Power of mindset Left picture - 88 kg Right picture - 68 kg ⠀ I started my weight loss journey alone. I didn’t tell anybody, I disappeared from social media, and keeping my secret was easy. ⠀ One day at the end of my first month, I confessed to one of my friends that I was trying to lose weight. She became very excited and decided to lose weight too. ⠀ We became accountability buddies. We shared photos of our meals, workouts, worries, and moments of happiness. ⠀ In the beginning, it was kind of cool, but in a week, she complained: ”It's so tedious! Does that mean that I shouldn't eat chips and drink alcohol for the rest of my life? How boring!” ⠀ And later that day, she had a great night with friends, sushi, and wine. She was happy and didn't regret it. Good for her! ⠀ But the next day she was very disappointed and angry with her body. She said: ""I gained 1 kg! Why?!"" I explained that soy sauce salt and alcohol did their trick with retained water. ⠀ In her mind, it wasn’t fair. She was impatient and was longing for fast results. One day she followed her diet and did exercises. The other day she ate chips at night. She couldn’t resist her old habits, and her weight fluctuated. ⠀ She told me that it's her nature, perhaps to disguise her annoyance. All she knew for sure: she always was and always will be around 80 kg. She said, ""I am beautiful the way I am.” And that was true. She is a very beautiful woman. ⠀ So she quit. And I left alone with my thought: I'm beautiful the way I am, but also I can change. ⠀ I reached my goal in four months. My friend didn't.
