My brain immediately went to a bunch of Chinese artists, and while some of them are big in China, they’re still pretty underrated in the west asjakfl.

I do have a list documenting names and links here:

But I admittedly haven't updated this list in like a year because it's much harder for me to track music than it is for me to track donghua/manhua or danmei/baihe manhua or cdramas. Both because songs are completely aural and because way more songs get released everyday than shows/manhua. Plus Chinese music can sometimes be on even more region-locked platforms (QQ Music, Netease, etc) than some other Chinese media. 😅

Which does kind of suck since there’s new bands and artists I've discovered since last year that I may enjoy, but I might forget the names of because I didn't write them down!! That's actually part of why I loop songs a lot on YouTube—it forces the algorithm to re-recommend them to me and recommend me related songs.

So on that front, here's some of the ones I randomly stumbled across in the past couple weeks and which I've been looping a lot lately, most of which seem pretty underrated (like I definitely doubt most of these are on Spotify—but then again I wouldn't know because I don't actually use Spotify asjakfl):

*Note: if these songs share a pattern, it’s that most of them are quite bouncy—even when they may have depressing lyrics! This is because I’ve been looping energetic songs lately to get myself through the day. I also know of a lot of slower, indie Chinese music or gufeng (ancient-style) music that’s similarly slower, and those are absolutely lovely too, but they seem to get more attention than these faster-paced songs. And sometimes upbeat Chinese songs are harder to find for me, so I think they deserve love too!

^ Me with the above songs: Who are these by? Where did they come from? Sometimes I have no idea! I just listen to and watch so many Chinese media things on YouTube it basically forces my YouTube to recommend me the most random things JSKFJAKDJS.

Bonuses because I love these songs and the vomic/manhua/audio drama they come from (in fact, I would recommend many Chinese media songs! Whether they’re from audio dramas, donghua, or vomics, there’s some really lovely ones out there):

From the vomic adaptation of the manhua, Kiss the Abyss (which used to be available officially on the English Bilibili manhua app, but now that that's shut down, you can find the manhua unofficially here)! The vomic goes by the name 《我的怪物》 on MaoEr FM. It has another name that's 《亲吻深渊》, which is closer to the English title, but 《我的怪物》 seems to be more commonly used now!

From the audio drama adaptation of I Became a God in a Horror Game (《我在无限游戏里封神》) on MaoEr FM! As for the novel, you can find more information here.

From the 《秉性下等》 (Bing Xing Xia Deng) audio drama on MaoEr FM! Official English name is The Selfish Gene, but the novel it adapts is commonly translated by fans as Inferior by Nature. The title The Selfish Gene is used by fans as a title for a different book by the same author.

But as for some of my own personal favourite overall artists/bands who I do think are underrated, at least internationally:

- ONER (they make music individually too! The members are Yueyue, Ling Chao, and Mu Ziyang) (My personal favourite song from them is actually "Attack," but the version I like comes from when they had four members. They later rereleased it with the lines by the fourth member—who left the group—redone, but I still prefer the old version, so that's why I'm linking two songs by them haha) (Another reason I like them is because although other cpop groups that started around their time may have stopped being as active, these guys still keep releasing music no matter how long the gap is in between songs. Some of it just comes out pretty quietly, and I get pleasantly surprised when I search them up on YouTube again and find another new song by them. It actually happened again while writing this post: this song is from, as of the time of me writing this, from just 5 days ago! Plus, they release a new funky, playful song for almost every Chinese New Year, such as this one for the Year of the Dragon!)

- CORSAK (a few of his songs have blown up—specifically one of them called "Reverse" which also got featured on an idol competition show, but I also enjoy a lot of his other songs that don't get as much attention!)

- 小鬼 (Li’l Ghost) (originally part of the boy band that formed after Idol Producer, he now does his own stuff that I guess is mostly like...rap and punk? I like a lot of his stuff and two of his songs, "Don't Call Me Da Vinci" and "Good Night" also technically went decently viral, but he could still use more attention overall!)

