Sims 2 on Windows 11

Alright, the new computer with Windows 11 is up and running and Sims 2 has been installed. These are the steps I took to get it running and looking pretty:

Installed the game through EA App

I installed "George" so I won't need to start the game up through EA App and let it waste resources and spy on me.

I ran the 4GB patch on the Sims2EP9.exe and TS2BodyShop.exe

I ran Graphics Rules Maker and tweaked things through that enabling it to use my full texture memory etc

I installed the EmptyStandbyList since without it I got pink flashing very quickly

added my graphics card in the video cards file manually

did the common graphics rules tweaks (these) manually

applied 4gb patch to bodyshop and game exes

tested bodyshop, it started up but has no smooth edges, otherwise textures are good and new projects export and import as supposed. 4GB patch works as supposed. It'll likely require tweaking it through nvidia control panel so leaving that for later.

Started up game, after turning the edge smoothing on it looks this good (no mods thus the boxy shadows):

6. However my log is reporting only 1gb of RAM for the game to use, will have to reapply the 4gb patch and try again. But it's using all 12 gb for texture memory so that's cool, I probably won't need to worry too much about pink flashing but I'm going to stress test it a little.

:'D But looking at task manager I see my standby memory has filled up the remaining RAM already so this is actually working as expected, I just forgot one step.

7. installed the EmptyStandbyList.

8. This is where I closed game, applied the standby memory fix, rechecked my exe and remembered that you weren't supposed to run it in compatibility mode so I turned that off but just in case I also reapplied 4gb patch and restarted the game. Now it's correctly showing me 4GB of RAM to use for the game so that should be handled.

Side note: Mr. Humble spawned, I haven't seen him for years as I have mod to stop him from appearing. Was this sim always so ugly? It looks like his face is melting.

But it crashed when I clicked on the sims icon.

New try, game restarted and this time we'll go straight to CAS and... *immediately gets distracted* There are this many bin families by default?

I've used clean templates for years so this was an unpleasant surprise. I don't like them, you're all getting nuked soon once I've made sure the game runs as supposed and can go ahead installing clean templates. So then to the CAS, it loads and I click to create a sim and....

Oh. Okay then. :| Guess I'm missing some tweak still. Let's try graphics rules maker instead, it should also easily fix my resolution etc since I forgot to do that manually.

One restart later, are you fucking kidding me?

but hey, nice crisp textures. Too bad it's so tiny I can't see shit. (I realized this was my error after a moment, I thought graphics rules maker said minimum resolution in the spot I didn't change but it actually says maximum, so I fixed that and all is good) But I'm gonna ignore that now and try loading CAS again, pls work.

.... Hell yeah, at least that finally loaded up as supposed.

She is beauty, she is grace, maxis defaults really ruin her face.

After the final restart with screen size etc fixed I went back and forth to different lots trying to make it flash pink and it never did so I'm going to say this was success.

So to recap:

Oh yay, our first thunder fire in the new house, wonder how long before someone dies again! Also love how you can see our old house in the background, a reminder you can run from your past but you can’t escape it. 

I am of course talking about this family’s past of semi-acceptable interactions between family numbers, because from now on is where things really go off the rails in this department. Allow me to introduce you to..

..Julian and Stacy’s daughter, Sunset Tinker-Union! (Because her parents wear pink and purple, get it? Get the name origin?) So the minute Bartholomew brought Sunset from school I knew it was over for me, as we’re now far enough removed from the other branches of the family tree that not even the extended family mod can save us from all those third cousins being fair game.. and you all know full well that if there’s one thing this family knows how to do, is be attracted to their distant cousins-

-I held out to one tiny hope that maybe Barflina will continue being socially incompetent losers and Sunset will hate them, but no, the minute a distant cousin enters the building it’s clearly time to turn up the charm. So first Bartholomew goes and smustles with Sunset, which, Barth, I didn’t know you were even like, biologically capable of having fun in any way-

-and then Felina (who I keep forgetting is SHY LOL WHAT) goes over to ADMIRE HER. BRO. I have never seen Felina do anything remotely nice her entire life, KILL ME.

Not So Berry (Straud Descendants) Gen 9

Today's (9/6/2024) Episode: Mr. and Mrs.

Following their reception Luigi brought the Missus to a lounge on Mua Pel’am Island for a nightcap to start their intimate afterparty.

“Yeah, Dad’s feast was tasty, but did you see their faces when we started the dance? Worth all the practice to be sure, I mean I loved practicing too…”

Fortunately for the rapidly backtracking groom, a fan approached “Cyber Lu”, interrupting their conversation by begging for an autograph. While the self-centered star happily provided a personalized headshot for the excited young lady, Noemi sipped her drink with a self-satisfied smile.

He got so adorably thrilled by the attention, and his fans never bothered her. Well worth sending out a quick anonymous Luigi sighting via text. 

When the hubbub died down and their drinks were gone, Luigi grabbed Noemi’s hand, pulling her up to face him “So, Mrs. Lawbourne, are you ready for me to show you the real reason I brought you all the way out here?”

