Cyber stalker Laswell who meets you as a server in a fancy restaurant. The bill she pays without a blink of her eye is about a week's worth of your pay.
You're obviously attracted to her from the second she's seated, how your eyes follow the silver necklace she's wearing down between the open buttons of her silk collared shirt. How then your eyes flick to her hands, pupils dilating when you find her ring finger bare. It's like the general sitting across from Laswell doesn't even exist. She immediately likes that about you, how quickly and easily she's able to capture your full attention.
She watches your tongue behind your teeth move as you take her order, determined not to fuck it up. You were still new to this job, but the authoritative aura Laswell gave off had you at attention. Even her little smiles and nods when you confirmed her order felt like rewards. Like a dog being clicker trained.
Laswell tests you- she doesn't like pets who are obedient just because they can't think for themselves. She asks you to pick out a wine for her. You offer to have the sommelier come by, but she just shakes her head. You feel like a deer caught in headlights.
When you bring her the wine, a glass of '91 Penfold Grange, you can't help but watch her take a sip. Raptured at the sight of her rolling the taste in her mouth, lost in the idea of licking it off of her tongue. Laswell looks you right in your eyes when she thanks you, tells you that it was an excellent choice. She might as well have bent you over the table and fucked you right there, it made you melt. How could she make you feel so much with so little said?
(When you went to the back, her empty glass in hand, no one noticed when you licked at the stains on the rim where her mouth was. The wine tasted fucking fantastic.)
She left you a tip well over what was necessary. More than what the bill actually was, a number with one too many zeroes that made you gasp. She wrote out that it was a thank you for your service, and you shove the note in your pocket.
...Your heart sunk at the fact that she hadn't left her number though. Of course she wouldn't, a classy older woman such as herself? She probably only entertained you out of pity, because you were working and she was a professional.
You went home in a needy daze, her note burning in your pocket. You could still smell her perfume, the scent inoffensive but strong. If you fingered yourself with the note held in your other hand, Laswell's looping blue-ink cursive making you clench on your fingers every time you glanced at it, you didn't feel shame for it. Too busy lost in her pretty eyes, the thought of sitting naked in her lap, the idea of her voice praising and guiding you to orgasm.
...
What a pretty show, Laswell thought. Before she'd even gotten home, she'd had connections find everything about you. For such a smart person, you put much too much about yourself online. Not to mention, an open laptop on your desk, right across from your bed? You're lucky Laswell is looking out for you, remotely setting up security so no one else could see through that camera. Only she should see how your pretty thighs clench and jerk as you cum, only she should hear her name on your lips like that.
You were perfect for Laswell, exactly her type. Smart, pretty thing just waiting for someone to scoop them up, take care of them properly and teach them how to be a good pet.
#laswell x reader#noel.txt#part two where she finds your sw Twitter and becomes your biggest patron??#also ignore the wine choice i dont know fancy wines so i thought of the last one i had dlnsns its actually ass#cw stalking

ooh your askbox is open! I've been (mildly) considering somm school and wonder if you have an recommendations or advice? did you go somewhere local/in person or did you do online classes? did you have to purchase all of your own wines? this is basically a thinly veiled ask for you to give us a write up on what somm school is like. :)
SO! This is the third time I’ve tried to answer this, so let’s hope that tumblr doesn’t eat it once again. To start, I’m going to give a quick overview of wine education in North America/U.S., as that’s where I pursued mine.
There are two major certifying bodies for wine education in North America and they have two slightly different areas of focus, the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) and the Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS). Both of these are extremely rigorous and respected and those that have achieved the top levels and titles (Master of Wine for WSET and Master Sommelier for CMS) are renowned as experts in the field. In the world, only 416 people who have become Masters of Wine (MW), and only 279 people have been awarded as Master Sommeliers (MS).
WSET’s focus is a bit more academic, going deeper into wine theory and the science of production, whereas CMS is very deeply founded on the business of the sommelier and is broader but not quite as deep, but also adds a service component to the exam that WSET doesn’t feature. I don’t have much to say (yet) about WSET, only that I’m likely to pursue my WSET 3 and 4 in the coming years and think the two complement each other well. I will also say that, if you’re interested in wine but not in the art of the sommelier - a key distinction - then I tend to recommend WSET as it doesn’t have the service component.
