I probably wouldn't even dislike y6's ending so much if we hadn't spend the last 6 games establishing Daigo, Majima and Haruka as integral to Kiryu's story, only for them to be delegated to a glorified after credit scene while fully expecting us to care about the Onomichi crew.

And Haruka 'I know what a soapland is when I'm 9' Sawamura is dumbed down to infinity. Like she runs away from Morning Glory cause woops my dads a yakuza, a very disliked, by a lot of people yakuza. And then she runs straight into a new yakuza family. Like girl what. Nevermind then being tricked into coming to Kamurocho of all places. She should know so much beter.

On that note rgg still can't write romance to save their life because god Yuta sucks. We only see him at his lowest points, drunk, selfish and suicidal, while his Haruka and Haruto are in constant, life threatening danger. Not that Yuta isn't fair to do so. But why should I care, when I spend 5 games taking care of Haruka?

In general the Onomichi crew so did not work for me. We got a traior (oh no), a misogynist and Yuta. Like why should I care? Just cause he said Kiryu aniki? The entire crew depends on 'we love Haruka so much and wanna protect her' Ever heard of show don't tell?

Why couldn't the Jingweon be after Haruka because she very publicly announced their no. 1 enemy was her dad? Like that sounds like pretty good reasoning to go after her. But no. It's because she had a one night stand with their back up heir. Like oh my god fucking what. It's so stupidly convoluted.

I'm playing lad now and it's so refreshing to see a story about someone else. It's why 4 & 5 work so well too. They're other people's stories, that involve Kiryu and the Tojo at some point. But 6 just shoe horns someone else's story into Kiryu's game and it sucks.

Like how cool would it have been if you played as Yuta instead? Piecing together why your gf goes missing, uncovering the whole plot and then running into Kiryu in the finale and kicking ass together. Hell. Give us a Kiryu chapter at the end. Maybe even an Akiyama chapter. Pull a Saejima on us and throw a Daigo prison chapter in lets go. Everyone can figure out one bit; Yuta - why Haruka goes missing, Akiyama - why she shows up in Kamurocho, Daigo - why the Jingweon is after her and Kiryu - why his daughter shows up in an incident in Kamurocho after running away for so long.

Like you can make this work rgg. But please if you make it a Kiryu game give me the people Kiryu cares about. Or take Kiryu out and make it about someone else. Tanimura and Shinada were great. Akiyama and Saejima became mainstays. You can do it.
