wanna post my theory before Elain's book is here

I know people say Feysand is Hades x Persephone, but NO. Wrong. They're Beauty and the Beast as well. Rhys is literally described as having a beast mode/version/side. People are scared of him. He's misunderstood, etc. And because these are retellings, some things are changed. Like for instance, Rhys teaches HER to read, the way Belle taught the Beast to read in the Disney version (I can't recall if they do that in the original fairytale).

I think Tamlin x Feyre were the BatB fairytale retelling, and Feysand were more the Disney BatB retelling.

Hades kidnaps Persephone in the original story. Rhys tells her he wants her to come to the Night Court as part of her deal. You know who else makes a deal to stay with them? Belle and the Beast.

And yes, Rhys takes her away from Tamlin, but that's literally the only similarity to Hades x Persephone they have. Feyre was never spring-like to be Persephone, but who is?

ELAIN.

Elain is actually going to be the Persephone retelling. She is SPRING and where is she? In the Night Court, aka The Underworld, and ope, who is the male she likes? Azriel. Hades kidnaps Persephone and makes a deal to keep her in the Underworld. I don't think Az is obviously going to "kidnap" Elain, he doesn't need to, but I do think some sort of deal will be made, finally ending any sort of tie of her to Lucien and breaking the mating bond (because let's be honest, everyone and their mate getting together is boring af and is honestly why I'm kinda eh about all the mate reveals in her books now but I digress). Also Az's personality fits Hades much more than Rhys did. Hades has been written as a quiet, reserved introvert who likes to stay in the "shadowy darkness of his realm". Does that sound like Rhys or Az? I mean. It's right there, really.

Now the other retelling was Snow White and The Seven Dwarves, and other than a total crack explanation that Nesta went through several men before finding her prince, aka Cassian, (they did say her mother wanted a prince for her and Cassian was referred to as the Prince of Bastards so....?) it's hard for me to really place them as Snow White, but there wasn't another retelling in the first three.

People say oh three brothers, three sisters, so boring. And everyone and their mate getting together is what? Not boring? Not easy? I would LOVE for someone to finally break the mating bond and say yeah no, I don't want you.

Possibly hot take: Nessian would have been 100000000x better if they didn't turn out to be mates. The reveal at first was like WHAT. And then like five seconds later, I was like, "ope, wait. I hate this."

On the struggle bus today, and right now the odds of the next Mezzo chapter being ready on time are slim to none. I had some bigger revisions to make, and between work, travel, lack of spoons, and just not having enough time for fucking anything, the chapter just isn't quite where I want it yet. I just need time, and I never have it.

I've got a question!

What's your least favorite thing to draw/do when you make art?

I'm on my own art journey right now and kind of dread the transition from lineart to coloring.

Trying to study anatomy right now and ignore rendering but I'm curious what other artists feel is challenging or just like 'ugh, ok time for [x]'

OHHH in terms of what's challenging, for me it's definitely coloring, rendering, backgrounds, and composition HAHA (<- chronic flat colors user who only draws character art on a floating white background)

i love focusing on gesture and lines when i draw ^_^ i rely mostly on intuition for the other stuff but it really only takes u so far T_T i'll spend hours trying to fix something by trial and error when i probably couldve saved that time by putting in more conscious studying/practice lol

#the thing that keeps me from getting too down about it tho is that it just takes some dedicated time and practice!!!#one of my goals this year is to take a class on one of those things!! or read a book on it or smth lol #for me i like learning the theory behind those things. makes things click and saves me a lot of time and frustration down the road lol #just the other day i was working on smth and the colors took me FOREVERRRR to figure out T_T #it's like. i kinda knew why the colors didnt work together but i didn't know how to pick the right ones to fix it.#it's nice to have tools to fall back on when you get stuck/intuition fails you #BUT!! everyone is different #the important thing is to not get too hung up on the things you are weak in ^_^ it's only temporary as long as ur patient and practice!!#i think its hilarious how u put it tho 'ugh ok time for' BC IT RLY DO FEEL LIKE THAT SOMETIMES DKJFHASF #me when i finish my sketch/lines. ugh now time for everything else BAHAHA #ALSO SORRY I REPLIED SO LATE this has been sitting in drafts for a while and i forgot to finish writing my response omfg

#fuck I can’t sleep with the lingering anxiety about my dumbass mistake #this morning I sent my mom camping pics and included one that had a shot of my engagement ring #I never told her about getting engaged because I couldn’t stand the thought of my parents’ reactions #whether they were shocked and then forcefully cheerful #or outwardly disturbed #I just didn’t want it to spoil how I felt #honestly there’s every chance they won’t notice the ring #though my hands are prominent in the picture #but I sent them this morning and she responded that she’d look at the pics later #still no response at the end of the day #again every possibility that she just forgot/didn’t get around to it #but it’s eating away at me to think of her feeling betrayed because I kept it from her #it hurts because I want to trust her with everything and some part of me does trust her with everything #but then I get reminded of why I shouldn’t and it hurts #and I can’t figure out how bad of a person it makes me for keeping them in the dark #ugh #pay no attention to the blogger behind the screen

Y'know one thing they've changed in SWtOR that I miss aside from free QT?

Rep trophies stacking in your inventory until you choose to use them, instead of being instantly consumed when you complete a daily/loot them. Also, while we're at it, dailies resetting from when you turned them in rather than having a set time they reset.

#queen rambles #i sort of get the logic behind both changes #but i like the old way better #esp. turning in dailies #bc the old way i could have a swoop mission sitting untracked in my questlog and use it for quick transport to the event #can't do that now #or pick up all the missions for a weekly and do them as i have time #rather than have to go to the mission board every day to pick them up if i don't finish in one go #BUT the rep trophies #ugh #what if i don't WANT to use pulses on my rep boost for... ruhnuk rep bc i'm trying to max whatever the season track is? (for example)#i don't have multiple max level toons on every server #sometimes if i want the ruhnuk/manaan sweep there is one (1) person who can do it #and if they(tragen or endrali /cough) also are doing game/cold moon/master's army rep with the boost i waste like half of it #i know it's a little thing #and for events like swoop or bounty week i can work around it #but it sstill bugs me

so, alright, i accidentally dropped a whole bar of fucking soap down the toilet as it was flushing, and now it’s clogged and i am ._. freaking out only slightly

Godddd I LOVE the change on perspective of Ellington as you read atwq. Like she very much the "femme fatale" mysterious girl archetype (as much as someone who's like 15 can be a femme fatale) to the reader (because ofc we're seeing this through Lemony's perspective and L's gonna L) but then as we go along we have more and more holes poked in this picture L has built up of her until all the stuff we know about L almost comes crashing down in a way in the 4th book as we realize that LEMONY has been more mysterious more suspicious and altogether more "Ellington" than Ellington the whole time

#like HES the one with the mysterious past and strange connections and alterior motives and just UGH #like as his image of Ellington breaks down more and more as we learn more about her as we learn more about L and see the CHOICES he makes #the scale tips the other way #anyways ive been feeling the urge to reread atwq the past few days #esp since im taking a film study course and id love to reread it again keeping an eye for film noir inspirations and whatnot #also theyll help me crush my friends soul. on goodreads.#its gotten so competitive and out of hand etc. like im 8 books behind (started 2 months late) but im gonna kill her #she keeps threatening to unfriend me though 😭😭😭 bc i read mostly poetry classics adult fantasy and nonfiction whereas shes still #solidly into YA #blah #atwq #what was i saying again?
