Rebel - Kelly Severide
Tumblr media
Pairing: Kelly Severide x fem!reader
Word Count: 800+
Warning: One swear word, mention of we*d (the whole fic is about this)
A/N: Just a warning, I've only seen half a season of this show and a full season of Med. So if I get a character wrong, my bad. Also, I mention that the reader is Boden's niece but she doesn't need to be blood-related. She can be a family friend niece or whatever you want to decide.
Masterlist / One Chicago Masterlist
Once in a while, everyone would be in a good enough mood to sit down and have dinner. No excuses about needing to clean the truck or refill the ambo. Also now excuses from Squad 3 that they were having an intense round of cards. Them being free to actually sit and eat together was probably due to the fact that you cooked dinner, something that was rare. Often you were too tired, but today felt different so you decided to do the task of cooking dinner for the firehouse.
For the first 10 minutes, everyone was quiet. Other than utensils clashing against each other hardly any words were said. Everyone wanted to get a good amount of food in before a call would come through.
Although it wasn't long before someone started up a conversation. In a second the table looks like a real family dinner table, loud. The topic seemed to be reminiscing about being young, before becoming a firefighter. You were one of the youngest at the table so you didn't think they were gonna ask questions about the topic. Your youth wasn't that long ago.
"What's one thing you miss when you were younger." Sylvie asked you seeing as you were next down the line.
"Smoking weed." You casually said which made everyone look at you with a raised eyebrow. They thought you were joking or not believing you.
"What? I work for the state, I can't do that anymore." You shrugged as if it was no big deal. You really didn't think it was, it was so easy to get the supply so it shouldn't be that shocking.
"You used to smoke weed?" Casey asked again still in disbelief as with everyone else.
"Yeah, who hasn't at last once?" You asked and soon courses of 'me' all spoke at once. Some of them had to be lying right?
"God you guys were boring."
"Next you're going to tell us you got arrested." Otis quipped which made you gasp.
"Wow just because I smoked weed you make that connection, and no I haven't I just ran from the cops." You mumbled the last part not knowing why you were feeding them this information. Sure you were all one big happy family, but big happy families don't need to know everything about each other.
"What the hell, kid," Hermann said making you give a sheepish smile. The look on his face told you he was never going to look at you the same again.
"It was a different time, I was having the time of my life." You defended yourself. Sure weed wasn't legal in Illinois, but it wasn't bad. It was a herb.
"What else did you do?" Kelly asked who surprisingly has been quiet this whole time. He didn't look as shocked as everyone, but he didn't know you had this side of you.
"Uhh shoplifted?" You said in a questioning tone. Still, you didn't know why you were confessing all this.
"How did you do a 360?" Sylvie asked impressed. You acted nothing like the girl you were talking about. Their young, sweet, rookie.
"I got sent to live with Boden, that's what happened,"
"I heard my name." You heard the devil himself say from behind you as he made his plate of food. He must have had an important call if he didn't come to eat right away.
"We didn't know your niece was a rebel child," Sylvie said making Chief laugh. He had the pleasure of watching you grow and is a big part of why you are today.
"Yeah, but look at her now." He said in a proud tone making you smile.
"Well he just made stop half the dangerous illegal stuff, I still smoked." You added not thinking much of it, you really didn't know when to stop.
"You what?!" He exclaimed making my eyes go wide.
"I thought you knew this!" You defended yourself. This was your sign to stop talking and not spill anything else about 'the time of your life.'
"No! How long did you do it for?" He asked making me gulp, all of a sudden you felt like you were 16 again.
"I stopped when I got hired."
"You continued for 5 more years. You were smoking in college?!"
"How did you not smell it, I had some good shit. I thought you let me go since I was doing good in school." You defended for what seemed like the millionth time in just 5 minutes.
"I'm going back to my office." He shook his head making you laugh. You knew it stressed him, but years have passed. He was just going to have a good laugh about it when he gets over the fact he couldn't tell what was happening in his house.
"Who knew you were such a rebel child," Otis said making the table chuckle.
"Oh like I'm such a good girl now. You older people are a buzzkill." You pipped in taking a jab at them, they were really showing their age. Even the younger ones who weren't that much older than you.
"You got your hands full Severide," Sylvie said making your boyfriend shake his head in amusement.

