge gale romance (i wasn't going to romance him again so soon but im literally obsessed lmao) and then im in act 1 for shadowheart origin, gale origin and dark urge but i haven't decided who to romance yet (im doing a no armor challenge run lol).

i would love to know if anyone else is planning on playing an origin character and who you're gonna romance ! :D

its.. its been mostly pokemon. but, splatoon 3, pokemon usum/sm ( ive been playing moon and ultra moon side by side ) and uhhh.. what else... oh! bugsnax is very fun. Play bugsnax. ( honorable mentions; miitopia is very fun and has a lengthy(?) main and postgame, and chicory: a colorful tale is good and underrated pleaaase play it. )

11: Do you prefer ‘blank slate’ main characters you make yourself or otherwise project onto, or characters with a set personality and backstory?

this ones long, sorry. anyways, honest to god i mostly just remake my ocs in 'em. mocha and pink are the usual choices for oc-inserts into any game with character customization - stardew, terraria, pokemon games with customization, lobcorp technically with custom sprites, i sometimes cosplay them in ACNH or splatoon 3, etc. i don't actually own that many games that allow you to customize characters which is a damn shame bc i love any game that allows for it and i need more, there just isnt a super easy way to find them. mocha ( alter ) also likes. ones that have that and romance because hes sappy.

actually speaking of the pokemon games with customization, on a first playthrough of a pokemon game ( or on the main savefile now that the switch is a thing and you can actually have multiple saves by technicality ) i will just make the protagonist myself, usually just named aria. its what i've done since they added customization in x/y. and then in replays, i'll do the oc thing and make specific oc teams and naming themes that fit that oc ( eg, mocha having a lot of coffee or food named pokemon. ) i also do this in games that dont have customization like bw/bw2, its just a little less fun since i cant customize anything.

current ones im actively doing with that rn are scrap in pkmn moon and bit in pokemon ultra moon, along with mocha in another playthrough of pkmn violet. ( he found a shiny nacli???? which fits bc. hey. food pokemon. he named it after some yellow or orange seasoning i forgot the name of since its shiny makes its salt orange-y. it might've been amarillo? )

it also uh works cuz these people r. in my head. cuz. cuz DID. i can get input from them or they can play it themselves if they want. yahoo.

if the game has very limited character customization but you do play a character like for example bugsnax where you can only change the fur but you are playing as someone unique in a sense, i usually will think abt it later and make an oc out of it if i have the time or energy. i don't think abt my "buddy" in bugsnax much, but i should.

20: A boss you think is really cool

god, i do NOT think abt bosses often bc most of the games i play like. have them? but not in a traditional sense.

hm. anyways horrorboros ( splat 3 salmon run ) bc its the easiest king salmonid and i just really like the gimmick of its fight ( WAYYY more than cohozuna fuck cohozuna ). there's also been a good chunk of times where the timer is a few seconds away but me or someone else gets the final hit in JUST in time ( see here ) and its just fun.

the second to last boss took me 7 years to beat but i melted the final boss on my second try lmao

im at like 97% completion rn. there’s two bosses in the overworld that i know of that i haven’t fought, one because they’re in a very hard area and i just can’t get through it no matter how hard i try. the other i did try my best with but had a really hard time. as far as i’ve seen on the subreddit its considered one of the hardest ones so that’s not surprising

the boss before the final one was also extremely hard, actually the hardest i’ve fought in this game, i found it so frustrating like i just could not figure out how to dodge their attacks. turns out that was because i’m allergic to blocking and you can actually block/parry all of their attacks even the ones you think you wouldn’t be able to. so once i figured that out, then learned how to actually do it, then equipped the mea culpa heart that makes blocking easier i was all set. ��

still took a long time because this boss is relentless with the attacks, like you pretty much have to create the openings to attack yourself and that’s best done on one specific attack, which you don’t know when they’re going to do. at the very end they refused to do it so i had to tank a lil bit. like i’m glad i figured out the gimmick of this boss but i’m never gonna win if i just stand there blocking all day you know. also my spell was extremely helpful like holy fucking shit this shit is so good

it’s the first spell you find and it doesn’t take a lot of energy to use it so you can use it like 7 times when you’re full, but it covers the entire arena and it lasts a pretty long time so if it’s a ground-based boss that moves around a lot they’re guaranteed to get hit multiple times. and it does great damage even late-game especially if you use the right beads. that shit is bonkers i love it

so then i made my way to the final boss, and lo and behold, it’s a boss that uses magic, which i have a much easier time with than the melee ones, and it’s also a ground-based boss that gives you really huge openings to attack. so i just blasted my spell a few times and then he died. i didn’t even get to see all of his attacks lmao. 

