#on a bike camper trip

My current mental distraction is based on developing my Pokémon trainer self-insert.
And because I’m me, the third step of this (after picking my team and starting the outfit design) was asking questions about how Bags and portable power works in-universe.
I haven’t watched the anime since the 90s, and while Bulbapedia has been awesome I can’t blame them for not having the answer to questions like “Does your bike fit into your Bag solely because it’s ‘collapsible,’ which is unlikely; is ‘collapsible’ a term for a specific shrinking tech used on the bike, or should we just assume the Bag is a bag of holding?”
(As Poké Balls “rel[y] on a Pokémon's natural ability to shrink down when scared or injured” and therefore not inherently indicative of shrinking technology existing in-universe, unless you count the ball itself shrinking?? Except that seems to be different between the anime and the games???)
And I ended up not picking any Electric type Pokémon, so what would be my options for power while traveling, and how much does this matter, and…
….
Yes, I’m Autistic, I’m a 43 year old woman randomly deciding to create a 20 something fantasy version of myself traveling around in a fantasy world with a bike, a bike camper, and six monsters themed around the idea of “Hybrids with two each being Ghost, Dark, or Psychic” because I think that would be fun.
And worrying about how I’m transporting my 20 lb weighted blanket.
That seems obvious. 😊

RHO (Ridin' Him Out) [Jake Seresin x NB Reader]
Tumblr media
A/N: Hope you hoes enjoy this blurb :> I will not apologize for the vice grip that fucking commercial has on me. I need someone to hit me with that goddamn truck.
Pt. 2
Word Count: 470
CW: Smut (semi-explicit), fingering, semi-public fucking, no beta we die like goose, etc
It isn’t your fault that Jake Seresin is an avid outdoorsman. It isn’t your fault that Hangman is an adrenaline junkie. And it certainly isn’t your fault that your boyfriend’s new truck is hot as fuck, especially covered in mud.
But what is your fault is how quickly you ended up in the bed of it, bare-bodied and panting like a hound.
You couldn’t help it. When the Dagger Squad decided to go out on their monthly camping trips, this time bringing their respective partners for a full week of fun, it was supposed to be easy. The layout was simple: Bob and Nat in their trailer, Bradley and his partner in the other trailer, Javy and his partner in a camper, Rueben and Mickey in their house-like tent, and you and Jake in the truck tent beneath the stars. Y’all had scored lucky and gotten spots right next to each other by the camp in Point Mugu — not an easy feat with the beautiful weather and like-minded people.
You expected the camping trip to be easy. You’d brought everything you might need: swimsuits, books, art supplies, games, your bikes, and your camera. With the view of the coastline right next to you and the heat of the fire-pits burning bright, everything was set so you and the rest of the Dagger Squad could relax and enjoy a break from the busy, everyday life of the world.
But that didn’t last very long.
Jake had just gotten back from taking his big truck out to go hunting with Bradley and Javy before this trip had started. And he definitely did not have time to wash anything but the inside of the bed before loading it up and hauling both himself and you out to the beach.
The longer you stare at the truck, the longer you stare at your shirtless boyfriend as he got the fireplace going… Oo, baby, you weren’t gonna last.
Maybe you’re both pushing it as you bite down into Jake's shoulder, muffling your pleasured whines as his fingers curl perfectly inside you, pressing and grinding against that beautiful bundle of nerves inside you. Maybe you’d both wake up the next morning with some lazy grins from Mickey and Rueben. Maybe Nat and Bradley would need to explain to Bob and Bradley’s partner what the others knew.
But for now, you can’t find it in yourself to care. The quick, feverish jerks of his fingers has you drooling like a mutt, eyes glossed-over and filled with sweet tears. And when his mouth teases your warm chest, tongue swirling over the bud and spelling his goddamn name, nothing else mattered to you but the feel of cold metal on your back and the warm body above you.
After all, the new RHO can take a few hits, can’t it?

There's this older lady at camp whose job is to watch the younger kids of the camp directors. They're all under 10 years old, not part of the actual campers here. That is it. And since day one, she has been constantly nagging me about hanging out, or including her in pictures and videos. You know, the thing I'm doing for the parents of the actual campers. She's the kind of person that will talk talk talk and not let you get a word in edgewise. Not even kidding, she threw me into a full blown panic attack because I made the mistake of taking her up on an offer to go on a store run at the start of everything.
So this week is trip week for the kids, they're all off on different trips. I'm here at camp to A: work on some camp long projects like organizing old files and getting the photo printer working. Stuff like that
And B: travel out with the food drops to 2 of the trip groups to capture footage and be here to capture when the biking and kayaking groups make their return.
With the teens gone, this lady, we'll call her F, has turned all her attention back on me because she's bored again. And then, she starts going on about how her friend runs a Tshirt printing business and needs a portfolio and oh could I please help set that up for her?
So I said: "My hourly is $75."
She looks full on shocked and offended. "Well it's just pictures, it's no big deal"
"Regardless, that's still setting up a website, organizing the pictures, collecting and posting contact information and that's if the pictures are even of a high enough quality to post without editing, which I highly doubt. And I am very busy. So. $75 an hour."
"But it's just pictures, it's easy-"
"It is a service. And I don't do free services. I am a professional. I have given you my price."
"Well can you at least send me the website for making one?"
"Since it's so easy, I'm sure you can find something that will work for you yourself."
Then I just left her sitting there at the lunch table.
As a terminal people pleaser, I tell you what I am riding that high of firmly saying no.

camp spiderpine
characters: miguel o’hara, miles morales, hobie brown, gwen stacy
notes: this is a camp au! i love writing these so much. for my AOT followers i promise i will be posting some more stuff soon and hopefully i will get some AOT reqs. as of rn i have one that i am excited to write but i think it might take me a bit as i really wanna take my time with it. sorry i didn’t include pav in this, just wasn’t feeling too inspired with him. might add him later lol. not proofread!
warnings: none!