top 5 mouse/moustead hc that will break my heart
that will break your heart??? oh well then a countdown seems fit for this one
5. I will die on the hill that Mouse has been pining over Jay for years, but any time he goes to say something about it, he either chickens out at the last second or Jay just doesn't realized what was happening ("you seeing somebody?" was Mouse trying to ask Jay out and no one will ever convince me otherwise)
4. point 5 is why he reenlisted. seeing Jay happy in a solid, stable relationship with someone else... that hurt to much. he had to get away from it. if he hadn't been able to reenlist because of his record, he simply would have found somewhere else to go - I have multiple AUs in my head where he goes to Boston, or Atlanta, or LA, just anywhere that's not Chicago, for at least a year or so.
3. all of Mouse's mommy issues. just... his entire relationship with Thelma. all of it. from being the little kid who idolized his mother to being kicked out and cut off when he wasn't perfect enough for the family image.
2. I've actually gotten really attached to the headcanon that Mouse was killed in action between s6 and s7, when Greg the Mouse first appears on the shelf behind Kim's desk. and all the more reckless than normal shit we see Jay doing in 7a is him just (not) coping with that on top of everything else.

You were absolutely in shock.
Your eyes couldn’t believe what they were seeing as they kept staring at the test you had in your hands for what felt like hours. You couldn’t believe it, it all seemed to be in a dream.
But it wasn’t.
It was reality, it was really happening.
You were pregnant.

I think many celebs especially single ones or the ones who don’t have any roots rent places. Like Sebastian stan still rents his apartment, timmy still rents his place etc. I think if you have family in the are you’re more likely to put roots down and buy a house. So it makes sense Joe rents, there’s no point in buying a house when you’re traveling so much and I feel like he’s at the stage where he’s testing which location he likes more? Idk I could see him buying a house in chciago or near NY and renting an apartment in LA in the future but as of rn I’m thinking he’s mainly going between NY and chciago
Yeah exactly! I don’t think it makes sense to own your own place when you’re constantly busy and on a plane or in different states, countries etc. But I also can see him moving back to Chicago in the future tbh

What’s the worst call on Chciago Fire that made you want to bang your head against a wall because of how inaccurate it was?
As much as I loved the character, as amazing as I think Monica is, Gabby Dawson in Ambo was a flaming hot-mess pile of shit. And that's me being nice with my assessment.
Most of Fire's glaring failings are on Ambo. Outside of Gabby, and her just complete disregard for...everything, the numbers they call for meds. Where the fuck are they getting that shit? I can very clearly remember the line "20 miligrams of Versed." I'm sorry? What were they trying to sedate an elphant? Because sure as fuck wasn't a human being, unless he was Goliath or they trying to kill him. 1mg. One. Singular. That's enough to knock out most people.
Also, most of the time, they "have to intubate," but no, they don't. Usually, they need to decompress, which they almost never do, which also means they're making things worse when they intubate because they're just filling the cavity with more air and nowhere for it to go.
From a fire perspective, it's usually more nitpicky, but that's worse because it means we see the mistakes a lot more often. Like not checking to see if a door is unlocked before breaking it down. Not charging lines before going into a buidling that on fire. Using a plastic waterbottle when running power tools that create sparks or heat, instead of a line. Things like that.

Jason mamoa was recently in my state for his vodka tour and I’m not even a big fan of him but I like actively stood in line to meet him just to meet him lol and the pic I got with him is gonna be my profile pic for a good few months. Maybe I’m just thinking differently but that’s why I don’t get how she was able to downplay the sighting like that. Like even that one nonnie who saw him in chciago said she was trying to report to DM but Dm never took her seriously like even a Lowkey sighting like thag was trying to get reported but not this one?
First of all Jason👀
second of all, I saw a c list 2000s actor randomly on vacation and I freaked out for the world to see. I wasn’t even a fan. Like more enthusiasm please! lastly, one of her followers commented and made it seem like she was a fan

i saw somewhere that people think the 3rd Chciago show will be when taylor swift plays should've said no and as someone who was a preteen and thought it was the best alarm clock sound to use on her brand new iHome, I will now be thoroughly invested in the next couple of weeks as people track so i can decide if i will be watching a live stream, attempting to buy tickets last minute or being one of those people standing outside soldier field.

