ok ur soo real for that though, ik what u mean cuz only if for a night is similar it’s like… goddess entity.. it’s very haunting and i love that, i think “haunting” is a good way to describe some music i like… like to me hydraganeas (i did not spell this right) sounds haunting.. but also i like a lot of more hip hop/rap and then rnb style things… but yeah ppl can like whatever they like and that’s why there are so many different styles of music, there’s truly something for everyone<3
i forgot about cosmic love!!! i rly like that one too and dog days i think was my first florence song… some of the others sound familiar too, i will try to listen to them too!!
i think if i did an angst series id do it for tall line with n,n’s “crave”, “honey”, and “buck”… and do like one song per member.. im thinking anton, eunseok, and sungchan in that order with those songs but also idrk because sometimes im too ambitious. cuz i really don’t even know what the plot would be, likely just a lot of yearning lmao.
for kpop songs i love a lot of older songs too… i see u reblog f(x), i loved f(x)…😥.. i liked red light era the most possibly… some of my faves were nu(abo) or wtv it’s called😭😭, and i loved everything on red light, pink tape, and 4 walls😭😭😭 i loved shinee too :(, exo as we talked about… um also some random groups i liked were secret, dal shabet, fiestar, tiny g, madtown, c-clown (i was shocked to learn that rome is dpr ian i had no idea they were the same person), ukiss, i liked i.o.i a lot when they were around😓😓 gugudan, pristin😭😭 i was into twice a lot too at the time, really obsessed with my wife nayeon :((
now i like sooo many groups but they’re all pretty much 4th and 5th gen.. and mostly bgs :( ive been listening a lot to the new all (h)ours album lately, nct wish’s songbird, ateez, tws, and wayv!
what about u?
- 🥟 anon
HAUNTING YES, It's such a great word to describe how I like my music.
Hahahaaha I totally get what you mean, I have a ton of ideas but actually writing them is a whole different thing. I have storylines, I have plots, I have things that I simply want to make fics, and then they just stay like mere ideas because I move onto the next idea 😭, I have like 50 songs I've been meaning to make fics too, there's one I particularly feel sad for not doing which is touch tank by quinnie, it was the perfect song for an Anton fic but I left it abandoned too 💀, it also had a ton of yearning and it was just all about swimming (because oh surprise I was a swimmer) and I wanted to put one of my most precious childhood memories because I KNOW it was romantic as fuck even if I never had nothing with my irl friend, it was purely a fic for me but that I was sure a ton of my big girlies would've loved.
I wanted to put a lot of things about growing up with a swimmer body because I was literally the nightmare for both athletes and chubby young girls, I started becoming broader but at the same time I wasn't losing weight and to add more pain I was also always the tallest kid there, not only between girls but with everyone my age 💀 (you can see why I'm so into talking about beauty standards 💀💀💀)
Wtv I just hope that I get to read one story from you I'm sure you'd do a great job with your ideas and your great mind ❤️‍🔥
I loved f(x) so much, I've always been a SM Stan so I suffered so much when I saw my babies not releasing anything anymore, 4 walls is still one of my favorite songs ever and I remember being obsessed with the MV! I don't know tiny g, mad town or c-clown but I loved secret and fiestar too 🩷, U-kiss was such a special group for me too, they, B.A.P, MBLAQ, teen top and Nu'est would always sound in my playlists 😭, then I liked Winner and Ikon but we all now how YG is... (I still miss 2ne1).
Lately I've been really into Ateez, I never expected to like them this much, I heard about them more than once but they never caught my attention until I saw a reading about this mingi guy and it really sounded like me so I started to think who the fuck are these guys and THANK GOD BECAUSE I LOVE THEM (Yeosang is my current bias wrecker 😭). I haven't listened to their entire albums but I know the most popular songs and I've been putting those long fan playlists to find what I like the most. From other groups I've been listening to Boy next door, but I don't really like them like them, they're not really my style 😭 but I like their music a lot, it's really fresh and I have to admit, they know how to follow a concept! Zb1 is been on my radar too but my problem is I can't say I stan a group unless I find a charm on each member and in both cases I'm just there for the music 🫠, I like certain members (in bonedo no one tho, in zb1 Zhang, Hanbin and Matthew) but just liking a few is not enough for me, in Riize's case I didn't doubt to fall in love with all of them from the minute I saw them, however I have to admit that lately I've been getting a bit distant (maybe that's also a reason for my block?), idk, I miss Seunghan a lot and I haven't liked much their recent songs (boom boom bass is dope tho, I finally adore the song and have been repeating it every day), and I just... I just need more. I need to feel obsessed, to feel my body burning when I see them, my heart jumping when they dance and this desperate yearn to see more of them, but with the pass of time I've just felt the flame going down 😭.
I miss having more of everything. I'm not into moderation at all, so I'm the kind that is all of nothing, once I truly enjoy something I need it until I hate it or until I can't like anything anymore, if I like a tea you'll see me buying 20 bottles to have in storage, if I like a book I'll read everything else the same author writes, if I like a brand I'll go and get what I want, so in terms of k-pop i also need all of it until I can't digest anything else, I need more songs, constant fiction, long stories, a bunch of interactions between them, I just need to be satiated and I haven't been feeling it these days 😭, I still like them of course, I Stan them, but I still think there could be more 🥺.

I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED
(no literally Rachael reminded me about this and sent it to me so i could add to the list)
i have SO MANY feelings about kpop and we're gonna cover a pretty wide spectrum of stuff here including some classics that still stand the test of time that you may or may not have heard if you're newer to kpop. all of these groups i recommend more than just these mvs, but these are places to start if they're groups you haven't listened to so let's gooooo
Monsta X
youtube
fave song by my fave group first, obviously i'm gonna start here. Monsta X is an insanely talented group and just everything they do is great? they have so many bangers and especially now that they're writing and producing most of their music themselves, they're constantly thinking outside of the box with style and song structure and just. i love them so much and i love this song so much. you literally cannot go wrong with them. they're one of the few groups with multiple no skip albums for me. absolute kings.
Bigbang
youtube
wanna talk about groups i have feels about? i already had so many feelings about Bigbang, and GD's new songs plus the performance at MAMA this past weekend have had me crying 3-5 times a day the past few days so we're gonna go with this anthem. Bigbang was my intro to kpop in 2008 and so much has happened and things have changed to say the least but just. the grip they have on me and always will. this song goes hard and has almost 700 million views on youtube as i write this for a REASON.
2NE1
youtube
MY QUEENS. no girl group can or will ever top them for me. sorry not sorry. icons. that's all there is to it.
SHINee
youtube
i did say i had been a kpop fan since 2008 so you shouldn't be surprised this list is 2nd gen heavy so far. i deeply love a lot of newer SHINee songs too, but View is the jewel in the crown that is SHINee's discography. one of the most talented groups that's ever existed, in all ways- dancing, singing, production, composition, styling, everything.
