So, I just finished reading the Eumenides and there’s honestly so many passages that could apply to Bleach because of the whole ‘when is enough retribution enough’ but this quote in particular really sprung out to me as being very Tosen & Hisagi.
“I urge my people to follow and revere neither tyranny nor anarchy,
and to hold fear close,
never cast it out entirely from the city.
For what man who feels no fear is able to be just?”
#Libation Bearers definitely has the best rhythm and moments that fuck#but Eumenides is great because can you imagine being a citizen and fucking QUAKING as two different gods yell at you to cast your ballot#in their favor#Athena: don’t worry this vote is to end the concept of unending retribution#regular ass people seeing a flock of horrors created by the old gods screaming that they’ll kill them: o-okay#am I making connections? who knows#fuck EDITED BC I MISSED ONE PANEL AND PLACED ANOTHER ONE IN THR WRONG PLACE#Aizen is tyranny and Kenpachi is anarchy

Why did my cooking dream get hijacked by my brain making a William Afton oc and au what was that about.
#luly talks#my dreams#I'll peace like i can recollect it was weird#bc it literally was ME BUYING GROCERIES W MY DAD but then the line between when we ended and Michael and William started blurred#i remember the grocery store very well also bc it was very similar to the one i go always to but smaller and more sepia#it was dark for a grocery store like it was just letting sunlight in#pears were half off like some black friday offer so all the products were suuuper cheap#i saw one bottle of milky pear juice for like 1k. and the same w these 4 stacks of frozen waffles who were like 1070.#or this bottle of pear pancake mixture that had 2 or 4 lts#it was kind of when i went away that thr lines started blurring so let me tell you what i remember about this Afton:#he didnt seem. murderous. he was grocery shopping w his kid for fuck's sake 😭 i think he was even sitting somewhere while i ran back and#forth taken aback by these offers? like kinda dismissive at best#uh. Henry was brought up believe it or not. it was like... they broke up or something? like he was kinda upset about the mention but like#in a i dont want to explain why im not with him rn sort of way#very insecure he seemed. like he run into this woman who might've been someone but idk who was whom asked sbout henry and bro was SWEATING#you'd say dream william was a fucking loser he just got locked in thinking like what do i say and HOW do i say it#to make it sound casual but also not weird.#bc on top of all he also seemed to have some weird gender things going on bc he first instinct when trying to explain himself to the woman#(who i cannot stress enough was super friendly like a fucking neighbor or something just going hey hi! hows da family? ^_^)#was to refer to them both as girls as this jokey comradery Let's Ignore The Topic thing before going No That's Bad I Can't Say That#this whole internal monologue in my dream happened in a sort of comic panel thing btw where shit went from these warm browns and greens and#shit from the grocery store to jarring black and whites and reds as William tried to have a straight thought#looks wise unfortunately not a lot going on.though considering this was literally my dream getting turned over can we say my Afton is argie#something something my turn stealing from them etc etc or whatever#uh. brown hair. but not too dark. it was greying and that was making it lighter. also very angular face as you'd expect#high cheekbones pretty eyebrows no facial hair. hair was a bit longuish tho? like a messy ear length maybe?#he had a button up w buttons lose bc it's so hot and humid rn also sunglasses which i know 100% was influenced bc the last design i rbed#a little.before napping#also he had age makes too though his age was most visible in his scrawny long exposed neck#me/mike change was minimal bc we're both pale and brunette hit tag limit so hope y'all like my brain's oc i guess 😭

Rating FL's part 3
Shuri
12/10: I just started reading A step mothers marchen (and it's probably gonna take a while to finish it since Bato doesn't have a full English translation) but from the few chapters I read I agreed with fans of the book that Shuri is without a doubt one of the best FL's. There's actual development between her and the step-children and she succeeds at being relatable without making her too overpowered.
Athanasia
7/10: Okay while I don't really care too much about WMMAP, I still think that for one of the first most popular otome isekais Athy was a pretty good protagonist and most of my complaints about her are mostly just ant hills. I don't have much to say on Athy other then she's a good start for OI protagonists but could be a little better.
Aisha
9/10: Is she generic? Yes, does that make her a bad protagonist? No. I don't understand what people mean when they say Marianne overshadows her unless they're talking about the fandom specifically because as someone who also really loves Marianne, she barely shows up on screen so to say that she overshadows Aisha just because Aisha is a typical sweet saintess heroine is stupid. Sometimes ITLA can be a little on the nose with how nice she is but I still find Aisha pretty well made.
Sienna
9/10: Okay I officially love manhwa where the maid is the protagonist instead of a noblewoman and as short as the manhwa she's from is, I still think she's a sweetheart. My only complaint is that the story keeps randomly inserting sad backstory memories so you feel bad for her, like one minute she'll be doing something ordinary and then next she's basically just like "This reminds me of when my step-mom hit me with jumper cables after I spilled one drop of tea." And then it goes back to the present within one panel.
Hae Soo
6.5/10: I'm sorry but people meat ride her WAY too much. She's not a terrible FL but there is so much better and she's really not all that because you can kinda tell by the way that she's the only female character thats likable and with that bodytype that she's just a self insert character.
Ruby
8/10: For once we have a piece that actually looks into the typical white lotuses point of view, Like Helena except way darker when it comes to backstories. I like that Ruby is shown to be more emotional cause I never liked how a lot of manhwa imply that emotions=crybaby FL, it all depends on how it's handled and I think thr author was very respectful when it came to her abuse and ED. However like Sienna there are times when the author is trying too hard and ends up forgetting certain parts of Ruby's trauma. For example they mentioned early in the chapters that Ruby's beloved older sister had died but it's barely mentioned in the future on how it affected her, so it ends up feeling like it was just a way to feel bad for her even more.
Aria
6/10: so on one hand I'm really glad that Aria is actually evil instead of the comic just saying " Oh no! She's not evil! She's too nice for that" because if villainess is gonna be in the title then she should keep some of her villainous traits, but I really don't know if I should see her as super smart if all her enemies are too stupid to combat her, it makes Aria look really stupid when she got killed in the first timeline if they're so bad at crimes.