Being a counselor with Miguel is both fun and exhausting. Your campers have a great bond, which is always lovely to see, but they are so energetic that it is tiring. It’s always fun to do it with Miguel though! He is always super helpful, especially with things like putting on sunscreen. His hands are gentle when he rubs it in, though they seem… hesitant? When he pulls away, his face looks strangely pink, but he says it’s just because of the sun. Strange. Sometimes, Miguel will guard at the lake while some of the kids swim. It’s hard not to check him out. Yet, lately you’ve been a bit… tempted by him. His lips look more enticing than ever, his voice is sweeter to listen to, and he seems more eager to be near you. It doesn’t surprise you when you two share a kiss late one night, outside the cabin on the porch. For each other’s sake, and to avoid the nosy questions from campers, you and Miguel agree to keep it secret. You think some of the campers are noticing with the amused smirks that they give you, and the way Lyla, another counselor, giggles when she sees how close you sit together. It’s all extremely exhilarating and lively, but the summer’s ending soon, and Miguel has to go back home…. which is hours away. Will you two stay in touch?
Miguel’s favorite camper is Miles, but he always denies it. He supervises many different activities for each camp season, but the ones he does the most often are diving, paddle boarding, and baseball. He always forgets to put on bug spray, so every night you see new bug bites all over his body. Sometimes, he accidentally spends too much time in the shower. Gets yelled at for it. Loses his only towel on the first day of camp.
Miles is a nervous camper. It’s his first time at Camp Spiderpine, so it takes him a while to adjust. For his activities, he chooses kayaking, basketball, arts & crafts, and mountain biking. His bunk is right above yours. It’s nice to be bunk mates since Miles is super respectful of your space and your luggage. He shares candy with you, tells you questionable stories from his school, and lets you do messy face painting on him. You’re a bit bummed out after you finish your face painting session on him. Not because you don’t like what you painted, but because you wanted to stay being close to him. His warmth is comforting, and so are the brown hues of his eyes. The next day, when Gwen asks you if you have a camp crush, she laughs when you say Miles. She tells you she’s been waiting for you to realize since the beginning of camp. On the night before the last day, Miles finally gains the courage to kiss you, and it is glorious. It’s messy, extremely nerve-wracking, and not perfect at all, but it’s amazing. Miles promises to stay in touch with you to see where the relationship goes. You’re his first girlfriend, and he wants to make it work.
Miles loses his flashlight early into the camp session, so he trips all the way to the bathrooms in the night. During his first time kayaking, he somehow flipped into the lake, and it took him 5 minutes with your and the instructor’s help to get back in. He laughs it off but is super embarrassed. Has so much trouble getting up so early in the morning that one time he just walked around all day in PJs. Kills all the bugs for everyone who is scared of them.
Hobie’s a veteran camper, and he’s been going since he was 6. He knows where pretty much every cabin and building is at camp. He always ends up helping new people get around. For his activities, he chooses BB-Guns, guitar, paddle boarding, and hiking. The two of you meet when your counselor, Miguel, partners you up with Hobie for the first day of camp. He is required to help you find your way around, and answer any questions you may have. Soon, you learn that you get along great, and become great friends. The two of you partner up together for paddleboarding, but he always falls off. He also gets bit by the fish a lot when the two of you are in the water. Your face feels warm when he helps you get back on when you fall off. His touch is so much more… captivating now? You find yourself wanting more. Now, when he guides you around camp, his hand is rested on the small of your back and his other one lingers near your waist. It’s very alluring. At night, you wonder if maybe it could be more? Are you imagining things? Or is this real?
Hobie plans on becoming a counselor himself when he’s older. Miguel rolls his eyes when he hears about it. All of the campers know him. He’s super popular!Always comes in clutch during ultimate frisbee. His team almost always wins just because of him. Knows all of the camp songs and cheers, but his face is deadpanned when it’s time to sing them.
All the counselors know Gwen as “the quiet one”, but that’s just how she acts around them. Around her friends, Gwen is always laughing and doing weird things like “rating people’s feet”. For her activities, Gwen chooses arts & crafts, creative writing, volleyball, and snorkeling. She is the first to help you find a bed in the cabin you’re both assigned to. The two of you decide to do arts & crafts together, where you make bracelets for your water bottles and tie-dye shirts. One day, during a camp game, you’d taken a horrible fall. You tore a muscle in your leg and could barely walk around. Gwen immediately volunteered to help you to the nurse with your counselor, Miguel. Even though you were in agony, the way Gwen’s supportive words were whispered to you made you feel hot. Suddenly, you began to see her in a different way, especially when she still helped you around camp. Her caring hold was so… comfortable, and wholehearted, and swiftly your heart began to beat faster when she was around. Camp’s ending soon, and you desperately want to tell Gwen how you feel… will you?
She smells like sunscreen and sunshine. Has so many stickers on her water bottle, and half of them are peeling. Dyed her hair pink at camp so her dad wouldn’t know. Miguel was too tired to do anything about it. Her hair takes hours to dry, so her clothes are always sopping wet after she gets out of the lake.

Ignore this if you want but please write a ryan gosling!Ken x Shy!human!Reader? Like I can’t stop thinking about Ken being human and a dad of a infant son who’s a mommy boy and Ken brings them to Barbie land, just hardcore fluff? Like everyone is happy to see the reader again but also happy to see a baby. So cute shy reader brings her infant son to girls night. 💖💖💖💖💖💖
"You think they'll like him?"
"They'll love him, [y/n]. I'm sure of it." Ken popped his head out of the camper van's window, smiling as he saw you sitting outside on the lawn chair.