NCT Dream
youtube
you ever hear a song that gently pokes you in a bunch of your emotions including the nostalgic and sad ones but still leaves you with hope and a sense that everything is gonna be better and like the future is bright so it's okay to be optimistic? Broken Melodies soars.
NCT 127
youtube
returning to the harder faster heavier beats vibe of the first few songs in this list. 127 covers a pretty wide spectrum of styles like a lot of groups, but this is the stuff i gravitate towards the most so here we are. uhhhh i don't know what else to say about this pick or these boys. i just really love NCT and all parts of it and this song was in my top 5 songs on Spotify last year despite not coming out until October so that should tell you how good it is. yes.
Oneus
youtube
Oneus has finally started getting the kind of recognition that they deserve and Luna is the song that cracked that for them. they're masters of mixing traditional sounds with modern kpop styles and have done it more than once. this song is rare in modern kpop also for the fact that the entirety of the song is in Korean without a single English lyric through the whole thing. it's gorgeous.
Onewe
youtube
Oneus's brother band (literally, there's a pair of twins split between the two groups) definitely deserves more attention too. their music is fantastic and their vocal blend is top notch, and Dongmyeong (their half of the twins!) plays KEYTAR how could you possibly go wrong?? they let themselves get covered in water for this MV and drowned a bunch of copies of their actual equipment, no nice instruments were harmed in the making of this mv.
A.C.E
youtube
do i have a deep love of underrated groups? maybe yes. the styling in this MV is INCREDIBLE, even if the song wasn't phenomenal it would be worth watching it just for the outfits, a stunning blend of traditional Korean clothing mixed with modern cuts, fabrics, styles, and accessories. it's just so cool and everyone looks so good.
WayV
youtube
listen i'm sure we could debate on whether or not WayV should be on a list like this but they're part of NCT and they're essentially just a mostly Mandarin singing kpop group. they release a lot of their songs with Korean versions (like Frequency which literally came out today and has only a Korean MV) and they live in Seoul and they perform on Korean music shows and etc. whatever. just listen to Phantom because it's incredible and they're beautiful and this MV is dripping in spooky vibes and luxurious outfits and men being entirely too pretty for their own good.
if you try any of these out and you want more recommendations about a specific group let me know! it was really hard to pick specific songs for this list.
also if you're curious about what's going on with this whole NCT thing and its subgroups (NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, and the others i didn't include in this list) then stay tuned to my posts because i'll be posting a redo of my guide to getting into NCT soon!
now go forth and listen and enjoy things! and also, if you want, reblog this with your picks and recommendations and loves! sharing is caring after all 💖🌟
kpop sampler
my dear @auriette was asking about my non-skz kpop feelings, and i have so many of them, so i thought it would be fun to make a little playlist.
i'm sticking with the 10 link limit (which is v hard) but if you also have a lot of kpop feelings, please rb with a song/group rec of your own!
in no particular order:
The Rose (k-rock)
youtube
i love them. They are super funny on social media, and their music is incredible. Screaming this song at the top of my lungs fixes me a little every time. Woosung is also a soloist and he's amazing.
WOODZ
youtube
This song gives me the shivers.
He also has a cover of Hype Boy that is A+
The duality of man.
I think WOODZ is vastly underappreciated, and i wish more people were as into him as i am.
Ateez
youtube
i know i already talked about them a little bit, but i have to do it again because i love them. just a bunch of insanely talented, stupidly hot weirdos. i love that they're all nerds who make legos together and that everyone but hongjoong and jongho have zero concept of personal space. wooyoung and san are medalists in the kiss your homie olympics. (woo is also bffs with changbin and also yeonjun from txt)
i'm still obsessed with this song and this MV. the ateez lore is very intricate and this is basically cinema.
TXT
youtube
insane dance skills, super talented, great music. it was hard to pick which song of theirs to include here, but this is defintely a favorite. def check out devil by the window" also.
they collabed with the jonas brothers and anitta and both songs were incredible. yeonjun just released a solo album. more talented goofballs. i love them.
OnlyOneOf
youtube
i am obsessed with OOO. they are incredible. they do most of their own choreo, they committed to making their MVs queer af and include messages of acceptance and support for the lgbtq community in the notes for all their videos. they paired themselves up and talk about kissing each other casually.
and they back it all up with high concept MVs, insane choreo, and great music that will absolutley get stuck in your head. picking a song was hard, but this choreo is too iconic
Hwasa
youtube
i am obsessed with her. she is also in mamamoo, who are great, but i am currently absolutely obsessed with her cover of lunch. but this song which is a pretty direct call out of the rampant body shaming in the industry is so much fun.
KARD
youtube
kard is the only mixed gender kpop group i know of, and we need more.
they are all adults, and their music and MVs are, too. killer dancey tracks. their friendship is a lot of fun.
BM is also a soloist, and has some very explicit horny songs that don't bother with the (barely) innuendo that kard plays with. he's also hilarious on SM, and on the daebak show
Enhypen
youtube
they're just good. i love a concept album, and they killed it with this.
Evnne
youtube
i love them.
they were all on boys planet, and i love all the groups that formed from that show (i was going to cheat and make a whole playlist of bp groups, but i'm just going to share this one and i'll make a whole separate bp post)
this video and song are just so fun, and they're so good, and i wanted to yell about them.
(all the boys planet boys are also stray kids levels of obsessed with each other, which i appreciate --zb1 is probably the worst-best about this, but they're all super close)
oh gosh only space for one more... ahhhh who to choooose
Blitzers
youtube
this is just so much fun
no one really sounds like blitzers. the horns and big band elements are wholly unique and fit surprisingly well. they are super talented and clearly having a good time with what they do, and it's just a good time.
I hope you like at least some of these songs/groups!
(Now, to play by my own rules and not add another ten in a reblog unless specifically asked to do more!)
Please add your favorite kpop/krock groups to share the joy of good music that we can all be super normal about together!

Hey! I'm the 2nd gen anon that sent you the ask the other day. I agree with what you said especially the thing about social media.
For the past few years, I've been wondering why I fell out of Kpop because at that time, Kpop was gaining more attraction. I think the first reason would be that many older groups were disbanding. Then, it would be the presence of social media (toxic fans are the loudest). Other than that, I couldn't get myself into the newer songs. I remember thinking that the reason for this was due to newer songs being too westernized. However, foreign producers have been making songs for Kpop artists for a while. Over time, I noticed that a lot of the newer songs (even non-Kpop songs) don't have full choruses. The songs are mostly focused on the beat and the title of the song is repeated in the chorus. I don't hate this type of music but I tend to get sick of it quickly. A lot of 3rd and 4th gen groups are coming out with this kind of music now which makes sense into why I couldn't get myself into them. Even when my favs, which are 2nd gen and early 3rd gen (I actually regard them as 2.5 gen because they had similar styles to 2nd gen) come out with songs that don't have full choruses, I rarely listen to it.
