my thoughts on the presence (or rather, lack thereof) of dub-con in alfons’ route in en

thank you for the ask anon! since it contains spoilers for al’s route, i will put under a cut. also it is a long post!

hi anon! i did notice this, yes! they also made changes to some other scenes as well for a similar purpose. as far as i heard, it is sort of a general trend for the en localization to water down scenes that may be considered dub- or non-con; apparently, they have done this with other ikémen series games like iképri.

in alfons’ case, though, i have some mixed feelings overall abt doing so in this route. i hope i can explain myself ok!

on one hand, i think making it more “soft” so to speak does make it feel more accessible for readers in the western fanbase, who in general seem more sensitive (?) to the presence of dub- or non-con, compared to japan. i would honestly love for many people to be able to read his route and not feel super uncomfy? while doing so. so in this respect, i can get behind this decision.

that said.

i feel like other aspects of the story have been sacrificed as a result of this. i believe that, in the original story, scenes play out the way they do for a reason. if there is dub-con, they probably arent putting it all in just for the teehee dubious consent teehees. for example, part of what made this story interesting to me in the japanese version was that against the so-called conventional notion, sex was not used as a means to bring characters closer together, but more so as a way to make them more distant. theres this sort of irony and a theme of isolation (ironically in part due to sex) that i felt was more apparent in japan, in part highlighted due to the dub-con. i feel like making kate want this beforehand is more safe, yes, but also it sort of waters down this irony a bit compared to japan imho.

another consequence is in kate’s character. i think its kind of a strange change that in some parts of the story surrounding those scenes, kate is pretty insistent on facing reality to the fullest, but then one ask from alfons and shes ready to indulge in a fantasy, away from reality, as she asked for it. but despite that, she tries to push him as far away as she can. it sort of makes me feel there’s a gap or blip in her character if that makes sense. part of what made these scenes dub-con maybe is how alfons wanted to give an escape to kate via sex, but kate didn’t want that escape bc she wants to face reality. it creates more conflict between them.

part of kates character development in alfons’ route, too, is going from being staunch in the start of the story, to learning, questioning, and deciding for herself what is considered right? and what is considered wrong? as the story progresses. but with the whole kate wanting it since the beginning, this flaw is sort of lost since the start, making her development feel a bit more static, as by her saying yes to alfons since the beginning, it already establishes her as someone who wants to see reality, but also knows to see the benefit in an escape or a fantasy, when this is sort of what she is meant to develop into by the end.

ftr im not saying these things r completely lost! just that they feel a bit watered down? a bit less engaging? if thats the word, as a kinda byproduct of softening up the dub-con scenes. so i feel the impact may be a bit less compared to japan. but, again, i do understand why they chose to make such changes as well to en.

overall, i dont hold very negative thoughts abt it. nor do i really fully like it either. maybe its bc i play on both servers, but i feel like en just… doesn’t get an experience you could get in japan, which kinda gives me mixed feelings in a way as well, i suppose. i kind of feel that en deserves to read what was dished out in japan, without it being chosen for the fanbase what should be hidden from them (had there not been fan translators translating stuff more “word for word.”)

He just loved being so close to you, holding you and just watching whatever you were doing, it was almost like his way of studying what you liked.

"Just reading something. It's a love story and truthfully it reminds me of us." You leaned back into him, laying your head back so you could see his reaction...to your surprise...he had a slightly mischievous look.

"Do they? I suppose it isn't to difficult, our romance is truly out of a novel...do they happen to get married in the end?"

Your heart skipped a beat and suddenly you felt flustered, "Yes...why do you ask?"

"Just wondering if it's as accurate to our love story."

"You arranged your teapot?!" You were in awe, unable to even form a coherent thought as you looked at the now beautifully decorated surroundings. Xiaos domain had originally never changed since he received his teapot, in fact he almost never used it as he preferred to sleep outside. He was originally going to give it to you...say you could build a home for the two of you to live together, but then something had changed his mind.

"I'm...sorry if it's not perfect. I was going to ask for help from the other adepti, but I decided I wanted it to be my own creation. My creation of the perfect spot for us..."

Your cheeks became dusted with a light pink as he spoke, he'd made the perfect spot for the both of you...and he'd done so in the perfect way. "Xiao I love it! We are going to live here together right! This will be our home!" You couldn't contain your excitement, you wanted to run into the home in the middle and squeal, but he seemed to have something else to say.