That said, I’ll go into more depth on CMS, as that’s what I pursued. The Court has four levels of exam (i.e. Introductory, Certified, Advanced, Master) each with a huge jump in difficulty, and it is strictly a certifying body that does not provide classes. However, a number of years ago, one of the Master Somms became the Dean of Wine Studies at the Institute of Culinary Education - my alma mater - and together with several other Master Somms, they designed a ten-week preparatory class for the Certified exam. As far as I’m aware, this is unfortunately the only prep course affiliated with CMS, but if you happen to be in NYC, it’s really incredible. It’s taught by that MS, with a number of visiting lecturers and guest instructors who are also Master Sommeliers or are Advanced Sommeliers who are now candidates to take the Master Somm exam. It was Monday-Friday for those ten weeks, for four hours a day each day, which a frankly unreal amount of time to be personally instructed by wine professionals of that caliber! I was so fascinated. The days were split between two hours of lecture and two hours of tasting wines from the region we’d just covered and learning to describe, identify, and recall them - even blind. The cost of the wines we tasted was rolled into the overall cost of the course, but I bought a bunch of wine outside of it to practice with.
(Side note: I think blind tasting gets a bit of a bad reputation as a useless parlor trick, which it sometimes is, but it is extremely helpful in the wine business. If you have a table that says they love a big bold Napa cab but you don’t have a Napa cab, then you still know from your training of what that style tastes like and what, from your own wine list, that you might be able to recommend in its stead.)
Passing the prep course is hugely helpful in passing the Certified Exam, but is by no means a guarantee, and unfortunately two people in my prep class of ten did not pass the exam, despite doing well in the course. It’s just a really difficult exam and not their fault! It’s an all-day affair structured in three parts. You arrive at 8 am and go directly into blind tasting. There will be two white wines and two reds in front of you and you must methodically go through describing them by color, consistency, smell, taste, etc and building a case for the wine you ultimately say it is. From there, you move directly into the theory portion of the exam, which is 45 questions of multiple choice and short answer. (I was convinced I’d failed this section, as the questions were so tricky.) Once you turn in your theory portion, you’re given a time to return for the service portion, where the Master Somms have set up a room as a fake restaurant and you must act as their sommelier from start to finish: approaching the table with a welcoming demeanor, being knowledgable about the night’s specials and wine flights, being able to answer their questions about wine pairings with food, about cocktails, beer, spirits, all while making sure to move clockwise around the table, to pour 5 oz consistently without spilling, to use the correct glassware, to open a bottle of sparkling wine safely and silently, and so on. I’ve spent a lot of time in customer service and hospitality, so this was actually where I scored the highest. You must pass each section of the exam (Tasting, Theory, and Service) by at least 60% to pass the entirety of it, and unfortunately if you fail one, no matter how well you do on the others, is an immediate fail.
This isn’t to put you off! I just want to give a faithful description of the experience. Truly I had so much fun and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more about wine.
As I’m not currently working in a restaurant, I don’t qualify to take the next level of CMS (Advanced), so after my classes this fall in winemaking and viticulture, I’m going to transfer to WSET and pursue more wine education there. I chose CMS at first honestly because it was offered through my culinary school and because I have a long-time love and fascination with the art of restaurants and hospitality, despite not currently working in one, so I wanted to learn the art of sommelier service as well.
I hope that answered any questions!

The elderly couple stepped across the threshold, admiring the understated furnishings and fine silver. Their feet sank into thick plush carpet. The doors closed behind them and the pale woman who let them in said quietly
"He will be with you in a moment. Please, have a seat. Would you like a drink? Some wine perhaps?"
"Should we?" The woman asked, raising her fingers to her lips. "Is it....allowed? It won't...you know...cause an...issue?" She inquired hesitantly.
The pale woman smiled "No ma'am, it's perfectly fine"
"Well, I suppose..." She replied, turning her eyes to her husband.