I know in my previous ask, I did say I stopped being a Kpop fan at one point but I did still listened to my favourite Kpop songs as well as trending songs. I don't think I can ever stop listening to Kpop or music in general. I guess you can say I just became a casual listener. I'll check kpop news from time to time but that's it. I couldn't keep up with the fandom.
I don't know if you ever felt this way before but I feel bad for not putting in time for my favs or ults(?). What I'm talking about is things like streaming and voting. Luckily, my favs don't really care because they've been in the industry for a while but I still feel guilty because streaming and voting is a form of supporting the artists you love.
Sorry for the long ask. It's just hard to find 2nd gen fans on Tumblr. Also, thanks for bringing awareness about mental health. Like you said, it's sad that such tragic events have to happen in order for us to bring light to an important topic. With this, I hope people will care for the mental health of others and themselves.
I definitely agree with a lot of what you said. And thank you for dropping in again! I personally don't like songs where the structure is "skimped on", e.g. not having a full chorus, or several lines of lyrics being just the same word or phrase repeated over and over. Although that said, "Sorry Sorry" and "Ring Ding Dong" are what got me into kpop and are the most iconic songs ever and you can't tell me otherwise lol.
For me personally, rediscovering Super Junior and SHINee after 7+ years of not keeping up and being a casual listener was like a shock to the system. With Super Junior it was like, hold up, you mean Kibum, Hangeng, Kangin AND Sungmin are not in SJ anymore?? And with SHINee it was like... how can we go on without Jjong?? And hold on, Taemin is now the biggest solo artist of all of them?? TVXQ was now only Yunho and Changmin and the rest had left?? It was so much to take in.
When I was coming back into kpop circa late 2017, besides BTS I wasn't that thrilled with what I arrived to as a 2nd gen fan to be honest. Monsta X and KARD were a breath of fresh air, as a proper very EDM focused and a mixed gender group, respectively. Musically though, aside from BTS it was VIXX I loved the most and they sit awkwardly in the time line, somewhere between 2nd gen and 3rd gen. They're usually considered 2.5 gen.
It was sad learning about everyone I knew from 2nd gen that was disbanding or not active (f(x), 2NE1, SHINee were just recovering from Jonghyun's passing at the time). But at the same time I was thrilled that so many were still going strong. I felt i could relate to them because I was getting into that later-twenties stage where I was worrying about getting older, but I was comforted knowing my 2nd gen idols were growing older with me, they were already a few years ahead of me and still rocking it.
You see, with feeling guilty about not streaming and voting, I didn't really experience that. When I was an early kpop fan it wasn't even possible to vote outside of Korea so I never felt like I had missed out on these opportunities or let my idols down. When i got into kpop again I did take advantage of the fact that I could stream, vote for MAMA and vote on some music shows. I never felt guilty though because I knew that the majority of these voting drives were for the younger fans, who didn't have full time jobs, families or that many responsibilities. So I always felt I was doing my best as a fan in moderation, without sacrificing all my time, money and sanity.
With 4th gen, I don't even bother with voting. Some people might say that makes me a shitty or lazy fan, but my ults are 2nd and 3rd gen, and I'm only one person. I know 3rd and 4th gen have loads and loads of young fans who do the streaming and voting better than I ever could. I just stream on comeback day and enjoy the music, and buy the occasional album. When I was a young fan I had no money at all, I couldn't buy any albums or go to any concerts. So I don't feel guilty because I can do more now as an older fan than I ever could before to support my idols. I save my voting rights for my 2nd gen faves who aren't as popular anymore, because I know it would mean much more to them to still win awards this late into their careers :)

aside from bts, what music do you like? I noticed some of ur fics are music inspired, and I was wondering what u listen to
*deep breath*
Grew up on heavy metal, rock, punk, j-pop (including anime music and video game music), got to high school and this was when k-pop was super popular, so I got into k-pop. My favorite major artists are BTS, Arashi, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot.
My favorite BTS songs are ‘Dionysus’ and ‘Baepsae’ (I obviously like a lot, if not all the songs they’ve ever made, but I’m talking top favorites that describe my personality lol). My favorite song ever written by a BTS member is ‘People’ by Agust D.
other artists I like k-pop: SHINee, ONEWE, TXT, Super Junior, BIBI, MAMAMOO, CHUNGHA, 2NE1/CL, ITZY, KANG DANIEL, SuperM, NCT (yo, idk how many groups are under this umbrella but all of them I guess lmao) j-pop/rock: ACID, Frederic, the GazettE, lot of anime music by too many artists to list specific anime/video game music: literally ALL music from the Persona series, Prince of Tennis music (yep, the anime), Animal Crossing music (like hello??? best vibes), League of Legends music (not Japanese but it’s good) american artists: 30 Seconds to Mars, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, Linkin Park, Rise Against, Sum 41, Twenty One Pilots, Papa Roach, Murderdolls, Wednesday 13, Trashlight Vision, My Chemical Romance, Evanescence, Hollywood Undead, Troye Sivan, Taylor Swift (I bet you’re surprised but she’d a good lyricist)
there’s a lot more, but I tried to keep it short. XD just because I didn’t list your fave here doesn’t mean I don’t listen to them. I probably do, lol
if I’m listening to a band, I’m usually interested in the drummer / bassist / guitarist more than the actual singer (at first anyway) LOL

Charlotte, what are your fave kpop songs? I need recommendations!
ok SO the thing is: I’ve been into kpop (on and off) since like, 2007-ish, so there’s a lot there. This will be a very, very long list and I hope you’re ready (and that tumblr doesn’t fuck this up for me) Things I did include:  -Older songs  -Songs/artists you already know (for the sake of keeping it a general rec list)  -Jonghyun (RIP) -more SM Entertainment artists than I like Things I did not include:  -certain groups like Big Bang for reasons I won’t get into rn -Japanese songs by Korean artists because wow, we’d be here way longer still.
I definitely mostly listen to the really bouncy happy stuff and less to like, ballads and more serious songs, but I’ll try to keep it a bit balanced. These are otherwise in no particular order, and I’m also not going to comment on every single one.  Sidenote: the first groups I ever listened to were TVXQ(/DBSK), Super Junior, and - since their debut! - SHINee, so those groups are very nostalgic to me personally.