Eris
10/10, Love my girl Eris! Kill the villainess was great for a lot of things, a knight for the ML instead of the prince, the ogfl not being a white lotus out to ruin Eris's life, and morally corrupt villains that felt like obstacles, but what they did the best was the FL because Eris actually retains her goal on going back to her world instead of shrugging it off and going to sleep because you know most people would be freaking out if they woke up as a historical woman in a time period where women had no rights and it was easy to die after getting sick once.
Roxana
9.5/10: She's overrated but that doesn't make a character bad by default. When I finally read Roxana after seeing the hype I could understand why they loved Roxana so much. Now as much as I don't like evil protagonists who don't suffer consequences, the story makes up for it by being self aware that the Agriche family are a bunch of lunatics with the exception of Roxanas mom and her late brother. Being chaotic is simply part of the plot so I don't think it's fair for me to fault it. That being said as much as I loved her I do think that her takeover during the end chapters shouldn't have been done and done so easily and quickly.
Verta
7/10: similar to Roxana, Depths of malice is self aware that Verta is a terrible person even though she has a tragic backstory, it's only an explanation for why she's like this not an excuse. If you know me, you know I love the white lotus women so seeing one as a protagonist was something extraordinary since I thought everyone but me and a select few hated two faced women. She only really earns a 7 because as good as she is, there are better ones.
#a stepmother's marchen#who made me a princess#into the light once again#The princesses maid#tears on a withered flower#how to get my husband on my side#the villainess reverses the hourglass#kill the villainess#the way to protect the female leads brother#Depths of malice#webtoon#manhwa#tapas

Quackity x reader where they’re in a relationship but they try to keep it private when going to public events (twitch con, esland awards etc)
YEA
word count:293
warnings: none i think no gender specified
ok so
let's say yall have been dating for a few years but have been best friends before that
so when you guys wanted your relationship to be private it engr that hard because your basically dating your best friend.
and only your family and friends you trust know.
well already people would tweet or say in chat that they wanna have your friendship lol and even before you were dating people would say yall are a cute couple when you weren't.
anyways. so with his and your channels blowing up, you both would be invited to a lot of public events
so starting with twitch con I think it would be pretty easy, but would be kinda hard to remember that your supposed to keep your relationship private.
and he's not that big a fan of pda either but sometimes, like at just at the store or something when he passes by you he'll just lightly gaze his hand over your lower back.
and he almost did that on thr panel, but quickly caught himself.
you both would probably get separate rooms too, maybe you'll share a room with Nikki or something.
now on the panel yall would sit next to each other like with you on his left
you'd both just act like you were best friends, laughing and insulting each other like it.
you probably stay by each others side the whole time as well.
and when you're meeting fans they'll probably ask to take one with both of you(since yall are probably the best duo there lol)
and there's 100% ship edits and shipers out there and they probably say something like "omg look at the way quackity looks at y/n"
SORRY I KNOW THIS IS SHORT IM SORRY

Can I get some serotonin in the form of Fives and Echo moving in with Echo’s s/o? Kind of the idea you had in another post about having to buy a house for your s/o and also their brothers.
He didn't own much. None of them did. What the three of them could scrounge together would fill one small dwelling. "Apartment" as she called it. Two bedroom, one bath. "like the nice dorms in college" she'd laughed.
It was new.
somehow bigger and smaller than anywhere he's ever laid his head before. The little square space behind the sliding door at the end of the hall. It was his now. just big enough for a bed set into an alcove in the wall and a small bit of space in front of it.
He'd already done his best to messy it. Thrown his gear over the small table and the bedding he'd been gifted was piled awkwardly in the center. It wasn't enough stuff to actually make a mess of anything though.
The room was bare.
Two doors down was a room of the same size. Where Echo and his Cyare would be staying. Her things were already spread across the room. bed made up in a feminine fashion. Two pillows, thick cover layered with something softer and flimsier over the top. screw in lights had been chosen with a soft blue color overhead.
Shoes were placed side by side. Her things one one side of the table and Echo's on the other. Her clothes hanging from the bar and Echo's gear stacked on the shelf, even now gathering dust.
It was more luxury than Fives had ever know. He ran his hand curiously over the soft fabric, the fur bending under his palm placid and smooth silky as rain. The smell even had something entirely feminine wrapped up in the same generic soap and sanitizer scent of his brother.
It made something wistful and maybe a little jealous flex in his chest. It wasn't as if he were missing out. The real luxuries of the apartment were free for him to use. A personal fresher with a real water washing system. A kitchen equipped with some fancy gadgets he had to be taught to use, but had immediately grown fond of. Stocked with real non-instant Caf and real food, bread even.
A holoscreen and lounging furniture. And a web access panel complete with long distance communications so he could stay in touch with his brothers near and far.
But it still felt terrifyingly new. fragile and barely tangible. He couldn't see himself laying down on this rack- this bed alone tonight.
It wouldn't be the first time. Since Echo found himself attached Fives had been spending most of his nights out. With the boys or with some lucky so and so. He'd been bed jumping since they'd been released from duty. Too anxious to stay anywhere long. Until she'd come to him. With a wide smile and open arms. Talking very seriously about how much help Echo would need adjusting, especially with his limbs being the way they were. She'd asked him politely to move in with them.
She was moving to an area closer to where Echo would be receiving his military health benefits. She was getting a new place with an extra room just for him. "you'll have to pitch in on rent." She'd said like he could possibly argue.
Of course he'd go where his brother went. Without question or leverage or bargaining as she was trying to do now. Without the guilt trip of Echo needing someone to lean on, physically. He would go in a moment if he asked.
"I'm asking because I know he won't. He wants you to go do whatever you want to, with or without him. But I think we both know you'll need each other." She'd said with a fond smile.
So here he was with his one pile of cloths and his blanket and nothing more, watching the two of them giggle and wedge past him in the cramped hall to get to their room. He moves out of the way backing through his own door way to make room.
He'll go out tonight, he decides. There's no way he'll settle like this, besides maybe they'd like some time to themselves.
He shrugs on his coat, the shiny leather thing Ahsoka had gifted him that had pulled no less than three companions, He swiped a hand through his hair and clipped the com to his wrist.
He's almost out of the door when there's another commotion of giggles behind him.
"Where are you going, vod?" she calls.
He can't help the strike of amusement. shuffling back to the hall to glance into their room where his brother is reclined in his new bed, pillows tossed onto the floor and his girl is perched beside him with her knees tucked under her.