You weren't the only people making a trip back to Barbieland, however, as you were currently cradling your pride and joy:
It was your infant son, who had the same hair color as you, and the same bright blue eyes as his father.
Yes, the baby was also Ken's.
After he decided to become human with your help (and a whole lot of patience), he was finally at a place where he felt genuinely happy with his life and purpose:
He started working for Mattel to advocate for the Ken dolls and skyrocket their sales, got married to you--his owner who finalized his decision to leave all his dollness behind, and settled down in a house that you could both call your own.
Despite all of these great happenings, however, he did feel like something else was missing.
Something that he desperately wanted to experience as a man.
And no, it had nothing to do with horse or beach or patriarchy.
It was fatherhood.
During his second time in the Real World, he's seen families bonding with their kids in movies, books, and even just walking down the street.
He was a bit embarrassed about obsessing over horses and ignoring the beauty of humanity happening all around him back then.
But now? He got to truly appreciate it.
While Ken didn't explicitly tell you that he wanted to know what it's like to raise a family, you could just tell from his lingering stares and smiles that he would give anything to experience that.
So you had some conversations about it, and you were absolutely happy to have a kid with him.
Yet after coming home from the clinic with the confirmation that you were pregnant, he became utterly terrified, his mind cluttered with the "what-ifs"?
He knew that he messed up a lot as Barbie's handcrafted boyfriend, and even as a human...that guilt followed him back to the Real World. He may have left behind the pastels and plastics, but these overwhelming emotions stuck to him like super glue.
He's just so, so afraid of screwing up again. Or that his expectations of fatherhood will fall short and the kid will hate him if they knew what he-
But you reassured Ken he was going to be a great father; him worrying about raising them right before they're even born just shows it.
Those nerves finally went away the moment he got to hold his son in the delivery room, sobbing after he realized he helped create this beautiful life with you.
Something that he, a dumb blond plastic doll who only knew how to do beach, never thought he'd get to experience.
Like Barbie, he finally got to be the creator...rather than the created.
Now he couldn't wait to revisit Barbieland with you and introduce his child to everyone there.
You've taken a trip there a few times before, so you were well aware of the long rollerblade-snowmobile-camper van-tandem bike-rocketship-speedboat-convertible journey ahead.
This time however, you were reasonably nervous, given you now had one extra fragile passenger to take care of.
Luckily, it's been a rather smooth trip so far, and your son didn't make a single fuss.
Not in the freezing cold during your snowmobile ride...and not even when a mama bear was currently emerging from the surrounding woods, approaching you both. You still held him closely, staying calm and cool, knowing these animals wouldn't hurt you.
Ken, on the other hand, damn near jumped out the window to drive the scary beast away--his newly-acquired dad instincts kicking into maximum overdrive.
But you took notice and hushed him, before turning back to the bear who was now sniffing you and your son with curiosity. You got to pet her on the head, and eventually she huffed and left you two alone.
"See?" You glanced back at your husband, amused that his torso was now halfway out the window. "Seriously, Ken? There's a door y'know."
"W-Well...had to make sure my family is safe! But I see you got it under control...g-good job, sweetie!" He forced a smile, although he was clearly struggling.
"....are you stuck?"
"......maybe."
'Great...now I'm dealing with two children.' Shaking your head, you gently set your baby in the carrier, before going to help Ken.
Yeah, this trip was going to be longer than you thought.
And not because of the kid.
................
"Barbies! Kens! Allan! We're back!"
"Oh my god!"
"Everybody STOP what you're doing!! It's [y/n] and Ken!!"
"Hi [y/n]!!"
"Hi Ken!!"
"Welcome back guys!!"
"Ken, dude!!!"
"[Y/n]! How you've been-??!"
"Guys, guys..at least let us get out first." After stepping out of the car, you looked around at the dolls surrounding you and Ken, seeing that Barbieland had gone through some changes since the last time you've seen it.
Nevertheless, it still felt warm and welcoming. Like your second home at this point.
With a bashful smile, you cradled your son closely to your chest, sighing as you wondered how you'll break the news to them. You were never one to make huge announcements...especially as everydoll here now had their eyes on you.
Weird Barbie--now in a uniform fitting for the garbage workers here--was quick to notice the bundle of blue you were holding, tilting her head. "What's that you got there, hun? A gift for us?"
"O-Oh! This is...um-"
"Oh it's not just any gift you can buy, Weird Barbie," Ken interjected, trying to hold back the tears in his eyes as he wrapped an arm around you, smiling from ear-to-ear. "We have brought to you the gift...of life!!"
There was a silence so loud, you could almost hear crickets chirping from the other world.
"...he means we had a baby boy." You bluntly stated, uncovering some of the blanket so they could see your child.
At first there were gasps, before there were cheers and smiles all around as they came closer to congratulate you both.
The Barbies cooed at how adorable your son looked, while Midge asked you if he just "popped" out of your belly like her Real World counterpart (to which you said no, of course).
Meanwhile, Ken struck up a conversation with the other Kens, who had their own praise to give and told him about all the cool jobs and other opportunities they've gotten since he left.
Of course, though, he was the first among them to be a dad besides Sugar Daddy Ken.
"But enough about us, and more about your son..." Tourist Ken spoke up, leaning forward. "Tell me, is he shaping up to be a "beach boy" like his dad?"
"Nope. He's...definitely a momma's boy." With a warm smile, Ken looked to you, seeing how his son clung to you while looking mesmerized by all the colorful and sparkly things in the cul-de-sac. "But he has my eyes and...that's enough for me."
A small chorus of "awh's" were heard, but before all the guys could start spouting about the sports they wanted to teach your son, he noticed you approaching them.
He stood right up, his focus on you. "Yes, my love?"