SNSD - I Got A Boy  SNSD - Gee SHINee - Dream Girl  SHINee - View  - this song is truly iconic, I love it so much SHINee - Lucifer SHINee - Tell Me What To Do - ngl I listened to this one a lot after Jonghyun died and it definitely still has that connection for me. Still, it’s a good song that I feel deserves some more attention.  Taemin - MOVE  Epik High - Fan - (TW violence, abuse, loud screaming, death) Epik High - Wannabe Epik High -  당신의 조각들 (Feat. 지선) ITZY - Wannabe  Blackpink - BOOMBAYAH  Blackpink - Lovesick Girls Sunmi - Gashina DBSK  - Hug - ICONIC. For real, I saw seventeen sing bits of this the other day.  DBSK - Mirotic - I know I say ICONIC a lot but uh. ICONIC.  Super Junior - Sorry Sorry - another one of those songs you regularly see other idols copy Super Junior - Wonderboy - this is very niche lmao. It’s the OST to their movie. There’s a lot there that I won’t go into rn.  2NE1 - I Am The Best 2NE1 - I Love You NCT 127 - Touch Stray Kids - Back Door  Stray Kids - Miroh  LOONA - Why Not  LOONA - Butterfly  LOONA / ViVi - Everyday I Love You - I know we always talk a lot about Heart Attack and New, but I actually really like this song too.  Jonghyun & Taeyeon - Lonely  Lee Hi - Breathe  - this song and the Jonghyun one are beautiful but they also make me very emotional, especially around this time of year. (RIP Jonghyun. You did well.)
Seventeen - Oh My  Seventeen - Very Nice  Seventeen - Thanks Seventeen - HIT Red Velvet - Peek-a-boo - this video is. so gay. I love it.  Red Velvet - Ice Cream Cake BTS - Blood, Sweat & tears  BTS - Spring Day  BTS - Run  TWICE - What Is Love - iconic and kinda gay, lbr TWICE - Likey Holland - I’m Not Afraid + I’m So Afraid - actual out gay kpop idol being iconic at everything he does Mamamoo - Egotistic - this video isn’t gay, but I sure am. (I AM LOOKING RESPECTFULLY) Mamamoo - Decalcomanie  Everglow - Dun Dun  Everglow - Bon Bon Chocolat EXID - Up & Down  - iconic dance. very uhh. suggestive. video.  Brown Eyed Girls - Abaracadabra Lee Hyo-Ri - U-go-girl Chung Ha - Gotta Go Anyway, I can keep going. In fact, literally every time I said ‘I’m going to take some songs out’ I actually added like 3 more lmao. Just so you know: I have over 130 songs saved in a playlist on spotify, and that’s not nearly everything I know/like. There’s probably plenty of groups/artists that I do know and like but just forgot about right now.  But I hope this has some songs you like! Take your time with them, and let me know when you find some you like or find something you want to know more about! After 13 years in kpop world, I’ve picked up lots of random information.

hi~ i really like your writing so i'd like to make a request. headcanons of bokuto, kuroo, and akaashi with a korean gf 👉👈😳. i don't know how much you know about the culture so i'll list a few things but if you need more just say so!! but you should def look into these a lil further. korea is pretty involved in the fashion scene. couples usually wear aesthetic matching outfits. we're also known for our music and dramas. for rlly formal stuff females wear a traditional dress called a hanbok.
✿.。.:*☆.:*:*:.☆*.:。.✿.✿.。.:*☆.:*:*:.☆*.:。.✿.
☆*.:。.✿ 𝕡𝕒𝕚𝕣𝕚𝕟𝕘: Kōtarō Bokuto x Fem!Reader;   Tetsurō Kuroo x Fem!Reader;   Keiji Akaashi x Fem!Reader
☆*.:。.✿ 𝕡𝕝𝕠𝕥: em bois with a korean gf 🥺
☆*.:。.✿ 𝕘𝕖𝕟𝕣𝕖: fluff uwu
☆*.:。.✿ 𝕨𝕒𝕣𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘𝕤: swearing
☆*.:。.✿ 𝕒/𝕟: I listen to k-pop so often eye- I am the biggest Mamamoo stan, I also love twice, red velvet and (G)I-DLE songs. And ehhh, Everglow and ITZY-- Tbh, some of BTS’ songs are also good soooo. But 2ne1 will be forever queens, change my mind
I also watch a lot K-Dramas! So if you got some good K-Dramas which I should watch, pls recommend 🥴✌🏻
Thank you really much anon for this super sweet request, I hope I didn’t do any mistakes, if I did, pls correct me, and I will correct it ❤🥰
I hope you like those Headcanons!
Each character has about 205 words
☆*.:。.✿ 𝕞𝕒𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕝𝕚𝕤𝕥
☆*.:。.✿ Headcanons:
Bokuto, Kuroo, and Akaashi with a Korean S/O:
Bokuto:
I AM 100% SURE HE FIRST WOULDN‘T NOTICE
He would be so blinded by love, he also wouldn’t notice your accent (if you have one)
BUT he would notice that you are not Japanese! So once you tell him that you are Korean his heart goes oasdjfdf
I have the feeling like he would listen to twice and his fave song is likey
So once he finds out that you are Korean he would ask you so many questions about everything
He really wants to know about the culture, after all his girlfriend is Korean
He would def try to learn Korean just for you, but uh, he would fail pretty much lol
So you two have to watch K-dramas with subtitles for him
He is so impressed whenever you talk on Korean like it’s the hardest thing!
He issa puppy uwu
If you are wearing a Hanbok he might cry cuz damn his gf is so pretty and he is so whipped for you :(
Would sometimes match clothes with you, and is also really impressed by how pretty your clothes are
He would go to twice concerts with you and would probably scream louder than you do cuz he is the bigger fangirl
Kuroo:
He knew already that you are Korean from your first and last name
But is still somehow surprised???
1000000% sure his fave song is Lion from (G)I-DLE
He already knows a few things from the culture and flexes with his knowledge so much omg
Sometimes he will tease you and say weird Korean phrases he learned??
K-boo much??
Probably
N E WAY
Is totally into K-Pop after you show him a few more songs
His fave band is probably stray kids idk why just accept it
If you don’t agree on going to a concert with him
He still takes you to one so uh just say straight up yes
Matching clothes isn’t really his topic doe
He loves your style though! It’s just not really his taste I guess?
But he likes K-dramas!
He doesn’t love them since they are a little cheesy sometimes but uh- Yeah
Learns a few easy phrases like “You look great” and “You are beautiful” etc. to make your heart flutter
He loves how you speak Korean, it's so different from how others speak Korean yk
You wearing a Hanbok would make his heart flutter so much cuz omg you look stunning and you are slaying it
Def does not take many pictures 👀👀
Akaashi:
This boy is a big Mamamoo stan, his fave song is “Wind flower”
He knows more than Kuroo does about the culture since he did much research and memorized everything you said about the culture
He always tries to match your clothes cuz he thinks it’s the sweetest thing ever omg
He also loves K-dramas so much, he would just cry with you over a heartbreaking scene
Every time it rains he thinks that Kim Shin is sad thanks to Goblin wow
Learns a lot Korean and he is actually really good!
Impresses you once he suddenly started to talk Korean with you
He will go with you to and concert you like, he doesn’t actually care which group it is but pls to at least once to a Mamamoo concert with him
He will go with you shopping so you two can buy sweet clothes!