but yea the bosses in this game are really good. there was a completely bullshit one somewhere in the middle of the game that i didn’t even bother trying to learn, i just cheesed it after dying to it a couple times because it pissed me off. like it has an insta-kill attack and you can only attack its head which most of the time isn’t even in frame because the boss is a snake, it’s just naaaaah. but the others are really good, mostly fair attacks with clear telegraphs and good opportunities for you to attack, and they’re pretty creative design and lore-wise as well as being fun to fight and learn. just a shame there aren’t more of them. 

so at this point i’ve done pretty much everything i could on my first playthrough, collected everything i could, completed all the side quests except for the one i messed up, i also tried going for the true ending but i messed that up as well so i’ll probably just end up getting the good ending, which isn’t the recommended order but idc lol, i just wanted to do as much as possible.

there is one thing im pretty much unable to complete, it’s a side quest that requires you to go through 6 timed platforming challenges, and frankly, it is hell. the first two or three ones i got through fine but the next one is fucking terrible and the other ones probably aren’t any better. i generally like the platforming in this game but these ones are timed and there’s hazards in the worst places and your inputs don’t always register properly and tHEYRE TIMED AND THE TIME LIMIT IS REALLY TIGHT and i just can’t. eh.

1. are you going to buy the new pack (cottage living) when it comes out? no, it looks really nice but i legit never ever buy packs at launch, especially cause this one is a expansion and it will probably go on sale at some point

3. what’s your favorite world? brindleton bay, it gives like seaside cottage vibes. willow creek is good but it’s boring.

13. if you have c&d, do you play with pets? i feel like i haven’t played with cats and dogs in forever. honestly i just have no paitence. noelle fae was supposed to get a cat (there’s a food bowl + cat bed in her house) but when summer vacation started, the amount of time i spent playing ts4 decreased a lot. (this doesn’t really make sense, i have a lot more time. honestly it just has to do with my recent obsession with a certain anime/manga and some other personal thing)

i did random nightmares in may though and i had pets frequently. g5 didn’t because sofia scarlett lived in an apartment, but g2/3/4 had cici, and g1 had all the cats. but that was back in march so it’s been a while.

14. what lifespan do you use? i really want to do aging off but then i feel like it drags on. but aging legit stresses me out, sometimes i just want to sit down and do some cas stuff but i only have 2 hours in real time and there’s like 4 days left till one of my sims’ birthdays. 

15. if you own a lot of packs, how many of them have you actually played through? just so everyone is aware this question was made for me

i feel like eps require a specific save made for testing them out, but the only save i’ve ever made for an ep is noelle fae’s get famous save. 

that is literally a lie - i made a save for island living with one of my 100bc kids, maisie acapella. i did actually post it on tumblr BUT then i deleted all the posts BUT i reblogged them on my alt account BUT i privated my alt account so i honestly forgot about it

i have never played through discover university or watched anyone do it on youtube, i’ve read gerbits’ story about it so i think i’m pretty qualified. i’ve always wanted to do one with periwinkle acapella but i never got around to it

another ep i know nothing about is get to work

i tried doing a eco life playthrough but i hadn’t watched any videos and i was like..what is going on. so i quit lolx d ;;;;; i mentioned it but the whimsy stories legacy was the first time i had played with the eco lifestyle features so technically i think i know what im doing

i got outdoor retreat literally on monday of this week so i haven’t played through it yet. 

jungle adventure i still don’t know what’s going on. i remember last year before i bought the pack i was brainstorming, and wanted to do a ja playthrough with luna and cedar, who are a couple who i did a random legacy with and it was all queued to post when i deleted everything (if you’re wondering why, it’s because my queue was literally 200+ posts). except this time i didn’t save them to my sideblog so i lost them. 

