For her dress, Im not even done with it. I wanna add patterns that represents her and the kingdom but idk how to execute it outfit wise atm. Plus, I wanna fix some problems I have with the dress, mainly the middle and top part as well since it really reminds me of FS! Asha and I dont really want that and wasn't trying to go for that 😭

The hair was pretty fun ngl. I got to see a ton of styles in box braids and they're all really pretty :D. I simply went for the pulled back box braids since I thought it fit her well design wise.

The crown was the easiest. I was just simply looking at crowns from medieval times and I kinda got reminded of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, And the Wardrobe. Specifically the ending where the kids got their crowns.

I felt like it just fit her design wise. But that probs just me being a sucker for flower crowns right now smh 🤦‍♀️

Going back to the dress, I was heavily looking up Spain Outfits from medieval times including some other ones, like the French outfits for example, mainly as inspriation for the outfit so I can come up with my own design of a dress for Asha :D

The rest of the dress kinda came from my pencil, I was just sketching until the design looked right to me and then was like: YES haha

I did look at her early concept version's of Asha as well, but it was only for her hair, since it is always the hair I have trouble with

(plus this is one of my fav styles I see Asha in from the art book lol)

Idk if this will be her ACTUAL FINAL design, but ig it is a part of the process of my overthinking :')

probably the biggest surprise for me in the New Game! manga are those colored pages you get once in a while. technically they're so above the level of what you can find in similar situations in other manga, and actually work to elevate the art style instead of just being a gimmick. I mean look at this:

as a counterexample to illustrate what I mean,let's consider Mahoako: the lineart is one of the best I've encountered recently in any manga, but the execution and color schemes on the covers feel very awkward and mismatched to me tbh.

the barely noticeable aura of light around the characters in those bath scenes???? the general approach to lighting??? the elegant low-contrast linework??? the post-processing?? and the color schemes are amazing. all of this adds up to make them work as independent pieces of art you could put on display as a poster/home screen/etc.

anyways go read New Game! it's a slice of life about a gamedev studio, and it has very light and tasteful yuri undertones^^ the only downside so far is that it has a few moments of that tired old anime cliche of women being inherently prone to talking about diets and losing weight which feels pretty distasteful for me due to some previous life experiences, but it's thankfully a rare occurrence. besides that, really good manga for sure!

Hmmm I've gotten asked this a few times! I feel like my trollsona Darcey is a perfect representation of me, she embodies my interests and my hobbies tbh. I don't know if I'd make another troll to represent me, I COULD if I wanted more accuracy but I don't think I wanna. Darcey is very 80's coded and into roller skating because in real life, that is me! I also tried incorporating my style some in her casual fits. The only difference is, I'm not a great dancer but OH I wish I could be! 😂 In my mind Darcey IS me

I've thought about it and if I did decided to make an alternate sona that represents me and my life...she would be a pop/rock troll that does witchcraft? Color palette with grey, purple, black. Halloween theme going on also since one of my fav jobs was working at a Halloween store, also my house has year round spooky decor. My style is pink and hearts one day and spiderwebs and bats the next. Having an alt sona would be kind of fun I think! But I don't know if I'll do it 😆

Finished the second book the other day. Funsize wasn't in it as much as I hoped he'd be, but I liked him a lot. I wanted to see how he'd look in the Dreamworks style. I also made him look a bit more roughed up and grimy than he is in the book, for character design as well as adding oomph to his arc even if it's short. Since this takes place 2 years later, I gave J.LOh the hoodie he had in at the end of TMOS. it's cute.

One day he took the wrong tunnel coming back to the trash pit, which ended with him getting sucked into a paper shredder. Even though he managed to hear it and slow down, he was going headfirst, and one of his siphons got caught in the blades. His arm also got caught when he instinctively reached out to stop his fall.

Like most adaptations, Home included, I did not so much headcanons or fic as a slightly alternate take on Funsize.

The idea was that after Bish left, he got cocky with his excursions. He quit using/making his maps under the assumption that he knew the ducts well enough, but you only have to be unlucky once.

The blades were short and they don't have arteries in their arms (headcanon that in a nutshell, boov can't bleed out unless an artery is hit. Their veins contract reflexively when exposed to dry air, but their arteries can't are you feeling the autism yet), so it wasn't fatal, but FS did get cut up pretty bad. He was blinded in one eye, and his siphon is unable to grow back due to his generally poor health living in an underground landfill. Even if FS improved his health somehow, he'd still have to remove the scar tissue, which is extremely painful without surgery especially for wounds this extensive.

