I am so glad I waited to answer this for a teeny bit because I thought I was exaggerating at first because like. It was one voiceline right? WRONG. When you level him up he says "thank you senpai" and when I got his SR and slapped him onto my homescreen he does in fact try to get your attention and ask for help from his senpai. He's supposed to be this brash delinquent but he's shockingly respectful of one very specific senior even if he's just a bit sarcastic about it ugh.

Sho feels like he needs an excuse. He can't just ask to hang out with you because then it looks like you're friends, but if he's asking for a favor then you won't have a reason to say no. The Professors all want you to help out the ghouls so he can say just about anything and you'll jump at it, right? Yeah no that's not the real reason. He wants to have you to himself and if he words it like he needs help he can make excuses as to why you two need to be left alone.

Absolutely uses the fact that he can cook to his advantage. I think one of the main reasons Sho started liking the MC so much was because you supported his cooking. He seemed like he expected to be judged for it so when MC was just hungry and said his food was good? The only person he really seems to have cooked for up to this point is Leo (and Bonnie but she's special) so he wants that praise. And to hear you say he could charge money for it? Oh he was riding that high for ages. I feel like he already wanted to open some sort of cafe but really appreciated the support.

And it gives him the excuse to get you to stay around him longer when he asks for your help. Well he's going to cook anyway and you're hungry, so just stick around. He'll make something and pretend to complain about it but he likes feeding you. Well assuming you don't douse his food in hot sauce, though that won't stop him from making you stuff.

I really like the idea of him competing with the Frostheim ghouls idk why. I think MC should get to be good friends with Kaito and Luca and Sho should get to be a brat about it. Vagastrom and Frostheim already don't get along and he never got his fight with Lucas so yeah. He's super intense about how he's way better at protecting MC than they are, especially with Lucas. Part of it is because he feels guilty for going along with Leo's plan and almost getting you killed, he feels like he needs to prove that he's strong enough to not let that happen again.

Speaking of Leo... I sort of get the sense that Sho hides how much he hangs out with the MC from him. In book 3 Leo makes a bet that would see him getting Sho's food truck if he wins it so I sort of feel like if Leo knew Sho liked the MC he'd be insufferable about it. Honor Roll is stealing his best friend (¬､¬) how lame ugh. And he would try to sabotage it because he would find it funny, or even worse try to make Sho's friendship with you the cost of a bet. I could see Sho having nightmares about that.

Book 3. When Towa and MC go missing. I just know in my heart Sho was loosing his goddamn mind. Again I think he feels sort of guilty for almost getting you killed, and now that you aren't with his dorm you just go missing? Unacceptable where are you? How did Jabberwock fuck this up so badly holy shit. I wanna see him admit that he was worried about MC. I wanna know if he got into any arguments with the Frostheim ghouls while the professors forced them to stay behind.

... i kind of want him to argue with Jin. Like specifically Jin. For no reason other than it would be funny to me personally and like... Jin is the one who interrupted his fight with Luca so I just think it would be funny if they had beef.

So, I think it's time to talk about Sun in Help Wanted 2 and how I think a lot of people have (in my opinion) misunderstood the sass and now think Sun is some mean bully who needs a cigarette and a vacation.

Posting my thoughts under here for spoiler warnings:

I think first and foremost we need to understand that Sun has always, ALWAYS, been a sucker for rules. He had one rule for Gregory in Security Breach, which he broke and Sun banned him from the Daycare.

In the Arts & Crafts game in HW2 Sun is overly giddy and excited, a little bit anxious but clearly tries to hide it. He wants you to just follow the rules and do arts and crafts with him!

If you follow the rules, you get no mean or sassy comments and instead he gives you praises and even does the cute yippee jumps at the end.

But if you misbehave (throw things at him, eat the supplies) he gets irritated, but none of the voicelines really hint towards him being mean or sassy to you, but more of his worry about his own and your safety.

You throwing things at him: Sun sees you're making a mess, he doesn't like the mess. If you hit him with the items he often laughs at it sarcastically and tells you to stop. Firmly. Sometimes he lets out comments under his breath ("I should turn off the lights myself").

