aether — leader of the group, also the only responsible one who knows media training. twins with lumine so they tend to collaborate a lot. another vocalist and helps childe with production. stylists also fight to work with him because they love to do his hair. models for brands on the side, imagine calvin klein photoshoots omg. trained in ballet and dance so he helps with choreo for the group. goes viral a lot because locals think he's a girl. i know he doesnt talk a lot in game but imagine he has the lowest voice out of everyone so its a crazy juxtaposition from his cute face, kinda like felix from skz if u know of him. shares clothes with lumine so they share outfits a lot, rocks a crop top. also plays games on live but unlike childe his fans will wait for him and let him win. kazuha — falls asleep while getting his hair and makeup done. sells weed to venti on the downlow, no clue who his dealer is. the most calm member out of all of them and disputes the silly fights everyone gets into. always looks like he isnt one hundred percent there during award shows. ‘kazuha zoning out for ten mins’ compilations. is not afraid to get drunk and gets super flirty and clingy when he does, goes live with xiao a lot and will drape himself over him when hes inebriated. super flirty during fancalls and fanmeets, takes fan service very seriously. will put the cat ears on during fan meets and let fans poke his dimples. delusion — the only other idol group underneath sakura entertainment at the moment. a four member male idol group known for their vaguely gothic and r&b dance pop. think of enhypen’s brand. have been a group for about four years, members range from 22-23. their initial fame was due to scaramouche debuting in the group, since his mother ei was in a popular idol duo in her younger years with yae. ei is now the ceo of the entertainment company that delusion and windblume are under. fans came to see if the son of such a popular idol could live up to their expectation. their debut album Wonderstruck got them to their popularity today.

Jihoon takes the water an assistant stage manager hands to him, and he lifts the straw to his lips. The water is cool and refreshing — much needed after singing the finale number of the encore.

“Fifteen ‘til the fanmeet,” the assistant relays to him. “You can head over to that area we showed you whenever you’re ready.”

He nods, then takes the cloth they’re holding out to wipe the sweat off his forehead.

It was his management team that decided on this whole “meet and greet” thing. Not that he doesn’t like his fans, he's just a little nervous to interact today, one on one, for longer than a few seconds while he’s signing an album or something.

Before Jihoon goes into the room the fan is in, he shoots off a text to Wonwoo, telling him where to go and what to say to get backstage.

He didn’t expect confetti. Or yelling. Or gasps.

But he at least expected the fan to look excited to meet him.

The fan smiles, but there’s something about it that seems… transactional? Jihoon thinks he must just be exhausted from the concert and tries to shake his inhibitions off. The fan reaches out his hand to shake, and Jihoon takes it.

“Hi,” the fan says. “I’m Chan.”

Jihoon forces out an awkward laugh. Maybe this fan is just as nervous as he is. “Hi, Chan. It’s really cool to meet you.”

Chan’s smile widens, and he looks down for a moment. “Yeah. I’ve been a fan since your first single.”

“No way, people actually listened to that?”

They share another laugh together before a silence settles. Chan breathes in, and he speaks as he meets Jihoon’s eyes. “I just have something I’ve been dying to ask you.”

Jihoon thinks of all the music-related questions people have asked of him online. “Sure, shoot.”

“What do you know about Orion’s father?”

Jihoon blinks. The name is only vaguely familiar to him — the constellation and how he’s some Greek archer, but the most recent time he’s heard it was from Wonwoo.

Chan continues when he receives no immediate answer. “You know…”

And then he says your name. A name which has set off anger within Jihoon for three years now, anger for a friend who suffered at your hand.

Jihoon’s expression turns somber. “I think you should leave.”

The staff members in the room, who had been politely standing to the side, perk to attention, concerned eyes trying to read Jihoon’s face.

“What did they ever do to you?” Chan asks further, ignoring Jihoon’s words. “To make you hate them so much?”

In turn, Jihoon ignores him. He moves towards the door and tells the staff, “We’re done here.”

When he walks out, Wonwoo is right there, but his eyes are pointed behind Jihoon.

“Chan?” he says.

“I knew it!” Chan exclaims, coming out into the hallway.

(Out of the corner of his eye, Jihoon spots his manager about to pop a blood vessel.)

“What is up with you three? And those guys from Geomsoft? Choi Seungcheol? Kim Mingyu?”

Just as Jihoon goes to say, “It’s none of your business,” Wonwoo steps closer to Chan.

“What do you know about Kim Mingyu?” he asks him, brows furrowed.