"giving the two of you some privacy." He snarks popping his hip out and resting a hand on it. "You sound like a couple of rylothian shriek birds in the spring."
Echo covers his face with his forearm. "ugh, don't remind me." That sound had kept them all up for days, the birds giving into their very loud mating rituals.
"We'd rather have company that privacy." She insists reaching a hand out to him where he's leaning against the door frame.
Fives makes a dramatic facial expression and turns up his nose. "I don't know what you've heard but we don't do any of that twin stuff you see in the holovids."
He's too busy staring at the ceiling in his mock (mostly mock) disgust, to realize she'd stood until she has him by the wrists.
"Don't be fucking gross." She bites out at the same time that she pulls him over letting Echo get his hand around one of his elbows. The both of them force him down onto the bed.
"Okay, you're saying one thing and then forcing me into your bed-" He cuts off as she snatches a pillow from the floor and smacks him in the face with it.
"I'm just saying! these are really mixed signals."
"Shut your trap Vod." Echo grits out as he wraps an arm around his brother, dragging him further onto the bed.
The little thing really shouldn't fit all three of them. But Echo and Fives have spent so much of their lives folding around each other that not even Echo's metal embellishments can get between them.
She's opposite them, sitting up with her legs tucked between their bodies and her back to the wall. She'd chattier than he expected for someone attached to Echo. The two of them have been talking nonstop since she'd started this strange situation. Echo chiming in now and then but mostly content to listen to them go on and on.
Maybe some part of it fills the silence. That echoing emptiness that he'd been trying to drown out at 79's. He doesn't dwell on the sad parts as he prattles on about anything and everything. Content to watch the way she doubles over laughing. Her hands crawling under Echo's pant leg and her thumb digging it's self into the spaces between his muscles. Digging in and massaging away any stiffness.
His brother blinks slowly like Ahsoka does when curled in someone's lap and particularly appeased.
And the three of them drift from moment to moment until he wakes somewhat sweaty and wrapped in that sinfully soft blanket. Echo pining one arm down and the girl wedged between their legs curled in a ball like a content cat.

STAR WARS MASTERLIST THE GREAT FIGHT MASTERLIST
Truth be told, the kiss shared between Hunter and Miri in the hangar bay on Ord Mantell had not been their first one, but it had been arguably the most important.
The first one, much milder than that one, had occurred during the Clone Wars, some time after Miri had been assigned their general. It had been one of those rare nights where she had let herself follow Hunter to his bunk, sliding in before him and pressing against the wall, letting his large frame shield her from the outside. They had spoken, in hushed whispers, of the day they had just finished and the close calls the mission had put them in.
Not an unusual occurrence, but Miri had put herself in the line of fire for one of them and had gotten hurt. Something she did quite often, as reckless and selfless as ever, but this time it had worried Hunter more than it normally would have. He ran his fingers over the bacta patches on her arms before moving to the ones on her torso, covering the gashes the debris had cut into her skin, and thought about how close it had been to being much worse. “You really risked it today,” he stated, eyes flickering up to meet her gaze.
“It wasn’t that bad,” she countered, still maintaining the justification of her actions. “We didn’t know there would be that much heat by the control panel, and Tech needed cover. I did what I had to do,” she pushed, voice light despite the topic of their conversation.
“Miri, you could have gotten sliced in two,” he shook his head, as best he could laying on his side. “There was a different way to cover Tech where you wouldn’t have been so exposed.”
“Hunter, I know what I’m doing,” she sighed. “I’m a Master Jedi, and I’m your general; I could handle that and I did.”
Her words hung in the air between them, the small bunk going quiet as he thought them over. She was right, as much as it sometimes felt like a slap in the face, that she was his general. Whatever they had, whatever they were doing crammed into his bunk in the late of night, it was not allowed. His feelings, the way he worried for her, cared for her, was not allowed. The kiss he wanted to press to her lips so badly, because she was his favorite secret, was not allowed.
“I just,” he cut himself off, almost second guessing himself. “I just don’t want anything bad to happen to you. We need you around here.”
Clone Force 99 had been doing just fine without her, they most certainly did not need anyone, but Miri had joined them and added to the fine machinery of their squad. She fit, as if she was made to, and they operated as efficiently as ever. But really, deep down and hidden from the light of day, Hunter needed her. He needed her so badly he didn’t even know how to feel about it, and these thoughts had him leaning forward, subconsciously pressing his lips to hers in a soft kiss. His mind caught up with his body when he felt her kiss him back, and he pulled himself away. Why he had done that, he did not know, and he could only hope the darkness hid the heat that gathered in his face.
“Hunter,” she whispered after a few seconds of silence. He hummed in response, still not speaking. “I’m not going anywhere.”
Her promise, spoken quietly to the man and the universe, the Maker and the Force, was followed by another light kiss.
-: ✧
When they had landed back on Coruscant, Miri knew she would not be seeing them for a few rotations as they were returning to Kamino. As she made her way down the steps, she fought off the grin that attempted to spread across her face. “Well, I’ll see you boys soon, alright?” She turned to face them once she was on the ground, looking up at them all huddled around the entrance of the ship. They were dropping her off, and when they got their next mission, she’d call them and they’d pick her up again; as they always did. “Stay outta trouble for me.”
Wrecker laughed, knowing that was unlikely, before they bid their farewells, all unique in their own way. Hunter was the last to walk away, wanting to see her until the very end, and she smiled at him right before the ramp finally closed and she had no choice but to back up to give them room to take off. As soon as the Marauder was gone, she turned and dashed off to the Temple, knowing she needed to give the Council her mission report, but wanting to get it over with as soon as possible.
And though Master Yoda and Mace Windu had drawn the meeting out a bit when her injuries were revealed, she made it out no more battered than before. Their usual reprimands and criticisms had been deflected, for she did not feel like letting them make her shoulders heavy today. The person she was searching for, however, was nowhere to be seen in the Temple, so her exit was made quickly and promptly.
The Senator’s apartment was a short trip by speeder, and she hastily made her way up to the correct floor. She found a giddiness bubbling in her chest, as if she was a child once again, running to her friend to share something big. The guards outside of the Nabooian Senator’s apartment stopped her short, and her words came out rushed. “I need to speak with Anakin Skywalker,” she panted lightly. “It’s…Jedi business.”