You eating the art supplies: well, we all collectively know it is not healthy. Sun obviously doesn't want you to do that either. I think at this moment he just knows you're a damn idiot since you're an adult and are eating the googly eyes. I don't blame him for getting so angry; Sun realises he is just babysitting an adult which is not something he is supposed to do.

Sun doesn't like the arts you make if you haven't followed the rules. This is where he gets sassy and mean. His rules were very simple! If anything, this just proves the fact Sun is a little goody-shoes who values rules and doesn't like those who don't follow them.

During the course of the arts and crafts, Sun is impatient. He rushes you and keeps bugging about the time. "You're taking foreverrrrrr" is my favourite line just simply how frustrated he sounds. We always knew Sun was speedy and has no patience to just sit and wait. He needs to have his hands busy because that's most likely his way to deal with his anxiety - sitting still doing nothing will make his anxiety worse, or depression, or whatever he is trying to hide.

Because that's how he is in the RUIN version of the level. Just sitting in his pillowfort, sad and depressed. Just wanting to be left alone. Too long for doing nothing, his sad thoughts and the neglect has caught upon him. He is so so sad, but let's you work on the crafts as long as you just get out and leave him to continue sulking.

He doesn't trust you. Sun says: "It's safer this way". But it might not mean that it's safer for you, but safer for him. He doesn't want to give himself the false hope of someone coming to his rescue, or he has the fear that you're a human who will hurt him again. Either of those options are just really, really sad and I think everything he went through between these two games is a worth of an analysis, but we'll leave that for another day.

In short: Sun is still the same Sun we all fell in love with, he hasn't turned into a sassy bully just because he doesn't like your art. But we need to understand he is just THAT strict for the rules, because breaking them will either get him, or you, in trouble.

Iso shrugged and chuckled, as an acknowledgement to your compliment.

“So, Iso… I heard you isolate your enemy into that domain of yours? Interesting…” you remarked, keeping your eyes trained on the target as you shot a bullet straight to the head.

Iso nodded shyly, his fingers still gripping the handle of his pistol. 

“Y-yeah… Just my way to secure a 1v1 duel…”

Oh, what the hell am I saying, Iso thought, mentally facepalming at his awkward response. He felt silly for acting awkward in front of you. To be honest, he finds you really, really beautiful. Maybe that’s the reason.

But to his surprise, you merely gave him a soft smile. 

“That is sooo freaking cool ~! Can you bring me there someday?” you asked, your tone playful and light.

Iso was surprised, his eyebrows knitting together. 

“Why would I bring you there? I don’t think having a gun duel with an ally there is a good idea–”

Warmth crept onto Iso’s face, his cheeks tinged with embarrassment at having misunderstood your context. “O-oh… Yeah, sure. I hang out a lot there even though there’s nothing much… Mostly when I need alone time to read my books or… listen to music.”

“And, having company once in a while would be nice.” He smiled, his eyes glanced at you.

“Mhmm, then I’ll be waiting ~” you replied, your curiosity piqued. You adjusted your stance, firing a few more rounds with precise accuracy.

“Oh ! Talking about music,” you continued, gesturing to the earbuds that Iso always had whenever you saw him. “I always see you got your earbuds on all the time. I assume you’re a music enthusiast, yes?”

Iso nodded, his fingers fumbling with the gun’s magazine as he exchanged it. “It helps me to stay relaxed and focused. Music has this way of grounding me, you know?”

You smiled, appreciating his honesty. “That makes sense. What kind of music do you listen to then?”

As Iso put his pistol down, he began to list off his favourite genres and artists. You noticed the way his purple-coloured eyes lightened up. You were surprised by the variety of his tastes, from classical compositions to high-energy EDM tracks. Your conversation flowed seamlessly, as Iso continued geeking over his profound hyperfixation.

“So, do you have a favourite song?” you asked, genuinely interested.

Iso took a moment to think before answering. He has so many favourites, heck, he could create millions of playlist when he thought of it. Then, a song came to his mind, “There’s this one song that I find myself going back to quite often. It’s called ‘Helena’ by My Chemical Romance.

The name caught your attention, “Wait ! I know that song ! What’s the worst that I can say ~”

Iso chuckled, he continued singing along, “Things are better if I stay ~”

“So long and goodnight, so long and goodnight.”