Chan rebuts, “Almost nothing aside from what google told me, which is why I’m asking you.”

“I know he used to be my friend.” Wonwoo’s voice wavers on that last word, and Jihoon puts a hand on his arm.

“Wonwoo—”

Chan leaves no room for interruption. “Was he MT’s friend too?”

“Why don’t you know?” Wonwoo spits. “Aren’t you their friend now? Why don’t you even know who the father is?”

“No one does! Soonyoung seems to know something since he knew about him—” Chan gestures at Jihoon but doesn’t look away from Wonwoo. “—but he’s been super cagey lately and—”

“Soonyoung knows?” Wonwoo cuts in with a deep frown.

Jihoon frowns, too. Other than Wonwoo, he was closest to Soonyoung in the group before everything happened, and he was really disappointed when his friend took your side of things. He’d blocked Soonyoung three years ago when he had tried to contact Jihoon and ask him to give you a chance.

But why did Soonyoung take your side? Jihoon never took him for a cheater apologist. Soonyoung is a little lightheaded sometimes, but he’s always been fiercely loyal. Back then, he was closer to you than Wonwoo, sure, but to defend you after what you did? Knowing the facts?

The facts that are a little fuzzy now…

Jihoon tunes back in to the conversation just when Chan says, “They’re right out there, you know? Waiting for me so they can go get Orion from ‘Uncle Gyu’ —”

Wonwoo turns right around and starts marching out of the backstage area towards the lobby. Jihoon doesn’t exactly try to stop him, but he does move to follow, as does Chan. His manager stops Jihoon with a hand on his arm, though. “I don’t know what the hell is going on right now, but at least try to lay low. Please.” They hand him a black lower-face mask before letting him go.

Thankfully, the only people left in the lobby seem to be a group of older women, who spot Jihoon and respectfully keep their distance, whispering to each other, and the group of people in the opposite corner that includes you.

You’ve already spotted Wonwoo and Chan, your mouth gaped open.

Before you can say anything, Wonwoo stops right in front of you.

“Just tell me the truth,” he starts. “Even if it hurts, I— I don’t care that— fuck, I do care that you cheated on me, but…”

Jihoon watches you glance in panic to your group of friends, and how you grimace at the shock on their faces. Wonwoo doesn’t even seem to notice, but Jihoon doesn’t attempt to step in to stop him.

“…I’m just so scared that you cheated on me with him, because—”

“Wonwoo,” you say gently.

“—if it was him then maybe I’ll finally be angry enough to let you go because—”

“Wonwoo,” you speak a little louder.

“—I need to finally let you go or else I’ll just keep loving someone who hurt me so badly—”

“Wonwoo!”

He freezes, almost panting at his explosion of emotion, and you put your hands on his arms. He looks down at your touch, and sighs out.

Jihoon’s brow furrows.

“I never cheated on you.”

The words come out so quietly, but everyone hears it. Wonwoo’s breath hitches, and his eyes meet yours, frantically searching them for any hint of a lie.

But Jihoon moves closer, putting a hand on Wonwoo’s shoulder and pulling him back so he can slip himself between you and his friend. His protective positioning doesn’t go unnoticed by you, and you just step back, complacent.

“What the fuck do you mean, you never cheated?” Jihoon growls.

You meet his eyes, then shift over to Wonwoo, then look around at your friends. “Oh, god.” You run your hand over your face. “I’m going to get in so much trouble with Jeonghan for this.”

Moving your hands in front of you, you gesture everyone to gather up closer. “Okay, this is kind of a long story…”

There were always toxic fans. You knew that, and Kayn of course knew his fanbase were sometimes as batshit insane as him. But the past few weeks were great! Social media was abuzz with positive comments about you two, fans congratulated you at fanmeets praising how cute you looked with Kayn.

Everything pointed towards how the fanbase took the official announcement of you two dating well but of course, you know delusional, parasocial fans existed too.

What you don’t know, was how they got past security.

You don’t know how they sneaked past all the checks and stage tests.

Maybe it was on you, maybe you were training too hard and were too tired to notice.

Maybe the high of performing live on stage and all the bits and bops of things to do left it so you didn’t notice the creak of the bright lights above you. The lights in the same pink purple hues of Kayn’s hair. The last thing you remember was the crackle of lights, the screams of your fans, and all your band mates in a blur dashing towards you.

It was arguably just as bad for Kayn.