They stepped aside, letting her step forward and ring the buzzer, shuffling her feet as she waited. Once the doors slid open, Senator Amidala stood before her with a surprised smile. “Master Rocksled,” she greeted, stepping back to let the woman in. The doors slid shut behind her, and Miri attempted to reign herself in as she turned to the politician.
“Sorry to disturb you, Senator, but I have to talk to Anakin.” She was serious, and Padme’s brows furrowed at what could possibly be so urgent. This was not common, although Miri was one of the only people who knew about herself and the Jedi Knight, she did well to keep it hidden from the public.
But what was public knowledge was that Miri Rocksled and Anakin Skywalker were best friends. Had been ever since the boy had joined the Order, and Padme knew that if she insisted she needed to speak with him, it was important. “Anakin,” she called, and the man emerged from around the corner but a moment later.
“Miri?” He questioned when his eyes landed on her. She stepped forward, a pep in her step as she ventured into the apartment.
“Hunter kissed me.” She stated, hitting him right with it as she could not afford to beat around the bush. This information had been stewing ever since it happened, the need to share it with her friend almost causing her to explode.
Anakin didn’t respond, though his jaw dropped and he stared at her with his mouth open comically wide. “Twice,” she added, causing him to let out a short breath that resembled a laugh.
“Oh my Gods, Miri,” he grinned, stepping closer as well as his voice lowered, finding the information just as juicy as she had hoped. He knew this was going to happen, no matter how much the woman had denied it would.
“Wait,” Padme stepped forward, eyes wide at the information she had overheard. “Hunter, as in your Sergeant, Hunter?”
Miri whipped back around to look at Anakin, who scratched the back of his neck sheepishly. “Sorry, it kind of slipped out,” he apologized, guilt written all over his face as he grinned slightly.
She couldn’t help but laugh, shaking her head. “Such a gossip,” she chastised before turning back to Padme. “Yes, that Hunter.”
“Oh, wow,” Padme gasped. “That’s good, right? I mean,” she grinned, “you do feel quite strongly about him, don’t you, Miri?” There was a tease in her voice that told her Anakin had rubbed off on her, and it made her scoff jokingly.
“What am I going to do with you two?” She shook her head, and the couple laughed as Padme made her way closer to them. She wouldn’t admit it to anyone, but this was nicer than she had thought. They never got to spend time with other people as they really were, but Miri was a trusted friend and she did not need to hide from her. It was freeing, it was nice, and it was welcomed.
“The real question is,” Anakin held a finger up, pointing at her. “What are you going to do about Hunter?”

At the end of The High Republic phase 1. Only Fallen Star & Midnight Horizon left basically. Mission to Disaster-Fallen Star comics reading post! (I'm emotionally devastated after reading Star Wars Adventures #12 you have no idea)
Love love love love this cover. Kantam Sy my beautiful partner they're soooooo
LOST ALL MY GALACTIC BAKE-OFF SCREENSHOTS AND I'M TOO LAZY TO GO BACK AND FIND NEW ONES. Here are my favorite pages anyway it was so cute and Lily was there I think? pretty sure that's her with the black hair and the bob, it seems right (and Burry!)
I have a lot to say about Trail of Shadows #3 but first of: slut. put a shirt on. Jesus.
Dalna mentioned! Haha that planet is going to helllllll
Keeve aka my special little guy finally got a hug! I bet Emerick gives the best hugs
A lot going on with the dialogue but my first thought here was "CHOPPER?????" no, it's Estala Maru's droid. It is pretty similar tho
Big fan of how connected THR is, love to randomly see Ram Jomaram in Trail of Shadows (I only got the race in THR Adventures later but it's a nice connecting thread)
Oh Avar is tiredddddd I need her
Again, the connections are great! I love this panel a lot
:):):):) Rooting for them, wholesome relationships are always welcome for me
Turns out I did, not, in fact, lose my Galactic Bake-off screenshots, I'm just bad at finding them. Here's Kantam again because look at them!!!
FUCKKKKK ZEEN AND LULA ARE GONNA END IN A TRAGEDY AREN'T THEY
connectionsssss
Deva's design is so cool, I know she's hundreds of years old and that she appears in the Sana Starros series but I hope we see her in Phase 3 too if that even makes sense
Affieeeeeeee
Wait just how big is Geode should I start running
And what if I said Yoda-Kantam-Lula Jedi lineage goes down to Mana-Ky-Asajj linea- (given Lula lives)
This isn't ending well for them is ittttt
Them! Also the 2nd one is such a funny ending page with Krix on da ground barely alive
Huh ok so I got through THR phase 1 much faster than I thought I would. All in all, I started in the middle of the summer, more or less, and not only did I finish most of it, I also squeezed a fair amount of Legends books in between. I will be starting the Fallen Star as soon as I finish another Legends book, and then Midnight Horizon and maybe a few more things and I'll start being annoying about The High Republic Phase 2 instead! (I still have some Phase 1 comics left, but after the fallen star and midnight horizon lol)

quick question. You seem to know about the Emmys a little bit.
How many of these interviews, like the one with Sarah and Taylor, can there be? Up until the nominations.
Ahh I actually don't know much about it at all so I'm not the best to ask, but I did do some research. From what I know, FYC campaign events can manifest in a few different ways: panels (like the one with Sarah and Taylor), podcasts (like the one with Nick and Taylor), roundtables (like the one with Nick), interviews (like the one Sarah Shahi did with Gold Derby), and exhibits (like the Prime Experience).
As for panels, I think expect only one or two more, including the Prime Experience one, which we still don't know who will be participating. THR has their 'Awards Chatter' podcast which hopefully we might see someone from RWRB featured in soon.
If anyone knows more, please chime in!

Hey again, so with your beautifully designed au in comic style/format (just how you seperatr thr borders n whetr u place like the story/images just makes my brain get very pleasebt) I was wondering how would you start a comic/au or formay it? Like where yoh put your borders n boxes.
Im trying to start my own au yet im very confused on whrre to even start. Also havr an amazing rest of May, hope you are doing well♡
(alzo very sorrg about the spelling mistakes n if this dorsnt maks srnsr its currrntly 2am n brainworms (tmnt aus) wont let me sleep)
OK SO LIKE. i'm still very much a comics amateur but also I've been making them since i was like 8 years old so I guess I can probably give you some GENERAL advice.