Judging by the look on his face Noemi decided she had a really good feeling about whatever he had up his sleeve “Oh, this sounds interesting” she replied, matching his excited grin with one of her own “lead on, Mr. Lawbourne”

So late at night, they met no other sims on the winding sandy path leading up to a large misty waterfall.

“Papa used to love bringing me here when I was a kid,” Luigi said over the soft roar of the falls. “He’d pack a lunch and we’d spend hours eating and splashing around. However, apparently, there’s a little crystal cave tucked away back there that’s famous as a venue for more “adult” rendezvous…”

At the suggestive waggle of his eyebrows she teased: “Are you sure we’re not being observed? We were just accosted by one of your fangirls.”

Luigi made a big show of looking over his shoulder and then carefully checking behind nearby rocks and bushes before tiptoeing back over to her and whispering: “It’s all good, I think we’re alone now” before pulling his squealing bride into the intimate gloom behind the curtain of falling water.

“Well worth it’s reputation!” Noemi said when they emerged sometime later “Reminded me of the best parts of that grotto where you proposed.”

“I’m glad you liked it” he replied “Now, as much as I’d love to stay and explore, I think we’d better get home and finish getting ready for our trip. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow.”

“If we must… but first, get over here” she teased “I think I forgot a little something I wanted to do in there when you distracted me.”

Back home, the couple temporarily split up. While Noemi did some last-minute honeymoon packing, Luigi uploaded the video footage from the wedding onto his fancy new video editing station and started some quick revisions.

He quickly found the large, specialized workstation much easier to use than his laptop. As he put the finishing touches on a quick promotional clip, he made a mental note to see what upgrades he could make to their everyday computer setups when they got back from their trip.

He’d maxed his programming skill ages ago and could overclock any PC easily. In addition, a full size, ergonomically correct, desktop system would help keep his carpel tunnel at bay. They were developing his videogame on a laptop and a tablet for crying out loud! “It’s settled… when I get back, we’re getting new computers - no excuses!” he declared to the empty studio before finishing up and heading off in search of his wife.

Luigi found Noemi in the bedroom, waiting for him once again, in an outfit he hadn’t seen her wear since before she got pregnant.

“I hope you haven’t hurt yourself again” she said, “because that would be very inconvenient.” Her crop leapt up to press his lips together before he could respond, leaving him to shake his head silently.

“Good boy. Now, to have a nice night, you’ll want to go put on the little present I left on your bedside table, and keep that pretty mouth closed until I tell you what to do with it. Understood?” Luigi nodded again, eager to see what his mistress had in mind to cap off their wedding night in style.

After “round two” the pair finally drifted off to catch a couple hours shut eye before catching the teleport to their honeymoon destination.

As he snuggled his wife close Luigi dreamed of their upcoming adventure. They’d talked about how much fun it would be to visit the park when they’d been “just friends” back in college and now they’d finally be doing it as husband and wife. He couldn’t wait to get started.

A/N: hey hey, sorry about the wait! I really hope you enjoy this part as much as part 1. anyway, I won't keep you long, this part is pretty short.

you fell asleep at your brothers that night, but not really. yeah, he let you stay over but you weren’t able to sleep much.

you didn’t think jake could be that low. it hurt; it really did. but an asshole like him wouldn’t understand that.

you just wanted to get away from everything. school, home, your dad, jake, everything. but it’s not that easy.

you begged your brother to let you stay but he practically forced you to head home. thankfully it was the weekend but still, he didn’t want their parents to get worried about you.

when you got home, you were greeted by you father who looked upset, of course. “Where were you last night?” he said rubbing his temple in frustration. “I slept over at oppa’s” you said, cringing.

“What about school?” he said. “What do you mean” you panicked. “I know you skipped y/n!” he rose his voice. you squinted and processed what was happening. “Did I?” you said which you soon regretted.

he slapped you. you turned to him with your jaw dropped and tears forming in your eyes.

“y/n..” you heard a soft voice, jake? you turned to him with tears rolling down your face. you could see the pity in his eyes which made you feel even more pathetic.

your dad had never physically hurt you, only through speak. This pained you so much, how could your dad do this without even a tiny bit of sorry in his eyes. you walked away to your room, avoiding both makes after what your dad did and jake witnessed.

you later down and sobbed. your heart hurt so much from everything that has been going on at school and at home. you had no peace no matter where you were.

why was jake even here in the first place?

You eventually calmed down and got up from laying in your bed. you left your house and walked over to jakes house.

you knocked on the door, which was soon opened by Mrs. Sim. she looked worried and confused. “y/n? are you okay?” once she said, you broke down once more. tears began flooding your already puffy eyes as you shook your head while running in to give her a hug. “no.” you said, hugging her.