"Oh! So..I was wondering..uh--girls, c'mon." You huffed to the giggling Barbies behind you, shooing them away. Then you turned back to your husband. "Anyways, they um...invited me to girls' night tonight. And they're hoping our little guy can come along, too!"
"........."
"It'll just be for a few hours, I-I promise." You nervously added, suddenly remembering how he felt about that event. "I won't be-"
"I don't mind if you two go."
You blinked. "...you don't?"
"Nah, the Kens said they're having their own boys' night on the beach...which so-happens to be tonight as well!" His grin returned. "You have fun with the ladies. You'll know where I'll be."
Those words brought a huge smile to your own face, and you stepped forward to peck him on the lips. "Thanks, sweetheart. You boys have fun.." Your gaze flickered to the male dolls. "Try not to "beach-off" my husband while I'm gone."
After that, you turned and walked back to the Barbies, while Ken stared at the other Kens, noticing their bewildered expressions.
"What?"
"Th-That was an actual kiss."
"I've never seen one like that before!"
"H-How did you do that???"
"...it took practice, and don't forget..I'm human now, too." He chuckled, feeling a bit smug. "Humans kiss very differently."

I’m playing Pokemon Emerald cause I was never able to play a Pokemon game when I was younger.  It’s going great aside from me randomly naming my Pokemon after Minecraft Youtubers and starting an au.
Tumblr media
Here’s the most current screenshot of my team, and now I shall share some of the thoughts about the au I accidentally made that I’m also using for my in game lore where I basically don’t really exist, but that’s another thing.
Tis a bit long.
How the team formed.
Tango first met Skizz on Route 102, and after basically knocking the crap out of each other, they laughed it off and became friends.
They later found Impulse and Etho in the forest before Rustburo.  Impy and Etho were basically just chasing each other around a tree, and thought the duo were cute and asked them to join.
They found Joker in the cave on Dewford Island, but it took a while to even talk to him cause Joker just kept on poking Skizz and making dumb comments replaying to him and running away.
They finally find Zedaph in the desert on Route 111 fighting a Glalie and a poacher all on his own after the Glalie knocked out all the Vibrava and Flygon.
And now for some random facts about them.
They built a tandem bike.  Skizz handles the front pedals, and Tango handles the back ones.  Joker sits on the front handle bars holding the Pokenav so they all have a vague idea where to go.  Zed sits on the back handle bars so if someone tries to attack them close range, Zed can hold him out and have him chomp them.  Etho and Impy sit in a baby bike trailer in the back.
Tango will not stop raising the bar.  Like he’s highest level, and every time he steps up to give the others a break from battling, he only gets stronger and raises the bar even higher.
Etho’s natural eye color is blue, very out of the norm for Poochyeans/Mightyenas, however his left eye is red, and he has a scar over it.  Most people who first meet him think he got that scar in a cool way.  Impulse will tell you that Etho tripped and hurt his eye on a sharp rock, and he had to take Etho to the Pokemon Center.
A lot of people think Etho’s a lot more intimidate than he is.  He’s not.
After joining the team, Skizz saved him once, twice, 5 times, at least 10 times.  Etho is waiting for an opportunity to save Skizz once.
When Skizz evolved into a Lombre, a patch of blue stayed around his right eye.  Most of the younger Lotads he’s run across think it’s the coolest thing ever.
Impulse is wary of Sevipers because one named Helsknight decided to use him as basically a poison tail paddle ball.  Impy’s shed skin helped him from being physically hurt too bad, but the mental and emotional hurt hit full force.
The usual red and blue sections on Impy’s wings, and his eyes are purple.
Joker used to steal stuff from campers back when he lived in the cave.  It’s how he got his jester hat.  He stopped after joining the team.
He also has a section of the cave full of stolen tripods, and he forgot where it was when he left home.
Zedaph stubbornly refuses to evolve stating he does not want to gain a 4x weakness to ice.  The only reason he might consider it is if Groudon, Kyoger, AND Raquaza were all fighting, and there was no other way to stop them.
Despite refusing to evolve, he has these little pink bumps on his back.  Etho teases him by saying they’re his little wing bumps.
Zed’s eyes are basically what I’m calling Dragon Type Purple.
Tango is the only one who can fully speak the human language, and as such has taken it upon himself to not only shop but advocate for all his friends.
Joker and Zed can partially speak human, and they have been taking lessons from Tango.

If you're still accepting birthday asks... may I please get more biker fairy AU but with Luka/Marinette as grandparents?!?!?!
Sequel to Motorcycle Fairy, Cute is the New Sexy, and Fairy Ring
Fairy Dream
“It’s been a while, hasn’t it?” Luka said, as he got a pair of folding chairs out of the battered old camper and set them on the grass of their campsite.
“It has,” Marinette agreed, opening the chairs as Luka lifted out the cooler full of food they had brought. “I wish we could have ridden here.”
Luka smiled, running a hand through navy blue hair that was showing white at the roots. “Me too, but it’s just too long a drive for us nowadays. At least this way we can bring some amenities. And you know you wouldn’t want Jake bringing the kids on the bike either.”
Marinette hummed agreement. “There you go, being all practical,” she sighed.
“It’s entirely your influence and you know it,” Luka laughed. “We’ll go for a shorter ride later, once the crowds thin out a bit,” Luka promised. Their motorcycle was in the camper’s trailer.
“A sunset ride sounds nice,” Marinette admitted, smiling at him. The sunset picture of them that first time they’d met up at Le Mans, sitting on Luka’s bike and looking starstruck at each other, still had a place of honor in their house. Many others had joined it; they had visited Le Mans every year until the kids were born, and they’d gone off and on once the children were old enough.