"Yes...but it's also more than that." He stepped closer to you, his hand gently intertwining with yours as he stared deeply into your eyes...he captivated your attention so easily when he did this, "I want this to be the place of our wedding. The place where we make our promise..."

"Can I open my eyes yet?" You groaned quietly, trying to peek through the cracks in Wanderers fingers as he lead you deeper into the forest, to a area you'd thought was off limits. You didn't know what had gotten into him, why he was so keen on making sure you couldn't see anything until he said so...why he seemed so absolutely and utterly nervous. He never got nervous, flustered maybe, but nervous? Maybe he was plotting something, "You're not trying to kill me are you?"

"What in teyvat are you talking about? If I wanted to kill you do you really think I'd go through the effort of bringing you here?"

"Maybe. Maybe I'd know if I could see where here is..."

The letters were definitely wonky and some of the words weren't even spelled right, but it clearly read, "Will you marry me?" You spun around to meet Wanderers gaze and he simply smirked at you, "Answer my question dummy~"

"Kazuha what is this place?" You gasped softly, taking in the vibrant hues of pink trees and the sweet smell of tea brewing, even the grass somehow held a magical feel due to its light blue tint. How this all could be in a cave was beyond your understanding, but of course it didn't surprise you, Kazuha had a way of finding the most beautiful hidden spots and he always enjoyed sharing them with you.

"It's one of the few places in Inazuma that I could come to after the decree had been set in place. It became a important part of my life, somewhere I could hide out and write my hymns and sorrows. Now I come back to show that the darkest part of my life has ended and is now replaced with the most bright and wonderful light. You of course being my light butterfly, I thought it only fitting to bring you here for this.."

Your eyes widened slightly, during his small speech he'd gotten more nervous...and then towards the end he seemed downright flustered, which was so different than his normally calm collected personality. "Bring me here for what?"

He smiled shyly at you, feeling like his heart might explode as he kneeled before you, retrieving the ring he had hand crafted for this very moment. He could tell you were beyond shocked and he hoped dearly that it was in a good way, "Will you marry me butterfly? I need my light in the dark...I cannot see any future without you..., every thought of the next day is centered around you and the love I can give you. Please, allow me to love you...forever and always."

-when youre confessing you arent actually intimidated by him, even if he is just starring at you quietly waiting for your confession to end so he could return your feelings. he actually has this aura that somehow calms you even if youre in a situation that should make you extremely nervous. of course youre still stuttering, but not as much.

-as youre confessing he feels extremely warm inside. ever since he joined the Demon Slayer Corp he has been constantly surrounded by hate, but he gets a break whenever hes around you. he just wants to embrace you and feel that way all the time.

-the way you shyly praise him is what keeps him going. you in general is one of the main reasons he keeps going, he wants to live a quiet happy life with you. and he would do anything he can to obtain that.

-and he verbally expresses that; he walks over, and gently places his hand on the back of your head to bring you closer to him. "as long as your by my side ill do anything to protect you, so we could live a peaceful life"

-he doesnt mind the way you act at all, even though to others you may seem childish or insecure. he knows its something thats normal and doesnt bash you for it, he would rather worry anout you (and Yuji) than anything else.

not sure if they failed to clap or if jxk dodged on purpose, hes been doing that. lg does take his hand after unlike the 1st. they play rps as they roll out, cxs gladly slaps lg but runs away when its his turn to get slapped.

they fuck up the first heart again.

for once sofa song starts with entire trio on the sofa, lg makes cxs massage him as well. and ql is massaging cxs. is this too many photos i promise im normal.

during the next bit cxs has to drag lg over to sing, sometimes he comes over on his own sometimes ql calls him and them he goes. but this version is my fave.

lg wins all three rounds of rps, he looks so happy lol, he lost all rounds recently so this must feel great. also he slaps cxs very gently, but cxs still acted like it hurt

during rps song cxs has a very special prop... i knew that was around somewhere but i havent seen it used so thank you jxk. the rest of the cast all falling over lmao.

lg jukes(is that the correct word?) cxs during the handshake, this happens often. i think it happened on all 3 days here why is he so suprised.

then during the bow, im not sure what theyre doing like arm wrestling in air? lg calls him childish before the next song begins. during which jxk makes ghx cup his mic, this happened before but this time there is no excuse. they cup mics while singing so it sounds better ig, but not everyone does it. or maybe they do i havent been watching chronologically until now. also i like that theyre making group effort during introductions at the end usually its lg actor introducing everyone and well, i get it forgetting names.