“Can you tell us what happened Hun?” Jakes parents asked you; you looked down. “Dad and I fought, and I really don’t want to be at home right now.” you bit the inside of you lip, hoping they wouldn’t send you home. “Okay, sweetie, you can stay however long you would like, let me just call your mother.” Mrs. Sim said.

you kept crying, replaying the moment over and over again, you couldn’t believe it. Mr. Sim came over to you and gave you a side hug. “I just don’t understand.” you cried to him. he nodded and patted you back.

Mrs. Sim let your mom know that you were staying with them and that you were alright. You were sitting at the desk in the spare bedroom, which you were staying in.

Jakes parents let you know that you could eat whatever you wanted, so you decided to head to the kitchen where all Mrs. Sim’s delicious food was. Jake's parents were out for a while due to something business related but would be back soon.

you opened the fridge to the smell of fresh kimchi and homemade tea. you took the tea and poured some into a glass.

“hey.” you heard. You looked up to see jake standing on the other side of the table. “What.” you said, avoiding eye contact with him. “You know...” he began, slowly. “What? are you going to tell kids at school that my dad hits me too?” you said, clearly upset. “I didn’t mean to see that.” he said, you scoffed. “Yet you still stood there and watched.” you glared.

“y/n, you don’t understand.” he pinched the bridge of his nose. “I don’t understand? no, you don’t understand and that’s what I hate about you!” you yelled.

"You hate me?" he asked, coming closer. You backed up. "I was the one trying to get you away from your dad." he pushed you against a surface. "Yet, you still hate me?" he whispered in your ear. "What are you talking about?" you ask. "After what happened at school, I.." he paused his explanation. "I actually felt bad about what happened, so I tried convincing your dad to have you switch schools, because I know home much you hate ours." he finished. "So, you actually felt-" "We're home!" you got cut off by Jake's parents voices. You pushed Jake away and smiled as they entered the room.

"How are you doing, Hun?" Mrs. Sim asked while putting her things down. You smiled and nodded. "I'm doing okay." You gave a simple answer. She began to ask something but got interrupted her, she got a phone call. "One second" she said, you nodded. You tried reading her face, she looked confused and upset. Once she got off the phone, she walked back over to you slowly. "Bad news." she sighed, you looked at her with curiosity. "you mom just called and said that you father wanted you home." she said. you laughed "that's it? it's not going to be that easy." you scoffed. "no, he also said that you're going to be transferred to another school." she said. "Oh, I already-" "in the states..." she cut you off. you stopped. "What." your eyes widened. "THE STATES?" you asked with confusion. she nodded slowly. "I'm going to bed." you said, lying.

you ran up to Jake's room and knocked on the door quickly. he opened the door "what?" he asked. You pushed him into his room and walked inside, closing the door behind you. "Do you hate me that much?" you started tearing up. "Huh?" he said. "I get you hate me, but do you hate me enough to convince my dad to ship me off the states?" you raised your voice a little, feeling frustrated. "Hey, hey, calm down. what?" he said with a soothing voice. "No! I can't stay calm when I'm literally getting sent thousands of miles away from everyone I know and love!" you screamed at him. "No, no that's not what I was intending." he had pity in his eyes as he let out his soft voice. "Yeah whatever, go to hell Jake." you said before leaving his room.

Although you dad wanted your home, you decided to just stay the night and go home in the morning. You eventually fell asleep with you and Jake's "talk" on mind.

You woke up around 7 am and greeted everyone goodbye, except jake, you just sort of glared at him. Which you knew you would regret later on but for now your still upset and didn't feel like talking to him.

When you got home, thankfully, your dad didn't scream of hit you, he just said, "Go get packed your leaving in an hour and a half." You sighed.

God, do you hate Jake. But that's the thing, you hate him but you going to miss him so much. Why's that?

While finishing up packing, you checked you clock. "Time to go" you looked down at your feet and walked out of your room. As you were headed downstairs, you stopped when you heard that familiar voice once again. "Please sir, don't send her away! I understand that you and y/n have your ups and downs but if you do this, you probably won't ever have a relationship with her again!" He pleaded. "You're the one who suggested transferring her." Your father said, with a sharp tone. "Yes, but not to a whole different country, I meant here!" He explained. "Sir please, I... I really like her. I don't want to see her go." He said quietly, but still enough to hear. after a little bit on awkward silence, someone spoke up. "Fine, but she needs to stay out of trouble." He said sternly. Jake smiled and responded, "I'll be responsible for that!" He sounded truly happy. You blushed from everything you just heard. you squirmed a little, feeling all giddy. however, doing so made the floor beneath you creak quite loudly which then startled the other two.

You heard a sigh before a loud voice. "y/n, you're not leaving, go unpack your things." Your father said before leaving the room. dammit, you've been caught.

You peaked out the corner to see Jake standing there with his arms crossed yet, with relief shown on his face. You walked towards him. "Listen, I know you probably heard everything I said, which makes this a little awkward because I know how much you hate me but-" he began, quickly. "I don't hate you." you said, slowly. "Huh?" he questioned. "I guess I just always hated how much I liked you." you said, avoiding his eyes. He chuckled as he walked closer. "So, you're basically saying I'm irresistible." he smirked. you scoffed in response. "don't get ahead of yourself." you rolled your eyes.