You in a hanbok? He loves it
Will tell you that you look stunning and he will def also wear maybe once a Hanbok! (yk for males lol)
Also, another side note, I have the feeling like Akaashi would buy you a few albums from yourfavoritee groups to your birthday since he memorized it all pretty well

@pastel-kpop thank you so much for the tag sweet Ayesha ❤️
. how are you feeling today? I’m tired, need to fill my energy cup.
. what is the best thing that happened in 2019 so far? i’ll list three in no particular order: i met these two wonderful human beings @jongin-be-my-jagi and @thedeviousdo. you changed my year, i’ll be forever grateful ❤️ my sister came back from a year away in China, i missed her so much ❤️ and last but not least, i was able to start writing my thesis again!
. fave song at the moment? I don’t really have a favourite song at the moment, but i’ve listened to Dynamic Duo’s 먹고하고자고 Eat Pray Love everyday for the past week, so maybe it qualifies? ^^
youtube
. last movie you watched in the cinema? A Herdade (The Domain).
. fave movie? i have a lot of films i love, but i’m gonna go with Nausicaä of the Valey of the Wind.
. fave tv show? so many! Sense8, You’re the Worst, Stranger Things (s1), Westworld, Friends, Mr.Robot, Peaky Blinders, Game of Thrones, Insecure, Fleabag, The Outlander (particularly s1), My So Called Life, Freaks and Geeks, Dear White People, The Americans, How i met your mother, Big Little Lies, Girls... i’m probably forgetting a lot of important ones, but i’ll leave it at that.
. tv show you’re watching currently? i’m actually watching Running Man, a korean variety show. it’s hilarious and i need the laughs.
. fave season? do i really need to chose?! i love all of them! [okay if held at gun point: winter.]
. dream job? something that excites me and challenges me both in a creative/artistic way and in an intellectual/rational way. i need both the mathematical kind of challenge and the deep emotional moving feels that come from art. if you know what profession that is, please let me know!
. fave anime? all the Ghibli movies i’ve seen (and probably the ones i haven’t also!), Your Name, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Orange: Mirai. Sailor Moon and Rurouni Kenshin are my fave 90s anime.
. fave color? i can’t really chose one, for i think they are all so beautiful! [but if held at gun point i’d probably say white]
- what languages do you speak? portuguese and english. i understand spanish well enough, but my accent sucks (mainly because i’m too self conscious!). I also understand french if spoken slowly, but i can only talk enough to get me to places.
- what languages do you want to learn? i want to improve my french, learn japanese and korean. and maybe russian? i love new alphabets ^^
- dream vacation? Scotland (the highlands), Japan, South Korea, Iceland. ugh, i also would really like to travel with a backpack from Russia to Southern Asia, meeting those traveling tribes in Mongolia and going where ever the wind blowed me to.
- if you could listen to one album for the rest of your life, which one would it be? ‘Total Life Forever’ by Foals.
- what song got you into kpop? [it wasn’t a song it was a pair of perfectly winged ears] i guess the first kpop song i liked was 2ne1′s I am the best, but what got me here was Overdose, Monster and Growl from EXO (i heard them all in the same day an i’m not sure which did i hear first!)
- are you watching kdramas? what was your last kdrama? the last kdrama i watched was When the Camelia Blooms.
- your ultimate kpop party song that brightens up your mood always? The One by EXO-CBX is always a mood lifter ❤️
youtube
- last song you listened to? right here, by Keshi ❤️ i love it so much!
youtube
- what is the one thing you have most in common with your bias? i think Chanyeol and i are both very emphatic humans. we feel things very deeply, both the positive and negative emotions. we tend to absorb the energy of a place or give our energy out to those around us. it can be very draining, but it also makes us kinder. and like him, i used to carry my heart out on my sleeve, open, naked, ready to feel, to love and unafraid to do so. unlike him though, i’ve had to bring some shields out and hide my cracked heart for a while. but loving him has made me stronger and slowly i hope i feel ready to show my heart again. another thing i believe we have in common is the tendency to fall into addictive patterns, like when he gets fully absorbed on a specific manga, hobby or activity. for instance when all he did was work out, or the bowling phase, the archery phase and now the basketball one! ^^ he’s obviously a very artistic person. i think i am too. i’m not nearly as talented as he is, but i have a high sensibility to art. that being said, we have a lot of things that are completely opposite! some of them are things, that up until now, i really disliked in a person. but i’ve come to realize they are things i need to learn (and maybe develop a little!) in order to became a better human. and the most weird thing is that i love these things in him! like his hyper activity, his competitiveness and his strong ego. oof!~ this was a lot! sorry, i could talk about him for days! ^^
I’ll tag @xiuminscheeks @sasshunontheloose @kyungseokie @oh-krismas-tree @starchild--27 @ohsenhun @bacon-notbaekhyun-jaehyun-mingyu @byunfirstlady @paranormalkaitivity @guitaristbfjae @saintloey @jongin-be-my-jagi and @thedeviousdo only if you feel like doing it ❤️

ITZY - DALLA DALLA
[6.56]
The most views for a K-pop debut ever, but are they our new fave too?