Here's a breakdown of my process
write the script (i usually write the script ahead of time but i often edit it up until i make the page)
sit around with my eyes closed imagining a comic page (you will get better with this the more comics you make/read. always try to remember the make the paneling interesting/relevant. sometimes tho a square is the best option lol)
thumbnail the comics (thumbnail = very quick and small sketches of general shapes, lines of action of characters, panel placement, and word bubble placement)
now I move on to either pre-sketching (if its a more polished comic) or just freehanding the whole page (if it's a more sketchy quick style comic, like my leo memory one is) this is where I generally finalize the layout of the comics. I think i have a few webcomic WIP rpages I can use as an example below.
REMINDER it's important to always drop your text/word bubbles into the comic presketches, and try to figure them into your thumbnailing. you don't want to accidentally not leave enough room for the words and have to crunch stuff together.
anyway here's an example of thumbnailing (probably only an inch or two big irl), presketching, and the final page.
buuuut like i said I'm not a professional at this, but here's helpful walk through written by a REAL comic artist that I particularly like: How To Sakana (click through to read the whole thing, its broken up into pages)
(my last advice is to look for more of these types of guides made by other comic artists. I'm only an amalgamation of the people I've learned from lol)

The Mistletoe Trap
Drastic times called for drastic measures. Or that's what Jonas insisted from his precarious perch atop a pilfered desk chair that he was currently standing on, in the middle of the dorm lounge, stretching to drive a thumbtack into the dorm ceiling. “Trust me, this will totally work!”
Lana dubiously looked up at him, arms crossed and blonde eyebrow raised. “Are you sure it won't just make things awkward with them?"
“Even those two idiots have to clue in with this!” Jonas hopped off the chair and stepped back to survey his handiwork. “I mean, this is a central element in every cheesy romance movie set around Christmas. Guy encounters girl, guy and girl both look up and realize they're under thr mistletoe, guy and girl kiss, guy and girl realize they're in love…”
“And are you an expert in Hallmark movies?” Lana asked, brushing a lock of blonde hair out of her eyes.
“I have a mother who's obsessed with those movies,” Jonas answered. “I learn things by osmosis. Besides, you only need to see one Hallmark movie to figure out the plot for all of them…”
“You're not wrong,” Lana conceded. She looked over her shoulder as Koth emerged from his room, shrugging his jacket on. “What do you think? Do we have a chance of setting our favourite idiots up with this?”
Koth craned his neck to look up at the mistletoe and frowned. “Isn't it supposed to be in a doorway, instead of the middle of a room?”
Jonas groaned. “I spent long enough fighting to get it to stay up there without falling! Can't we break tradition just this once?”
“Nope. If we're doing a mistletoe set-up, we gotta do it right.” Koth jumped up on the desk chair and pried the thumbtack, with its precious burden of mistletoe, out of the ceiling. He paused and dubiously eyed the little pin. “... This will be a pain to stick into the doorframe.”
“Nothing some tape can't fix,” Lana said with a nod. She hurried down the hallway to her room, and returned a minute later with a roll of tape in her hands. “Just don't use all of it, mind.”
“You're the best.” Koth dragged the chair over to the entrance of the dorm lounge and clambered back onto the seat. “Am I centre-ish?”
Jonas stepped back and tilted his head. “Bit to the left… no, no, my left… smidge more… there, that's about as centred as you're gonna get. I'm too lazy to find a measuring tape to make sure.”
“Works for me!” Koth started taping up the mistletoe, making sure to leave most of it dangling in the doorway. “How's the rest of the decorating coming along, do you know?”
“Mako and Vette were working on what they say will be the most epic paper chain to grace a dorm floor,” Lana said. “And I think Kira and Xaja are in charge of paper snowflakes. A pity we have no space in here for a tree…”
“Or budget,” Jonas added. “Being that we're all broke college students.” He watched as Koth jumped back down from the chair, mistletoe in place, then grinned. “Shall we find covert watching positions so we can observe our handiwork?”
“Great, give them both performance anxiety,” Koth snorted. “They'll both appreciate that so much.”
Jonas snorted a laugh. “That's why I said covert, moron.” He sharply looked to the front door as he heard the sound of a keycard on the security panel. “Quick, that might be them!”
The trio scrambled for the shelter of the couches, and by unspoken agreement, all pretended to be intently interested in their phones. They could hear the sounds of two pairs of feet coming down the hallway, around the corner, and pausing at the entrance to the lounge…
“Oh, hell no,” Thexan's voice sounded. “Go ahead, Arcann, I insist.”
“Why do you insist I–?” There was a pause before Arcann groaned. “Ah. Yeah, there is no way in hell I'm kissing you, Thexan.”
Suppressing her disappointment that the intended targets weren't the ones who had arrived first, Lana looked up. “You know you two would have gotten a pass, right?” she asked. “Being literal brothers and all.”
“I dated a girl in high school who was really into a particular subset of the Supernatural fandom,” Thexan answered. “And I don't mean the Destiel shippers. I've had trust issues ever since I caught her quizzing Arcann on some very personal questions.”
“Ewww.” Jonas looked up from his phone. “Yeah, valid. Now shoo so we can wait for the actual targets.”
“You mean the two who were walking back from the cafeteria?” Thexan grinned. “You guys are not subtle at all about this. I mean, waiting for them?”
“Subtlety isn't working!” Koth complained. “We gotta go for the obvious now.”
“I still say we should lock them in a closet,” Arcann commented as he dropped his book bag by Jonas’ couch. “Or set up a blind date for each of them.”
“If they haven't figured it out by spring break, we'll try the closet,” Lana promised. “By then there should be enough sexual tension pent up…”
“What are we talking about with sexual tension?” A horned head poked itself into the lounge, a huge grin on its face.
“I thought I told you to fuck out of here and not come back again last week, Gault!” Lana snapped, amber eyes flashing angrily.
“I'm an invited guest!” Gault protested. “Hylo said I could come in!”
“Not if you two are going to lock me out of my room for three hours while you have sex and then have a blow-up fight!”
“That was one little argument–”
“At one in the morning, that woke both me and Torian up,” Koth interjected, scowling.