Both of you started giggling, which lightened up the mood surrounding the both of you.

Iso started to fiddle with his gloved fingers, his expression softening. “To me, that song carries a powerful and cathartic expression of one’s emotions surrounding the loss of a loved one, so it has become one of my favourites.”

You were touched by his description and decided to make a mental note to listen to the song again later. As you both finished up with the training at the shooting range, you couldn’t help but feel a connection forming between you and Iso. He’s slowly getting along with you, no longer the quiet and reserved recruit. 

Someone you could genuinely relate to.

As the both of you left the shooting range, the two of you talked and laughed, not just about combat training but about music, books and everything in between. His giggles caught your attention, the way he would bring up his hand to stifle his laughs. 

Goddamn, he’s cute.

You didn’t expect the training you had with him could be the perfect time to bring you both closer. You couldn’t wait to explore Iso’s unique dimension with him, discovering not just his hidden talents but the beauty of the world he had specifically created for himself.

They taste slightly better than those made elsewhere." which sounds like me when I got French MREs during my military time and that's REALLY embarrassing for him. Tease him about it and he'll scoff and look away. (his real favourite food is whatever it is you like cooking. even if it is instant noodles.)

-In public, he treats you the same way he treats his people. Honestly? Chances are you're ONE of his people. Calcharo's skills span many subsets, this includes deception. He doesn't spare you a second glance, or even a first one.

-He apologises for the above in private often in an attempt to seek reassurance that you understand. And when he gets that he's back to holding your waist and looking over your shoulder at whatever it was you were doing.

He just melts when he lays his head on your lap and you start tracing his tattoo, feeling his scars etc… just feeling his skin with your soft touch

However, it will take him some time to let you be that intimate with him. (He will flinch the first times you try to caress him, even if you warn him beforehand)

C = Cuddling (how do they like to cuddle?)

Xiao will never admit it but he likes to be cradled and held. Please let him rest him on top of you but don’t comment on it or he’ll never do it again…

When you want to be held, he’ll gladly do it, embracing you until you fall asleep in his arms

D = Dates (what does their ideal date with you look like?)

Dates with Xiao would be very peaceful and calm in general. Before being in a relationship with you, Xiao knew barely anything about dates, so he was a little nervous at the idea of having some with you. He likes to take you out to stroll in quiet areas of Liyue, where he just holds your hand and enjoys your presence and the scenery

E = Emotions (how do they express emotion around you?)

At the beginning of your relationship, Xiao finds it very difficult to show you how he feels. He has a hard time communicating with his words and prefers to use actions and kind gestures to convey his love. After some time, he gets a little better at expressing his feelings but his love language doesn’t change

F = Family (do they want one? If they do, when?)

Xiao would not be comfortable at the idea of having a family. He is the protector of Liyue, the Vigilant Yaksha and the Conqueror of Demons, he does not have time for such things. If you take enough time to convince him (you better be immortal lol) he will maybe give it a thought

G = Gifts (how do they feel about gift giving? What are their habits when it comes to this?)

Giving you gifts wouldn’t be something regular for him. It’s always unexpected and so meaningful. Xiao doesn’t give you gifts to give you gifts. He shares a part of his soul, it’s like a piece of his dedication towards you. You talked about something you liked to him? He will store this information in a corner of his mind and offer it to you when you already forgot about it

H = Holding Hands (when/how do they like to hold hands?)

In public, Xiao will never hold your hands. He’s not a fan of pda and if you just look at him lovingly in front of others he will pass away.

When the both of you are alone though, he likes to touch your hands, feel your palm and fingers with his. It just feels very intimate to him

I = Injury (how would they act if you got hurt?)

He will blame himself. Please reassure him or he’ll never forgive himself… he will make sure you’re alright and patch you up the best he can. He even would go to Bubu pharmacy to see if there is a way to relieve the pain

J = Jokes (do they like to joke around with or prank you? how?)

Xiao isn’t a prankster (shocking I know) though he appreciates humorous people and will gladly listen to your jokes with a slight smile plastered on his face

K = Kisses (how do they like to kiss you?)