- Mao Buyi, Zhou Shen, Li Ronghao, and other such individual artists that I already featured on my list (all actually really famous tbh, but I'm adding them here because well...again, they could still get more love internationally. Plus Mao Buyi's songs are great if you want to feel soft or emo; Zhou Shen sounds like an angel; and Li Ronghao I always feel a soft spot for due to where he comes from lol)

- Ice Paper (another one where one of their songs tripped into the international conscious of a few folks, so not super unknown, but still!)

- Tangram (an example of an obscure cpop group—and one of the ones that are sadly no longer active)

- ChicChili (I liked the couple songs they released and I’m sad they don’t seem to be a thing anymore :c )

- 福禄寿FloruitShow (their songs are quite lovely! But also this is what I mean by if I don't keep track of something, it's easy for me to forget them, because I totally forgot this band's name and was trying soooo hard to remember for the past week (I kept thinking of the Chinese make-up brand Florasis instead)!! Thankfully, compiling this post helped me remember, because one of the translation channels that have shared a bunch of their songs also did a translation for Mao Buyi, and I recognized the channel as soon as I saw it)

- 白鲨JAWS (not like...super obscure since they have made songs for the donghua Link Click, which led to them making more songs for other donghua, such as here, and for Chinese animation in general, and they've gotten to the point they can host international shows, but I still think some of their other songs besides the ones for Link Click could totally use more love!)

- MANTA (virtual boy group; you may know of them if you use the popular Chinese audio drama app, MaoEr FM! More info here, and someone also has a MANTA and LASER playlist here)

- LASER (virtual boy group; you may know of them if you use the popular Chinese audio drama app, MaoEr FM! More info here, and someone also has a MANTA and LASER playlist here)

- Kaleido (virtual boy group from the danmei novel Fanservice Paradox)

- 188男团 (from what I can tell, they have two songs... The other one is here. Funnily enough, one song is by the gongs of the series, and the other is by the shous) (I'm including this one primarily because of my brain rot over them right now; they’re made up of characters from the 188男团 danmei novels series, which is known for dog blood (angst) and crematorium wife-chasing 😆) (Bonus: like some popular stories—say, Erha, for example—these guys also have some fan songs, and I'd like to link one cute one that showcases a bunch of the novels in the series and their ships!)

- VSingers (Chinese Vocaloids; more underrated/unknown in comparison to their Japanese counterparts, at least!)

And many more…! Especially since many of the ones I've chosen to showcase actually have some presence in English-speaking fandoms, no matter how minuscule… The reason I did that is because I think it makes them more accessible. Like it'd be much easier to search for songs of or information on the VSingers, such as Luo Tianyi, especially on the Western side of the Internet (so if you want to look for these guys on YouTube or Spotify, sometimes you can!)—whereas the random songs I linked in the beginning of this post are the ones that are like. So obscure that sometimes even I struggle to know who they are if I don't do proper research HMGKSHDSJ.

Title: By Your Side Pairing: Reader x Ziyang Genre: Werewolf!AU + fluff Word Count: 2,774 words Summary: Walking in the dark is always scary, but at least you had your new canine friend to be with you every step of the way.

A/N: Fourth installment of Fantasy Fest, which ranked third in the poll. I struggled a bit on deciding who to choose for this particular fic, but I finally settle on Werewolf!Ziyang thanks to some lovely followers! Ziyang is my bias wrecker in Oner (can you guess my actual bias) despite him being so underrated. So, this one goes out to you Ziyang!

let’s start, shall we?

you lived in a relatively small village where everyone seemed to know each other

businesses thrived, everyone was healthy and children ran around freely 

the crime rate was also relatively low, especially since everyone seemed to always be looking out for each other and helping one another

for example you were well acquainted with the butcher’s daughter, the seamstress’ son, the woman who ran the local inn, etc

you felt lucky to call this safe haven of yours your home

so where did you fit in this picturesque image?