jsk jukes the highfive at the start, but offers his hand a bit later, ghx rightfully slaps it away. i like when the trio holds hands as they roll out for the end of that song. also they fucked the heart up, or so it seems but ghx was looking and did that on purpose, why, that i cant say.

during sofa song cxs retaliates by pinching lg back, im glad, they always bully him in that bit, cxs actors should fight back more often. cxs has to drag lg to sing with ql, and ql pushes cxs and he falls of the table. very animated fall i was rooting for him.

lg does not win one round of rps, and goes to sulk, while cxs happily dances. this time it is lg who jukes cxs during the clap.

idk what theyre doing during the bow, but i hear pain noises and audiance laughing. when the lights turn on they arent in their spots, lg maybe accidentally jumpscares cxs, i really cannot figure out what was happening.

Dazai stood on top of a grassy meadow, he wore a brand new dark blue haori on top of his kimono which had the ukiyo-e of a tsunami imprinted on it.

You made your entrance with your cherry blossom kimono gracefully shaping out your body, the obi was a soft shade of yellow and the decorative obi string was neatly tied into a flower shape with your hair tucked all up into a bun with a sakura kanazashi.

The cherry blossom tree`s lantern which was dangling from a branch finished your look entierly.

Dazais eyes lit up as he turns to you, a soft pink brushing over his light tanned skin.

"My gorgeous, you finally came haven`t you,,,come sit down" he says in a much lower and calmer voice.

"You seem genuine tonight, Dazai" you remark as you gently sit beside him

Usually lovers in japan wear fancy and modern clothes on valentines day but for a lovely spot like this with a freshly bloomed cherry blossom tree, some traditonal kimono suites better.

You both had a long conversation, so long the lantern which was the only source of light burns out as pretty pink and red firworks paint the night blue sky.

Dazai laughs.

Before you could pronounce your words dazais lips meet yours, you could tell what this feeling was but it was so addicting so comforting that it made you melt onto the kiss like a chocolate.

Well im Nightdust!! my main fursona is this guy above me, he is called Nightdust Fallen, he is a breed of a husky and a wolf, making him extremely fluffy and puffy! The reason for his name is by the fact that (in my head canon or lore) he came from a bunch of fallen space star dust, hence why he likes space so much and staring at the stars, he also has some sort of ice magic i havent fully fleshed out yet, one thing i can say tho is that when he sneezes, he does it softly and he puffs out small ice snowflakes and can freeze things he touches he is also supposed to wear glasses like me but i suck at drawing those and forgot to include them here anyway so

He is very shy, doesnt talk much but is very protective of his very close friends and would do anything to protect them and make sure they're safe, he is a femboy (of course), enjoys listening to calm relaxing music and high octane electronic music at times, is a gamer, likes cuddling up in bed and i think that's it

I enjoy drawing obviously, but i also enjoy cooking stuff and origami, i play a lot of roblox usually to pass time but a game i really got into is "Voices of the Void" i really recommend but it's not for everyone, i like the game's concept and how detailed the space is there. For some reason, a lot of the time i am cold, my hands, feet, nose and limbs overall are very cold which is why i thought about giving my oc some ice magic thing. I am taken, in a relationship with my cutie bunny bf, and my sexuality is bisexual. He's the second youngest of all his brothers

He generally tries to look like a clown (hence why he has a smiling face complete with eyes and his brothers don't) that way children don't feel scared around him

He's truly great with everyone, not just kids

He has his own mansion, but instead of angsty emos, his house is more of a safe space for all of the unwanted or unhappy children

9'6" so very tall

I imagine his voice to sound like a mixture of Sundrop and Cheese sandwich

He smells familiar, no specific scent, just something you know you've smelt before but can't quite place your finger on

He visits Slender at his mansion the most, usually bringing candies for everyone

He's become known as "That guy with the face and full snickers bars" around Slender's mansion

So he identifies as "male" and has traditional male anatomy

6'2", so he's definetly not the tallest creep. but he's up there

His fingers are long and slender, as well as long nails that help him with sewing

Honestly that post summed it up pretty well I don't think I have much to add. Plus I don't really feel right breaking it down myself when I haven't actually read up on this stuff properly. However you asked and so I will indulge just don't take any of it seriously this is all very armchair psychology of me.

I think Scarlet Pearl potentially has some persecutor traits, especially when combined with the whole self-harm metaphor thing. I really like this article and especially the part about empathizing with persecutors and giving them a guiding hand in learning to protect in more constructive ways instead of disregarding their feelings.

Gem's crush is explicitly on the Scarlet Pearl alter and not the whole system.