Funsize's siphon has its own slew of problems. His balance is terrible, and since it's basically torn down the middle, clipping it shut isn't really an option. Mostly, he just steals various antiseptic/saline products from people's houses if he can find any, but he still gets sick from time to time.

FS learned his lesson though, he's very careful when venturing out, and he built the little hover stools as a safeguard if he does fall down the wrong way again. He’s still bitter abt everything (and maybe a little unstable tbh) but thankfully, he’s an optimist.

but the weirdest part is that this is coming from someone who LOVES antoine. he is legit my 5th fav character in the whole franchise. they literally both just serve as comic relief characters but idk antoine is just so much better to me. i think a lot of it is his design and VA tbh. but lowkey they did my man dirty later on in S2 becus the two episodes that mainly focused on him were the “odd couple/robbecca”, in which his house gets invaded by sonic and then he gets chased by a horny ass robot. this then lead to him just screaming the whole time (also his animation style change wasn’t my cup of tea either). this is like the equivalent to a squidward torture episode LET MY MAN CATCH A BREAK 😞

okay anyways back to dulcy sorry this just turned into an antoine ramble

but yeah i feel like she is there to just help the freedom fighters get to their destination faster and be a “new type” of comedic relief, one that isn’t really driven from fear like in antoine’s case. i also will admit that she’s probably more useful than antoine seeing as though he can’t fly but legit i still could not give two fucks about her. maybe it’s the lack of a personality and the randomness factor idk. and this is a more serious topic but istg if people think i’m hating on her just becus she’s a woman like the whole lanolin situation imma be so upset. i am afab myself and my first fav character is amy so like don’t even try to tell me that 😭 i would never stoop so low to say some of the awful things people say on twitter about sonic women (…or just women in general sometimes).

ALSO i’m solely referring to dulcy in SATAM, not the archie comics. based on videos i watched i remember she had a pretty big story arc and then was later rebooted as a normal sized mobian. i’m sure she’s much more bearable there cus i trust ian flynn but i haven’t actually read those for myself. double also i still have like 4 episodes left of SATAM to finish so if she possibly can somehow get better in the span of 4 episodes than ig i’m wrong

🌛- Do you prefer the DCA in your AU to be biblically accurate or blorbofied?

Oooh that's a hard one, actually. I think it really depends on a lot of factors���I think having them blorbofied makes it a LOT easier to handwave things, but Biblically Accurate is a FUN challenge since they’re so limited on ways they can express emotions outside of tone and body language.

I think in all the AUs I partake in and the couple I’ve thought up I prefer the blorbo style, but for The Color of Your Eyes (TCoYE) I will likely stick with Biblically Accurate for a good while since I love the restrictions it brings—and one huge theme for that AU/story is how love and affection is expressed in a multitude of ways (both to the self and to others), especially when the reader discovers that they are not quite as human as they once thought :)

Abyssal Lights by @phoenixdaneko is a classic Mer AU with a neat twist—the reader is a mer themselves! Phoenix does a lovely job in pulling you into the events and I’m always weak to Mer AUs (there’s also several other fics by her and they are EXCELLENT so definitely peek around when you’re done)

The Personal Care Unit series by @justaduckarts is so cute and adorable where Sun and Moon are personal caretakers for the reader and it’s so fucking cute. The link is to what is already posted—smut, but delicious smut—but I’d definitely subscribe to the AO3 to be alerted for more!

Oh oh and I also must mention Lost in the Astral Seas by @cosmicfleurs, it’s another Mer AU but the designs for the boys are so good and I’m not sure if there’s a fic yet for it (please correct me bc I must read it immediately) but I absolutely suggest taking a peek at those gorgeous designs and giving a follow!!

this is genuinely a really tough question. i'd say it's a tie between richie and pete from npmd. i'm torn because i LOVE richie with my entire heart but i know that pete and i would be BEST friends irl and i just love everything about his character. (I haven't seen NMT so i mean joey's pete specifically) and NPMD is 1000000000% my favourite show! i do really love TGWDLM but nerdy prudes has my entire heart and soul and always will!