you were the village herbalist

at your cozy cottage located near the outskirts of the village, you planted and harvested medicinal plants, roots and herbs 

your services often worked hand in hand with the village’s apothecary ran by a close friend of yours

hint hint nudge nudge wink wink

speaking of apothecary, you were headed there now after your friend had requested you via letter

entering the dainty shop, you saw your friend whispering angrily to an unknown presence behind them that you couldn’t see. when they noticed your presence, they coughed in surprise before awkwardly hurrying to the front counter to greet you

“hi (y/n)! glad to see you again”

“it’s good to see you, too. it’s been a while. is everything alright? you seem a bit flustered” you asked in concern

“ah no, i’m fine. don’t worry about it. some... things can be very annoying”

as if some presence was offended by their words, a jar unceremoniously was knocked off of the counter on its own. if it weren’t for your fast reflexes, it would have shattered on the floor

as you placed the jar back on the counter, you missed the way your friend’s eye twitched in annoyance 

“sorry i’m really clumsy today” 

you saw with your own eyes that they hadn’t even touched the jar, but you chose not to question it since you understood that they were secretive about certain things and you didn’t want to pry

“it’s okay. did you need something? you didn’t specify in the letter”

“oh, that’s right! i was wondering if you had any moonflower petals?”

thinking back to your garden at home, you couldn’t recall growing the said plant mainly because they were so delicate and hard to maintain, even for an experienced herbalist like yourself

“sorry, i don’t believe i have any” you apologized sadly

your friend looked disheartened, “i was afraid you’d say that. i desperately need some to make a cure for goblin cough”

like a switch going off in your head, you remembered that moonflowers were in season and if you were lucky, you’d be able to find some in the surrounding woods of the village

“i can go try and find some in the woods for you. i know exactly where they tend to grow and i’m probably the only one who knows how to harvest them correctly” you offered

“will you be okay? the woods can be very dangerous if you’re out there on your own” they questioned in concern

“i’ll be fine. you know how strong i can be. i’ll try not to wander too far in and i’ll bring my dagger with me for protection just in case”

although they seemed reluctant, they agreed to your offer. you knew they seemed to be in a hurry, so you made quick note of heading out to the woods tonight since that’s when it was easiest to find the flowers

when night fell, you set out to the woods with your trusty woven basket linked on your left arm and a lit lantern in your right hand

hearing the crunch of leaves and sticks under your boots, you used the light of your lantern to scour the area

moonflowers were a special species of flowers; they grew only during the night. like the moon it was named for, the petals were uniquely shaped into crescent moons. the flower also emitted a soft white glow that resembled moonlight

as you walked deeper into the woods, you heard the howl of an unknown creature in the distance that sent shivers down your spine

you were well aware of the numerous creatures that lurked in the forest at night so you were determined to make quick work and gtfo of there

in the corner of your eyes, you spotted that soft white glow you were anticipating for

walking past a few more trees, a huge smile grew on your face when you saw an entire patch of moonflowers growing under a cedar tree

as you carefully plucked the previous flowers and placed them into your basket, you heard a loud crunch behind you

you froze 

you then heard the low grumble of a growl permeate through the air

fuck 

slowly turning around, you dropped your basket and a squeak left your lips as you saw a massive wolf standing right in front of you

it was easily almost twice your size. its mouth was opened slightly, revealing sharp rows of teeth within. despite how dark it was out, you could still make out the wolf’s golden irises staring straight at you

falling on your butt, your body was wracked with tremors as you cowered in fear. your mind went blank and you completely forgot about the dagger that was hidden in your boot

the wolf took a few steps closer to you and you knew you were done for

clenching your eyes, you began to cry as you braced yourself for your impending death

imagine your surprise when instead of an agonizingly painful chomp, you felt a large smooth tongue lap away at your tears on your cheeks

even in your fear-induced state, giggles bubbled out of your mouth at the ticklish sensation 

at the pleasant sound of your voice, the large canine happily increased in its ministrations and licked at your face more enthusiastically  