Sure he wasn’t there, he wasn’t injured, he wasn’t the target of the attack nor was he the one in the hospital but there was nothing worse than hearing that you were still out cold, uncertain of how hurt you actually were.

There was nothing worse really, seeing the clips circulating online of what happened being reposted by all sorts of accounts. The blood that flowed from you onto the stage, oh god he didn’t even know humans could bleed this much.

There was nothing worse than knowing that he was stuck on tour and couldn’t be by your side.

There was nothing worse than not being able to call you and check on you because according to Akali you were STILL in the ER right now, you’re still unconscious and the doctors have no updates. How! It has been at least 4 hours since your opening act. Since the incident.

There was nothing worse, than fighting with his bandmates and managers, begging to go back to be by your side, and only after Alune stood up for him saying how “ The Heartbeats would understand why Kayn was missing. Let him go or he would just sneak off at night and do it anyway.” That management allowed them to postpone their weekend show so he could book a midnight flight to you.

There was nothing worse, than sitting alone in the private airport lounge, checking socials for updates and finding out HIS fan was the one that was caught on CCTV being the perpetrator, the one that did this to you, the love of his life. They even wore a jacket with Rhaast’s icon sewn onto the back, almost mocking him. Sure you were the one physically hurt, but the way his emotions were all over the place, the way his heart refused to calm down, the way he haven’t felt so much like throwing up since he left his old band. He hated this.

Hands tightening around his already cracked phone, the only reason he hasn’t angrily thrown it against the wall was because Akali messaged him telling Kayn how you were stable now, you lived fine, you were still sleeping but you were out of surgery at least. He swallows hard, quickly picking up his small luggage as he runs over to the gate to board his plane. Kayn breathes heavy, only thoughts about being by your side when you wake up keep him walking and keep the absolute rage and chaos Rhaast has at bay. The flight couldn’t be any longer to him.

He ran, the second the Taxi dropped him off at the hospital he phased through walls and booked it straight up to your room, leaving Akali to sigh as she signs him in. The way his hands shook as he slowly opened the door to your ward. Feeling like it was somehow rude to phase through this one way although one, you were still unconscious and two he already violated the privacy of half the hospital.

“ My little demon…This is all my fault.”

Kayn slowly walked to your side after he steps in, watching and noting how you had your eye patched up, how bandages trailed down your body, how pale your skin was. He was going to throw up again, seeing you this way. Ahri who was in the room watching over you let him know you could still see of course, and nothing plastic surgery can’t fix about the scars. You would be fine after a week or two of rest. The shards of glass from the strobe lights missed all the important bits, only scratching up your brow, cheek and collar. Ahri offers Kayn a small sad smile before leaving to give him time with you. The other girls in K/DA has some cuts and bruises saving your from the falling light but otherwise were fine.

It was another hour of your steady breathing and the beeping of machines around him. To Kayn, it felt like hours. Inconsolable hours where his thoughts went wild. Rhaast kept at bay from trashing the place solely from how weak and shaky your breathing was. So when the beeping finally started to pick up Kayn was standing up, hand holding yours, calling out to you frantic and concerned as you slowly blinked and opened your eyes.

“ Oh my god you’re finally awake baby.”

You watched your boyfriend cry, silent tears falling as he spoke over and over about how he should have curated his audience more, warned them to not pull shit like this to you. Anger about how could his “obsessive fans” not know that hurting you would hurt him just as much. Frustration about not being in the audience this time to save you. Sorrow about seeing how much pain you were in right now because of him. Anger once again from Rhaast this time about how incompetent your security was for letting a mistake like this go unnoticed and finally…overwhelming relief that you were ultimately ok. It was new, seeing him so scared, so worried, no doubt all of these emotions were because of just how much Kayn loved you but still, you felt bad making him worry so much. Finally he updates you, telling you about what happened, how you would be ok, he would make sure of it.

“ I…I’m sorry you had to go through this because of me. If you want to leave me because of my fans I will totally understand.”

You watched his voice crack as his hand grasps yours tighter. Your lover’s brows furrowed as he thinks hard. Biting his lip so hard you could almost see it bleed.

“ No Kayn! I would never! It’s not your fault. None of it was your fault, my own crazy fans could have done this to me too y’know. Plus if I breakup with you, they totally won.”

You reply, throat a little dry from not speaking so long but you had to tell him. No way you’re letting some insane fan ruin your performance, your day and your relationship. You watch him finally smile a little as you speak, the corners of his lips barely curving, tears stopping at your frantic attempts to make sure he knows just how much you love him back. No way in hell or heaven would you give up what you have with him because of some lunatic. Especially after seeing just how much he loved you, flying here for you? Putting his work behind for You? How could you let this man go.