Nowadays Le Mans was a special occasion trip, though, and they always rented a campsite. Their little camper had served them well ever since they had saved up to buy it as newlyweds, seeing them through many an adventure. There had been times they thought of trading it in, but Luka always managed to fix it up again, and now it was practically part of the family.
“A lot has changed, hasn’t it?” Marinette said, sitting down in the pink chair with faded flowers stenciled on the back.
“It would have to,” Luka pointed out, opening the cooler to hand Marinette two bottles of water. “It’s been, what, forty years? If nothing had changed the place would be looking pretty sad.” He sat down in his own chair as Marinette twisted the cap off of a bottle and handed it back to him. He’d managed to keep his arthritis mostly under control so that he could still play his instruments and tinker with his bikes, but he accomplished that partly by taking it easy when he didn’t need to be using his hands.
Luka took the water, transferred it to his other hand, and reached back out to take Marinette’s hand, caressing her fingers with his thumb. Dropping everything to go to Le Mans that weekend forty years ago had been the best decision of his life. Everything good that had happened to him came from that—from Marinette, and the life they’d built together.
He saw her face light up and smiled, before turning to see their son approaching, two small children clinging to his hands. They grow so fast, Luka thought wistfully. He missed holding babies. That warm, soft weight in his arms brought him indescribable happiness.
One of the little girls let out a screech and came running to throw herself in his lap. “Easy, easy,” Luka laughed, even as he squeezed her as tightly as he could. “How’s my little songbird?”
Evie smacked a kiss on Luka’s wrinkled cheek. “I’m hungry,” she announced, and Luka grinned.
“Then you ought to be snuggling up to your grammy,” he teased. “You know she’s the one who controls the food.”
Evie promptly hopped out of Luka’s lap and went to join her sister, who was already hugging Marinette while begging for treats.
Jake strolled up chuckling. He grabbed another folding chair out of the camper and set it next to his father. “How was the drive?” Luka asked, reaching into the cooler.
“Not bad.” Jake shrugged, accepting the soda Luka handed him and cracking it open. “Didn’t have to make so many stops this time.”
“Where’d you park?” Luka asked, and Jake gestured vaguely.
“A ways,” he said, “but it’s a nice walk.”
“How’re things with Anna?” Luka asked, his voice low, and Jake grimaced. “That good, eh?”
“Same old same old,” Jake sighed. “I know she loves us, but I think she loves her job more. Right now it’s just trying to decide if I can live with that.”
Luka put a hand on his son’s shoulder and squeezed. “We’re here for you whatever you decide.”
Jake smiled. “I know. Where’s Erika?”
Luka snorted. “Gearing up for the race, of course. You know she likes to spend some time alone before she gets on the track.” He tried not to show his irritation, or his fear. It turned out it was a lot harder to watch one’s daughter taking stupid risks riding a death machine at insane speeds. Safety gear had come a long way over the years but his heart still clenched when he watched his baby girl on the track, even as he screamed support and glowed with pride.
“She’ll be okay, Dad,” Jake said, and Marinette paused her snack distribution to pat Luka’s hand.
“Of course she will. She’s the best,” Luka bluffed, and Jake rolled his eyes while Marinette giggled.
“How are things going with the shop?” Jake asked, and Luka grinned while Marinette groaned.
“I still can’t believe we did that,” she muttered.
“We met at that shop,” Luka protested. “I couldn’t let that idiot run it into the ground after all the work Michel put into it.”
“At least it gives him something to do,” Marinette told Jake philosophically.
“Not that I’m doing much,” Luka confessed. “The manager I hired is great at her job. I’m just there to smile at customers and stay out of her way.”
“He’s plastered the place with Erika’s racing posters,” Marinette put in, and Jake laughed.
“It’s good for business!” Luka protested lamely.
“That’s totally why,” Marinette giggled.
“I’m not ashamed of being proud of my daughter. Or my son.” He smiled at Jake. “If they made posters for awesome dads I’d have you papered all over the store too.”
Jake snorted. “Thanks, Dad. I love you too.”
Luka reached over and ruffled Jake’s carefully arranged black hair, and Jake made a face at him as he patted it back into place.
“You’re not overdoing it, though, are you?” Jake asked. “Running a business can be rough.”
“Honestly, Delia does all the hard work,” Luka reassured him. “I just help with the fun stuff like inventory ordering. I did go to a trade show with her once to check out some new products. That was a lot of fun but it did wear me out,” he admitted.
“Hmm,” was all Jake said, but he didn’t ask any more questions, satisfied that his father was enjoying himself at least.
“You should stop by sometime soon,” Luka told him, squeezing his shoulder. “I bet we could get you some customers for those sick custom paint jobs.”
Jake looked away. “I haven’t done that in a long time.”
“Doesn’t mean you can’t pick it up again,” Marinette said gently. “It’s never too late, and the girls are old enough now to entertain themselves for a bit.”
“Think about it,” Luka told him, and let his hand drop. “The offer’s always open.”
“Daddy!” Maddie popped out of seemingly nowhere and leaned on Jake’s knee. “Can we go see the bikes?”
“Sure,” Jake said, smiling at his youngest. “Let’s go. Does anybody need to go potty first?”
“Me!” Evie yelled, and darted into the camper.
Maddie groaned and pouted, but Jake coaxed her into walking over to the next campsite to check out the bike parked in front of it.
Luka watched them go, and then turned his eyes on his wife, who was cleaning up the trash from the children’s snack tornado. He beckoned, and Marinette came to him, perching on his knee. She had always been thin, but these days she seemed to weigh nothing at all. She leaned into him, and he looped his arms around her. “We’ve come such a long way,” she said softly, and Luka nodded, rubbing his cheek along her silky gray hair.
“Here’s to another forty years,” he whispered, pressing a kiss to her temple. Marinette laughed.
“How long are you planning to live?” she teased, tapping the tip of his nose with her finger.