Chasing Fires - Brian ‘Otis’ Zvonecek: Chapter Three
Tumblr media
Brian Zvonecek has spent most of his adult life fighting fires, now it’s time to chase one.
Follows on from Million Reasons but is a stand alone fic.
Tagging   @orileyfiction for all her help and support! Also @me-ladie for being the wonderful person she is and betaing.
Kat: You still awake?
Otis: …
Kat: I can see the dots.
Otis: Fine. Yea. I’m awake.
Kat: Good. I’m outside.
Otis: Like outside outside or outside the apartment door.
Kat: Outside the apartment door, I don’t wanna knock and wake Cruz up.
Otis: What on earth are you doing here? It’s like 1.30 in the morning?
Kat: Open the door and you’ll find out.
Otis: You’re crazy you know that?
The air was cold as Brian stood at the foot of the chlorinated swimming pool, staring at the ripples in the cyan water. At 2am the rec centre was a ghost town.Kat had had a key to the building, so they were the only people there. Something he was glad of as he clutched the towel around his bare shoulders. He was clad in Hawaiian swim shorts that had still had the tags and a pair of flip-flops.
“I don’t know why I let you convince me to do this,” he told Kat, casting a glance in her general direction.
Kat dropped her own towel, revealing a black athletic swimsuit that clung to her form. Her hair was tied up in a messy bun at the top of her head. His gaze was drawn to the scars that were etched into her flesh. The slash mark across her left shoulder blade, white, wrinkled, and split open like a smile across her skin. That puckered indentation in her right bicep from a bullet. They were a part of her, a badge of honour that she wore better than anyone else he knew.
He thought of his own scars, the burn across his chest from where that beam had gotten him, searing through his protective layers. The tanned spatter pattern up left his calf from shrapnel during a construction explosion. His chest felt tight when he thought about revealing them. He was shy about his body, as a firefighter he was in good shape but some of the guys were more defined, the type of bodies you’d see on the cover of Men’s Health. When he looked in the mirror, he barely even compared.
“Because you know I have your best interests at heart,” Kat told him with that wicked smile of hers as she climbed down the ladder into the water. “The quicker you get into the water and start moving, the quicker you’ll warm up.”
Kat bobbed in the water, unhooking her swimming goggles from her wrist, fixing them on her head, and pulling them down over her eyes. Brian took a deep breath before tilting his head up and shedding his towel. He grasped the handles on the ladder before lowering himself down into the water.
“I hate this, I hate this, I hate this,” he chanted as the surprisingly  cold water lapped over his bare chest.
He had expected it to be warmer, much warmer. What happened to the heated pools that everyone raved about?
“You lied.” He accused as Kat ducked under the guideline and into a separate lane.
“Start swimming, you’ll warm up.”
“I hate you.” Brian told her, dipping down even lower under the water until it came up to his chin.
“We’ll see.”
Brian gave her a dark look before pushing off the side of the pool and breaking into a front crawl. He kicked hard, turning his head from side to side as his arms swooped over his head, dipping into the water. He was breathless by the time he’d completed his lap, he hovered for a second, wiping his hand over his face watching Kat who was already halfway through her second lap. She looked graceful and strong, her limbs carving through the water.
She paused when she reached the opposite end, lifting her goggles up to her hairline.
“Come on slowpoke,” she called over. “You’re already falling behind.”
He gave her the middle finger from across the pool with both hands. She laughed, that musical sound resounding in his ears as she pulled her goggles back down and took off again. He found himself smiling, despite how he felt about his body, about himself, the doubts that trickled into his head in the dead of night. He was smiling and he had her to thank for that.