Most of the cast (if not all of them) are unaware of her being a system. I think the ones closer to her would realise something was up but not be able to put it into words, hence the "you acted CRAZYYY" stuff. Host Pearl herself might also be only acutely aware.

Scarlet Pearl fronted for almost all of DL and the ending where she says she "forgives" Scott is host Pearl returning to front, hence her confusion and inconsistent "forgiveness" in following seasons (she doesn't remember everything that happened in DL).

FYI this isn't really a headcanon I super duper subscribe too and more one of those "this could be a thing" ones I think about for a day or two, but a lot of these traits (the memory issues, the different versions of Pearl) independently are like. mainstays of my view of Pearl's character which is why I think I found system Pearl interesting to think about in the first place.

My current belief is that something is definitely happening in that direction but she's not 100% a system, after all I do think Scarlet Pearl specifically started off more or less as performative (and returns to being performative at times too -- such as in LimL) but took on a life of her own as time went on. She is an identity Pearl created to protect herself but I don't usually think of her as an alter necessarily. Which is why I'm happy other people are out there fighting for system Pearl. She can join aromantic scott in Liau's list of headcanons that aren't mine but share narrative parallels.

"i can land you one of my books if you wanna read anything" he said, reaching for the small stavk of the few books he had brought with him on the hunting trip, but you stopped him before he got to it. "nah im good, but thanks" you said giving him a warm smile. "oh, okay, but what are you going to do? go to bed or something?" and he did. while his voice alone didnt help you fall asleep, it at keast calmed you quite a bit to say the least. you previous shifting in search for the perfect position to sleep in had been long forgotten as sam read to you. sometimes he would pause to explain certain paragraphs before moving on to reading from the book once again, but if you were being honest you were not sure when the reading woult resign and the comments regarding the events of the book would flod your senses, but you didnt mind.

after some time, he asked you in a shushed tone if you fell asleep, seeing as your breathing had stabilized and softened. on the contrary tough, you were very much awake, so you responded to his question mocking tone he used. "yea, im very much asleep right now, thank you for asking" .

he smiled as he lightly smacked your shoulderblade. you scoffed in fake annoyance as you rolled out of bed, heading for the fridge to get some cold water out.

opening the fridge door you asked him "you want some water too?"

"no, im good. but thanks tough!" he flashed you a quick smile.

getting the bottle out, you returned to your side of the bed before opening the water. what you didnt know was that it was sparkling water, and it exploded all ober you and your side of the bed when you tried to take a drink.

sam couldnt control himself, so the first thing your now wet self heard was him snorting, trying not to full on laugh.

you sighed loudly before closing the remaining contents of the bottle and sitting back up. "ugh, oh shit" you said as you glanced at the sheets on your side of the bed. "im sorry, fuck" "yea, yea, its fine, dont worru about it" he said tough his mind focused on something far more important: your now wet shirt clinging to your body, showning off the shape he had came to love so much but could only feel whenever the two of you hugged.

he quietly observed you desperetly look for something, until, he realized what he was doing, so he shamefully looked away, all of a sudden being very interested in the color of the walls surrounding the two of you.

"sam, have you seen my stuff?" "huh? oh... yea, i think its in the car. do you want me to go get it for you?" he asked you, forgeting for a moment his brothers usual antics of taking the car and speeding off intro the night. "but didn't dean take it?-" "oh shit you're right..." he mumbled, sitting (his goofy ahh) back down. "what did you need?" he asked you grabbing his duffle bag to look for something to substitute your missing item. "a dry shirt I guess, my shorts aren't that wet" you said signaling to the wetness of the long sleeve top you were wearing in comparison to the slight dampness of your pajama bottoms. he gave you a quick nod before briefly looking for something to give you. he landed on his purple t shirt that had an also freakishly purple dog printed on it which you accepted gratefully.

you left the room for a minute, going to the bathroom where you changed your top.

the way his clothes swallowed you was just another reminder of the already obvious size difference between the two of you, the shirt almost covering your shorts entirely with how long it was on you. you sighed in content as you walked out, wet shirt in hand as you reach one of the two chairs by the desk. you used it to hang the pice of clothing up to dry before sitting on the other chair.

sam raised a curious eyebrow at you before asking "what do you think you're doing?" you looked at him confused before he patted the bed, motioning for you to come sit with him. "sam, my side is like, soaking wet right now. I gotta wait for it to dry."