"y/n" he said, you looked up to him. "Hm?" you replied. "Be my girlfriend." he eyed every little detail on your face. "Woah, woah slow down." you pushed him away. "don't you have a girlfriend, you little freak?" you crossed your arms. he laughed. "no." he said, coming closer once again. "Um? Soo-Yun, remember the annoying brat?" you questioned him. "no, she was never my girlfriend." he said nonchalantly. you were so confused. "We were faking it." he said. "Faking it?" you repeated. he nodded.

the russian sleep experiment was, you guessed it, an experiment. from what i remember the experiment was conducted during a war to test endurance. the prisoners from said war were told they would be set free if they followed through with the experiment. the prisoners were locked in a room and the scientists leaked this gas in the room to keep the prisoners from sleeping, without having sleep the prisoners go insane and start to kill eachother

the russian sleep experiment is honestly my favorite creepypasta. i read it a few years ago and then shane and ryan read it on are you scared and i was hooked. i feel like beomgyu would really like it.

Since u want it Ranting anon will do their thing (Btw I use any pronouns so dw about gendered terms :D) and rant! So I'm gonna talk about executive dysfunction because that an be useful to know for pretty much anyone! So executive dysfunction is the way your brain works, specifically the executive functions lol, don't work the way they should. The three main things that are kinda "messed up" in a sense are your cognitive flexibility (ability to go from one task to the next,) your inhibition control (ability to control what you do, say and thing,) and your working memory (your ability to remember things regarding a task your doing for the duration of the time your doing that task, like short-term memory)

So the cognitive flexibility thing is the most noticed one because it makes it hard to do things like taking care of yourself or actually completing a task. The best way I've seen it described was by this one person on tiktok who compared it to trying to touch a stove or climb down from a tree, even if logically you know its safe something in you just won't let you do it. It's like that but for simple things, it tends to stunt your ability to gain habits because something that you could do easily one day all of sudden you can't bring yourself to do today while you have a voice in the back of your head telling you that it's easy and that your pathetic for not doing it. The reality is that it isn't easy, you could have everything set up for you, all you had to do was push a button but because you were already stuck on one task you can't switch over to hitting that button. It's not you deciding to not do something, it's your brain not letting you actually do that thing.

That also ties into the inhibition control, your brain might let you do one thing super easy, or actually make you do that thing but it wont let you do something else, it's not something you can control in the slightest because it's literally just how your brain works. You aren't being lazy, it's honest to god hard for you to actually start doing that thing. Once you actually start its the easiest thing ever, it's just actually switching to starting that task that feels impossible (again, cognitive flexibility).

The working memory thing is actually working on a task, maybe you were going to write an essay but you got distracted reading and spend 12 hours on that and then had to rush your essay but you also forgot to turn it in because you were thinking about what you were reading. Another thing connected to that is actually starting a task, it can be hard to start it when you can't imagine the end product, that's because if you don't have something in your memory that you can follow, something you've done before so you have something to re-stash into that working memory category you can't really figure out how to do and we repeat back to cognitive flexibility (at least that's what I've noticed with myself, if I don't have knowledge on how to do something, a format to follow, I can't do it.) There are a lot of examples for all of these and these are sort of just what I've figured out myself, I may not have explained it the best so I suggest doing your own research if this is a topic that interests you!

I got all my information, for the most part, from the Cleveland Clinic website, I will share more when I figure out how to put what I mean into words, hope this helps with any struggles if you were confused about something and found this related to you <3 There is a lot more to executive dysfunction but this is already very long and I will get into that another time! >:3 (Btw, again, this might not be 100% accurate so again if you really want to, do your own research but I will share what I find once I have more info!)

For Roo: Here's a couple Behind-The-Scenes facts, I have SOO many of these for early-days roo so get ready:

[ Prior to a settled design for Roo, Roo was gonna be a Succubus woman with white fading to black hair! I still have the only drawing I made of her, but it's bad and embarrassing (mind you its like 6 years old so) LMFAOO [ Adding onto the last one, I used to go by "The Unfortunate Roo" before Roo was a separate character and when I used to call myself Roo, I also went by "The UnRootunate" which you can imagine 12 year old me was SOO proud of that... 💀 (it is clever tho so 🤷‍♂️) [ After making Roo's first design, I intended Roo to be trans! FtM- This ended up changing because I designed his younger versions and they weren't pre-transition, and instead ended up making his gender be very apparently open-ended (which you can see through his different eras where his hair progressively gets longer :P) [ I never really shared what Roo's middle name is! But to be honest, I completely forgot about the existence of his middle name LMAO Initially his middle names were "Ivory-Roland" and the idea of "Roo" for a name came from "Roland"! [ This will come as a shock... but a while ago (~1 year ago), I was actually gonna give Roo a child 👀👀 Not biological, but just a kid he adopted or something, I don't remember anything about the kid cuz I never wrote anything down

And Here's a couple "other people/sims don't know/notice this" facts:

(Virginia Jillian Norman) [ Reese's name was COMPLETELY different when I made him... "Stephen-Elijah [Eli] Jackle Florence"... Yea LMAO, this is why Keith for Virginia wouldn't make sense, and overall his name was just a chaotic mess... I decided to actually make him have no middle name! And his birth last name is Arnett, but he changed it to Norman :) (Reese Arnett -> Reese Norman)

For Jordynn (Roo's oldest sister): Once again, behind-the-scene fact :):

A few days before my birthday, I had ordered this game called Sims Life Stories off Ebay and I've been playing it since it arrived on my birthday. It was actually the game that got me into the Sims franchise cause back during the Sims 2 era, they used to make these cool little side games for the series that centered around a specific family and had plotlines you had to follow?? So when I was a kid my dad had gotten a trial version of this game in the mail, and I LOVED IT, but I never got to experience the full storyline cause it was just a trial. Now that I've got my own money I'm playing the full game 😎 The character is named Riley and you basically help her get oriented after moving to a new city to live w her aunt. There's lots of drama and love triangles and rivlries and idk it just been so much fun reliving these old sims 2 memories. The game was soooo much richer back then

As for my main sims game, I have this family in the sims 4 where I'm on theirrr 3rd generation rn? 🤔 These hoes are messy tho so like the story started out with the original mom having toddler triplets with an unknown baby daddy, and she moved to a new apartment to start fresh. Across form her there was a cute young couple and she REALLY started liking the neighbor girl's boyfriend? Husband? Idk. So she ended up seducing him and she got pregnant with his twins and kinda ended up wrecking their marriage 😅 AND THEN I FOUND OUT THAT THE EX WAS PREGNANT TOO and I just felt so bad. But whatever.

So they got married, they had 5 kids, the mom started working in like a PR agent track and she got super famous. I forgot what the dad does but he got super famous, too. One of their daughters got famous as a teenager cause she was a musical prodigy as a kid and she started writing music as a teen, so now shes a celebrity musician.

Growing up, her triplet brother was her best friend in the whole world. The only other person she was as close to was a neighbor boy in the apartment complex down the street from her, and the three of them all became super great friends from childhood. As teenagers, she had started dating the neighbor boy and basically as soon as they turned into adults she got pregnant (with triplets. again.) and they got married.

Well. Her husband started staying out super late and acting really suspicious, and she was starting to feel super sad and anxious about it, so she went to her brother's house to vent to him and lean on him for comfort and support. And guess what she found as soon as she walked into the house.

Her husband—the love of her life, the father of her 3 kids—and her brother—her best friend in the whole world, her one true confidant—were there, making out on the couch RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER 🤨🤨🤨

So she beat her brother's ass and divorced her husband on the spot and now she doesn't talk to either of them. She's doing good now tho, she found an artist dude who she married and had kids with. I'm actually in the middle of building them a new home but eugh...I hate building...

Anyways now I'm focusing on tending to her kids and priming one of them to be my new main character once she ages up to young adulthood. She's gonna be a lesbian who meets her future wife in college 🥹🥹 and they're gonna have a cute little farm together.

So yeah! That's all the games that I'm actively playing rn. I could tell you about my other long, crazy generational one that I stopped, but we'd be here forever if I did :P

So, this fangame I picked up playing after seeing a couple of people playing through it and man, it's quite nice playing through Kanto yet again but this time it's with weird strange freaks you make with the fusions in a fangame.

Classic Mode was actually a little harder than Randomized but it may be because I was playing on the dumbest setting possible with Randomized, so it ended up with me seeing a million legendaries and getting to the point where I just wasn't really pleased to see a legendary or mythical anymore.

It was still fun, mind you, it was just really funny having a second playthrough be seeing previously rare Pokémon become exceedingly common.

#12: Sludge Life

This game was on my radar for a good while but I kind of forgot about it as though I had suffered a weird fever dream about cigarettes, cats with two buttholes (no, seriously), and graffiti. It did come back onto said radar later on when it released on Steam but was drowned out by the noise of other games at the time (I honestly forgot what was there at the time.)

Then it became free. So, I guess I took the opportunity to do so before the period of when it was free came to an end and it was an enjoyable walking sim of sorts, I like these kind of weird games where you do stuff and just generally explore an area without much lore to go off on.

Maybe now that the sequel is out, I'll probably grab it once my radar empties, sadly, I got Pikmin 4 and AC6 on the horizon so that may be a while...

So, I think I remember trying to play They Hunger solo several times back in the day but I could never complete it because I was not very skilled or knowledgable about operating my own private listen server back then.

Either that or I lacked the motivation to play through it.

However, with Kaelyn and Armored in tow, we completed the campaign for They Hunger over two sessions, although we eventually had to use a walkthrough to figure out where to go next because there were times when conveyance was pretty bad.

It was very quaint and enjoyable for what it is, certainly not something to write home about in this day and age but the fact that this existed in the first place waaay back then, I can truly appreciate that.