He pushed off again, letting the water envelop him as he found his rhythm. With each stroke he felt pieces of himself returning, parts he thought he’d lost. He focused on the flow of the water over his skin, the tempo of his heart as he focused on his goal, surging ahead towards it. By the time he came up for air, Kat was waiting for him, paddling in her lane, keeping herself afloat.
“Better?” She asked as he ran his fingers through his curls, slicking them back away from his face.
He did a mental inventory, sifting through his thoughts and feelings. For the first time in a long time his head was blissfully empty, his muscles felt worn and tired. He felt exhausted but in a good way, like he could sleep for a week.
“I’m going to tell you something I’ve never told anybody before.” Kat told him, drifting over the line marker.
Brian swum over, his arms coming to rest on the red and white plastic cylinders. Their elbows touched briefly, as she leaned her head close conspiringly.
“Sometimes when I’ve had a bad day, a really bad day. The sort of day that makes you want to scream, I come here, and I do it.” She said, gesturing at the pool.
“You what?” he questioned, his tone disbelieving. “You come here and scream?”
Kat shrugged.
“I dive under the water, and I just let it all out.”
He placed his chin on his arms, his legs kicking out behind him leisurely as she considered it.
“Does it help?”
Her forehead came to rest against his. He closed his eyes for a second savouring the intimacy, the connection between the two of them as she whispered.
“Yea, it helps.”
He drew away, sucking in a breath as he allowed himself to sink underneath the water. He thought of all the anger he felt, the rage, the frustration, the sorrow, the grief. It bundled up in his chest, rising up through his throat before he screamed out into the water. The air bubbles tore from his mouth as he let it out.
He broke the surface of the water gasping, his chest aching.
“Better?” Kat asked, her voice carrying over the roaring in his ears.
He didn’t speak, he simply held up a finger before submerging himself once more. He screamed again, and again and again until his throat was raw and his lungs heaving. He was too exhausted to swim, instead he lay on his back and floated, his eyes closed as he listened to the sound of Kat’s splashes as she swam. There was a solace inside of him, a buoyancy he hadn’t felt in years. He wanted to stay here forever in this pool, his body and soul weightless.
“You’re getting tired.” Kat said as she lingered at the lane marker. “That means it’s time to get out.”
“I don’t want to.” He told her, opening his eyes and staring at the ceiling.
“We can always come back.” She said, reaching out and booping him on the nose.
He spluttered as his face sank under the water. Kat laughed, swimming away back towards the ladder before hauling herself up. He followed suit, groaning as he pulled himself up, his body feeling ten times heavier. The cool air left goosebumps on his skin as he snatched up his towel. He began to pat himself dry before turning his attention to Kat.
“How often do you get out here?”
“A couple of times a week,” she told him, wrapping her towel around her body over her swimsuit. “Depends on what’s going on at the time.”
“You have a key.”
“Yea.” She told him, undoing the bun so that her damp hair fell across her shoulders, she threaded her fingers through it, shaking it out. “It’s run by a community trust; my dad is one of the guys fighting to keep this place open. It helped with everything that was going on back then.”
Back then being when they first met, when her head was a mess and she felt like stepping off a bridge into the abyss. Brian was glad she hadn’t, glad she was still here in his life, here with him.
“I feel like I am about to drop off.” He said quietly, draping the towel around his shoulders. A damp curl fell across his forehead as he looked at her.
“Good,” Kat said with a small smile, jerking her thumb at the tiled entrance way. “I’ll meet you on the other side of the changing rooms and then we can get you into bed.”
Brian watched her go without any doubt all that Kat Thompson knew exactly what she was doing to him.