“well you aren’t very scary after all, huh?” you mused as you scratched its neck. “you’re just one big cuddly puppy, aren’t you?”

the wolf playfully loomed over your form and nipped at your fingers as if indicating to you that it was far from being a puppy

you chuckled, wiping away the slobber off of your face “sorry, i know you’re a big boy... or girl?”

the animal growled lowly in protest as you mentioned ‘girl’ to it

“okay, boy for sure. you scared me half to death!” you scolded in which the canine licked your cheek once again in apology

as you ran your hands through its thick fur, you admired how silky smooth his fur was as well as its pretty shade of ash blonde 

“are you out here on your own?” you asked it

he shook his head

“that’s a relief to hear. you have someone to keep you company,” you said wistfully more so to yourself then to him

for as long as you remembered you lived alone, so you imagined what it was like to live with several others

you felt him nudge his muzzle into your neck in a comforting manner, making you smile softly

“well i have to head back home now. it’s not safe for me to be out this late and i’ve already gotten what i needed”

standing up, you picked up your fallen basket filled with your bundle of moonflowers

relighting your lantern with a spare match, you smiled at the wolf in goodbye and walked away to head back home

a few minutes in of walking, you heard rustling and you looked to see your new wolf friend trailing behind you

you tilted your head in confusion, “did you need something?”

he only walked towards you and nudged you forward, urging you to continue on your path. confused, you went back to walking but this time with him walking right beside you. then you understood what we was doing.

“ah, keeping me company and making sure i get out safe? thank you.”

you scratched behind his ears in gratitude, holding back a laugh as he struggled to keep his eyes open as you did so

when you saw the edge of the forest approaching, he halted to a stop, making sure he was well hidden in the shadows

“i’ll make sure to visit you again” you promised him, crouching down to his level. “in the meantime, what shall i call you?”

you were caught off guard by a masculine voice echoing in the back of your head

“ziyang” you repeated the voice in a whisper

the wolf barked in response, seemingly pleased that you referred to him by his real name

but how the hell did you know that? 

you didn’t have any time to question it further because ziyang had ran back into the forest and out of sight

when you went back to the apothecary the next day to deliver the moonflowers, your friend was thrilled and paid you accordingly for your efforts

“thank you, (y/n)! you’re a lifesaver”

“it’s no problem. let me know if you need me to gather anything else for you”

you were all too eager when your friend indeed had a list of ingredients that they were running low on stock on, all of which were grown in the forest 

something strong pulled at your chest at the thought of seeing a certain wolf

returning to the forest a few days later, you tried to follow the same path that you did the first time hoping it’ll lead you to ziyang again

while gathering a bunch of pygmy mushrooms, you heard a familiar low grumble and smiled brightly when you saw ziyang enter through the bushes

“i was hoping to see you again” you grinned, dropping everything to cradle his face and pet him affectionately

ziyang returned the affection with a lick to your cheek, rubbing his entire body into you and almost knocking you completely over causing you to laugh

“i see someone missed me too” you chuckled. “i brought something for you to thank you for escorting me out the other day”

looking into your basket, you took out a separate container and opened it to reveal a large raw steak you got from the butcher. holding it out to him with your hand, ziyang carefully pulled it away from your fingers and scarfed it down 

you were pleasantly surprised by how gentle he was considering he looked like he could devour you in one bite

just like before, ziyang stayed by your side the entire duration 

and so this became a regular thing for you and ziyang

every time you had to head back into the forest for ingredient scavenging, ziyang would always guard you throughout the process and walk you back to the entrance of the forest but never stepping out of it

you enjoyed talking to the large wolf, even though he never said anything back to you

however you suspected he understood every word you were saying judging by his body language

“the mason’s son is definitely fooling around with the merchant’s son, don’t you think?” *ziyang nods*

“i might have to skip dinner tonight if i want to make sure i plant the sapplings in time” *ziyang nips at your hand and shakes his head in disapproval*

“if you wore trousers, would you wear it only on your hind legs like a human or would you need custom pants to wear on all four legs?”