#14: Dungeon Defenders

Multiplayer? Yes, with Armoreddragon99

Now, I should iterate that this is the ORIGINAL version, not the remake, not the other branch, the ORIGINAL, with all of its flaws and issues on full display.

It's kinda fun and enjoyable still, feels loads better than its successor, Dungeon Defenders 2, which kind of... I dunno, there's something that's felt off about it.

#15: Toontown Corporate Clash

Toontown Online is one of those games that kind of sit in my subconscious and only surfaces from time to time, much like stuff like Maplestory, Neopets, Kartrider (RIP OG), and maybe a few others I neglected to mention.

Now, Rewritten was the first private server I've played after TTO's servers had shut down and while I liked it for what it was, which was a nearly-pure vanilla gameplay, I felt like I had been spoiled by other more modern MMOs and it was a little rough trying to get into a groove with it. Couple that with my social anxiety and, well, I've never made much progress into Rewritten. Heck, I've yet to leave TTC there and the furthest I've gotten recently is my bear toon named Flint who is halfway through his Sound track training!

Enter: Corporate Clash. I've seen this private server variant float around for a while and thought the concept felt interesting but never really got into it until The First (Second? Third? I lost count...) Twitter Exodus and I came onto Tumblr.

You see that toon in the second screenshot, Loopy Lancelot? Yeah, that's a toon belonging to photondoesstuff, who I follow here on Tumblr, whose reblogs and likes kept putting TTCC content on my dashboard, most notably these stranger looking cogs that were classified as managers.

Combine that with the drive to see Sads the Skelecog (who is now gone from canon forever so I'll never see him now 😔), and I created my first proper toon on there, a non-binary deer who now joins the ranks of my OCs because god knows I need more of them. I'm still debating on whether I should change their name or not but this isn't the post for it.

I really loved how much they changed the game, they took the entire Toontown game, stripped it down to its components and basically said "How far can we push this game to its limits?" and they've largely succeeded.

The main taskline was an easy and clear goal, the manager fights were fun and not Sound Meta Sound Meta Sound Meta (Still have that in Cog Facilities and HQ Cog Waves (Up until Bossbot, at least)), there were more cosmetics to play around with, there's stickers, choosing your gag tracks was great and having them all levelled and KEEPING their experience if you respec was amazing, and there's still more to this if their teasers about 2.0 content is to be believed.

Sure, you get the Ship of Theseus problem with Corporate Clash where you ask if this is still Toontown even when it has been majorly reworked but I still think it has some Toontown Online DNA still in there, for better or worse, and I'm okay with that.

Okay one veeery small hater moment from me but it isn't really much of a hater moment but more of a disappointment irritation moment for a manwha genre that I've been chillin deep into it's rabbit hole, aka Otome Isekai (shortened to oi) is when I found this manwha that I already forgot the title of out of pure irritation that I somehow just blacked it out. The premise was basically like: I got trapped in a dating sim I played in my past life for 3 years when my first playthrough turned out a fail and I got sent back to the past to retry until I get a good ending for the character I possessed that's a side character of the game. And I'm so tired of failing, I don't need love to get my happy ending!

Like-- from the description alone it was pretty generic. And I, being the veteran that I am with generic oi manwha, already Knew what I'm about to get once I go in there, but I was like: "Maaaybe it'll turn out okay, I should check the comments." And there was a TON of comments with 4-5 star ratings, all of em praising the writing and everything and sayin that "it's far better than what the description says," so I was like: Oh okay that's good then! Time to check!

So I read through chapter 1, what the fuck is going on. The description made the story seem more interesting ngl, like I thought the fl has been going at it for 3 years with how it was worded, like she's just been met with several failures cuz of how the actual description made it seem how tired she's been but no. The story starts with her SECOND PLAYTHROUGH. So I'm like: "??? Maybe this is just the prologue" so I kept going until chapter 2.

What The Fuck Is Going On. The description also made it seem that she won't be going after any of the guys btw but by the end of chapter 1 and the start of chapter 2, she's already thinking of going after ANOTHER guy to achieve her happy ending and I'm like: "HUUUH???" cuz apparently the first guy she wanted to get together with in her first playthrough was your average "irredeemable trash" in an oi so like OKAY??? WHY WAS THE DESCRIPTION WORDED LIKE THAT.

And I remember keeping going until like-- chapter 3? chapter 4? or whatever, cuz the comments kept saying that "oh this story is soo good it's such a breath of fresh air from the other ois" And I got so blindsided by that one scene in a chapter titled "Ten Days" (hey aria how come you can remember that but not the manwha title or chapter number? cuz wait for it--) THE FL HAS BEEN UNCONSCIOUS FOR TEN DAYS!!! AND SHE JUST WALKED OUTTA BED LIKE NOTHIN!!! TEN DAYS!?!!? orz... that chapter bewildered me so much it's like it wiped the entire memory I've had of that manwha from before I read through it cuz wHAT THE FUCK???