i still havent had a restaurant in dine out 

also never did the vet thing from cats and dogs

i have no idea what that rock climbing thing is from snowy escape but i did most of the other stuff because rn g5

city living i did through psc stage 5 and also it was the first pack i bought anyways

the rest of them are either stuff packs or i ended up playing them through casual gameplay (seasons, parenthood)

16. what do you do as you play sims? (ex. listen to music) i listen to music most of the time, or listen to commentary youtube videos because i am an alpha chad. i also used to talk with my friends on voice call but i don’t do that anymore 🥲

17. which sims challenges have you tried? random legacy, whimsy stories, perfect sim challenge, 100 baby, legacy (just the plain get-to-10-gens one), random nightmares, berry zodiac, astrology legacy, apocalypse

i feel like im forgetting some.. honestly most of the stuff i did before simblr was either 100 baby (i love that challenge) or random saves that lasted for 2 seconds. 

18. do you like the new(ish) hair swatches? nah. 

i do appreciate that most cc hairs have a true (ish) black, thank god! and the fact that the hair update is what inspired me to update and fix a bunch of hairs with different issues is pretty nice. but will i use them? no. 

plus it takes up like 5 gb? depending on how many packs you have.

noelle is blonde and has blue-grey eyes. she wears purple contacts pretty often though (because she wants to 😌)

alari has light brown hair that is kinda curly, and she’s got pretty vibrant blue eyes. 

they’re sisters, alari is 3 years older than noelle. noelle was 19 and alari was 22 when they got spotted

they worked as models when they were young adults. their jobs involved dyeing their hair blue/pink, and they would model like clothes and stuff. anyways, they were pretty successful. like not ultra famous but they had enough money to not work for the rest of their lives. 

their modeling group was made of 4 girls, the others were named paisley autumn and they were green and red, respectively. some things are: 

paisley and alari started dating during this 

autumn was a single mother to a little girl named destiny

noelle dated many people during this but never ended up finding the one <3

when their contract ended after like 6 years, paisley and alari went to go live together and noelle decided to get into acting. so thats when get famous playthrough started!

since i accidentally ended up in orange oasis i decided to dick around and i think i triggered everything major. found orange joe’s brother (hope and vigor!) which was v sweet (: also i ended up in raintown on COMPLETELY accident and i was literally so confused i only managed to take a screenshot at the last second

anyway i did a bunch of digging at dino dig (the enemies in there are fucking CRAZY hard i literally spent an hour on one battle alone)(if ur curious it was against a cilantro and celery duo) and had a lot of fun getting the thank-u bone and unlocking all th levels (tho kinda peeved it doesnt remember ur progress so u have to do it all in one go but w/e)

speaking of dino dig i got the letter x for the hangman puzzle and on god i am afraid! no idea what the message could say at the bottom even though i’ve found a few letters for it, two of those being vowels

anyway ive finished all quests that were on my plate except for the shwo tickets one and im v excited to continue th story next time i play! i dont expect to find basil tho,,but perhaps sumthing else

i replayed kz again tonight and managed to beat it in 4 hrs instead of 11 !!! which is rly cool imo, i think i got a max of like 50 deaths or less for the full run ??? i was just playing regularly but usin the prism blade for the cool blood effects, not in speedrun mode for the counter, and i managed 2 drag my friend into hyperfixation hell with me :} but also i have some thoughts and opinions im not rly sure how to compile in a meaningful way, so here’s the like. pure brain-down-on-blog post version under the cut. if this gets auto-tagged into the real actual tag for this game im very sorry for my hubris im just. thinking emoji

so id like to start this with the final boss makes me SO sad :( like yeah she doesnt have much dialogue but idk she just makes me so sad. she’s so desperate and she Knows shes going to lose and im just like. no!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you’re so cool!!!!!!! Please Be My Friend We Can Work Together. I Know A Guy :c like usually final bosses are like weirdly emotional for me but she was just SO COOL and realizing like WAIT THIS BOSS OPERATES UNDER THE SAME RULES I DO was just like WOW even if as i kept dying (and i think i spent like... 3 hrs on the final boss alone lmao the first time, i killed her on my third attempt this run which was very cool of me) i finally realized that she IS pretty repetitive and got all her patterns n variables down super easy, but like, fighting another null who Should for all intents and purposes be just as absurd and powerful as i am, and eventually being able to down her effortlessly, and then the withdrawal affects of the chronos kicking in as well, and its just like. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