“So the timing wasn't ideal,” Gault said with a shrug. “Sorry for disturbing your beauty sleep.” He glanced upward and grinned. “Awww, but you lot can't be that hard-up about it! Look what's on the ceiling!”
“Not for you,” Jonas interrupted. “It's a trap for Theron and Xaja!”
“We’ll break it in for them!” Gault cheerily grinned, then darted through the lounge to Hylo and Lana's room, pounding on her door.
Lana sighed in frustration, jaw visibly clenched. “If he turns up dead one day, I had nothing to do with it,” she growled.
“We'll help with the alibi,” Koth nodded, watching as Hylo emerged from the room with her brow wrinkled. The frown turned into a grin from the Mirialan as she followed Gault under the mistletoe; the Devaronian took the opportunity to dip Hylo for a passionate kiss.
“Get a room!” Jonas hollered over when the kissing didn't seem to abate after a few seconds.
“And not mine!” Lana added indignantly. “Again!” She looked over at Jonas. “I'm much more sympathetic toward Theron now…”
“I don't lock him out that often!” Jonas protested. “And the one time I did led to him meeting his soulmate, so…”
Gault finally straightened up from the kiss and let Hylo up to catch her breath. “See? We're wingmaning for you, Lana–” His eyes suddenly went wide, and he booked it for the safety of the front door, fleeing Lana's wrath as the blonde started to get to her feet.
Hylo watched her boyfriend escape, then shrugged at Lana. “He's not wrong?” she said with a little chuckle. “It's just his way of helping – and look at that, I need to be in the library right now!” She fled after Gault, with a bit of a laugh, as Lana snarled something entirely unprintable at her back.
“... The library?” Thexan asked as the door slammed shut behind the couple. “She hasn't set foot in the library since term started!”
“You'd know, considering you live there,” Arcann commented.
“Very funny,” Thexan muttered, then looked over as the front door opened and closed again. “Is that finally them?”
“Get over here in case it is!” Koth hissed. “Act natural!”
“Gawking is natural, for having just watched Hylo and Gault apparently make back up,” Arcann commented with a grin. Still, he sat down on the arm of Jonas' couch, as Thexan hurried over to flop beside Koth. Still grumbling, Lana sat back down and scowled at her phone like it was responsible for her roommate woes.
And not a second too soon – Theron Shan was the next person to poke his head into the lounge, not realizing he was directly under the mistletoe trap. “Well, don't we look conspiratal,” he commented, looking at the cluster of students on the couches. “We planning evil things here?”
“Just concerning my roommate and the douchebag she's dating,” Lana grumbled. “Do you know of a good place to dump a body?”
“Xaja says she watches true crime shows,” Theron suggested, as the aforementioned redhead popped up beside him. “You got an idea for a good place to dispose of Gault or Hylo?”
“I owe Hylo one for that troubleshooting with my car the other week, so I can't help murder her,” Xaja said. “Gault, on the other hand, I can definitely help dispose of.” She paused, frowning at the widening grins being sent at her and Theron. “... What? Do I have something in my teeth?”
“Theron could help with that, if you do,” Jonas innocently suggested.
Theron promptly sputtered in mortified indignation. “I – what?!”
“Look up,” Thexan said with a smirk.
Both Theron and Xaja glanced upward – a second later, Xaja squeaked, her cheeks going as red as her hair. “Is that… which one of you assholes hung up mistletoe?!” Beside her, Theron seemed to be at a loss for words, eyes wide and mouth dropped open.
“Doesn't matter,” Koth said, grinning impishly. “To quote from the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie – just kiss!”
“It needs to be cleansed after watching Hylo and Gault make out under it,” Lana added in a mutter.
“But– we're not–!” Xaja yelped. “Hylo and Gault are at least a thing! Theron and I aren't!”
“Being a ‘thing’ isn't part of the mistletoe rules,” Arcann retorted, laughing. “Or are you two chicken?”
“We aren't chicken!” Theron piped up, indignant despite the flush to his cheeks. “We just… uh…” He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. “... Which one of you assholes had this idea?”
“Does that matter?” Jonas all but cackled. “Kiss her already!”
Theron softly groaned, then turned to look at Xaja, who seemed to have become very focused on a random spot on his hoodie shoulder. “Erm… listen, I'm sorry about this…” he started to say.
“No, uh, it's… it's okay. It's definitely not your doing.” Xaja looked up from her visual examination of his hoodie, still bright red. She hesitated, then glared in the direction of the couches and the pair's eagerly-watching audience. “Do you fuckers have to sit there and watch like that?”
“What, do you have performance issues?” Jonas grinned evilly. “I'm reasonably sure Theron won't care about that–”
“Forget Gault – I'm murdering you,” Xaja growled. She looked back up at Theron. “You can look forward to a single room next semester.”
“Works for me,” Theron agreed, giving Jonas a malevolent glare. He shifted awkwardly, then quickly stooped to give Xaja a brief peck on the lips, seemingly before he could lose his nerve.
“Awww, come on!” Koth complained. “That barely counted as a kiss!”
“If you dumbasses weren't fucking staring at us…” Theron snapped.
Koth sighed dramatically. “Fine, if we all look away, are you two actually gonna kiss properly?”
“You know,” Jonas commented, “if you're the one with the performance issues, Theron, I'm sure Xaja will be happy to help you out with–”
“I will kill you dead, Balkar.” Theron glared at his roommate and former best friend, then caught Xaja in his arms and stooped to give her a dramatic, lingering kiss. She squeaked as she was pulled into his embrace, then seemed to wrap her arms around his neck and return the kiss, apparently trying very hard to ignore the whistles and chorus of “Awwww"s from their dormmates.
They finally came apart after a few seconds, seemingly trying to regain both breath and coherent thought before Xaja looked over at their audience. “Happy now?” she growled, more than a little bit of bite in her tone.
“Immensely,” Lana answered with a little laugh. “Now shoo so we can wait for our next victims. If that pre-med student Archiban comes in here next with this week's girlfriend…”
“We hate you all,” Theron announced, as he and Xaja tried to make their way to their respective rooms with as much dignity as they could muster. “Sleep with one eye open until the end of term.”