“As long as I can have another moment with you,” he whispered with complete sincerity, and kissed her.
Jake looked over his shoulder as Maddie babbled about the bike, and smiled when he saw his parents. He slipped his phone out of his pocket, and as they pulled back and smiled at each other, he took their picture. He’d show them later, he thought, turning away with a smile.

Jonathan has recently been in Seattle after working in Vancouver, but here’s an interview from November 2013 about his favourite cities, holidays and travel memories. Including:
Q. Your “Frozen” character, Kristoff, is a mountain man. Are you an outdoorsman as well?
A. My mom’s a gym teacher and she and my dad were both athletes. So we were always an active family. Ever since we were little, we did long bike rides. I’m a runner and I hike and I love being outdoors and doing all that kind of stuff. But I’ve never been on a proper camping trip. I camped outdoors in our backyard! (Laughs) I’d love to take a week off and camp in Yellowstone. Maybe I could be a hardcore camper. But not the kind who doesn’t need an actual bathroom. So scratch the hardcore part. (Laughs)
Q. Do you like cold-weather destinations?
A. I do! Last year I went to Park City, Utah, with my family and we skied and stayed in a lodge. That was fun. I hadn’t skied in a while. My mom took me skiing when I was little. I was maybe in the fourth grade. A snowboarder hit me from behind! He was a grown man, so it hurt.
Q. What was the first trip you took as a child?
A. It was to Disney World when I was five years old. My mom did a 50-day countdown. Every day before the trip, she would videotape us and we could talk about our upcoming trip or sing a song from Disney. We were so excited. The trip lived up to our expectations 100 percent! I didn’t even mind waiting in the lines to go on the Peter Pan ride and everything. I have to say, I actually love waiting in lines at amusement parks with people who you like. It’s fun. I had a friend who came to visit me from London last year and we went to Disneyland. Anyhow, now here I am in a Disney movie.
Q. Where is the most romantic destination?
A. I’ve honestly never had a romantic vacation. I need to change that right away!
Q. What are your top five cities?
A. I lived in Chicago shooting “Boss” for three months and it was gorgeous. But if I was going to place the cities in my favorite order, it’d be New York for sure. It’s my absolute favorite! Then Lancaster, Pa., Rome, San Francisco and Chicago.
Q. What makes a memorable vacation?
A. Being able to travel by yourself and feeling at home. I went to Rome by myself and just had the most incredible experience there. I went in the summer and it was so sexy and the food was great. I love sitting outside and people-watching. The vibe in the city was amazing. And then to visit the Sistine Chapel was mind blowing. I have to say that when I was in Rome, I ate my face off!
Q. Where have you traveled to that most reminded you of home?
A. I spent some time in Portland, Ore., and the mountains there reminded me of the mountains in Pennsylvania. It was so pretty with the leaves changing.

Polyshipweek day 3: Bed Sharing
set in the same very silly road trip AU as my last attempt. Rotten ot4. +
The camper has one big, comfortable bed that feels good to fall into after a long day, and two shitty, terrible bunk beds that also feel good to fall into after a long day, and then feel significantly less good to peel yourself out of in the morning.
Or maybe that’s just Mal. Transformation magic will wreck havoc on your joints if you do it wrong, and Mal has maybe, possibly been practicing some illegal transformation magic as of late.
If her mother comes back, she’s not going to be caught unawares again. Her mother can transform effortlessly into a fuck-off huge dragon, so Mal’s going to have to manage at least a decent-sized dragon in return if she’s going to protect her crew from Maleficent, and she can’t afford to not practice just because of some little things the ‘the law’ and ‘common sense’.
The point is, sleeping in the bunk beds is awful and it hurts. Therefore, Mal should be the rightful owner of the big bed.
Shockingly, the others don’t seem to agree with her on this.
“Get off—“ Mal groans, pushing ineffectively at the weight that’s currently pinning her to the bed. “Can’t—breathe—“
“Snorf—“ goes the lump on top of her, and then, “Ow, fuck, why are your elbows sharp?”
“Because you’re crushing my lungs,” Mal groans, elbowing harder. “Get off so I can breathe or I’ll put them somewhere worse.”
Jay rolls off the bed with a thump.
The weight gone, Mal takes a moment to enjoy the sensation of breathing freely before the guilt at kicking her platonic and sometimes-sexual, rarely romantic probably-soulmate out of the singular shared bed kicks in.
“Y’know,” Jay starts, sounding completely cheerful about being awake, and that’s it, any sympathy Mal had for him is immediately gone, “If you’re awake and all, we could go on a breakfast run before the others wake up?”
…..maybe she spoke too soon.
“Grocery store or cafe?” Mal asks quietly. It would be rude to wake up the other two, who are very peacefully sprawled in the bed beside them, dead to the world and unknowing in the ways of early morning baked goods.
Jay shrugs. The shades on their camper window are pulled shut to try and block out the worst of the morning sun, but the light comes creeping in anyway, and there’s one ray that’s hitting him right in the face.
Mal refuses to think about the imagery of it all. She can’t deal with the perfection of this gorgeous boy, not without a sketchbook in her hand.
“Was thinking cafe, if you’re up for it,” he says softly. He’s not wearing a shirt, and there’s a bruise on his neck from someone who isn’t Mal. Unless she’s been blacking out and going around giving indiscriminate hickies to her gang again, which is plausible, but seems unlikely given the current state of their food stores and the lack of alcohol thereof. “But I’m down for whatever you’re feeling.”
Mal is feeling a burning need to put her own marks on him, but she could also go for a croissant.
“Cafe, totally,” she agrees, stretching her arms up, up until her spine cracks with a satisfying jolt. “Gimme two seconds to find where Evie hid my shoes and I’ll be right there?”