dont even get me STARTED on that ‘to be continued’ like yeah there’s a dlc comin but the game mentions repeatedly that its just the first act which has me like OKAY. but also i was listen 2 Full Confession bc it’s just. what the heart wants rn. i need to be sad and caffeinated in order to get into the Writing Zone rn and then i was THINKIN like my friend mentioned while we were playing the dragon tape that the song that plays is very similar to Full Confession (which i had sent him earlier while i was losing my mind over the final boss) and then i was like. Hm. these are very similar but have such wildly different moods -- Breath of the Serpent is much more like. ‘you’re going to be afraid of me’ while Full Confession is like ‘i’m afraid of you’ and i think that the different Vibes from these two soundtrack bits about important Null characters is just like. WOW and i wonder how a version of it that was purely Zero’s might be. would it be more triumphant? more flat? what desperation or emptiness is in there that could be drawn out by this melody??? i dont KNOW and i can’t write music unfortunately but im just like AAAAAAAAAA

i also rly wanna know what snow has going on ??? like. shes clearly important. she is a vital npc. but Why. she didnt even rly do anything except Show Up???

also the art for this game is just so GOOD,,, like. i didnt rly notice a lot of the backgrounds my first playthrough bc i was just losing my mind the whole time trying to solve each puzzle but the second playthrough im just like. AAAAA. and the soundtrack? effervescent. groundbreaking. perfect. So Good 

and the GAMEPLAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh my GOD i was SO vibing with it, the difficulty curve was kinda extreme imo but as soon as i started like. Getting It? and started looking at each room less like combat/fighting and more like a puzzle that needed to be solved it made it so much easier 2 get into the headphase of ‘okay how do i clear this’ and it was just like. YOOOOOOOO

and zero is just a lot of fun 2 play as. legitimately everything about him is just so ridiculous. his dialogue options? ridiculous. his design? absurd. the implications that hes like. 22 and just having the worst 10 days of his life? mood, buddy. this guy likes samurai movies and card games and mushroom pizza and has worn the same outfit every single day for who knows how long and hes also a war veteran, an emotionless serial killer and a drug addict. and hes 22 and 5′10. literally NOTHING about those traits make sense together but here he is, just Vibing.

So i’ve been looking around for footage of demo players looking at/attacking the purple rocks/crystals/eridium(?) we see around in the gameplay demos. I’m aware of the 2 in the beginning area, one in the area you reclaim with lorelei (the base with rhys’s hologram pad), and the one right before gigamind. trying to find more in case there’s more ~fancy shit~ inside them like the ones on Eden-6.

So far, rn, I have pictures of the e3 eden-6 Moze gameplay and the zane coop Joltzdude gameplay one (the one by gigamind). i'm trying to find a connection between all these things and literally all i’ve got is different colored (??) glowy purple rocks

if the tool is by a corporation or alien in origin, i don’t know for certain. i like to think it’s atlas because of the color scheme and the triangle shapes, but that might just be because i like atlas (also, anyone else realize it’s possible this may be the one melee weapon the devs said would be in the game? ... aw man...)

It could just be alien in origin though, i don’t know for certain. i could be missing inscriptions or smth since my monitor is bad tm. Given what we know about Eridian weapons though im inclined to say it isn’t... mostly bc the holoblades we see guardians use in bl1 are strictly blue/purplish and the weapons we see them use in tps are always solid (AFAIK).

mmm im also considering zer0′s sword tech as an option, like the whole bit where they’re like ‘monomolecular edge’ and are able to cut straight thru a maliwan wall/shield. that seems a bit too... quick?? like we go thru all this trouble for a single sword upgrade, give it to zer0, then we’re done with it all after gigamind?

like... from a writing perspective we probably could’ve just knocked down the wall to gigamind using a cyclone or explosives or whatever. walked in through the front entrance. i mean we’re Vault Hunters for crying out loud, death and destruction is almost literally our middle names. that’s practically chekov’s monomolecular edge upgrade.... you get the point. the tech could (and should) totally come back into play. 