Whatever you do, he will always be a blushing mess afterwards. He is the most comfortable with soft and short kisses where your lips barely touch

When you do kiss him more passionately, he just stops functioning. He will look at you wide-eyed and just won’t say a word, completely flustered

L = Love Confession (how'd they confess to you? how'd you get together?)

I think your relationship just kind of happened. He is the kind of guy to dismiss his feelings towards you until you’re literally hugging him. Afterwards he notices how much effect you have on him and it’s honestly a little scary to him

M = Memory (favorite memory together?)

During the festival season, no one used to pray to him. That’s until you came in his life, and each year, offered incense for him. He said he didn’t care that people wouldn't pray for him but when you did, something felt so special about it. It made his heart flutter and he thinks seeing you being all giddy about it afterwards makes it the best memory of you two. Even if it’s “simple” it means so much more to him

N = Nightmare (what is their worst fear?)

The mere thought of hurting you on accident makes him sick. What is his karmic debt ended up harming you? What if you saw him in his true form and were so terrified or disgusted by it that you would leave him? These thoughts could easily make Xiao spiral and in these moments he just needs you to reassure him, although he will never ask for any kind of support

O = Obvious (how obvious do they make it that they like you?)

Noticing that Xiao fell for you was quite difficult. He dismissed his own feelings for a long time and hid his emotions towards you even more. The only “clue” would have been that he actually cared for you. He would enjoy spending time with you, unlike with other mortals

P = Pet Names (what do they like to call you?)

I think pet names are one of the things Xiao doesn’t really understand about humans. You have a name why should he call you something else..? If you insist he’ll call you something like “love” to make you happy

Q = Quality Time (how do they like to spend time with you?)

Xiao doesn’t feel the need to be vocal during your quality time. Just cuddling with you in bed will already make him feel so content without the need to utter a word. It could also be just sitting outside in the evening, silently admiring how the sun goes down in Liyue while his fingers are intertwined with yours

R = Romance (how romantic are they?)

Xiao is romantic in his own way. He doesn’t know much about human love traditions, so he just shows you his loves his own way. It can be by just by discreetly sliding your hand in his (it wasn’t on purpose of course, we all believe you Xiao) or by letting you eat some of his almond Tofu without complaining

S = Secrets (how open are they with you?)

Xiao is not one to discuss about how he feels. He will open up with some a lot of time and tell you about his past, but they are some things that will remain a mystery to you

T = Time (how long did it take you to get together?)

Just getting to talk to him was a hassle, imagine getting him to realise that he likes you and that you like him back?! You better be patient because this man will take forever to get in a relationship with you

U = Unique (what makes them unique?)

As an Adeptus, I think Xiao is already pretty unique. He has a few cute quirks that will always make you smile (like eating snow). In a relationship, Xiao would be quite unique too. Since he’s not a human and knows not much about them, he handles his love for you in his own way, clumsily but very sweetly

V = Vaunt (what are they proud of? do they like to show you off?)

Like I said before, Xiao isn’t a pda-fan at all. He would be very proud of building a trusting relationship between you two but he would definitely not show it in public. Not a lot of people would even know that he is in a relationship with someone

W = Warrior (how do they feel about you fighting? would they fight for you, beside you, etc?)

He would be terrified at the thought of loosing you. Xiao probably wouldn’t even let you fight along with him, but if you were to, he would be overprotective give his absolute best.

X = X-Ray (how well are they able to read you?)

Very, very poorly… he just doesn’t get human emotions (he tries his best with you though 🥺). As time goes on, he starts to get used to your habits and gets a grasp of how to deal with your emotions. Be patient with him, he really wants to understand you

Y = Yes (how would they propose to you?)

I just imagine him doing his research asking Zhongli on how to correctly propose. Poor guy he is completely panicked at the idea of messing up. Once he’s prepared enough, he will take you to a nice calm spot under the moonlight and get on one knee. He will be so nervous during the whole evening, it would be impossible for you not to notice it.

Z = Zzz (how do they act when they're sleepy? what's it like sharing a bed with them?)

Xiao canonically doesn’t sleep, but if you were to let him rest on your chest while playing with his hair… there would be a slight chance of him dozing off… 🤫

When you’re asleep in your shared bed though, Xiao likes look at you sleeping. He prays he doesn’t come of as a creep, but seing you so peaceful just does something to him

Just little details I found while playing Kaveh's hangout event.