Jay laughs, soft and gorgeous and unbearable. “Give me five times find a shirt and I’ll let you drive the bike.”

The Campsite
Check out the video here if interested!
youtube
And finally, let's close out this location by taking a look at the abandoned camper, as well as a bonus fire damaged car!
"Big open space under some power lines. It looks like a place some locals would use for drinking and partying. Watch for nails and glass."
"Terrible spot. Dumping ground for all things who knows what's. Old burned up car, pallets, and who knows what else Garbage everywhere. Was quiet for a night but next morning 8 dirt bikes showed up and used our van as a pylon to race around."
I was looking for a place to sleep for the night during a road trip and came across this location. The reviews were a mixed bag but I thought I would take a look since the pickings are slim in the area.
I arrived after dark and pulled into the large open crown land spot off of a forest service road, I was greeted by an SUV that was sitting on its roof with bullet holes in the side. Needless to say, I didn't like the idea of sleeping there for the night and decided to move on!

Bloom could finally afford a car
She is a good driver if she focuses and doesn't let herself get distracted by Stella
She likes a more retro look
Stella
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stella would be so extra!
She is a chaotic driver but she loves to accessorize her car and her Keychain
It would take ages to find a car she truly liked
She has the more modern care
Flora
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most likely to have a bike to get around #eco-friendly
But will have converted a VW bus into a camper and takes trips with Helia into nature. She would look at all the plants while Helia draws
Tecna
Tumblr media
Tecna would get a weird out of the norm car
Mostly so she could modernize it herself
She does not like just getting into a car and drive. She likes the building process more
She does not particularly like to drive she is more interested in the mechanics
Musa
Tumblr media
Musa would like sports cars
Something that goes fast and makes her feel like she is flying
She is a very good driver even tho it sometimes looks like it is reckless she is 100% in control
Although Riven still gets frequent heartattacks
Layla/Aisha
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Layla would either get an old school car or one for off roading
She is the most sporty and adventurous when it comes to these things and I think she and Brandon would have a great time driving through mud pits and gravell
Yet for everyday use she likes something more chill yet still cool
She would want storage for the back so she could transport paint and decor stuff the girls need to make over their flat.

Landslide Epilogue V Sneak Peek
besties I am on page 40 of the newest epilogue and feel terrible that it's taken me so long to get this out!! especially with Landslide, I just want things to be perfect!!
so here is a little sneak peek :)
“Still with me?” I ask Bob.
“Uh huh,” he breathes shakily, “wouldn’t leave you, Fee.”
Fee. Fee. It’s pity. He’s pitying me already because he knows exactly what I am afraid of--if Jake is gone, if some freak accident cut his life short, then he will have died without my forgiveness. And I am entirely unsure if I would be able to keep going.
This feels so juvenile and so adult simultaneously. Something is going wrong and all of us are banding together, calling each other, trying to piece together an answer or a timeline. Being so close with each other that we call each other first thing. We need each other, have to stay on the phone with each other. Even miles and miles and miles away, we need to hear each other’s voices. I feel like if we all lived in the same town, we would be biking on our ten-speeds over to someone’s tree-house and setting up an official investigation.
Pop. Pop.
God, this pressure in my pelvis--it feels heavier now that I’m standing. It feels like she’s pushing down as hard as she can without it being painful for me yet. Uncomfortable, yes--but painful, no.
“Nix okay?”
Pop, pop.
I can see him now, looking across the living room and watching her rake her hands through her hair, her eyes screwed shut. I can imagine her talking through grit teeth, trying to get answers, but each of her attempts are fruitless.
“Not really,” he says honestly.
The sun is setting now, washing our room in orange light. If I wasn’t on the phone with Bob, if things were different, if I had spoken to Jake only a few minutes ago--then it would be beautiful. Marmie is trailing close behind me as I step into the bedroom, her fur soft against my ankle.
Pop, pop.
“What can I do?” I ask.
And I don’t really know if I’m asking him honestly or if I’m just saying it aloud. I am  not in the Navy anymore. I am not a lieutenant. I cannot call in favors, I don’t have any more connections. I just have to sit tight now. I never used to sit tight before this, I used to claw my way into knowing, I used to know things and people and get answers.
My chest is burning because this is what Jake described all those months ago. Barefoot and pregnant in my big house in Virginia, a Mrs instead of a Lieutenant. I am the only one in our friend group that is not in the Navy, the only one who can do precisely nothing right now.
Bob’s still quiet on the other end.
“Nothing right now, Fee,” he tells me softly. “You just sit tight, okay? Stay on the phone with me.”
Right--because I have no other choice.
Pop, pop.
“I hate just sitting here,” I tell him.
He makes a noise--one of quiet agreement.
“I know you do,” he whispers. “It’s the Maggie in you.”
Right--except Maggie would never discharge. She would never leave the Navy. So she would never have to sit tight, hold on, and stay on the line with Bob.
I don’t know what else to say, but I can’t stop my mouth from opening and my throat from vibrating. I can’t just sit quietly right now.
“Had a dream about her the other night,” I tell Bob in a hushed tone.
Stevie stretches out on the bed and blinks at me, unimpressed as always.
“Tell me about it,” Bob whispers back just as quietly.
Pop. Pop.
I know that he really does want to hear it, even if his voice is strained and his breath is bated. He’s the kind of person that listens to other people’s dreams with unblinking interest.
“We were seventeen,” I start softly, closing my eyes, “on the last camping trip we took as a family. We were parked beside Lake Michigan in this dinky little camper that smelled like cat piss. It felt real--I could feel the breeze and hear the gulls.”
Bob hums, listening.
I’m there now, parked beside Lake Michigan with my sister and my parents. We’re too old to be sharing a bed, but we do it anyway because we won’t be able to soon. We take long walks sharing headphones, listening to Dolly Parton and Lucinda Williams. We swim all day and eat smoky chicken legs at night. My dad tries to play guitar around a bonfire. We wash our hair in the lake.