And i mean we’re probably not actually using Zer0′s sword itself, since that’d be weird for zer0, but the idea that Rhys helps us use that new tech to build a gauntlet to break those rocks? yeah i could get behind that. we know we talk to rhys in person about a vault at one point and we know Zer0 is present when we do. and yeah it could’ve just been a set up to talk to/introduce katagawa, but i don’t see why they can’t do both at once.

and i am wondering if the stuff embedded in the crystals themselves is eridian tech? shards? or something. hear me out, like maybe the color (green, red) is based off planet origin, given eden-6 has the glowing green and promethea has the glowing red. or it could be elementally-based, given what we know about sirens/Vault Monsters. Mostly think they’re eridian because of the rocks/walls we’ve seen in ruins with glowing inscriptions in 1 and 2, and TPS w/ tycho’s ribs/eleseer and the sentinel and even the traveler in tales. Like the sentinel changes color based on element and the traveler changes colors when it goes to teleport.

the traveler. tho they’re more crystally than the others, maybe the traveler is more ancient? it seems more sentient, like... it laughs and emotes and stuff so maybe the older Vault Monsters were built off sentient beings (like the Warrior) while the ‘newer’ ones (the Sentinel) are mostly tech? idk, just spitballing here lol

it does lowkey make me wonder if Sirens are meant to be Vault Guardians and that’s why we’ve seen a disproportionate number of them throughout the games. i mean that’d tie into the theory that Siren powers and Vault Monster powers are intertwined, although the only example I have of this is Lilith and the Traveler so... the better theory is the Sirens and the Lost Legion Eternal are intertwined bc that actually makes sense...

anyway magic rocks. we see some of them in tycho’s ribs and a huge one we move thru in eleseer, but the way they vaporize on contact with the new melee weapon in bl3 makes me wonder if it actually is Eridium Eridium or some weird Eridium (not-Eridium?) that isn’t the kind we see on Pandora. Maybe it’s not activated or something, i don’t know. it’s clear somehow refined eridium is still relevant in bl3 despite hyperion not refining it anymore (and the absence of slag) since it’s literally everywhere whenever you kill an enemy, so take that as you will. 

also, it could simply be the tool we use making it vaporize and shit instead of it inherently being like that. tho i don’t understand the reasoning behind vaporizing this very precious material. but im mostly curious why eridium is now suddenly appearing across the planets/galaxy. open first vault on pandora, eridium appears on pandora. open second vault on pandora eridium appears... everywhere else? and we know it was present on elpis before the opening of the warrior vault on pandora, but if that is because of it’s connection to pandora or other reasons, like it’s vault being weird, im not sure. 

furthermore, there could be eridium on promethea because the first vault has been opened. damn you tales for making me uncertain if this was atlas’s doing or Typhon’s! and we see one of typhon’s logs on eden-6, though we’re not allowed to hear what it says yet in the demo, so it’s possible he’s also opened the Vault on eden-6. if it’s him doing the vault openings, anyway. im so curious what the difference is between pandora’s eridium and the purple crystals on the other planets. how come theirs sprouted with cool shit inside and ours didn’t? fuck that maaaaan.

overall, im just very curious as to what’s inside the crystals. there is 100% something there, we’re not breaking them into purple powder for nothing. Moze even says something like “im breaking you out!” when attacking the rock during the gameplay demo so... she must’ve been talking about whatever [the green thing] is inside. we neeeeed it and it’s apparently more important than raw eridium. which is a doozy considering it is (was?) a fairly precious commodity

it would be neat if we were going around collecting the distributed pieces and reassembling them to create a big boy Vault Defender to stop the twins. but i highly doubt it. hear me out. it’s gotta be something important right? so im betting it’s some kind of gear or upgrade for our characters. maybe even some lore. but nothing huge. my reasoning is that it doesn’t appear to be a main quest objective. if anything, it seems like a crew challenge. i thought maybe it could be tannis’s but i thought hers would be the eridian logs (then i realized this is just glorified ECHO logs, so prob not) , or the Typhon Deleon logs. but it’s possible she has more than one.

and imagine someone ignores all the purple crystals throughout their playthrough. i really doubt right before the last mission of the game, they’d be like alright kids, go back and break every single crystal with these glorified brass knuckles for fun times!! because that sounds miserable. odds are they’re introduced in some way, and we get the gauntlet, and then we gotta break a few for a quest or two, then the rest are optional for unique gear/skins or upgrades or lore or smth.