"who said anything about your side of the bed? come on we can share mine." His eyes met yours expectantly and he smiled kindly. you slowly got up and sat next to him, trying to take up as little space as you possibly could, to which sam grabbed your arm and pulled you to stay on top of him instead of on the almost non existent space left.

your breath hitched the second your head came in contact with his chest, one of his arms holding you in place as the other one still held the book he had been reading to you earlier. "you wanna read it with me or do you want me to read it to you?" "or, a 3rd option would be you shut up" you smiled into his chest. God, why does he have to smell so good? you asked yourself before realising what had just ran trough your head. "but, I guess the first option sounds good." unscebted soap and woods, thats the best way to describe the way he smelled at that moment. a warm woody musk leading you into him to explore his warmth. and with that his grip on your waist loosens, letting you turn around but not fully allowing you to escape his grasp.

His hand was flat on your lower abdomen, playing ever so slightly with the tie of your shorts, which you had tied into a loose bow, as you turned to face the book. his head rested on your left shoulder, his bangs touching your face, tickling you slightly making you giggle under your breath. his periodic breath fanned on your shoulder, and his body emitting such comfortable warmth, you could feel yourself finally getting tired. your body relaxed against his own, something he welcomed quickly, letting you rest your head on his chest and you finally drifted off to sleep.

Warning, rambling about the death note musical below i am mostly go on about my views on the english lyrics of the 2015 demo, and comparing them to my view of the japanese lyrics, so if anything I say contradicts newer changes, please let me know (also probably should have a general idea of how the musical is structured compared to the original story I realized afterwards I did not mention a ton of context)

on one hand, I adore the death note musical.

on the other hand, I abhor the english lyrics (yes I know the english version what technically created first) and how Light is characterized in “where is the justice”.

I wish his true motivation, boredom, had stayed the main focus of his motives, if they really wanted to they could have him say flowery things to the class and then have his actual motivations be mentioned, but they make it out like he has issues with the system? which he never really did? he latched the idea of ridding the world of crime (and in his eyes, evil) after he realized the death note worked, but he wasn’t someone who was actively challenging it before he got the death note (and imo he wasn’t really challenging anything after he got it). I personally hate the reasoning of “oh the motivation is different to fit with America” like?? a bored kid who is very gifted academically obtains supernatural powers and uses it to punish people he claims to be evil, can and does still work?? if they didn’t think it would work with America as a setting just have the musical still be set in Japan?? like Phantom of the Opera or Les Mis are performed in other countries that arent France but are obviously french?

ALSO hurricane is just… straight into murder mode without anything else from Light? nothing about the lyrics make me go “yes, this is actually light talking and this is his thought process after discovering the death note works” he goes straight into “I will use this power to rid the world of evil” instead of the moral conflict he had that led him into that thought process? he literally couldn’t handle the idea that he killed two men so he went “well actually they deserved it and I am the only person who could use this the right way” (dumbed down significantly but you get the point) just PLEASE I AM BEGGING FOR A LITTLE NUANCE THAT IS IN THE ORIGINAL STORY (and is in the japanese lyrics btw)

and (imo) L is also?? kinda off??? the english lyrics for “the game begins” just has generic lines that come across like “hey everyone, just so you know, im the detective, and I detect things, with my brain” like nothing about how he views kira, no personality to how things are said, just generic detective speak

(I personally prefer the japanese lyrics, which seem to draw a lot from his musings about kira, where he ultimately decides kira has to be human and cannot be a supernatural force. it just gives so much more insight into his thoughts than just explaining how a detective works)

(edit: also ties into “the unshakable/unwavering truth” and his shock at the existence of shinigami but still believing kira is human and separate from them)

also, why are so many of his lyrics 3rd wall breaks? why is that a thing? the first time it was amusing? but he does it so often??

misa and rem are pretty good overall, my only gripes are that the lyrics don’t feel like lyrics that can only make sense in the context of death note, if that makes sense? like, if you know what going on the lyrics will fit, but if you heard the songs outside of any knowledge of death note they just sound like generic songs that could have been written for anyone? (not just misa and rem’s songs but a few others as well) there are a couple of lines in each song that are more specific to the context, but I just wish they were further intertwined with the story

(again, the japanese lyrics are great with this)

overall, the english demo lyrics feel like a game of telephone where a lot of overall details were kept but other details/ideas were just brushed over and they filled in the blanks with what they thought fit with the story and went “eh, close enough”

(i do have thoughts on the other songs but i mostly just wanted to talk about L and Light atm)

👸- I'm breaking my rule of not talking about them for a hot second. I know this is lengthy, but I have a lot to say about how they are trying to drum up media by using fans.