“ Hey, at least we can get matching eyepatches now?”

At your comment, he lets out an exasperated laugh.

" I’m sorry, I should be the one making you feel better not the other way around. Here.”

You watch as Kayn slips a finger under his eyepatch, pulling it off carefully before bending down to give your bandaged side a small kiss. Hands uncharacteristically gentle as they worked their way around your hair and all the gauze to put his eyepatch on you. Giving you another quick kiss on your lips before pulling away.

" Only because you style me so well!"

Yeah, it will be ok, the two of you were motivated, hardworking idols, a setback like this meant nothing. As he smiles again at you, the signature cheeky, prideful smile you’ve come to love from him. Your heart flutters. Yeah, something like this won’t stop you from loving him.

Authors note: My first I.N fic and I was absolutely terrified while making it because I didn't want to portray him wrong. However if he does seem a little oc, I apologize in advance and I'll get better🫡 I also want to warn that I've never been to a fanmeet before so I'm just sort of going off of what I've been told and what I've seen online.

A fanmeet. That's what this was called apparently. Your friend had been talking about it for months now. She had won two tickets in a raffle but none of her other friends agreed to go, you were the only one who said yes.

You adored your friend, she had been there for you many times when you needed her, and had helped pick you help when you hit rock bottom.

The least you could do is go to a fanmeet with her for one of those hundreds of kpop groups she adored. There was no doubt nothing could go wrong with this. Right….?

You knew the name of the group and the name of the members from the thousands of times she had told you. Driving it into your head so you wouldn't forget when you had conversations about them.

The members were attractive, and as far as you knew they had some pretty good songs. Nothing that truly caught your eye. You were more of a kpop pirate-group kinda gal. That's right. You knew kpop. Very few, but you knew a few groups. Ateez was top of your list though. 

The line wasn't going very long so the waiting was boring, but seeing the smile on your friends face was making it worth it. She had never been this happy about anything before, as far as you had seen.

You had gotten so wrapped up in your thoughts that you didn't realize it was your duos turn. The squeal-like noise your friend let out almost made you crack up from how out of place it sounded.

Watching her walk on up to the first member, he had faded salmon-y pink hair and beautiful sharp cat-like eyes. She spoke about this one often. What was his name? Oh right. Hyunjin.

You didn't think meeting with each member would go so quickly but before you knew it you were sitting down in front of the last one, the youngest one. His name was Jeongin, but everyone called him I.N 

Out of all the members she had spoken about over the years, he was your favorite. It wasn't just about his looks though. He was very talented and at such a young age he became part of one of the biggest kpop boy groups.

His voice when he spoke was so different from his singing voice. When he sang, he sounded like a siren pulling you in slowly to take you away to the depths of the ocean. When he spoke, he made you want to reach out and squish his cheeks.

This boy was absolutely adorable. From his fluffy dark hair, to his smile that reminded you of a precious angel who left earth too soon, to his biceps that were sprinkled with body glitter, then to his- wait. Biceps.

You hadn't realized before in his photos or videos, but boy was he packing some muscle. Eyes lingering on his arms for a moment too long, his voice pulling you from your trance.

“ hiii, whats your name? ”

Looking up to him, mouth slightly open for a moment before speaking up and answering his question.

“ that's a beautiful name. have you got anything for me to sign? ”

Nodding slowly you passed him the album and hoodie you had bought just earlier at a table selling merch. Watching him right out his signature.

“ you're beautiful. ”, the words tumbled out of your mouth too quickly, you hadn't realized what you were saying until you had said it. A hot blaze of blush settling across your cheeks.

“ oh really? ”, a smirk adoring his lips as he asked you. Watching you nod slowly before he leant closer to you.

“ you're very beautiful as well. ”, a wink. Something that caused you an internal panic attack because he was just so close to you. If you had leaned forward, you were sure your lips would touch his. Staring into his eyes nervously.

Letting out an almost shaky breath of relief when he finally pulled back and passed you your things. Giving you another bright smile and a small hug as he said bye.

“ it was very nice to meet you, princess. ”, nodding shyly, you stood from your seat and walked on over to your friend rather quickly. Your heart was beating fast and you could swear you felt his eyes still on your body as you walked away.