"I suppose indeed! Live it up, I say!" He declared, grinning widely and looking, for the first time in months, genuinely happy.
His wife smiled and nodded. "OK then."
"I'll return in a moment. Please, have a seat!" She spread her hands, indicating a plush and comfortable looking love seat.
They sat, she, primly crossing her ankles, hands in her lap, feeling slightly nervous.
Her husband sat comfortably beside her, sinking into the cushions with a sigh, throwing an arm over her shoulder. "Don't worry darling. Everything will be just fine. I promise you!" He leaned forward and planted a noisy kiss on her soft cheek, just as he had always done. She smiled and sighed.
"I do hope so."
"Ah! Hello! And here you are!" Said a deep, heavily accented voice behind them.
Their host made his way around the loveseat, his feet barely seeming to touch the ground. Quite a feat in such a large man. He held two glasses of wine out to them.
"Only the finest for my guests! I don't know a thing about the stuff but it was very expensive and the sommelier simply raved about it! I do hope he was correct."
The old man leaned forward, grunting slightly, and accepted a glass, passing it carefully to his wife before accepting the other.
"Splendid!" Their host enthused.
He sat in the heavily upholstered chair across from them. It resembled a throne, carved from some ancient wood, rich and glowing with polish, the cloth deep red and shot with gold in strange patterns the eye could not discern.
He crossed his legs and clasped his knee, beaming at them.
"So, I know the story of course, and I'm so glad to be of service!"
The old woman's hand trembled slightly and she spilled a few drops of wine.
"Nervous? It's ok. I understand completely! But I promise it will be a simple and painless process. Let's not talk about that now. How was the drive?"
The old man snorted almost choking on his wine.
"Fine! It was fine. I'm sorry, this just....well it wasn't what we expected."
Their host raised his hands and smiled, flashing his very white teeth.
"I know, I know. It never is as expected." He chuckled, steepling his fingers in front of his mouth, his eyes shining over them, almost black in the soft lighting. "Please, do relax and enjoy. I insist!" He leaned forward uncrossing his legs and suddenly becoming serious. "There is one thing though, a small matter that we must attend too. My deepest apologies, but it has recently become...er...necessary."
He snapped his fingers twice, quickly and the pale woman reappeared holding a tray. She set it down before him. The tray held a neat stack of papers typed, and carefully aligned. The paper was thick and expensive looking. He looked steadily at his guests his voice suddenly grave and important.
"Due to recent, ehrm, events, we have found it necessary to insist upon a form of written consent. I won't go into detail but it is all quite legal. The lawyers insisted." He sighed, rolling his eyes.
"Elena is a notary and will observe the proceedings and add her seal and signature. She took the course online and passed easily!"
He beamed at the pale woman, she ducked her head shyly and smiled.
"Please do read over it carefully. If you have questions I can have Elena call the lawyer. It's really very detailed. Those lawyers certainly do enjoy, ahem, language and such."
The couple looked at each other in surprise. "Oh!" The woman said "I hadn't thought..."
Their host sighed, leaning back
"I know, I know. It really is bothersome but apparently these days consent does not come without a lot of very big words. I never thought I'd see the day, but you never can tell in this...ehrm....form of service."
He flashed a quick apologetic smile, those white teeth bright, the canines thin and sharp.
The couple put down their glasses, carefully reading through the document, the old man mouthing a word here and there in wonder.
"Accidental survival?" He whispered
"Potential permanent damage to skin, clothes and... hair?" The woman murmured quickly looking up and raising a hand to her head.
"Ahem...yes well, sometimes there is a brief moment of...ehrm...panic and were someone to unexpectedly pull away...well....hair might be...lost...should that person...perhaps then run screaming....well, it creates quite a scene, and I am forced to discontinue. Rare occurrence really... just the once..." his voice trailed off, and he looked quite uncomfortable.
The man picked up the fine gold pen next to the documents.
"I am here of my own free will. I do consent and intend to follow through!" And without reading further, he signed with a flourish.
"Wonderful!" Their host exclaimed.
The old woman smiled nervously glancing at her husband.
"And you?" Their host asked, extending a large hand. The woman noticed his fingernails, long, pointed and well manicured.