*ziyang has left the chat*

although no real words were exchanged, it was like you were talking to another human being no matter how silly it may have looked from the outside

you were once again walking through the forest to gather some more roots and plants for the apothecary 

however, after fifteen minutes of being on your own (ziyang usually found you within five minutes of you entering the woods), your furry companion was no where in sight

you were beginning to grow worried when more time passed and he still hadn’t shown up

you heard rustling come from beside you. using your lantern, you held it out in front of you and just briefly caught ash blonde locks duck behind a set of trees

“ziyang? is that you?”

the male whimpered in response, making your eyebrows furrow in worry

why did it look like he was hiding from you? 

“are you hurt?” you asked, taking a step forward towards him

you were astonished when the male growled at you in warning. however, it wasn’t in a threatening manner. it sounded like he was afraid

why would he suddenly be afraid of you?

“sweetie, it’s okay. it’s just me. you know i would never hurt you. come out, please?”

there was a moment of silence as ziyang contemplated your words before coming to a decision

however, you were astonished once more when instead of the four legged companion you expected, an unfamiliar male stepped out from behind the trees

the stranger was very tall and you had to lean your head up to look him in the face, which was framed with long light blonde hair. aside from a pair of trousers, he was devoid of any other clothes

but what caught your attention more was the fact that his entire upper body, hands, and feet were entirely covered in fur. your eyes trailed to the claws at the ends of his hands

moving your gaze to meet his eyes, you saw golden eyes looking at you with a mix of guilt, fear and a bit of hope

you could recognize those golden eyes and fur color anywhere

“...ziyang?”

ziyang looked physically relieved that you recognized him, but he made no move to step towards you

“it’s me...” he said, and you realized it matched that same voice you heard in your head a few weeks ago

“so this in entire time, you were a...”

“werewolf. i’m a werewolf and belong to a pack who rule these woods”

that explained why he understood everything you said and knew exactly how to find you each time you came

he wasn’t just a wolf

he was a wolf wolf

a diggity dang werewolf

while trying to process that thought in your mind, ziyang sighed sadly and took a tentative step towards you

“please don’t be afraid. i promise it’s still me. just in a different form than you’re used to” he explained and stopped a respectable few feet away from you 

you should have been afraid of him, but you weren’t. just like he said, he was still the ziyang you knew and adored

slowly walking towards him, you gently placed a hand over his heart, feeling it beat rapidly against your palm

“it really is you. i was scared something happened to you tonight,” you lightly slapped his bare chest and he winced in mock pain

“sorry, sweet. to be fair, you scare me as well”

you cheeks tinted pink at the sudden pet name. “s-sweet? and how can someone like me scare someone like you?”

“how can you not? whenever you’re around, i feel this innate need to protect you. i get excited at just the mere thought of seeing you again. you look at me with those pretty little eyes of yours and i lose all focus. one smile from you and i’m completely at your mercy. what have you done to me? you’re absolutely terrifying”

you felt that same strong pull tug at your heartstrings again, overwhelming your entire being but you welcomed the warm sensation

his words only made your heart beat even more

“i still find the idea that a big wolf like yourself has fallen for an ordinary human like me”

“you better get used to it because i intend on courting this ordinary human as my mate”

“m-mate?”