Jonas laughed, then as the pair vanished into their rooms, sobered up slightly. “I'm gonna die, but this was totally worth it.” He looked over at Arcann and Thexan. “Hey guys, can I crash with you for the rest of week so Theron doesn't kill me in my sleep?”
“As long as you're prepared to deal with Arcann's snoring,” Thexan said with a grin. He paused, looking at the mistletoe contemplatively. “... Did we overdo it?”
“Nah.” Koth laughed and stood up. “Someone got a picture of that, right? Kira will be so pissed that she missed it.”
Jonas grinned and flourished his phone. “Sending it to the group chat as we speak. And if they aren't dating officially by the end of winter break, I may smack Theron upside the head until he comes to his senses and asks her out.”

Happy May Day!
I am glad I stayed home today. I still wasn't feeling amazing. But I was able to enjoy my day. Even if I was still nauseous.
I slept alright enough. The new curtain next to my head blocks the light a lot better and while I still woke up, I was able to more easily fall back asleep. I was awake enough to be aware of James saying goodbye. And went back to sleep for an hour.
When I woke up I was a little off. But mostly I was good. I cleaned my face and got dressed. And would just wander around the house for a long time. I spent some time just cleaning up. Putting things away. I tried to vacuum but our vacuum keeps thinking it's jammed. No idea what is up with that. I would change the kitty litter though and Clorox some stuff.
I would spend time with sweetP. Just hanging out. I had egg salad on toast. I would go out to the car to get the last of my car chips. It was beautiful outside but a little hot directly in the sun.
I started working on a little painting project. Sat on the front door step and started laying out the hearts I wanted to paint on the door. The sun was a bit to bright but I have the outlines done. I'll go back in with paint soon.
I came back inside and would hang some stuff in our room. James was going to hang the last panel of wallpaper tonight so that was exciting. The bedroom walls could finally basically be finished. And I am really happy about that. I still would like to get a small rug for the floor but everything else feels really finished and that feels really nice.
We are having our little house warming this weekend and so I want the space to at least have some areas done. And I think we have done a pretty excellent job overall. Like there are still projects for sure but it's coming together and that feels really good.
I spent a long time today working on cleaning out the one fish tank. I might be getting a frog for in there. Haven't 100% decided but I moved out all of the decor and washed the rocks. Took a while but it wasn't to bad. Was nice to try it all clean.
I would answer some work emails. And lay in bed. Lay on the couch. Lay around. I didn't feel amazing. And whenever I tried to do to much I felt sick. But I kept drinking water and trying my best to be okay.
I remembered that the new labor exhibit was opening at the museum tonight. I very much wanted to go to that and me and James decided I would just meet them there. Felt like a good plan.
I had a phone meeting today with Salvatore from the national guard and it went really well. He seems really sweet. Retired military, daughter in the girl scouts, loves working with the kids. They want to get me in the schedule for sometime in July and then again in the fall. Excellent. I love working with the national guard kids so I really hope we can continue this going forward.
After my phone meeting I would catch up on April's knitting. I still need to sew down thr edges but the last 11 days I was missing is done. And I can start May. That took a while though. I had put the little screen in the studio window so Sweetp could have somewhere to sit and watch the world and I would knit and listen to a video. It was nice. I was having fun.
I made a little microwave pizza as a late lunch. And got myself ready to go to the museum. But that would not be my only stop.
My first stop was Petco. I wanted to look at their frogs and things. This Petco never has a very good selection but it was still fun to look. And I enjoyed seeing different options. I may chose to get a tomato frog? I really would like a turtle but I don't have the infrastructure (or a large enough tank) right now. But maybe that is where I will end up. I'm not in any rush.
I went to the museum next. And was very excited to see Jessica because she just announced today that she's pregnant with baby number 2!! So excited for her. It was also just really nice to see everyone else.
After giving James many hugs I went to go get a drink and ran into Margaret. Who asked if we could talk on the phone tomorrow because there has been discussion about brining me on part time to help run events. This is an amazing opportunity for me. It would be flexible hours, a pay increase, and I would get to be doing something I really enjoy! And as my grant position at camp comes to an end this would just be really great. A next step, somewhere I already love.
I would also go and find Jesse to talk to him so I wasn't going into the conversation with Margaret blind. He gave me some ideas of what to negotiate for, when I could actually start (immediately), and how Meril would also be in on this. And honestly the three of us would be such an amazing dream team the museum wouldn't know what hit it. I really hope this works out.
I really also just enjoyed talking to people. About our trip. And seeing the new exhibit! Which I think was done so well. I already know a lot about union history, but seeing more contemporary and Baltimore specific stuff was awesome. And the layout and design choices were great. I really enjoyed it.
I would hang out at the desk with James. I got some food and would watch the desk while James got some too. And it was just good. People watching. Chatting with friends and guests. It was a good night.
I was excited to come home though. A little later then I had thought but that's okay.
When we got home I would go and change. I watched my frog tank for a while and actually saw my loach. No omelet sightings today but I did see him yesterday. I also moved the very hearty snail from the other tank to this tank and I hope he's as strong in here as he has been in the other.
James is in our room hanging the last piece of wallpaper. It wasnt going super well and I left the room because I thought I wasn't being helpful just sitting there writing this. But I am going to go check on them now before I take a shower and we get ready for bed. It has been a long day. But I am feeling a little better. Still not great but not as perilously bad.
Tomorrow I have a feild trip and it's the brave bee program. I really like that one. And then I have my phone meeting with Margaret. And me and Celia just made plans to go to the Dutch market after work. I am looking forward to the day. I hope the heat is t to bad and I'm not nauseous anymore.
Wish me luck and good vibes. I love you all. Goodnight!

ID: An image with twelve panels, featuring a drawing for each month of 2022.
Thoughts on this art and this year below the cut:
January: Because I wanted to branch out from fanart a little, I decided to draw a scene of a Ukrainian girl in the wintertime. I feel like this art set the scene for how my style was going to turn out for the year, and I enjoy the vibes. Also, an honorable mention to this drawing, since I think it also set the stage for how I'd keep drawing going forward.
February: Though I drew what has to be a significant part of this year's art in January, I only drew a quick sketch of my ocs in February. I'm not super proud of this one, but I am happy that I did draw more ocs in general this year (though, most of these were confined to a sketchbook and not uploaded to dA).
