Paul McCartney singing "Blackpool" in the backyard of Abbey Road Studios during the recording of the One Hand Clapping sessions in August 1974.
According to Paul this song is about girls measurements or something. Uh huh sure, Paul, but can you explain yourself here:
I like em heavy (bites lip) and tall (looks up shyly at camera) Don't like em skinny and small (looks down)
Yeah, just keep shouting out random numbers, we'll definitely buy that this is about women!

One Hand Clapping is a cute as hell 1 hour studio documentary with some comments from Current Year Paul. The whole thing gels together when you realize the director wanted to fuck Paul really badly. Linda outshines her husband easily, she's SO beautiful, holy god. See it this weekend!!!

Just watched the one hand clapping sessions movie and it was absolutely insane??? The amount of musical greatness you get to watch unfold in 240p, not just Paul but the others too and the entire time they’re the most British fucking people you’ve ever seen in your life. Geoff Britton talks and the Union Jack appears behind your irises I swear and they’re all SO sweaty. Paul in his little yellow dress tunic, all greasy and sweaty and very fuckable looking, talking to the orchestra conductor who’s wearing a full tuxedo. Every time Jimmy or Geoff were talking my dad turned to me and said “that guy has a massive drug problem”. Vibes only, 10/10

As a PSA - there were no previews at my screening. It started right at showtime.
A theater full of Paul fans on a Thursday night warmed my heart ❤️ ❤️❤️
& God damn, he’s talented. Effortlessly. Coming off him in waves. Sometimes it still knocks me back.
I’m really glad older Paul recognizes just how great he was during the wings period now.

Well, it didn't matter. He'd had enough. He wasn't going to try to understand anything anymore. He was going home.
Except that wizards can never go home.
This is one of the ancient and deeply meaningful sayings about wizards and it says something about most of them that they have never been able to work out what it means. Wizards aren't allowed to have wives but they are allowed to have parents, and many of them go back to the old home town for Hogswatch Night or Soul Cake Thursday, for a bit of a sing-song and the heart-warming sight of all their boyhood bullies hurriedly avoiding them in the street.
It's rather like the other saying they've never been able to understand, which is that you can't cross the same river twice. Experiments with a long-legged wizard and a small river say you can cross the same river thirty, thirty-five times a minute.
Wizards don't like philosophy very much. As far as they are concerned, one hand clapping makes a noise like "cl."

I just went to see One Hand Clapping. It was so cute!
Some random thoughts I want to capture:
- I want Paul’s sweater with the daisies
- I love the saxophone player, he’s so happy to be there and be micromanaged by Paul
- how is Linda pulling off this fringe again and again
- Denny really was a cutie
- kudos to David Litchfield for showing the orchestra being bored to death while blasting Live and Let Die (the man with the glasses?!?)
- Paul is singing Baby Face about himself and he knows it, he’s behaving especially cute
- Paul going from Twenty Flight Rock to Peggy Sue … couldn’t help but wonder if John would’ve booked the next flight to London if he’d seen that tape (probably not but I wrote a whole ff in my head during that)
- Paul answering Geoff’s criticism: »chaotic, but also aggressive and fun!« (I think it went like that, plz correct me if I’m wrong)

towards the end of the one hand clapping documentary old man paul mccartney appeared on screen in front of a blinding white background like god and said “don’t get up from your seats! we have a little bonus jamming backyard session!” and mimed out playing guitar and it was so jarring yet adorable and i sort of want octogenarian macca to randomly appear on screen during his biopic like kuzco from emperors new groove

miscellaneous one hand clapping notes
meemaw paul going “hi it’s paul” we know.
linda :)
The Bracelet sighting!!!!!!
paul phrasing wings’ success as “it took a few years for us to get to the top again” using his famous “us” to actually mean “me”
denny essentially being like “yah I get why paul is so insecure” 10/10
love the way linda is so gracefully stone-faced while paul constantly looks like he’s about to go ~teehee~
paul pulling the “some of my songs are about my life, and some are just made up stories, but you know what freud would say about those!!🤪”
he had me for “let’s love” ngl
bopping up and down micromanaging the saxophone player
twenty-flight rock in backyard sessions you can’t hide from me I know your mind I know what this is

One Hand Clapping Thoughts & Feels, probably rambling and incoherent and long and out of order but eh, here goes:
Paul’s opening presentation of the film laced with nostalgia and not-so-low key admiration of his younger self’s talent-awwwww
The way his focus when playing almost extinguished everything else out of the room, the way music just seems to flow through him and also from him, UGH he's so disgustingly talented and so clearly in his element when he’s creating music
His little flowery jacket 🌺 His yellow flowy shirt- in general awesome sartorial choices, no notes
When he said he used to think that "maybe it's too much to live up to being Paul McCartney" OUCH
The way everyone seemed to be having the time of their lives
Shout out to Geoff Britton who I will be looking into more because he looked like a cool guy on top of being a great drummer
The little backyard concert! That felt almost like having Paul privately serenading you, I was swooning the whole time ngl
Linda being fabulous while also talking a little bit about being insecure about her place in the studio and powering through it because "if you don't do it for yourself no one will do it for you" YOU GO GIRL
The Live and Let Die bit, shout out to the orchestra for having a job to do and doing it well
Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five: OHMYGOD no comment. Dead.
Paul talking about his 14-year-old self thinking he would go into cabaret style music *sigh*
He wrote Suicide AT FOURTEEN
Excellent job with restoring the sound btw, I felt surrounded by voices the whole time, almost like being in there with them
All in all, a great experience, five stars, am recommending
I wish I could bottle Paul up and keep him forever and ever, that's all