Her family (which was the typical "neglectful family but is redeemable after getting a wake up call when the fl started ignoring em so now they're trying to make amends") was sittin by her bedside along with the typical "maid that's always on the fl's side no matter what and she's bubbly" and they were all distraught, the maid crying and everything and when the fl just stood outta bed with no consequences to the fact that she's just been laying there FOR TEN! DAYS! and everyone not even batting an eye at the fact that she's already up and at em when she's been unconscious FOR TEN DAYS!-- I'm never letting that go-- I was like: Holy stars this story is... people are blind-- And clicked outta that thing so fast it just got yeeted from my memory until I remember bout the ten days again.

Trans Kavkaz

This post is written from the subjective position of an west european person. Many might not understand. But for me it was the pure horror to travel with Trans Kavkaz. Personal thing. Might not apply to you.

Trans Kavkaz offers bus rides from Tbilisi to Vladikavkaz. They are an russian company and charge 2000 rubel aka 20€ for a ride. You can book via whatsapp. They are friendly and kind.

About the driving. He does 90 in a 50 Zone. Also in towns with dogs, children and or cows.

He turns over whatever gets in front of him. Whenever. Where ever.

Even on the mountain roads when there is an 50 meter cliff just centimeters besides of you. He wont hesitate to go 90 in a 40 zone and turn over

And yes of course you cannot see if there is something on the other lane. There pits all the time. He just 'trusts' that there will be no truck to kill us all

Once there WAS a truck. We just moved back to the right, pushing the car to our right off the lane. It was pure luck that there had been 1 meter of gravel before the cliff. Otherwise that guy would had been dead.

I will never. NEVER drive with this company again. I will never even drive this road again knowing, people like him are out there. I would never ever cross this area in general again. I feel happy for everyone that feels like this is nothing special. For the others in the bus it was nothing special.

Hell!

The Border

I hopped out the bus. Kissed the ground a few times. Was able not to puke. Showed my Passport and E-Visa. They had some questions, that s why I had to come to the back office for someone that could translate. In fact they just wanted to know where I want to go and why. China and Tourist was okay as response.

Vladikavkaz

In Vladikavkaz I got kicked out of the bus since my special threatment on the boarder had caused some delay in the schedule and he had to make up for it.

The city itself is an 100% Soviet Style city and is wonder full and clean. I had no trouble getting an Russian sim card near the central bus Station (in a Mal to the south) and if the first Taxi would not have put me to the wrong KFC I would also had no issue with getting to my hostel that I booked online.

I would really liked to spend more time here. I even saw gaming Shops where you could play PC games.

If only. Well. There was not this bad feeling. Not only the near dead bus ride I just had. But also the bigger issues. It's so sad. I still don't understand the 'why' behind all this actions. I wish I could enjoy this part of my journey without this huge shadow lingering around.

Rock Hostel

I simply selected the Rock hostel because with 7€ a night it was the most cheap option to book from outside of Russia. I somehow expected it to be an ugly thing like the Train-Hotel in Georgia. Maybe worse. With probably fleas and stuff. You know. For that price and seeing hotels being worse.

But no. ROCK Hostel ROCKS!

Its location? Close to the tourist sections. Its price? Unbeatable!

The whole thing is inside an old industry building with 5 meter high walls. They use this extra space to introduce 3 level Beds. 3 Levels! I Love this shit. I love the whole, very clean industrial style of the Building. The general room has an kitchen with everything. The bathrooms and toilets are clean and they offer water and snacks right into the hostel.

For me it was 12 out of 10. It shows how much you could do with such an place. Thank you so much.

And last but not least: They have an washing machine and a dryer just for free use. I was able to finally wash my stuff. This alone deserves pure love.

Summary

Very intense Day. I spend 7€ for the whole thing. How? Because Transhellkaz forgot to take my money. And to be honest: When kicked out if was so deep in shock. I simply forgot. Sorry for being not sorry about being not sorry.

For this money you could just buy any Lego mini figure. Any. Or an booster pack. Have fun.

ohmigosh, your sims are all adorable!! and i love their stories so much :) i used to lovingly tolerate 3 bc i had a pretty low-spec computer so it was very laggy, but now i have an actual gaming laptop and 3 isn't compatible anymore, so i play 4 all the time. i've also got a ton of mods (99% clothing and hair bc i'm addicted to dressing my sims up), including the ones you mentioned - they're such a big help when it comes to gameplay, i love them <3

thank you!! <33 haha yeah i remember sims 3 was SO laggy and took like 20 minutes for me to boot up every time, i still have a subconscious mindset of "okay, once i load up sims i can't exit out of the game until i'm fully 100% done playing for the day because it's not worth trying to load it twice in one day" even though 4 only takes a couple minutes to load. and i totally feel you, dressing my sims up is one of my top favorite parts of the game, and there's so much amazing cc out there!