“mhm”

now that he knew you weren’t afraid of him, ziyang seemed to have made a full 180. instead of the timid being a few minutes ago, he stood charismatically in an almost alluring manner. his eyes though still held that same playful and soft gaze you realized he always looked at you with

“you sure you won’t regret it? courting me isn’t an easy feat”

“for you, i’ll do anything”

at this rate, you had a feeling it wouldn’t be long before you fell for him too

oner 《恶浪》 mv/film theory

(this is less of a theory and more of a debunking of the mv though)

warnings: mentions of violence, murder (i wont include gifs of the bloody moments but it will be discussed!!!), animal abuse, and a bomb or two ? (someone gets blown up ;-;)

honestly the debunking might get a lil bit dark around the ling chao and ziyang individual parts, so be warned of that!

oner - AGENT  (this is a song, but there’s quite a bit of dialogue near the end that ties into this plot!)  (cw gunshot, beeping noises that resemble a bomb ?? - all at the end of the song w/ the dialogue)

okay lets dive into it d(^-^)> !!!

to get the important info out of the way!

the start of the mv shows the three of them chilling on the couch, as friends do, watching,,well themselves on the screen (oner’s past performances as idols) (and i do believe that the idols part of this has some significance that i can figure out). the important takeaway from the beginning rlly is that they’re three good friends...who are completely unaware of each other’s secret occupations

their occupations being: ziyang, a murderer, yueyue, a spy, and ling chao, a hacker

now to jump into the main story! (starting around 1:35)

yueyue and ziyang both have the same target: the man in the restaurant. however yueyue gets there first and does his job well, as he gets away without being caught. ziyang is frustrated that his target is taken already.

*interesting detail here, but when trying to enter, ziyang shows them a ring with a purple jewel in the middle for entry,,,coincidentally, the man yueyue kills in the bar in his personal segment in the film later also has the same ring? obv the ring is for the restaurant entry so maybe ziyang wasn’t going to kill this “boss” but maybe negotiate/discuss something with him instead...but also thats disproven by the fact that ziyang pulled out a gun to presumably shoot him before realizing the dude was dead....

but also,,,suspicious how there was a zoom in to the purple ring when yueyue kills the man in the bar..maybe it means more than we think it does? altho im not too sure what  to think abt it for now

moving on 

okay so since yueyue is a spy n all, he has to confirm his kill somewhere right? this somewhere is a phone booth,,,one that ling chao has rigged up with a bomb,,,,

speculation: someone hired ling chao to kill someone who will be approaching the phone booth; at this time, lc doesn’t know that this someone is yueyue (and is v shocked to see him there through his cameras as evident by his “what the hell! are you kidding me?”)

....and after this part the film dives into their personal stories to give more background on who  these three are (i’ll expand on those after i finish explaining the present timeline ^^) before coming back to the main story 

so!

ling chao “accidentally” blew up yueyue oh no (he’s still alive tho yey)

& then yueyue holds up a piece of candy,,,and immediately knows its ling chao (cuz its the piece of candy lc was eating earlier in the film) 

(and to take care of all loose ends that my brain is providing me with: in the beginning they didn’t know abt each other’s secret occupations...how does yueyue know that lc is capable of doing this? my answer: they used to be agent buddies!!! i’ll expand on this later hehe)

 .

and so

it was at this moment ling chao knew...he fucked up

he’s afraid yueyue might come after him.

which, is exactly what yueyue does

after going home or somewhere, yueyue receives a text telling him to get rid of “them” (ling chao) bc his “identity is exposed” 

....so now yueyue has to go and hunt down his buddy ᕕ( ��� )ᕗ

and they fight! looks very painful for ling chao,,,poor dude,,,

since ziyang comes out from the back door to join the fight, theres two possibilities that come from this:

1) ling chao knew yueyue was coming and knew he couldnt take him down himself (lets be honest; he looks rlly scrawny) so he called ziyang to his location for backup (how could he know ziyang can fight? agent buddies 👐) 

2) ziyang and ling chao live together in the same house

anyways, both results making it obvious that ling chao and ziyang are on the same team while yueyue is on another (lets ignore the fact that ling chao was getting up to fight ziyang as well)

the fight scene is so dramatic oml T-T

ziyang could also be motivated to beat up yueyue in this fight cuz the dude did  take his target before he himself could (loophole: how did ziyang know it was yueyue who took his target? answer: maybe yueyue left like a signature or smthn at the crime scene, or ziyang saw him walk out  ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯ )

and when they all beat the living heck out of each other and are dramatically lying down in different areas of the room 

the tv turns on to a council saying “still want to be idols?”