Jessica Doyle: Well, it's the second reincarnation of 4Minute's "HuH" to emerge in two weeks, albeit with more musical ideas than the first try. The nods to constant surveillance in the video are worth a few thoughts, I suppose. It's hard to get excited about a debut with the refrain "we're different, we're different" when my first response is, "Well, if you mean 'we don't group-shout as well as Twice eonnis,' then sure." [4]
David Moore: Itzy grab a shard of a Hailee Steinfeld song and build it out again with frills and squiggles and rah-rah, hip 'cuz it's square. I don't know about the empowerment in the messaging (drippy from what I can tell -- "Keep your head up! Keep on dreaming!"), but the clatter and clutter in the sonics is its own sort of liberating. [7]
Alfred Soto: The grime motifs, mostly the distortions, and the rhythm changes work as ends in themselves, yet Itzy insist on adding, "I love myself." Damn straight. [7]
Thomas Inskeep: A refreshing change of pace in girl group K-Pop: "Dalla Dalla" translates as "Different Different," and these five women are proudly proclaiming their difference/s and independence. Fittingly, the track is hard electropop -- think Skrillex's first flirtations with pop -- with rap breaks folded into the batter, and Itzy sells it; their delivery matches their lyrics. Is this the start of a new era for girl group K-Pop? Dunno, but one can hope; this is a fine start. [8]
Nicholas Donohoue: There is the idea of fusion genre, a form of flattening some disparate elements in two or more genres and accentuating more friendly and harmonious elements to create an interesting and less off-putting product and style. You could call "Dalla Dalla" a fusion, but a more apt description might be patch job. The rate at which it shifts from its baseline to a more hard-edge hip hop, then to pure pop sweetness, then to cheer squad, then back to its baseline, makes it hard to consume because it never gives itself time to appreciate a feeling. [4]
Stephen Eisermann: Bubble-gum pop, but electric is a genre I didn't know I needed. The ladies of Itzy sound confident, assured, and like they're having a blast while singing to this song about how different they are. I'm not sure that I buy that they're that different than most K-Pop girl groups, but they certainly seem like they're having more fun. [7]
Joshua Minsoo Kim: Consider me floored: not since Weki Meki's "I Don't Like Your Girlfriend" has a K-pop single featured audacious genre-blending that played a crucial role in driving home its lyrics. In thinking about why "Dalla Dalla" works, I kept coming back to Why Don't We's "Something Different" and Hailee Steinfeld's "Love Myself." The former is a relatively anonymous boy band track that fails to impress because the group is too underdeveloped to have any recognizable personality; you can't convince listeners of your individuality when your music doesn't have any. The latter is a self-love teen pop anthem that succeeds because its chorus is a blaring wind tunnel that invites listeners to scream its "I love myself!" mantra without fear of anyone listening. Itzy combine the two ideas and sell it by going full girl crush concept; they encourage others to love themselves by flaunting their own uniqueness. Realistically, Itzy are too new to be understood on a quasi-personal level, so this methodology circumnavigates that issue with ease. There are flashes of early 4Minute and 2NE1 here (that "no no!" is a dead ringer for the latter), but the gimmick-free trap breakdown situates "Dalla Dalla" in a post-"BBoom BBoom" 2019. When the song begins, an elevator bell is heard to catch your attention, and it leads into a series of dubstep wobbles -- less "Bubble Pop" than "Night," though. Out first impression of these girls is that they're fierce, but it's only fully realized when they return to that sound after a bubblegum chorus. "I love myself!" they chant, and it's done with such fervor that one can't imagine a time when they were ever reluctant about declaring it. The bridge finds them explicitly extending their arm out, becoming cheerleaders for those who are afraid to express themselves. While their hopeful messages to "Keep your head up!" and "Just keep on dreaming!" would be enough on their own, the elastic tug of the beat embodies just how dead-set they are in ensuring your breakthrough. Incredibly, the final chorus returns to this exact beat, as if to announce that this -- this level of palpable confidence -- is something you could achieve. They exit with a final elevator ding: a cocksure grace note that serves as a reminder that one day, you might actually get on their level. [8]
Alex Clifton: The production on "Dalla Dalla" is disparate and messy, but it also... kind of works? I have no idea what's happening here. We go from 2NE1-style rap to a sugar-sweet chorus that rivals "Russian Roulette" to a screaming bridge that recalls Twice for some reason and I can't say any of the transitions are smooth, but it definitely stands out. Intellectually I think this is too jumbled for me to really call this a song I like, but I played it three times in a row trying to puzzle through it and I found something new and weird in each listen. It's not straightfoward in the slightest, but I do like maximalist bonkers pop songs, and I can't say that "Dalla Dalla" disappoints in that respect. [5]
Iris Xie: I get chills when I hear the instrumental shift into a sudden seismic snap at 1:50, with Yeji yelling "My life! I will live my own life! Don't you care!" The production disorients the listener and forces them to enter her defiance spatially for a split second -- her voice echoes in sharpness and the bass drops incredibly low, resulting in a bouncing effect that encloses you in the sudden sting of her defiance. Despite teen pop being in existence forever, I have never heard an accurate, sonic portrayal of what it is like to be an sassy, angry, defiant teenage girl that is absolutely fucking sick of people dictating how she is supposed to be, and pushing back hard with a cathartic forcefield fed powerful by the strain of expectations, all the while without putting down other girls. The intensity of that drop alone already sets this song above so much teen pop I've heard before. In addition to this, the 17-year-old me is so completely envious that this song only exists now in 2019. Back in 2009, the main active girl group I was aware of was The Pussycat Dolls, and funny enough, "Dalla Dalla" sounds like the more sophisticated little sister to "When I Grow Up." In their DNA, they both have the haughty and ambitious vocals, intricate but pumping flourishes, incessant warped synth and vocal hooks, and a stomping demand to be admired and taken seriously. But in contrast to "When I Grow Up," which serves as an aspiration to be admired sexually by men and a devotion to the attainment of fame, both which reinforces of PCD's "tough, sexy unnies" image, "Dalla Dalla" takes the breezy assertiveness and focuses it on a joyful, lush, and punky self-love, serving as a model for other teens to take strength in their brash and unapologetic confidence. The girls don't give a shit whether you find them attractive, their presence is not for your comfort or consumption. From a pop perspective, this song also glosses and refines the experimentation that we've heard before in other k-pop songs, like the mashup of styles for SNSD's "I Got a Boy,"while adding sorely needed complexity to other usual boring takes on self-love. The part at 1:42 is astonishing, because it fixes all the problems with Momoland's "Boom Boom" mid-track interruption, by not overstaying, and using it to prove a point, "I'm not sorry I'm bad!" which hints at the agency of a young teenage baddie's socially transgressive agency. That descends into the aforementioned snap of "My life!" that drops into bouncing minor chords for just a second, before resuming their cheeky, bright energy. We hear that again in the bridge of "Keep your chin up! We got your back!" The vocal overlays are such a powerful way of amplifying both a positive self-thought while also giving the sensation of girls cheering on other girls, which is sorely needed representation in a world replete with examples of competitive, internalized misogyny. Overall, this song moves me, simply because I can just join in and yell without hesitations because "I really don't care!" without having to think twice. (well, not completely.) [9]

this is my running list that i have kept in my drafts all year of things that i wanted from kpop in 2018. some are kind of vague but honestly which groups were “successful” and which weren’t is really obvious because the “unsuccessful” ones just didnt come back at all ugh
long post here we go
things i wanted from this year:
-success for wjsn: my girls got a win and their best-selling album yet so we’re on a roll now. but im somewhat worried because a lot of it comes from the new fame of c-line and between you and me i...dont think theyre ever coming back. prove me wrong yuehua.
-success for loona- is a debut mini selling over 50,000 copies success? ya know there are people that will say that based on how expensive and long their debut project was that everything was a flop and loona’s doomed but i dont really think that way. when lookin at it strictly as an actual debut they did great. i love my girls.
-success for clc- we’ll never know if anything could have come from a comeback after black dress because CUUUUUBBBBEEEEEE but im not salty or anything nooooo
-success for dreamcatcher: happyface and i think the girls themselves realize that their concept will never be mainstream but ya know what? my girls had a good year! they’re working hard and building a fanbase and theres nothing more i can ask for really
-someone please pay attention to sonamoo please: FUCK TS
-same for gugudan this is depressing: i dont know how their last comeback did but it seems like they kind of staying the same which is sad because gugudan probably ranks the highest of post ioi groups in terms of raw talent and consistently good music. stan my girl nayoung.