It just occured to me we, the fans whoever is left, were used again. They saw pur comments about not giving them attention and adjusted thier strategy.

We all saw the photos discusses for maybe 180 minutes and then moved on. We all know they gave us what we all said last tine was missing/odd down to her out of place (we assume cause no one could actually see the dress) outfit and ridiculous heels to a "loving" hand hold flashing the ring.

But we all went theres a picture of before a possible kiss and after a possible kiss. But somehow they missed the money shot which many of us saw as in they didnt or whatever. Then we moved on to other topics and Then 24 hours later we get a video with 2 kisses and the video of said walking out.

THE PICTURE AND VIDEO OF THE KISS WAS HELD DELIBERTLY.

They did this deliberately to make sure fans talk about them for longer. Otherwise the picture of the kiss would have been released with all the others.

They did this because fans said that they arent going to give them and the poop show attention so it can go away faster. So what do thier teams do? Split up the relases. Usually outlets would have both whoever the pics were sold too usually gers the video but regardless the video is usually released at the same time.

And robert patterson who isnt media shy with his significant other went out the back to try and leave privately while the couple that says they are private didn't find a private way to leave.

We all saw her smirk and Chris' other language fans know so well. And if his body language starts changing again we will know it's because we all discussed it and the lurkers saw. If his body language doesnt change, that's a point in the win collum of it bejng true. Go ship. So congratulations, we all believe it is now true love!

The truth is no amount of papwalks can convince us anything other than someone seriously is holding something over Chris because I dont see any other reason why he's being forced to change to sell it. Its one thing to show up places, but having them try and act more like a couple from him is also another sign that its a sham. We have what 2 years' worth of videos to watch how they interact to compare to, so stop trying to give notes it makes everyone looks worse.

Real couples don't change what they wear and how they hold hands and act based on what fans say. Why because its idotic to do so no one wants to pretend to be aomeone they're nkt and destroys relationships as you can be who you are. And while im assuming that was gunna be the break uo angle- blame it on the fans you can't this time. Why?

After Britney Spears being forced to say she's fine for media ( a totally diffrent aituation minus that she was forced to lie that she is ok) and after Will smith and Jada revealed theyve seen seperated for 6 years but pretend theyre together for media reasons, people don't believe a lot of what's 'saud' ??and they especially dont believe/m and questjjn Hollywood couples like they used to

I have been so proud of the fandom or rather what is left to getting rid of the lablels and limiting our discussions.

Regardless if its her pr team CAA's team who is not only Chris' (as they are invested and actually have a distribution type role (i forget the exact name) in her new movie i teams really just proved how fake everything is and that they are lurking otherwise why would everything we all said across milti platforms tumblr, instagram and lipstick queen was suddenly included in this walk.

Do you want us to be convinced it's really a real relationship and they are just in the media to drum up press for thier releases?

Her movies is released in 2 more places one in the end of January. The other was supposed to be in February but when I just checked the date was removed. Othwewise I expect to see another dog and pony show on or around January 27th.

If we get nothing for two months including Valentine’s day and this included blurbs in mags/online or "sources". Putting nothing out there it will go a long way to convince people that they are a private couple and they are together.

If not and we get one as planned on or around the 27th....

IF YOU CONTINUE TO USE FANS LIKE THIS he won't have a career to go back to and all you press agents will be dropped because he wont have mkney to spend on people.. people who helped his career go down in flames. ok ok i've been inspired here is a big ramble about worldbuilding stuff that i think makes the resistance fight more interesting

under a read more bc 1) i need this to be sectioned into paragraphs and 2) i imagine this is gonna be WAY LONGER on a phone than it is on my laptop screen rn

okay so first of all. SCREW YOU SKYBLOCK TIME THAT'S REALLY BORING!! so skyblock goes through a year in about 5 days in our time. one day/night cycle is 20 real minutes. cool right? dante's reign lasted a little over 2 years! WRONG. admins are lame and decided that it's not an Actual year, it's literally a period of 5 days. one of the hub NPCs explains that the nights just go by REALLY fast here. BUT WHY WOULD A DICTATOR ONLY BE ELECTED FOR LIKE 12 DAYS THAT'S SO LAME, A 2YR PERIOD GIVES THE SITUATION SO MUCH MORE URGENCY... i think it's more fun to imagine being "logged in" puts you in an odd state of time where you experience more time than what passes. players stuck in the server were only gone for ~12 days but they Felt over 2 years go by. like that one training chamber in dbz or whatever

