OK I'm really bad at stories so all I could think about for the medieval mermaid!adel and peasant!rowan au (I'm talking about my previous ask) is how Rowan lived a happy life with their family at a tree farm when one day at the sea, Rowan was out fishing when they saw something move in the water. They hoped it was a big fish since they were running out of food to eat when mermaid adel pops out and is like "... yo" and they bond. Rowan comes to the dock everyday to talk to Adel and they want to help Adel become a human. But one day a mysterious kingdom that's only known as "R" invades the kingdom Rowan lives in and kidnaps Adel. Dramatic romantic crap happens, Rowan meets peculiar friends such as rogue thief Merula, tailor Andre, alchemist Penny, sheperd Barnaby, farmer Ben, dark witch Ismelda, painter Badeea and the like. They go and rescue Adel while Adel is a bad*ss and tries to escape R herself. Then somehow badabing badaboom Rowan's actually a magical being, and that's all I could think about. omgggg ok maybe r took adel bc theres this mermaid treasure theyre after in the kingdom and they need a mermaid to get there. it fits with the canon of r needing mc to open the vault !!!!
