social media happened to be her biggest weakness. if anyone took a look at her screen time, it'd display an embarrassingly alarming number. while she should've been spending her time memorizing the cocktail menu, cutting limes, or tending to customers, she was too busy glued to her damn phone. "well, yeah! this place is, like, seriously sucking the life out of me. i needed a dopamine rush." a bit dramatic, but that was her specialty. "i mean, like, it's so dead. there's not even anyone cute in here to flirt with for tips." though, even if there were, she'd still be preoccupied with her usual scrolling, but emma didn't need to know that. "oh my god! you're totally not just saying that, right?" a grin tugged on glossy lips, the compliment going straight to her head. she absolutely thrived on any form of flattery. "you know what? i am a catch! i just know he's sulking right now, wishing i was there with him. it's kind of pathetic if you really think about it." lucia takes a moment to glance down at her phone screen, exhaling a disapproving grunt before shoving her phone into her back pocket. "you left me unattended. you know you can't do that, otherwise, i start clawing at the walls." soft laughter erupts from her throat. "i fear this is your fault."

it's  been  a  hot  minute  since  she  came  up  to  the  bar,  trying  her  best  to  grab  lucia's  attention.  now  emma  isn't  one  to  judge;  she  too  sometimes  catches  herself  slacking  while  on  the  clock,  so  she  doesn't  really  care  that  lucia's  on  her  phone,  although  she  wonders  what  makes  her  so  preoccupied  that  she  didn't  even  hear  emma  calling  out  for  her  until  now.  a  look  of  relief  washes  over  her  when  lucia  finally  looks  up,  eyes  darting  towards  the  phone  screen  shoved  in  her  face.  “  oh,  so  this  is  what  keeping  you  busy,  ”  she  says,  a  teasing  smile  toying  on  her  lips  when  she  glances  back  at  lucia.  “  i  don't  know  if  that  fuckin'  means  anything,  lu,  but  you're  a  catch,  alright  ?  of  course  he  wants  you.  ”  she  takes  a  look  around  for  a  moment,  scanning  for  anyone  looking  for  the  server  before  she  turns  towards  lucia  again.  “  no,  i'm  good.  just  stopping  by  to  make  sure  you're  not  slacking  at  work,  is  all.  ”  then  a  laugh.  “  you  got  caught  red  -  handed,  i'm  afraid.  ”

The sun peaks through the crack in the shutters as Ian lies still, mesmerized by the sight. The rays that shine through tangle around Mickey, illuminating the dusting of light brown freckles covering his face.

“Picture’ll last longer,” Mickey groans, eyes still closed as Ian’s remained fixated on him.

Ian doesn’t respond, only moves his hand to trace his fingers over Mickey’s cheek, each moment discovering a new way to be awed.

Mickey cracks open one eye with a small grin, the daylight immediately finding it, like it’s drawn to him.

"i guess, there was one girl in there that could kind of pass for you. maybe i should introduce myself." he wanted to get on her nerves. he wanted a reaction and he wanted to hurt her like she had hurt him. "i get it, you miss me. who wouldn't?" leo said with a shrug of his shoulders. "does he even know about me? or did you leave that part out? i mean i get if you didn't. he's a downgrade and there's no shame in that. everyone does that when they get a rebound."