ALSO IMPORTANT. travel was banned by dante after a while. this meant that you were stuck wherever you were. 2 things of note here tho. 1) it's implied that all the islands including the player homes are connected physically, so theoretically you could fly to someone else's island, maybe even to the hub and back, if you were someone who could fly (maybe you have wings?) or if you have enough mana and dedication lol... but also point number 2. you could still log out, technically that's travel when you think of the servers/smps/etc as all being connected in some way. well that's no fun. imagine instead being fully cut off from the outside world. no chat to friends who arent logged in, no escape, nothing. there were probably poor outsiders who saw their friend suddenly disappear without a trace for a while. skyblock players are prone to do that, but they arent even available in chat?? that's not like them :/ augh i love it i love thinking abt ppl wondering where their friend went and they're like "lol sorry we had to kill some dictator. yea it was this whole thing. the admins all trapped us on the server too. no they were on his side. yea :/"

so anyways with that out of the way, think of how much more serious the resistance becomes with just those two changes. TWO YEARS dante spends making the place unlivable, slowly taking everything from you. money, pets, access to buildings (unless you pledge your allegiance to him of course), travel... but eventually you find out there's ppl who are planning on rising up against him. well why rise up, cant we just contact the admins? nope, no contact with the outside, we're trapped here. also, they're on his side anyways. yes, even simon. this resistance is gonna secretly make and distribute armor with the power to fight off dante. apparently he gets his energy from the moon or something. also dante banned the sun. dont ask how. either simon did that for him or dante has some very concerning powers. they have to get people with their cause without getting caught, but dante eventually puts out a notice that he caught word of a resistance brewing... so we got caught somehow. are there other people are on his side? one of our own reported us? well that might be a MASSIVE problem one day. could have also been an admin, since two of the generals live with one (aaaaand one of them would eventually become an admin. he also didnt lay a hand on dante during the fight despite being a general. hmmmmmmm)

it's all done and settled and things need to be rebuilt. everything is okay. someone put up a grave for dante, saying dante best of course. so his supporters live on. great, awesome, love that. but much worse than that. a goon was spotted in the main hub. no not the skyblock hub. the MAIN hub. outside of the skyblock realm. they escaped........

Context: You, Terry and John are all friends (you and Terry are secretly in love) but one day, John talks to you both about advice with a woman he's seeing 💚 (Contains talking about sexual references)

You and Terry were just relaxing and chatting on your lunch break in the cobra kai office. "So? Where is John today Terry?" "He should be hear soon, he said he was meeting up with a new lady friend of his" "Oooh! John's got himself a girlfriend?" "Hes definitely hoping" As your both chatting, John enters the dojo and walks over to the office where you both are. "Hey you two, listen, could I ask your advice on something?" You nod and say "Sure, did you want me to leave so you could talk to Terry?" "Actually I was hoping to ask for advice from both of you" You and Terry look at eachother before John takes a seat on the sofa next to Terry and your sat on the office chair.

"So I was just with lisa, this new woman I'm dating....but I'm a little unsure about something" "And what's that John?" Terry asks as he rests his hand on his shoulder. "Its been a long time since I've have been with a woman...you know, physically" Your understanding of him, but your a little confused as to why he wanted you stay and listen to this. "And I just wanted to ask you Terry, is there any advice you can give me?" "Well? How long has it been for her? Do you know?" "She said it's been a few months, but I dont want to disappoint her in the bedroom as it's been much longer for me" You put you drink down and ask him "Well what do you think she is going to be disappointed with John?" You were all close friends so this kind of talk didnt really shock you, but you hated that your friend felt insecure about himself. These days there is so much talk about size that men feel bad about themselves, and it's clearly affecting John. Terry says to him "Look John your size shouldn't matter, if she likes you for who you are then that's what matters" "I knew you'd say that Terry and I'm glad to hear your kind words, but that's also why I wanted Y/N's opinion too" "My opinion on what?" "Well your a woman, and you have had previous partners before. I want your complete honest opinion, does size really matter? Do I need to have a large one to make her happy?" You sit up straight in the chair and have a little think before opening your mouth, and they both watch you, and strangely Terry seems very interested in your answer.