"Well, darling, as long as you are happy it's all I ever wished!" She took the pen from her husband and signed carefully.
Elena stepped forward with her own pen. A surprisingly ordinary ball point. She signed quickly and efficiently, embossing the thick paper with an official looking stamp, then she picked up the tray and disappeared.
Their host looked at the woman, "you'll get a copy." She nodded soberly.
"Well then!" He said cheerfully, his eyes sparkling, "shall we, kind sir?"
He stood fluidly, like a stretching cat, extending to his full intimidating height.
"We will go to the courtyard outside then. It's better there. A lovely night, I understand! Madam" he said, extending his hand towards the old woman who stood with her husband, her arm through his, protectively. She gave him her hand. He bent and barely brushed his lips across her knuckles "I ask that you stay here. This can be...unpleasant. I will return in a moment. Elena will put on some music or perhaps, the sound of the ocean? It's very soothing. I know this is difficult" his eyes were warm as he gazed into hers.
She felt calm and relaxed. "Yes. That would be lovely"
She turned to her husband and kissed him passionately, one last time. "I'll always love you."
"And I, you " he replied. Holding her close.
"Alright then, Mr Dracul....I'm ready."
"Oh, please! Call me Vlad! We are going to be getting very close indeed! Let's not stand on formalities! Bid adieu to this little life and all its inconveniences and illness.
Sincerely, I thank you both for this honor."
And with that he led the old man away, the cancer eating away at him soon to be discarded, the healthy remaining blood to serve it's purpose, with consent.

Meet our swamp district founders, Aaron + Willa!
Aaron Deedani "the sommelier":
When plots of land in this new place called Whisper became available, Aaron begrudgingly signed up. The soil in the swamp district would make a perfect starter for his own vineyard, and he is hoping to make it big online documenting what founding a new community is really like. He can't wait to make new things and do a bit of showing off to new friends and acquaintances.
Has expensive taste and hopes that translates through his fine nectar.
Can't stand being around others who have as big of an ego as him.
Loves posting to social media and posting to his nectar making channel.
Loves working with his hands and making things for his home from scratch.
Gifts are his love language and he loves spoiling the ones he loves with lavish presents.
Willa Elowsky "the tree hugger":
Of course Willa had to come help found Whisper, who else would speak for the trees? Wide open space has always been something Willa has appreciated, and a new community with a fresh start is right up her alley. She can't wait to find where the fertile soil is, laugh with new friends and overall make Whisper and the swamp district a better place.
A self-proclaimed hippie with a free spirit.
Has a great sense of humor, and loves nothing more than going to a comedy show or watching a comedy with her friends.
Loves spending time outside in her garden and making new breeds of plants.
A sweet soul who is easy to be around, as long as you don't mind a little mess here and there.
Can't stand sims that take themselves too seriously, and jumps to be physical with sims she cares about.

Wherever you are, I hope that you'll find me. Whenever it is, I hope we're meant to be. Oh, we've been searching for something so perfect. Just hold on, I know that you'll find me.
This past week at work has been really challenging, but I am so thankful for my amazing coworkers who make even the worst days not so bad.
Thursday morning I had to drop off my car at Volvo after work. Even though they typically don't do loaners for the 10k service, they let me have one so I could go home. I was so tired, as usual, and just wanted to sleep.
At home, I changed into yoga clothes, thinking I'd go to Fort Worth for my class but then decided I was too tired to go anywhere. Instead, I allowed myself to rest for the morning and then ran to Trader Joe's to get some groceries since I hadn't had food in my house in literally weeks. Unfortunately, it wasn't the most productive trip since I mainly bought dog treats and wine. I've been following this sommelier on Instagram and she does some really cool wine and Trader Joe's pairings. I tried to find one wine I liked before but TJ's was out of stock and another she suggested, they had the brand but not the same type. It was a pretty disappointing visit to TJ's.
I had a pretty lazy afternoon and then had to leave early for work to pick up my car before the dealership closed at 7pm. Since I didn't want to drive all the way home, I found a yoga class to go to near the airport. It was a yin class, which was super relaxing and the perfect way to start my evening. I was feeling pretty zen after that.