OK i have a few..the alola elite four ost is just AMAZING. its such an epic track and it really set the mood when i first played sumo!!! i really felt like i was..there battling them bc it made me nervous and cautious in a really nice way..!!!! i remember it very clearly bc after i beat the elite four for the first time i battled them many other times bc i just..really wanted to hear it again HJFV

another one from sumo is the team skull track!!!! it is SO exciting and it has a bunch of fancy sound effects and!!! im replaying sumo rn and i always look forward to skull grunt battles bc i get to hear their fancy theme HVJFvf my fave part is when u first start the battle bc in the beginning theres a cool sound effect thing..

ACTUALLY i have a bunch of hoenn ones… the oras opening soundtrack is so important to me..my first pokemon game was pokemon red but when i played it i was very little, and i was still figuring out how to play pokemon (i also didnt understand english very well so it was a bit hard to..actually be invested in the story). pokemon ruby was my second pkmn game n i was more UH. prepared ig? so hoenn is very very important to me!!! rse had this opening soundtrack and a fancy little animation and when i heard it remastered for the first time when i played oras i cried a LOT. HVJFvf

rse also has the littleroot town soundtrack and that has always sounded like home to me :“) i like treating npcs like actual ppl so from time to time id visit my hometown ingame so i could talk to professor birch n my mom n hearing the ost just..made me feel really warm and happy..

OH AND..another one from rse is!!!! the underwater soundtrack. i associate it with the time i was looking for the regi trio and that was one of the most important things to me bc regice used to be my #1 favorite pokemon and i had SO much fun doing all the stuff to catch the three of them!!! hearing it remastered when i was playing oras also made me cry a lot bc it brings very warm memories in general vdfhjvhf i think the remastered version actually fits the theme more? IDK BUT. theyre both so wonderful and i love them SO much.

IDK IF THIS COUNTS BC ITS NOT REALLY JUST ONE TRACK BUT..the battle themes r probably the most nostalgic soundtracks to me..theyre all a bit similar but i think my faves would be the rgby and the frlg battle themes!!! idr THAT much abt my first red playthrough but the battling ost is very clear to me bc battles were the easiest part to understand since i mostly did those instinctively!!! listening to it again brings me a lot of warm memories of catching my first pokemon!!! hjfhvf

ALSO UH. im SO sorry but take this last one..its the pokemon main theme and i was listening to it while writing this and i started crying really hard ITS. so important to me i love pokemon so much. i have..two versions of it that r very important to me!!! this is the orchestral version which makes me very sentimental in general and!!! this frlg version also includes the..gamefreak sound effect that the gameboy makes when u start the game and even that small thing wasnt actually part of the soundtrack id always hear it when i started my game and i associate it with very happy moments..vhfjvhf

for the longest time ice types were my favorite type so!!! i have a bunch of opinions abt them..i think my #1 fave would HAVE to be froslass tho!!!

i always have a froslass on my main team bc i just love her so much!!!! froslass is SO beautiful tbh.. her sprite makes her look like shes giggling a little and its super cute!!! im pretty sure her design is based on 雪女, who is a japanese youkai!!! im really glad nintendo can incorporate parts of japanese folklore into their games :D she is a dual typed pokemon and her two types are ice/ghost which is. one of the coolest combinations EVER. grass, ghost, ice, and fairy are my favorite types and im so so glad theres an ice/ghost pokemon!!!!! i really like the idea of grass/ghost (which is decidueyes typing combination!!) but ice/ghost is also such a fancy concept..shes one of the few pokemon who can only be female bc only female snorunts (her initial form!!) evolve to froslass!! it makes finding a snorunt really fun..