And just my thought about these two after Cyno's second story quest. Cuz I'm in awe and I can't stay silent.

Anyway, soooo

In Kaveh's hangout event, you have an opportunity to walk around Alhaithams home (which Kaveh also call home?? but i might be delulu).

There is a main entrance, which leads to a living room. Here, you can see a table, sofas (? not sure if it's the right word.), bookshelfs. But when I first played the main storyline, I missed some details in Alhaitham's house - back then, I didn't give it much thought. Well, there are a lot of books, books are everywhere, and... decorations? vases? Ok, whatever. Suddenly - a pair of musical instruments?

Oh, wait, the table? There are two pairs of cups (for coffee?) and wine glasses. And.. A lot of fruits. Maybe I'm delulu, but, in Kaveh's voice-over (in "favourite food", to be specific) was stated:

"Oh, I'll never say no to fresh fruit". Just like in a scene from Cyno's second story quest:

- "Can you see if the cookies are still on the table?" - "The are. And so are the fruits"

After that Kaveh appeared on a screen from the right side of the house, where Alhaitham's.. Office? Study room is located? Whatever. I'm sayng, besides that office, there is no other room in the right side of the house.

And, well, there isn't much about that office. It's.. Lots of books, a table, which also contains books both from outside and inside. Pretty much in Alhaitham's style.

But I wonder what's this thing on the left of Alhaitham's table? Kinda looks more like an architect's tool. Maybe it's not, but there is just another thing in this room that makes me think that way:

A smaller table with two seats🤨 , that has a coffee cup and a coffee maker and..of course, fruits. Wait a minute. A camera? It's... kinda out of place, isn't?

Why a camera tho? May I assume that this is Kaveh's camera, which he uses to take.. idk... references for his projects? Or, maybe, which he uses to get better undrstanding of enviroment for his projects?

Idk. But if Kaveh has his own room, why his (possible! maybe they are not) belongings (and fruits!!!) are located in Alhaitham's study room?

In Cyno's SQ 2 we had a scene with Kaveh and Alhaitham having a casual conversation (gossip flavored one 🤭🤭🤭). A the start of it, we have Kaveh looking for wine glasses, which he washed. So, there has to be a kitchen, right? Anyways

In the left side of Alhaitham's house we have two more doors. One with yet ANOTHER bookshelf and second, with a painting on a nearby wall. Let me assume that books are leading to Alhaitham's bedroom, and the painting is leading to.. Kaveh's room? (cuz in "A parade of providence" Kaveh stated, that he does have his own room) But that raises a very important question. where the HELL is the kitchen and bathroom? 🤨🤨🤨

ANYWAYS. It's just nice to see these two blended in eachother's life, since their first interaction in main story quest was.. erm... kinda uncomfortable to watch. But I should note that in the beginning, we didn't know much about both Kaveh and Alhaitham, and so we had zero clue on why they were acting like this.

Later we got Kaveh in the game and his voicelines, "A parade of Providence" event, and, oh my god, Cyno's 2nd story quest. It was my last straw, because now I want to make a comic about kavetham\haikaveh, but I still have to learn a lot about these two. Especially Kaveh. Cuz if I'm being honest, CURRENTLY I relate more to Alhaitham and the way his brain works. My past self, tho, would relate more to Kaveh and his feeling of guilt, struggles as an artistic and idealistic person, but those are quite dark times in my life, even my memory is kind of blurry\toned sown 💀💀💀 So it will take time to explore Kaveh's character.

i hope that he'll play an important role in the story in the future. it feels like the game is slowly setting up an overarching 'people vs aeons' narrative, and, based on what we know about luocha, he would fit into that kind of story really well (of course, i might be completely wrong, and the story could take a completely different turn).

i'm sad that we barely know anything about him, the xianzhou story ended on that big cliffhanger... at least one thing's sure, HE IS NOT A MERCHANT OF ANY KIND, SO WHY DOES HE KEEP TALKING ABOUT HOW HE'S SUCH A LEGITIMATE MERCHANT IN HIS CHARACTER VOICELINES???