(and remember, the thing they were watching on tv earlier was themselves performing,,,as idols. i cant connect it further than that so lemme know if yall figure smthn out ^-^)

so mayhaps this council is yueyue’s agency and they wanted to turn the trio against each other...? they would have set this whole situation up: they knew ziyang wanted to kill the restaurant “boss”, so they assigned yueyue to take care of him first, which creates conflict between those two. then, they hired ling chao to rig up a phone booth with a bomb; basically setting him up against yueyue

whether this council succeeds with their plan or not is unrevealed bc the film has a “to be continued” at the end, so the storyline still will have more to it!!!

although i would say the council succeeded since they all did beat each other bruised and bloody

what are there previous connections beyond them just being friends 👀 ?

agent buddies! the three of them used to be agents, as the song is titled, at some agency...and they probably made a pretty strong team together

the agency story would explain why they all seem to be good fighters too!

thats why the council might have wanted to tear them apart. perhaps the council was doing something that they knew would displease the trio, so they needed them separated lest they team up and try to defeat them 

i also think this audio could have been describing a mission going wrong for them, possibly their last one as a team. someone was probably hurt (im betting on either ziyang or ling chao), and they quit the agency and aimed to live normal lives from then on

...but old habits are hard to forget, so ziyang starts to kill ppl in his free time, yueyue joined another agency as a spy, and ling chao uses his hacking skills for other purposes

however they all dont tell each other, which could add on to the tension of their fight at the end of the film

now to dive into their individual bits of the film. these all don’t connect much to the main lore, just expands onto their lives with their secret occupations btw!

his segment details moments in his daily agent life; im guessing he’s not very happy with it judging by his nightmares? or the nightmares are bringing up his past at his old agency which he does not like

he’s also master of disguise woah

personally i think he’s losing “who he is”. he’s always playing the role of another person, always putting on another disguise...so he starts losing his sense of identity (if that makes sense ;-;) 

(and if you wanna stretch it and make things wholesome, maybe the only times he [feels like himself] is when he’s around his two friends)

so basically: he’s always filling out other personas to the point where he doesnt know who he is anymore

(this is also the segment where he kills a man in the bar with poison,,,and the man was wearing the same ring as ziyang,,,,which is like Hm. why’d the directors do that 🤔)

okay his segment starts of with him dragging a man through a white room, where the floors is covered with plastic, and on the walls are a bunch of clay molds of human body parts

my brain has concluded that! ziyang takes clay and makes molds of his victim’s faces/body parts of who he kills! to make statues! 

(i dont even know how i got there aksjdhdh but thats just what i assumed the first time i watched this film thingy)

and to make it more messed up than it already sounds,,,im guessing he’s a famous statue maker too, and holds shows where he presents his works to the public and maybe even bids them off ?

          (this kinda remind me of sally and gabe’s statue from the pjo too now aksjhdkdh)

(i got this assumption from 6:50 in the film where he walks out in front of an audience who start clapping,,,and let my brain run wild with the rest,,,)

of course, he probably kills off the people he was the molding the clay off of once he’s done with his works,,,or sometimes even in the middle of his works as shown in the mv (*-* )

but alas that is not all to his story,,,

judging by his flashbacks when he’s beating that one dude to death with a bat, he used to be bullied when he was in school, which seems to be the source of all his anger throughout the film..

its part of his personality to be rough and short tempered - he doesn’t like people looking down on him (as the bullies did)

and then bam! one day he breaks into her house, steals the dog away, and then,,,,blows her up,,,,,