-weme and pristin to actually get non-controversial actually good title tracks so we can put all of that to rest (though i’d die for wee woo don’t fuckin try it):  crush was well liked so we got that but FUCKIN PLEDIS OH MY GOD IM SO MAD IDEC THAT GET IT WAS GOOD THEY DIDNT GET A NON-CONTROVERSIAL TITLE TRACK THEY DIDNT GET ON AT ALL and NO PRISTIN V DOES NOT MAKE UP FOR IT FUCKIN PLEDIS anyway
-news on after school….any news…free them…: WELL lizzy is was freed and kaeun is in limbo (more on her later). now all we need is eyoung to be freed and i can sleep better.
-news on secret: the news is that TS is a shitshow but what else is new. at least hyosung and jieun were freed.
 -FX COMEBACK- GODDAMNIT
-Shinee to be happy and healthy: this is sort of a wish because i can never really know if they’re happy but in terms of what i can judge aka content this was a great shinee year. minho solo when
-9muses comeback PLEASE: got a great kyungri solo debut and it aint over till hyemi says its over but please one more comeback PLEASE
-aoa comeback: FUCK ALL OF THE HATERS BINGLE BANGLE RULES AND U ALL SAID THEY WOULD FAIL WITHOUT CHOA HA
-hello venus comeback: LOOK i know fantagio is a mess but they managed to gave their other groups a comeback COME THE FUCK ON
-for companies to just stop kidding themselves and disband dal shabet and bestie: with woohee gones dal shabet is over and im pretty sure bestie’s company doesn’t exist anymore so i guess thats solved
-solji to come back to exid: YEEEESSSSSS OUR MOTHER AND QUEEN IS BACK
-more non-taeyeon snsd solos (and a taeyeon one too thatd be great): fuck solos we actually got lil touch i didnt see that coming at all. oh AND a bunch of solos too snsd had to die so snsd could live i guess.
-any post-ioi group to get a win: Dia and wjsn!
-ladies code comeback (or at least a hint at group activity): the hint came from a christmas song so i should be happy however i am unsatisfied.
-t-ara news: the news is theyre being secretive in between solo work c’mon hyomin give up your plans
-fiestar news-disbanded and im still sad
-brown eyed girls comeback: someday...i have hope...i know they want to...
-LEE HI COMEBACK: FUCK YG but that goes without saying
-deleted a stupid one sorry gyus
-yoongi singing: lol im not even into bts anymore but i still like yoongi and seesaw is still a banger great job my dude
-kaeun to get into the produce48 group: hmph. normally i wouldnt be worried with her high place and the hype like it should be easy to give her something to do right? however this is pledies we’re talking about so i can only hope that what lizzy said and the rumors of her joining a new girl group come true. argh why pledis id even trust her with cube over them look at soyeon
-girls day comeback: see brown eye girls above
-a not terrible produce 48 group k at least put hitomi in it: I love izone i got over my hangups with the lineup real quick and now cringe at grown-ass adults still going off about a fourteen-year-old. like y’all. you can stan the group its fine they’re nice and talented girls. i swear. you’ll like them. hyewon is my queen. i still find wonyoung too young to connect with (im finding now that im too old to truly bias any idol under 16 or even 17. yujin is fifteen but she’s near the middle of my izone bias list.) but ya know what? its fine. theres 11 other girls to like. la vie en rose is a bop. sakura i love you. that is all.
-PLEASE EX 2NE1 MEMBERS DO SOMETHIN; minzy’s touring and bom of all people seems likely to release solo work before cl but like. its sad man i dont really consider this one done. fuck yg.
-fuck an fx comeback someone just tell me if they’re alive: can i even answer this one i dont know i think i was mad when i wrote it
-some kind of jbj/ibi like group from produce 48: Nope, probably unlikely due to the difficulties of getting any akb girls over there (i follow all of the contestants on instragram and they all seem pretty busy like miu and sae and miho and miru have actual shit to do). but i can dream.
...
alright out of approximately 30 wishes (i cant count) about half of them (i cant count) were at least partially fulfilled. this year was great for a lot of groups i like but not really for my 2nd gen and post-ioi faves. all of my absolute fave stuff came from groups that didnt even exist last year- fromis, idle, and izone.
how do i even react to all of this im feeling to many emotions. moral of the story: fuck kpop companies the end

Songs I like and songs I dislike from my favorite K-Pop groups
Only title-tracks, since I don’t know the whole discography from most of these artists. The songs I like are not necessarily my fave songs by these groups, but examples of the kind of music I enjoy the most in contrast to songs I’m not able to get into. That’s why I tried not to put the same songs I shared in previous posts, since there’s several songs I love from the same artist.
PS: My taste is so random sometimes, don’t judge me lol
2NE1
Like: I Love You
Dislike: Fire (sorry, there’s something about it that really annoys me; iconic tho)
2PM
Like: Come Back When You Hear This Song
Dislike: Hands Up (actually the only part I don’t like is the chorus; the rest is cool)
4MINUTE
Like: Cold Rain
Dislike: Hate (it starts soooo well... but the chorus is too in your face)
AFTER SCHOOL
Like: Shampoo
Dislike: BANG! (I really don’t understand this song... like it doesn’t make sense in my head idk)
AOA
Like: Short Hair
Dislike: Elvis (as much as I love them, for me this is annoying from the start)
AKMU
Like: Melted
Dislike: How People Move (I just don’t like this kind of sound...)
ASTRO
Like: Always You
Dislike: Breathless (I don’t really dislike it, but it’s my least favorite Astro song)
B1A4
Like: Lonely
Dislike: Baby I’m Sorry (THAT AUTOTUNE PLEASE)
B.A.P
Like: Hands Up
Dislike: Hurricane (it was my first BAP comeback and I never got used to it; the loof tho :’D)
BEAST/HIGHLIGHT
Like: 12:30
Dislike: Breath (the problem is the chorus... again)
BIGBANG
Like: Tonight
Dislike: Fantastic Baby (okay you can kill me now. I have to say that there was a time when this song grew on me, but no, it’s not my type of music at all)
BOL4
Like: Travel
Dislike: Tell Me You Love Me (it’s not a bad song... I just find it too cheesy. They don’t really have bad songs, so I had to put the one I like the least xD)
BOYFRIEND
Like: Janus
Dislike: Love Style (this was hard af cause they have BOPS. However, the instrumental is too loud in this one and that throws me off)
BLACKPINK
Like: Playing with Fire
Dislike: Boombayah (this is the epitome of what I like to call YG’s in-your-face style; love the pre-chorus tho)
BLOCK B
Like: Her
Dislike: Shall We Dance (I love them, but this... No. Just... no)
BTOB
Like: Thriller
Dislike: Irresistible Lips (okay let me explain: BTOB has developed a very unique and personal style, so I think this song sounds too generic, although it’s not bad)
BTS
Like: Save Me
Dislike: IDOL (ok,’ i’m not even gonna explain this one, come on, hate me as much as u want ^^)
CN BLUE
Like: I’m Sorry
Dislike: Cinderella (too poppy to be a band that plays actual instruments, sorry)
DBSK/TVXQ
Like: Wrong Number
Dislike: Balloons (catchy af but completely unnecessary lol. Moonbin and Chanwoo rock this shit)
DAY6
Like: How Can I Say
Dislike: What Can I Do (I don’t dislike any of their songs cause I LOVE their whole f*cking discography, but this one’s my least favorite)
EXID
Like: Up&Down
Dislike: Hot Pink (I never got into it, sorry queens)
EXO
Like: Love Me Right
Dislike: Call Me Baby (I think it’s been overplayed. That bridge tho)
FTISLAND
Like: Pray
Dislike: I Hope (Not a bad song, but after kick-ass songs like Pray and Take Me Now it feels tasteless)
F(X)
Dislike: NU ABO (I don’t like the beat)
GIRLS’ GENERATION
Like: Hoot
Dislike: Oh! (I find it kinda annoying, their voices are too high)
GOT7
Like: A
Dislike: Stop stop it (I think it’s too plain...)