The yoga place was in a really cool area that I had never ventured out to before. Not only do I want to go to that yoga class again but I went online to look at apartments to see if maybe I'd like to move there instead of going back to my old town. Maybe something new and closer to the airport would be better for me?
That night I worked a trip to OKC, which was delayed until 12:30am on Friday morning. It was yet another long night with little sleep. I had a good crew, which made it a little better, but of course, still meant that Friday I would be exhausted.
Friday morning I napped before heading to yoga at noon. I will really miss Stephanie's class when I move. It is one of the only things that has helped me through this past year here. I had a relatively lazy afternoon and crawled into bed around 6pm to sleep until about 8pm so I'd be well rested.
Friday night was yet another delay. It has been the trend lately. Spring flying in DFW is always a nightmare. I did have a great crew though, which helped.
Saturday I was committed to yoga so I napped for maybe an hour before going to slow flow at 10:30am. I made a detour to Popshelf to get a few things and then picked up a Rebel from Dutch Bro's since I desperately needed it.
On my way home, I ended up grabbing a poké bowl for lunch since they were giving 20% off for Mother's Day.
I napped on my couch in the afternoon and had high hopes of going out and doing something until the weather started to get crappy and I chose to stay home and drink wine on my couch instead.
I ended up staying up late last night since I can never go to sleep early after working nights nearly every day. The storms were crazy all night. The thunder was so loud that my house literally shook. I read on Facebook that a house in the neighborhood behind mine got struck by lightning and I heard a ton of horns honking this morning and then lots of fire trucks and ambulances so it sounded like there was a car accident nearby.
I really wanted to go to church in Fort Worth this morning but the flooding was so bad that I decided to stay home and sleep in. Kirby woke me up early to go outside but I went back to bed right away. I didn't sleep well all night since I was having some seriously bad nightmares about my ex and his family.
I had every intention of calling out sick from work today but instead, my flight was canceled. No one called me all day to tell me until about an hour before sign in when my phone rang. I ignored it and they didn't leave a voicemail. I think they were trying to get me to work something else out of desperation but I was already sipping on an espresso martini so I was in for the night.
I started watching a new show called Expats tonight. I was enjoying it until one of the main characters jumped off of a boat and decided to swim under the boat and got stuck for a hot minute. My anxiety was so bad that I had to get up off my couch and walk away. I felt like I couldn't breathe. Between losing my car in the flood last year and losing Dan when he drowned in 2022, I've never been more afraid of water. That scene is what made me decide to make an espresso martini.
My friend Jackie sent me a video when she drove by the neighborhood I want to move to. It sucks that the move-ins have been delayed but it's looking really cute and I'm praying that works out if it's what's meant to be.
Tomorrow night I jump back into another busy week at work. Working a ton each week hasn't been that bad, aside from the delays. Once I see my paychecks after this, I might become addicted to working a ton. Add in a raise and some retro pay and maybe I'll actually be able to get my life back on track.
xoxo

Wine Investment Redefined: Uncorking the Potential
When it comes to investments, the usual suspects like stocks, real estate, and precious metals often steal the limelight. However, there's a hidden gem in the world of investments that's been gaining momentum and redefining the game - wine. Yes, you heard it right. Wine investment is not just for sommeliers and connoisseurs; it's a dynamic and lucrative avenue that's capturing the attention of savvy investors across the United States. In this article, we'll uncork the potential of Alternative Investment and explore why it's time to raise a glass to this unique opportunity.
A Toast to Tangible Assets
Imagine having an investment that not only appreciates over time but also allows you to indulge in a little luxury along the way. Wine investment is like having your cake and eating it too, or should I say, having your wine and drinking it too? Unlike stocks or bonds, which are mere pieces of paper or electronic entries, wine is a tangible asset. It's a living, breathing (or should I say fermenting?) entity that ages gracefully in a bottle, increasing in value as it matures.