When you both had made your way to a sort of rest stop area, you heard a loud voice booming in the room you had just left. The voice was mentioning something about the group taking a short break before they'd be back.

You were waiting outside the bathroom waiting for your friend, telling a security guard that you were waiting on someone when he tried to lead you away with a group of other fans. Not understanding why he was doing so until you saw the idols pass by to go to the rest room as well.

All but one. One of the idols wasn't following the rest of the group into the bathroom. The youngest. Stood in front of you staring you down. That damn smirk on his lips again as he stared deep into your eyes.

Within just seconds you were pressed up against the locked door of the bathroom your best friend was in. A gasp escaping your lips as you stared up at him. How had you gotten yourself into a position like this?

At first you thought maybe you had accidentally fainted. When you felt his lips pressed against yours though, you knew you were awake and well.

Well? You wouldn't quite call it that anymore because when his tongue prodded against your lips, your heart almost stopped.

Arms coming up to wrap around his neck, you pressed closer to him. Your lips molding together just right, almost as if you were made for him. He tasted faintly like coconut or maybe vanilla lip balm and smelled of….matcha?

That's right. You had seen him drinking a matcha latte before the fanmeet had officially started. He had good taste in drinks. Matcha lattes were a classic.

Letting out a soft gasp into the kiss when you felt his knee slot between your legs. Feeling his bulge press gently against your thigh. Unable to resist the urge and grinding in sync with him slowly.

Breathing slightly labored from the intense feeling and his lips constantly pressed against yours. You could get used to this forever. You knew you wouldn't be able to though, so you held onto it for now. 

When your friend suddenly unlocked the door your “attacker” pulled from you. Slipping something into your hand and winking at you before he finally entered the bathroom his friends had went into. Leaving you feeling fuzzy inside. Your lips slightly swollen from the kiss-attack. 

Slipping the paper into your pocket and giving your friend a smile as she walked out. Following her along to the exit of the building. Glancing back at the hall where you had just made out with the idol.

Once in the car, you made sure your friend was unable to see what you were doing because you knew it would be all over if she saw the note. Reading over it with a blush fanning back over your cheeks and all the way up to your ears.

    “ xxx-xxx-xxx ♡

      I'll be waiting for your call tonight.

> JEWELRY FROM STAY . these are some of the bracelets and necklaces she got from stays during tours or fanmeets. she carries them every with her to remind her the love stay has shown her since day one.

“this is some jewelry that I got from stays. this heart necklace I got from the district 9 tour, and these two other ones are from a fanmeet.. I can’t remember which one. I really cherish these bracelets, so I never wear them.”

> GUM AND GUMMY CANDIES . she always has to have something to stimulate her, so she usually takes out some gummies or a piece of gum. she loves the minty taste of the game and the different assorted flavors in the bag of candy.

“this is just like.. normal for most people to keep in their bag. it’s gummies and gum. I keep it with me when I’m working or stuff like that, it kind of helps. or when I’m just craving some candy I’ll have some in my bag.”

> CLAW CLIP AND HAIR TIES . she always keeps these with her to keep her hair up tidy or to put it when when it seems necessary.

“sometimes I have to put my hair up in situations where I’m cleaning or when I just don’t want my hair to be out, I keep my claw clip and hair ties with me. they’re comfortable and convenient.”

> REGULAR FOR SHOW GLASSES . this is just to look fashionable, she thinks glasses look great on her. obviously not needing to buy prescriptions, she’ll get cheap glasses frames and lens to look cute in.

“these glasses are just to look cute in. there’s really nothing else to it.. they’re not prescription, I bought these frame and lens on an online store as well.”

“I got this from another friend.. in ateez. it’s weird but I keep it in here for no reason, honestly just because it reminds me of ateez and how odd they are.”

> PINK HAIR BRUSH . before getting this she was going to get a dark blue brush, but while shopping she changed her mind as she already had enough dark items at home.

“I brush my hair a lot out of habit in public, so I usually keep this with me. I don’t mind the length of my hair, short or long, I still need to brush it.. sadly.”

> MATCHING RINGS . this is in a small jewelry bag with her bracelets, her brother got her matching rings with him. he actually has the larger ring while she has the smaller ring.

“this is a matching ring with my brother.. he got it for me a while back. just because we can’t see each other a lot, it reminds me of him.”

“this is a photo of my members, it’s my favorite picture. I can’t go anywhere without this. this isn’t a necessity per say, I just like to look at this picture when I’m far away from the boys. makes me really happy to know I’m with the group that I’ve known for so long.”
