March 10, 2021 - French dub is released and it turns out the confession scene is much more intense that it was in the English version. Destiel goes canon again.

A few highlights:

The confession itself goes: “je t’aime Dean,” “ne me fais pas ça, Castiel” which translates to “I love you, Dean,” “don’t do this to me, Castiel” (it uses a singular you in ‘I love you’), while the English version is “I love you,” “don’t do this, Cas.”

“Because you cared, I cared” in French dub is: “parce que j'ai senti que tu tenais à moi, et que moi aussi je tenais à toi“ (“because I felt that you cared for me,  I too cared for you”).

The line “I cared about the whole world because of you” in the French dub is: “Si j'ai autant aim�� ce monde, c'est uniquement grâce à toi” (”If I cared for/loved this world so much, it’s only because of you”).

I don’t care if this makes literally no sense to anyone but me but when i tell you the Dean Cas and Benny arc IS the Bella Edward Jacob love triangle my mind is huge. Copy and paste the tent scene right from Eclipse into purgatory. You can’t tell me these supernatural beings didn’t fight over who gets to provide the body heat when Dean starts shivering from the cold in this no blankets miserable forest. Then they stay awake talking about Dean while he sleeps. Benny confronts Cas about abandoning Dean and not seeming on board with the escape. Cas pulls the 1900′s Edward “I will do anything to keep my beloved safe, and I have failed to keep him from harm oh the woes” speech. Benny is like, “You have to consider that I might be better for him than you,” and Cas does that squinty sad look like, “I have considered it.” Dean snaps at Benny, “I don’t care who’s a vampire and who’s an angel.” “But I am a vampire,” says Benny. “And he is an angel.” And Dean just throws his hands up and yells, “And I’m an Aquarius!”

dean giving the mixtape to cas is like I will not explain what this is or even the concept of a “gift,” something you surely have never received from any of your incestuous siblings who hate you. that is really what makes destiel so top tier, it’s the fact that you’ve got this ultra-powerful cosmic entity and this fairly scary guy who is sweet and Doing His Best but also has a body count that would make a serial killer jealous, and they like, rifle around in each other’s pockets and bitch at each other like a couple from nebraska who have been married since the carter administration