not to sound mean but if there’s no plans for a major crossover then i need the them to stop doing interviews all together for all three shows. they only ever send one person from each show, which i’d understand more if the shows felt connected but they haven’t done a crossover in so long that each show feels like its own separate universe. so i’d rather have 3 separate interviews for the shows and they can send more then one person to represent each show.
i just want interviews when more then one person from the fire cast is there
but also, please do a major crossover 😭

As a fellow Illinoisan, my feeling is that Dean is the sort of person who is "from Chicago" but actually lived in like... Aurora or something. (No shade to Aurora! I know some great people there! But still.) Thoughts?
I never thought of that but you know what? I think you’re right he really just does not scream city kid in any way to me. like we see jess who is a new yorker through and through but dean is so a suburbs kid. not in a bad way his negative traits don’t stem from his hometown but… also I don’t want to claim him as a chicagoan it kind of offends me frankly

Jay Halstead vs Voight
Jay from season 1 is doing things with emotion, because of them. Carter boy was the first example of that behaviour. The biggest difference between them is Voight only covers “his” people. Things he done for Erin, or even things ge done for Jay, when he put wrong man in arrest.
I always see things why the unit works with Voight, because he has two rules solving case for any cost and cover for “his” people, do everything he can for his unit.
In some ways, we should be thank to Voight, because he always knows what to do with Jay emotional story and how to help him. We don't have to discuss that.
BUT the major different is Jay is not killing people on his own and he is not making justice with his own hands. He knows te law. He knows he is a cop. He serves the city. Voights doing everything opposite and making his own law.
Is EVERONE in unit in some point took advantage from Voight’s point of view? Yes.
Is Voight fault they crossing the lines and hidding stuff? Yes, because he many times told them, he creats them as a cop, he wants officer, not detectives because he teaches them, what cop they have to be, to be in his unit.
Jay was cop before Kevin, Kim, Adam, he knows what Voight do good - catching criminals and what he do wrong - killing people if he think they deserve it.

The Big Day
Pairing: Ethan Choi x f!Reader
Warnings: FLUFF
Request: @faithhasnowords
Could I have it as reader x dr choi and its their wedding day and its all super sweet and romantic and just utter fluff
Word count: 474
A/N: A bit short, but I hope you like it!!
Tumblr media
This was the day, you have been waiting for so long, your wedding day. Your heart fluttered in your chest, you were so happy! You were marrying the love of your life! As a medic you were a constant visitor in Med, but never in your wildest dreams, would you expected to fell head over heels for the handsome doctor, Ethan Choi. And yet, here you were standing, your white dress spread around you, a huge smile plastered on your face, and just an aisle separating from the man you loved.
The music started to play and you draped your arm over your father’s, as he slowly lead you down the aisle. You locked eyes with Ethan and all your fears were gone after seeing his loving gaze. As soon as you reached him, you let go of your father’s arm, and laced your fingers with Ethan’s. Through the ceremony you glanced at each other every few seconds, it was hard to concentrate on the officiants word, when his hand was in yours and your happily ever after was just moments away. You only let go of his hand for the exchanging of wedding rings, then it was time for the first kiss as husband and wife.
As your lips meet, your surroundings became unimportant. Your lips connected so tenderly and full of love that it was really hard to stop and turn back your attention to the guests. You didn’t want a big wedding, there were just your families and your second families from the firehouse and Med. Ethan squeezed your hand as you both turned to your guests, receiving congratulation after congratulation. You just wanted it to end already so you can be alone with your new husband, and finally start your lives together.
Ethan must have the same thoughts, because as soon as the party was in full swing and everybody had a drink or two more than necessary, he leaned closer to you, whispering in your ear.
“We should get out of here”
“But Ethan” you gasped slightly “it’s our wedding!”
“Don’t tell me you didn’t thought the same just moments before” he challenged you with a knowing smirk appearing on his lips. You pretended to be offended, but a cheeky grin soon took over your features.
“My, my, you really know me, don’t you?” a small laugh leaving your lips, as you arched your brow slightly.
“So, are you in Mrs. Choi?” he asked, offering his hand, gazing at you lovingly.
“Of course, Mr. Choi” you said, taking his hand and the smile never leaving your lips, as he whisked you away from your own wedding. Leaving behind you guests, without a care in the world, because you were with the man you loved and a new chapter in your lives just started, which will be filled with love.