Seventeen didn’t feel like a tender age when I was seventeen, but now that I am twenty-nine, it feels like maybe my softest age. Somewhere between girl and woman, somewhere between child and adult. No sharp edges on my body, just plush baby fat and unblemished skin.
Pop, pop.
“And Maggie and I are walking on a nature trail, walking towards each other with all this--this emptiness between us. I can hardly make out her face. And then a doe just walks right between us--very close to me, like, closer than doe’s should be. It isn’t running, it isn’t spooked by me. It just stands there. Then I woke up.”
Really, Maggie and I didn’t see any deer when we were in Michigan. We didn’t even really ever walk on opposite ends of the trail. We were always beside each other, always hooking our arms together.
Pop, pop.
“Cryptic,” Bob exhales, laughing dryly. “Can’t she ever just say that she misses you?”
“I guess not,” I return. “It’d be too easy.”
We’re both thinking about it: if Jake is gone, will we dream of him like we dream of Maggie? Will he send us images of deer and never let us get too close to him?
Neither of us say anything at all for a long time.
I take a shaky breath, turning to look at the dying fire in the fireplace. But that is the exact moment that Bradley appears in the bedroom doorway, standing between those pretty French doors. He’s pale--very pale. He’s gripping the doorframe, his cheeks flushed, his chest tight and still. He’s been running his hands through his hair and down his face, I can tell.
Pop. Pop, pop.
He’s washed in this orange light, glowing. But I know that face--saw it the night Admiral Kazansky died. I know that stricken stature and those wide eyes. He has been stained by loss the same as me: this look is not a permanent one but it is unblinkingly familiar.
Jake. Oh, no. Oh, God.

Unit 01: Launching into Nature Interpretation
I grew up in the city of Vaughan, boasting a population of over 300,000 people as of 2017. I live in a cozy house with my family amidst a bustling neighborhood, and we have the biggest backyard on the whole street. My mom said that one reason we moved into this house was because of the large backyard, as it was good for our dog to run around in. It has a huge tree right in the center, with long, thick branches poking out of it. One summer, my stepdad helped me put up a tire swing off one of the largest branches. It would always fill with water after it rained, which was pretty often as it was a particularly rainy time. I remember swinging the tire against the tree so it would bounce off and make the water spill out of it. By the end of the summer, I didn’t spend too much time playing with the tire swing because the rainwater would annoy me a lot. Instead, I spent a lot of my time playing along the street with my neighbors. We would play grounders on the playground, go biking in the local parks, and play manhunt using our garages. Sometimes we would trade silly bands, staying out until it got dark so we could see if they actually glow in the dark. This never worked, though, because there were streetlights at every corner that never really let the sky get fully dark. Although our neighborhood had more than the average amount of greenery and parks for such a populated neighborhood in Vaughan, I don’t remember ever truly feeling a connection or appreciation for nature growing up. I was mainly surrounded by “city life”: concrete, houses, buildings, and plazas… it was rare to see a pretty sunset over a calm lake.
Tumblr media
I switched schools at the beginning of fifth grade. I had met a girl in my class who became my locker partner, and she convinced me to go to an all-girls overnight camp with her in the summer. I went to the camp but got placed in a younger age group. In all honesty, I never even saw my friend there. I didn’t enjoy it. I didn’t enjoy being bitten by mosquitos, I didn’t enjoy being around a bunch of younger kids, I didn’t enjoy not having the freedom to do what I wanted, I didn’t enjoy not having my friend there, I didn’t enjoy the small portions of food. One time, we did a camping trip where we canoed to an “island” and had to sleep near the lake in tents. It sounds nice, right? Nope. The counselors set up their tents on the soft sandy beach. We were stuck setting up tents further back, near the branchy forest. We didn’t have a soft cushion of sand to sleep on. I slept with a branch poking into my back. My first “immersion” into nature sucked, and I was more than ready to go home. As middle school ended, some of my friends from my extracurricular art program told me about another overnight camp they went to. Their stories were completely different than what I had heard in fifth grade: they told me about girls giving themselves piercings in the cabins. I thought that was insane… I had to see this for myself. I signed up for this camp, and at the end of August off we went! And you know what? I had a blast! Unfortunately, there were no DIY piercings. Fortunately, I spent all my time outside and LOVED it! Still do!
Tumblr media
It was one of the first times in my life that I saw a sky full of stars. In Vaughan, there are only 3 at most. In Haliburton, my friends and I would lie on the boat dock for hours before bed just stargazing. One guy from our group even brought a $1000 telescope, and we got to see the moon and all of its craters! Another time, we jumped into the lake with our clothes on because we forgot to change into our bathing suits. During my free time, my group mates and I would explore the nearby forests and beaches, always ending our adventures with a view of the lake. I even tried tubing for the first time! So much water got in my eyes, but I did it again that same day! I was a camper here for 3 years, and a counselor for 2. I had felt a sense of place. That camp is my happy place, and the first spot I think of when I'm feeling down. The staff, the campers, and my friends were all a crucial part of that feeling. I knew I wanted to share my love of camping with others. I became a nature interpreter, leading hiking groups to introduce campers to the local ecology and beautiful landscapes. I enjoyed connecting younger generations to nature, the same way I had been.
That experience ignited a passion in me. I started seeking out camping experiences, such as back-country camping in the Bruce Peninsula and car camping at McCrae Lake. I even branched out my interest educationally, taking environmental science courses and going on to pursue higher education in environmental sustainability. I am forever thankful to my friends who convinced me to go with their crazy stories. If it wasn’t for my curiosity, I never would have ended up with such a priceless experience.