"Hears the thing John, the way a woman thinks about size is very diffrent to how a man thinks about size. For example, I'm guessing your thinking you need to have much more length to be able to satisfy her?" "Yes! How did you know that?" "Because that's how a mans brain thinks. So a man will think that in order to please their woman they need to be like that, where as in reality, woman arent looking for that" "They arent?" "Nope. Me and my girl friends over the years talk about this stuff, and 99% of all of them, and other women who have discussed there sex lives, dont care about length, for them it's all about the girth" Terry and John look at eachother in utter suprise. Terry looks back at you and says "Your serious?" "Absolutely" It seems that both John and Terry seem very happy to hear this from you. John asks you "But why is that?" "Well ok. So women care more about gerth because they are able to experience more pleasure. Think of it as a hole and a screw, there is a hole that will only take a certain kind of screw length and size, and if something doesn't fit, it's not going to feel comfortable. So if a screw is too long, it will go in, but it wont necessarily fit, it doesn't work. Whereas if you get the screw with the right width and correct shape, it will fit in perfectly and it will be very comfortably in place" "Wow...so in that way, it's better to be a thicker screw than a longer one?" "Exactly, trust me, thats what most women prefer" John's shoulders slump down like he was releasing so much built up tention. "Thank you Y/N, I know this was a strange thing to come to you and ask but I'm really relieved to hear a woman's point of view on this" "Its no problem John" Even after your talk with John, your lunch break with him and Terry went on as usual. And when it was time to close up the dojo, Terry was just locking up the front doors while you and John stood next to him.

Narrator Design Process (so far (I need a second opinion))

Hello and welcome to this design journey of the Narrator from The Stanley Parable of course (this game is holding me hostage). Im going to take you through my process step by step. Why? Why not?

First I thought it would be fun to look at what the fandom has cooked up. Get a bit inspired and all that. I havent really looked into the fandom before, just saw a couple compilations that convinced me to buy the game. 

(I linked all of the artist at the end of this mess. Am I making this more complicated than it should be? Probably.)

I love the creativity of the fandom, there are so many different designs for the Narrator. I picked ones I found interesting or are somewhat similar to what I had in mind.

The next step was research, a lot of it actually. I read the fanwiki for information about the narrator, there might be hints at what he actually looks like that I simply missed. Turns out there isnt much, nothing to be precise. I refused to give up yet, so I decided to look up the voice actor of the Narrator: Kevan Brighting. The issue is there arent many pictures of him online(that I could find), which makes it hard for me to guess a bodytype. None the less I used Kevan Brighting as the base for my design. Judging from his twitter he likes being the Narrator and he did a phenomenal job in the game, so I think its fitting to honor him this way.

Since there arent many visuals to go off of I tried to guess more things about the Narrator based off of what he says, how he behaves and how he constructed the game. From here on out its heavy headcanon territory. The story the Narrator wrote takes place in an office building. In the first rooms it all seems normal, but the further down you go things get messy. Messy in the way that no actual building is built like that. In my headcanon the Narrator works in an office building where he spends a lot of time.mainly at his desk somewhere. He wants to be free of that job but somehow cant, so he wrote a little story about the office and the mind control facility and freedom. Through Stanley he can live out this freedom he cant have. If we boil this down to something that can be used for a design, its that the Narrator is an office worker, his outfit should reflect that. In the confusion ending you can also hear the Narrator rustling with paper, so I thought it would be fun to give him a clip board with paper where he organises his story. At the same time he forgets he has a clip board, so he writes on his arms. Many see this as rather childish, it reflects how childish he can be.

The idea I def wanted to adopt from the already existing designs is the headset. I find it very creative and fitting, as the Narrator is well, a narrator.

This is my second ref board. Here I also started to think about colors, and what else would be more fitting than the game itself? When I design something for myself I use colors I like and I bet the Narrator did the same, so I want to use the colors of the office building for his design. Here Id also like to state that in my headcanon the Narrator is left handed, because he wants Stanley to go trough the left door cuz it might come more naturally to him (because he is left handed).

The thing Im the most unsure about is the Narratos tie. In many designs its yellow, a great spot for an accent color and its a direct reference to the Adventure Line. And thats the thing- its the Adventure Line. The Adventure Line is its own entity with its own will, and Im unsure if I want to make it part of the Narrators design. On the other hand it is genius character design.

Here are my sketches so far (The sketches with arrows are the ones Im going with). As you can see the hair was a struggle, because I wanted it longer which did not work out as intended. The body type needed a bit too but I am satisfied with how it is in its current form. (I swear he is shaped like my religion teacher)

Just to make it clear, he scribbled on his arm but cant read it afterwards.

Okay Im not actually finished with the design yet because I want a second opinion. So please, if you have any suggestions, ideas or things youve noticed do let me know.