iKON
Like: Killing Me
Dislike: Rhythm Ta (the only thing I like about it is Bobby’s rap and the pre-chorus)
INFINITE
Like: Paradise
Dislike: Come Back Again (since I don’t dislike a single song from them, I’ll just put this one here bc it’s my least favourite)
KARA
Like: Pandora
Dislike: Mamma Mia (I don’t like the chorus and I don’t know why)
KARD
Like: Don’t Recall
Dislike: Hola Hola (that instrumental chorus doesn’t convince me)
MAMAMOO
Like: Starry Night
Dislike: 1cm (Taller Than You) (I never took this song seriously tbh)
MBLAQ
Like: Mona Lisa
Dislike: Smokey Girl (I don’t really have a reason... This song’s kinda bland to me)
MISS A
Like: Hush
Dislike: Breathe (Sorry, but I’ve always found it terrible; probably the only song I don’t like by them)
MONSTA X
Like: Beautiful
Dislike: Rush (My least fave, that’s all)
NCT 127
Like: Limitless
Dislike: Fire Truck (My least fave; the bridge is magnificent tho; and Yuta has a line... the good old days :’-)
NCT DREAM
Like: We Go Up
Dislike: Chewing Gum (Too childish but couldn’t stop replaying it when came out lol)
NU’EST
Like: Love Paint
Dislike: Action (it seems too generic to me)
N.FLYING
Like: Awesome
Dislike: The Real (I don’t dislike it, but I don’t especially like it either. I prefer their other songs)
PENTAGON
Like: Runaway
Dislike: Gorilla (I slept on them bc I didn’t like their debut song... Stupid, I know)
RED VELVET
Like: Red Flavor
Dislike: Rookie (sorry, overall the song is nice, especially the bridge, but the chorus is just annoying xD)
SEVENTEEN
Like: Oh My!
Dislike: Check In (the MV is gorgeous as the boys, but something’s off with the song to me; the only svt song I don’t like tbh)
SHINee
Like: Hello
Dislike: Ring Ding Dong (see, this is ICONIC, but it’s not the type of song I normally listen to, mostly bc it gets into my brain and makes me crazy)
SISTAR
Like: Alone
Dislike: Cool (the song itself is not my style, but aside from that I think another reason I don’t like it is because I see tha akward booty dance in my head when they say “cool” lol)
SUPER JUNIOR
Like: A-CHA
Dislike: Mr. Simple (the only thing I like about it is the bridge, my favorite in K-Pop <3 the song overall is too much to me)
T-ARA
Like: Number Nine
Dislike: Bo Peep Bo Peep (Not to be mean, but if this is not the MOST annoying kpop song ever I don’t know what is and honestly I don’t want to know)
TEEN TOP
Like: To You
Dislike: Rocking (I find it too noisy; the footwork tho)
TOPP DOGG
Like: Arario
Dislike: TOPDOG (I cringe to the spelling I guess; still kinda epic)
TWICE
Like: What Is Love?
Dislike: Signal (I just can’t stand it)
U-KISS
Like: Standing Still
Dislike: Bingeul Bingeul (this just bingeuls me up lol)
VIXX
Like: Error
Dislike: Chained Up (It’s not a bad song and I used to like it, but I grew tired of it. They don’t have bad songs that I know of so I had to put something xD)
WINNER
Like: Love Me Love Me
Dislike: Everyday (Too much unnecessary auto-tune, sounds artificial and forced </3)
WONDER GIRLS
Like: Be My Baby
Dislike: Like This (I just don’t like this, never have, and I don’t know why)

What girl groups do you like? Do you like Sunmi or Hyuna?
So as far as girl groups I follow very few (I’m one of those assholes 🙅🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️). 2NE1 was/is a fave, I still love my Queen CL. Wonder Girls ❤️❤️❤️. Love Amber solo but only listen to like 2 f(x) songs... Current rotation I ALWAYS enjoy hearing CLC, Mamamoo, and Blackpink. Umumumumum I like a few songs here and there by Red Velvet. The only 4 min song I ever got into was Hate....it feels super random when it comes to girl groups for me. I’m just not consistent. Is the second question like I only get to pick one? Lol. I mean, I listen to them both. I like some Hyuna songs, but I wouldn’t claim to be a stan by any means. If I had to pick one it’s actually Sunmi, hands down. One of the few female artists I listen to regularly. Gashina I listen to literally once a day and her vocals on Heroine are angelic. I need more from her 😫

I still feel glad about sorta getting you back into kpop. I know I'm absolutely not the main reason but I still like to think that I encouraged you to do that. I'm still quite busy but if you want, you can assign me some sort of a group to get into. I feel like I've pushed you into checking some groups out even if it's your choice to do that. One of the groups I've been giving more attention to is Ateez, though it's mostly through watching random videos. I like doing stuff like this because it gets my mind of other things and can be relaxing even.
Kpop anon
Oh you've been a big help with your suggestions. They've been a great jumping off point! AleXa led me to some of my current favorites with her dance compilations.
Hmm hmm. Aside from TVXQ I'd have to say SHINee was my next favorite. They were actually the first group I ever got into. I haven't watched anything since Jonghyun passed, because it felt too hard to, but I really want to get back into their stuff. They're about to release a new album so I think I'll start there. So maybe check out their stuff if you're not familiar. I have been listening a little of one of the members' solo stuff. Taemin. His song Idea is really good.
And I didn't get super into them at the time when they debuted, but from what I remember about them, you might like Exo! They have a range of styles.
As for girl groups, my fave was 2ne1 and then Brown Eyed Girls. 2ne1's I am the Best is still such a jam. And Sixth Sense by Brown Eyed Girls is intense with a really cool, deep concept video.
