I’m going insane. I’m so sorry for this.
———
The family waited impatiently for the two youngest members to come to breakfast. For the past few weeks, it had been a fight for who’s family Mirabel and Antonio belonged to. Was it Julieta’s? Was it Pepa’s? Was it Bruno?
No one knew. But at this point, it was anyones game. So far, it had been Bruno, much the Cool and Warm family’s displeasure. Even the town had gotten in on it, irritating them even further; Bruno had even gotten a little cocky.
The only one who hadn’t been ‘competiting’, was Alma. In fact, she hadn’t even been taking any ones side; sure, she gave into the joke every once in a while, but otherwise, she had been the middle ground.
“It’s going to be me, again,” Bruno said, crossing his arms. He was met with a roll hitting him in the face.
“Don’t be so confident. Mí niños always come back to me,” Pepa huffed.
Julieta scoffed, gathering both of their attention. “Yeah, whatever. I’ve been the best one here to them, they’re bound to bounce off you two and come back. You two are just a phase.”
“Phase? Says you! You’re the main victim here,” Pepa laughed. “You have the lowest chance here.”
“She’s not wrong,” Fèlix mumbled into his cup.
“What?! No—Antonio has spent the most time with Mirabel, and since Mirabel is mi niña, she will come back to me, and Antonio will follow,” Julieta smiled.
“Yeah right! They’ve been with me so far! I’m obviously the top—“ Bruno was cut off by a cheery voice.
Everyone turned towards the the voice, knowing it was Mirabel, and with her, Antonio. “Sorry we’re late!” Mirabel said, walking in with Antonio, his hand in her own, both smiley widely. Everyone greeted them quickly before their eyes drifted to their clothes; they had to know who’s color they were wearing.
Everyone’s jaw dropped at the clothes they wore. Was it any shade of Blue? No. Shades of Yellow? No. Their cute little green clothes they were wearing just the day before? No.
It was maroon. A deep, rich colored maroon skirt for Mirabel and a nice dress shirt for Antonio. Along the hems was the same flame pattern that ran along Alma’s dress. Antonio had even wore a pair of dress pants instead of his usual casual ones, probably so he could be just as nicely dressed. Mirabel had somehow managed to get a pair of Alma’s earrings and was wearing them, along with similarly tying her hair back with a bow.
Everyone turned to look at the elder woman, who looked just as confused, but nevertheless, happy.
“Abuelita!” Antonio yelled, arms up as he rushed over, Mirabel close behind. Both children ambushed her in a small group hug. She carefully hugged them back, while still smiling widely, noticing how every single family member was giving her a look of death.
“We match, mira mira!” Mirabel beamed. She spun around while Antonio showed off his shirt proudly.
“I see, haha,” Alma simply clapped her hands, hoping that her family wouldn’t kill her before lunch. “You both look amazing!” Alma was having way too much fun being an Abuela.
Again, I sincerely apologize ☠️☠️
THIS IS IT! THIS IS THE PEAK ENDING
Abuela runs this show~