March: If you want art of your rarepair, sometimes you have to draw it yourself. I also really love how this one turned out—it feels sort of cozy.
April: This one too! I love finnrey, and it honestly felt past time to draw it.
May: It feels weird that this is the only completed drawing of Eighth I've done this year, and while it's fun, I'm not thrilled with it. Six years is a long time to go off of nine lines haha. This one was pretty fun to actually draw, though, and I'd love to do the concept more justice sometime.
June: Hey, look! More non-Star Wars art! Doing even these simple landscapes helped me expand my horizons, I feel. I mostly like how this one looks, but the lane lines completely ruin the little perspective there is, so just. Ignore them.
July: This one's pretty simple, but I honestly love contributing my one Voe artwork per year, so it's going here. I really feel like I have a firm handle on her face now, and she's now a character that it's fun and comfortable to draw.
August: Also didn't draw much of anything that I uploaded here (there were many more sketches in this month), but I did have some per-usual last-minute art for Remembering Resistance day.
September: This was a…very late art request fill, but I did enjoy getting to draw the Grand Inquisitor and brush up on my fabric skills! I like this a lot better than when I tried a similar concept in 2020 or 2021, so I'm glad I'm learning something lmao.
October: This one!!!! Definitely a contender for favorite of the year, and I just love drawing Keeve, Terec, and Ceret. I actually just love these three in general, but we'll see how THR treats them in Phase III.
November: Nothing completed uploaded here, but I did do a sketch of Trilla and her commander, which you can't really go wrong with.
December: And finally, I close out with a pyreny vent piece where, of course, I feel like I did the best highlighting I've done on Pyre's armor. It was a pretty stressful few weeks, so to get a moment to draw this was nice.

mmm a cheap mini glass grinder is abt ~$150 cad on amazon which honestly isnt that bad imo as the quality? ones seem to be $400+
a soldering iron seems to be anywhere from about $20 to $300
frankly its not rly worse than any other expensive hobby i guess
mostly i think like i'd like to do some stained glass as a hobby every so often.. i did that one class years ago and it was fun but truly thr best thing was the 3d bird we did first.. the panel was boring in that the designs were all boring...
i literally have all the skills needed except for getting better at cutting glass but tbf, i think in stained glass, u mainly grind a lot.. its not exactly the same as my job where my coworker has tools to make perfect rectangles and shit
its funny to think im skilled enough at my job these days... i assembled a window on thursday and i just.. i keep thinking abt what a horrible job that was lmao what could have i done to make it better... im just.. fuck that design fuck it so much LIKE NO DONT JUST PUT OVALS SIDE BY SIDE!! LIKE THERES NO GOOD WAY TO SOLDER IT AND MAKE IT LOOK GOOD, unless like my supervisor(?) knows.. but he hasnt been in all week so ugly window soldering it was lmao

'Field of Dishonor' --A Review
If the third volume of the Honorverse reassured me that Weber was moving away from the 'rinse and repeat' formula of the first two books, the fourth volume, Field of Dishonor sprints away from it and breaks into new and entertaining territory.
Following on from the events of The Short Victorious War, Honor is returning her one time enemy, Lord Captain Pavel Young to Manticore to stand trial for his actions at the end of that book, where he attempted to run away at a crucial moment of the battle. Honor is merely taking him home and although she is going to have to testify at his trial (something she's not looking forward too), she is, for the first time, relatively content on a professional level (she's got a nice command, despite the Pavel Young headache) and very much in love with Paul Tankersley.
Young's court martial, however, drags Honor into the very thing she cannot stand: politics. The government of Lord Cromarty has a political problem on it's hands-- they cannot continue military operations against the People's Republic of Haven without a declaration of war and they won't get that if they court martial Lord Pavel Young, whose father, the Earl of North Hollow is a key player in the isolationist/highly Conservative faction of the House of Lords will block their efforts and stymie the war effort at the exact moment where Manticore could score a decisive victory.
The trial of Pavel Young splits the court martial panel down the middle. Some members are dead set against conviction, pointing out that Honor's orders were, in fact, technically illegal. Others insist that Honor could have done nothing less considering the uncertainties of the chain of command in that moment and that it is Young who is guilty of cowardice-- eventually, they find a middle ground, cashiering him out of the service but acquitting him on the capital charge that would have lead to his death.
The verdict causes his father to have a stroke and Young assumes the title of the Earl of North Hollow and begins plotting revenge against the real culprit of all his misfortunes: Honor.
Honor is reposted to the Home Fleet guarding Manticore and serving as Admiral White Haven's flag captain and does her best to ignore the barrage of negative press coverage, eventually taking a leave and going to Grayson to see to her new steading on the planet and try and get that set up properly-- the thinking being that it will let the politics of the situation calm down somewhat.
Instead, the opposite happens. Young takes over as Earl of North Hollow, votes to confound his political friends and enemies by allowing the Declaration of War to go through and thus allowing operations against Haven to continue and then sets about planning his revenge on Honor, which involves bringing in a professional duelist (Denver Summervale, from the very first book, On Basilisk Station) who goads Paul Tankersley into a duel, which Summervale wins, killing Paul.
When Honor gets the news, she flies back to Manticore and doesn't waste time: she finds out from Summervale who paid him (Young), kills him in a duel and publicly calls out Young- not caring about the cost to her professional career or the political chaos it causes- eventually, despite attempts by Young to assassinate her, she tracks him down and challenges him directly. He cannot refuse and in the subsequent duel, he is killed.
Honor is placed on half-pay and advised to go spend some time on Grayson. Manticore, she is assured, will need her again.
Overall: What an excellent addition to the series! I love this book from start to finish-- Weber has been hinting here and there about the internal political situation on Manticore and now we finally get to see it up close and personal-- but what's especially brilliant are the callbacks. Denver Summervale (from Book One) returns. Reginald Houseman, the diplomat she punches shows back up as North Hollow martials Honor's enemies against her.
Weber puts her through the wringer a bit, but she also stays true to herself at the core- even though her duty is very much tested- her sense of honor is not. She does what is right and shoulders the costs to her career and sets herself up nicely for the next book, Flag In Exile.
New question for this series: how long can Weber keep this up? Does he have a few excellent volumes ahead and then drop off a bit? That's what I'm now fascinated to see with this series. My Grade: **** out of ****