Kira Kira al a mode - this one is about food.....which is so awesome it's about how food provides happiness and if you don't put love into the food you make then the world becomes sad....( they also run a cafe similar to Tokyo mew mew ) they are also based on animals :3

Nah it's okay haha 1) Actually, there are a lot of them haha buut from my favs I can recommend Sinix Design, Jackie Droujko, Marco Bucci (mainly the basics of the color theory, probably one of my fav channels when it comes to explaining things), Ethan Becker (he has hmm a specific kind of humor but he's really good at explaining things when it comes to simplifications in art), kuroshiro (videos with useful tips for CSP)

There is also Marc Brunet, Proko and moderndayjames but these videos, especially on the last two channels, are very technical and theoretical, I think. I appreciate their work, but I quickly became bored with the amount of information 😭

Oh and Loish. I looove her style, colors and compositions 😭 But, she is only on Patreon (tbh I think it's worth the price). But even without that, as I said, there is a lot of free help on yt.

2) And nah, I don't use them. Unfortunately, I changed the names of some of the brushes to make it easier for me to work, so I don't remember the exact names of the ones I use. The best thing to do is just check which ones will be most comfortable for you to work with ^^

I tend to dislike a lot of my drawings over the years xD so the majority of them I’m going to share are the fav ones I still like so far or didn't get frustrated about. I think I have enough hindsight on them.

These are more personal works (2021-early 2022) because he’s my original character and inspiration. I like the lighting and his face.

I like the atmosphere and colors on these pieces. I spent a lot of time on Ranni fanart doing all details and hands (I don’t like drawing hands, still struggling tbh) Also I rarely draw landscapes now, the ‘deep sky’ one is from 2019. I use references for my drawings and this one came from my imagination/dreams, so yeah, I'm still happy about it.

Another creations are ‘comic style’ ones. Each time I had so much fun. DMC5 is the one I enjoyed the most, especially because I expressed myself a lot through the colors here.

And to finish (old) traditional drawings. Before starting digital art I used to do pencil portraits like these or tattoo designs and looking at them makes me want to get back to it ^^

(Jokes aside, when a single person is complaining all of that it doesn't show his legs, doesn't give him the same silhouette as default skin, doesn't emphasize his torso or proportions in exactly the same way as his default skin, they don't like the type of boots and think it should look more like his other boots, not blue enough, uses Sumeru elements instead of an exclusively Khaenri'ah or Monstadt design... I can't take it seriously, because it sure sounds like they just want his default skin, maybe in a slightly edgier color palette. Or want to have a ✨ new skin for their fav ✨, but don't want him to look any different at all.

And of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but soo many of these people state it like these are OBJECTIVE FACTS that are OBJECTIVELY BAD traits and mistakes bc they personally don't like the design choice. When they can just use the default skin if they're upset it diverges from it 😅. Though I don't want anyone to be disappointed and it's too bad they didn't get what they want, that's... how new content works. Preferences exist, I'm afraid, and I for one am incredibly pleased!)

Anyways I think all the complaints that hinge on his legs etc are very silly bc you can switch skins and look at his sliver of boob whenever you want.

I can see why they would prefer a more Khaenri'ahn-only theme, but I think HYV is really hitting on the hints that Kaeya has Sumeru blood in him (and I still want a 5-star kaeya someday that goes all out on the Khaenri'ahn wardrobe hehe let me be delulu)

I will say that Khaenri'ahn clothing so far is very modest. Bodies are fully covered from the neck to feet, usually with loose tunics. Dainsleif just has a fitted top that lets him show the shape of his upper body. These people wouldn't enjoy the idea of a traditional Khaenri'ahn outfit on Kaeya as well if what they're after is seeing more of Kaeya's body now that I think about it...

I think Kaeya enjoys being a little extra on what he wears, like adding accessories and using various types of fabric on one outfit. If I were him and had 2 different nations with large cultural differences in style, I think I'd pick the more extravagant one too lmao (the nation of freedom told him its ok 💅✨️)

as for the complaint on the pants and lack of boobie window, well, the disappointment is fine tbh, people still have preferences, and being let down by what will be released is understandable because it does not fit their tastes. It's the way they (imo) over-reacted that made it really funny to me. I've seen some say it's not well-thought-out (despite the details and references) and is just a ploy to pull players back to genshin (it worked lol. good for hyv for knowing what sells).

I guess I don't see the need to justify what you don't like, especially if it leads to weird arguments and reasoning?

A simple "it doesn't fit my fantasies/tastes" would suffice, i think

At the end of the day, the outfit is supposed to look different from the usual attire, and it successfully did so and went beyond my personal expectations!