oh, i just realised i forgot to answer your question: i'm an aging on simmer, but i think i might turn it off bc i too prefer just starting up new households rather than going through generations. i am very much an autonomy off girlie, though; i tried leaving it on, but the control freak in me likes micromanagement too much 😅 this is my last one, i promise: can you tell me if having autonomy on makes storytelling more interesting? i pick a bunch of traits that should make my sims more/less compatible, but for some reason they don't react to things the way i want them to (then again some of the traits are modded ones rather than base game ones so that might be partly the reason, they don't always seem to have an effect on sim behaviour)

you should give aging off a shot to see how you like it! i like my current system of having aging off in one save file and aging on in a different one so i can have it both ways and do my legacy challenge properly without messing with my rotational freeplay households. when i have aging off i do still age up my sims using a birthday cake, but i just do it whenever i feel like they're ready for the next life stage rather than the game having a set day that's their birthday. so it can get kinda weird if my sim is going to high school with the same teens her mom went to high school with because i aged their household up manually but everyone else is immortal djkfg but i don't usually last more than 2 generations in a single family so for me it's not much of an issue!

and i SO know what you mean about liking micromanagement too much haha i definitely still micromanage my sims even with autonomy on! so in that respect it can be challenging if you're constantly trying to stop them from doing things you don't want them to do. i like it especially for large households because if i can't keep track of everybody, having autonomy on will make them eat on their own when they get hungry etc whereas i believe if it's off they'll just die unless i specifically tell them to eat. as for whether it makes storytelling more interesting, yes and no, i also feel like traits don't have a huge effect on storytelling and autonomy on doesn't really change that too much, i don't think (besides a couple, like goofball sims keep trying to prank toilets with autonomy on, romantic sims are more likely to autonomously flirt, and i'm guessing mean or evil sims would keep being autonomously mean, but i never make mean or evil sims because i'm too soft haha).

i think social interactions are the area where autonomy on most spices up gameplay because your sim might randomly flirt with or be mean to someone you didn't expect them to (especially if they're in certain moods, being in a flirty mood makes them extra likely to autonomously flirt with someone and being in an angry mood makes them extra likely to autonomously be mean). this can be a fun way to throw in some curveballs, or it can also be infuriating if your sim decides to flirt with some rando right in front of their spouse and now the whole marriage is in shambles djkfg i would say if you're thinking of testing out autonomy on, maybe give it a go with a 1-2 sim household to start so that you can get a sense for what autonomy on is like, but it's a small enough household that it's easy to keep an eye on everybody and prevent them from going too off the rails!

Cw: eating disorder (kinda?)

(Sorry if this post makes no sense my english sucks lol)

So i've had bad eating habbits on and off for most of my life (idk if i'd call it an ed but like i'd obssess over calories, starve myself, try to throw up, etc.) But i haven't done that in quite a while now (except for a few minor slip ups). And for the most part i haven't been thinking about it all the time like i used to. And I really thought i was done with all that.

But recently i changed adhd meds and one of the side effects of the new meds is that it makes me less hungry and have less of an appetite. And now i can't stop thinking about it. There was a day a couple weeks ago when i genuinely forgot to eat for the whole day and the moment i realised that it felt so... familiar. And strangely comforting. Like an old friend. I didn't realise i'd missed that feeling so much. And all of a sudden i'm spiralling back again. I've barely been eating except for when my mom makes lunch (which hasn't been happening a lot recently cause she's busy (and my dad doesn't cook because patriarchy lol)). I didn't eat much yesterday (and i think maybe a few days before that? I'm not sure) and i haven't eaten today (it's afternoon as i'm writing this). And i feel so light and my stomach feels empty and my body feels weak, which isn't supposed to be a good thing but it feels like it. When i came back home today i just had to stop at the store and buy a bunch of 0cal energy drinks because for some reason it feels really good drinking them on an empty stomache, and they also make it easier for me not to eat. I tell myself that i'm not doing it on purpose, that i genuinely just forget to eat. But come on, we know that's not true. It's on my mind all the time, i'm very aware that i'm not eating enough. It's not like i have a problem eating, i just feel less hungry. And i could force myself to eat a normal amount if i really wanted to.

I don't look at my body very often and i still don't (honetly i'm terrified to) but recently i've been constantly staring at my wrists, seeing how much smaller they got, how my bones stick out more.

And i don't even think it's really about losing weight this time, i've (for the most part) pretty much accepted my chubbier body. it's the sense of familiarity. I was addicted to that empy feeling for such a large amount of my life and it's just so comforting to feel that way again. It feels like coming back home. And seeing my body change, even though i didn't really mind the way it looked before, feels like an accomplishment, seeing the physical effect of what i'm doing.

I don't have a conclusion for this or anything, i just wanted to get the words out and share these thoughts with someone. And i can't talk about it to anyone irl without them worrying and trying to stop me so yeah;-;

I could say a lot more but honestly i'm tired of writing and i wanna go play the sims lol. (unrelated but the meds also kinda made me obssess over the sims?? Like I've been hyperfocusing on it almost every day since i started taking them. Anyway i'm not complaining, at least i get some dopamine for once lol. And it's not like i have anything better to do;-; )