Diversification, the Wine Way
Diversification is the cornerstone of any solid investment strategy. It's like a well-curated playlist that balances different genres to create a harmonious experience. Wine, with its myriad of varieties, regions, and vintages, offers a unique dimension to diversification. It's like having a symphony of investments, each note playing its part in creating a beautiful composition. Whether you prefer the bold crescendo of a Cabernet Sauvignon or the delicate nuances of a Chardonnay, there's a wine investment for every palate.
The Vintage Advantage
One of the most intriguing aspects of wine investment is the concept of vintages. Just as every year has its own story to tell, so does every vintage. It's akin to collecting rare books, each with its own narrative, transporting you to a different era. Certain years produce exceptional wines due to favorable weather conditions, skilled winemaking, or other unique factors. These sought-after vintages can appreciate significantly over time, making them prized possessions for investors.
The Pleasure of Patience
Investing in wine teaches us the art of patience, akin to nurturing a bonsai tree or waiting for a masterpiece to unfold on canvas. It's a slow dance between time and transformation, where the rewards are savored over the years. As wine ages, its flavors evolve, often becoming more complex and refined. This transformation mirrors the growth of your investment, culminating in a potentially lucrative return.
The Market Dynamics
Now, you might be wondering, "Is wine investment a niche market?" Far from it! The wine investment market is a dynamic arena, constantly evolving and adapting to global trends. In recent years, the United States has emerged as a formidable player in this space. The demand for fine wines, both domestically and internationally, has been on a steady rise. It's like discovering a hidden gem in your backyard that the world is clamoring to possess.
Accessibility in the Digital Age
Gone are the days when investing in fine wines required an extensive network or a private cellar. The digital age has democratized wine investment, making it accessible to a wider audience. Online platforms and specialized investment firms now facilitate the process, providing a seamless experience for both seasoned investors and those dipping their toes for the first time.
Uncorking the Risks
Of course, no investment venture is without its risks, and wine investment is no exception. The wine market, like the liquid within its bottles, can be subject to fluctuations. Factors such as changing consumer preferences, economic conditions, and global events can influence prices. However, with proper research, guidance, and a diversified portfolio, these risks can be mitigated.
Savoring the Experience
In the world of investments, wine stands out as a unique and delightful option. It offers not only financial potential but also the pleasure of savoring a timeless tradition. So, whether you're a seasoned investor looking to diversify or someone intrigued by the allure of wine, consider raising a glass to this redefined approach to investing. After all, as they say, "In wine, there's wisdom."
In conclusion, wine investment is not just an alternative; it's a revelation. It brings a touch of elegance and tradition to the world of finance, offering a truly unique investment experience. So, as you contemplate your investment portfolio, why not add a dash of sophistication with a bottle or two of fine wine? Cheers to new horizons and a fruitful journey in wine investment!

okay wait one more quick one because i really dont want to leave hardison hanging out here as a 100% cis alongside his parker-gendered parker and eliot his repressed crunchy granola dyke spouse. so. listen. he is a guy but specifically a man (lowercase), not a Man (uppercase) or even explicitly cis man. he is a child of the internet and also his Nana and he's gone through every iteration of queer online space there is & even started up a few himself. also for his entire adult life, he's seen these two beautiful people change and become themselves in these intricate and stunning and vulnerable ways. alec THINKS about his gender, and how it interacts with sexuality and presentation and class (which is a WHOLE issue he spends a lot of time circling on) and religion and USAmericanness and disability and of course of course his race and color. like. this shit. is. important. to. him. he also knows what other people see when they look at him; his grifts are so extra because it burns him something awful and sour expecting that if he played the art dealer/sommelier/etc without that exaggeration, then maybe they won't trust he's true. (like! there's a REASON he ALWAYS has a distinctly european accent when he plays these hoitytoity roles!) afk perception is something always on his mind, and his ID as a queer black man is his way of communicating how he navigates in his day to day. he is secure in his masculinity and his self and his body and the vision he has of the world he fights every day to make better. and when he's not secure, he's got communities and opportunities and resources and his partners to help him think through it. plus, you know his every WOW avatar is the woman one and so are many of his characters in other games or they are agender or genderfuck or the fuck else he can come up with and so he's living out here queerly and geekily and we love him for it.
